- 0:01In Shakespeare's, play The Tragedy of Othello, the more of
- 0:05Venice, the vital reaction of jealousy is explored in
- 0:09considerable depth. The Title Character, Othello is
- 0:14married to a young woman with whom he is passionately in love.
- 0:19In the normal sense of the word. Yago.
- 0:22Who wants to bring down a fellow systematically poisons.
- 0:26Othello's mind with thoughts. That his wife is cheating on him
- 0:31and selectively shows with ello proofs, which convinces him of
- 0:36the veracity of the case. He undergoes a fit of rage and
- 0:40kills his wife, only realizing afterwards that he has lost the
- 0:45one person for whom. He had a deep and passionate
- 0:48affection, and that he has been Related with falsehood, he then
- 0:54commits suicide. Disregarding the motivations of
- 0:59Iago and all the subplots. The play itself provides a clear
- 1:04and accurate description of the way jealousy acts upon the mind
- 1:08and praise upon the vital being of, man, We can say that the
- 1:13case as portrayed by Shakespeare is Extreme but what we cannot
- 1:19say is that for people living an ordinary life filled with
- 1:23relationships of various sorts that jealousy does not arise.
- 1:29We can also put aside the connection between sexual
- 1:32connection and jealousy is jealousy can and does arise in
- 1:38all kinds of relationships in some cases disciples living
- 1:43together in a spiritual Community experience jealousy
- 1:48because of a perceived difference in the intensity of
- 1:51the smile, bestowed on one person, rather than themselves
- 1:56by the guru. SRI aurobindo takes a close look
- 2:00at this force of jealousy and shows how it arises as a
- 2:04consequence of a possessive Instinct in the vital nature,
- 2:09For a spiritual Seeker. This type of vital reaction is
- 2:13subject to being reviewed and changed over time through the
- 2:17change in Consciousness that reduces and then eventually it
- 2:21eliminates the Reliance of the ego personality and the desire
- 2:26soul, as the psychic being comes forward and the Consciousness,
- 2:32shifts to the spiritual standpoint.
- 2:36SRI aurobindo notes quote. I do not see why you make such a
- 2:41big difference between the corals and jealousy over other
- 2:45women, and corals and jealousy, over other attractions not of a
- 2:49sexual character. They both spring from the same
- 2:53primary impulse the possessive instinct which is at the base of
- 2:58ordinary vital love. In the latter case, as often
- 3:02sexual jealousy is not possible. The Mind supports itself on
- 3:07other motives which seem to equate reasonable and
- 3:11justifiable. It may not be conscious that it
- 3:15is being pushed by the vital, but the corals and the vivacity
- 3:19of the disagreement are there all the same whether you had or
- 3:24had not both forms of it. Is not very material and does
- 3:29not make things better or worse. It is the getting rid of the
- 3:33Instinct itself that matters, whether from the psychological
- 3:37point of view, or from that of a spiritual change and quote,
