- 0:00Last night was good. I had fun. You did? Good.
- 0:02I did. I don't know if it's just like since us
- 0:05becoming friends now when I'm in a space, I'm
- 0:08like... You think about the sound environment?
- 0:10Well, I'm like, I know that Kara can't hear me
- 0:12right now. And then I have started to be like,
- 0:14and I hate that. And second, now that I'm thinking
- 0:18about the sound environment, I'm also realizing
- 0:20that I have negative feelings about the sound
- 0:22environment. Were you playing music? Like soft
- 0:25Christmas jazz, very low in the background. Okay.
- 0:28I feel like I used to have parties and they didn't
- 0:32echo like the way they do now. I don't know if
- 0:34I've just gotten louder friends. Maybe. Do you
- 0:38have less soft things to absorb? I would argue
- 0:41I have more soft things. If anything, I've added
- 0:43some stuff. Well, no one wanted to come in here.
- 0:45That's true. Paolo was making fun of me because
- 0:47he was like, I just was watching you constantly
- 0:49pull people into your sensory cave. I know, you
- 0:51were really trying to. And be like, come in,
- 0:53come in. Get more people in here. It's because
- 0:55my ears hurt. Also, people love to congregate.
- 0:59For reference listeners, my whole apartment is
- 1:02very decorated, especially right now, and usually
- 1:05very mood lit. It's a fun apartment. And people
- 1:08love to congregate in my brightly lit, not festive
- 1:12at all kitchen. That's true. They love the kitchen.
- 1:14They love the kitchen. And it's probably the
- 1:17least functional, like, fun space to be in in
- 1:20my apartment. It's near the drinks. Could that
- 1:22be why? And also, maybe it's easier to see people's
- 1:26faces when you're speaking. Maybe everyone's
- 1:28hard of hearing. Maybe. But I also have a lot
- 1:31of friends that are autistic and don't like the
- 1:33big light. So, like, I gotta find... You gotta
- 1:35do a poll of all your party goers and see where
- 1:38they like to congregate and why. Yeah. I basically
- 1:41also, after you left, started, like, going up
- 1:44to people and being like, you can sit. Because
- 1:46no one was sat... I was like, someone has to
- 1:49sit down. OK. And everyone was like, but no one
- 1:51else is sitting. I'm like, OK, one group has
- 1:53to. And then others will follow. Yeah. That's
- 1:56why I was the first to eat s'mores. Yes. I said,
- 1:58who's going to be brave enough? That was my job.
- 2:01To do this. And it's because a Trader Joe's person
- 2:04was checking us out. I was asking him about the
- 2:07graham crackers I was getting. And I was like,
- 2:09we're doing s'mores at this party. I'm a little
- 2:11worried about it. I feel like people aren't actually
- 2:14going to eat the s'mores. He was basically like,
- 2:16well, you have to make sure that someone leads
- 2:18by example. Because everyone will be scared.
- 2:20And that was me. I stepped up. How was Ireland?
- 2:23It was really fun. I had a lovely time. We stayed
- 2:26with some friends in Dun Laoghaire. Which is
- 2:29a town in Dublin. We called it like the Forest
- 2:32Hills of Dublin. We only spent one day in Dublin.
- 2:35So I didn't get to really see a lot of it. But
- 2:37it's a really pretty city. And I did a little
- 2:39road trip to Cork, Killarney, and Galway. That
- 2:43was really fun. We did not get a chance to go
- 2:46to Deaf Village because it was the holiday season,
- 2:48and I should've thought of that. But next time we
- 2:51go, I will definitely go to Deaf Village. Yeah,
- 2:54you think you're going to go back? Oh, for sure.
- 2:56Highly recommend going to Ireland, guys. It's
- 2:58really fun. I also think they had a high respect
- 3:01for sign language because they have such a high
- 3:04respect for indigenous languages because they
- 3:08are a colonized country rather than a colonizing
- 3:10country. Yeah. So there's a lot of pride over
- 3:13the Irish language. And I think there is a lot
- 3:14of respect for sign languages as well. I noticed
- 3:18a lot of commercials had Irish sign language,
- 3:20which is pretty cool. Oh, that's sick. Yeah.
- 3:22Wow. And like no one's seemed fazed when I had my
- 3:26deaf time at a coffee shop. They're like, sure.
- 3:28Yeah. Highly recommend going to Ireland. The
- 3:30whole country is like that meme that's like when
- 3:33you're cool with everybody. Yes. Like Ireland
- 3:35is like. Everyone is delightful. Everyone except,
- 3:38they're like, we love everyone except fucking
- 3:40England. No, literally. Should we get to the
- 3:43show? We should get to the show. Cool. Okay.
- 3:59It's. Season 1 .5, really. Yeah. I feel like
- 4:03I'm like, oh, they got a budget. They got a budget
- 4:05now. Because they got all those extras for East
- 4:07West Fest. But this is season 1, episode 11.
- 4:10It came out January 3rd, 2012. So they had their
- 4:14little fall break. And then this aired, in the
- 4:17winter. Just like we had our little winter break.
- 4:19Welcome back, guys. Yay, welcome back. Thanks
- 4:21for listening. And it's titled Starry Night. Wow,
- 4:24I wonder what painting. I wonder what painting
- 4:26that could be. And I think that's... Only because
- 4:29it's that one scene where Emmett and Bay look
- 4:31up at the sky at night with stars. I don't think
- 4:35the writers are really thinking that hard. I
- 4:36think they just think of one still from the.
- 4:39From the episode and they're like ah yep that's
- 4:41the painting. They said time to do our big one.
- 4:43Yeah so we start off with Bay and Emmett and they're
- 4:46Facetiming on her iPhone 3g um and I guess because
- 4:50the way she's in the frame Emmett cannot see her
- 4:53face or her hands at the same time. Yeah. So he's
- 4:56not understanding what she's saying. Which is
- 4:58funny because then Daphne swoops in. Yanks the
- 5:01phone from her hand and basically does the same thing
- 5:03just framed better. But basically what Bay was
- 5:06trying to tell him is that Angelo is moving to
- 5:08Kansas City. And that was it. And then there's
- 5:11a family meeting about Angelo. And John lays
- 5:14out three rules. One is that Angelo cannot come
- 5:17to the house. Which feels good for protective
- 5:20for Daphne. Yeah, I think that's fair. Two, he
- 5:23can't be with Bay and Daphne alone. And three,
- 5:26all calls need to be monitored. I think the last
- 5:29one's a little crazy. Yeah, I think that's...
- 5:31He's being a little intense. Yeah. And Daphne's
- 5:34like, I'm fine with these rules. And Bay is like,
- 5:36you are preventing me from any chance of getting
- 5:39to know him. Yeah. And I really feel for Bay.
- 5:42I feel like everyone's ganging up on her. I know.
- 5:45Literally, someone says, there aren't sides here.
- 5:48And someone else goes, yes, there are. They say
- 5:51it. Bay and Daphne at the same time say, yes,
- 5:53there are sides. And like, again, Bay doesn't
- 5:56have any like. We're going to say poor Bay for
- 5:59the entirety of the show. For the rest of the
- 6:01show. But just especially in this meeting, it
- 6:03is so fucked. And she says later in the episode,
- 6:06like, Daphne gets access to my dad whenever she
- 6:08wants. And I have to schedule time. And go through
- 6:12all these hoops. And go through all these hoops.
- 6:14And everyone is expressing their negative feelings
- 6:17about it at me all the time. It really isn't
- 6:19fair. It's not. It really sucks. At this point,
- 6:23also, Daphne goes like, can't you guys do something
- 6:26about the fact that he's moved to Kansas City?
- 6:28Like, she wants him deported. She was like, he
- 6:30can't be in the city. I'm like, you can't control
- 6:32that. Yeah, I feel like at this point, her and
- 6:35Angelo should just, like, sit down and hash it
- 6:38out. But, yeah. It doesn't seem like Daphne is
- 6:40agreeable to anything right now. No. And I understand
- 6:44why. I think she needs to, like, dump all of
- 6:46her anger on him. But also, I think she needs
- 6:48to yell at her mom. I know. She should have yelled
- 6:50at Regina more in this episode. And Bay's like,
- 6:53I'm sorry, girl, but Angelo and I, we're going
- 6:56to a jazz club tonight. Which... I guess it's
- 6:59for all ages? When we got there, I was like,
- 7:01this does not seem like it's for all ages. No,
- 7:03and we're going to get to that. I have thoughts
- 7:05on it. And then East West Fest, they've got money
- 7:09now. There's so many extras. We have a new location.
- 7:14Yeah, new location unlocked. And then it's revealed
- 7:17that obviously they're not opening for the Cold
- 7:20War Kids at the festival. I can't believe Toby
- 7:22believed that. He's so dumb. And Wilke's like,
- 7:25I can't believe you would think that either.
- 7:26So they're playing on the D stage. Stage D. Way
- 7:29out. And I guess they're playing. The same time
- 7:32as Arcade Fire. This really dated the show. I'll
- 7:35be honest. I would go now. I like Arcade Fire.
- 7:37I had so many questions about this fictional
- 7:39music festival. Like, is it free? Is it just
- 7:43camping? Like later we see just people camping
- 7:46like wherever at the festival, which is just
- 7:49like not how festival camping works. I have never
- 7:51been to a music festival, so I'm kind of clueless.
- 7:54So I have and it's a lot of bureaucracy. It's
- 7:57a lot of like wristbands and different sections
- 8:00for different people. You don't sleep at a music
- 8:03festival. You can camp at a music festival. Oh,
- 8:06you can? Yeah, but it costs so much money and
- 8:08usually you have to reserve your spot months
- 8:11in advance. Obviously, this is like a small regional
- 8:13music festival, but then the headliners are like
- 8:16kind of huge bands. Yeah, Cold War Kids and
- 8:19Arcade Fire are quite a big get, especially for
- 8:21that time. Yeah, so this doesn't, it doesn't
- 8:24feel very realistic. Points off for the fact
- 8:26that I was like, where are they? Later, there's
- 8:29a lake that Daphne's like putting her feet in
- 8:31and there's no one around swimming in it. Everyone
- 8:34would be getting high on molly and jumping in that
- 8:36lake. Yeah, it's just not realistic, but that's
- 8:38okay. This is a TV show. And then Kathryn,
- 8:41back at the house, she rents a horror movie for
- 8:44her and Daphne to watch. She says it came out
- 8:47in closed captions and would we watch it together.
- 8:49And I, to me, that's love. That was really sweet.
- 8:53If someone recommended that, wanted to watch
- 8:55a movie that they don't necessarily enjoy, but
- 8:59they know it's accessible and fun for me, that's
- 9:01love. Kathryn also makes a reference. She says,
- 9:03I haven't seen a horror movie since Amityville
- 9:05Horror. And the way she said it made me think
- 9:09that it was like a reference. I think she's saying
- 9:11it came out a very long time ago and I'm old.
- 9:13But also, is she in it? Or is she like in a sequel?
- 9:18I actually don't know. Google it. Yeah, she's
- 9:21in Amityville 2. That went over my head. Just
- 9:24the way she said it, she was like almost winking
- 9:27at the camera. She plays... A babysitter in Amityville
- 9:312. When did that come out? 1984. That makes sense.
- 9:36Babysitter. She would have been pretty young.
- 9:39Yeah. Because my first guess was like, do they
- 9:41go see that movie in Back to the Future? I haven't
- 9:45seen Back to the Future since I was like 12.
- 9:47Yeah, me either. Even earlier than that. I'd
- 9:50like to watch it again, though. It's really good.
- 9:52I love Lea Thompson. Bay and Regina are also
- 9:55having mother -daughter time. For once. She's
- 9:58painting her nails. And Bay just basically asked
- 10:01Regina to talk to John and see if he can back
- 10:03off about her meeting with Angelo. When did John
- 10:06forgive Regina? Like, it hasn't been that many
- 10:10episodes since they found out that she knew.
- 10:12No. And I think that Angelo showing up has just
- 10:14overshadowed the fact that they're also pissed
- 10:16at Regina still. Yeah. Because, like, Regina
- 10:19should not. She shows up and she's like, I have
- 10:22a coupon for the car wash, but I think it's expired.
- 10:26And he's like, well, we can fix that. Kind of
- 10:29a weird scene. And then she's like, let's have
- 10:31a heart to heart. And he seems so cordial and
- 10:34nice to her. Weren't you like, I'm going to get
- 10:37custody of my children and have her not in my
- 10:39house anymore, like three episodes ago? Full 180.
- 10:43But instead he's like, okay, so I won't go see
- 10:46Angelo. How about you chaperone instead? Which
- 10:48like he trusts Regina to do all of a sudden?
- 10:51They all seem to be on the same side of being
- 10:54sort of anti -Angelo. Except Regina is not anti
- 10:57-Angelo. But they don't really know that. Oh,
- 10:59yeah. The lawyer shows up at the Kennish house.
- 11:01Yes. Because they have a plan next week to meet
- 11:05the nurse who Angelo found that worked a double
- 11:08shift. But the lawyer is telling Kathryn, like,
- 11:10something smells fishy. I'm worried that Angelo
- 11:13promised her a cut of the money from the case
- 11:15and maybe that she's going to lie and that will
- 11:18put us all in trouble. Yeah, but she comes to
- 11:21the house and just privately talks to Kathryn.
- 11:24She's like, I just wanted to make sure that you
- 11:26know that you have a voice, too. And Kathryn's
- 11:28like, yeah, like I'm an equal part of this lawsuit.
- 11:31And this comes up later. And it comes up later.
- 11:33But later on, she says to John, you railroad
- 11:37me sometimes. Is that a term you've heard before?
- 11:40Yes. OK, because I thought it I like steamroll.
- 11:43It's like steamroll. So I think it's the same
- 11:45thing. I understand it has the same meaning,
- 11:48but I guess I'd never heard that before. Yeah,
- 11:50I guess railroad is just the tracks. Yeah, it's
- 11:53thrown around a lot in this episode in a way
- 11:55that I'm like, I don't think that word means
- 11:57what you think. Yeah, I think steamroll would
- 11:59be better because railroad, you're just talking
- 12:00about the tracks rather than like the train itself
- 12:04going over you. To me, it almost feels sexual.
- 12:08Like you railroad. You railed. You railed. It
- 12:11makes me think of railed. Yeah. Sure. You railroaded.
- 12:14So I was just like, yeah, I was getting distracted.
- 12:16Oh, and there's also. Yeah, that's true. A lot
- 12:20of words. If you railroad someone, you're giving
- 12:23a to the train conductor. That's my definition
- 12:27now. Perfect. I love that. We should popularize
- 12:29that. Thank you. Bring back trains. OK, so then,
- 12:32yeah, Regina is like, OK, I guess I'm going on
- 12:35this daddy daughter date with Bay and Angelo.
- 12:38And she comes home to tell Daphne. Yeah, and
- 12:41Daphne is once again the backbone of the household.
- 12:44Making dinner for the family. She's making eggplant
- 12:46parm. Yeah, she's making dinner and she's like,
- 12:48do you want a salad too? Like she's the housewife.
- 12:51I know she likes to cook. But it's every meal.
- 12:54It's a home -cooked meal every day, it seems.
- 12:56I've never seen them eat leftovers. No. Doesn't
- 12:59she have a life? Regina, for the love of God.
- 13:01Just like get in there and put some Stouffers together
- 13:04or something. I don't know. You can do it. You
- 13:06can do it. And she's like. I'm actually not coming
- 13:09to dinner. I'm going on a date with my ex -husband
- 13:12who I've raised you to hate. But Regina's like,
- 13:15I think I painted too harsh a picture of him
- 13:18and now you hate him too much. Girl. Like, she's
- 13:21not even that apologetic about it. She's just
- 13:23like, oops, I think you have the wrong idea.
- 13:25Yeah, he was actually nice. She's like, I actually
- 13:27lied. I actually misrepresented it so it'd be
- 13:29easier for you. It's so fucked. It is. Daphne
- 13:33has no idea what's true and what's not. No. And
- 13:36Regina's a liar. She cannot fathom the idea
- 13:39of Angelo being in anyone's life because that's
- 13:42the way Regina talked about him or the lack thereof.
- 13:45Or maybe Regina never talked about him so how
- 13:47could she have any positive idea of him? Yeah.
- 13:50And Regina's like, well, there were good times
- 13:52and Daphne's like, well, I never heard of it.
- 13:54Yeah. Why would I know? I like, I have so much
- 13:58sympathy for her. Well, Daphne angrily storms
- 14:00off into a room and she tries to phone Emmett,
- 14:03but I guess there's no service at East West.
- 14:06I don't know, but the screen being like a headshot
- 14:08of him and it was like, Emmett Bledsoe unavailable.
- 14:11And he had his huge throwing up a peace sign.
- 14:13Love. It was funny. But we're back at East West Fest
- 14:15and the boys are trying to promote their gig.
- 14:18Yeah, they're fucking lying to everyone. Fucking
- 14:21lying about what genre of music they are. Wilke
- 14:24says at one point they're ska. Yeah, he sees a punk
- 14:27guy. He's like, we're heavy metal. Yeah. And
- 14:30we meet Simone Sinclair. New character just dropped.
- 14:33And we know it's her because she walks up and
- 14:35Wilke has to say, Simone Sinclair, to let us
- 14:39know. Who is this actress? She is played by Maiara
- 14:43Walsh. And she was Meena in Cory in the House.
- 14:46Yes. And she was also in Desperate Housewives.
- 14:49Yes, she was. She was. I love her, but I feel
- 14:53like she always plays kind of an evil character.
- 14:55She's really good at playing an evil character.
- 14:57She has a great bitch face, respectfully. And
- 15:00we can tell right away that the vibes with her
- 15:03and Toby are really strange. Yeah. Toby's like,
- 15:06Hi Simone. And they're making weird eyes. She's
- 15:09also very intrigued by Emmett. Yeah, who's this
- 15:11deaf boy? Even more intrigued when she finds
- 15:14out that he's Bay's boyfriend. Yes. Which, like,
- 15:17back off, girl. And we, the audience, finds out
- 15:20that she is Bay's ex -best friend. Yes, Toby
- 15:23alludes to a friend breakup situation, not very
- 15:26tactfully. After the introduction, she's like,
- 15:29I gotta run. I'm seeing Helen Mirren's Cleavage
- 15:31play. Great band name. Great band name, which
- 15:34is not real. I googled it. I googled Helen Mirren's
- 15:37Cleavage and I just got pictures of her boobs.
- 15:39That's not a terrible result. No, it wasn't.
- 15:41We're back at the Kennish house and Bay is getting
- 15:44ready for her daddy -daughter date. And she's
- 15:47wearing a tight... studded black mini dress yeah
- 15:51with a leather belt yeah and then John. With leggings
- 15:54underneath. And leggings underneath. And John's
- 15:57like change your clothes. She has this moment
- 15:59with Kathryn before John comes in and says
- 16:01that where Kathryn has that mom instinct for
- 16:06like saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
- 16:08Like I think Kathryn was about to say something
- 16:11and then she was like you look nice. Well she
- 16:13definitely was but then she goes like out of
- 16:16the blue they're standing there she goes, you
- 16:18aren't going to call him dad, are you? And that's
- 16:20just so like a thought that would pop into a
- 16:23mom's head. And they'd be like, this is a perfectly
- 16:26normal thing to say out loud. Don't put that
- 16:29on her. No. That's an inside thought. And then
- 16:32it's also an inside thought, John, to come out
- 16:34and be like, you look too sexy to go on a date
- 16:37with your dad. Stop sexualizing your 16 -year
- 16:39-old daughter. Yeah. I always thought it was
- 16:41weird when parents said that. I'm like, why are
- 16:44you? Even putting them in that context, like
- 16:47it's your brain doing that. I also think it's
- 16:50a safety thing. But like she's going with Regina.
- 16:52That's true. She's going with her mom and that's
- 16:55a different situation. If she was, I don't know,
- 16:57maybe going alone to a party. I don't know. She's
- 17:00a teenager. Let her express herself. Yeah. Let
- 17:02her show off her boobs at the jazz club if she
- 17:05wants. She wants to look grown up. She wants
- 17:08to look grown up because she's going to a very
- 17:10adult venue with her dad instead of like a cafe
- 17:12on a Sunday morning. Yeah. I know they should
- 17:15be getting breakfast. They should not. They should
- 17:16be going to a diner and getting pancakes. Also
- 17:19to go and listen to jazz. Don't you want to talk?
- 17:22And then Regina shows up in a very nice blue
- 17:24dress. She's going on a date with her man. She's
- 17:28going on a date and her daughter is going to
- 17:29be there. It's so weird. We're back at the festival.
- 17:32They're complaining about the beer being $7.
- 17:35That was so painful to me. I wish beer was $7.
- 17:39I know. And then they're like, you know what
- 17:41we should do? Change our band name to Free Booze.
- 17:44Toby says it jokingly, but then Emmett and Wilke
- 17:48are like, that is genius. They're so dumb. They're
- 17:51so dumb. So they start writing on the back of
- 17:53the flyers, quote unquote, Free Booze playing
- 17:56today, stage D, whatever time. Like, obviously
- 17:59that's not going to go well. Now we're at the
- 18:01jazz club. This is a date spot. It's mood lighting.
- 18:04It's a nice little lamp in the corner. People
- 18:06are drinking wine. There's jazz piano playing.
- 18:09And then we find out that this is a spot that
- 18:11Angelo took Regina. I think that's weird to bring
- 18:14your daughter. They're kind of reminiscing about
- 18:17it. And she would come when she was pregnant
- 18:19with Bay. And Bay seems interested in the fact
- 18:23that they're talking about like, oh, yeah, we
- 18:24used to come here when. Yeah, because no one's
- 18:26giving her a grain of information. Yeah. So she
- 18:29thinks that's cool. So I think that it was the
- 18:31right call in that sense, if that was his motivation.
- 18:35I just think maybe later in the relationship
- 18:37once you've gathered more of an understanding
- 18:39of each other. I mean, he's not doing it well.
- 18:43Does Bay have any aunts and uncles? We know nothing.
- 18:45And we still know nothing because Angelo and
- 18:48Regina start fighting almost immediately. Yeah,
- 18:51he orders a wine and then he offers Regina wine
- 18:55and she goes, no, I'm sober. And she's like,
- 18:57how could you forget that? Which I agree with
- 18:59her. I think I would remember that. But I think as
- 19:02the adult in this situation, you can keep that
- 19:05thought to yourself because it's not about you.
- 19:07She says at the beginning of this, this night
- 19:10is for you guys. Like, act like I'm not here.
- 19:12The two of them start bickering in front of Bay.
- 19:14Yeah. And then she's like, how could you forget
- 19:16that? I don't know, Regina. Shut up. And poor
- 19:18Bay is just sitting there. Yeah. It's upsetting.
- 19:21Kathryn is at home. She's making caramel popcorn.
- 19:23She's getting ready to watch the horror movie. She's cooking
- 19:25up a storm in there. There was so much popcorn.
- 19:28It was the biggest bowl of popcorn I've ever
- 19:30seen. And she's rocking a squirrel apron. I don't
- 19:33know if it's the same one. It's the same one.
- 19:35I finally saw it. It's says squirrely. That's really
- 19:37cute. It's so cute. That's her look. And Daphne
- 19:40says, sorry, girl. Rain check. I'm going to East
- 19:42West Fest. I had a question about how you interpreted
- 19:44this. Obviously, she's going through a lot. Do
- 19:46you think this is purely innocent? And she's
- 19:49like, I really need my friend right now. And
- 19:51I need to not be in this house. So I'm going
- 19:53to go. Or do you think she's like, while Bay is
- 19:56out at dinner with Angelo as revenge I'm gonna
- 19:59fucking drive out there and try to fuck her boyfriend.
- 20:01I think two things can be true. I don't think
- 20:02she wanted to fuck Emmett but I think she was like
- 20:05I want to get out of here and get some space
- 20:07and I need to confide in my friend who I miss
- 20:09very much and I'm going to take advantage of
- 20:11this time because Bay is hanging out with Angelo
- 20:14and also if something does happen with Emmett, great.
- 20:18And she also doesn't help herself because she
- 20:20Does what she does later. So, yeah, she's like,
- 20:23I'm going to take off. She's being, like, innocent
- 20:25and sweet, too. Kathryn's really hurt, but
- 20:28she's like, okay. But it's okay, because she
- 20:30ends up watching the horror movie with John.
- 20:31And they're being so cute. Also, do you remember
- 20:343D TVs? Because they're wearing their little
- 20:363D glasses to watch the movie. That was a 3D
- 20:38TV? Yeah. Or was the... The movie's 3D. Okay,
- 20:42but the TV was not 3D. But, yeah. But I do remember
- 20:45they used to have them. Back in the day, you
- 20:46couldn't watch 3D movies. like without a 3D tv
- 20:50like it had to be 3d capable. Yes I think I remember
- 20:54that. I never my parents never really bought like
- 20:573d dvds. So my brother bought a like special 3d
- 21:01capability tv when Avatar first came out in 3d
- 21:05on BluRay okay And I remember he was like,
- 21:09put the glasses on. Like, we're going to watch
- 21:11this. Was it like the cardboard red and blue
- 21:14ones? I think he actually got like nicer ones.
- 21:16We'd already seen it in theaters. I was like.
- 21:18It used to make me so dizzy. I remember seeing
- 21:20Spy Kids 2 specifically in theaters in 3D. Yes.
- 21:23And getting so dizzy. But they're being cute
- 21:26watching it. But then they pause it because they're
- 21:29not really into horror movies. And then Kathryn
- 21:32has a moment of being like, I hate Regina still.
- 21:35Like, I can't believe we're entangled with all
- 21:36her bad choices. I know. And then John's like,
- 21:39well, at least we're seeing that nurse from the
- 21:42lawsuit. And Kathryn is still very wary about
- 21:45it. But John is, like, jubilant about the money.
- 21:49He's railroading her. He's railroading her. In
- 21:52a sense. He's railroading her. In a sense. Yes,
- 21:55exactly. And he's like, let's just go read. And
- 21:57turns off the TV without checking in on her.
- 21:59And, like, gets up and leaves. And she's like,
- 22:02oh. Okay. Okay, bye, John. I've been railroaded.
- 22:05Well, Kathryn, she just wanted a little mommy
- 22:07daughter night. I know. She was trying. It's okay.
- 22:11Daphne gets to East West Fest. I don't know how
- 22:13far this festival is. It's very unclear. But
- 22:16she leaves at night and she gets there at night.
- 22:18Yeah. This, I was cringing out so bad. Well,
- 22:21first of all, she somehow manages to find Emmett's
- 22:24tent. In the sea of tents. All the tents look
- 22:27exactly the same. Well, but his has a little
- 22:29Gallaudet University patch on it. Great catch.
- 22:32I did not see that. That and then like a sticker
- 22:35for Guitar Face. And then she looks inside and
- 22:37she crawls. She unzips this tent and crawls right
- 22:41in. Snuggles up to him. She snuggled up to him
- 22:44inches from his face, grinning ear to ear. He
- 22:47doesn't wake up. He doesn't wake up. That was
- 22:49my question for you is like, are you a really
- 22:51heavy sleeper with your implants off? Because there's
- 22:54a lot of jostling. No, I would say I'm a light
- 22:57sleeper. Because one, I can feel the vibrations
- 22:59of someone walking into the room. I think when
- 23:02A and I first dated and they came in the room
- 23:04in the middle of the night, coming from work,
- 23:06I would wake up. But then I got used to it because
- 23:08my body was like, that is your wife. It's okay.
- 23:11You're safe. But I think if you're sleeping in
- 23:13a tent outside with like a thousand other people,
- 23:17I think your body would be maybe on higher alert
- 23:19if someone walked into your tent. I guess Emmett's
- 23:22a man. So maybe he doesn't have instincts. Maybe
- 23:25he got a lot of $7 beers. Maybe. But they don't
- 23:28explain that. He's a heavy sleeper, but that's,
- 23:30yeah, whatever. It's really creepy to me. What
- 23:32was her plan? Because she says to Kathryn,
- 23:35like, I'll just tuck into Toby or Emmett's tents.
- 23:38It's now inappropriate for her to do this with
- 23:40Emmett, I feel. Especially the way she does it.
- 23:43I think if she had been like, I'm just crashing
- 23:45in your tent, and she's like on the other end
- 23:47of the tent. Like, pushed herself to the other
- 23:49side of the tent. Faced away from him. Whatever.
- 23:51Just in there to sleep. Fine. Whatever. They're
- 23:53friends. I'm not going to sexualize that. That's
- 23:56fine. like friendship intimacy yeah but I do
- 23:59feel that her and Toby are not close enough for
- 24:01her to do that with him. Yeah me neither so like
- 24:04what she like didn't really leave herself a non
- 24:08-creepy option. She should have just buy a tent at
- 24:11REI. I'm sure the Kennishes have many tents. I'm
- 24:14sure they have a tent and a very nice one at
- 24:16that. Anyway back at the house Regina's like gives
- 24:20Bay the most half -hearted apology for what happens
- 24:24with Angelo. She's just like do you know those
- 24:26people that just like really push your buttons
- 24:27that's what he is to me so yeah sorry. And then
- 24:31Bay goes um maybe next time Kathryn will be
- 24:33my chaperone. Yeah. And not you. Yeah and then Regina's
- 24:36also like why didn't you tell me that you were
- 24:38dating Emmett because she finds out at dinner that
- 24:40and Bay rightfully is like girl we never talk
- 24:43I'm so glad she yeah she goes it's not like you
- 24:46and I tell each other everything. Regina deserved
- 24:48that. And then she comes inside and she looks
- 24:50dejected so then John is like, are you okay?
- 24:54And she's like, this is such a typical teenage
- 24:56thing. I would have done this too. But she gets
- 24:58defensive and is like, yeah, I'm okay. Yeah,
- 25:01you thought I was going to suck, but I'm
- 25:02fine. Yeah, he didn't kidnap me. And then John
- 25:05is like, he's like, Angelo wants to take you
- 25:07somewhere else tomorrow. And Bay seems like she
- 25:11doesn't want to go. And so then John is like
- 25:12- Well, he was like, I can't go. Or if you don't
- 25:14want me there, Adriana can go. Kathryn can't
- 25:17go. I think it was just hearing all the planning.
- 25:19She was like, no, I'm just going to go to East
- 25:21West Fest. Yeah, but first John is like, well,
- 25:24if you don't want to go to the Kemper with him,
- 25:26do you want to spend the day with me? I thought
- 25:28he was kidding. I think he was being earnest.
- 25:31Oh, I didn't catch that. I think he was in his
- 25:34like clunky dad way of not reading the room being
- 25:37like, oh, okay, you don't want to hang out with
- 25:39him? Do you want to do something with me? Like,
- 25:41I think he was being really serious. It was really
- 25:44sweet. Now that makes me feel bad for him. He's
- 25:46feeling insecure and he wants to spend some time
- 25:48with Bay. And Bay does not want to. She says,
- 25:50no, I'm going to East West Fest. And he's like,
- 25:52oh, Daphne's already there. She beat you. And
- 25:55Bay goes, oh, she's there? Oh, really? She's
- 25:57there? I didn't know that. And then in the morning,
- 26:00Emmett wakes up. This is like the opening of
- 26:02a horror movie. I would scream. Why is she laying
- 26:05there awake, eyes open, grinning so much? Staring
- 26:08at him. Staring at him. I hated it. He should have
- 26:13screamed his head off. And he yeah is naturally
- 26:15like um what the fuck what are you doing here
- 26:19and also this is weird and she's like what don't
- 26:22make this weird. Girl you made it weird. You made
- 26:25it weird. Your vibes made it weird. And he's like
- 26:28what the fuck are you doing here get out of the
- 26:29tent. Yeah. She gets out and then Toby sees him
- 26:32get out of the tent and I think he rightfully
- 26:34assumes what we would all assume. Yeah the visuals
- 26:38aren't great. The visuals don't look good and
- 26:41she's like nothing happened he goes it's seven
- 26:43in the morning. Why are they all waking up so
- 26:45early? I don't know. At this music festival. Maybe
- 26:48they have a really early slot maybe like a 10
- 26:51a .m slot for the band. Okay yeah that would make
- 26:53sense. And then Toby confronts Daphne about it
- 26:57because Daphne storms off and he's like well
- 27:00you can see why I would think that and she's
- 27:02like obviously I'm not the kind of girl who would
- 27:04do that. I don't know, Daphne, you kind of give
- 27:06the vibe that you are. Yeah. Sometimes. He probably
- 27:09doesn't know that, but I see it. And then Toby
- 27:12goes, okay, I'm sorry. I just get defensive of
- 27:14my little sister, Bay. Yeah, because she's my
- 27:16little sister. Which I think is sweet, but then
- 27:18Daphne does not take that well. What the fuck?
- 27:20Me too. And it's like, yeah, that's not the same.
- 27:23They grew up together. It's different. It's different.
- 27:26Again, when I was thinking of like, it would
- 27:28have been so weird for Daphne to crawl into Toby's
- 27:31tent. What Daphne would have done with Toby,
- 27:32though, is wake him up and be like, hey, Can
- 27:35I sleep on the far end of this tent? Yeah. Like,
- 27:38she should have done with Emmett. Honestly, the
- 27:39person that would have made the most sense to
- 27:40get into their tent is Wilke. Like, she should
- 27:43have just gone and slept. Oh my god, yeah. You
- 27:45know? That's who I would have picked. Sorry.
- 27:47Yeah, great. Basically, she should have brought
- 27:50her own tent. Or been like, okay, I'm finally
- 27:52going to sleep with Wilke. And then Bay shows
- 27:54up at the festival, and she sneaks up on Emmett.
- 27:57Bay comes and says, surprise! Yeah, so I wanted
- 28:00to ask you about that. Bay sneaks up behind Emmett.
- 28:03And covers his eyes. Not my thing. Yeah, I feel
- 28:07like that's not good to do to a deaf person,
- 28:09right? It's not my favorite. I won't try it.
- 28:12I don't like being snuck up on when I can't hear.
- 28:15It scares the shit out of me. Especially like
- 28:17they're at a music festival. With a thousand
- 28:19people. Thousands of people, lots going on. That
- 28:22could be anyone. Yeah. Yeah, I don't like it.
- 28:24No, not a fan. If I'm brushing my teeth and I
- 28:26don't have my implants in and A is behind me,
- 28:29I will scream. And it happens about once or twice
- 28:31a week. I go, oh Jesus. And then, yeah. Yeah.
- 28:34It's not my favorite. I wouldn't like it. But
- 28:36he's happy to see her. And she quickly takes
- 28:40her place on Emmett's arm in front of Daphne.
- 28:42Things are so tense. Like, this scene was, I
- 28:46was like, this is so uncomfortable. You guys
- 28:48got to figure this out. Yeah. The day passes
- 28:51a little and she's telling Emmett about the family
- 28:53reunion at the jazz club. They're ordering food.
- 28:57And Emmett does what I like to do is type in
- 29:00my order on the notes app. And then show the
- 29:03order to people working at the restaurant. And
- 29:06he orders tamales, I think. Yeah, for $4. I know.
- 29:09I miss 2012. Yeah, dreamy. Some parts. Usually
- 29:13when I type an order on my phone, they figure
- 29:16out right away that either I can't speak English
- 29:19or I am deaf. They usually start gesturing and
- 29:22trying to engage with me in a different way.
- 29:24But this guy at the food stand is not getting
- 29:25this. No. He's like, what kind of salsa do you
- 29:28want? Come on, I don't have all day. Come on.
- 29:30He's a dummy. And Emmett is about to choose because
- 29:33the guy at the food stand holds up red or green.
- 29:36Emmett is about to point to the salsa he wants.
- 29:38And Bay picks it for him. And he's like, oh,
- 29:41he'll just take that. And Emmett is not happy.
- 29:44I think he walks away. He's just like, I have
- 29:46to go. I think he leaves his tamales with Bay.
- 29:49And he's like, I got to go. My set. It's time
- 29:52for the band to perform on stage D. And the audience
- 29:54is pissed because, again, they thought there
- 29:56was free booze. So they're booing. They're throwing
- 29:58things yeah. But they try to win them over with
- 30:01their sound. I don't think it really works. No
- 30:03it doesn't. Daphne's in the crowd for like one
- 30:05second and she's yeah then Bay pulls off her
- 30:08shirt and reveals a tank top that says I'm with
- 30:11the drummer. It's kind of cheesy. I think it's kind
- 30:14of cute I'm sorry. And Daphne sees it and flees
- 30:17the scene. Yeah and daphne's wearing the like
- 30:19twee Taylor Swift Zoey Deschanel striped top,
- 30:23and she's rocking a horse girl side braid. Yes,
- 30:26she is. It's a rough look. It's really painful.
- 30:29And Wilke clocks that she leaves. So Kathryn
- 30:32goes to the children's hospital where Bay and
- 30:34Daphne were born, and she ambushes the nurse.
- 30:37Yes. The nurse is played by Justina Mercado,
- 30:39who I love. She was in Six Feet Under, which
- 30:41is... One of my favorite TV shows of all time.
- 30:44She's also in Jane the Virgin. She's also, I
- 30:45think, on Desperate Housewives. And she was also
- 30:48in One Day at a Time on Netflix. Yeah, I really
- 30:50love her. She's a great actress. She rocks. Love
- 30:52you, Justina. They're talking about the switch
- 30:55and her working at the hospital. And Kathryn
- 30:57at one point is like, why didn't you say no when
- 30:59they asked you to work a double shift? And Brizia's
- 31:02like... Okay. You privileged white bitch. Yeah.
- 31:05She says it's really easy to judge from inside
- 31:07a Mercedes, huh? Yeah. Because they're sitting
- 31:09inside Kathryn's Mercedes. Yeah. But she's
- 31:11like, no, I've worked with many families, but
- 31:13I remember your family because John was famous.
- 31:15This monologue made me emotional. Like I really
- 31:18felt for her the way she was like, I made sure
- 31:20to hold the baby because my parents were fans
- 31:22and I wanted to tell them that I'd held the baby.
- 31:26And when I was holding the baby, I remember I
- 31:28felt really jealous of her, which is like crazy.
- 31:31But like just thinking of how easy her life would
- 31:33be. Yeah. And then, yeah, she thinks she worries.
- 31:36She doesn't know for sure, but she worries that
- 31:37she put her back in the wrong. Yeah. She was
- 31:39like, I put her in the crib. It may have been
- 31:40the wrong crib. I really don't know. I was overworked
- 31:43and overtired. Yeah. And that was kind of it.
- 31:46I really felt for her. I really did. She tells
- 31:49John that she went to see the nurse and John
- 31:50is like, what the hell? Without me. And then
- 31:53Kathryn goes, well, sometimes you railroad.
- 31:55You railroad me. And I can't think for myself
- 31:58sometimes. And then he apologizes. And he does
- 32:01admit that Kathryn needs to stand up for herself
- 32:03more often. Yeah. Which I would love to see.
- 32:06And then back at the festival. The gig is over.
- 32:08Emmett is already moody from the tamale situation.
- 32:11Yes. Some guy grabs Emmett like at the back of
- 32:15his shirt angrily. And he's yelling about how
- 32:18He was promised free booze. Yeah. He didn't get
- 32:20it. Which. He seems drunk enough as is, so it
- 32:22should be fine. Yeah. And Bay goes, hey, he's
- 32:26deaf. Leave him alone. And the guy looks horrified,
- 32:30and then he storms off. Yeah, he backs away like
- 32:32he's a monster. Like he's contagious. Yeah, literally
- 32:36like he's contagious. It also doesn't look good
- 32:39for your optics to beat up a deaf guy. So I think
- 32:41the guy was like, oh, I'm out. Yeah, maybe that's
- 32:43why. And then get canceled if I beat up a deaf guy.
- 32:46Thoughts on this? Because obviously Emmett gets
- 32:48very upset. He's like, what did you say to that
- 32:51guy? And she says, I said you were deaf. And
- 32:54he storms off. I feel like this is just him being
- 33:00mad about the earlier situation. Yes, I think
- 33:03so too. If a guy is about to beat you up, wouldn't
- 33:06you want to play any card that you have in your
- 33:08arsenal so that you don't get beat up? Do you
- 33:11think Emmett should have played that himself though?
- 33:13Instead of Bay doing it for him? Emmett would have
- 33:15just pointed to his ears and went, what? What
- 33:18girl? I feel like in that moment, that wouldn't
- 33:21have worked as deescalation because that guy
- 33:24seemed drunk and belligerent. That's true. Like,
- 33:26I think he would have just gotten punched. We
- 33:28Don't know that, though. We'll never know. Yeah,
- 33:30that's true. Maybe alternatively, Emmett turns
- 33:33around, points at his ear, and before the guy can
- 33:36see anything, he just whacks him across the face.
- 33:38But I think that's not what it's about. No, I
- 33:41don't. It's about Bay not really understanding
- 33:43the rules of what the world is like as a deaf
- 33:46person. Okay, wait, let's jump ahead then to
- 33:49them resolving this because I want to talk about
- 33:51it. Okay, yeah. So later after that scene, Bay
- 33:55goes to apologize to Emmett. And she says, you
- 33:58know, this is all new to me. I'm still learning
- 34:00about what it takes to be a partner of a deaf
- 34:03person. How am I supposed to know the rules?
- 34:05Yeah, especially because he says, don't use my
- 34:08deafness as a defense, which I think is fair.
- 34:10But then Bay says, but it's okay as a hook? To
- 34:14get you into East West Fest. Yeah. Because he
- 34:16told them they have a deaf drummer and he goes
- 34:18that's different and but and then she goes well
- 34:20how am I supposed to know that's different? Yeah
- 34:21and I think that that's fair. I think it's so
- 34:24fair. She says how am I supposed to know the rules
- 34:26and the way this fight resolves is that Emmett
- 34:28says stick around. That's not fair. If there are
- 34:32rules that you are like I shouldn't even have
- 34:34to say them but she's not picking up on them,
- 34:36say them. You should say the rules instead of
- 34:38being like you just need to stay and figure it
- 34:40out. Even write them out. Write on the list. Like
- 34:43if someone goes and yells at Emmett, don't do
- 34:45anything. If someone asks Emmett what salsa he
- 34:48wants, wait a minute. I also think some of it
- 34:51is male pride. And she's like, how much of this
- 34:55is because I'm a girl? Girl and I'm hearing. And
- 34:58he goes, it's both. Yeah. Which like a little
- 35:01bit, it's like Emmett. Like if you're in a relationship,
- 35:03you should let your partner help you not get
- 35:06beat up. I think that's so fair. But they never
- 35:08talk about that specific part again. It's mainly...
- 35:11The tamale thing. He was like, I would be annoyed
- 35:13too, to be fair. Yeah, but it's just her first
- 35:16time. But it's her first time. And I know that
- 35:19once she learns, she won't do it again. Yeah.
- 35:23Like, she seems very receptive. So, yeah. And
- 35:27then... Emmett, in the middle of the arguing,
- 35:30grabs Daphne to interpret for him, which, ouch.
- 35:33Yeah, that sucks for a bit. That sucks. But I
- 35:36thought it was a really beautiful moment. Yeah,
- 35:38Emmett says... which I wholeheartedly agree with.
- 35:42He says, the way I engage, this is how I engage
- 35:44with the world. It's by gesturing and pointing
- 35:46and signing. And hearing people, their responsibility
- 35:49is to stop and learn how to interact with me.
- 35:52And it's not your job to do that, basically.
- 35:54And he's right. You know, like, sometimes when
- 35:57I, the example I'll say is that when I go out
- 35:59to dinner with some hearing friends who also
- 36:01know sign, I request that they don't voice to
- 36:04the waiters. Because usually what will happen
- 36:06is, I'm ordering from the menu. I point to what
- 36:09I want. And then they'll talk to A or maybe you
- 36:13and say, so what does she want? And then you
- 36:17have to like voice for me or speak for me. And
- 36:20I usually request that if everyone can sign,
- 36:23that we all sign to force the waiter or whoever
- 36:26to interact with us in a different way rather
- 36:29than voicing, which is what Emmett is doing. Yeah.
- 36:32He's like, they will figure it out. They will
- 36:34survive. I was annoyed at this part, though,
- 36:36because we can't see his signing on the screen.
- 36:39We only see Daphne's face and her voicing. But
- 36:42I think that was also really important for hearing
- 36:44audiences to see. So I really enjoyed that little
- 36:47monologue. Thank you, Emmett. And they do have
- 36:49this sweet little heartfelt conversation where
- 36:51they're looking at a starry night. Yeah, they're
- 36:54looking up at the stars. And he's like, isn't
- 36:57this so peaceful? And she's like, no, there's
- 36:59actually a lot of, like, annoying sounds going
- 37:02on around us. Like, it's not that peaceful. Yeah.
- 37:04And I liked the flip that he was like, oh, it's
- 37:07my turn to empathize with you, you poor little
- 37:09hearing girl. He goes, I can't imagine a world
- 37:12where I couldn't tune out. That sucks for you.
- 37:14Yeah. And that is something A says to me nearly
- 37:17every day. I am so jealous that you can just
- 37:20take off your implants and tune out. And I'm
- 37:22like, yeah, sorry, girl. I get migraines. So
- 37:24sometimes I wish I could do that with my eyes
- 37:25because I get ocular migraines. I'm like, I wish
- 37:27I could just like take them out or twist them
- 37:30off and put them on the table. Oh, God. Like
- 37:32Mr. Potato Head. I wish we could do that with
- 37:34all our body parts. That'd be awesome. It's like
- 37:36when I'm getting dressed. I'm like, I like my
- 37:38boobs. They're fine. But sometimes I'm like,
- 37:40this outfit would be so much better if I could
- 37:42just take them off. I know. A and I talked about this.
- 37:44Like we wish our bodies were modular in some
- 37:46way. Like take off the hips and put them back
- 37:48on. Yeah. Later or take out the boobs and put
- 37:51them back on. We should work on that. Let's work
- 37:53towards that. Yeah. We're going to crack that
- 37:54case. But also in the scene, I don't know if
- 37:56you noticed this, but Bay's like, it's not really
- 37:58peaceful. Wilke's in the back making fart jokes.
- 38:00There's a sign name for Wilke. Oh, I did not
- 38:02clock that. It's the W and it's over here. Like
- 38:05he's pushing back his hair. Cute. Go Wilke.
- 38:08Go Wilke. And so circling back a little bit
- 38:11ago, Wilke's the real hero of Daphne's day.
- 38:14Because after the set, he goes and he finds her
- 38:17and she's on the dock. Pity party at the pier.
- 38:20That's what I wrote. Love that. Pity party at
- 38:22the pier. Yeah she's soaking her feet in the water
- 38:24and he comes up and he's like where's Edward
- 38:27at? Twilight mentioned. But he's just trying to
- 38:29make her cheer up it's cute yeah he's kind of
- 38:32like are you bummed because he's off with Bay
- 38:35and she's like it's really not about that. It's
- 38:37sort of about that. But it's mostly about the
- 38:40other stuff. Yeah but she's like there's all this
- 38:42shit going on with Angelo. Yeah. But at the end
- 38:45of the day it's because I can't talk to Emmett.
- 38:48Well, I can't confide in him as much about all
- 38:50this family situation drama that's happening.
- 38:53Yeah, because she feels like Bay took him. Yeah.
- 38:56And she goes, I wish I could just take my brain
- 38:58off and put it to the side. Modular. I wish I
- 39:01could just take my brain out and everything would
- 39:03be quiet. And then Wilke goes, well, what if
- 39:05you took your hearing aids out? Thank God Wilke's
- 39:07real dumb most of the time, but he's like, those
- 39:09probably can't get wet. He said, I think those
- 39:12are really expensive, actually. Yeah. Ally. Ally.
- 39:15He goes, can you take them off? And then. Pushes
- 39:17her in the water. I personally don't know if
- 39:20I would be thrilled about being shoved in the
- 39:22water when I'm sad. But the fact that he takes
- 39:25off his shirt and jumps in with me, it would
- 39:26be forgiven. Yeah, man. That was crazy. Also,
- 39:31it really works on Daphne. Oh yeah, she's smitten.
- 39:33I wanted them to make out in the lake. They really
- 39:36should have. So yeah, so she's feeling better,
- 39:38basically. And that's why I later... I think
- 39:41it's easier also for her to jump in and help
- 39:43interpret for Emmett. So later on in the night,
- 39:46we're at Regina's and she has just gotten off
- 39:49the phone with her sponsor and she tries to lie
- 39:51to Adriana. And Adriana's like, girl, you were
- 39:54on the phone for a very long time. I think it's
- 39:56wrong of Adriana to immediately judge Regina
- 39:59for being on the phone with her sponsor. Like,
- 40:01it's good that she's asking for help. Like, shouldn't
- 40:03that be good for her? It's totally fine to ask
- 40:05for help and maybe... You can have different
- 40:08kinds of triggers. Yeah. It doesn't necessarily
- 40:10need to be Angelo, but Adriana's like, Angelo's
- 40:13back in your life for 48 hours and all of a sudden
- 40:15you're calling your sponsor. And then to end
- 40:17the night at the festival, Daphne's feeling much
- 40:20better. She like offers Bay an olive branch.
- 40:22She asks how the date situation went. And Bay...
- 40:27like kind of signs like it's sweet she's like
- 40:30trying to sign at the same time. Yeah. And is having
- 40:33a hard time coming up with words but it's not
- 40:35because of the sim com it's because she genuinely
- 40:37is like I don't even fucking know what to say.
- 40:39Yeah like I am speechless. Yeah it's bad but then
- 40:42she's like did you get any of that and Daphne's
- 40:44like yeah I actually like totally understand
- 40:46and it's like oh right you guys are maybe the
- 40:48only people that understand each other. It was
- 40:51a sweet. Like what if you were friends just imagine
- 40:54imagine you guys could be so powerful. But they
- 40:57come to a nice mutual agreement that everything's
- 40:59pretty screwy with the family. And then we get
- 41:02an aerial shot. The camera retreats into the
- 41:05sky. They got a drone. And the girls separate
- 41:08to go into their separate tents. But we don't
- 41:11know whose tent. I assume Bay is with Emmett.
- 41:13Wait, I don't think so. She climbs into a much
- 41:15smaller tent. Also, her and Emmett have not slept
- 41:17together yet. Maybe Bay brought her own tent?
- 41:20I think Bay brought her own tent. But then it
- 41:22looks like Daphne is climbing back into Emmett's
- 41:25tent. Like it's the same size and shape as the
- 41:29tent we see him sleeping in earlier. So maybe
- 41:32he's crashing with Toby or something and she's
- 41:35sleeping in his tent. Maybe. They do not share
- 41:37that. It would make more sense for Bay and Daphne
- 41:40to share a tent and for Emmett to take Bay's
- 41:42little tent. Yeah, I have no idea. I could not
- 41:45tell you. My thought was Bay and Emmett were
- 41:47going to sleep in the tent. But you're right.
- 41:49They're not far enough in the relationship to
- 41:51do that. And that Daphne just. Maybe is going
- 41:54to sleep in Wilki's tent. Yeah. Which I think
- 41:56they should have done. I would have. It's hot.
- 41:59It's nice. It's cool. You're at a festival. You
- 42:01got a little tent with a hot boy. Go for it.
- 42:03Yeah, I don't know. The tent situation really
- 42:06threw me off at the end. I have questions. Yeah,
- 42:10they did not share where they're sleeping. I
- 42:12guess, no. It's not important. It's important
- 42:15to me. We're almost caught up to the place that
- 42:17I was. Yeah I don't remember I think I'm caught
- 42:21up to where I was when I tried my rewatch. Yeah
- 42:23and then I stopped because we're gonna do this
- 42:25podcast. Exactly. So guys we're really we're going
- 42:27blind but thanks for listening for listening
- 42:29guys and we'll see you next week. Bye.
