- Lucas: Luna, welcome back to Learn Swahili with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and this is episode 115. Luna: Hi Lucas! I'm excited. Last time we tackled airport basics, and I've been practicing. Lucas: That's great. Today we're diving deeper into the airport — specifically checking in for your flight. Luna: Oh, perfect. I'm planning a trip, so this is exactly what I need. Lucas: Let's start with the first phrase: 'Nina tiketi.' That means 'I have a ticket.' Say it with me: Nina tiketi. Luna: Nina tiketi. Lucas: Good! Now when you're at the airport, you might need to ask: 'Lango liko wapi?' meaning 'Where is the gate?' Repeat after me: Lango liko wapi? Luna: Lango liko wapi? Lucas: Perfect. Another common problem: losing luggage. You'd say: 'Mizigo yangu imepotea.' That's 'My luggage is lost.' Try it. Luna: Mizigo yangu imepotea. That's a bit of a mouthful, but I'll get it. Lucas: You did well. One more: 'Ndege imechelewa.' The flight is delayed. Say it. Luna: Ndege imechelewa. Lucas: Excellent. Now let's put them in a little scene. You're at the check-in counter. You say: 'Nina tiketi.' The agent points to the gate. You ask: 'Lango liko wapi?' Luna: Nina tiketi. Lango liko wapi? Lucas: Great. Then you hear your flight is delayed. You turn to a friend and say: 'Ndege imechelewa.' Luna: Ndege imechelewa. Oh no! I hope my luggage is okay. Mizigo yangu imepotea — I'll practice that one.
