Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning phrase party. I am Sherry Mackie
- 0:04Speaker 1: at its time, right now for today's word. The power
- 0:09Speaker 1: of contentment, one Timothy six and six says, but godliness
- 0:13Speaker 1: with contentment is great gain. Contentment is one of the
- 0:18Speaker 1: keys to a healthy and peaceful life. People who are
- 0:21Speaker 1: content are grateful, grateful to wake up each day, grateful
- 0:25Speaker 1: for their work, grateful for their family and friends, grateful
- 0:30Speaker 1: that God has placed those people in their lives. Yet
- 0:33Speaker 1: contentment is also fragile. It can be threatened by subtle comparisons.
- 0:39Speaker 1: We look at what somebody else has, whether it's their career,
- 0:44Speaker 1: their home, their family, or their lifestyles.
- 0:48Speaker 2: We look at people on Facebook and.
- 0:51Speaker 1: What they tend to show us on Facebook, because you know,
- 0:54Speaker 1: they're not showing us a real and we start to
- 0:56Speaker 1: feel like we're getting short changed some kind of way.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Why me, why don't I have that?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Those thoughts plant seeds of discontent, and before you know it,
- 1:08Speaker 1: they grow into frustration, bitterness, and even worry. But God
- 1:14Speaker 1: reminds us that what we have is sufficient. Your life,
- 1:18Speaker 1: your circumstances, your blessings, they are tailored for you, and
- 1:22Speaker 1: they are enough for the calling that God is placed
- 1:25Speaker 1: on your life. Someone else may have more or less,
- 1:28Speaker 1: but God has given you what you need to walk
- 1:32Speaker 1: in purpose today. Contentment isn't about ignoring your dreams or
- 1:37Speaker 1: ignoring your ambition. It's about appreciating the present while trusting.
- 1:42Speaker 2: God for the future. I want you to take a
- 1:45Speaker 2: moment to declare, I.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Will not let envy or comparison control my heart. I
- 1:51Speaker 1: will not allow dissatisfaction to take root. I will celebrate
- 1:56Speaker 1: the blessings I have. I will trust God for what.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Is coming next.
- 2:02Speaker 1: When you cultivate contentment, you open your heart to joy,
- 2:06Speaker 1: to peace, and even greater favor. Because gratitude shifts your
- 2:11Speaker 1: perspective from lack to abundance. Remember, someone else may wish
- 2:18Speaker 1: for what you have right now. Your spouse, your home,
- 2:21Speaker 1: your job, your children, they are all gifts from God.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I want you to.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Rejoice in them, stewart them well, and rest in the
- 2:30Speaker 1: truth that God's grace is sufficient for you. Contentment isn't passive,
- 2:36Speaker 1: it's active. It's a choice to trust God's plan, enjoy
- 2:40Speaker 1: his provision, and walk confidently in your purpose. Oh Bah, God,
- 2:44Speaker 1: thank you for your blessing, Thank you for your favor.
- 2:49Speaker 1: They are perfectly designed.
- 2:51Speaker 2: For our lives. Help us to.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Be grateful for what we have and to trust you
- 2:56Speaker 1: for what's coming. God, our hearts from comparison and envy.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Teach us to walk in contentment, finding joy and peace
- 3:04Speaker 1: in the life that you've given us. God, we declare
- 3:08Speaker 1: that we are blessed and we are stored well what
- 3:11Speaker 1: You've already entrusted into our care in Jesus' name. Now
- 3:14Speaker 1: that's your word for today. Take it applied to your
- 3:17Speaker 1: everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged to and inspired.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Is your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie.
