- 0:01Chloe, I need those chromatics. Now, who is this? I'm Jack
- 0:04Bauer. Who the hell are you? I'm I meda duty, Chloe,
- 0:10find out all you can about it. I made a duty. Does anyone
- 0:13there know I made a duty? I met a duty. Wealthy Saudi financier
- 0:17disappeared into Afghanistan in the late nineties. Really no, Jack, it's a
- 0:20joke. Name. You're being set up, dammit. Four Finger Discount Dude,
- 0:40Allowen podcast takes place over the course of about one hour. Do you
- 0:43think miss Davis wonderful for anesscount? We say that, we always like to
- 0:47say that, And four hours later, yes, do the voice? Do
- 0:52the voice? What am I trying to do? The twenty four voice?
- 0:55Pul Alice Nika. Oh, it's a main and that there are certain means
- 1:00that just passed me. Right, But all right, Pops, that's for
- 1:04another podcast that we were recording a little bit. Leader. Oh my god,
- 1:07it never stops here at the four Finger Discount and he's speaking of the
- 1:11hill. He's speaking of the hill. I am speaking of that. Oh
- 1:14my goodness. Wow, he's just he's throwing in the the segways and the
- 1:18links and everything. They go mister Brendan Dan know everybody, there's just no
- 1:22stopping him. But twenty four minutes. Honestly, this is one of my
- 1:23favorite episodes of that Simpson's post Golden Ear. I love this episode, really,
- 1:26I love it. I think it's think as a spoof of twenty four.
- 1:30It's the spot on as a spoof of twenty four. You are one
- 1:33hundred percent right. I mean this was giving me a bit of an acid
- 1:36flashback to Oh gosh, because when the two thousands, I think it was
- 1:40two thousand, maybe two thousand and one. It seems very contemporaneous with sad
- 1:46to say, the whole post nine to eleven world, and so I don't
- 1:51know if it came out everything's a terrorist attack very much so. Yeah,
- 1:53So whether it was prior to that one to twenty fourteen, okay, but
- 1:59I went for six seasons the first one, so maybe there was like was
- 2:01there a spinoff or something? There was that just recently? Yeah, the
- 2:05show probably had November six, two thousand and one. Oh, but they
- 2:07would have been, but it would have been making it pre September eleven,
- 2:10they would have, yes, Oh but yes, so span for two hundred
- 2:14and four episodes over nine seasons. Wow. The series finale broadcast on July
- 2:17fourteenth, twenty fourteen. So that's not because they brought it back and then
- 2:21they made like new seasons, didn't they? They did? And was there
- 2:23a spinoff? Just because? Is that including twenty four colin Legacy? Twenty
- 2:29four Redemption was a television film the air between season six and seven that star
- 2:34Keifer as Jack. Yes, okay, because there was, yeah, the
- 2:38reboot not long ago that I don't think had Keith and the lead. I
- 2:42think it had an actor named Corey Hawkins who I think it was in Straight
- 2:45out of Compton, and a couple of other things. There's twenty four Live
- 2:47Another Day that's twelve episodes. Okay, is that did? Maybe that's it?
- 2:53That is a twenty four then series event that aired in twenty fourteen,
- 2:57and it has Keifer in it. Okay, then look up twenty four Legacy
- 3:00while you've got Google happening. Twenty four Legacy Okay, it was called Legacy
- 3:05twenty four Legacy, Yeah, consisting of twelve episodes. The show falls of
- 3:07Life of War here at X the United States Army Ranger Sergeant Eric Carter,
- 3:10Corey Hawkins. Yeah, so that ed when did that one air? That's
- 3:15not long ago, that's like maybe twenty nineteen or twenty twenty, twenty seventeen.
- 3:19Time has just lost all meaning. But twenty four big hit, big,
- 3:23big hit, big, big hit. Yeah, for a number of
- 3:25reasons. Yeah, the timing was right, as we as we pointed out,
- 3:30the world was ready for an all American hero just to surveillance and shit.
- 3:34Yeah, and yes, the world was getting more and more surveiled all
- 3:37the time. And as I think we've said when we've talked about either twenty
- 3:42four or Keeper Sutherland on previous episodes of not just this podcast, but maybe
- 3:46other podcasts in the Forefinger discan work was a big deal to get Keeper Sutherland
- 3:51as the lead via TV show. Yeah, what was he doing pre twenty
- 3:53four? He done anything since Lost Boys? Well, that's the thing.
- 3:58I was thinking about this on the way over. I think when we think
- 4:00of Keifer Sudden, we think of twenty four, but prior to that,
- 4:03it was really like the one two punch of stand By Me where he's a
- 4:06dreadful villain and Lost Boys, Yeah, sexy, charismatic vampire. I think
- 4:13I said I rewatched Lost Boys not long ago, and you just look at
- 4:15keithra and that was like you just had it from the very beginning. It
- 4:17just incredibly sexy, incredibly charismatic. Dope wardrobe in in the Lost Boys just
- 4:24looks fantastic. It's no wonder they made in the Designeted Survivor very much.
- 4:27Oh yeah, he's got all these other shows like Designated Survival that I think
- 4:30has gone for a while, has been finished now, yeah, but it
- 4:32went for a few seasons, so they it got canceled and they brought it
- 4:35back for another season and it's like I watched it and it's not the same.
- 4:40Okay, yeah, it doesn't feel right. And they have their show
- 4:43rabbit Hole. I think it was Cold, which got canceled up the one
- 4:45season as well. Okay then and was there also I think there was like
- 4:48a reboot of The Fugitive that I think he was in. No shit,
- 4:51that'd be cool, yeah, but I think it was on Quibi. I
- 4:55feel like he's remember I do remember Quibi. I feel like he's going to
- 4:58be the guy though, Keifer who's going to carry the two watch after Liam
- 5:00Neeson hangs up his boots. He'll be like the new Taken, you know
- 5:02what. I mean, so he'll be like, you know, when you
- 5:04think of see Leem Neeson on the poster, now you know exactly what movie
- 5:08you're going to be getting. Keith is going to be the new Lison.
- 5:10But we're gonna call him Lisa now, as opposed to let's just let's save
- 5:15time, let's call him Lisen. Was I was listening to another podcast the
- 5:18other day. Sorry, I was cheating listening to another podcast instead of just
- 5:21listening to us. Well, do you not call him Lison? Nickols?
- 5:24That's like I think we call him Lison. I've never called him Lisen.
- 5:27It's like it's too hard to say lee Na, to say Lisen. It's
- 5:30really difficult. I get where you're going. I'm this on the podcast that
- 5:34they were talking about about Roadhouse and about Patrick Swaysey and how he was taken
- 5:39too soon. It's like, yeah, if Patrick Swaysey was still with us,
- 5:42he'd be making Taken movies. He'd be making Liam Neeson style movies because
- 5:46he'd be the villain. You think, I think it could be a good
- 5:48villain, Patrick Swayzey point break true. But he wasn't even that villainous.
- 5:54And maybe he was Robin Max and occasionally killing people. But hero just wanted
- 6:00to serve Yeah, who amongst us? I say, but twenty four minutes
- 6:03minutes? As I said, I loved this episode, one of my favorites
- 6:06post Golden Here. I've always loved this, I just I was never I
- 6:10never really watched twenty four when it was on. I've rewatched it since,
- 6:14or watched it for the first time since. Adis thought having Jack and Chloe
- 6:17in the episode really gave it that authenticity as well. Yeah, you get
- 6:21the thing the key for Subtler's dam for just about anything, so he'd be
- 6:25showing it, but also having Yeah, clear it. Now I'm going to
- 6:28butcher the pronunciation of the actress's name. It's Marylyn, isn't it Mary Lynn
- 6:32Raskeab. I'm not sure it's Mary then, but yeah, Chloe is the
- 6:34character. That's Chloe. Yeah, Chloe is a bit of an interesting character,
- 6:39and I liked how they beat up her role over time as well.
- 6:42You know, she was just on the on the keyboard or just on the
- 6:46monitors, and yeah, eventually she became a bit more of a badass or
- 6:47a bit more of a hero. To the best of my recollection, I've
- 6:50only watched the first two seasons so far. We've only started watching it best
- 6:54six months ago. Yeah, but they're gonna have ed Ga styles in this
- 6:56in the episode as well, Who's going to Die? And they pulled the
- 6:58plug on that, which one said gestals, I'm not sure he's a rotund
- 7:01character on twenty four. It's like a bit of a goofball. I'm not
- 7:04too sure. I might be mixing up twenty four and Alias. Did you
- 7:10watch Alias No with Jennifer Ganna? I didn't. I loved Alias really yeah.
- 7:14I mean, and she played a different character every episode, not every
- 7:17episode, but she I think one of the gimmicks was she's always in disguises.
- 7:21It's like she always looks like Jennifer Ganah, but you know withther like
- 7:26a red wig on or and a lot of a I think a lot of
- 7:29her disguisers were Launcher. Wasn't she dating Athletic at that time? Well,
- 7:33they co starred in dar Devil as I say, it's Dead Devon. Alias
- 7:35were about the same time, right, I think, so yeah, yeah,
- 7:40so yeah, she was in Aliens and I think Alias helped her get
- 7:43the role as Elector in Daredevil because she was doing a lot of action stuff,
- 7:46and she's seemed very very convincing to it. She was a really good,
- 7:49not a cruise level screen runner, but she was pretty good at running
- 7:53for the best time I rec and she also looked like I don't want to
- 7:56sound dreadfully sexist when I say this, but you know, you see some
- 7:59female like is on screen when they're throwing a punch, just like, that's
- 8:01not going to hurt anybody. There are certain some men you see do that
- 8:05and yet that's not gonna who But yeah, there were a few. Angelina
- 8:11and Jolly is certainly one of them. And yeah, Jennifer Garner was one.
- 8:13Was like, yeah, you're really throwing your whole body into that,
- 8:16so loose you lose the same for me, yes, yeah, yeah.
- 8:18So we just watched Payback and she's in that and slapping around Payack. Didn't
- 8:24like pay Back. No, I watched it, going, this is not
- 8:26what I thought this movie was going to be. I felt like I didn't
- 8:28really know what it wanted to be either. But mel Gibson was not.
- 8:31He's trying to. It felt almost like a Tarantino script where he kept saying,
- 8:35I don't want one hundred and thirty or what I just want seventy and
- 8:37like, I think you think this is a funny bit, but Mel Gibbs
- 8:41is not nailing this role. There's a whole well, there's a whole lot
- 8:46to go into it. We could talk about payback for a while. We
- 8:46do it as movie guys. We can do it as a movie guys.
- 8:50But yeah, yeah, well the point of it is, yeah, he
- 8:52should be asking for more money, but no, he's like he's a principal
- 8:54Quigers. Like, no, my cut of the my cut of the score
- 8:58was this much. Just give me this much. That's yeah, I'm a
- 9:01crook with principles. But yeah, but Lucy losing that that was a big
- 9:03breakout role for her as far as Okay, yeah that was pre that was
- 9:07prelimen Bill al mcbill, I think Charlie Angels and yes, yeah, but
- 9:11how we get to Jennifer Garner twenty four Alias? Confusing Alias with twenty four
- 9:16that's yeah, but those shows both have a similar in some ways. If
- 9:22you're going to draw analogies with big screen franchises, Alias is a lot more
- 9:26like Mission Impossible. In fact, JJ open sort of took over the Mission
- 9:30Impossible franchise and helped steer it in the direction that it became post mission impossible.
- 9:35Three and twenty four is a lot more like the Born franchise, to
- 9:37the best of my understanding or the way I view it anyway, And it
- 9:41feels like all of these things sort of influenced the way action movies were made
- 9:46going forwards, or action movies and TV were done going forward, so they
- 9:52all sort of bleed into one a bit. But yeah, twenty four definitely
- 9:54had that. It was so distinctive with that, you know, the ticking
- 9:56clock and the way over twenty like that is such a cool novelty, wasn't
- 10:01it. It really was. Anyone who watches movies, Well, we talk
- 10:03about it when we've done our south Park podcast, how Parker and Stone are
- 10:09really good at taking movie tropes and either making fun of them or just exploiting
- 10:13them for the goodness that they are. And they talk about the ticking clock
- 10:16all the time. Twenty fours all ticking clock. It's great. I mean,
- 10:20you normally just have it in the third acts like oh this Bard's gonna
- 10:22go up. I think they handled it so well since this episode as well.
- 10:26Yeah, having a ticking clock all the way through it was like,
- 10:28I'm kind of on the edge of my seate even though adrenaline, Yeah,
- 10:31yeah, it's great and this episode, yeah, you're right. It did
- 10:33a really good job of celebrating it and taking the piss. I was never
- 10:39like scared or had any adrenaline watching this, but I just thought they handled
- 10:41the novelty very very well. Even during the commercial breaks, how they go
- 10:45back to the time, it's like, oh yeah, three minutes are transpired.
- 10:46Absolutely, but you could tell that they were big fans of twenty four.
- 10:50They made an effort, which is what we've been hoping for, and
- 10:52after four and season eighteen, this is definitely one of the best episodes of
- 10:56season eighteen. He got to admit that at least I would think, so,
- 10:58yeah, yeah, we you and I are on the same page.
- 11:01We're not exactly on the same page. I mean, I don't think I
- 11:03liked it as much as you, but that doesn't mean I disliked it.
- 11:05See, I'm big on the format betning episode, So I feel like this
- 11:09for me is almost like this ear is because Trilogy of Era is like season
- 11:13twelve ish, This is almost like, you know, six seasons later,
- 11:15this is this ear is trilogy of error. That makes a lot with the
- 11:18lingo and yeah, yeah, so that that's very similar vibes I was getting
- 11:24watching this one, but yeah, I just it won the two thousand and
- 11:26eight Award for Best Writing in an Animated Television Production. And yeah, apparently
- 11:31originally add as a one hour finale, so the next week's episode is the
- 11:33season finale. You can't always say what you want and they add them together.
- 11:37Okay, I think they did it like last season as well. I
- 11:39know why they did that, but anyway, you know, the guys at
- 11:41Fox, they're running their own rule. But I thought it was a very
- 11:46funny script, you know, very well written. Just yeah, I just
- 11:50as I said to him, I not the transitions, the split screens,
- 11:52a countdown, that just all spot on. Absolutely my favorite. What were
- 11:56you favorite moments from the episode? Look always happy to see and hear he
- 12:01for Subdlan, great voice, that man, not unlike his dad Donald,
- 12:07And I just like that he's down for he seems like well, he plays
- 12:11very serious characters. Jack Barron particular doesn't seem like the barrel of monkeys,
- 12:15but Keeper Subtland always seems willing to, if not take the piss out of
- 12:18himself then certainly be involved in the joke and lightly poke fun at himself and
- 12:24particularly the seriousness of his characters. Yees. So I always appreciate that.
- 12:28So I was always glad to I was glad that he rocked up here bringing
- 12:31the old classic trope as well of the prank core where it felt I haven't
- 12:37done it for a while, I don't think, and it felt a bit
- 12:37sort of old news by the time they kept doing it. By season ten
- 12:41here it felt fresh, glad and done it for a while. It really
- 12:43did. And yeah, I mean it speaks volumes about Keeper Sutland's not commitment
- 12:48as an actor, but his style as well, that he plays the response
- 12:54as Jack Bow. Yes, I thought that was great fun. I like
- 12:56that a lot. Martin felt a good twist. I thought Been the molen't
- 13:05Been the Mole great him being sort of full of regret at the end and
- 13:11giving himself the tragic ending. And it looks like, oh, this went
- 13:13a bit dark, but no, he's just giving himself the self inflicted weggie.
- 13:16I really appreciated he was whipping whipping skipping and seeing that song about Skipper,
- 13:20whoever it was, give you a little whatever it is skipped to the
- 13:22lou my dad skipped Alu, my darling. So when he's first doing he's
- 13:26skipping happily right. The second time he does it in a more sad version.
- 13:31No, it was more menacing. When he's like, he's almost like
- 13:33whistling, and so it's more like menacing there. And at the end he's
- 13:37just depressing and sad. He's the same song in three different ways. It's
- 13:39how he's emoting himself. It's a character arc, yes, and also just
- 13:46gotta laugh at it. Jimbo's mum who's shown off for him that the doctor
- 13:52said the air would be good for them. I think you would have appreciated
- 13:54that particular part given your history with seeing friend's mother's naked. We were seeing
- 14:01implants and Bootlen. I think Nikola has implants. What do you know that
- 14:03I don't know, but yeah, you're right, Yeah, seeing friends mom's
- 14:09naked, that is a novelty of mine. It's a fetish. I really
- 14:13enjoyed the drawing, the schematics of Jimbo's house. Where's the rollercoaster room,
- 14:18where's the shar take? I liked Marge sending Helen love George to the hospital.
- 14:22Oh, I just I always like I when Marge gets the upper hand
- 14:24on people. And yeah, as silly as it was, I didn't mind
- 14:30the Homo Millhouse little side plot of them in the Dumbstep. It was just
- 14:33this is our life now where dumpster fog, it's just whatever at a nice
- 14:37little third moment where he parallel parks the dumb stuff. That was good.
- 14:41Next question, you there eating the beast? All right, trivia time,
- 14:45mister Davis. My first question for you is they zoom in or they enhance
- 14:48on a desk that says skinner stinks right in the sixth grade? What camera
- 14:52was it? Oh? Man, I had mys on skin the stinks.
- 14:56I was looking at the camera, camera eight, camera eight. Okay,
- 15:00then we see if I can stump you. But has a House of Blues
- 15:05matchbook among his possessions, but which location and dame? My next question is
- 15:11what is Dolph's real name? I knew his last name was Starban. What's
- 15:15his first name? Oh? Gosh, no, you there was a lot
- 15:18of This is a very information dense, very free very freeze framing episode.
- 15:22Free frame the ship out of this episode. I did not you never do
- 15:26I just let it roll. No do it that's why they pay you the
- 15:33big bills big, That's why I pay you the books. His name is
- 15:41Dolphin. Dolphin, Oh no wonder he goes with Dolph, I goord to
- 15:45the newspaper that Millhouse is reading what is less popular? Cornd I free frame
- 15:50the ship added this one you what there is no stopping you? Yeah,
- 15:52Mayor's breath is still bad or something that's still the problem. And then they
- 15:56mentioned the bake sale in the on the front page of the paper as wow,
- 15:58okay, I have another question for you. Millhouse wants to buy what
- 16:03what is at the quickie mart? And Skinner says denied pass. We are
- 16:08not recording this episode on video, but you should know that we both did
- 16:12the Bobby Hill jazz hands just so you know. By the way, guys,
- 16:15we're going to be doing another classic review probably next week, and it's
- 16:18going to be Stark Raving Dad. We thought, what what should we do?
- 16:22That's that's the one everyone seems to talk about the most, not the
- 16:25most, but they wish it was available, right, So we're gonna be
- 16:27Stark Graving Dad. We're gonna be reviewing that. But the big news is
- 16:30we're gonna start filming the podcast legitimately, So we're gonna camera set up as
- 16:33of next as of the Stark Raving Dad Review, whenever that comes out,
- 16:37that's gonna be the first one that we filmed. So stay tuned. Yes,
- 16:40indeed, I've got to have a shower. You're gonna be able to
- 16:42see the stink lines and internet. Yeah, follow us on it's we're gonna
- 16:45putting clips on Instagram and TikTok and all that. Maybe even your kids do.
- 16:48Yeah, YouTube as well. Yeah, of course, yes, so
- 16:51make sure you follow us on the social medias and you can finally see guy
- 16:55doing you know what are you talking about? And me going past? Were
- 17:00worth every penny? Exactly right? Yes, you just asked me a question.
- 17:03Should I ask your question? Yeah? Okay? Then out of Millhouse,
- 17:07Martin and database? Which one is the Dingus database? Correct? It
- 17:15was Dork Dink and Dingus Is that right? That is right? Freeze frame
- 17:17the ship out of this one. I told you I did freeze frame that
- 17:19bit, and that was the very start of the episode, and I have
- 17:22freeze frame and no more forget it. So what were the names of Martin's
- 17:26an It's not the ones that's the one that left with the bullies. It
- 17:29was as a moth to Zarathustra. Well done, Yes, and Phobos was
- 17:33a traitor. Yes, indeed, I had one more trivia question for you.
- 17:37But I initially thought this might stump down though, and then they revealed
- 17:42the answer themselves. Was it? Well, what did Martin hit Bart with?
- 17:47Well? It was a tuba, right, it was a French horn.
- 17:48French My first time getting hit by a French horn. It's like,
- 17:52oh, because I just I didn't freeze frame that part. I was like,
- 17:56it look like it. It was indeed a friend good instrument, the
- 18:00French horn. Yeah, he's your favorite French horness. Well, I'm a
- 18:07fan of the instrument itself, not those who play it. That reminded me
- 18:10of when we're doing the movie Guys, and you said you like something about
- 18:12that there might even nineties film. Mitch is like elaborate and You're like,
- 18:15I don't want to. I could if I wanted you. I think you
- 18:22went with the vibe I did, and I was having a senior moment.
- 18:27It's like, I don't know if you've I could see it was coming and
- 18:30I'm like, it's like a car crash. I can see it there.
- 18:33It's lingering there, but it can't get out. And then Mitch went up
- 18:37on some tangent. I'm like, Mitch, I'm gonna have stop there because
- 18:40I remembered what I wanted to say. And Mitch was like, no,
- 18:44speaking of things trapped, this is actually taking a turn for the worst.
- 18:47Lot. This was a horrifying story. It happened to me yesterday, right,
- 18:49and I felt like I had to say on the podcast for all parents
- 18:52out there have young kids, it's very, very important, right, you
- 18:55can't let your kids be out of your sight for a second. Yesterday,
- 18:57I'm watching Holly every Tuesday, daddy daycare day. She doesn't have daycare.
- 19:00Nicola works. I watch Holly right, it's just no podcast day. It's
- 19:03just Tuesday is podcast free day. And Holly was in the hallway playing with
- 19:10the jet I go to. I said, I'm going to the toilets go
- 19:12quick, whiz right, doors open, everything doing a whizz and then I
- 19:17don't know. I was walking the button washing my hands and he holy,
- 19:19say Dad. I was like in a minute, Holly, and she's like,
- 19:22Dad, I'm stuck, and I'm like sucking watches the bin. I
- 19:26said, you can't be stuck in the bin because he's too small, and
- 19:27she I was stuck in the bin, and I was like, where I
- 19:30went in the kitchen, She wasn't there, I said, I realized she
- 19:33was out the front right. She'd gone out the front door, and people
- 19:37had put garbage the bags like you to put clothes and stuff in, like
- 19:41garbageags in the letter box. She'd taken a garbage bag out of there,
- 19:44out of the letter box and encased herself in a garbage bag. And could
- 19:47it get out? She was trapped in a fucking garbage bag, like a
- 19:48giant plastic bag. I was. I couldn't. I could not believe my
- 19:52eyes in this. In the space of thirty seconds, she had taken herself
- 19:56out the front door, grabbed his garbage bag out of the the box they'd
- 20:00put in there, and covered herself with it. If I if she hadn't
- 20:03go out, she could have died. Mate. Seriously, I was so
- 20:07scared and startled by that moment. It hit me hard. You've got to
- 20:10be careful. Pairs. Do not leave ship lying around, even if you
- 20:12think it's safe like that. That bag was in the letter box like two
- 20:15or three days, I was like, I'll get it out whenever when I'm
- 20:18going to get take some clothes down to the to the salvation bin. And
- 20:21then she went out there, she go that bag and she fucking covered her
- 20:23up. I couldn't believe she's sitting in the driveway completely covered in the garbage
- 20:26bag and couldn't get out, like trying to push it out. I was.
- 20:29It was so scary. I don't mean to make light of this,
- 20:32but I will. This is why I never had kids, because I like
- 20:33living shit lying around too much. But two points. First of all,
- 20:37looks like you're gonna have invested in adult diapers because you can never go to
- 20:41the toilet again. Yeah, but I was like, she'd never got she's
- 20:45never gone out the front door. It's like, first she'd never go at
- 20:48the front door by herself. Why she did, I don't know. She's
- 20:51seen these garbage bakers and she's chosen to do this at this particular time.
- 20:53Well, she's a dumpster person, the folk. I just could not believe
- 20:59it. I thought, I'm gonna have to on the podcast because you just
- 21:00you've got to be careful. I had a podcast related thing as well,
- 21:06because my whole life is now just followed for the podcast, but don't really
- 21:10live a life anymore. I just think about what am I going to talk
- 21:11about with Dander next time. Listeners to the show will realize that the lovely
- 21:17Louise and I tend to spend our evening meeke it out no, but also
- 21:19watching maths watching Married at First sart and is like, can I come to
- 21:26We were way behind on nighty Day because we were just the feature is now
- 21:30show. But there was an incident the other night that felt very classic Simpsons
- 21:38esque in that there's a character who's or there are people on this show who
- 21:44have entered into this married at First art experiment. He's a guy who's got
- 21:48low self esteem and he can't really sort of find the confidence to really open
- 21:52up and express himself to his quote unquote wife. It's like she's really pretty
- 21:57well and she'd be into me, even though she's been like he's such a
- 22:00great guy, I really like him all this kind of stuff, and it's
- 22:03taken this long for him to go. I finally, you know, I've
- 22:06worked up the courage and the and the bravery to tell that I'm having feelings
- 22:11for at which one she says yeah, I'm not feeling it. The minute
- 22:17it happened, I sort of looked on Twitter and yeah, ninety percent of
- 22:21the responses were like, you can see he's heartbreaking time and he's not breaking
- 22:25half. It's the rap that Ralph that sound by that it's so good.
- 22:33I think we talked on ear late last going down to South Park, and
- 22:36we just love people in the recording making those. It always as Cartman was
- 22:41the preacher and he's second kids healing, I'll heal you. You are very
- 22:45very ugly gay. If you haven't checked out going to the South make sure
- 22:51you do the episode that's going to be coming out after this one is released.
- 22:53No, no, as you listening to this in the free feed,
- 22:56we have just released the episode of probably part two to do the Handicap go
- 22:59to Hell. Indeed, Yeah, fantastic episode, very very good, as
- 23:03was twenty four minutes. Let's talk about it. Let's talk about it.

- 23:41That was a huge song. That's a fucking bang. I haven't heard that
- 23:45for like twenty years. Is it actually good or is it? Yeah?
- 23:48Put your hands up, put your hands up for Detroit. I love this
- 23:52city. It's actually good though, it is good. Take it from me,
- 23:56the man with the best taste in music, the Katie Detroit. Yeah

- 24:33you so much for for being stonecutters here at the FOURTHINGISCT Network. They're cutting
- 24:37a lot of stone. They are, indeed, all right. So the
- 24:38original air date of twenty four minutes was made twentieth, two thousand and seven,
- 24:42production co j ab F one four, written by am Maxto and Graham
- 24:47and Billy Kimball, and directed by Raymond s. Percy Perci Percy p E
- 24:52s I Percy. Yeah, that's interesting. It feels like Perci. Yeah,
- 24:56it sounds very Yeah it does indeed. Yes. So the episode kicks
- 25:00off with what can you do a commens Davis, Well, this episode takes
- 25:04place, it's keifer. Yes, there's also tons of keifer previously, I'm
- 25:10twenty four, I mean the Simpsons, perfect way to start this episode.
- 25:14Absolutely, you know, you know from the get go is going to be
- 25:17not your typical Since this episode it made me want to revisit twenty four it
- 25:19really did, didn't it. Yes, it's always like because I didn't watch
- 25:22the show when it was on, so it's hard for me to say I
- 25:25felt nostalgic, but it kind of difficult. I used to always see the
- 25:26promos and I was like, that looks like a fun show. It looks
- 25:30like an event. Yes, but it was, wasn't it. It was
- 25:33at the first show where everything was done in real time. Not in real
- 25:37time, but you know what I mean, like it was over the course
- 25:37of a day. That was certainly the gimmick. Yeah, I mean I
- 25:40think that was really the selling points. I don't know if it was the
- 25:41first, there would have been movies ad I think there would have been TV
- 25:47movies or something like that that tried something similar, but not a big budget
- 25:52TV series like this. Yeah, they're very good stuff. But yes,
- 25:55we get the intro from Keifer there previously on we have Skinner introducing the counter
- 26:00Truancy Unit And what were the things on the TV screen did you see as
- 26:03they're walking there? Well, I take it. No, We've got Willy
- 26:07making out with Miss Hoover on one screen. We've got Nelson giving lago or
- 26:11pants and him pulling his pants and we've got Ralph picking his nose getting hit
- 26:14with the dodgeball. Then we got Lisa Milhouse database and Martin there Lisa the
- 26:18head of the Headhole Monitor Slash I got loves ponies, Slash hates phonies.
- 26:22And because that's what they did in twenty four when theyre inducing, all the
- 26:26characters had all the little sort of freeze frame bits like that, and she
- 26:29says on the sixth grade security camera as shows three empty desks, there's three
- 26:32kids missing today. I don't recall that many introductory things like that in twenty
- 26:37four, to be honest, maybe in the first episode, maybe it's been
- 26:41a while. It has been a while, yes, but they find skinner
- 26:44stinks on the desk there enhanced dehands Dehans. That's one thing I always laugh
- 26:48at when you watch these shows. They go, can you enhance it for
- 26:51me? And I'm like, what fuck did you just enhance it in the
- 26:52first place? And what technology using that was pix lettered as fuck when it
- 26:57was zoomed out? How is it there are not pixelated when you zoomed in.
- 27:00It's really great, particularly watching like The First Born Identity where because those
- 27:07are movies that you can't. You can't watch the original trilogy like back to
- 27:10back because they realized these are all the same movies. Yes, they really
- 27:12were, They really are. But you watched the first one which has made
- 27:15like two thousand and two, and they were on a goo wow yeah,
- 27:18and they're all on these like old ass monitors and things like that. Give
- 27:23me an enhancement of that right now. That's going to take like amountain of
- 27:27CPU power and maybe three days to do. So it is this real time.
- 27:32It's like, I don't know what I think it is, but I
- 27:36just always love them. Like it's pixelated, so you go zoom in and
- 27:40enhanced. I'm like, how can you zoom it on a pixelaated picture and
- 27:42make it enhanced? It doesn't make any sense to me. But a Seamour
- 27:47Skinner principal slash Mumma's boy then database database, database database, what do you
- 27:52say, database database would say? Database database. Yeah. He learns that
- 27:55the bullies are the three missing students, and we go through all their little
- 27:59profiles. You see Keernie, he's got he was acquitted of a hurt stone
- 28:02nut. But we helped and then Millhouse Martin Database dork Dingus went out at
- 28:10the power plant, which is also available for weddings, and everyone's fleeing because
- 28:15there's hazardous material somewhere in the in the plant, and they realized that it
- 28:18is moldy yogurt that Homer is left in the fridge. Homer Simpson atm user
- 28:22and diverted father of two and burns I've got He sends him on a business
- 28:26trip. So basically, is its just him saying get this out of here?
- 28:27Yes, yeah, okay, it's Homer not being sent home from work.
- 28:33It's like, get your disgusting food out of here. And yeah,
- 28:36Homer treating it as a business trip. But then I like this was altos
- 28:40like an amage to Bart the genius with the I am a wiena. But
- 28:42he says, put me on your wiener. I think he used the sauce.
- 28:45And what's the other of the poopon great poopon mustard? Yes, poopon
- 28:48mustard, and which of course was a way to make a joke samething I'll
- 28:52teach you to make a poopon me. That was a good line, Yes
- 28:57it was. Yeah. Have you ever seen I think a lot of Australian
- 29:00viewers of Wayne's World probably like were like a lot of these gags. But
- 29:04you know there's a bit where they take off the great pupon and I think
- 29:08that Wayne's World won Yes, which part is that I haven't watched it for
- 29:11a long time before movie. They pull up next to like a limousine or
- 29:15something and I think Wayne Len's pardon me, do you have any greup wupon?
- 29:19Of which I think is like it must have been the TV commercial for
- 29:23Great Bond Mustard back in the States, So I know this is funny.
- 29:26I don't know why, because I mean, there were some references that were
- 29:30in Australia got because everybody that's the university is Robert Patrick as the T one
- 29:38thousand? Is he in Wayne's World one or two? One? Yeah?
- 29:41Yes? Have you seen this boy in? That's a great that's pretty good,
- 29:45great bit Robert Patrick. He really exploited the hell out of his T
- 29:49one thousand. Good good on him. Get the bag, Yeah, get
- 29:52the bag Captain. I've watched the first like half an out of that movie
- 29:57a lot, well, the first like twenty it's when they do BEHEMI rapsty
- 30:00up to that point because the kids just want to watch the start up to
- 30:03Behem in Rhapsody. It's such a funny movie Wayne's World. I'm rewatching a
- 30:07while. God, there's so many funny bits. Just I'm not the hugest
- 30:10Mike Meyers fan, but in that movie, he is just so fucking good.
- 30:14My Mom's a really interesting case, isn't he? Because I mean really
- 30:15knocked out of the park with Wayne's World, and he's great Shrek and greatest
- 30:21Shrek. And this is a guy who I don't know, you may not
- 30:23have. I won't say he doesn't have a lot of strings to his bow,
- 30:26because he does seem to like want to do a whole lot of different
- 30:29characters, but only a few of them hits. But the ones that hit
- 30:32really hit. Yeah, it's interesting. What was that The Love Girl?
- 30:37Man? I'm assuming you get paid to review that one? I did?
- 30:41Indeed, how many stars? I think probably one and a half? Really,
- 30:45Yeah, I never watched it and I was like, this is not
- 30:48gonna be good, gonna be this is like the Austrian Powership, but it's
- 30:51not funny. Yes, that's that's exactly it. Yeah, kind of like
- 30:55you know, who was that Chris Lily. It's like you had a gimmick
- 30:57and you milked it and then kept grabbing on those poor old dried, saggy
- 31:03teats. Yeah, trying to squeeze either drop out. There is a Facebook
- 31:06ad at the moment for some sort of blanket or something, and I swear
- 31:10to God the woman at start God lover, she looks like Chrys Lily and
- 31:12makeup. I looked at it, I was like, oh, this must
- 31:15be a new Chris Lily series. And I'm like, no, it's just
- 31:17an ad for some blanket or something. And get to the comments and everyone's
- 31:19like, I fucking thought this was going to be a Crystal series. I'm,
- 31:22thank god the only one. This woman. This is my big break.
- 31:32It literally looks like Chris Lily and drag. It's it's hilarious if if
- 31:36I found if I find it next to my opportun in the comments, you'll
- 31:37laugh your ass off. But yeah, so Bart splayed the own put me
- 31:42on your wiener with the sauce. He's getting away, you know, he's
- 31:45caught him. He's at the slide away, but Bart two months sober like
- 31:51it wasn't too funny. But he ends up falling over and landing intertention.
- 31:55He gets locked in there. Marge. Meanwhile, I was doing the washing,
- 31:57and as she says, he if someone ate his shorts, they'd get
- 32:00a tummy full of pocket garbage. He finds a knife, a Homer voodoo
- 32:02doll, a house of blues, Anaheim mashboxes you're saying, and the note
- 32:07for the bake sale, which is today at three p m. March unemployed.
- 32:10I was like, I guess I'm technically unemployed as well. I'm not
- 32:14though, How's How's work has the word work in it for a reason.
- 32:19Well, trust me, you never fucking stopped. My job here is to
- 32:22just keep the house clean as possible. It's just like grandhole day. But
- 32:25you can't relax, man, you cannot. I'm a man who lives by
- 32:30himself when I'm not shacking up with the lovely Louise. And yeah, dishes
- 32:34don't do themselves unless you've got a dish washer, which which I don't have.
- 32:37But I don't unpack themselves, that's true. But it's just like I
- 32:43was about to say, floors don't vanking themselves unless you got the room.
- 32:45But I've always given up cleaning up during the day because the kids just get
- 32:50home like, oh my beer is looking at it. I've just given up.
- 32:54There's more of that sentence because I used to get I'm so angry when
- 33:01Tuesdays, for example, when it was it was Holy Daddy AKA Day,
- 33:05I'd always try and clean as we go. I would get so frustrated.
- 33:07I'm like, stop making a mess. Now, I'm just like, you
- 33:09know what, just make a mess and I'll just clean it when you get
- 33:13to it. Because every Tuesday, not to get to my parents, I'm
- 33:15like, I'll just clean up later. And I have just chilled out so
- 33:16much more. Tuesdays are somewhat fun now when she's not putting stuf in the
- 33:21garage bag. Niase like date night, but tidying in tandem. But Marge
- 33:29has Yeah, so she's found the note for the bake sale, and she
- 33:31now worried because she's like, oh, I want to be involved in this.
- 33:34I'm just going to go twenty seven minutes, the preheat is on.
- 33:37We'll played much and we get the credits of twenty four styles of make graining
- 33:42and whatnot. You may notice we did not get a blackboard gag or a
- 33:45couch gag. Well, it's former banding. It has to feel different from
- 33:49the get go, and that's what it was yeah. So the following takes
- 33:52place between two thirty four pm and three four pm or am, which everyone
- 33:55is the morning one. It's not that one, as you said, Keith,
- 33:58who's up for just in fun of himself, and then returns the yogurt
- 34:02to the quickie Mart opens the bag. Speaking of funny sounds, I love
- 34:06the sound effect they used here of when he opened the bag. It was
- 34:07like a fart, but not Look imagine if you just opened up a moldy
- 34:12bag of something. I feel like this is the air escaping like a fart
- 34:15in reverse. Ye Oh, oh my god. If a dead fish and
- 34:22a homeless person had the baby, and the baby puked and the dog ate
- 34:25the puke, this smells like real end of that dog. I wasn't huge
- 34:30on a poohs line here of a dead fish and a homeless person had a
- 34:31baby. Just went on and on my ab whatever. But he says,
- 34:35take whatever yoga you want, just take this yogurt with you. I liked
- 34:37to think this was home as planned for the get go. He's like,
- 34:38I'm gonna get some free yoga out of this. It was like a scheme.
- 34:44I realized that a lot of yogurts these days are probably ninety percent sugar.
- 34:46But home. It didn't really strike me as a yogurt kind of guy.
- 34:51It'd be more like a yogo guy or an instant pudding guy. Yogos
- 34:54were so fun. Back into the Yogo Gorilla. One of those commercials,
- 34:58I go back to your barry remember those that's right, Yeah, the Claymation
- 35:00gorilla. Yeah, and there was like three ads that actually topped like the
- 35:02McBain style where they played clips and you put them together. It makes a
- 35:06full movie. Yeah, a scene. Well, that's what the Yoga gorilla
- 35:08commercials were. You put them all back to back to back and it was
- 35:10actually a mini movie. Did not know that. I did not. Yeah,
- 35:14it was like a little too busy eating yoga. It was like mini
- 35:16mini Remember they had yoga. Then they came with little chocolate chips. You
- 35:20could sort of flip them over. Remember those little packets I'm aware of,
- 35:22like snack packs, but yoga. Yeah, by this stage was probably two
- 35:27old for snack packs. Were never twolf for snack packs. You're actually correct,
- 35:34But the bullies arrive at the Quickie March and I've just gone. It's
- 35:37convenient that Homer had the yoga here, because what were they going to do
- 35:38with the bomb if they couldn't if they if Homer didn't have that yoga,
- 35:40what were they gonna put in the bomb? Well, yeah, that's the
- 35:44thing. Were they were they pretty fucking fine? Were they always hatching this
- 35:46plan? Or was it kind of the moment inspired by the yoga? Maybe
- 35:52they were just wagging school. Yeah they found that's that's true. Yeah,
- 35:57but Millhouse is watching them, and then they yoga that was Homer's and Skinner
- 36:01tells me my house to bring them in. And there's a letter in your
- 36:05locker. I want you to read. That's why, he says to let
- 36:07Lisa, I don't make it. There's a letter in my lock I want
- 36:09you to read. We've all read it. Have you ever written like a
- 36:13love letter and someone else found it first or something? How are you with
- 36:15people reading cards that you write to Louise and stuff? Well, I pride
- 36:21myself on my card writing skill. You said, that's in the fridge or
- 36:23something, right, like a little yeah loop prep like student of the Week
- 36:27award. Good for me? So no, I don't have a problem with
- 36:31that, Lisa. Maybe one's a little more private. Lisa wants to know
- 36:36why do they only take the yoga? Though there was like there was I
- 36:38think it was a quarter in the penny jar or something, take a penny
- 36:42and what else was there? There was the delights, but she said they
- 36:47tell Milhouse to to follow the guys, and they deny him from buying a
- 36:51food. Meanwhile he's reading the paper just to try and spy on them down
- 36:55upside down. Yep. The Mayor's breath is still a problem. Corn Less
- 36:59popular bakes today, just reminding viewers it as a bake sale today, and
- 37:02Homer blows his cover. I think I've ever had a little scheme with Millhouse
- 37:06and Homer before. That's why I liked it. It felt Yeah, it's
- 37:09usually Millhouse, Bart and Homer maybe, but just Millhouse and Homer it felt
- 37:14fresh. Really. The only the main interaction d is the dud. Yeah.
- 37:21But who's that that Wiener kid? Yeah? That win A kid.
- 37:24Yeah. I just just enjoyed it. Yeah. Yeah. So they destroyed
- 37:30Millhouse's phone and they throw he and hom in the dumpster. Homer's logic here
- 37:34was was good, you're the fat one of you guys. But also I
- 37:38loved homes when his words when he gets thrown into the I'm still alive.
- 37:43You call that plane to win? Yeah, because he's bulking for football.
- 37:46They push the dumpster down the hill. They go through the car washre tickles
- 37:50and this is our life now Millhouse where dumpster folk. Lisa then says,
- 37:53we've lost Millhouse. He'll be somewhat missed, as Principal Skinner says, and
- 37:58he crosses off Millhouse's name. They've also pre obviously lost Sherry Terry and Paul
- 38:00Wendell. There's only one agent who's possible, who's capable of solving this crime,
- 38:06and it's my brother who is currently in attention. This was I like
- 38:08this, Lord, give me the guidance. This felt like classic Simpsons.
- 38:12That's right, Guid's department. Thank you, missus. Lloyd. You know,
- 38:15it felt very much like a Swartsweld kind of gave that one for me.
- 38:19Meanwhile, Marge's still cooking and she's rememberiscing about how she came third last
- 38:22time. She really wants to win this one. She's going to make a
- 38:24raisin sponge cake, but she's out of sun made raisins. And kids love
- 38:29the Zinger raisins. Yeah, everybody loves the zing of Raisins. It's currently
- 38:31two thirty eight. Do you ever know the kid? There was a kid
- 38:36at school who you'd have your lunchbox, you'd have your like your lunch meal,
- 38:40but you'd have your little recess snack. One had a recess snack.
- 38:44Yeah, but you know, in verily it was something nice. I mean
- 38:46a recess treat as a treat. There was always a kid that got little
- 38:50box of raisins. I love my Sultana's man, really, yeah, I
- 38:52fucking love them. It became an acquiet taste after not a quiet taste over
- 38:58a while, but it was like, you know what, these actually that
- 39:00bad? But you could see a kid who had but it's like kind of
- 39:02taste like lollies a bitch. But you'd see a kid who had like a
- 39:06wagon wheel or some shit like that, and you'd be like, oh damn,
- 39:08I've got Nature's candy. So I would always get raisins and either a
- 39:13yoga or a roll up the snake bag. Yeah, but the do you
- 39:17have a roll ups? I'm a winner roll up Elliott loves roll ups.
- 39:21Roll ups, Yes, but now they just get caught in my teeth and
- 39:23it's like look good. Actually don't taste that great. They're a filling removers
- 39:29what they are? Yeah, not great. But but he wants immunity and
- 39:32he wants to be taught a swear word that he doesn't know, and Skinner
- 39:37refuses that. But then they mentioned the bake sale, so Lisa convinces Skinner
- 39:39to, you know, give him amunity and everything you can iving. Little
- 39:44that's a swear. You use it as a noun. What word do you
- 39:46think that was? M? You could be, could be pussy, could
- 39:52be fuck. That's true, but yeah, everyone knows Fu's a bad word
- 39:55though, right, I guess. Oh point I let us know this simpceus
- 40:01mailbag at gmail dot com. Let us know your most creative swears. Yes,
- 40:05that is shock us. That is not necessarily a swear, but if
- 40:07you use it as a noun, it is a swear. But he needs
- 40:12wheels, so he takes Skinner's car. The bullies are then making the bomb.
- 40:15They added some roadkill by the way, just a quick point. I
- 40:20love how they employ the good old entertainment trope of you need to explain something
- 40:25to the audience. But it's like, well, as we both know,
- 40:30but you may need reminding. I didn't hear that bit? Yeah, who
- 40:34said that? I think Lisa's out of the skinner. Okay about the bakesale,
- 40:37yes, I forgotten exactly what it was, but it's like, as
- 40:40we both know, but you may need remind. As you know, Bob
- 40:45roadkill brunt hair, my sister's retainer case, six weeks of bottled farts,
- 40:51possum, placenta, sweat from a walk around goofy suit, and finally,
- 40:54GCB, why that container of botualized ourt. Okay, everyone masks on,
- 41:12gentlemen, We've created the mother of all stream bombs. Most satisfactory. Jimbo,
- 41:21Sweetie, I have to ben to the bank. Are you boys gonna
- 41:23be? Okay? Al put a top on. Mom. Everyone's seen your
- 41:27implants, but the doctor said, the air will happen. Just go looking
- 41:31good, Carol. The DULs reaction here is pretty much what every key would
- 41:36be, like, Hey, looking good, Carol looking and then they unfortunately
- 41:40kill a little hamster or something. What a hamster gebil gebbil gebbil. Yeah,
- 41:46I couldn't tell the difference between a hamster gerbil and a guinea pig.
- 41:50I think gerbils have less hair like guinea pigs. Is like the fat one
- 41:53of those career Yeah, first out two thirty nine and Margin Helena fighting over
- 41:59the last box of raisins. Bart is driving the car with his rear end
- 42:02and the dumpster lands on the train tracks. We come up from commercial.
- 42:06Bart's still driving Margins at the supermarket buying the raisins, and Helen's been wooed
- 42:08down the stretcher. In the background, trainers approaching the school bus knocks the
- 42:13dumpster out of the way, and Otto is seen, unfortunately about to meet
- 42:15his demias. It seems that oh, yes, yes, we cut the
- 42:17Jimbo though testing the smell on. Ralph says, which doesn't go well for
- 42:22Ralph says, Springfields, They're gonna be stink field. Bart's watching no through
- 42:25the window. He is a schematic of Jimbo's house. We've only got Drew
- 42:29when he picks. He drew in his second grade. You can't voice for
- 42:30the accuracy. The titcher gave him franny face. But but guess them and
- 42:36did you see the photos. One of them was a monster in the closet.
- 42:38I was like, I wonder if that's this like a little character trait
- 42:40of like this kid's troubled there's there's something at home that's scaring him, you
- 42:45know, because most kids end up like Jimbo, have some sort of issue.
- 42:49They do. Yes, but Martin is revealed here to be at the
- 42:52mole, and I was like, what a plot twist? What a twist?
- 42:54Yeah, I love it. Scram bulled eggs a lovely mother because he's
- 42:59telling the guy's a scram get out of there because they're onto them. And
- 43:01also this too, make your split screen vanish. It works, but is
- 43:07now in Jimbo's house, wears the rollercoaster room in the shark tank, which
- 43:09was funny, and then he hears the door close or open, goes to
- 43:13the basement wherever all we're making the bomb. They've escaped, and he finds
- 43:15Ralpho has just passed out and calls for backup. He's got a very special
- 43:20boy down and he interrupts Jack Bauer this, eh, I made a duty
- 43:25and yeah. Chloe initially not plays along but Wealthy No, it's a joke.
- 43:32Name, Yes, disappear in the nineties. Really no, damn it,
- 43:36damn it, I keep getting that was his catchphrase. Yeah, damn
- 43:38it, damnit. Marge says, what's twenty minutes of three hundred, it's
- 43:45five minutes of twelve hundred degrees. The maths adds up. I'm not sure,
- 43:47but I don't think there's any oven that goes at twelve hundred either.
- 43:52But Marge makes the index card to go onto the front of the oven explodes.
- 43:55That Poursat's little helper. But it's now two forty seven. She's running
- 43:59out of time, but pink frosting fortunately fixes everything. She's just lathered in
- 44:02prink fosting. Pink frosting reminds me of the cake that Burns made for Homer
- 44:07where he picked the figs himself. Yeah, looked terrible, It really did
- 44:12that. That was really great animation that episode, Like God had never touched
- 44:15that. Homer and Milhouse is still in the dumpster. They arrive at Moe's
- 44:20and Moe he's going to be his own dentist, which doesn't seem pleasant.
- 44:22No, No, it seems like they're paying tribute to a lot of twenty
- 44:27four here. And I don't know if they ever used a drill to torture
- 44:30or anyone in twenty four, but torture was a big deal in twenty four.
- 44:34Or extraordinary rendition, I think is the actual term that's used when you
- 44:40don't want to say torture. When I saw Homemade Dentistry, I thought,
- 44:44there's this documentary on I think it's Netflix, and I very rarely watched occos
- 44:47of Netflix because they're all the fucking same thing. But it was like Monster
- 44:51in the House or something, and it's about a a scare house. But
- 44:54it's just like a guy who just runs his own sort of scarehouse in the
- 44:58States. But he makes people sign a waiver where you know he can do
- 45:00dentistry on you and he can actually like waterboard you and like torture you,
- 45:05and he might be hard of hearing and psychological issues and he tries. Basically,
- 45:08it's like you're signing away your right to actually live a normal life.
- 45:13It's worth watching. It's almost it's so uncomfortable to watch because it's just people
- 45:16who talking about their experience there, and some people are actually like generally fucked
- 45:20up, and he just torture people, and they're like he is when he's
- 45:22when you say I quit, he's supposed to quit, and he doesn't quit.
- 45:25It just keeps going. But because they've signed this waiver, they can't
- 45:29do anything about it. I kind of want to watch this, but at
- 45:30the same time I do not. It is fucked up. Man. When
- 45:34I saw Modo in this industry, I was like, people like he removes
- 45:37people's teeth without any painkillers because they want to see what it's like to go
- 45:40through hell and like in an actual like haunted house kind of thing. But
- 45:45he just torture him. He's like his farm in America. It's so fucked
- 45:47up, the mcab house or something it's called. I've never heard of this.
- 45:52This is disturbing. I'll go on Netflix now. I'll find it for
- 45:54you Netflix Lash. What was it on Disney Plus? It might have been
- 45:58on Disney Plus. I think actually was on Disney Plus. I'm not joking.
- 46:01Oh my goodness, I'm going on there now. Disney Plus, let's
- 46:04say it load It's it's terrific. You'll enjoy it because you're like host out.
- 46:10It's always amazing. Because I don't know if they're doing in the US
- 46:14yet. I mean I think Disney Monster Inside. It's on Disney Plus Monster
- 46:17Inside. Yeah, because the US has got Hulu, which is sort of
- 46:22like the adult Disney Plus, where whereas an Australia in other countries, all
- 46:25the all the adult stuff ends up on Disney Plus. It's so bizarre,
- 46:29isn't it. The kids like, oh la mental, and I'm like,
- 46:31I'm we're watching Monster inside check out Monster Insides. I want to watch Monster
- 46:37in this one's even better. Well, it's funny there when I over go
- 46:42JB High Fight. The kids love looking at the horror covers. They're just
- 46:45enthralled by them. Oh yeah, but then I don't forget. I think
- 46:46in the podcast, Holly is just like it turns to this woman who's standing
- 46:51in the in the aisle, she goes, she's got blood, and I
- 46:52was like, I have amazine looking a bad parent my three, I was
- 46:55like, she's got blood. But they just love looking at the covers of
- 46:59the whole movies. It're just like this is fucking cool. And it might
- 47:01be when I was walking around in the video store. That's precisely right.
- 47:04Yeah, there's something about it. I think the horror genre nails covers better
- 47:07than any other genre. You think it is maybe sci fi? Yeah,
- 47:10I think horror is probably the is the horrors most intriguing is the front runner?
- 47:15Yes? Yes, and sci fi a close second for sure. How
- 47:17do we get to the other dentistry with Mo, so they'd leave. Mill
- 47:21has suggested the bakesale. Oh Betsy, she'll get us there. They take
- 47:23off. Then it's project stink radius. It's going to make a smell further.
- 47:28Then they can kick a football or kick a kickball. I should say.
- 47:30Skinner doesn't want to cancel it, though, because you know the basketball
- 47:32rings have been retracted. DJ fun Times has already cashed his check. Altho
- 47:37the basketball hoops have been retracted. DJ fun Times has already cashed his deposit.
- 47:44And Superintendent Charmers won't be happy to hear it. Won't be happy to
- 47:45hear what anymore that bakesale revenue projections are through the roof. I'm very happy
- 47:52to hear that. You don't know me at all. What do you think
- 47:55the Charmers interaction in this episode? I liked them, but I like I
- 48:00like Charmers. I mean, you don't know me at all. Even when
- 48:05he's even when it works out wealth for Skinner, he still comes across that,
- 48:08yeah, it's gonna just can't win. No, no, not at
- 48:12all. Lisa gets Martin to search for the security or such a security grid
- 48:15you choose the perfect person, and he sees the bullies in the hall with
- 48:17the bomb, and this is where it sort of dawns on him. Oh
- 48:20shit, he still wants to help him. He's like, oh, I've
- 48:22made a bad decision here. Well it's I'm glad that we see a bit
- 48:25later that he was strong armed into it, because it doesn't really make sense
- 48:28why he would be helping. I was, as I was thinking at the
- 48:30start, I'm like, why is he doing this? But what do you
- 48:31think of that? As boring as mainstream cinema? Well, when was this
- 48:37two seven actually one of the better, most better recent years for mainstream cinema?
- 48:43Was it? Really? I think that was the year of No Country
- 48:45for old men? This will be Blood Zodiac Michael Clayton was a good year
- 48:51two thousand and seven. Top Films's have a look, shall we? We
- 48:52have? Got War? American Pie, The Better House, The Condemned,
- 48:58I like for Condemned, that the one's Stone Cults. Yeah, it shouldn't
- 49:01have been good, but it was. It felt very early two thousands.
- 49:07Yeah, watching watching people in like a Big Brother style house, but it's
- 49:09it's only people on an island. Yeah, you've got to kill everybody.
- 49:12Yeah, it's what was that film The Battle Royale. Yes, it's very
- 49:16much like that, right, m Yeah, I'm looking at I agree with
- 49:20top films and these aren't exactly great movies. Well, like, what are
- 49:23the top films? Because that sounds like alphabetical Well for me, Apparently the
- 49:28top films were Mister Bean's Holiday and Tangemant Ninja Turtles Parts of the Caribbean at
- 49:34wells End. Apparently there's a sequel to the Soundlot actual movie Shooter Path Fined,
- 49:38I Shoot Them Up, Hitman, Redline, Live Free, or Die
- 49:40Hard? Half past Dead two the contractor? The contractor sounds good. What's
- 49:45the contractor? Is it half past dead too, Colin? Like, I
- 49:49know, it's just called the contractor. According to Wikipedia, two thousand and
- 49:51seven considered one of the greatest DearS of film in the twenty fierst century.
- 49:53Really, there we go? All right? What happened after that? Off
- 50:00a cliff? Now it's two forty eight. Everyone's now on their way.
- 50:01The dumpster goes by Marchin and Wigham, who were waiting at the or Marge's
- 50:05waiting at the red light. Hello, nothing something about a woman in a
- 50:08dumpster. We come up for commercials now two fifty five home. It parks
- 50:13a dumpster parallel parks. As you mentioned earlier, Marge arrives with the cake
- 50:16making cause it to slip out of her hand, dammages the car. At
- 50:19the same time she tries to sort of slap it all together. This reminds
- 50:22me of when I've just made a good sandwich and dropped it on the floor
- 50:23and I'm like, well, the dog gets it. You try to make
- 50:25it look as good as possible, be like it's not the same, but
- 50:29you still eat it. I remember telling you around around Christmas time that I
- 50:31had made my gourmet mac and cheese for the Davis family smakest boor Yeah,
- 50:36I had to go. It went gray. Everybody enjoyed it, except that's
- 50:39right when you're walking out of the house. Yeah, it was raining and
- 50:44I'm trying to bounce things. It was like, imagine if just this' piping
- 50:51hot, fantastic mac and Jesus ended up on the on the footpath that in
- 50:58herne Hill, it just would have been a sad, sad Christmas. It
- 51:00reminds me of like a final listen Australia's Faystone videos can Tuesday Night seven thirty.
- 51:07That was what well, gather around family. It's a it's funny same
- 51:09videos with what was her name? Joebeth Taylor. That's the one, yes
- 51:14from Hate Saturday. She was on that for a while. She was also
- 51:16a pop singer for a bit. Was she what was she? Her co
- 51:19host on Agro's Cutter Connection for a while as well. No, I think
- 51:22that was Anne, Marie someone, but then she got replaced by somebody and
- 51:25Marie left because you're touching her up on the leg. Oh that's right.
- 51:30Yeah. Agro was a sex pest. Like legitimately the Agro Christmas tapes they're
- 51:36well worth watching on YouTube. Yeah, Agro, should we explain it?
- 51:39Agro is for international listeners. Agri was sort of like the Australian version of
- 51:45Oscar the Grouch in some ways. Yeah, true, but very adult based
- 51:49kids cartoon show host it was. It was a puppet and the guy underneath
- 51:52what's his name, Jamie Done, Jamie Dune. You look at Jamie Dunnan's
- 51:55like, oh wow, you actually do look like you are you are?
- 52:00And he kind of made a resurgence a few years back and everyone was like,
- 52:05I think we've moved on from Agra, And second I'm just looking up
- 52:10Joebt Taylor. What's she doing these days? Let's see Joe Bess engagement joy
- 52:15probably like get away or something right now. She has appeared on reality TV
- 52:19programs like Dancing with the Stars and I'm a Celebrity, Get Me out of
- 52:21here. Yeah natch. She started seeing at the age of five. Good
- 52:24for her. She moved to Melbourne in nineteen eighty nine recorded a demo tape
- 52:28which made his hands into Molly Meldrum straight. You dominated the music industry in
- 52:32those times, and now you see Molly, You're like, oh Molly,
- 52:37why are dropping your pants again? For I think Molly had a bit of
- 52:42a Gary Busey thing where he fell off that ladder. This is for our
- 52:47internationalist. Is this is Australian music industry luminary ian Molly Meldrum, an icon
- 52:53Intellivision. Yeah, but yeah, he fell off a ladder at his house
- 52:58and I think he might have sustained a bit of a brain injury. And
- 53:00ever since then he's been having seen your moments all over the place. And
- 53:02this just seems like no one's can't keep his pants up, and no one
- 53:06and no one's kind of stopping him. No one's stopping him. Yeah,
- 53:07it's not nice to see. But Jebeth Taylor, so she's on what now?
- 53:14Only fans? I don't know. Okay, there's a really long Wikipedia.
- 53:17Some people are started only fans the other day? Did she really?
- 53:28Uh? But that Martin has seen the guys in the in the halls that
- 53:34we were up to seeing the guys in the hall with the bomb. No,
- 53:36the guys have arrived. They're in the ventilation room, that's right,
- 53:38and Willie catches them in there to him mop up their blood from the inside,
- 53:42and they set off the fire alarm. Martin offers to go check it
- 53:45out, and he skips past Nelson. But it's like, what the fuck,
- 53:49Nelson, Why didn't you try and stop him? Or won't you beat
- 53:51him up? And he puts the bit over his head. But a bit
- 53:53of a bad ass. Here goes Jack bauerstyle. This is back, this
- 53:55is bour style. Yes, I'm unclear on what you want. And eventually
- 54:00it comes clean. Yes, here's the mole, Lisa, you're in a
- 54:01secure line. I am. You're on a bluetooth cell phone, the most
- 54:06vulnerable device known to man. But it looks so cool. Is that meant
- 54:09to be a jab at these kind of show because it's always on bluetooself I
- 54:13think so. Yeah. And there was a time though when coldless phones were
- 54:15like the coolest thing ever, like just had pieces. God, who's he
- 54:20talking to? Oh my god? One thing always bothers me though when you
- 54:23watch these shows. Yeah, the thing that bothers me when you watch these
- 54:28shows is like, can you hear us? And they put their hand to
- 54:30their ear and go, yep, I can hear. I'm like, if
- 54:32you're if someone you're with could be potentially suspecting you talking to somebody else wearing
- 54:38a wire, why would you grab your ear and go yes, I can
- 54:40hear you. Don't put your hand to your ear. Who does that?
- 54:44Cassina or I'll just nailed this, okay. And it's opening scene because James
- 54:47Bond and his partner are trying to apprehend someone. They both got the ear
- 54:54pieces in, but the rookie keeps sort of touching his and Bonds like,
- 54:58stop touching your ear? Yeah, okay, good. But he explains to
- 55:04Lisa that we have a mole in the ranks and he's about to about to
- 55:08say it is drags it out like they do on these TV shows. It's
- 55:12hit from behind, not a tuba by a French horn and as Martin and
- 55:15I really like the way he menacingly skipped us sang the skip song just yeah.
- 55:20Then it's two fifty eight now or two minutes away. At the bake
- 55:22sale, Homer calls out Sarah Wiggam for taking a taking it easy out with
- 55:25the rice Krispy squares, and Margin arrives with her rock solid cake. Martin
- 55:31then tells the bullies to let my friends go and is where you know at
- 55:34the In doesn't justify why he did it, but you know he loves his
- 55:37That's well, there is friends. It's a bit of a it's a bit
- 55:40of a trope of these spy and action shows. We're going to kill my
- 55:45family. I had to do it, and Phobos is with them. Now
- 55:52the bullies start the three minute countdown and the bomb William Butt are tied up.
- 55:57They say we can travel through the vent through the event. We see
- 56:00through the vent as history books, but only fifty's two racists nineteen nine.
- 56:02He's not racis enough racist enough? Then we see Uta who's caught in a
- 56:06web, and I thought, oh, this would be a nice gag.
- 56:07This is the first time I've seen Uta since you went missing. But it's
- 56:09not. He's appeared in a couple of episodes, the one my Homer has
- 56:14the daycare and the kids will give him a big hug. Uja's one of
- 56:15those kids. Okay, but I still like seeing Utah. And then Miss
- 56:20Hoover is they're drunk with a dog. The yeah, I didn't get that.
- 56:23Well, the first thing is when we first see the books, the
- 56:25books take up nearly the entire event. By the time we get to Miss
- 56:28Hoover, she's just this little white person and I'm like, oh, BIG's
- 56:30this fucking fan. This woman's just like laying down inside this event with a
- 56:35dog. Anyway, right at the back sale, now nobody wants piece of
- 56:37the raisin cake. Homer asked for more money like a child or the other
- 56:40moms give their husband's twenty dollars. And then I did relate to this.
- 56:45Well, then he said his dad was whole kog, and I know he's
- 56:46not. For some reason, when you're a kid at school, I've mentioned
- 56:50this before, everyone thinks that their dad's the strongest in the world. Absolutely,
- 56:52and one other kids says, my dad's stronger. It's like, ah,
- 56:53no, no, no, I think my dad can beat up your
- 56:55dad. Yes, it's actually a thing. Yeah, so she gives me
- 56:59an extra five do. He runs off happy, but then sends the photo
- 57:01of the bomb with his tongue and it's a Class five stench dispersal unit.
- 57:06Need to shut off the fan, and they see the HDW, the main
- 57:08valve of the hot dog water recirculation system. By the way, I've been
- 57:12soaking my one for thirty isn't counting. How's it going? Tastes good?
- 57:15Yeah, Lisa says, might you might die and Skinner says it's worth the
- 57:20risk. Then Charms enters again and just gets in trouble. Then they released
- 57:23the valve and the water is lifting them into the fan. The blades have
- 57:28just been sharping. What a bit. Oh, actually that was coming.
- 57:30I'm thin think of what Will' suggestion was in a few moments with your spine.
- 57:34Yeah, as you die and block it with your spine, keep pitching.
- 57:37I'll be back. But before that, though, Martin hangs himself with
- 57:39a wedgie and this is a trope, but oh, it won't here,
- 57:45and he then sings the skipping song again. But he's all sad about it.
- 57:46Will sugges Jammy the blazes with your spine, as we said. Then
- 57:51Bart swims to the baked sail through the looks through the window. How we
- 57:53get who? There's your mouth size mail And it was a window to the
- 58:00childs. What are we grave? We're gonna tries to shoot it out but
- 58:01it's bulletproof. Who does I keep asking them? Dan? Damn? Is
- 58:07it written in his contract? Do you think there must be some like financial
- 58:09incentive? No? I just think they thought they think it's hilarious in the
- 58:12writer's room. You're so wrong. I just don't understand it. But nothing
- 58:20can shatter it. Oh yes it can. Margin is o cake the bakesale
- 58:23floods. Homer thinks the bomb is a thermous What do you think of discus
- 58:28throwers? As in what do I think? Wad you? Do? You
- 58:31admire the process of throwing a discuss? Same same as shot put? Yeah?
- 58:37I'm always I can't remember the Olympics are coming out later this year.
- 58:40In part I can't I imagine myself sitting down like, oh it's discus time.
- 58:45I appreciate it, yeah, as a sport, but I think I
- 58:50don't understand with Olympics, right, how do these guys make They dedicate so
- 58:53much of their lives to this event, right, in this sport, how
- 58:57are they making a living? I don't say spot, but like not everyone's
- 59:00getting a major sponsorship. I imagine swimmers and runners are getting the poster boys
- 59:06of the Olympics. They really are. Yeah, one or two others,
- 59:08but I mean yeah, like the javelin thrower, Yeah, the discus tosser.
- 59:15I guess there's a market of javelins out there that they want to sponsor
- 59:17on the best javelin thrower in the world, who knows. But I think
- 59:20you're probably working nine to five and then it's got to be right and training
- 59:23for discus in your spare time. I don't think swimmers do. I think
- 59:27swimmers just their life is just training. Certainly, Yeah, yeah, I
- 59:30think you've got some high profile sports where it's like this is the one that
- 59:32people are going to be watching. We want our brand associated with you.
- 59:39Yeah. I was watching the bits, gone, what do you do for
- 59:43a living? Surely it's not there. What's the what's the sport that they've
- 59:46selected for Paris? Because each country chooses a sport that's only in that years
- 59:51Olympics. Really Sydney chose beach volleyball. I never paid that much attention to
- 59:55example. It used to just mean for me that it was twenty five since
- 1:00:00Marathon, every Limbics, he's always and now they're not on foxtail anymore.
- 1:00:02This is the thing I talked about that Nanty channel recently. Right, it's
- 1:00:06like a man Andrew Swan, I'm a friend of the pod patron of ours.
- 1:00:09He's told me how you can turn your plex into a TV station.
- 1:00:13So basically it's not you know, when you pick it and choosing it's it's
- 1:00:15not the same as when it's just on TV. When I was a kid,
- 1:00:16I was just watch it because it was on right, and you couldn't
- 1:00:19pick and choose. But he's now showed me how he can turn your plex
- 1:00:22into just a twenty four hour TV station of all your favorite shows. Oh
- 1:00:24my gosh, and just been able to turn on the TV and just having
- 1:00:27an episode of The Six It's just come on. I'm more inclined to watch
- 1:00:30that than have to pick through and go this one. No, not that
- 1:00:32one. But back in the day it was just on, you just watched
- 1:00:35it. Well, that's true. We all know that analysis paralysis is a
- 1:00:37real thing. Oh, when are we gonna watch nany and you've gone through
- 1:00:39your entire plex catalog. Yeah, and you haven't watched the damn thing.
- 1:00:43They gonna do the work for you. Yeah, I'm excited to actually make
- 1:00:46my Plex do that. I'm gonna give it a try, except I will
- 1:00:49probably fuck it all up everything, and then I'm gonna call down to damn
- 1:00:54you Swan, Swan e Worklesha. What about me, Bart Simpson, Twelve
- 1:01:02minutes ago, you made an annoying, praying phone call to me. All
- 1:01:05you andit's move in. I pulled every single field agent off all other cases
- 1:01:16to track you down and bring you to justice. It was a tough decision,
- 1:01:21but I think I made the right call. It's okay. That was
- 1:01:28Shelbyville. I very rarely mentioned Shelbyville as well anymore like that. That little
- 1:01:32rivalry used to be a thing in the Simpsons. I always enjoyed that.
- 1:01:36Yeah, that limit of Troy's a grand episode where they go to Shelbyville exactly.
- 1:01:39So yeah, this was I think this was the episode of the season
- 1:01:43so far for me. I don't know if I got quite that far.
- 1:01:45It was certainly an episode of this season. It was good, it was
- 1:01:47good. I had a good time with it, and you know what,
- 1:01:51I hadn't even better time talking about it with you. What do we learn,
- 1:01:53Palmer? What'd you learn from the episode? Though there's really nothing as
- 1:01:58boring as mainstream cinema that we went racist enough in the nineties. Well,
- 1:02:02for me, it wasn't through lack of trying. From forward. Your names
- 1:02:08will be all right, it is new name's time, mister Davis. The
- 1:02:13current leaderboard stands at this, I wonder who's on in first position? Of
- 1:02:17course is our man Philip Jay Hawker's on twenty eight points, in second position,
- 1:02:22Clever Kyle on seventeen, and Luke McKay is on sixteen points. Take
- 1:02:24it away right, then one point goes to keep a madness. Well,
- 1:02:31not bad. That's Brian Hughes. Brian Hughes another point, he's way,
- 1:02:36He's on seven points. Now I believe Hugh's he well done. You're reference
- 1:02:42that no one out of side is astray will get Yeah, you don't want
- 1:02:44to just move on. It's not as much fun as you think. Not
- 1:02:49good animal two points, two points, goes to Rush half hour. I
- 1:02:53like it. I've never seen the Rush our films. I'm gonna I think
- 1:02:57you mentioned that. I think I said maybe you should. Yeah, that's
- 1:02:59Adam will House. Oh I think he's also on seven points? What on
- 1:03:01Adam Woolly Bully well done? No Phil j yet but three points three points
- 1:03:07as well? You never can tell. Now we'll talk about this after I
- 1:03:10say it, because Dan and I had a spirited conversation before we started recording
- 1:03:15about this. But three points goes to twenty dope. Yes, now that
- 1:03:20goes through it. Man, Justin Williams, well on just you're on thirteen
- 1:03:22points now outright fore position, nice one, Jozy, But twenty dote doesn't
- 1:03:25make sense to me. Twenty four twenty dough? Is that that what they're
- 1:03:28going for? Yes, I mean you really have to sort of have fun
- 1:03:31with pronunciation if you go twenty four twenty dope. Still no, I am
- 1:03:37reminded of I think it was the Prince movie Under the Cherry Moon. He
- 1:03:44always has some wacky titles that man. He did. Indeed, fun movie
- 1:03:46Under the Cherry Moon a bit bit odd, but I think he has a
- 1:03:52scene where he's this smooth American hipster who's you know, holiday on the French
- 1:03:55riviera and trying to you know, make up with this hot English Aires played
- 1:04:00by young Christian Scott Thomas writes down a word on a piece of paper and
- 1:04:04says, use this in a sentence, and the word is recostos, Like
- 1:04:10that's not a word. How would how would I? How would I do
- 1:04:12that? And Princess well, I went down to the recasto and I put
- 1:04:15some albums and I get the BILLI off you were trying to but I'm trying
- 1:04:23to rhyme get the twenty You get the chocolate for that one, right,
- 1:04:26Yes, if you're trying to rhyme at twenty four with twenty do, that's
- 1:04:31how you'd probably forget about it. Maybe Justin has had his old, this
- 1:04:35whole different theory that you just ant picking up one. Maybe it could well
- 1:04:41be the Justin guy, guy likes things that have dough in. I was
- 1:04:44going to say, I don't think there's a sinus the plan here. I
- 1:04:47think Justin's just kind of like I'm going to game the system by gaming guy
- 1:04:53here. Mailbag time, mister Davis Andrew JP. Aside from this episode,
- 1:04:59what a Shark what's your favorite Simpsons non Treoss movie slash TV show homage.
- 1:05:02I liked not it. You didn't have to read the book slash see the
- 1:05:05movies to enjoy. That was recently. I wasn't a huge fan. I
- 1:05:08thought I was very underwhelming. They're not it Ones. I haven't seen that.
- 1:05:11Yeah, it's from like two seasons ago. What they do now is
- 1:05:13they have like a horror trios of horror, and they have like a horror
- 1:05:16sort of themed episode that's like either set it Halloween or it's a horror parody,
- 1:05:21so that this episode was an entire parody of it called it and it
- 1:05:26wasn't it was. It just wasn't it was. It just felt like it
- 1:05:30wasn't very funny. Anyway. That's a really good question, and I wish
- 1:05:33I had an answer that I could not. I love the Springfield File.
- 1:05:36So that's the one that stands out for me. Oh yeah, it's not
- 1:05:39really an imashes, it's it isn't a Marsh It features Molden and Scully,
- 1:05:42and it's the next Files vibe the entire way through. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:45yeah, I'll bring you love. Yes, breaking It's knees, such a
- 1:05:47great legs love breaks legs. There's the one where home is on the on
- 1:05:59the treadmill was like watching a lava lose a bit of weight. Yes do
- 1:06:02you understand? Yes? Yes, beprief for Files is one that stands out
- 1:06:06for me movie parodies when it's like the whole episode because it's not just scenes,
- 1:06:11because I always love the Indiana Jones Homer rolling. Yeah, that's a
- 1:06:14great homage. Yeah, I don't know that. It's just stand up for
- 1:06:15me? What about you anything in particular? I think you've basically echoed my
- 1:06:18thoughts very well. Dave McNally says, favorite Kiefer role slash movies. We
- 1:06:23kind of touched on this, we did. Yeah, Like I said,
- 1:06:25the one two punch of Standby mellon Lost Boys. I liked Designated Survivor,
- 1:06:30but it kind of loss its way by the end. Yeah, it's not.
- 1:06:33It's one of those ones that I never really sort of got into.
- 1:06:35Jack Bower is the one he'll be forever remembered for. I think I think
- 1:06:39that's the obituary. Yeah, es Andrew swan now Man once again this episode
- 1:06:43and the next other last pre Simpsons movie episodes. Wow, he didn't realize
- 1:06:45that it was also the twentieth anniversary of the Simpsons, including the shorts.
- 1:06:49Any thoughts on doing a Simpsons movie slash twentieth anniversary celebration on the podcast?
- 1:06:54Well there are. Now you've supported of ours on Patreon, and you should
- 1:06:57be well away that we have a review of the Simpsons movie on our Patreon.
- 1:07:00That is correct. Yes, so tell your friends. I believe Mitch
- 1:07:03and I did a commentary of it as well. What did you and I
- 1:07:04do a commentary? Then you and I did the commentary? Mitch and I
- 1:07:08did a commentary as well. Maybe it did two commentaries. I think you
- 1:07:10mentioned that Mitch had done it and was like, this is terrible. Let's
- 1:07:13redo it with guy that didn't happen, Harrison McClure. What was your favorite
- 1:07:18two thousands hit show? Hit shows are the two thousands TV show? What
- 1:07:21was your favorite show? Well, this is about the Breaking Bad was in
- 1:07:26the teen? So what was your two thousands hit show? Was it Breaking
- 1:07:29Bad? Two nine, twenty thirteen? I think? Oh okay, then
- 1:07:31so the bulk of it in the teen? Yeah, it wouldn't call it
- 1:07:34two thousands hit show? Cool hit TV shows? Two thousands? What was
- 1:07:39that one? Was really big Heroes. Lost was in there as well.
- 1:07:42Lost was definitely in there, but a lot of the officers in there,
- 1:07:45friends at the office talk, Pat and Kate take it out or the Wire
- 1:07:48was in the two thousand was in there, so that the Sopranos ninety seven.
- 1:07:53I wish I didn't. This was a good time for prestige TV,
- 1:07:56certainly, certainly from our friends at HBO, Arrested Development, very very correct,
- 1:08:01six Feet Under Dexter, the Shield of the Shield, Deadwood. I
- 1:08:05was very partial to Deadwood, thirty Rock, Oh, thirty Rock. Of
- 1:08:09course, yes, show that I never watched, but I can just remember
- 1:08:12it being like, if you didn't watch your show, you won't cool.
- 1:08:15So for a while I wasn't cool. It was the OC. Those first
- 1:08:17two seasons were just like Destination Television. Well, I would have been about
- 1:08:21year eight I Reckon when that show was on, and it was just all
- 1:08:25everyone was talking about, and I just wasn't interested. Yeah, I was
- 1:08:29into it for a while, but again I was listening to this other interesting
- 1:08:32podcast where they were talking about youth TV of the late nineties and early two
- 1:08:36thousands and how the guys at the OC thought that they were going to get
- 1:08:41canceled by the end of the first season, so they burned through all their
- 1:08:44good ideas. Really okay, and then they're like, no, no,
- 1:08:45you're you're that backfight on you and now we're going to give you more season.
- 1:08:50Oh no, we've got to come up with more stuff. I remember
- 1:08:54they killed off the main they killed off Marissa, and I remember that was
- 1:08:57just when people just stopped watching. And it's funny becau because apparently they didn't
- 1:09:00want to do that, but they were listening to people online. There was
- 1:09:03a small but vocal contingent of people online like we hate Marissa really or the
- 1:09:12Sheldons, like what are you doing. There's other talk as well. It's
- 1:09:15like, oh, you know, Mischa Barton, who played Marissa, was
- 1:09:16like hard to work with, always come out. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:09:20I just finished reading this book about press CCV and it was really interesting because
- 1:09:26the guy who wrote it's a good writer, really good reporter, and also
- 1:09:29recognized that we've got to give him a bit of dirt, we got to
- 1:09:31we've got to muckreak a little bit, and you know he's like, yeah.
- 1:09:34According to some sources, NJ justified Timothy Olen was Timothy Oliphant was real
- 1:09:39prick and I'm like, wait a minute, plus changes everything I trusted you.
- 1:09:49Alright, Well, that is our review of twenty four minutes a fantastic
- 1:09:54episode of The Simpsons, and next week is you Can't Always Say what You
- 1:09:58Want? Which was I remember this be marketed as the four hundredth episode.
- 1:10:00Apparently in the States, both of these were marketing as the four hundred.
- 1:10:03This was the three ninety nine. Next week is the four hundred episodes.
- 1:10:05That's four hundred reviews of The Simpsons. That well, I've reviewed me less.
- 1:10:11So when I started the show in twenty fifteen, I did not think
- 1:10:13I was going to get through the first eighteen seasons, but I, thanks
- 1:10:15to you, I have been able to do so, And thank you to

- 1:10:19years now. Coming up in May will be nine years and nine more to
- 1:10:24come, Yes, nine more to come? Well, what season eighteen nine
- 1:10:27years has thirty six seasons? Yea, another nine years and the show will
- 1:10:30still be going by that point, so there'll be another nine years on top
- 1:10:31of that, but we'll never catch up. Yes, all right, guys,
