- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible stories for children. Last time, we followed
- 0:09Joseph and saw how he forgave his brothers and
- 0:12welcomed his family to live in Egypt. God turned
- 0:16something meant for harm into a great blessing.
- 0:20Today, we'll see how things begin to change.
- 0:24A new king takes the throne in Egypt. one who
- 0:28doesn't remember Joseph at all. God's people
- 0:32are no longer honored. Instead, they face pain,
- 0:37hard work, and fear. But in the middle of the
- 0:41sadness, God begins to bring hope through the
- 0:45birth of a very special baby. Are you ready to
- 0:49hear the story? Let's dig in. Joseph and his
- 1:05brothers stayed in Egypt. Their children and
- 1:09grandchildren, called the Israelites after Joseph's
- 1:13father Jacob, whom God had named Israel, continued
- 1:17to live in Egypt. God blessed them, and their
- 1:22families grew into a large nation. After many
- 1:26years, long after Joseph and his brothers, a
- 1:30new pharaoh came to power in Egypt. He didn't
- 1:34remember Joseph or how he had helped save the
- 1:37land. When Pharaoh saw how many Israelites there
- 1:41were, he became afraid. He worried they might
- 1:45become too powerful. So Pharaoh decided to make
- 1:50life hard for them. He forced the Israelites
- 1:53to become slaves. They were made to carry heavy
- 1:57loads, work in the hot sun, and build cities
- 2:01for Pharaoh. It was painful and unfair. But even
- 2:06with the hard work, the Israelites kept growing.
- 2:10So Pharaoh made an even more terrible decision.
- 2:14He ordered that all baby boys born to the Israelites
- 2:18should be taken away. It was a heartbreaking
- 2:27time for God's people. But even when things were
- 2:32at their worst, God was still watching over them.
- 2:36One day, a baby boy was born to an Israelite
- 2:40family. His mother saw how special he was, and
- 2:45she was determined to keep him safe. She hid
- 2:48him in their home for as long as she could. When
- 2:53he became too big to hide, she made a brave plan.
- 2:58She gently placed him in a basket made of reeds
- 3:01and waterproofed it with tar and pitch. Then
- 3:05she placed the basket in the tall grass at the
- 3:08edge of the Nile River, hoping someone kind would
- 3:11find him. The baby's older sister watched from
- 3:16nearby to see what would happen. Soon, someone
- 3:20important came walking along the river, Pharaoh's
- 3:24own daughter. When she saw the basket, she sent
- 3:28one of her helpers to bring it to her. Inside,
- 3:32she found the baby. He was crying, and her heart
- 3:37was moved with compassion. She knew he was an
- 3:40Israelite child, but she decided to take care
- 3:44of him. At that moment, the baby's sister stepped
- 3:48forward and asked if she could find someone to
- 3:51help care for him. Pharaoh's daughter agreed.
- 3:56and without knowing it, the baby's own mother
- 3:59was chosen to take care of him. Later, Pharaoh's
- 4:04daughter gave the baby a name, Moses, because
- 4:08he had been drawn out of the water. God had protected
- 4:12Moses and placed him right where he needed to
- 4:15be, in Pharaoh's own house. One day, God would
- 4:20use Moses to lead his people out of Egypt and
- 4:24into freedom. Even when things feel dark or scary,
- 4:34God is working. He sees everything and knows
- 4:38just what to do. We can trust that God has a
- 4:42plan for us, even when we don't understand it
- 4:45yet. Like the plan he had for baby Moses. Let's
- 4:51think about some things together. How do you
- 4:56think Moses' mother felt when she let go of the
- 4:59basket? Have you ever had to trust God when things
- 5:05didn't make sense? What does this story show
- 5:11us about how God protects and provides? Thanks
- 5:17for joining me today. We'll see what happens
- 5:21when Moses grows up and learns who he really
- 5:25is. How will God prepare him to lead his people?
- 5:29Until then, remember, you are wonderfully made,
- 5:33and God's love is always with you. Bye for now.
