- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, well here at one of the gout Blex Sports.
- 0:02Speaker 1: I haven't even gotten a chance to react with you
- 0:05Speaker 1: about what happened Tuesday night, but I want to real
- 0:08Speaker 1: fast before Game two tonight. So I'm at Yankee Stadium
- 0:13Speaker 1: watching the Yanks and hoping they get their thirtieth win.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I mentioned that on Tuesday night I would go to
- 0:19Speaker 1: the stadium to begin my new chapter of this life,
- 0:22Speaker 1: and it felt good. I reconnected with Bernardo, my buddy
- 0:26Speaker 1: Bernardo from the Radio World. Now he's a Bronx at TV.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So Sam Teveres from Viscardi hung out with all thirty Egos.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You can follow him on Instagram as well, and just
- 0:40Speaker 1: felt so in the moment at Yankee Stadium until I
- 0:48Speaker 1: get the alert with the Yanks up about five to
- 0:52Speaker 1: four or something like that. I mean, it was a
- 0:54Speaker 1: close game Tuesday night. I get the alert from the
- 0:58Speaker 1: real app. All right, check out the poll for the
- 1:00Speaker 1: Knicks Calves. So they do in game polls where people
- 1:04Speaker 1: are voting one way or the other one the Knicks
- 1:07Speaker 1: come back, will they not. I look at the score
- 1:10Speaker 1: at the end of the third quarter, eighty three sixty
- 1:14Speaker 1: nine Calves eighty three sixty nine Calves. At one point,
- 1:23Speaker 1: the Knicks were down twenty two points until Jalen Brunson
- 1:28Speaker 1: once again carried that team on his back. And look,
- 1:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna say something a little controversial right now, but
- 1:40Speaker 1: I feel I have to say it. I love Aaron Judge.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I really do. I think this team could do something
- 1:52Speaker 1: special once they get all the pieces back. I really do.
- 1:57Speaker 1: They just have a different energy than they did last year.
- 2:01Speaker 1: But when it comes to the postseason, you cannot deny
- 2:07Speaker 1: that Jalen Brunson is the captain of this city. You
- 2:12Speaker 1: cannot deny that thirty eight points for Brunson, thirty eight
- 2:19Speaker 1: points and a stretch of about in that eighteen one
- 2:24Speaker 1: running he made like twelve or fifteen of those points,
- 2:27Speaker 1: blazing hot fifteen points of the eighteen to one run,
- 2:36Speaker 1: fifteen and two assists, and he played nine minutes of
- 2:43Speaker 1: that fourth quarter. But that is Jalen Brunson. He is
- 2:50Speaker 1: captain clutch. He did it in the Hawk series, he
- 2:56Speaker 1: did it in the sixer series. He does it again,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and I am so curious to see how tonight goes.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And I gotta say, Mike Brown saving his ass too.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Mike Brown is saving his ass by playing the bench Shammitt.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I mean, let's go to Shaman's numbers real fast, thanks
- 3:16Speaker 1: to again the real App, and I believe I could
- 3:19Speaker 1: be a real App affiliate, but I'll share it with you.
- 3:23Speaker 1: But let's go to Shammitt who went nine points and
- 3:29Speaker 1: Ot had a couple. He had three in that run.
- 3:32Speaker 1: He had six points in the fourth. A key bench player.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And that's the point I said to begin the postseason,
- 3:43Speaker 1: and I'll say it now. Mike Brown's use of this
- 3:47Speaker 1: bench will not only save his job, but it could
- 3:52Speaker 1: propel the nixt of Greater Heights. Why were we injured
- 3:55Speaker 1: the last two or three years when it came to
- 3:57Speaker 1: this very series, the Conference finals. Yeah, the Haliburton shot
- 4:02Speaker 1: was traumatic and traumatizing and never wants that to happen again.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But why were we burned out? Because Thibs would play
- 4:11Speaker 1: these guys and play these guys and play these guys,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and the bench wouldn't really be used that much. But
- 4:18Speaker 1: on Christmas Day, Tyler Kullak's the star Tyler Kolek, And
- 4:24Speaker 1: that was the day I realized Mike Brown uses his
- 4:29Speaker 1: bench in a good way, all right up and down January.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But then they start heating up again, and then they
- 4:36Speaker 1: make that trade for Alvarado, which I think is one
- 4:38Speaker 1: of the biggest moments the Knicks have had this year.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And look, when I talk to friends about this, I
- 4:44Speaker 1: don't feel like I'm an expert at it, but I
- 4:46Speaker 1: follow it. I don't feel like I know basketball as
- 4:50Speaker 1: much as I know baseball and know the inside baseball.
- 4:56Speaker 1: But I think from a perspective of a sports fan
- 4:59Speaker 1: and someone who reads the headlines and sees what's going on,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I get so common that I notice. I notice when
- 5:11Speaker 1: these guys come off the bench and produce. I noticed
- 5:14Speaker 1: when mccallbridge is, who was absent most of that Hawks
- 5:17Speaker 1: series until someone puts something in his gatorade. I don't
- 5:20Speaker 1: know what. He goes on fire against the Hawks, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: he goes on fire against the Sixers, and then on
- 5:25Speaker 1: Tuesday Night he had an incredible steal to seal Game
- 5:28Speaker 1: one in overtime. That's the McCall bridges. The Knicks thought
- 5:32Speaker 1: they were getting right. But from my perspective, and honestly
- 5:45Speaker 1: because of football, because of baseball postseason heading in November now,
- 5:53Speaker 1: I typically follow the Knicks and Rangers in January onward.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I think that's when it gets good, or at least
- 5:59Speaker 1: by Christmas for the Knicks. I think that's when it
- 6:02Speaker 1: gets really good, when the crunch time happens. And then
- 6:07Speaker 1: I just continue to follow and look, did I want
- 6:11Speaker 1: them to win the last game of the year. Absolutely,
- 6:13Speaker 1: I did you want to go into the postseason with
- 6:15Speaker 1: some momentum like that. Then they win Game one, then
- 6:22Speaker 1: they get that horrible I mean absolutely horrible loss against
- 6:29Speaker 1: the Hawks, and then going down to one. I think
- 6:33Speaker 1: that did fire them up to just straighten out and
- 6:36Speaker 1: get it done. I thought Mike Brown was gonna be
- 6:40Speaker 1: a one year coach for a little bit because Dolan
- 6:46Speaker 1: says championship or bust. Right. But then, but then the
- 6:52Speaker 1: Knicks not breeze. But they they have an easier time
- 6:57Speaker 1: to get to the conference semifinals, and they sweep, They
- 7:02Speaker 1: sweep the Sixers, and now this now they have a
- 7:07Speaker 1: chance to totally take over the series. They have a
- 7:12Speaker 1: chance to carry that momentum from a twenty two point
- 7:18Speaker 1: deficit to an eighteen to one run to an overtime
- 7:21Speaker 1: victory in Game one of the Conference finals. And again
- 7:24Speaker 1: I've called this a combatant Conference Finals because I feel it.
- 7:28Speaker 1: But they have a chance down to come into the
- 7:29Speaker 1: garden tonight and build off of what happened on Tuesday night,
- 7:37Speaker 1: not regress from it, but build on it. And I
- 7:43Speaker 1: think they can, and I think they can. But the
- 7:51Speaker 1: masterminding that's ending up happening here of rotating these guys
- 8:01Speaker 1: playing Cat playing Hart playing Brunson, and then you throw
- 8:06Speaker 1: in the Mitchell Robinson's. You can throw in thee the
- 8:09Speaker 1: McCall bridges, you throw in the Alvarados, you throw in
- 8:12Speaker 1: the Shamans. Brunson's got a supporting cast that will feed
- 8:18Speaker 1: off that energy, that captain clutch energy and take it
- 8:22Speaker 1: to the finish line every night. And so here are
- 8:25Speaker 1: one ling up Alex Sports. As I mentioned in a
- 8:28Speaker 1: while ago on my on my main channel, one lying
- 8:30Speaker 1: up Alex Media. If you have a chance to go
- 8:33Speaker 1: up two ozho here, and then if you have a
- 8:35Speaker 1: chance to go up three to oh. I don't think
- 8:38Speaker 1: any nick fan should be hoping for a loss just
- 8:41Speaker 1: because of the glitz and glamour and glory of clinching
- 8:44Speaker 1: Game five in New York. No, if you have a
- 8:46Speaker 1: chance to clinching in Cleveland, get it done in Cleveland.
- 8:49Speaker 1: We shouldn't waste time. If you have a chance to
- 8:52Speaker 1: clinch in Cleveland. Clinch in Cleveland. Let the seven game
- 8:57Speaker 1: series or the six game series or whatever it's gonna
- 9:00Speaker 1: happened between the Thunder and the Spurds. Let them go seven.
- 9:05Speaker 1: But if you can lock up this series and carry
- 9:11Speaker 1: that momentum into Cleveland, you take care of business in Cleveland.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Because yeah, it'd be cool, all right, they clinch the
- 9:21Speaker 1: conference finals, they go to the NBA Finals, they clinch
- 9:23Speaker 1: to New York. Yeah, that would be cool. But in
- 9:27Speaker 1: my view, that would have meant you lost Game four
- 9:28Speaker 1: because I think they could have win games two and three.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And if you go up three to Oho, Ryan, if
- 9:34Speaker 1: you go up three to oh in Cleveland, you should
- 9:39Speaker 1: clock it out and knock it down right there in
- 9:42Speaker 1: game four. Don't let it come back to New York
- 9:45Speaker 1: because the momentum, it doesn't shift, but it dies down
- 9:49Speaker 1: a little bit. I can see them winning games two
- 9:52Speaker 1: and three. I really can setting up for an epic
- 9:56Speaker 1: possibility of another sweep back to back series. Maybe I'm
- 10:01Speaker 1: wrong tonight, I don't know, but the momentum. I saw,
- 10:04Speaker 1: the momentum we all saw on Tuesday night, And yes
- 10:09Speaker 1: I know, I was at Yankee Stadium during a pivotal
- 10:12Speaker 1: first game of the conference finals. I get that, but
- 10:15Speaker 1: I wasn't not following because damn right, I want to
- 10:18Speaker 1: know what's going on. But I wasn't really. I was shocked,
- 10:26Speaker 1: but I thought, Okay, fourth quarter, let's see what happens,
- 10:30Speaker 1: and they came back for one of the biggest wins
- 10:34Speaker 1: in the next franchise history. Even I would say up
- 10:39Speaker 1: there with Willis Reed's Game seven. But the Knicks could
- 10:44Speaker 1: win two and three, and if that's gonna happen, close
- 10:51Speaker 1: it out in game four. And imagine, imagine what would
- 10:56Speaker 1: happen if they did unleash Tyler Kohlik on the same
- 10:59Speaker 1: calves and he dominated on Christmas Day. He was the
- 11:03Speaker 1: back page on Zebra twenty sixth. He was the back
- 11:08Speaker 1: page and the star, and for good reason. Now imagine
- 11:14Speaker 1: you unleash him again in this series, or you wait
- 11:18Speaker 1: to unleash him if they do advance, which they should.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I don't want to speak too soon, but I got
- 11:23Speaker 1: a good vibe. If they unleash him before the finals,
- 11:29Speaker 1: boy he could work on those calves again. But if
- 11:33Speaker 1: he gets in more rest and then gets unleashed in
- 11:36Speaker 1: the finals, who we could be looking at something pretty
- 11:41Speaker 1: dangerous and something pretty hopeful for the next but clock
- 11:48Speaker 1: it out early. If you go up two games, try
- 11:53Speaker 1: and go up three games. If you go up three games,
- 11:55Speaker 1: seal the deal in Cleveland, and most importantly, carry the
- 12:01Speaker 1: momentum from Tuesday and make this a very confident Conference
- 12:06Speaker 1: finals for Nick fans. And that's my message at one
- 12:11Speaker 1: look of Alex media
