- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, this is our last break of the day.
- 0:02Speaker 1: It's been a fun day. We have to thank our
- 0:04Speaker 1: audience as always for riding with us every morning. We
- 0:08Speaker 1: love you, We thank you.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Yes, appreciate this morning. Yes as usual.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Absolutely, we love you though. Thank you, Steve. You have
- 0:19Speaker 1: some encouraging words to close out the show. Take us home.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we were what was the story we
- 0:26Speaker 2: were doing earlier?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yep, Well, we were doing this story about Monique and
- 0:30Speaker 1: how she's had this running fluid with feud with Tyler
- 0:33Speaker 1: Perry and Oprah Winfrey for about ten years, and how
- 0:36Speaker 1: she says she's not letting it go. She's just not
- 0:40Speaker 1: letting it go. She says, that's the reason we as
- 0:42Speaker 1: black people are treated the way we are. It stems
- 0:45Speaker 1: from slavery, because we don't let things go, and she's
- 0:48Speaker 1: not letting it go. That's what she said.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah, she said, because we let things go. Yeah, that's
- 0:55Speaker 2: why we Yeah, that's what Listen. This isn't for her
- 1:00Speaker 2: at all. This isn't for her at all. I'm just
- 1:05Speaker 2: talking to people in general about this subject right now
- 1:09Speaker 2: because I've learned I can't I'm not going to get
- 1:13Speaker 2: into that. I don't want my name in it. I
- 1:15Speaker 2: didn't say nothing one way or the other. I'm out
- 1:17Speaker 2: of it. Here's the deal. I want people to understand something,
- 1:26Speaker 2: the danger of holding on to things. You know. I
- 1:31Speaker 2: don't think people really understand the value of the statement
- 1:34Speaker 2: of what forgiveness is. I was taught, you know, as
- 1:40Speaker 2: a Christian we are to forgive, right, But I was
- 1:43Speaker 2: when you understand the reason why, it becomes quite beneficial
- 1:49Speaker 2: because forgiveness is Forgiveness doesn't mean you have to forget.
- 1:54Speaker 2: That's what people think. You suppost to forgive and let
- 1:57Speaker 2: a person back in your life and run the risk
- 1:59Speaker 2: of it happening. And again, forgiveness does not mean you
- 2:02Speaker 2: have to forget. Forgiveness allows you to no longer allow
- 2:08Speaker 2: that event or person to affect you. See, forgiveness is
- 2:13Speaker 2: not for the other person. It's for you. Most people
- 2:19Speaker 2: or events that you won't forgive in your life, those
- 2:22Speaker 2: people ain't even thinking about you. Those events have come
- 2:27Speaker 2: and gone. It's some people that have done you what
- 2:31Speaker 2: you consider dirty or wrong and then moved on with
- 2:34Speaker 2: their life. But every time you see them, every time
- 2:38Speaker 2: their name comes up, it conjures a thought in you
- 2:42Speaker 2: that just eats away at you like a cancer. Forgiveness
- 2:46Speaker 2: is not for the other person, it's for you. See
- 2:50Speaker 2: when you don't forgive, and watch the examples of this, y'all,
- 2:54Speaker 2: When you don't forgive, it's like you drinking the poison,
- 2:59Speaker 2: waiting on them to die. That's exactly what it's like.
- 3:03Speaker 2: All you got to do is look at the examples
- 3:06Speaker 2: of over and over and over of over of somebody
- 3:10Speaker 2: you see that just refuses to let go of the past.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Let me tell you something, why would you not let go?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Holding on to the past is of no benefit to you.
- 3:23Speaker 2: The past belongs to history, The future belongs to God.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Your gift is the present. That's why they call it
- 3:33Speaker 2: the present, because that's the gift that you have, the now.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And let me tell you something, man, you let me
- 3:43Speaker 2: the best way to put this you You got to
- 3:47Speaker 2: let go of the darkness of your past because if
- 3:53Speaker 2: you don't, you will stop the bright future that you
- 3:57Speaker 2: can have. If if you hold on to the darkness
- 4:02Speaker 2: of your past, you will stop the bright future that
- 4:06Speaker 2: you can have. You can't drive your car looking in
- 4:09Speaker 2: the rear view mirror. You're gonna keep running into something, y'all.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It doesn't it will not hurt you to forgive a person.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It won't hurt you. Now you can hang on to
- 4:22Speaker 2: it if you want to. You can be stubborn. I
- 4:25Speaker 2: ain't letting it go. Okay, okay, Then guess what when
- 4:28Speaker 2: you don't let it go, it won't let you go either.
- 4:32Speaker 2: See holding on come both ways. It take two people
- 4:35Speaker 2: to hug. If you hugging your past, your pass is
- 4:38Speaker 2: hugging you. So if you holding on to it, guess
- 4:43Speaker 2: what it's holding on to you too. Now somebody's getting
- 4:46Speaker 2: prevented from something going on. That's the danger of holding on,
- 4:52Speaker 2: especially to something that's ill. That's just ill to you.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Something not correct, not happy, doesn't bring you joy, isn't positive.
- 5:04Speaker 2: You hang on to a negative, y'all. What you're doing,
- 5:06Speaker 2: what you're doing to yourself? Come on, man, you better
- 5:09Speaker 2: than that. You owe yourself more than that than to
- 5:12Speaker 2: hang on to the past. It's over. It's over, you know.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I finally this year I forgave somebody who did something
- 5:22Speaker 2: like really crazy to me during COVID somebody did something
- 5:27Speaker 2: real crazy to me doing the business deal. I set
- 5:31Speaker 2: the brother down. I forgave you, not then forget, but
- 5:34Speaker 2: I forgave it. Because right after I forgave him, do
- 5:40Speaker 2: you know what he did? He came back to me
- 5:45Speaker 2: and asked me for some money, and you know what
- 5:50Speaker 2: I had done. I say, hey, brother, I forgive you.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I promise you I did. But I don't think you
- 5:54Speaker 2: and I need to do any more financial dealings because
- 5:58Speaker 2: I think that's what got us in the bad place before.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So I just let him have the information that he needed.
- 6:08Speaker 2: But forgiving him did a great service to me because
- 6:11Speaker 2: I could worry about him every time his name came
- 6:13Speaker 2: up and didn't conjure up no bad thoughts in me.
- 6:16Speaker 2: You have got to let stuff go. You can't let
- 6:18Speaker 2: the darkness of your past stop the bright future you
- 6:22Speaker 2: can have. Don't do it to yourself, y'all forgiven the
- 6:25Speaker 2: same for the other person. It's the youth. Y'all. Have
- 6:28Speaker 2: a great day today, and the most important thing you
- 6:30Speaker 2: could do today, y'all, don't forget to talk to God today.
- 6:34Speaker 2: He would absolutely love to hear from you. For all.
