- 0:14Speaker 1: if you get the answer right to my riddle, immediately
- 0:19Speaker 1: Welcome to Relatables Baddies book Club, where we will embark
- 0:23Speaker 1: on a journey reading some of the finest pieces of
- 0:25Speaker 1: literature you have ever laid eyes or is if that's
- 0:28Speaker 1: your preferred way to consume a book. On a Court
- 0:34Speaker 1: of Thorns and Roses, chapters thirty seven to the end.
- 0:40Speaker 2: This is exciting, Jake, the finale, the big finale, and
- 0:44Speaker 2: so much has happened.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yes, so this is its own episode, so we won't
- 0:50Speaker 1: feel the need to be rushed, do you any rushing.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I've even gone with some more in depth notes. I'll
- 0:56Speaker 1: explain how I did it, but first we need to preface.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Thank you everybody for coming to the book club.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, the support, and we read the comments and we
- 1:06Speaker 2: saw a lot of people saying.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Special for the finale, special special. Thank you guys all
- 1:11Speaker 1: for joining us in the book club. If you're reading along,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and I will say the Instagram the channel that we
- 1:21Speaker 1: have on our Instagram if you're on our Instagram, you
- 1:23Speaker 1: can see there's a Baddies book Club channel. If you
- 1:26Speaker 1: go on there, join the channel. I think there's about
- 1:28Speaker 1: three thousand batties in there right now, so I know
- 1:31Speaker 1: we can get that up higher because we so well,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we're done akata now we're sort of some posting in there,
- 1:36Speaker 1: but once we start the next book, which we will
- 1:38Speaker 1: order on this episode right before your eyes, but you
- 1:43Speaker 1: can we found out today that you guys can reply
- 1:46Speaker 1: each individual message we send, and you can like even
- 1:49Speaker 1: reply to other batties, so like there can be conversations
- 1:51Speaker 1: out in there. We always thought it was just we message,
- 1:54Speaker 1: you react, but opposite. Yeah is great. And with this
- 1:58Speaker 1: new episode, this is the start of new things, Jake,
- 2:01Speaker 1: start of new things.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we're excited to announce that Friday episodes of Stimulated
- 2:07Speaker 2: will be no more. Everyone got too Stimulated, as we
- 2:12Speaker 2: mentioned on the main episode, but from here on out,
- 2:16Speaker 2: we are going to be releasing the Baddies book Club
- 2:19Speaker 2: as their very own episodes every single Friday.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Starting next week. Yeah, because this is out of my
- 2:25Speaker 1: so this Friday coming up, if you're listening to this
- 2:26Speaker 1: when it comes out, they will be a stimulated, but
- 2:28Speaker 1: last one, when it happens, you'll figure it out.
- 2:30Speaker 2: But to preface, our new format is Monday Normal episode, Thursday,
- 2:35Speaker 2: Patreon Friday Batties book Club And we know some of
- 2:40Speaker 2: you baddies can't wait. Yes, so every single Monday. If
- 2:44Speaker 2: you want the Baddies book Club episodes early, they will
- 2:47Speaker 2: be on Patreon on on Monday for five dollars a month,
- 2:50Speaker 2: and you also get the extra episode on Thursday, So
- 2:52Speaker 2: good bang for your.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Value on Patreon's crazy. There's also a year and a
- 2:57Speaker 1: half to coming up, closer to year's worth of episodes
- 3:01Speaker 1: to binge. Yeah.
- 3:01Speaker 2: The best thing for us to see and here is
- 3:04Speaker 2: when people start at the very start of our episodes
- 3:07Speaker 2: and they say, we'd love to see your growth.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Scary for us.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Scary for us, yes, because we don't want to go
- 3:11Speaker 2: back and listen to how bad we were. Let's not
- 3:13Speaker 2: bring anything up from there either. But even the start
- 3:14Speaker 2: of Patreon to where we're at now, I think our
- 3:17Speaker 2: character development, like the character development in Akator, is quite exciting. Yes,
- 3:22Speaker 2: the confidence were very excited. Yeah, so let's so that's
- 3:28Speaker 2: that lights are on.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Lights are on, Go go stign up to Patreon and Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: support the cause and become part of the where the
- 3:37Speaker 1: bad is unite. That's where they unite.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think we've done this too because of
- 3:40Speaker 2: how much support you've given.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yes, so and fuck, this is honestly fun. A year ago,
- 3:45Speaker 1: if you told me we were doing a book club and
- 3:47Speaker 1: we turned it into its own thing, I just would
- 3:48Speaker 1: not have believed you. Yeah, and I just it's just
- 3:51Speaker 1: so fun, so excited, frontal lobe. Right, I couldn't agree more.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So what I did this week, Gotty, was I Last
- 4:03Speaker 1: week I did my own little two sentence summaries of
- 4:06Speaker 1: the of the chapters. Right, That's what I've done this week.
- 4:09Speaker 1: This week I went through the effort of I took
- 4:12Speaker 1: a photo of every single page of each chapter, put
- 4:17Speaker 1: it into chat chepet, and I said, turn this into
- 4:18Speaker 1: five sentences for me, summarize this into five sentences. So
- 4:22Speaker 1: chat chept has read chapter thirty seven to forty six
- 4:27Speaker 1: and summarized each individual chapter into five sentences. Just so
- 4:30Speaker 1: I wanted to paint a better picture for the baddies.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I was gonna that's still good. I was going to
- 4:36Speaker 1: give you so much praise, thinking you did something amazing. Yeah. No,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I can't. Yeah, because you texted me Reckon, this is amazing.
- 4:42Speaker 1: You were like, oh, I've got I've got the best idea.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Can we long it took me. It's still good. I'm
- 4:47Speaker 1: giving you some praise, but it's still using chat.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But kick us off, Jake with We stopped at chapter
- 4:54Speaker 2: thirty seven. Yes, and shit's about to hit the fan, Okay.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I think the best thing to do for this quickly
- 5:01Speaker 2: is to remember what were our predictions predictions last week?
- 5:07Speaker 2: Remember our predictions, and then say our thoughts on the
- 5:10Speaker 2: next chapter before we get in.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So what was your prediction? Because I'm pretty sure I
- 5:14Speaker 1: was semi right, you had a good one.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I landed hard on the prediction. I can't really say
- 5:19Speaker 2: it because it will give away one of the chapters.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But my predictions were frayer f No, He's okay. So
- 5:25Speaker 2: that's the only time I'm going to say it wrong. Yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 2: that after we've done like what six Baties book. If
- 5:32Speaker 2: I say it once more, Rong be so pissed when
- 5:34Speaker 2: I edit it. Fav Fa and resand team up and
- 5:40Speaker 2: somehow beat Amarantha, I said, And I also said, did
- 5:44Speaker 2: I say Farah will become You.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Said, Favor gains powers. Yes, and you said that Farah
- 5:52Speaker 1: and Recent team up to beat Amarantha. And what we're
- 5:55Speaker 1: going to say right now is body landed on part
- 5:58Speaker 1: of that. All right, Yeah, so what did you say again?
- 6:02Speaker 1: You want to I I still I stand by I
- 6:08Speaker 1: was reading that. I stand by my love triangle theory.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And what's going to happen is it's going on into
- 6:14Speaker 1: the next book.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It has to when the book finished in the last
- 6:17Speaker 2: scene recent and I was like, this is very much
- 6:20Speaker 2: alluding to yes, when she's like, oh.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yes, my exactly. Yeah, yeah, but that was the predictions. Yeah, okay,
- 6:31Speaker 1: thoughts and feelings. Thoughts and feelings is I'm happy, I'm
- 6:34Speaker 1: happy to my mind's blown. Yeah, my mind's blown to
- 6:37Speaker 1: my mind's absolutely blown. We both got the riddle wrong.
- 6:40Speaker 1: That pissed me off, same, like, I'm a fucking idiot.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I should have got that. I should have got that.
- 6:46Speaker 1: You should have got that. I should have got that. Honestly,
- 6:48Speaker 1: that's poor from you. Yeah, I should have got that.
- 6:50Speaker 2: You definitely should have got that. It's kind of how
- 6:52Speaker 2: you expected it to finish. And I'm intrigued because it
- 6:57Speaker 2: kind of left it not really on a cliffhanger like
- 7:00Speaker 2: the other chapters.
- 7:01Speaker 1: No, they didn't, which I thought there was going to
- 7:03Speaker 1: be a massive cliffhanger the way that Sarah jan Mass
- 7:06Speaker 1: wrote this, you could finish on Akatar. Yeah, and you
- 7:09Speaker 1: don't have to read the rest, but I'm reading the rest.
- 7:12Speaker 1: We are reading the rest. So we'll start off with
- 7:16Speaker 1: thirty seven. Yeah, this is this is my summary of
- 7:18Speaker 1: thirty seven. Where we left off on thirty six was
- 7:20Speaker 1: Farrah had just completed her first trial with the worm
- 7:23Speaker 1: and she was being taken away, and Amarantha said to her,
- 7:29Speaker 1: my whole court lost a lot of money on you,
- 7:31Speaker 1: apart from one. My prediction was it was recent that
- 7:34Speaker 1: made a lot of money. Yeah, that was right. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: she was also very very injured, very injured arm broken
- 7:38Speaker 1: bone sticking out. Yeah. Okay. So chapter thirty seven, Farrah
- 7:42Speaker 1: lies gravely injured and feverish in the dungeon after her
- 7:45Speaker 1: first trial with no help from Tamlin or Lucian resand
- 7:50Speaker 1: appears offering to heal her in exchange for a bargain.
- 7:54Speaker 1: So he originally said two weeks of per month for
- 8:00Speaker 1: the rest of your life. You come to the night
- 8:03Speaker 1: Court and live with me for two weeks every month
- 8:06Speaker 1: for the rest of your life, right, and Farah was like,
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's not that long. I'm like what And Farah was,
- 8:10Speaker 1: She's literally dying. She's dying. And so she says, Originally
- 8:15Speaker 1: I think she's like, no, fuck off's piss off. She
- 8:18Speaker 1: spits him, just spitting a lot there, Yeah, just spitting
- 8:23Speaker 1: at him. Right, So she initially refuses her worsening condition
- 8:29Speaker 1: and the doubt that Lucian will come because Lucian got
- 8:32Speaker 1: whipped for helping her last time. Did she know she
- 8:36Speaker 1: knew by this point, I'm pretty sure and Amarantha got
- 8:39Speaker 1: Tamlin to do the whipping. Crazy evil woman. Yeah, So
- 8:43Speaker 1: she refuses and then so the doubt that Lucian will
- 8:47Speaker 1: come in time, it ends up forcing her. He reasons
- 8:50Speaker 1: about to leave because she's like spinning out him and
- 8:52Speaker 1: he's like, stupid human, stupid human. He's about to leave,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and she goes, wait five days and he's like, ah, ten,
- 8:59Speaker 1: She goes five and he goes one week. So she
- 9:03Speaker 1: says deal, yeah, and then he heals her. And so
- 9:07Speaker 1: the bargain was he heals her and one week of
- 9:10Speaker 1: every single month for the rest of her life if
- 9:11Speaker 1: she survives, she has to go live in the night
- 9:15Speaker 1: call with him. So what it did, though, was so
- 9:19Speaker 1: Recent heals her arm and leaves her marked with a
- 9:22Speaker 1: permanent magical tattoo symbolizing their bargain. And she didn't know
- 9:26Speaker 1: this was going to happen. Cheeky boy. She's like, what
- 9:28Speaker 1: the hell's this?
- 9:29Speaker 2: Kiky boy, and there's an eye on her palm ends
- 9:33Speaker 2: up helping her.
- 9:34Speaker 1: By the way, Pharaoh realizes Recent's true motive was to
- 9:36Speaker 1: spite Tamlin and she has been caught in his trap.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So because he says to her, she's going, get this
- 9:43Speaker 1: off my arm, and she's like, why are you scared
- 9:45Speaker 1: of certain high fables here? My high lord? Yeah? And
- 9:48Speaker 1: so yeah, obviously she's like, I don't want to fucking
- 9:50Speaker 1: Tamlin and I did deal with the devil.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I've got quotes. Unless this lack of gratitude and appreciation
- 9:55Speaker 2: is because you fear a certain.
- 9:56Speaker 1: High lord's reaction, there you go, that's what he say. Yeah,
- 10:01Speaker 1: lack of gratitude is right. He saved your wife, bro.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I really like how Reesand was depicted and what he
- 10:09Speaker 2: turned into.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I am not gonna lie character development on Recent best
- 10:12Speaker 1: in the book, Yeah, best in the book, I think,
- 10:14Speaker 1: maybe far to be fair, but says one thing I
- 10:16Speaker 1: didn't like he did. We'll get to that. Oh, no,
- 10:19Speaker 1: there's one thing I didn't like he did either. There's
- 10:20Speaker 1: a few things I didn't like he did, but there
- 10:22Speaker 1: was one thing like I was like, Oh, the reasons
- 10:25Speaker 1: he did them, Yeah, it makes sense. Yes. Chapter thirty eight,
- 10:30Speaker 1: Farr struggles through cruel and impossible chores assigned by Amarantha's guards,
- 10:37Speaker 1: haunted by the bargain she made with Resand and the
- 10:40Speaker 1: magical tattoo marking her while scrubbing a filthy marble hallway,
- 10:44Speaker 1: she is secretly helped by the Lady Court, sorry by
- 10:47Speaker 1: the Lady of the Autumn Court, who provides her clean
- 10:51Speaker 1: water as repayment for Farr saving Lucian. Lucian is her
- 10:54Speaker 1: because loutionis from the Autumn Court, but he's left. The
- 10:57Speaker 1: next day, Farrer is forced to sort lentils from ashes
- 11:00Speaker 1: in she doesn't know whose room it is. Pause, what
- 11:03Speaker 1: were lentils? Lentils? Yeah, I think that they are food.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Lentils are like the leot I looked it up because
- 11:09Speaker 1: I paused and looked up on my phone what lentils?
- 11:11Speaker 1: When it came up with food and what the fuck
- 11:13Speaker 1: she cleaning food? The guards said to her, she didn't
- 11:17Speaker 1: know whose room it was. They put her in this room,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and they said, one of the slaves or something whatever
- 11:24Speaker 1: foolishly spilt lentils into the fireplace of this high lord.
- 11:28Speaker 1: You clean it. If it's not clean by the time
- 11:30Speaker 1: they're back, Dad, you're dad, Dad? Literally? What crazy? And
- 11:34Speaker 1: so uh. Fava is forced to sort the lentils from
- 11:40Speaker 1: the ashes in resense fireplace and we figure out his resence,
- 11:44Speaker 1: only to be caught by him mid task. Their tense
- 11:47Speaker 1: exchange reveals more about resens powers, his defiance of Amarantha
- 11:53Speaker 1: and Favor is growing awareness of how dangerous and manipulative
- 11:57Speaker 1: he truly is. In the end, Recent uses his magic
- 12:01Speaker 1: to clean Favor and her surroundings, spares her from further torment,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and asserts his control over the guards, leaving Favor unnerved
- 12:08Speaker 1: but momentarily safe.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, so Recent said, don't touch her anymore. Yep, she's mine.
- 12:15Speaker 1: YEP.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I also thought when we found out it was recent room,
- 12:19Speaker 2: I thought they were going to have sex.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So did I. I'm not gonna lie. I thought they
- 12:22Speaker 1: were gonna boint. I think you planted a seed. Sorry,
- 12:26Speaker 1: I think it's gonna happen. I've planned a F G
- 12:28Speaker 1: Nali seed.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was nothing was sexy leading up to it,
- 12:32Speaker 2: so I was like, maybe not true, but I didn't
- 12:33Speaker 2: know what lentils were.
- 12:34Speaker 1: If her in Recent don't ever have some sort of
- 12:37Speaker 1: sexual relationship in the whole series, I'm not gonna lie.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Not worth the reed. Yeah, they've got to too, and
- 12:45Speaker 1: they both like the hottest characters. Yes, tain's good looking.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Recent what at the end of that chapter, I didn't
- 12:53Speaker 2: quite understand this Recent said, I had my reasons to
- 12:56Speaker 2: be out then when she went, when he went to
- 12:57Speaker 2: fire Night, So yeah, do not think further.
- 13:01Speaker 1: That did not cost me? Why did he have his
- 13:02Speaker 1: reasons to be at finite? That went over my head.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I don't actually know. It doesn't get said. Yeah, I
- 13:08Speaker 1: think he had reasons because he.
- 13:12Speaker 2: It's kind of it's kind of like he planned to see.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Her, That's what I'm starting to think. Yeah, so it's
- 13:19Speaker 1: like he knew of her existence already somehow. Yeah. But
- 13:22Speaker 1: also he couldn't have, but he could have because he's
- 13:24Speaker 1: so powerful. I don't know. It is crazy though, So
- 13:27Speaker 1: maybe he saw in the woods or something we don't know,
- 13:28Speaker 1: maybe what. So another thing you find out about Recent
- 13:31Speaker 1: in this chapter is so she says, because Recent is
- 13:37Speaker 1: actually like quite a bit more powerful than the other
- 13:39Speaker 1: high lords. So she actually asks why d Dan morant
- 13:43Speaker 1: to let you keep some of your powers because you're
- 13:46Speaker 1: her whore? Crazy to say, and he, I don't know.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I think he says no, and he's like, which is
- 13:54Speaker 1: just a and what's the word. Basically he says like, no,
- 13:58Speaker 1: she didn't let me keep any of my powers, which
- 13:59Speaker 1: is just treue testament to what I truly am. And
- 14:03Speaker 1: so she then says, do you also like, is Tamlin
- 14:07Speaker 1: the only one that turns to a beast? And they
- 14:09Speaker 1: all have all the high lords do have a shape
- 14:11Speaker 1: shifting power. They're not all just a beast. And Recens
- 14:14Speaker 1: is sick. Yeah he gets wings. Yeah, he's got these
- 14:16Speaker 1: massive talents that come out and these sick black wings.
- 14:19Speaker 1: But he doesn't like having a beast faced, so he
- 14:22Speaker 1: keeps his hot, he keeps like his mad sexy body
- 14:26Speaker 1: like abs and shit, and he keeps his head. But
- 14:28Speaker 1: then he just has wings. He keeps his arm muscley arms,
- 14:30Speaker 1: but he has talents, like he just looks hectic. Yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 1: that's cool, very good. So she finds out about him
- 14:36Speaker 1: and so then after that, yeah, he tells the guards
- 14:38Speaker 1: no more tasks, like, no more choice for her.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And also after this she gets two hot meals a day. Yeah,
- 14:42Speaker 2: and they were treading a leg shit until Recent said that.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. Chapter thirty nine, Favor endures days of isolation
- 14:49Speaker 1: and degradation after her bargain with Recent, receiving food but
- 14:56Speaker 1: no companionship, and is eventually taken by shadowy night court
- 15:01Speaker 1: servants to be bathed, painted, and dressed in revealing attire
- 15:07Speaker 1: for Amarantha's court. Yeah, this was sus. So this was
- 15:11Speaker 1: really sus. She just gets like she's alone for days.
- 15:13Speaker 1: She's getting fed, which is good, no more chores, but
- 15:16Speaker 1: she's just fucking alone, right, And then she gets taken
- 15:20Speaker 1: by some shadowy figures to a room. They bathe her
- 15:25Speaker 1: and then they paint her and then they just put
- 15:28Speaker 1: like cloth that's covering her boobs and her vagina and
- 15:31Speaker 1: barely any of her butt. And then she gets taken.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So Reson forces her to attend knightly parties at his side,
- 15:43Speaker 1: and the first one that he takes her to, she
- 15:45Speaker 1: goes out there everyone's there. Tamlin's there, loose to everyone's there, right,
- 15:50Speaker 1: and he says to have some wine and alice. One
- 15:53Speaker 1: of her rules was do not drink this whye and
- 15:57Speaker 1: so he well, he forces her to. Yeah, she has
- 16:00Speaker 1: no choice. As soon as she SIPs it, gone, she
- 16:02Speaker 1: said she's gone. Wakes up the next day and she
- 16:07Speaker 1: is in the dungeon vomiting. Yeah. By the way, Lucian
- 16:12Speaker 1: comes that day. He comes in and he's like, what
- 16:15Speaker 1: have you done? You made a deal with him. She's like,
- 16:19Speaker 1: I was dying. You weren't coming, because of course I
- 16:22Speaker 1: would have come. She's like, I was dying, but she
- 16:25Speaker 1: would have died too, because he was like, this is
- 16:27Speaker 1: the first I could walk. So that was the first
- 16:28Speaker 1: day she was going. That was the first day he
- 16:29Speaker 1: could walk. That's all. That's when she finds out about Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: So basically she goes like what happened? And he's like,
- 16:37Speaker 1: you don't want to know, You really don't want to know.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And she goes like what happened? And he said, basically,
- 16:44Speaker 1: Resan got you to dance the whole night sitting on
- 16:47Speaker 1: his lap in a very revealing way, and just just
- 16:51Speaker 1: to get to Tamblin, so she was drugged.
- 16:53Speaker 2: But at this point, I was kind of hating Resam
- 16:56Speaker 2: because he was coming across as possessive and was alluding
- 17:00Speaker 2: to making Tamilin jealous. Although you didn't think it would
- 17:03Speaker 2: really work, it was kind of making him jealous, so
- 17:06Speaker 2: Tamilin would hate Recent not to build anger towards Amarantha. Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 2: so you're hating Recent and then he came across as
- 17:13Speaker 2: very possessive and he's like, hell, well, I know if
- 17:15Speaker 2: anyone else touches you, and that's why the pain I
- 17:17Speaker 2: was getting sassed when he's like, she only touched my He.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Would never he would. He was touching her all over,
- 17:22Speaker 1: but she always woke up with smudged pain, so she
- 17:25Speaker 1: knew she had been touched, but she was never touched
- 17:27Speaker 1: in private parts. Yeah she knows that. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 1: so because she would always wake up and not remember anything.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Lucian finally visits her explains why he couldn't come sooner,
- 17:37Speaker 1: assuring her she wasn't fully violated and that Tamalin saw
- 17:40Speaker 1: everything but was powerful to powerless to intervene. Resan later
- 17:44Speaker 1: performs a public execution in the throne room. Killing a
- 17:48Speaker 1: summer court fairy swiftly and mercifully, hinting that even his
- 17:53Speaker 1: cruelty may serve a deeper strategy in the deadly game
- 17:57Speaker 1: he's playing with Amarantha. So favorite figures out, Yeah that
- 18:01Speaker 1: Recent is actually playing games with Amarantha, but hiding it
- 18:04Speaker 1: from Amarantha.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yeah, because this fairy that Recent just killed tried to escape,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and when Recent took over his mind, all the thoughts
- 18:14Speaker 2: of the people who the fairies, who helped this one,
- 18:18Speaker 2: and his reason for leaving, he kept to himself.
- 18:21Speaker 1: So yeah, there was more involved.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and he kept that to himself so he didn't
- 18:24Speaker 2: have to hurt more people. When Amarantha also said kill
- 18:27Speaker 2: his mind, but don't actually kill him, kill the fairy's mind,
- 18:29Speaker 2: not actually him, Yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 1: She said yeah, yeah, yeah, she said, like kill his mind,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and then he just kills him.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he just make him dumb, so he lives with
- 18:35Speaker 2: no mind and he's like, oh, sorry, it didn't mean
- 18:36Speaker 2: to kill him. So we actually saved the fairy in
- 18:38Speaker 2: the long run, pretty much killing him quickly and lying
- 18:41Speaker 2: about who else was involved.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Some normal affair.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so you're seeing his character slightly be a little
- 18:47Speaker 2: bit better.
- 18:48Speaker 1: He's still thinking recent do you still hate him? Yeah?
- 18:51Speaker 1: And you don't really know yet. You know you're not
- 18:53Speaker 1: one hundred percent short. Yeah. So and then chapter forty
- 18:57Speaker 1: is task number two. Try on number two. This one's
- 19:00Speaker 1: now I didn't. I didn't, I know. I just the
- 19:02Speaker 1: whole chapter was the trial, and I just know it
- 19:04Speaker 1: off my heart because I really liked this chapter. I'm
- 19:06Speaker 1: not gonna lie. What have you got written down? I
- 19:09Speaker 1: wrote that?
- 19:10Speaker 2: So the trial was three kind of levers, and she
- 19:14Speaker 2: obviously is illiterate and written on each one.
- 19:17Speaker 1: What was the question to it was? So she goes out,
- 19:21Speaker 1: everyone's there for the trial, and then what happens is
- 19:24Speaker 1: the floor starts the lower and when it's lowering, what's
- 19:29Speaker 1: being revealed is there's like a cage, right, and it's
- 19:35Speaker 1: splitting like what revealed, it's splitting the area that's being
- 19:39Speaker 1: lowered in half or something like that. And on the
- 19:41Speaker 1: other side of the fucking bars is Lootion tied up.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I think he was naked too. I don't know why,
- 19:47Speaker 1: maybe maybe, but basically's tied up. And then her there's
- 19:51Speaker 1: three levers one, two, and three and the whole task
- 19:57Speaker 1: is to read this passage of riding and then pulled
- 20:00Speaker 1: the appropriate level to answer the question. And she can't read.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Did Amarantha know she couldn't read? She didn't know that
- 20:06Speaker 1: and she had no idea. Yeah, And the whole time,
- 20:09Speaker 1: I'm thinking this picture is going to die because she
- 20:11Speaker 1: can't read. That's what I was thinking, right, So sad,
- 20:15Speaker 1: So what's cut when? So what's happening is basically it's
- 20:18Speaker 1: a timed trial because there's spikes on the ceiling that
- 20:23Speaker 1: are coming down slowly. And yeah, Lucian, Lucian and her
- 20:28Speaker 1: are going to die if she can't do it, they're
- 20:29Speaker 1: both going to die. Yeah, and yeah, she's getting super close.
- 20:32Speaker 1: She can't read it. She's making out some words, and
- 20:35Speaker 1: then Lucian is yelling out, just pick one. You can
- 20:40Speaker 1: tell you just want to say, you fucking idiot, just
- 20:42Speaker 1: pick one, And so she goes up this is important
- 20:46Speaker 1: with the hand of the new tattoo. She goes to
- 20:49Speaker 1: pull a lever wincing pain, and she doesn't really realize
- 20:53Speaker 1: what's happening yet, and then she pulls another wincing pain,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and then the idiot goes back to pull wins pain
- 21:00Speaker 1: and finally she's realizing that the one she goes towards
- 21:04Speaker 1: it doesn't have Winzy painter as much, and it's a
- 21:06Speaker 1: pull pulls it. Who wasn't that's helping her Recent he's
- 21:10Speaker 1: now connected to her and see thrust, see stuff through
- 21:12Speaker 1: the eye, tattoo on the palm of her hand, genius, genius.
- 21:15Speaker 1: And so then what happens is so she she was
- 21:17Speaker 1: supposed to die, and she knew she was going to
- 21:19Speaker 1: die until she just took the risk and Recent helped her.
- 21:22Speaker 1: She was she was devo that she got help. She's like,
- 21:24Speaker 1: I shouldn't be here. I was like, who cares? She yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 1: she kept on saying like. So he ends up entering
- 21:29Speaker 1: her mind and going don't cry, Yeah, don't let amaranthisy
- 21:32Speaker 1: you cry. So she has to hold strong, stay strong,
- 21:33Speaker 1: stay strong, and then she weeps when she gets back
- 21:36Speaker 1: to her dungeon for like hours. She says, I don't
- 21:38Speaker 1: deserve to be here. Yeah, because just for some reason,
- 21:40Speaker 1: because she thinks she doesn't deserve to be ell she
- 21:42Speaker 1: should be this. Not that I've had any near death experiences,
- 21:45Speaker 1: but well.
- 21:46Speaker 2: She had, the fact that she hates Recent makes it
- 21:49Speaker 2: worse because he's the one who saved her. So he's like,
- 21:51Speaker 2: oh no, yeah, so actually, so that is chapter forty
- 21:56Speaker 2: one bit of an l of a challenge to be honest,
- 21:58Speaker 2: three levers like a thing falling down. The first challenge
- 22:01Speaker 2: was actually cool, the first, the second very classic, the
- 22:04Speaker 2: third one cool, the second one like a scuby doo scene.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, like, what the hell you're giving her a thirty
- 22:09Speaker 1: three percent chance? She does say that too. Amarantha says,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I've only given you three levels. I'm giving you some helping.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah yeahah. But so chapter forty one is after surviving
- 22:19Speaker 1: the second trial, Fayer falls into despair, numbing herself with
- 22:23Speaker 1: fairy wine. Basically from there, every single day she comes
- 22:27Speaker 1: and gets picked up because she has another four month
- 22:30Speaker 1: to our next trial. She gets picked up every single
- 22:32Speaker 1: day and by these night court servants dressed up, painted
- 22:39Speaker 1: and then taken drinks the wine, and she ends up
- 22:41Speaker 1: just like started looking forward to her She just looked
- 22:43Speaker 1: forward to it because it would numb her. Yeah, and
- 22:45Speaker 1: she was like in a state of depression. She was
- 22:46Speaker 1: definitely depressed because.
- 22:47Speaker 2: She also didn't think she couldn't solve the riddle. Yeah,
- 22:50Speaker 2: no at all, And she kept thinking about it and
- 22:51Speaker 2: she's like why this is so hard? And it was
- 22:53Speaker 2: in a stat of depression and she's like, I'm not
- 22:54Speaker 2: going to win this third one, she was down herself
- 22:56Speaker 2: and then the wine was an escape.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I think the reason she was Yeah, she was. She
- 23:00Speaker 1: She says to herself that second one, I should have died,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and recent helped me. So she is saying to herself
- 23:06Speaker 1: in the third one, she's it's imminent death is a
- 23:10Speaker 1: family yeah. And so then in chapter four, okay, one
- 23:14Speaker 1: of the time, so when she's getting taken to panted,
- 23:17Speaker 1: so she overhears one of the times she's taken by
- 23:22Speaker 1: Rescann's shadow servants. She oversees a secret conversation between the
- 23:25Speaker 1: atoll and a mysterious creature about the King of Highburnes,
- 23:29Speaker 1: growing dissatisfaction and looming plans for war. The moment reveals
- 23:33Speaker 1: that Resin's handmaids are also spies, and that greater dangers
- 23:37Speaker 1: threaten not just farh but the entire mortal realm. Later,
- 23:41Speaker 1: while trapped in her cell and emotionally broken, Faara hears
- 23:44Speaker 1: a hauntingly beautiful melody that stirs her soul and reminds
- 23:48Speaker 1: her of love, light, and the reasons she must keep fighting.
- 23:53Speaker 1: The music becomes a spiritual Balm, reigniting her will to
- 23:56Speaker 1: live just two days before her final and most dangerous child.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Do we ever find out where that comes from? The music?
- 24:03Speaker 1: I reckon it's Tamlin doing something with magic. Well, at
- 24:07Speaker 1: the at the end there was a sunset. What's the music?
- 24:10Speaker 1: At the end too? Was the sunrise sunset? What's the music?
- 24:13Speaker 1: Playing the same music? No, I don't know where they
- 24:16Speaker 1: came from.
- 24:17Speaker 2: But also that conversation they overheard spark something too, because
- 24:22Speaker 2: she's like everyone else is hating Amarantha as much as
- 24:24Speaker 2: she is, which was interesting. And also the King of
- 24:27Speaker 2: Highburn was dissatisfcied, dissatisfied with how Amarantha was treating well,
- 24:34Speaker 2: he was just because of the sort of overlappingness of
- 24:37Speaker 2: Julian Durien.
- 24:38Speaker 1: She just he doesn't give a shit about favor. No,
- 24:41Speaker 1: he's just annoyed that Amarantha's wasting three months that they
- 24:46Speaker 1: could be using to overtake the Mortal Realm, just to
- 24:49Speaker 1: just to toy with Favra, Like he doesn't give a
- 24:52Speaker 1: fuck about any of that that's beneath him. But just sorry,
- 24:55Speaker 1: Amarantha hates humans so much. She loves to see the
- 24:58Speaker 1: torture m. Yeah, I'll tell you what the riddle. I
- 25:01Speaker 1: know I was wrong, but Amaranthas still couldn't kills them,
- 25:06Speaker 1: kills him slowly three months. Yeah, you're not from Oh no,
- 25:09Speaker 1: we should have had the riddle again. I don't have it,
- 25:10Speaker 1: doud No, I don't know either, Okay. Chapter forty two,
- 25:16Speaker 1: on the eve of her final trial, Faira is again
- 25:19Speaker 1: at all at a ball. Yeah, she's pulled into a passionate,
- 25:26Speaker 1: stolen moment with Tamblin Dumb. He comes over, so she
- 25:29Speaker 1: so Resond's busy overtalk the fairies, and she's like on
- 25:33Speaker 1: the art skirts waiting for Reson to come get her
- 25:34Speaker 1: because she doesn't like to walk around on her own, right,
- 25:36Speaker 1: and everyone's got eyes on her all the time. Yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 1: And so she she sees Tamblin but then looks away,
- 25:43Speaker 1: looks back. He's gone. And then what she feels up
- 25:46Speaker 1: next to is someone come up and grazes her somehow
- 25:48Speaker 1: skin somewhere, and she's like, and he stops next to her,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and he really she realizes that he is next to her,
- 25:54Speaker 1: and she grabs his hand and then he lets go.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He starts walking away, and then he turns around, small
- 26:00Speaker 1: smoke and she goes that means follow. It's like when
- 26:04Speaker 1: you've been getting with a girl a night and she's like,
- 26:09Speaker 1: let's go, yeah, a quiet place to pash, a quiet
- 26:12Speaker 1: place all we're gonna do in front of everyone. He
- 26:14Speaker 1: gets yeah, and I was like, you idiot. So a
- 26:20Speaker 1: little bit of a sexy scene they were gonna fuck.
- 26:23Speaker 1: They were like getting closed off right, a stolen moment
- 26:26Speaker 1: with Tamalin, only be only to be interrupted and exposed
- 26:29Speaker 1: by Recent. They so they went and they went into
- 26:34Speaker 1: a small room, a dark room, and then they were
- 26:36Speaker 1: getting all down and dirty, and then Yeah, Recent just goes,
- 26:41Speaker 1: he's too chicky. That was getting up to dirty dogs.
- 26:44Speaker 1: And then basically Tamblin and Recent both hears someone about
- 26:48Speaker 1: to open the door and Recent, I don't know what
- 26:55Speaker 1: he told you to get away. It's like, be a
- 26:57Speaker 1: good boy and leave. He's like, what are you I
- 27:00Speaker 1: was doing? Be a good blame fucking leave And so
- 27:02Speaker 1: Tamlin leaves. But then Amarantha and some crew come to
- 27:06Speaker 1: look in the door and Resent just starts kissing Favor.
- 27:09Speaker 2: This is when I started to hate Yeah Recent, because
- 27:12Speaker 2: he like forced himself on her.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and the way she was describing us like, what's
- 27:16Speaker 1: going on. She wasn't a fan, but is like, I
- 27:20Speaker 1: knew this was going to so they chat said it's
- 27:23Speaker 1: to protect them both.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it was to protect him, and it's building it's
- 27:26Speaker 2: sort of also building the hatred because Tamilin didn't know
- 27:29Speaker 2: why he was doing it, building the hatred from Tamblin
- 27:31Speaker 2: towards Amarantha.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Well, the whole reason that Reesen is doing all this
- 27:35Speaker 1: stuff and doing the humiliating of Fayrh is because he
- 27:38Speaker 1: wants Tamlin to see it, and he knows that Tamarin's
- 27:40Speaker 1: gonna hate recent for it, but he's betting, he's taking
- 27:43Speaker 1: a risk. He's betting on the fact that Tamlin's actually
- 27:45Speaker 1: gonna blame Amarantha for it. Right, Yeah, so still crazy.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Publicly humiliated and dismissed, Far returns to her cell, only
- 27:54Speaker 1: for Recent to later appear and confide in her, revealing
- 27:57Speaker 1: his own torment as Amarantha's prisoner and his strategic reasons
- 28:02Speaker 1: for drugging but never truly violating her. He explains that
- 28:06Speaker 1: provoking Tamlin's rage is part of his plan to ultimately
- 28:09Speaker 1: destroy Amarantha, and that even his kiss was a calculated move.
- 28:13Speaker 1: To shield Favor from worse punishment. The conversation on veals
- 28:17Speaker 1: Resent's vulnerability, his past, and his deep concern for his
- 28:21Speaker 1: people and court, painting a more complex picture of the
- 28:24Speaker 1: man Favor thought she hated. In the end, she realizes
- 28:27Speaker 1: that despite his methods, Recent has been protecting her all along,
- 28:31Speaker 1: even making a lesser bargain when he could have demanded
- 28:35Speaker 1: much more. Now, one thing we find out is that
- 28:39Speaker 1: Resen's dad killed Tamalin's dad. We do find that out.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I wrote that down somewhere. Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I also like Reason's powers, being able to see things
- 28:48Speaker 2: in a different light. I like, after figuring all that out,
- 28:51Speaker 2: very cool when there's all these sly little things. He's
- 28:53Speaker 2: such an intricate character. I think he's Yeah, his character
- 28:57Speaker 2: development is definitely like that.
- 28:58Speaker 1: He' kind sexually assaulted her. But one hundred percent regardless
- 29:02Speaker 1: of the reasons. Yeah, yeah, regardless, not on But it's fantasy.
- 29:06Speaker 1: It is fantasy, and it is a story.
- 29:08Speaker 2: So Chapter forty three, the Final Challenge. This had a
- 29:14Speaker 2: good kicker, Jake, didn't it. I didn't see that coming.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Did you? What happened?
- 29:18Speaker 3: No?
- 29:19Speaker 1: I was not at all.
- 29:20Speaker 2: So I'll explain the final challenge was three fairies, all innocent,
- 29:26Speaker 2: came in hooded, yeah, hooded, hooded, hooded, told to get
- 29:30Speaker 2: on their knees yep. And then an ash dagger. Three
- 29:34Speaker 2: individual ash daggers yep were adwood.
- 29:37Speaker 1: We know that that's what kills fairies. And she goes,
- 29:39Speaker 1: all you have to do is kill these three innocent
- 29:41Speaker 1: fairies and your tandlin is yours. Yeah, and I was
- 29:44Speaker 1: like school, yes. I was like, oh, she's gonna do
- 29:47Speaker 1: my problem.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I was like, favor is a beast. But she was torn. Yeah,
- 29:50Speaker 1: she was torn. And so first fairy fairy she goes
- 29:54Speaker 1: to kill hood comes off mail and he's like, no,
- 29:58Speaker 1: oh yeah, she has to say that. She makes she
- 30:00Speaker 1: she has to pick up a ash blade. She's going
- 30:02Speaker 1: to do it. And then Ameretha goes, wait, take this
- 30:05Speaker 1: hood off. Yeah, so she has to look them in
- 30:07Speaker 1: the eyes and he's like, please, don't do it. The
- 30:09Speaker 1: first one was easy to kill, please, and she's like
- 30:13Speaker 1: and then and then you're reading it and it goes
- 30:15Speaker 1: and then I slowly inserted and it was chested. I
- 30:17Speaker 1: was like shit, fah, holy shit, girl. It was going
- 30:21Speaker 1: like these fairies probably are families just as much as
- 30:24Speaker 1: I love Tamlin. And also it's pretty well known now
- 30:27Speaker 1: that fairy children, especially high fay children, rare. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: dying breed for some reason, it's really hard for them
- 30:37Speaker 1: to procreate. Would you if you were put in the
- 30:40Speaker 1: same position as Favor, would you kill three people to
- 30:44Speaker 1: save the one you love? But I'm not just saving
- 30:45Speaker 1: the one I love, You're also saving everyone. Yeah, it's
- 30:50Speaker 1: a no brainer. You don't want to have to put yourself,
- 30:54Speaker 1: you don't want to have to change who you are
- 30:55Speaker 1: to do it right. But the alternative is Amarantha kills
- 31:01Speaker 1: me in a split second. These three fairies get to live,
- 31:04Speaker 1: but everyone's trapped under the night Court and also the
- 31:07Speaker 1: Mortal lands forget about them. Yeah they're gone. Yeah, So
- 31:11Speaker 1: it's like, I'm sorry, it's three these three fairies lives
- 31:14Speaker 1: or yeah, yeah she was rattled, but she was rattled, right,
- 31:19Speaker 1: so whatever I got. So for a final trial, fair
- 31:21Speaker 1: is brought before Amarantha. The task is three stabbing three
- 31:25Speaker 1: seemingly innocent fairies in the heart to win her freedom.
- 31:28Speaker 1: And and throughout all this, she's looking up at Tamlin, right,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and he is not making eye contact with her, and
- 31:38Speaker 1: she's like weird and he's not showing any expression, he's
- 31:42Speaker 1: not showing distress, nothing, right, but he's up there. It's
- 31:45Speaker 1: him up there next to Amarantha. It's him.
- 31:48Speaker 2: And so then fairy too was a young girl, young girl,
- 31:53Speaker 2: and she's like, do it take me to a place
- 31:55Speaker 2: where I can live forever?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Because she just saw Farah kill that fairy the first one.
- 32:00Speaker 1: She's like, well, obviously she's going to be able to
- 32:01Speaker 1: kill a second, right, So she does start doing some
- 32:04Speaker 1: sort of praying and then she's like looking for her
- 32:06Speaker 1: and she goes, do it is taking her time?
- 32:10Speaker 2: Didn't she say something like this won't help you or
- 32:12Speaker 2: something like oh this won't help you in my world?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Fucking know, like just and then bull she kills her
- 32:16Speaker 1: second one dead, second one dead. This is easy? And
- 32:21Speaker 1: then yeah true. I was like okay is and then okay, okay.
- 32:29Speaker 1: When the final fairy is to be revealed, they take
- 32:33Speaker 1: off the hood the hood, and who is it? Tablain?
- 32:36Speaker 1: It's Tablin. I thought I thought he was next to Amarantha.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And then she looks back up he's got Amarantha and
- 32:42Speaker 1: it's the at all that was shape shifted into Tamlin.
- 32:45Speaker 1: And they're all laughing chuckle. So she looks and basically
- 32:51Speaker 1: Amarantha is like, okay, well here's the third one you
- 32:55Speaker 1: got to kill, and once he's dead, he's yours and
- 32:57Speaker 1: a face value. They can't win. I can't win even
- 33:00Speaker 1: she lives in.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Tamlin dies and then it's kind of dumb from Amarantha
- 33:05Speaker 2: to be fair.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Well, that's a good point, but she thinks it was
- 33:08Speaker 1: a semi gamble from Amarantha, but big gamble was betting
- 33:14Speaker 1: on Farabingdam.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess so so basically, but knowing how much
- 33:20Speaker 2: effort Amarantha is put into keeping Tamilin at her side
- 33:23Speaker 2: even though he absolutely hates her guts and then putting
- 33:27Speaker 2: him up the collateral doesn't make sense to me at all,
- 33:29Speaker 2: even though she knows that. But even if Theayah didn't
- 33:31Speaker 2: know that what her name's heart, we'll get to that. Yeah, okay,
- 33:36Speaker 2: so I thought it was a dumb decision.
- 33:38Speaker 1: I personally also think's dumb. Yeah, I was too invested
- 33:41Speaker 1: to think about it though. Yeah. So what happens is
- 33:44Speaker 1: Fayrah is obviously torn. She's like, do I now have
- 33:49Speaker 1: to make it an even bigger decision and kill the
- 33:51Speaker 1: one I love to save everyone else in his life,
- 33:54Speaker 1: and so she's thinking, and then she starts to think
- 33:56Speaker 1: to herself, like, wait, I I just don't see Amarantha
- 34:03Speaker 1: letting Tamlin die because Amarantha's in love with Tamlin. She's
- 34:07Speaker 1: doing all of this is literally because he would not
- 34:11Speaker 1: be her fucking husband, right or because she wouldn't like
- 34:15Speaker 1: he wouldn't sleep with her and be hers. She's like,
- 34:18Speaker 1: what's going on here? And then she realizes like she's
- 34:20Speaker 1: having flashback memories of all these times that people have
- 34:24Speaker 1: said to Tamlin, or you're quite warm or something like
- 34:27Speaker 1: that for someone with a heart of stone. Yes, And
- 34:32Speaker 1: so she's like, what, No, she's wigging out. So she
- 34:36Speaker 1: remembers Lucian saying it, and then she actually remembers the
- 34:38Speaker 1: Atr staying it, and what she says is like, I
- 34:42Speaker 1: could have been I could have been glamored to the
- 34:45Speaker 1: a tour where I didn't even see him, but Tamlin
- 34:48Speaker 1: told me to hide. He glamored me from the atour,
- 34:50Speaker 1: but not the Ataur from me. Did he do that
- 34:53Speaker 1: for a reason? Because the atur said, oh, Tamlin, for
- 34:56Speaker 1: someone with a heart of stone, you're very warm or
- 34:58Speaker 1: something like that, and so she's like, is Tamila's heart
- 35:02Speaker 1: literally made of stone? Yeah? And as a reader, we
- 35:06Speaker 1: obviously just brushed over that and went over her head. Yeah,
- 35:09Speaker 1: and we're like, oh, I was like, she little twisty.
- 35:14Speaker 1: And so she started to think like, well, Tamilon was
- 35:18Speaker 1: doing this on purpose. The reason that I could hear
- 35:20Speaker 1: all these conversations when they literally knew I was there
- 35:22Speaker 1: because they can feel my fucking heartbeat from a mile away,
- 35:25Speaker 1: is he wanted me to hear it. And so what
- 35:28Speaker 1: does she do? Picks up the ash dagger, shabs Talmon
- 35:32Speaker 1: in the heart and it's going and initially she goes, fuck,
- 35:35Speaker 1: it's not slowing down, but then she hits. She hits
- 35:39Speaker 1: a heart of stone. They won, They won, And so
- 35:43Speaker 1: what did I say? Paris stabs Talmon in the heart,
- 35:45Speaker 1: trusting he would survived to his heart of stone, and
- 35:47Speaker 1: when he begins healing, it's confirmed she was right. But
- 35:50Speaker 1: Amarantha refuses to honor her promise, twisting Pharaoh's words to
- 35:54Speaker 1: delay the freeing of Tamlin and Unleash's brutal magical torture her.
- 36:00Speaker 1: So were Morantha was a liar. Amarantha was a liar.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So basically she was like I said i'd freedom, but
- 36:07Speaker 1: I didn't say when. Yeah, and then all there's a
- 36:09Speaker 1: bunch of fairies that is trying to go.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Liar freeom they onon she did it freedom, and Amarantha's
- 36:17Speaker 3: like fuck yourll like, yeah, I didn't say when.
- 36:22Speaker 1: It could be when you're dead for all I care, bitch, bitch.
- 36:26Speaker 1: And then so what happens is she literally just because
- 36:34Speaker 1: I guess in a way it means that Fara did
- 36:36Speaker 1: technically fail, she starts to literally kill Farah. M hmm.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Yeah, She's in agonizing pain. And then Recent comes out
- 36:46Speaker 2: of his skin, was like, you can't do this anymore?
- 36:49Speaker 1: Yes, and she has favor. Amarantha comes over towards Farah
- 36:55Speaker 1: and Farah has one of the daggers and she is it.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Does Farrah try to go stab her? Lisa did tried
- 37:03Speaker 1: to stub hers straight in the neck, that's right. Reesnn
- 37:05Speaker 1: was standing there and Reesenn tries to stab Amarantham and
- 37:08Speaker 1: she's just Recent goes flying. Yeah, she's like weak. And
- 37:11Speaker 1: then basically Amarantha just like it's just using magic on
- 37:14Speaker 1: Farrh and just like crushing her up against the stones
- 37:17Speaker 1: and shit like that and just yelling like, admit it,
- 37:19Speaker 1: you don't love him, admit it, admit it, you don't
- 37:22Speaker 1: love him, and she's just like, I won't admit it.
- 37:23Speaker 1: I do love Tamblain, I will not admit it. And
- 37:25Speaker 1: Tamblin can't do anything because he's like healing really slow
- 37:28Speaker 1: because his magical powers are depleted. And then.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I think, but Amarantha there planted the seed of the riddle.
- 37:36Speaker 2: As Faya is getting like incruciating, incrusading pain, she's like, oh,
- 37:42Speaker 2: the only riddle the riddle, and she's like, say that
- 37:44Speaker 2: what's going on in my head? She's like, the only
- 37:46Speaker 2: thing that can say me now is the riddle. And
- 37:47Speaker 2: then she keeps going and she said, you love her,
- 37:48Speaker 2: said that you don't like and.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Also what I'm pretty sure one of the things she
- 37:50Speaker 1: says is like, the only thing keeping me together is
- 37:54Speaker 1: my love for Tamlin. Yeah, and then she's like so
- 37:57Speaker 1: then each time she gets like smashed against the stone,
- 37:59Speaker 1: she's like reading out a thing of the riddle and
- 38:01Speaker 1: she's like reads the first line. She's like and then
- 38:04Speaker 1: eventually she goes, I know what it is. And then
- 38:07Speaker 1: she's about to die and she goes love. The answer
- 38:10Speaker 1: is love. And then from there because Amarantha, word for
- 38:18Speaker 1: words said, if you get the answer right to my riddle, immediately,
- 38:24Speaker 1: masks are off. Powers back, Tamlin's yours. Everyone's free fucking
- 38:31Speaker 1: some of the Spring courts. Masks start falling off, drop drop,
- 38:35Speaker 1: and then Tamlin instantly heals. Tamlin fucks Amarantha up big time.
- 38:44Speaker 1: So after Pharasol's a riddle and diet and oh yeah,
- 38:48Speaker 1: Farra dies, I didn't think she no, she was almost
- 38:50Speaker 1: about to know is dead? No?
- 38:52Speaker 2: No, no, no, then that's no. So she's still alive
- 38:55Speaker 2: when Tamlin's beating and she's looking at it through Resan's eyes.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but we don't know she's dead. Okay, we don't
- 39:01Speaker 1: know if she's dead. So Tamlin's freed from Amarantha's curse unleash.
- 39:05Speaker 1: It's his full power and brutality kills her in a
- 39:08Speaker 1: moment of explosive vengeance. Chaos erupts, but many fairies, including
- 39:11Speaker 1: Lucian and several high lords step in to help stop
- 39:14Speaker 1: Amarantha's forces. Tamlin cradles Favor's broken body, weeping, while the
- 39:19Speaker 1: high lords of each court basically so we didn't know
- 39:23Speaker 1: she was dead. And she's on the ground. Yeah, so
- 39:24Speaker 1: he kills Amarantha. Tamily kills Amarantha. Everything's good, all the
- 39:28Speaker 1: rest of her everyone just like runs away from everyone, right,
- 39:30Speaker 1: all the rest of her court. And then she's on
- 39:32Speaker 1: the ground and Tamily comes over and picks her up
- 39:33Speaker 1: and he's cradling her, and you come to the realization
- 39:37Speaker 1: that she's dead and she was watching it through Resann's
- 39:40Speaker 1: eyes because of the tattoo, and so she's dead, but
- 39:44Speaker 1: she can still see stuff through Resann's eyes. And what
- 39:48Speaker 1: happens is every high lord from each court comes over
- 39:52Speaker 1: and drops like this light on top of Fayr and
- 39:56Speaker 1: then Resin comes over. He's like the last one to
- 39:59Speaker 1: do it, and he drops light on top of her
- 40:00Speaker 1: and he's like this is basically he's like, this is
- 40:05Speaker 1: repayment for her saving everyone, and this is you and
- 40:07Speaker 1: I like, debts are settled. Don't come after me now
- 40:10Speaker 1: because I did all that shit to her and make
- 40:12Speaker 1: you angry. And that just shows how powerful Tamilin is. Yeah,
- 40:16Speaker 1: everyone's scared of the Tamila. Yeah declaring so recent drops
- 40:20Speaker 1: his power. Last declaring of the debt between them repaid. Tamlin,
- 40:23Speaker 1: with all the magic combined and his love guiding him,
- 40:26Speaker 1: kisses Fear and lays his glowing hand on her heart
- 40:30Speaker 1: to bring her back to life. Okay is resurrected by
- 40:34Speaker 1: the combined powers of the high Warts and awakens as
- 40:38Speaker 1: a high Fae. See what I said about it, I
- 40:40Speaker 1: fucking knew it. Yeah, my god, right, I knew it.
- 40:46Speaker 1: She's now a fairy. She's a high fairy. It was
- 40:48Speaker 1: the only way to save it. It is it was
- 40:51Speaker 1: her human body now transformed, but her soul still burdened
- 40:54Speaker 1: by the lives she took. Yeah. As she grapples with
- 40:57Speaker 1: gilt and her new identity, Tamberlin reassures her with love
- 41:01Speaker 1: and tenderness. I want to say what I have written
- 41:04Speaker 1: down here. Time to have sex. Bro. They go and fuck, Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 1: they going for her and Tamlin going fuck. And then
- 41:12Speaker 1: so they go. They stay in the court under the
- 41:14Speaker 1: mountain and they boink a bit, and then she said,
- 41:19Speaker 1: so she knew they were leaving. When they woke up.
- 41:22Speaker 1: She was restless and couldn't sleep, and so she felt
- 41:25Speaker 1: the urge to go for a walk in the mountain.
- 41:28Speaker 1: And she finally she gets to this point where she
- 41:30Speaker 1: sees some light and she walks up these stairs to
- 41:32Speaker 1: a fucking balcony. Who's there recent And he goes, I
- 41:36Speaker 1: guess this is goodbye, and she goes, don't forget. I
- 41:40Speaker 1: got to come see you once a week for it
- 41:41Speaker 1: was kind of like she wanted to. That's that's what
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's kind of like she wanted to. It's
- 41:45Speaker 1: kind of like if she was to have just said goodbye,
- 41:49Speaker 1: hope I never see you again. He wasn't going to
- 41:51Speaker 1: hold her to it. But he goes, you know, what
- 41:55Speaker 1: I think he was doing was testing her because he
- 41:57Speaker 1: goes to see if to see if she obviously she
- 41:59Speaker 1: wants to chuckles, and he goes, how could I forget? Yes?
- 42:03Speaker 1: And when he flies off.
- 42:04Speaker 2: This was the only thing that alluded to the next
- 42:06Speaker 2: book was he saw something in Farr had a double
- 42:10Speaker 2: take and then she's like, would you see And then
- 42:12Speaker 2: he's disappeared, like something was part of her as a
- 42:15Speaker 2: fairy and you're like, oh, what is it? And then
- 42:17Speaker 2: you just don't find out. I assume that's in the
- 42:19Speaker 2: next book, which is very interesting. So yeah, she's she's
- 42:22Speaker 2: a fucking high fane.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Now she's going to be a beast, and she just
- 42:25Speaker 1: says that she feels different, and she's I think she's
- 42:27Speaker 1: like a little bit bigger. I don't know.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she's got different hands, like the glory things.
- 42:31Speaker 2: But also when they leave the court under the mountain,
- 42:35Speaker 2: Durian's eye bone is gone, yes, and I was like, Oh,
- 42:39Speaker 2: something's going on. That's got to play a part somewhere.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Either he could come back to life. We'll get to
- 42:44Speaker 2: that in our predictions. Who knows. But they go back
- 42:46Speaker 2: to the spring Court and she has to face what
- 42:49Speaker 2: she's done.
- 42:50Speaker 1: She just yes, she has to kind of she says
- 42:51Speaker 1: to herself like, I'm high fane now I'm literally immortal. Yeah,
- 42:55Speaker 1: so what a dup? Like she says to herself, I
- 42:59Speaker 1: have time to face what I've done, but right now
- 43:02Speaker 1: is like time to rest. Yeah, She's like giving herself
- 43:04Speaker 1: a break, and she's like, one day I will ask
- 43:06Speaker 1: about the fairies. I killed his family, but now was
- 43:08Speaker 1: in the day exactly, And you're like, And then they
- 43:11Speaker 1: get and they smell the fresh air of the spring
- 43:13Speaker 1: Court and they see the manner and she looks at
- 43:14Speaker 1: Talent and she says, let's go home.
- 43:15Speaker 2: And the book ends, Okay, so order of operations is
- 43:21Speaker 2: everyone who has been reading along time to pull up.
- 43:25Speaker 2: We use Amazon, your preferred method of ordering the book.
- 43:29Speaker 2: I know a lot of you already have it, but
- 43:30Speaker 2: this is fun.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Oh shit, I put the AMAX on my phone so
- 43:33Speaker 1: I can order it in mind. Okay, you can do
- 43:34Speaker 1: it too. What's the new book called? Again? A Court
- 43:40Speaker 1: of Mist and Fury? Okay, a Court of Mist and
- 43:43Speaker 1: fury court. And we have one thing to ask of
- 43:46Speaker 1: all the baddies while Jake's ordering our book, is we
- 43:50Speaker 1: have options for how we are going to consume the
- 43:53Speaker 1: next book. Yes, a lot of comments have said dramatized audio,
- 43:58Speaker 1: so we will do whatever you want. If you want
- 44:01Speaker 1: us to do the next book Club in dramatized audio,
- 44:04Speaker 1: we can do that and come with our recaps. Or
- 44:06Speaker 1: do you want us to continue in the same format
- 44:09Speaker 1: we've been doing reading, or another slight option is Jake
- 44:12Speaker 1: reads and I do dramatized audio because I know you
- 44:15Speaker 1: like reading more. I do like the reading. Yeah, I
- 44:18Speaker 1: wonder if it would be good to listen. Yeah, so, yeah,
- 44:20Speaker 1: a few questions, So answer those questions. We'll order two
- 44:22Speaker 1: books regardless. Yea, yeah, we still want them because they
- 44:24Speaker 1: look cool. And then also yeah, and then also in
- 44:28Speaker 1: terms of format of the episode, did you guys like that? Yeah?
- 44:31Speaker 1: Was that good? Pretty in depth? Very in depth. I
- 44:34Speaker 1: wonder if it's better less recapping more of our thoughts. Yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 1: that's what I want to know. So like that was
- 44:39Speaker 1: a lot of recap. Yeah, so what's our would you
- 44:42Speaker 1: guys prefer thoughts like a twenty minute episode of thoughts purely? Yeah?
- 44:45Speaker 2: But now the book is ordered, we have to do
- 44:48Speaker 2: our predictions. What's our predictions for the next book? It
- 44:53Speaker 2: could go anywhere, honestly, So they've got to find out
- 44:57Speaker 2: that thing that recent looked at the end about favor.
- 44:59Speaker 2: So I think a lot of the next book is
- 45:00Speaker 2: her figuring out.
- 45:01Speaker 1: How to be a fairy. Yeah, she's true. She's going
- 45:04Speaker 1: to really like come into her own.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Yeah, She's going to figure out all the differences in
- 45:07Speaker 2: her powers and everything, and I think she's going to
- 45:09Speaker 2: become like a beast obvious.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Okay, I was going to say I think she's special obviously,
- 45:17Speaker 1: and she is personally. I think that she is a
- 45:22Speaker 1: lot more powerful than the rest, maybe not as powerful
- 45:25Speaker 1: as the high lords, but I do think she's going
- 45:28Speaker 1: to be like a much a very very strong high face.
- 45:31Speaker 1: So like better than Lucian, better than all these other
- 45:34Speaker 1: high fay that we know, you know what I mean?
- 45:36Speaker 2: Does the King of high Burns still want to kill
- 45:39Speaker 2: the mortals?
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yes? So yeah, that's where I'm going.
- 45:43Speaker 2: I'm thinking she's going to figure out how to use
- 45:45Speaker 2: her powers, and her whole ploy is going to be
- 45:48Speaker 2: I reckon, She's still going to become a queen of
- 45:50Speaker 2: something okay, and her whole purpose is to save the
- 45:54Speaker 2: mortal realm from high Burn Okay, something like that.
- 45:59Speaker 1: And she convinced all the other high lords to help her, Yes,
- 46:04Speaker 1: and they already all love her. She saved most of them.
- 46:07Speaker 1: They owe her a favorite. They brought it back to life.
- 46:09Speaker 1: But also, so are you agreeing with that? Look? I
- 46:12Speaker 1: don't disagree. I do think that this next book is
- 46:15Speaker 1: going to be apparently it's the best one. I don't
- 46:18Speaker 1: think for some reason, I don't think this book is
- 46:21Speaker 1: going to be the book that Highburn is trying to
- 46:23Speaker 1: kill them all. I think it's going to be in
- 46:25Speaker 1: later and what there's three more books after this. I
- 46:28Speaker 1: think another challenge arises in this book, and basically there's
- 46:33Speaker 1: going to be there's going to be another challenge that arises. Wait,
- 46:37Speaker 1: just like another thing happens, right, maybe it is a
- 46:39Speaker 1: threat from high Burn to just Priythian and not the
- 46:42Speaker 1: Mortal Realms yet. But there's going to be so much
- 46:46Speaker 1: back and forth of her going from spring Court to
- 46:49Speaker 1: Night Court. So I think that what's going to happen.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Is because wait, I might be reading between the lines here,
- 46:55Speaker 2: because everyone said the second book is the best book.
- 46:58Speaker 2: I'm thinking she's going to figure out how to fight
- 47:00Speaker 2: her love between Tamlin and Recent and there's just going
- 47:03Speaker 2: to be a lot of fucking and a lot of
- 47:05Speaker 2: love and a lot of dates, and she's going to
- 47:08Speaker 2: choose one, and I think Tamlin dies.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Fuck off. That's what I'm thinking. Okay, here's what I
- 47:15Speaker 1: And they.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Find out that Tamlin's love wasn't real and he was
- 47:17Speaker 2: only doing it for ulterior motives to save everything. She
- 47:20Speaker 2: knows that, yeah, but I think he figures out for
- 47:22Speaker 2: himself and she realizes it down the track because now
- 47:25Speaker 2: she's got time and there's not all this Amaranth.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Bull should around. I hear. Here's what I think happens.
- 47:29Speaker 1: She's at the spring Court. Every time she's at the Spring Court,
- 47:31Speaker 1: sex scene. Yeah, all right, sexy scene between her and Tamblin.
- 47:34Speaker 1: It'd be rough, could be sweet, who knows? All right? Yeah,
- 47:37Speaker 1: and then she goes to the night Court for one
- 47:40Speaker 1: week every month. Sexual tension building. She's going there months
- 47:45Speaker 1: on end for one week. Each time she comes back,
- 47:47Speaker 1: she's making love to Tamlin. Okay. One of the times
- 47:50Speaker 1: she makes love to Tamlin, she thinks it's recent, like
- 47:53Speaker 1: she she imagines it's And then the next time she
- 47:58Speaker 1: goes to the night Court, sexual tension too much, crazy,
- 48:01Speaker 1: Eventually they fuck okay, okay.
- 48:04Speaker 2: And then my final prediction is also that Durian's eye
- 48:07Speaker 2: and the bone that was lost. I think they was
- 48:10Speaker 2: going to have to find that to save the mortal land.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Damn should destroy it. Yeah, finally like Durian rest. Yeah,
- 48:19Speaker 1: these are great predictions. We could write a book. I
- 48:24Speaker 1: can't wait to see how wrong we are. Okay, guys,
- 48:27Speaker 1: well this is exciting. That's our episode of just fucking
- 48:30Speaker 1: seven chapters. Yeah, but a lot of things that are
- 48:35Speaker 1: new around here, so please let us know all your thoughts.
- 48:38Speaker 1: And I think it's good if we both read them
- 48:40Speaker 1: all and come to in a fortnight's time. The Bay's
- 48:43Speaker 1: Book Club will be here when our books arrive, and
- 48:45Speaker 1: we will be how many chapters deep into the second one?
- 48:49Speaker 1: You want to go seven again? Started? Seven seems to
- 48:51Speaker 1: be good.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Seven is quite good, and it's slow, and it's enough
- 48:53Speaker 2: to get the information out and.
- 48:55Speaker 1: New books exciting.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and we'll also see if we want to do
- 48:59Speaker 2: dramatized audio.
- 49:00Speaker 1: We'll start with both. We'll come with well, we'll see.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Let's actually based off the comments of this episode, answering
- 49:06Speaker 1: the question of do you like this one where we
- 49:09Speaker 1: really really recap or would you prefer just feelings and thoughts.
- 49:12Speaker 1: If it's just feelings and thoughts, it's probably better to
- 49:14Speaker 1: do more chapters and just do a little short recap
- 49:17Speaker 1: and then just like feelings, it's still very much in
- 49:19Speaker 1: the air. Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 2: And also next week you have a little surprise, but
- 49:22Speaker 2: I'm not going to tell you what that is.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Sweet,
