- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? Welcome to Get to the Point. I'm
- 0:02Speaker 1: Terrell Owens, and this is my guy, Chris Spencer.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm Chris Spencer. Yeah. Not you. Yeah, man. What up, boy? Man,
- 0:08Speaker 2: what up, bro?
- 0:09Speaker 3: Were you hanging out with Nas this week? No, this
- 0:11Speaker 3: was a couple weeks ago. I was in Yellow Springs
- 0:14Speaker 3: with Dave Chappelle.
- 0:15Speaker 4: Yellow Springs? That sounds fancy.
- 0:17Speaker 2: It's not at all.
- 0:18Speaker 3: This is Yellow Springs, Ohio. We had a show on
- 0:20Speaker 3: the cornfield. Dave was selling his merch. Him and Nas
- 0:23Speaker 3: are good friends. They're also selling Nas merch, so I
- 0:25Speaker 3: bought this hoodie.
- 0:26Speaker 4: You said.
- 0:28Speaker 1: a comedy show in the middle of a cornfield.
- 0:30Speaker 4: So remember, I just pictured really like, you know how
- 0:33Speaker 4: they did with baseball?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Field of Dreams. Field of Dreams, yes. That's what
- 0:37Speaker 2: it was like. I mean, all the corn was cut.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's what I pictured, a stage in the middle of
- 0:42Speaker 1: a cornfield and y'all on stage.
- 0:44Speaker 3: So this is when, during COVID, when everything was shut down,
- 0:47Speaker 3: Dave opened up the cornfield and we had, you know,
- 0:51Speaker 3: everybody had on masks and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 0:53Speaker 3: And we did comedy shows back then, so he brought
- 0:56Speaker 3: it back. And so we had shows in the field.
- 0:58Speaker 3: So I bought this fantastic hoodie.
- 1:01Speaker 2: But this weekend, what I did was I hosted this.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Influencers brunch, which I've been doing for like the last 13,
- 1:07Speaker 3: 14 years, along with my partners, uh, Courtney Booker and
- 1:11Speaker 3: Turk Stevens.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:14Speaker 3: We started off doing it in DC, uh, where we
- 1:17Speaker 3: bring influential people and we have a brunch. We talk
- 1:20Speaker 3: about whatever the hell is going on in the world,
- 1:22Speaker 3: especially in black America. And I've had everybody from Malcolm
- 1:26Speaker 3: Lee to Will Packer to Tiffany Haddish to Kenya Barris
- 1:30Speaker 3: to Byron Allen.
- 1:31Speaker 2: It's been incredible. And this week, it was straight political.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I had Wes Moore. This week, it was Jasmine Crockett,
- 1:37Speaker 2: Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. I had Laura Coates. I had A.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Scott Bowden. And I had Ben Crump.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And I had Morris Chestnut.
- 1:49Speaker 4: But you had some heavy hitters.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah, people don't know how smart I can be sometimes.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I mean, those glasses make you really smart, Chris. They
- 1:56Speaker 4: make you look really educated.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I hope I don't scratch them because I got to
- 1:59Speaker 3: return them. But it was an incredible talk. It was
- 2:02Speaker 3: during CBC weekend.
- 2:03Speaker 4: What's CBC?
- 2:04Speaker 2: The Congressional Black Caucus.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Oh, Congressional Black Caucus.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And thousands and thousands of people make a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C.
- 2:12Speaker 3: And there's events there. There are parties, but throughout the
- 2:18Speaker 3: day there's conferences, but it's a great event.
- 2:21Speaker 2: You should definitely go next year.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It sounds like you were in a room of very
- 2:25Speaker 1: prominent and powerful people.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I mean, you had me with Jasmine Crockett.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I love her.
- 2:30Speaker 4: She's just a, I mean, epitome.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Of, I don't give a fudge. Well, let's just segue
- 2:48Speaker 2: right into football.
- 2:49Speaker 4: This is your thing.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Some great games this weekend. Some upsets.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Yeah, there was a lot of good games, great games,
- 2:56Speaker 4: however you want to classify it.
- 2:59Speaker 2: There's some blue tent.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of people under the blue tent.
- 3:03Speaker 4: And for the people that don't know about blue tent,
- 3:05Speaker 4: that's the medical tent. When players get hurt, they go
- 3:09Speaker 4: immediately under that tent to be assessed by the training
- 3:13Speaker 4: or the doctor, the staff, to really determine.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Their condition and see if they're going to be able
- 3:21Speaker 1: to play.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Before we even go there, let's talk about Saints-Ravens.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Saints-Ravens.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Ravens balled out the week before.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I picked the Saints to win this game, if
- 3:31Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken. I think we need to look that up. No,
- 3:34Speaker 1: you're getting mixed up because you're saying that because the Ravens,
- 3:37Speaker 1: that's your daughter's team. Yes.
- 3:39Speaker 4: So that's why I think you think that I picked
- 3:40Speaker 4: the Ravens.
- 3:41Speaker 2: No, but you did pick the Ravens because you even
- 3:42Speaker 2: mentioned her.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Bella?
- 3:44Speaker 2: You were like, Bella, this is for you.
- 3:45Speaker 4: I don't recall. I don't recall. I don't recall. But
- 3:48Speaker 4: I think the Saints... Bella, you looked at the camera
- 3:50Speaker 4: and said, Bella, this is for you. I'm going with
- 3:52Speaker 4: the Ravens.
- 3:53Speaker 1: No, I think I said, Bella, this is for you,
- 3:55Speaker 1: but my intuition and everything within me is just saying
- 3:59Speaker 1: that the Saints are going.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You bragged about Henry, how dope he was, and you
- 4:03Speaker 3: straightened me out by telling me he runs up more upright.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I said, Eric Dickinson... Yeah, that's the only.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Thing I said.
- 4:07Speaker 1: He runs upright like Eric Dickinson. There are some similarities.
- 4:11Speaker 1: You are the fat Joe of Get to the Point.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Get to the Point. I'm just telling you. So what
- 4:19Speaker 1: about the Saints and Ravens? So what happened to them
- 4:20Speaker 1: this week?
- 4:21Speaker 2: The Ravens lost. Just like you predicted. Just like I predicted.
- 4:26Speaker 1: But kudos and shout out to the Ravens. See, you
- 4:30Speaker 1: got me all messed up. Kudos and shout out to
- 4:32Speaker 1: the Saints. But this is why I tell people and
- 4:36Speaker 1: everybody asks me about, you know, who am I taking
- 4:39Speaker 1: for the Super Bowl this year? Because you just never know. And,
- 4:42Speaker 1: you know, the saying goes, like, It's just like the
- 4:45Speaker 1: movie I played in. Any given Sunday, anybody can get beat.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Anybody can bring the smoke.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You can play your best football for a stretch of weeks,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and then you're running to a team that you're supposed
- 4:56Speaker 1: to beat, and you don't win.
- 4:58Speaker 4: So, I mean, kudos to the Saints. I mean, they
- 5:02Speaker 4: came out. They balled. It was a close game.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Derrick Henry only carried the ball like five times in
- 5:07Speaker 3: the second half.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Dude, that's... Honestly, bro, that's absurd.
- 5:12Speaker 2: As a head coach.
- 5:13Speaker 1: How can you allow this to understand what you have
- 5:15Speaker 1: in the backfield and Derrick Henry to know what he
- 5:19Speaker 1: did his first week and to have five carries in
- 5:23Speaker 1: the second half?
- 5:24Speaker 4: That's 19 less than he did the entire game previously.
- 5:29Speaker 4: How can you be productive?
- 5:30Speaker 1: How can you even win or give yourself a chance
- 5:33Speaker 1: to win with him only carrying the ball five times
- 5:37Speaker 1: in the second half?
- 5:38Speaker 4: Bro, that doesn't make any sense.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But when you got a guy like that and Derrick
- 5:42Speaker 1: Henry who just ripped off three touchdowns a week before
- 5:45Speaker 1: over 140-something yards.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Makes no sense. None at all.
- 5:50Speaker 4: None whatsoever. They have five carries in the second half, bro. Bro,
- 5:54Speaker 4: I can do that.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson, do you think he's succumbing to the pressure
- 5:58Speaker 3: of the quote-unquote stereotype of the black quarterback running too
- 6:03Speaker 3: much so he's trying to stay in the pocket more?
- 6:05Speaker 3: and look like the all-American quarterback. And that's why he
- 6:08Speaker 3: didn't run as much.
- 6:09Speaker 4: He shouldn't run unless it's a situation for him to run.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I don't like the idea because I think he can
- 6:17Speaker 1: probably get in his head to where he's hearing everybody
- 6:20Speaker 1: say what he should and he shouldn't do, what type
- 6:23Speaker 1: of quarterback he should be. As a quarterback, you should
- 6:25Speaker 1: take what the defense gives you. If it allows you,
- 6:28Speaker 1: if it says stand in the pocket, deliver the ball,
- 6:30Speaker 1: go through progression.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Do that. If the pressure.
- 6:33Speaker 1: gets you, moves you out of pocket, and you can
- 6:36Speaker 1: keep your eyes upfield. And if you see guys open,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you throw it. But if a lane there and you
- 6:41Speaker 1: can get the first down, go get the first down.
- 6:44Speaker 1: If there's a receiver in your vicinity for you to
- 6:46Speaker 1: just dump the ball to him, let that guy get
- 6:49Speaker 1: the first.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Down and minimize the risk on him running, give it
- 6:53Speaker 4: to the guys to make the plays. Ultimately, he's going
- 6:55Speaker 4: to get those yards anyway. It's going to be passing
- 6:58Speaker 4: yards to the receivers.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Let's talk about this very low-scoring Vikings-Bears game.
- 7:03Speaker 2: 9-3. 9-3.
- 7:04Speaker 1: What happened there? But there's a reason why I think
- 7:07Speaker 1: that it was a low-scoring game. Me playing football, understanding
- 7:11Speaker 1: these divisions, you got the NFC South, the NFC– every
- 7:16Speaker 1: division has NFC South, East, West, North, whatever the case
- 7:21Speaker 1: may be.
- 7:21Speaker 4: AFC the same way.
- 7:23Speaker 1: When you come to these division games when they know
- 7:26Speaker 1: each other– This is what you're going to get.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Low-scoring games.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Low-scoring game. But 9-3?
- 7:30Speaker 2: That's a soccer score.
- 7:33Speaker 4: That's a baseball game, to be quite honest.
- 7:36Speaker 1: But this is the type of game you're going to
- 7:37Speaker 1: get when teams are familiar with each other. Defenses are
- 7:41Speaker 1: familiar with the opponent's offense. Offenses are familiar with the
- 7:45Speaker 1: opposing team's defense. But then I think a big key
- 7:48Speaker 1: to this, Caleb has an injury late in the game.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I would have thought the dude, tore his ACL.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Oh, the way they took him out.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I mean, he rushed at his Achilles.
- 7:58Speaker 2: He had the Spike Lee truck floating back.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, I would have thought the guy was
- 8:04Speaker 1: going to be out maybe for an extent period of
- 8:06Speaker 1: time toward the end of the year based on how
- 8:08Speaker 1: I saw my optics of how he went down and
- 8:11Speaker 1: how he was.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Helped off the field.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I think they're just saying week to week.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Now they're saying week to week. They're saying it's a
- 8:17Speaker 1: hamstring injury. Bro, you would have thought somebody snipered him from...
- 8:22Speaker 1: From the 400 section.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yes. Caleb!
- 8:27Speaker 4: Bro. I mean, you talk about dramatics. I mean, bro.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I mean, I can't imagine being a Chicago Bears fan
- 8:36Speaker 1: and watching that.
- 8:37Speaker 4: And he's been playing. He played exceptionally well the first week. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 4: 57 points. Yeah, something like that.
- 8:45Speaker 2: 37 last week, yeah.
- 8:48Speaker 4: I think if he's upright, he finishes the game. The
- 8:51Speaker 4: Bears win.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Eagles-Titans. Eagles come out with another win, 24-20.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yes, yes.
- 8:59Speaker 2: People still don't give Jalen his just due.
- 9:02Speaker 4: I think we all know what it is, but... What
- 9:05Speaker 4: is it, T.O.? We know what that is.
- 9:07Speaker 2: What is it?
- 9:09Speaker 4: I had and I saw the discussion with Dan Orlowski.
- 9:13Speaker 4: First of all, the idea that Dan Orlowski, I think
- 9:18Speaker 4: he's changed his tune a bit.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I think he has to.
- 9:20Speaker 4: But Yeah, he has to.
- 9:23Speaker 1: But if you see what Jalen Hurts has done over
- 9:26Speaker 1: the last four or five years, just imagine, just see
- 9:29Speaker 1: what he did this past weekend. The comeback hit, they
- 9:32Speaker 1: were down. I think it was maybe a minute or
- 9:34Speaker 1: two left in the game. That's not a lot of time.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And when you talk about clutch quarterbacks, Super Bowl caliber quarterbacks,
- 9:41Speaker 1: quarterbacks to lead you to victories, when you talk about leadership,
- 9:44Speaker 1: this is what this guy possesses. When you talk about
- 9:47Speaker 1: a guy that can make all the plays with his feet,
- 9:49Speaker 1: with his arms, That's what this guy, that's what he
- 9:52Speaker 1: possesses in Jalen Hurts.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Past the Darius Cooper, I think it was the last
- 9:57Speaker 2: nine seconds of the game.
- 9:58Speaker 4: This is what he's supposed to do.
- 10:00Speaker 2: To do.
- 10:00Speaker 4: This is what you expect.
- 10:01Speaker 1: When you're a Philly fan, they expect these things. They
- 10:05Speaker 1: don't want it to be this close, but I think
- 10:07Speaker 1: he delivered. Take that, Dan Orlowski.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Take that.
- 10:12Speaker 1: So Dan Orlowski was on a set with his co-host,
- 10:16Speaker 1: Evan Cohen.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Cohen put him on the spot. Because I think he's
- 10:20Speaker 4: seeing the slander.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He's biased.
- 10:22Speaker 1: The underlying, the subtleties, little subtle hints of he's not
- 10:29Speaker 1: appreciative of what Jalen Hurts is doing.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It's never about what he's doing. It's about what he's
- 10:34Speaker 2: not doing.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Right. It's always about what he's not doing.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But again, he's proving week in and week out and
- 10:40Speaker 1: year to year that he can do it. And honestly,
- 10:44Speaker 1: it shouldn't be based on color. But at the end
- 10:47Speaker 1: of the day, it's all about... Black quarterbacks, white quarterbacks.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Can they do it? Can they deliver? It was one
- 10:52Speaker 1: time like all they were known for is running quarterbacks.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Can they read defenses? Can they make the right throws?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Are they accurate enough? These black quarterbacks are doing exactly
- 11:02Speaker 1: what they were looked not to do.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Dallas.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 11:07Speaker 2: After this week is one-on-one. Did you pick the Cowboys
- 11:10Speaker 2: over the Commanders?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I picked the Cowboys.
- 11:13Speaker 2: You did, huh?
- 11:14Speaker 4: Great win by the Cowboys.
- 11:17Speaker 2: They needed this win.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Again, another injury, unfortunate injury to a starting quarterback, Jaden Daniels.
- 11:26Speaker 4: For no reason.
- 11:28Speaker 2: It was four down.
- 11:29Speaker 3: They could have kicked the field goal, came back after halftime,
- 11:32Speaker 3: had the ball, and he'd have a nice elbow to
- 11:35Speaker 3: play with.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I'm not even questioning it. I'm not even questioning that.
- 11:38Speaker 4: It's hindsight.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You can go back and be like, oh, he should
- 11:41Speaker 1: have done this or they should have done that. This
- 11:43Speaker 1: has nothing to do with that. I think his training
- 11:45Speaker 1: style failed him. To be honest... This is a, his
- 11:50Speaker 1: elbow that he dislocated is his non-throwing hand.
- 11:54Speaker 4: You just had an horrific injury last year that took
- 11:57Speaker 4: you out.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Same elbow.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I don't know what rehab that he did over the summer,
- 12:01Speaker 1: but I think anybody knows, I'm not a doctor by
- 12:04Speaker 1: any means.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I think his training staff failed him.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I think himself, he has to police himself to understand, like,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you know what you needed to do during the off
- 12:12Speaker 1: season to better and like improve and rehab on the
- 12:14Speaker 1: injuries from years prior. Those are things you want to
- 12:18Speaker 1: prioritize because you don't want to go into the season
- 12:20Speaker 1: with those same injuries reoccurring. So I think he has
- 12:24Speaker 1: to police himself better. The training staff, number one, that's
- 12:28Speaker 1: the face of your– like this is the face of
- 12:30Speaker 1: your franchise. If he doesn't go, if he's not on
- 12:33Speaker 1: that field, then you're not going to win games. Magic Johnson,
- 12:37Speaker 1: isn't he part owner of the Washington Commanders, if I'm
- 12:40Speaker 1: not mistaken? Like there's a lot at stake with the
- 12:43Speaker 1: Washington Commanders.
- 12:44Speaker 2: You think Magic said something?
- 12:45Speaker 1: Man, I mean– You got to understand what's at stake here.
- 12:50Speaker 1: The guy had a phenomenal rookie season. I mean, he
- 12:54Speaker 1: was slicing the day, like he was carving defenses up.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And then obviously an injury happened. Now this same injury occurs.
- 13:01Speaker 4: This is not good for Jaden Daniels, not good for
- 13:03Speaker 4: the Washington Commanders.
- 13:05Speaker 1: My thing is, if nothing else, I guarantee if he
- 13:08Speaker 1: doesn't have to have surgery, they're going to have to
- 13:10Speaker 1: put a brace on there because it's just none throwing them.
- 13:12Speaker 4: You don't really need that. You don't need that.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Well, he needs to catch himself when he falls.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, but my thing is, that's why
- 13:18Speaker 1: you need to put a brace on there to help take,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you know, take pressure off, you know, the dislocation.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Name the best player you think that their career or
- 13:28Speaker 3: a player, a player, they got, they got derailed by injury.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Like, who would have been like elite? I can't F
- 13:34Speaker 2: with you. You're, if, had they not got hurt.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Oh, that's, Without question, easy peasy, Bo Jackson.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 1: At first I was thinking, on top of my head,
- 13:46Speaker 1: I was thinking Todd Gurley. But then the running back
- 13:50Speaker 1: thing kind of just kept jogging in my head, and
- 13:52Speaker 1: I'm like, running back, Bo Jackson.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Bo Jackson.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Bro. I didn't get to see him play pro. I mean,
- 13:59Speaker 4: I saw highlights.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Sure.
- 14:01Speaker 4: But I saw him, I mean, I remember him at Auburn, too.
- 14:04Speaker 2: That's right. At Auburn.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And then hearing the stories of, Man, him and Deion,
- 14:10Speaker 1: they're some of the greatest, exceptional athletes that has ever
- 14:16Speaker 1: walked this planet, including me. But you can't deny what
- 14:21Speaker 1: Bo Jackson, bro.
- 14:23Speaker 4: You watch those highlights, dude.
- 14:24Speaker 2: How about just breaking a baseball bat with his hands?
- 14:27Speaker 4: That too, in itself. Like to play both sports. These
- 14:30Speaker 4: are high-level sports that, especially baseball, you hitting the ball,
- 14:36Speaker 4: That stick trying to put on a baseball going 90
- 14:40Speaker 4: to 100 miles an hour. I mean, an average person
- 14:43Speaker 4: can't hit it 60.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Miles an hour, let alone 90 plus. And he was
- 14:50Speaker 1: doing that at a very high level, he and Deion.
- 14:53Speaker 3: But here's what's so funny talking about hitting a 90
- 14:54Speaker 3: to 100 mile an hour ball. Me and Anthony Anderson
- 14:57Speaker 3: went to Boston. We had to do an event out
- 14:58Speaker 3: there for the.
- 15:01Speaker 2: First tee golf. We went to.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Batting cages?
- 15:04Speaker 2: No, at Big Poppy. We went downstairs at the.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Boston Red Sox.
- 15:08Speaker 2: The Red Sox. So downstairs, they have a... The batting cage.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Big Poppy was throwing the ball to us to hit...
- 15:14Speaker 2: And he's a hitter.
- 15:15Speaker 3: He's throwing the ball at 65... We could not hit it.
- 15:20Speaker 4: And he's not even a pitcher. 65-70.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Shoot! So I can't imagine what 95 looks like.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Well, that doesn't surprise me. Neither one of you guys
- 15:30Speaker 4: are athletes anyway.
- 15:30Speaker 2: We are athletes.
- 15:31Speaker 4: No, you're not.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Because of the knee injury. Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Okay, okay.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Let's talk about Dak, though.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Dak was not whack this week. Dak was not whack
- 15:43Speaker 1: this week. The Cowboys, they got their elusive win.
- 15:47Speaker 4: This is good. They needed to get in the win column.
- 15:49Speaker 4: To start out the season 0-2, they didn't trust me.
- 15:53Speaker 1: No.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Dallas didn't want to have that.
- 15:55Speaker 3: And, you know, with the 249th touchdown, he passed your boy,
- 15:59Speaker 3: Tony Romo.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Well, if I would have been there, he would still
- 16:03Speaker 1: be chasing. He would still be chasing. But, unfortunately, that
- 16:06Speaker 1: was not the case. So, yeah, I mean, kudos to Dak.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I mean, 249 touchdowns, there's nothing to sneeze at. Um,
- 16:15Speaker 1: he has a lot, I'm sure a lot of people
- 16:17Speaker 1: to thank for that. Um, but it's a, uh, uh,
- 16:19Speaker 1: really a tribute to what he has done throughout his career.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I mean, he took over for Romo, um, put, put,
- 16:26Speaker 1: really put Romo in the rear view mirror once he
- 16:29Speaker 1: got the, got, got a chance to play.
- 16:31Speaker 4: And, uh, he's not looking back.
- 16:33Speaker 2: In their prime.
- 16:34Speaker 4: In their prime. In their prime.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Dak or Romo?
- 16:37Speaker 4: Um, I mean, it pains me to say this, but I'm, I'm, I'm,
- 16:39Speaker 4: it pains me. I ain't gonna tell a lie.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It pains me to say this based on how, uh,
- 16:44Speaker 1: on my departure from the Cowboys and how I know
- 16:48Speaker 1: part of the reasons why I'm not, I wasn't there.
- 16:51Speaker 4: But I would have to go to, I would have
- 16:52Speaker 4: to say Romo. Really?
- 16:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I mean, with my play style, again, I'm not going
- 16:58Speaker 1: to hate on the dude. The dude could ball. I mean,
- 17:01Speaker 1: we did some great things in my three years there.
- 17:03Speaker 1: From what I understand, I had like, what, 38 touchdowns
- 17:06Speaker 1: in three years. That's almost like 10, averaging almost 10
- 17:10Speaker 1: a year. So we did some great things.
- 17:12Speaker 2: One in 10.
- 17:14Speaker 1: But unfortunately, it came to an end. So it is
- 17:18Speaker 1: what it is. Chris, let's talk about get your popcorn ready.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Who did what this weekend? Who popped off? Who showed out?
- 17:28Speaker 1: First of all, you had to show up. Then you
- 17:29Speaker 1: show out.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Here's my popcorn power five.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Number five. Number five. It is Bryce Young. Bryce Young.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I told everybody, Bryce Young, this is going to be
- 17:42Speaker 1: his year this year. Because he's starting to develop. He's
- 17:45Speaker 1: starting to get comfortable. He's starting to utilize his weapons.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Let's see what Bryce Young did. 23 for 36, 287
- 17:52Speaker 1: pass yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and two of those
- 17:56Speaker 1: touchdowns went to the guy that was out of the
- 17:59Speaker 1: league just a few years ago, a couple years ago,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and Darren Waller from the Raiders.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:05Speaker 4: That's number five.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Number four.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Number four, Brock Lesnar. Purdy, my 49ers, my 49ers. Hey, Brock,
- 18:13Speaker 1: 20 for 22, very offensive. Bro, he only missed two
- 18:16Speaker 1: passes in this game. 287 pass yards, two touchdowns, passing,
- 18:22Speaker 1: one rushing, and a passer rating 149.1. 149.1 off the charts.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Number three, the receiver out of Seattle, Jackson Smith and Jigba.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It's about time he gave a receiver some love.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Hey, they got to show up. You know what I mean?
- 18:44Speaker 1: Ain't nobody stepping up to the plate. So let's see
- 18:46Speaker 1: what he did. Man, nine reception, 155 yards, three touchdowns.
- 18:51Speaker 1: These are my type of numbers. These are my type
- 18:55Speaker 1: of numbers right here. This is why he's not number one,
- 18:58Speaker 1: but he's close. He's number three.
- 19:00Speaker 4: He's number two. Number two. I already know what this
- 19:03Speaker 4: one is. I ain't got to look at this one.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Josh Allen for the Buffalo Bills, Bills Mafia. Let me
- 19:08Speaker 1: give my guy some love. Man, Josh Allen, 20 for 31,
- 19:15Speaker 1: 248 pass yards, three passing touchdowns, 69 rush yards with
- 19:22Speaker 1: two rushing TDs.
- 19:24Speaker 2: That's black quarterback stats.
- 19:25Speaker 3: What?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Boy, hey, Josh, you might have a little brother in you.
- 19:29Speaker 2: What?
- 19:29Speaker 4: Hey, you might have a little brother in you.
- 19:31Speaker 2: It might be Marcus Allen's little stepson or something. Hey,
- 19:34Speaker 2: let me tell you something.
- 19:36Speaker 1: This is good for Josh Allen, and this is why
- 19:38Speaker 1: he's close.
- 19:39Speaker 4: He's number two. Number one is going to be well-deserving.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Just hold on to your popcorn and your soda. I'll
- 19:45Speaker 1: get to him in a minute. But Josh Allen, they're 2-0.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Great win.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I mean, he's playing exceptional football for a quarterback, and
- 19:56Speaker 1: this is what the Buffalo Bills want him to do. Hey,
- 20:00Speaker 1: they're starting off well. They need to end well. This
- 20:02Speaker 1: is what they're looking for at the end of the
- 20:03Speaker 1: season going into the playoffs. So, hey, it's early, but
- 20:06Speaker 1: let me just tell you now, Josh Allen, Let's go.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Bill's Mafia.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Number one.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Uh-oh.
- 20:14Speaker 4: For get your popcorn ready, pile five.
- 20:16Speaker 2: I think I have an idea who it is.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Your popcorn, pile five.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Number one, Devin Lloyd, number 55 of the Carolina Panthers.
- 20:25Speaker 1: This is why he's number one. Because what he did
- 20:29Speaker 1: this weekend is hard to do.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Rare for a linebacker. Rare.
- 20:35Speaker 4: And not every defensive, this is a defensive player's dream.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 20:40Speaker 4: A quarterback, they can have those numbers any given week.
- 20:43Speaker 1: That's why I picked Josh Allen number two because he
- 20:48Speaker 1: can get those numbers any week. But to do something
- 20:50Speaker 1: what Devin Lloyd did, that's hard to come by. Like
- 20:52Speaker 1: you said, it's very, very rare. Nine tackles, two tackle
- 20:57Speaker 1: for losses, one sack, two interceptions. One of them went
- 21:03Speaker 1: for a pick six. Three passes deflected. You can't get
- 21:08Speaker 1: any better than that.
- 21:09Speaker 2: There was ESPY numbers.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Bro.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Him running that second one for the touchdown.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Oh, let me tell you something. He was not going
- 21:16Speaker 4: to be denied on that.
- 21:17Speaker 2: And he almost could have got it with the first one.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Right. If he had a little bit more, you know.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I think he was so shocked. Let me tell you something.
- 21:24Speaker 2: If he had a.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Little more oomph to him, he may have had two
- 21:28Speaker 4: pick sixes. But you can't. This is nothing to sneeze at.
- 21:32Speaker 1: To have two interceptions and one go for a pick six.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Devin Lloyd, you are this week's get your popcorn ready, popcorn.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Number one player of the week. Bro, you did your thing.
- 21:50Speaker 1: You did what you were supposed to do on the
- 21:52Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball in helping the Carolina Panthers
- 21:56Speaker 1: get their win.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Hey, y'all keep doing what y'all doing.
- 21:59Speaker 1: This football season is heating up, and every week feels
- 22:02Speaker 1: bigger with DraftKings. The DraftKings Sports app is now live
- 22:07Speaker 1: in all 50 states. That means from Texas to California
- 22:10Speaker 1: to Florida, every fan is in on the excitement. Follow
- 22:14Speaker 1: the teams you love, keep up with the biggest games,
- 22:17Speaker 1: and experience the excitement of football all week long. No
- 22:21Speaker 1: matter which game you're watching, you're always connected with one app.
- 22:24Speaker 2: All right, y'all. This is the second movie we like
- 22:26Speaker 2: to call Get to the Pick. Who you got, sir?
- 22:29Speaker 2: This is week three. We got Ravens at Cowboys. Now
- 22:33Speaker 2: let's add something a little special to this game.
- 22:36Speaker 3: It's not gonna be in Baltimore and it's not gonna
- 22:38Speaker 3: be in Dallas. It's gonna be in Rio de Janeiro.
- 22:42Speaker 3: That is a 10 hour flight from Dallas, a 14
- 22:45Speaker 3: hour flight from Baltimore.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Well, I know one thing is gonna be not in
- 22:50Speaker 1: question is the travel. I know both of those teams
- 22:53Speaker 1: are gonna.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Be, they gonna be on site a little bit earlier.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I think everybody got their dose of reality with the
- 23:00Speaker 1: Rams and 49ers game.
- 23:01Speaker 2: What were you thinking? Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Ravens, Cowboys, you know what? Bella, this is your team.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I am not betting against the Ravens this week. I
- 23:15Speaker 1: know they're going to be pissed off. They're going to be, hey, Bella,
- 23:19Speaker 1: this is your favorite team, so I know that you're
- 23:22Speaker 1: going to be rooting for the Ravens this week.
- 23:24Speaker 4: So it didn't happen last week. This week, I'm going
- 23:27Speaker 4: with the Ravens. I'm going with your team, the Ravens.
- 23:29Speaker 3: What does Lamar have to do to secure this win?
- 23:32Speaker 4: Be Lamar.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Do what he does best. I mean, people are going
- 23:36Speaker 1: to say, well, that's run the football. But all he
- 23:40Speaker 1: needs to do is just take what the defense gives him. Obviously,
- 23:44Speaker 1: the game plan will predicate on what he really does
- 23:48Speaker 1: with the football. If it's a running game, if they're
- 23:51Speaker 1: having success, then it's going to be a heavy dose
- 23:54Speaker 1: of Derrick Henry. If they're not stopping it, keep running
- 23:58Speaker 1: it until they do.
- 23:59Speaker 2: What happens if Derrick Henry only gets the ball five times?
- 24:01Speaker 4: Let me tell you something. If he gets that ball
- 24:04Speaker 4: five times in the second half again, I'm sorry, Bella.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Your team is not going to be very successful this year.
- 24:11Speaker 1: So honestly, to be quite honest, if Derrick Henry runs
- 24:15Speaker 1: the ball efficiently, if Lamar Jackson passes and does what
- 24:18Speaker 1: he needs to do, goes through his progressions, get the
- 24:21Speaker 1: ball to the receivers, I ain't going to say it's
- 24:25Speaker 1: an easy win, but it's a win they should have.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Like I said, travel out of the picture. Everybody's going
- 24:33Speaker 1: to be there on soil. Enough rest. Get acclimated to
- 24:38Speaker 1: the environment.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Go over there.
- 24:40Speaker 1: It's a business trip. Go over there and handle business.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Get back to Baltimore. Get ready for week one.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Now, how does Dak make sure that doesn't happen?
- 24:47Speaker 1: I heard Dak say in his postgame presser with Aaron Andrews,
- 24:52Speaker 1: He says going into this week, that's a confidence booster
- 24:55Speaker 1: for them. They needed that win to go into this
- 24:58Speaker 1: week because 0-2 would be, this would be a must
- 25:01Speaker 1: win for them if they were 0-2 this week. But
- 25:03Speaker 1: I think they're going to have some momentum built on
- 25:05Speaker 1: what they did with last week's game.
- 25:07Speaker 4: This time, both teams will be in a neutral site.
- 25:10Speaker 4: They're going on the road. This is a business trip.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I know I've been, I played an international game before,
- 25:16Speaker 1: but any game you go on the road, both of
- 25:18Speaker 1: these games, both of these teams, this is a business trip.
- 25:21Speaker 1: You want to go Go have a little bit of
- 25:23Speaker 1: fun if you can do that.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Don't have too much fun. It's Rio de Janeiro.
- 25:28Speaker 4: The main purpose of this trip is go get a win.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Chargers-Bills. Can anybody slow down? Bills.
- 25:34Speaker 4: I'm taking Bills all day on this.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Josh Allen.
- 25:37Speaker 4: I'm predicting at least by two touchdowns.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I'm going to start calling him Josh Marcus Allen.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Right. Bills in this one. I'm not really seeing a
- 25:47Speaker 4: lot from the Chargers. I mean.
- 25:50Speaker 2: They're 0-2.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, they're about to be 0-3. I don't
- 25:54Speaker 1: think that, I don't foresee them beating that. Right now,
- 25:58Speaker 1: the Bills are on fire.
- 26:00Speaker 4: They're hot. They're hot right now. So, yeah, point blank,
- 26:04Speaker 4: point blank period. The Bills are winning this.
- 26:06Speaker 2: All right, here we go. Eagles versus Bears. Can the
- 26:09Speaker 2: Bears bounce back?
- 26:10Speaker 4: No, without Caleb, no.
- 26:12Speaker 2: But we don't know if Caleb's gone.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Oh, he's gone. The way he got, the way he
- 26:16Speaker 4: walked off.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was dramatic.
- 26:17Speaker 1: No, let me tell you something. He'll be fooling everybody
- 26:22Speaker 1: if he comes back and play in this game.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Pull a Willis Reed. What?
- 26:26Speaker 4: Man, no. I'm going with my Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts,
- 26:32Speaker 4: who's playing exceptional football. He did what he was supposed
- 26:35Speaker 4: to do last week, being down, fourth quarter comeback, putting
- 26:39Speaker 4: his team to, you know, throwing the ball. Yeah, pass
- 26:43Speaker 4: to Cooper for the go-ahead touchdown and the win.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I'm picking.
- 26:48Speaker 4: And I'm flying high with my Philadelphia Eagles. That backup quarterback,
- 26:52Speaker 4: I mean, he has to face the likes of Cooper Dijon,
- 26:57Speaker 4: Jalen Carter, just a host of guys in the secondary.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Nolan Smith.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Nolan Smith.
- 27:02Speaker 1: So if this guy is going to come in and
- 27:04Speaker 1: try to be successful, they're going to try to keep
- 27:06Speaker 1: the game playing very simple for a backup quarterback. Obviously,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I think this is probably going to be his first
- 27:12Speaker 1: real game. So I just don't see him having a
- 27:16Speaker 1: lot of success.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Rams, Denver.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Rams, Broncos. Man, Rams, Broncos. I mean, let's see.
- 27:24Speaker 4: I mean, this will be Aaron Donald's second game. That's
- 27:26Speaker 4: a short week for the Rams. So, I mean, the
- 27:30Speaker 4: Broncos are playing well.
- 27:32Speaker 2: What does McVay have to do?
- 27:34Speaker 1: Get there early. Get there early. But outside of that,
- 27:42Speaker 1: let's just see. Let's just see what Aaron Donald can
- 27:45Speaker 1: do with the absence of Myles Garrett.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Let's see what he can do bringing.
- 27:50Speaker 1: That morale and disrupting what he– I mean, Aaron Donald,
- 27:54Speaker 1: he's a one-man wrecking crew. If he does what I
- 27:58Speaker 1: think he's going to do, they're going to have to
- 28:00Speaker 1: account for him, but that's going to allow other players
- 28:02Speaker 1: to make plays around him.
- 28:04Speaker 2: All right, this next game is an AFC North game.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Conference rivalry. Ooh, who is this? Who we got? Bengals Steelers.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Bengals Steelers. Ooh, steel curtain versus.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Steelers are coming off of a loss.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Man, I'm really trying to root for Aaron Rodgers.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I'm hoping he can find his stride, his fountain of youth.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I'm hoping he can find some consistency, some trust in
- 28:33Speaker 1: his receivers. I'm looking for some flashes of Green Bay
- 28:38Speaker 1: Packers Aaron Rodgers. Because I know he can do it.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Even at this age?
- 28:44Speaker 4: Yes, bro. Age is nothing but a number.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I don't like that when people bring up somebody's age
- 28:50Speaker 1: as far as like if they can play.
- 28:52Speaker 2: You have to take it into some consideration. Yeah. 40-year-old T.O.
- 28:56Speaker 2: ain't 20-year-old T.O.
- 28:57Speaker 4: No, it's not.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But when you have knowledge of the game and you
- 29:00Speaker 1: know how to play the game, And for him, if
- 29:02Speaker 1: he has the necessary weapons around him, that will bode
- 29:05Speaker 1: well for him.
- 29:06Speaker 2: You think that works better as a quarterback?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yes, because that's, I mean, it makes a quarterback's job
- 29:12Speaker 1: easier when you have weapons and all you got to
- 29:14Speaker 1: do is you have the protection.
- 29:16Speaker 4: And for him, all he got to be is accurate.
- 29:18Speaker 4: All he got to be is on point.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Go through his regressions, read the defenses, pre-snap, during the play,
- 29:24Speaker 1: whatever the case may be. What you don't want to
- 29:27Speaker 1: do for a 40-year-old quarterback is getting out of the
- 29:29Speaker 1: pocket defensively trying to make plays.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Right, running.
- 29:32Speaker 1: That's not what you want to do. Can he do
- 29:35Speaker 1: it at times? Yes, but that's not, you want, you
- 29:38Speaker 1: don't want to hang your hat on that. That's what
- 29:40Speaker 1: I mean by, I know he has it in him.
- 29:43Speaker 1: If you put the right pieces around him, he can
- 29:45Speaker 1: be successful. And then again, he has this old quarterback from,
- 29:48Speaker 1: from Mike McCarthy, his Superbowl, you know, champion quarterback, you know, coach.
- 29:53Speaker 4: So yeah. Yeah. He has a Superbowl coach at his,
- 29:58Speaker 4: at his, I mean, it's right in his pocket.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Right. So what does Joe Burrow have to do to
- 30:03Speaker 2: make sure this don't happen?
- 30:05Speaker 4: What Joe Burrow need to do is get that ball
- 30:08Speaker 4: to number one, Jamar Chase. His other receiver, T. Higgins.
- 30:15Speaker 1: If they can do that, I don't know. It doesn't
- 30:20Speaker 1: matter who's in the secondary. Those two receivers right there,
- 30:23Speaker 1: they're very dynamic.
- 30:25Speaker 2: You have a very.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Capable quarterback, a quarterback that got the team to the
- 30:29Speaker 1: Super Bowl like three, four years ago. If they can
- 30:32Speaker 1: get back to that, hmm. So, I'm going to go
- 30:37Speaker 1: with the Cincinnati Bengals on this one.
- 30:40Speaker 2: All right. Just so we can know your picks, all right?
- 30:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'll put a list. I just want to hear it
- 30:48Speaker 2: in order, okay? Ravens versus Cowboys, you have the.
- 30:54Speaker 2: You said it earlier. Ravens. Okay. Chargers, Bills, you have the? Eagles. Eagles, Bears,
- 31:00Speaker 2: you have the? Eagles. Okay. Rams, Broncos, you have the?
- 31:05Speaker 4: Broncos.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Bengals, Steelers, you have the? Bengals. And which of those
- 31:08Speaker 2: picks are you the most confident in?
- 31:11Speaker 4: Eagles.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Eagles. Okay.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Which of these players, I know you're going to pick,
- 31:20Speaker 3: I think, but who do you think is.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Going to pop this week?
- 31:25Speaker 4: Oh, who I think is going to pop this week?

- 32:24Speaker 5: the point with something else. We rarely talk about college football.
- 32:26Speaker 4: UCLA won. Roll Tide, you know, I love my Alabama.
- 32:52Speaker 4: I'm from Alabama. I love Crimson Tide.
- 32:53Speaker 2: How did you even go there?
- 32:55Speaker 4: I wasn't good enough.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Really?
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I wasn't good enough.
- 32:58Speaker 2: So you got better and better as time went on.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:01Speaker 2: LSU, Ole Miss.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Ooh! Hey.
- 33:04Speaker 2: People were waiting for that game. Boy, hey. I can't, man.
- 33:10Speaker 4: This, hey, I can't imagine. You talking about rivalry games?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Did they throw Lane Kiffin on it?
- 33:16Speaker 4: Man, Lane Kiffin.
- 33:17Speaker 1: To go back to where you once were, where you
- 33:20Speaker 1: were successful, and then the way that he departed going
- 33:24Speaker 1: into the playoffs last year, I think a lot of
- 33:27Speaker 1: the players felt.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Like he just left them high and dry.
- 33:30Speaker 2: He did.
- 33:30Speaker 1: But I understand business decisions too.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Money. So to come back, to go back to your old,
- 33:36Speaker 4: you obviously want to win. Right.
- 33:38Speaker 1: You obviously want to win. And the coach that replaced him,
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'm sure he wants to, like, oh. And he took
- 33:44Speaker 1: them really deep. He took them in the playoff deep, too.
- 33:46Speaker 1: So this was juicy. Everybody was talking about this LSU
- 33:52Speaker 1: Ole Miss game. And I think it lived up to
- 33:54Speaker 1: the hype. Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers, they have
- 33:58Speaker 1: a lot of work to do. My son goes to LSU,
- 34:01Speaker 1: and he's texting me, talking about, go Tigers.
- 34:04Speaker 4: What you think about this? I said, look, man, Ole
- 34:08Speaker 4: Miss is about to tear you all up. I get it.
- 34:11Speaker 4: He goes to school. I'm going to excuse you, son.
- 34:14Speaker 4: He just doesn't know football.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I know football. I knew Ole Miss was going to
- 34:19Speaker 1: tear that ass up. Tear that ass up.
- 34:22Speaker 4: And there was a lot of hostility leading up to
- 34:25Speaker 4: that week. Even the players I heard, like Coach, you know,
- 34:27Speaker 4: they're going through the– and he should know, but he
- 34:29Speaker 4: knows anyway. He knew that there was going to be
- 34:31Speaker 4: a lot of hostility. He knew there was going to
- 34:33Speaker 4: be people attacking him, the people that once loved you.
- 34:36Speaker 4: They're going to be hating you. I went through that.
- 34:38Speaker 4: I played in Philly. Played with the Dallas. Then Dallas.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Then I went back. Man, I know what that's like.
- 34:45Speaker 2: What was it like?
- 34:45Speaker 4: Man, I'm already knowing. You have to get yourself prepared
- 34:48Speaker 4: for that. When you're with them, they love you.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Is your heart racing? Are you nervous?
- 34:52Speaker 4: Nah. Nah. Nah. Nah.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Are you ready to show out?
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Are you trying to prove to the fans you made
- 35:00Speaker 2: the right decision? Exactly. You want to win. By demolishing
- 35:02Speaker 2: their team?
- 35:03Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 35:03Speaker 2: That's going to make other people madder.
- 35:04Speaker 3: They'll be like, you should have stayed and did that
- 35:06Speaker 3: for us.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Right.
- 35:06Speaker 4: But again.
- 35:08Speaker 1: as a head coach, there's only so much you can do.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Only thing you can't get on the field and play.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You just got to call the right place. And you
- 35:13Speaker 1: got to have the defensive coordinator and the offensive coordinator
- 35:16Speaker 1: to call the right place. You ultimately going to get
- 35:18Speaker 1: the win, the W the team going to win, but
- 35:21Speaker 1: everything that that team.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Does, you're the head coach. It rides on you. So
- 35:26Speaker 4: they came up short and he was, I saw the
- 35:28Speaker 4: press conference. He was very respectful. He was humble.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Um, And, yeah, he gave Ole Miss their kudos. He
- 35:34Speaker 1: gave them their flowers. They went in there, and Ole
- 35:37Speaker 1: Miss spanked that button. They tucked their tail. Those Tigers
- 35:41Speaker 1: tucked that tail, got back on that bus, and.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Back to Death Valley they went.
- 35:45Speaker 2: As a Cowboy going back to Philly. Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 4: How was that?
- 35:49Speaker 2: I mean, they had to be pissed.
- 35:51Speaker 1: First of all, playing in Philly, honestly, it may have
- 35:54Speaker 1: been like one of the best experiences that I had.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Number one, I told you, Andy Reid, one of the
- 35:59Speaker 1: best coaches, offensive coaches that I ever played for. me
- 36:03Speaker 1: being able to really flourish and play to my strengths
- 36:06Speaker 1: and my abilities, which I felt like in San Francisco
- 36:09Speaker 1: I wasn't able to do. Now playing, then playing with
- 36:13Speaker 1: the Eagles, knowing what they had offensively, and then you
- 36:16Speaker 1: add more firepower to what they already had as a
- 36:19Speaker 1: high powered type of offense. And then knowing the defense,
- 36:22Speaker 1: I'm knowing like at any given, like during the course
- 36:26Speaker 1: of the game, like, I just knew we were going
- 36:28Speaker 1: to get the ball a lot. So that means we're
- 36:30Speaker 1: going to score a lot because if the defense is
- 36:33Speaker 1: not allowing the other team to move the ball down
- 36:35Speaker 1: the field, three and out, three.
- 36:36Speaker 4: And out, that's more opportunities for us as an offense.
- 36:39Speaker 4: And for me, that's more opportunities for me to get
- 36:41Speaker 4: my hands on the ball.
- 36:42Speaker 1: So I already knew going into Philly, it was going to,
- 36:46Speaker 1: like I said, we just had to just gel, do.
- 36:47Speaker 4: What we did.
- 36:49Speaker 1: And to go to play into that, that NFC rivalry games.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I mean, I played, San Francisco Cowboys, that was a rivalry.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Then at some point it was us and then the St.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Louis Rams. That was a rivalry. Now I'm with the
- 37:03Speaker 4: Eagles playing against the Dallas Cowboys. Man, that was a
- 37:06Speaker 4: rivalry in itself. So when I played with them.
- 37:09Speaker 2: After some of the shenanigans you did.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Man, like we destroyed Dallas. Then I leave Philly, go
- 37:16Speaker 1: to Dallas. Now I'm a Dallas Cowboy. Now I got
- 37:19Speaker 1: to go back to the Lions then. I'm already knowing, bro,
- 37:23Speaker 1: they were eating.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Man, you heard.
- 37:26Speaker 1: They were calling me anything under the sun. Fans can be,
- 37:31Speaker 1: they get a little alcohol in them. They can say,
- 37:33Speaker 1: they can do a little bit of any and everything.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I never had any items thrown at me or anything
- 37:39Speaker 1: like that. I would have been like Ron Artis. I
- 37:42Speaker 1: would have been all up in the stands. They throw
- 37:44Speaker 1: something at me, hey, I would have been all up
- 37:46Speaker 1: in the stands.
- 37:47Speaker 2: That's your ass.
- 37:48Speaker 4: But man, it's a feeling that, I really can't put
- 37:51Speaker 4: into words. I can't describe. You just know, like you
- 37:54Speaker 4: see it on the, on the, you see the game
- 37:55Speaker 4: coming up on the calendar.
- 37:57Speaker 1: You obviously you play, you once played for that team.
- 37:59Speaker 1: So you obviously you want to play well. They knew
- 38:01Speaker 1: what I did against them with them. So now I'm
- 38:04Speaker 1: playing against a divisional opponent with, you know, the Dallas Cowboys. So,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know, the whole city, they done marked that calendar dude.
- 38:12Speaker 1: They get in, you know, you get in the press
- 38:14Speaker 1: conference and players ask, answer all these questions and, or
- 38:18Speaker 1: asked by the reporters, like, are you looking forward to
- 38:20Speaker 1: this game?
- 38:21Speaker 4: What do you think? And they're like, you know, the
- 38:22Speaker 4: typical cliche, oh, it's just another game. No, it's not.
- 38:25Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Let me ask you a question.
- 38:27Speaker 2: How many people understand? 70,000?
- 38:29Speaker 4: At least.
- 38:30Speaker 3: How many people you think are booing and how many
- 38:32Speaker 3: people are actually glad that their favorite player is back
- 38:36Speaker 3: in town?
- 38:36Speaker 4: 69,999. Are booing.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Are booing.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Yes.
- 38:39Speaker 4: 69,999. Who's the one person not booing?
- 38:41Speaker 2: 99.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Who's the one person not booing? Andy Reid.
- 38:50Speaker 2: That's good.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Andy Reid, because he loves me.
- 38:55Speaker 3: That's good.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Yeah, man, you talk about rivalries.
- 38:59Speaker 1: I can remember playing with the Dallas Cowboys, playing against
- 39:01Speaker 1: the Giants, playing in this game. I think I may
- 39:05Speaker 1: have been hurt in this game, but I was still playing.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Drew Bledsoe was the quarterback. We needed to score. We're
- 39:14Speaker 1: in the red zone. I remember this vividly. We had double,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I can't remember what the play was, but we ran
- 39:20Speaker 1: double outs, like quick outs, Omaha's or something like that.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Who was the other receiver?
- 39:25Speaker 4: The other receiver was Terry Glenn. so people to put
- 39:28Speaker 4: in context Terry Glenn played with Drew Bledsoe with the
- 39:32Speaker 4: New England Patriots with the New England Patriots myself and
- 39:36Speaker 4: Terry we're both playing with the Cowboys Drew Bledsoe is
- 39:40Speaker 4: the quarterback Tony Romo is the backup.
- 39:43Speaker 1: So to sum it all up we both run the
- 39:47Speaker 1: route I know I'm wide open I'm thinking I'm about
- 39:50Speaker 1: to get the ball based on leverage and how wide
- 39:53Speaker 1: open I was. I come out of my route and
- 39:56Speaker 1: I saw him throw it to the other side, pick,
- 39:59Speaker 1: and the game was over. And honestly, that was the
- 40:03Speaker 1: last time Drew Bledsoe ever threw for the Dallas Cowboys.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I think that may have been the last time he
- 40:09Speaker 1: threw a pass in the NFL.
- 40:14Speaker 2: From that mistake.
- 40:14Speaker 4: From that mistake.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And here comes the emergence of Tony Romo, the birth
- 40:19Speaker 1: of Tony Romo and T.O.
- 40:21Speaker 4: And after that, we tore it up.
- 40:24Speaker 2: All right. Let's move on to politics and entertainment.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Our dear friend Shaquille O'Neal struck up a little bit
- 40:34Speaker 3: of controversy by accepting this I don't want to call
- 40:40Speaker 3: it a fake award, a faux trophy, something that don't
- 40:45Speaker 3: really matter from somebody who is not a person that
- 40:50Speaker 3: is liked, definitely not by our community, with the head
- 40:53Speaker 3: of the FBI, somebody who probably would have never made
- 40:56Speaker 3: the FBI had he had to go through everything that
- 40:59Speaker 3: you have to do to become. Never in a million
- 41:02Speaker 3: years would he have been a federal agent. He was
- 41:05Speaker 3: at this event where they gave him some kind of
- 41:07Speaker 3: a badge.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Let me hear your take on it, T.O. He's a
- 41:12Speaker 2: friend of yours.
- 41:13Speaker 4: This is a very touchy subject for me because Shaq
- 41:17Speaker 4: is my guy.
- 41:18Speaker 2: He's my guy, too.
- 41:21Speaker 4: But I feel sitting here with the platform that we have,
- 41:25Speaker 4: we have to address this. Absolutely.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Like you said, this is our friend. But our friend
- 41:31Speaker 1: is wrong. He's wrong in this situation. The optics aren't good.
- 41:37Speaker 4: The response... Let me just say this. The response that
- 41:44Speaker 4: he had.
- 41:46Speaker 1: In response to Matthew Chappelle, y'all can find him on OGBigMatt510.
- 41:54Speaker 4: This guy, I've been following him before this even happened.
- 41:58Speaker 1: So he saw that Shaq took this honorary, what is it,
- 42:03Speaker 1: FBI something?
- 42:04Speaker 4: Badge. Badge or whatever. From Kash Patel.
- 42:09Speaker 1: If you're not into politics or you don't understand what
- 42:13Speaker 1: Kash Patel represents, then you're living under a rock.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Obviously, he's with the Trump administration.
- 42:19Speaker 1: The optics alone, just having Kash Patel associated with this
- 42:25Speaker 1: and him being on the same stage with this is
- 42:28Speaker 1: all wrong and all bad. Matt Chappelle, who saw this,
- 42:33Speaker 1: and I just mentioned his handle, This guy, I talked
- 42:37Speaker 1: to him personally, and I wanted to obviously give him
- 42:39Speaker 1: his proper due introduction so people can understand that this
- 42:44Speaker 1: guy is just not some fly-by-night influence or just some
- 42:49Speaker 1: guy just saw this and then responding to it or
- 42:52Speaker 1: shedding light to it. So Matthew Chappelle from Oakland. 5-1-0.
- 42:59Speaker 4: College grad. Army vet. Two tours.
- 43:05Speaker 2: IRAC.
- 43:06Speaker 4: In Afghanistan. He is a content creator. He has a podcast.
- 43:13Speaker 1: But can you take a punch podcast that he does?
- 43:19Speaker 1: So to have all of this happen, like I said,
- 43:21Speaker 1: the optics are really bad.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Matt addressed it. He didn't like it. He's been a
- 43:29Speaker 4: fan of Shaq. Yes. He went into his closet, grabbed
- 43:32Speaker 4: Shaq's shoes, his jerseys.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Two jerseys.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Put it in the trash can.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I want to correct. People were saying that he burned
- 43:39Speaker 2: the jerseys. He did not burn them. He actually went
- 43:41Speaker 2: back the next day and opened the trash can and
- 43:43Speaker 2: showed that they were still there.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Let's go to Shaq. This is not cool. This is
- 43:47Speaker 1: not a good look. And his response, he went into
- 43:51Speaker 1: Matt's IG and said, I hear you, broke boy.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Go sit in your apartment with your family.
- 43:58Speaker 2: That was a nice Shaq.
- 44:00Speaker 4: There's a lot of hypocrisy.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Shaq is known with the big Aristotle, the big What
- 44:06Speaker 1: is it?
- 44:06Speaker 2: Chamberlasy.
- 44:08Speaker 4: For me, this is the big hypocrite.
- 44:10Speaker 1: We're going to add that to his resume. Since he's
- 44:14Speaker 1: collecting all these awards, you can collect this one. Shaq,
- 44:17Speaker 1: you're wrong with this one, big guy. Big fella, you're wrong.
- 44:19Speaker 4: You may be mad at me. You can be mad
- 44:21Speaker 4: at me all you want to.
- 44:23Speaker 1: To understand what you're doing with the kids, obviously in
- 44:26Speaker 1: the community, you're supplying.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Shoes for underprivileged kids. Paid for a lot of people's colleges.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Because shoes are expensive. What you said was It was wrong.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Uncalled for.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Uncalled for.
- 44:40Speaker 2: What's worse, what he did or the response?
- 44:44Speaker 4: Both of them are wrong. There's no two ways about it.
- 44:49Speaker 1: And I think everybody has been, the response to him
- 44:53Speaker 1: and what he's done, it's been all negative. How can
- 44:56Speaker 1: he not see that what he did was wrong? For
- 44:59Speaker 1: him to have, to be who he is, number one,
- 45:01Speaker 1: this dude, He's an icon in our community. He's done
- 45:04Speaker 1: a lot of great things in the community, but that
- 45:06Speaker 1: doesn't excuse what he did. Number one, for the obvious
- 45:11Speaker 1: to go on a stage with the Trump administration, knowing
- 45:14Speaker 1: what they have done and what they're doing to the
- 45:16Speaker 1: black community, just not even just the black community alone,
- 45:19Speaker 1: but just the world, the world.
- 45:21Speaker 2: And- Farmers, gas prices.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I mean, just the state of where we are as
- 45:27Speaker 1: a country, to be on a stage, especially as a
- 45:30Speaker 1: black man and understanding what that Trump administration is doing
- 45:35Speaker 1: to the black and brown community, that says enough right there.
- 45:40Speaker 1: If you think about what he has done, and there's
- 45:45Speaker 1: some others that have been in his situation that seem
- 45:48Speaker 1: like they're politicking and they're doing it for whatever reasons.
- 45:52Speaker 1: And it almost seems like it's a theme with all
- 45:54Speaker 1: of them. Obviously, they're billionaires. They're doing something, I guess,
- 45:59Speaker 1: doing it to gain something. a personal gain, but for me,
- 46:04Speaker 1: this seems like a situation like if you can't beat them,
- 46:08Speaker 1: join them.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Some of those people are very prominent people who don't
- 46:11Speaker 2: need the money. Right.
- 46:13Speaker 3: And it feels like to me, because when I see
- 46:17Speaker 3: our heroes lay down and do some of these things,
- 46:22Speaker 3: I wonder if this administration has something on them.
- 46:26Speaker 2: You know what I mean? If you don't do X, Y,
- 46:28Speaker 2: and Z, we're going to let people know about X, Y,
- 46:29Speaker 2: and Z. And so that's why I'm not so quick
- 46:34Speaker 2: to judge.
- 46:35Speaker 1: And for me, this is disheartening what Shaq did, especially
- 46:38Speaker 1: in response to this guy.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Obviously, he didn't know who the guy is. I guess
- 46:42Speaker 4: I'm sure he knows who he is now.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Sure.
- 46:44Speaker 4: There's timing to everything. There's a time and a place
- 46:46Speaker 4: for everything.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Maybe you could have gotten this award some other time,
- 46:49Speaker 1: but this wasn't the time to do it. And I think, honestly, yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 1: this is not a good look.
- 46:55Speaker 4: If I know Shaq.
- 46:56Speaker 2: We're going through the midterms coming up.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 46:58Speaker 1: If I know Shaq and I know he a person
- 47:00Speaker 1: to carry, he's going to apologize.
- 47:00Speaker 4: He's going to apologize.
- 47:01Speaker 2: That was my next sentence. What does he have to
- 47:03Speaker 2: do to get back into good grace? And it's not
- 47:05Speaker 2: just black people.
- 47:06Speaker 4: Right. It's just like. Bro, he is a big representative
- 47:10Speaker 4: to the black community.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Again, yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'm just saying, not only black people are disappointed in
- 47:14Speaker 2: what he did.
- 47:15Speaker 4: No, yeah, that's a lot of people disappointed. And I
- 47:18Speaker 4: think just his wording, I think the DM that he
- 47:21Speaker 4: sent to him. Yeah.
- 47:24Speaker 2: And then here's another thing that's disappointing to me. I
- 47:26Speaker 2: hear you, bro. You, Shaq, you're up here. Yeah, but I—
- 47:29Speaker 2: You don't need to be DMing people and.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Fighting people's comments. You're belittling somebody. You're demeaning people. You're
- 47:36Speaker 1: punching down.
- 47:37Speaker 4: He's talking to me. I ain't got no billion dollars.
- 47:39Speaker 4: I'm broke, too, if that's the case. Everybody's broke when it—
- 47:43Speaker 4: Compared to him, yeah.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Compared to him.
- 47:45Speaker 4: But it's just— honestly, it's just not a good look. And again, Shaq,
- 47:48Speaker 4: you might not like what I got to say, bro.
- 47:51Speaker 4: That was wrong.
- 47:53Speaker 2: It was wrong.
- 47:54Speaker 4: It was wrong in so many ways.
- 47:55Speaker 1: And I think, I'm sure if he has a PR team,
- 47:58Speaker 1: but just a moral obligation to do the right thing,
- 48:01Speaker 1: I think he.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Should and he will do the right thing.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Shaq, if you want to come on this, we had
- 48:06Speaker 1: to get another, put both of these couches together to
- 48:09Speaker 1: sit your big butt in there. But if you want
- 48:11Speaker 1: to come on the show, man, come on and get
- 48:13Speaker 1: to the point. And hey, man, you got a chance
- 48:17Speaker 1: to say what you need to say to address it,
- 48:19Speaker 1: to dress me, to dress us. Come on to get
- 48:21Speaker 1: to the point, man. We want you right here.
- 48:24Speaker 2: We love it. And we have a little trash can
- 48:25Speaker 2: for your badge.
- 48:26Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, because that badge is trash. You didn't need that.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Like I said, there's a time and a place for everything.
- 48:34Speaker 1: This was not the time. Like I said, with the
- 48:37Speaker 1: climate of where our country is, to be receiving some honorary.
- 48:42Speaker 4: What, agent badge?
- 48:43Speaker 2: Yes. Come on. Shaq, man.
- 48:47Speaker 3: All right. Did you see this Converse ad? This controversial
- 48:50Speaker 3: Converse ad.
- 48:51Speaker 4: I saw it.
- 48:51Speaker 2: For those of you who have Been living under a rock.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Converse came out with an ad where there's a silhouette
- 48:58Speaker 3: kind of what looks like a Ku Klux Klan robe
- 49:01Speaker 3: and two black Chuck Taylor sneakers hanging dangling from it.
- 49:08Speaker 2: What did you think when you first saw it?
- 49:11Speaker 4: I just thought about the controversial ads that have already
- 49:16Speaker 4: been out, like your H & M back some years
- 49:19Speaker 4: ago and then.
- 49:20Speaker 1: The Target ad with the costume. This is obviously a problem.
- 49:26Speaker 1: It's no different than.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I think this sparked the reason why people are no longer.
- 49:34Speaker 4: I know a lot of black people are boycotting Target.
- 49:38Speaker 4: There's no black people in the room.
- 49:40Speaker 3: And that's why DEI is so important. So you can
- 49:41Speaker 3: have us in the room. Cause if there was somebody
- 49:43Speaker 3: black in the room, they'd be like, um, we're not
- 49:46Speaker 3: going to do that.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Well, again, it just, it seems like they won't, you know,
- 49:50Speaker 1: I ain't gonna say it's, it's hard to, it's not
- 49:52Speaker 1: a hard sale to get our products in there because again,
- 49:55Speaker 1: when we're in their stores, we're, we're.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Making them money.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Number one consumers.
- 50:01Speaker 4: We're making them money.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Um, so obviously they know what we bring to their,
- 50:06Speaker 1: to their product, to their company, to their product.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Um, This is just not a good look.
- 50:11Speaker 1: And then I think this is what everybody has been
- 50:13Speaker 1: up in arms about is that this whole DEI thing.
- 50:17Speaker 4: You don't have enough DEI employees and obviously you.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Don't have a lot of black employees or representation in
- 50:24Speaker 1: these rooms that are making these executive decisions.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Or at least someone to raise their hand and go,
- 50:28Speaker 2: we shouldn't do that.
- 50:30Speaker 4: And then the thing too, I don't know.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Do you think if they had somebody black representation in
- 50:37Speaker 1: the room, do you think they would say something? I
- 50:40Speaker 1: don't know.
- 50:41Speaker 4: We don't know that. I mean, we're speculating.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Well, not all skin folk is kin folk. I get that.
- 50:48Speaker 2: If Jason Whitlock's in the room, it might not happen.
- 50:51Speaker 4: But that's my point.
- 50:52Speaker 2: What I'm saying, if we have the right people.
- 50:54Speaker 4: Well, that's what I'm saying. We don't know.
- 50:55Speaker 1: All they will see is somebody of color. They will
- 50:59Speaker 1: maybe just fill in quotas just to put somebody in
- 51:01Speaker 1: that category. in that space to represent people of color,
- 51:05Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean that they're going to go in
- 51:07Speaker 1: and if they're presenting this idea, this ad, this campaign,
- 51:10Speaker 1: that they're going to be opposed to it or have
- 51:13Speaker 1: some pushback.
- 51:14Speaker 3: You know why I know it's true, what you're saying,
- 51:16Speaker 3: is because even when the ad came out, there were
- 51:19Speaker 3: black people going.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Look at these libtards or whatever you want to say.
- 51:23Speaker 3: This is what the ad really looked like and they
- 51:25Speaker 3: showed the whole full picture with the Asian athlete, with
- 51:28Speaker 3: the converse, but it wasn't even the same.
- 51:30Speaker 2: It wasn't the same Asian woman and it wasn't the
- 51:32Speaker 2: same picture, the.
- 51:33Speaker 3: Skirt was shorter or longer, the converse were different, but
- 51:37Speaker 3: they wanted, you know, just like they do, they run
- 51:39Speaker 3: the Massa.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Massa wouldn't do no pictures like that. Here go the
- 51:42Speaker 2: real pictures. That ain't, that ain't.
- 51:44Speaker 1: So was this, I think, was this ad made over in,
- 51:48Speaker 1: was it here in the States, or was it in Asia,
- 51:50Speaker 1: or somebody from Asia?
- 51:51Speaker 2: No, it's an Asian athlete, but it's a converse ad.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Right, but it's almost like, I think Godfrey did, the comedian,
- 51:58Speaker 1: the black guy Godfrey, he did some, um, He posted
- 52:01Speaker 1: something about the word, I guess, over and so it
- 52:04Speaker 1: was the word nigga.
- 52:05Speaker 4: It means something different over there, but it's different. It
- 52:08Speaker 4: means something.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Totally different here. They spell it totally different too.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Right.
- 52:11Speaker 4: But it's the pronunciation of the word.
- 52:13Speaker 2: It's the same, yeah.
- 52:14Speaker 4: Right. So again, to your point, it's like, did it
- 52:18Speaker 4: really mean the same thing?
- 52:19Speaker 2: No, because it was made for here. It just happened
- 52:22Speaker 2: to be an Asian athlete.
- 52:23Speaker 4: I just wanted to. Put that out there.
- 52:26Speaker 2: They needed a nigga in the room to make sure
- 52:28Speaker 2: that didn't happen.
- 52:29Speaker 4: They needed a ninja.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Let's talk about your boy.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Listen, in this era, I compare this dude to you
- 52:35Speaker 3: a little bit, Anthony Edwards, in terms of his energy,
- 52:39Speaker 3: his humor.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Okay. This is some shit you would have probably have done.
- 52:45Speaker 4: So the antics.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Yeah, this last little thing they did where he did
- 52:50Speaker 3: a commercial, but they kind of set it up like
- 52:52Speaker 3: it was a roast.
- 52:53Speaker 2: It's not a commercial.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Whatever he did, they set up like a roast and
- 52:56Speaker 3: he kind of talked bad about other players, people on
- 53:00Speaker 3: his team.
- 53:01Speaker 4: So you're trying to say I talk bad about other players?
- 53:03Speaker 3: No, I'm saying you're funny and you're dark. So that's
- 53:06Speaker 3: why you reminded me of him. No, that's not what
- 53:08Speaker 3: I'm saying. I'm just saying he has a personality.
- 53:10Speaker 4: No, no, he's very charismatic.
- 53:14Speaker 1: And then obviously, again, with all these ads and things
- 53:17Speaker 1: that he's doing, Now people are starting to attack him like, oh,
- 53:20Speaker 1: you're doing all of this.
- 53:20Speaker 4: You need to bring some championships. Yes. You need to
- 53:23Speaker 4: bring some championships to the table.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Right, before you start.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Right, before you start attacking. But did you think it
- 53:30Speaker 4: was funny? Yeah.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I mean, it's branding. It's Adidas. It's what they're doing
- 53:36Speaker 1: to support their star athlete. Guess what he's doing? He's
- 53:39Speaker 1: bringing eyeballs to Anthony and he's bringing eyeballs to Adidas.
- 53:43Speaker 1: So guess what? Mission accomplished. You had some tidbits, some
- 53:47Speaker 1: pointers for him while he was doing that roast. What
- 53:51Speaker 1: would you tell him to do?
- 53:51Speaker 3: No, no, he just was kind of rocking. Just stand
- 53:55Speaker 3: your ground and tell your jokes.
- 53:57Speaker 4: Right. Because the material was funny. To your point, they
- 53:59Speaker 4: don't have somebody in....
- 54:01Speaker 1: On that ad campaign of color to really tell him.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Like, yeah. No, it's not even of color in this
- 54:06Speaker 2: particular situation. Well. They needed someone.
- 54:09Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right. With experience.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Yes.
- 54:11Speaker 4: The optics of what an actual comedian would be doing.
- 54:15Speaker 4: His mannerisms, demeanor. Yeah, because he was rocking.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Like he was. A little nervous.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Yeah, like the national anthem.
- 54:21Speaker 3: And a lot of times when you see people who
- 54:24Speaker 3: are non-comedians do stand-up, that's kind of how they find
- 54:27Speaker 3: to kind of get their place to make them feel comfortable.
- 54:30Speaker 2: So Adidas.
- 54:30Speaker 4: Yeah. My number is 818-535. Yeah.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I'll help you with the rest of your time.
- 54:34Speaker 4: They should have done some study on comedians and roles
- 54:37Speaker 4: or whatever.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Right, right, right.
- 54:37Speaker 4: They didn't do their homework. It was just, you know, again.
- 54:40Speaker 2: But the material was great.
- 54:41Speaker 4: You thought so?
- 54:42Speaker 2: I thought the material was funny.
- 54:43Speaker 4: You thought it was funny? Yes.
- 54:45Speaker 2: The lamella ball joke was funny.
- 54:47Speaker 4: Yeah, again, it wasn't just against all other players. It
- 54:50Speaker 4: was his own teammates. He roasted. Nobody is safe.
- 54:55Speaker 2: Yes. God, I don't want to talk about this, but
- 54:57Speaker 2: we got to say something. We got to say something. What?
- 55:00Speaker 2: All right. Tyler Perry on the Jennifer Hudson show. Did
- 55:04Speaker 2: you see the dance?
- 55:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Okay, that's all.
- 55:09Speaker 4: All right.
- 55:11Speaker 3: You know what was funny though? Besides the dance, I
- 55:14Speaker 3: know Tyler's like, why did I do that? All the
- 55:16Speaker 3: people who mimicked it and went viral from it.
- 55:19Speaker 4: What?
- 55:20Speaker 2: There was at least six or seven.
- 55:23Speaker 4: Spice Adams, I'm looking for a Drewski. Oh, you know
- 55:27Speaker 4: he's coming. Oh, he's doing something right now.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Yes, but I know Tyler was like, what made me
- 55:32Speaker 2: do this?
- 55:34Speaker 4: Do you know why he did that? Can you tell me?
- 55:36Speaker 2: I don't know. You grew up in the church. Who
- 55:38Speaker 2: does that in the church?
- 55:39Speaker 4: Wow. I don't know. But he was like, Tyler, we
- 55:45Speaker 4: invite you to come on the show and tell us,
- 55:47Speaker 4: what is this?
- 55:48Speaker 1: Did he forget that he was going on the show?
- 55:50Speaker 1: Did he think he was doing Madea? Do you think
- 55:53Speaker 1: he was kind of like conflicted? Like he kind of
- 55:56Speaker 1: maybe had an out-of-body experience?
- 55:57Speaker 2: Or maybe he was doing it as Madea. Yeah, I
- 56:01Speaker 2: was just saying. To let everybody know. In case you
- 56:04Speaker 2: didn't think that I was Madea, I'm Madea.
- 56:05Speaker 4: He does it so much. Right. Like he just heard
- 56:09Speaker 4: something that just triggered him.
- 56:10Speaker 2: It might just be stuck in him.
- 56:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Madea is just ever present.
- 56:14Speaker 2: Ever present.
- 56:15Speaker 4: At any given time. We got a new segment for
- 56:17Speaker 4: you this week, Chris.
- 56:18Speaker 2: Yes. It's called Crisscrossed.
- 56:20Speaker 4: What?
- 56:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 56:21Speaker 3: I'm going to talk about some motherfuckers that have crisscrossed me.
- 56:23Speaker 3: And it's usually something they said, something they did, or
- 56:27Speaker 3: something that I witnessed happen.
- 56:29Speaker 2: This week, who crisscrossed me, I've known this kid 25
- 56:31Speaker 2: years plus.
- 56:33Speaker 4: That could be anybody.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Aries Spears. He just.
- 56:39Speaker 4: Did something not too long ago.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Well, first, last week, he said that he didn't understand
- 56:48Speaker 3: all the hoopla about Bernie Mac.
- 56:51Speaker 4: Right, and Martin.
- 56:52Speaker 3: And then he said the Martin show, he felt— Wasn't funny.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Not necessarily not funny, but he thought it was too
- 56:58Speaker 3: over-the-top and buffoonish. And I don't know if you watched
- 57:00Speaker 3: some of the sketches he did on Mad TV. I
- 57:03Speaker 3: know it's a sketch show, but some of those things
- 57:05Speaker 3: are borderline buffoonish as well. Sometimes it's just comedy, you
- 57:09Speaker 3: know what I mean? What's funny about our people, we
- 57:11Speaker 3: call ourselves buffoons, but when like Jim Carrey or Jerry
- 57:14Speaker 3: Lewis do it, it's just straight comedy. So it's usually
- 57:17Speaker 3: us judging ourselves. But this week, Aries Spears had the
- 57:21Speaker 3: nerve to say that this movie that made over $ 1.
- 57:25Speaker 2: 3 billion was just okay. What movie was that?
- 57:34Speaker 4: Michael Jackson?
- 57:35Speaker 2: Nope. Black Panther.
- 57:39Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, you know, we were at, I'm paraphrasing,
- 57:43Speaker 3: we were at a certain time and Black Lives Matter
- 57:46Speaker 3: and all that stuff was going on.
- 57:48Speaker 2: But now that we look back, was the movie that good?
- 57:51Speaker 1: Right?
- 57:51Speaker 3: And then he also said number two sucked, which also
- 57:54Speaker 3: did $ 840 million.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Does he have something against black people?
- 57:57Speaker 3: So what pissed me off is he said it on
- 57:59Speaker 3: his podcast, Spears and Steinberg, and he said it in
- 58:04Speaker 3: front of them.
- 58:05Speaker 2: It wasn't in the barbershop. It wasn't in the beauty shop.
- 58:09Speaker 2: He said it in front of them.
- 58:11Speaker 4: I know what he's doing, though. He don't really mean
- 58:14Speaker 4: what he's saying.
- 58:14Speaker 2: So what's he doing? Is this for algorithms?
- 58:17Speaker 4: Clickbait. That's all it's got. Bro, that's all it is.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Because guess what? Guess what he got us doing? Talking
- 58:23Speaker 4: about it two damn weeks in a row. Right.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Right.
- 58:28Speaker 2: You got us, Aries, and you too, Mr. Steinberg.
- 58:31Speaker 1: That's what he, bro, that's, he's the only one that's
- 58:34Speaker 1: thinking like this, bro. Nobody has ever said that.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Never.
- 58:38Speaker 4: Why would he say that, number one? Aries, come on, bro. Why,
- 58:43Speaker 4: don't tear us down.
- 58:45Speaker 2: In front of them, especially.
- 58:48Speaker 4: To get ahead, bro, that's not the formula. Don't do that, bro.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Do we want him on the show?
- 58:53Speaker 4: I mean, he come on the show. He might say,
- 58:58Speaker 4: get to the point ain't shit. He's going to say,
- 59:04Speaker 4: get to the point ain't shit. After you come on,
- 59:06Speaker 4: then you can go say, get to the point. Tio
- 59:09Speaker 4: and Chris ain't shit. Come on. It's disappointing.
- 59:13Speaker 2: It's disappointing.
- 59:14Speaker 4: I've known this guy a long time.
- 59:16Speaker 2: I've known him a long time.
- 59:17Speaker 3: And just to see this new route he's taken with controversy,
- 59:22Speaker 3: I'm not sure. I mean, usually his material is controversial.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Sure.
- 59:26Speaker 3: He talks about a lot of things in his act,
- 59:29Speaker 3: but to talk about us and people within the industry and,
- 59:33Speaker 3: you know, Martin is an icon for us.
- 59:37Speaker 2: Bro.
- 59:37Speaker 3: He's on many people's Mount Rushmore of comedy. You don't
- 59:40Speaker 3: shit on Martin in front of them.
- 59:42Speaker 4: Bro, Black Panther, I mean, Black Panther, that's an iconic
- 59:46Speaker 4: movie in itself.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Highest grossing black movie. Chad, what's that? Chad Boseman.
- 59:51Speaker 4: Chad Bozeman who played Black Panther. Michael B.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Jordan.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Michael B. Jordan. Bro, these are people that are elevating
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: the black community.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: And then you want to disgrace them, demean them, tear
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: them down to, I guess, elevate yourself. We've always said
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: this in our community. We're always tearing our own down,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: which is why we can't get ahead.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: Right. And this is very indicative of it. Him, Aries...
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: with this, and then you.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Got Shaq, you know, doing what he's doing. These are
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: two prominent figures within the black community.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: I would call Aries prominent figure.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: We're talking about him? Yeah. He's in the comedic.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: I'm saying he's not a prominent figure in the community
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: per se.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Well, in the comedian space.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: Right. Maybe not in the community, but yeah, but in
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: that space where he represents comedy.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Is what I was alluding to. Yeah. But yeah, man,
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: we have to do better. We have to do better.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: So yeah, Aries, come on on the show, man, because
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: I want you to get to the point of your
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: madness because this.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Is two weeks in a row. What's next? What's next?
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: So what a show.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Man, what?
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: I hope some of those people that we called out
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: on will come on here and talk.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: No, we give them an open.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Because these are actually people we know. We have their
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: phone numbers.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: And in the words of Ricky Ricardo, they got some
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: splanning to do.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Thank you for watching our show, you guys. Please like, share,
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: and subscribe. GTTP pod.

- 1:01:30Speaker 4: we love y'all.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: It's that simple.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: We love y'all.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Just don't sell us out.
