- Liam: Jamie hates all of his own teams. Jamie: I'm starting Jacob Brissett this week in my fantasy. Over Patrick Mahomes. Liam: The Chargers are the league's only winless team. Jamie: Only. Liam: The only winless team. He's what Cam Newton wanted to be. Jamie: Whoa. Whoa whoa. Liam: However, yeah. it's gonna be a punchy one today. You can tell how we've started. Jamie: three different fantasy leagues and I was favourites win every single game and I lost every single game Liam: We look better on YouTube. And we look even better in real life. What's up? Fourth and tea pod. It is the week eight preview show. And we're we're from all over the shop again. Jamie, how you doing? Jamie: Good. yeah, fant fantastic. Week eight of the NFL season already is is absolutely nuts. But not halfway yeah, not halfway through yet. It duh it Liam: Not halfway through yet. But it eight feels like halfway. I don't know why. Jamie: it used to. When we had sixteen game seasons, it used to feel halfway through, but now we've got like an extra three weeks with those bye weeks, everything else included. So an extra games. Liam: Mate, I cannot wait until they extend it as well. Jamie: They're gonna extend it and everyone's gonna play internationally. Liam: Well, mate. A ro A Rod if A Rod Chains gets his way, that's it. In week one. Jamie: In week one and week one only. Liam: But yeah, like I said though, last week was my favourite game week of the year so far. Like upsets, Survivor, madness, Tampa Bay smashing the little kittens. Like what a week. Jamie: I think it was my worst ever week since watching the NFL. obviously my team lost. They well didn't just lose, they got humiliated. check out the review show for that. Liam: Have you seen the meme? Jamie: Which one? I've been sent many. Liam: Have you seen the meme of a book a books player picking up a tiny little baby dressed in a Panther's Jamie: Yeah, but Liam: outfit, clearing off a little plastic table? class. Yeah, definitely sent it to you. That's how I know you've seen it. You couldn't say no, 'cause I'd have called you out. At least Jamie: Did you not send that to me as well? I was saying many of me and I also I'm in three different fantasy leagues and I was favourites win every single game and I lost every single game and i in two of my leagues every single one of my running backs got injured during the game and come out of it. So Liam: Mm. Jamie: when you say the bad week of the NF, you had a great week. I had statistically probably the worst week I've ever had. in the NFL. I went Norton four, including my team and my three fantasies. So Liam: Well, I think it's one of them ones we've got to we've also got to have a word with our social media editor, aka you. Do you know why? Jamie: Well, we look really good, no? Liam: We do look good. We do look good. We look better non- We look better Jamie: Yeah. Liam: non-AI. We look better on YouTube. And we look even better in real life. Anyway, the word I need to have with you, Jamie, is there's a lot of depressed Panthers content on our channel. We need to have Jamie: Only two. Liam: more happy pirates, less depressed Panthers, more happy books. And mate, Jamie: We yeah, yeah, yeah. Liam: we need some more dark side, mate. We sh we could get some of that, you know. Disney trademark. Look, I am your father. We could get a bit more of that going, you know, for the dark side up in Seattle. Jamie: Wow, that's making the cut. that's that's Liam: Hopefully that's making the cut. Mate, I've got to I I've got to be I've got to I've got to throw my fandom around a little bit more, I think. Jamie: You do you do. You've only got about five, ten teams, so you might as well start Liam: Look, I'm just I'm quadrupling down on my beloved books and my sensational seahawks. But Jamie: No, I love it. Yeah, good. I'm really happy for you. Liam: Anyway, it's gonna be a punchy one today. You can tell how we've started. So, as I always say, we're a new podcast until we're not. What we're gonna do today, two-minute run-through of each game in week eight. We're then gonna jump into our wild takes of the week. What mad thing's gonna happen in week eight. We're then gonna jump into fantasy players to avoid. Please avoid. We're then going to go into our fork section. Each week, we fork a team ahead of the game week to say they are not going to make the playoffs. We're really getting into the meat of it now. And we're going to end with our Survivor picks. I am 4-0 up on Jamie in one season, which is absolutely shocking. And we're starting the fifth Survivor season of the pod for the first year. Jamie's got to pick it up. So yeah, we're also gonna make predictions for each game. So Jamie, are you ready? Jamie: Ready. Liam: Ready. So game week eight. Game one. And it's Thursday night football with Jamie. It's the Carolina Panthers at the Green Bay Packers. The Packers favoured by three point five points. Jamie: Yeah, I'm not surprised by Packers being favourites. yeah, it's a tough old game this one. Off the off the back of what the whooping that we just received at home against the Bucks, going to Lambeau Field on prime time. I'm obviously I'm gonna start with the bat, I'm backing the Packers to win this game against my Carolina Panthers. But Liam: Jamie hates all of his own teams. Them and the Jets. Jamie: yeah, yeah, big up the Jets. the yeah, the Pan so The Panthers are just injuries on O-line. Taylor Mates had come back for literally two games. He's got he's done his fibularies out for the rest of the season after recovering from blood clots in his lungs. so not great. but it is what it is. Jaden Phillips is out. Evans, who got cooked or baked by Mr. Mayfield last time out, is is is hopefully out. but yeah, he didn't he didn't participate in practice Wednesday as well. So yeah, the only thing I can say, the only bright spark for my fellow Panthers, shout out to the YouTube couple of YouTube comments about how the how I'm not the only depressed Panther out there at this moment in time, so shout out. but we went into Lambo Field last season as dogs and won it with a last second field goal. So you never know. We could do it. And and the Packers last season were number one. team in the NFC when we went there. So and that was November time as well. We're coming to November time. You never know. But go Liam: I've got question for you on this one, Jamie. Jamie: on. Liam: If you didn't support the Panthers, would you be excited for this Thursday night football? Jamie: Yes. I think you've got a young yes, you've got two youngish quarterbacks. Well that they are well one is young, funny enough. you got two young quarterbacks and head to head, two very young offences going head to head. It's an interesting one. Both both I what I quite like about this is that you've got two teams who are it could be a season sway, it could be a momentum that you need to go into week nine onwards. So from that point of view, it's interesting. It cos of the sa daylight saving times makes more interesting for me, means I gain an hour of sleep 'cause it kicks off a quarter past midnight rather than usual quarter past one AM UK time. So makes it more interesting for me and my sleep. But this could be it could be a good game. Who who've you who are you backing? You join are you locking in with the Packers? Liam: This week, Jamie. I I do know what I am backing the Packers. Lock it in. But I'm not take I'm I'm taking the Panthers on the spread. I think it's gonna be a tight game. I think 3.5 Jamie: Yeah, for sure. Liam: points is close, but I think the Panthers are gonna stay in this fight. I think they've got to make a bounce back. They can't they can't go back to back bad performances after what happened last week. Otherwise otherwise they're not up to scratch this year. You you can have a blip, but you can't do that twice on the bounce. And an aw away in Green Bay, they're not juggernauts. So you've got to you've got to show up and make it a close game, at least. yeah. Green Bay on a on a Green Bay on a short week. They've actually lost two of the last three games. They actually haven't been that convincing all year. They've slowly got better, but no, they've not been convincing. Bryce Young, go do something. especially, you know, you're getting a Michael Parsons free. Green Bay. Josh Jacobs obviously returned last week, got his iron a little bit. I don't think that the Green Bay running game looks stellar. So that is a Buccaneers big advantage. That was that might be their strength in their offense at the minute, and that's where you're weak. So there you go. So yeah, we're both locking the Green Bay Packers onto the next one. And it is the it's a big one. Jamie, it's the Baltimore Ravens reeling after last week's loss up in Buffalo, the Bills favoured by three point five points. So all things going well, this is gonna be the return of Lamar Jackson. And I think if we to a quick narrative of the season, Ravens look good off the bat. Couple of funky results that are weird. But basically they go as Lamar goes and they haven't had Lamar and they haven't had success. Lamar should be back. And the Br the Ravens have been good without him. They just don't have a superstar quarterback, like a lot of teams. Buffalo, though, coming off the bye. I'm not sure what to think of this Buffalo team. Josh Allen is Superman. He's what Cam Newton wanted to be. However, yeah. Jamie: Whoa. Whoa whoa. Liam: But I mean, Cam went to a Super Bowl, but that's a different story. Jamie's not happy with that either. But they're still not helping. They're still not helping Josh Allen out. I think if DJ Moore comes back, can have consistent weeks with him, I really do think that that might be what the Bills need. So I don't know. I think there's gonna be a tight one. I the Bills are scraping by based on Josh Allen's raw ability for highlight plays. But the if Lamar is back and fit, he almost went start back last week, so I'm assuming that he's almost there and gonna be close to being fit. It's gonna open up Derrick Henry again. And I don't know, for me, Jamie, I'm locking up the Ravens. Team of the pot. Jamie: Team of the pod. I haven't backed you in three of the games so far this season out of seven. I might as well make it fifty fifty and not back again and go for the Buffalo Bills. At home, at the high mark. Well not that yeah. Yeah, that's new stadium name. I was gonna say that Liam: It's High Mark again. Jamie: high mark again. Keep it same, fine. Yeah, Orchard Park, lovely. The yeah, I just can't I think the Ravens just don't just don't have it in them to stop Josh Allen. I think if you they proved it they don't have it in them against Joe Burrow. Liam: I don't think anybody's got it in them to stop Lamar, though. That's my point. This is my point. I don't think anybody's got it. Jamie: I like it. I like that. And the Bills defence, yeah. Liam: I don't think either team's gonna stop either of these quarterbacks playing bet playing well. But Lamar Jamie: Who who Liam: has more around him. Derek can get go in in a way that James Cook's very high level consistent, but Derrick Henry can break a game. Zay Jamie: I like that. Liam: Flowers is on fire this year. He's running he's doing all these long touchdowns. He's not got loads of touchdowns, but he never is a red zone threat. But he can break a game. They've got the rookie lame catching he's this the hands man. He's catching all these passes. what's Josh Allen got? Jamie: Him. But could yeah. Liam: Cook but that's the thing though, Josh Allen Josh Allen is like if you're gonna say who's gonna be MVP, Josh Allen. Closer to out of those two. But Jamie: Yeah. If if you could start just the one player in one game, one off game for you for Liam: Josh Allen. Jamie: your tea you go Josh Allen. This is it is a tough one. Yeah, Liam: He could be my wide receiver, my running back or my quarterback. Jamie: literally. Yeah. Yeah. Liam: But yeah. Jamie: no, I'm I'm I'm gonna get Liam: He came with Jamie: I'm going Bills. Yeah. Liam: Lock off bang. On to the next one. And it's the Minnesota Vikings, the undefeated Flores Blitz Boys against the Detroit Lions in Detroit. Lions favored by 3.5 points. So this one, I think this might be the most fascinating line of the week. I do think we might be clashing again on this one. Maybe, maybe, maybe. But Minnesota, last undefeated team in the league. They are the blitz boys for a reason. They got after Daniel Jones last week with an eighty five percent blitz rate when he was dropping back. I think The Vikings win this one comfortably. Jamie: Comfortably. Liam: I think they not only beat the spread yet, I think they're gonna beat the I don't think they're gonna comfortably beat the Lions because they've got a defense that gets after a non-mobile golf. They've got a secondary that can lock people up. And the Vikings problem has been their offense. I don't think anybody here thinks. Anybody here there's more than just me and you. I don't think anybody here thinks or believes in a Lions defense to win a game. Jamie: No. But Liam: But Jamie: I believe in J Mo. I believe in St. Brown. I believe him Gibbo. Right. So we're not we're not locked. Gibbo Liam: So J Mo was that Gibbs? Gibbo. Jamie: and J Mo. I'm back in. We're not locked. You called it correct. I'm going for Detroit Lions at home. Big game. They've got to make a statement. Yes, their defence is absolutely dreadful, especially a secondary. But Kyler Murray can't throw it that far to damage a secondary. He's got to go short for JJ and then JJ's got to make some moves, isn't he? So I yeah, it I d yeah. I'm I'm I'm Liam: You know what? Lock it, mate. Just lock against me. All good. Jamie: against ya. I'm going for the Lions. I do expect, as you said, I I c I could see ninety percent blitzes in this game. Liam: I'm going to be locking and sticking with these Vikings until they lose. I love the way they Jamie: I like it. Liam: play. Jamie: I I love their defence. Everything about their defence. Liam: R Don't think too hard about this question. And it's not controversial, whatever your answer's gonna be. Who won the JJ McCarthy trade? Jamie: Giants. Liam: I think the Giants did as well. It's wild Jamie: I think he really does. Liam: looking looking now. obviously they got rid of Sam Darnold, they rid of Kirk Cousins, and now it's gonna look like they might have got rid of JJ, who might be something crazy, crazy scenes. Jamie: the the the throws he made to neighbours, you can just picture him making those throws to to J J. So it's like why would you not give him the opportunity over Kyler Murray who hasn't been playing that well and the offense clearly struggling, but a winning game still. Liam: Makes you what's makes you wonder what's going on, doesn't it? Jamie: Yeah. Liam: something's going on, I tell you what The Vikings head coach, the thought to be quarterback whisperer, losing a bit of that aura. Not saying he's on the hot seat or anything like that, but that was his thing, the quarterback guy. So, anyway, Jamie: Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Liam: swiftly moving on. the Cleveland Browns against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh. It's a top Of a division playoff. Well it's not the playoffs, but it's a playoff. Steelers favoured by three point five points. Jamie, what are you saying? Jamie: I mean, wow. Both teams going into this game five and two. The Browns and the Steelers for an A for Liam: Crazy. Jamie: an AFC North battle. Unbelievable. What a division, by the way, this season. The AFC North is is gonna powerhouse of of those four teams. And that includes the Browns leading the way. Whoever Liam: Crazy. Jamie: wins this gets sole possession of top dog in the AFC North. I'm I'm I'm back in the Cleveland Browns again. They're just finding The Liam: Whoa whoa. Jamie, you at this point you're a Cleveland Browns fan more than anything else. Jamie: What a quarterback. I mean the I will say there was a questionable statement from their head coach afterwards about having a party around their quarterback's house after the game. Maybe not. What probably it could be one to avoid, but he he might be throwing another one. Liam: I'd be avoiding the party around here who must not be names House. Thank you very much. You'd be like, let's go after all of these muggles. You're like, no, this is not my kind of party. Jamie: Nah. Nah, not that not not for me, mate. But the yeah, it's it is gonna be a good game. Good, it's gonna be great defense on defense. I love a bit of that. And weirdly enough, that just the the Steelers are finding ways to win. It's it is turgid. They're they're relying on lots of field goals, but then so are the Browns. They're winning games based off of last kick field goals, right? Last second field goals. And The Steelers injuries are getting into me. You've got I've seen that Pittman's out. Roman Wilson's on IR. Rico Dowdle's got a knee injury. He's been but then I guess Jaden Warrell's been getting most of the Liam: Mate. Warren's been soaked. I you know what? I'm gonna jump in because I'm gonna defend them a little bit. Jamie: Go on. I know who you're gonna get. Go on. Liam: No, don't know, but Warren, Warren is running like maybe one of the top five top running backs in the league. Like if if you took what he's doing and put those stats and like runs onto the some of these bigger names, you're not even blinking. You're going, that is first round pick in fantasy. He Jamie: Yeah. Liam: was probably a first round pick. Warren is cleaning up, it's allowing Aaron Rodgers. To pick his targets. He is finding. We weren't talking about Jeremy Bernard. Right? We weren't talking about him. Now we are. We wasn't seriously talking about Washington, apart from the fact he's this absolute 300 pound tank. But he's catching touchdown passes. Like Aaron Rodgers actually can pick out who he wants. So for me, I'm not worried about the injuries. I think Aaron Rodgers is actually a really good quarterback for using the depth that you've got. Jamie: So who are you going who are you going for? Liam: I'm locking the Steelers. interestingly though, moneyline's coming down. Steelers started as much stronger favorites, but the money's coming in on Cleveland. So people are agreeing with you, Jamie. A lot of people. Guess we'll see how we go. Gosh, Jamie: No makes a change. Liam: this is a bit of a face off week, isn't it? Whoa. You know what's Jamie: I like it. Yeah, yeah. Liam: interesting as well? Because we're almost like both at a 50 50 record. We're gonna be like, this is gonna be pushing some stuff out. Jamie, it's another one with you. It is the Arizona Cardinals, who are two and five at the Dallas Cowboys after their big win against Philly, who are three and four. Cowboys favored by six point five points. Jamie: You know what it yeah, I was gonna say it's it's a that's a big gap, but it's not really because the Cardinals just they're either in games and they grind out wins or they're in it for two quarters and then they absolutely capitulate against teams like the Broncos, the St the Seahawks. and for some reason I'm gonna have to back Dallas again. Obviously they got their Monday night football win that we both predicted, they had to win against the absolutely battered Eagles team with nothing basically, apart from Jaden Carter. So I I do expect and the Cardinals don't haven't I know they trade Loyells and Marvin Harrison, but players haven't stepped up like I thought they would have stepped up, apart from McBride as their only target like man that you guaranteed he's gonna catch this every single time put it on him. Unbelievable asset to have. obviously loves out. Boys I boys do back in practice, Liam: think you practised Wednesday Jamie: But you got Bam Knight, you've got Algier, obviously not that good. But and the Cowboys defense. personally I've got Liam: That's the thing. That's what's making me worried about this game. The Cowboys defense, Jamie. Jamie: Yeah. Liam: Do you trust them to do anything? Mate Jamie: No, so I've put Liam: McMate, the f the Philadelphia Eagles, who really are a bit of a broken team right now, they put up enough points on Dallas to keep it close enough for way longer than it should have been. Jamie: Just just to put it in context, I'm start I've got Jacob Brissett and I've got Patrick Mahomes. I'm starting Jacob Brissett this week in my fantasy. Over Patrick Mahomes. Liam: Yeah, points are gonna happening. Yeah. Jamie: Because that he's he's gonna get at least tw he has to get at least twenty plus on this Dallas Cowboys. This Dallas I'm actually really I'm in an R in about this game. I actually don't know. I'm gonna go Dallas have one two on the trot. I can trust Dallas offense more than I can trust Jacob Jacoby Brissett. So I'm going Dallas Cowboys. Liam: Jamie, I'm glad you said that. I'm we're locked. I'm with you. But I'm a bit squeaky about what this Cardinals team can do to this defense. I'm a bit worried. Jamie: Yeah. Yeah. Liam: my only thing if Marvin Harrison Jr. and they're performing with the offense that they had at the beginning of the year, but they really since they got rid of Marv, the passing game really hasn't been the same. Whatever you want to say about Marv, his presence was doing something. But not gonna cry about it too much. Got one quick question for you, Jamie. Ready? Jamie: Ready. Liam: When do the Cardinals Do you think they will go to Carson Beck at any point this year? Jamie: Ooh. Ooh. I Liam: Ooh yeah, you like that one. Jamie: mean the guaranteed bottom of their division already. So why not now? Obviously it's not gonna happen now. But I I would. Liam: Mate, they lose again. I reckon they we might start to see some cast them back, so Jamie: 'Cause I I don't Brissett's getting sacked much at all. he's having he's got time in the pocket. He's got he's got a decent amount of protection compared to most of those teams in division. Why not? Liam: Mate. He is the passing game's not doing what they hope for, so Jamie: Yeah, why not? Liam: why not? on to the next game. It is the Atlanta Falcons at The rumbling, tumbling Tampa Bay Buccaneers. love it. Weird line. Buccaneers are favoured by 1.5 points. I'm gonna start there. That surprises me. Falcons have got a better record. Obviously, Tampa had that big win against the Panthers, but they've still got one less win than the Falcons. And the Falcons had their own big win against the undefeated 49ers. So I'm a bit surprised by that line. Jamie: Are you? Liam: you hadn't have seen that, would you have thought that Tampa Bay would have been the favourites going into this? Bearing in mind t bearing in mind Baker didn't even have to pass the ball. Jamie: Not yeah, thanks. thanks for minding me. Liam: Ha ha ha. Jamie: Not not off the Yeah, it's weird one because you think like the undefeated forty niners just got done by the Falcons and like deservedly so as well. Like turnovers they were getting, offence was was good when they when they protect their their Penix and and like it going into this game, you would expect the Falcons who just took down the top seed realistically to be well, obviously now be the Vikings, but like to be that That favors. One point five is a weird one as well. Liam: Yeah. It's just pick pick your winner basically. But you know what though? That being said, mate, the Todd Bowl's defence turned up last week. I don't see that stop him. I mean a couple of weeks ago, Penix was getting corner blitzed to death. And y I think you can cook up a defense to absolutely put them under pressure. And I think that that continues this week. Clarge can see. Yaya D RB. Ruben Bain's going to get two sacks this week, promise ya. Don't even blink. but Baker's going to get some merge back. He's not going to run because I don't want to see Baker run anymore. I want him to scramble, but I want him to throw it away before he starts taking tackles. But I want to need to be need a bit more mo need a bit more throw in. this is his also, this is his old coach when he's at the Browns that dumped him, right? This is the real revenge game. You know, Stefansky. Jamie: Forgot that. Yeah. Yeah. Liam: So Jamie: Yeah. Liam: I'm gonna lock the Bucks. I like at there's not that much to say. Like, this is just two teams coming off two good wins. Interested to see how this game goes. I'm excited for the Buccaneers defense and for them to kick off into this season. Which this will really throw open the NFC South if the Bucs win. So yeah, who you going with? Jamie: Going for the the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We are we're locked. I Liam: Ooh J Bes we're locked. Jamie: do know why I want every single team to have three wins and five losses after all the buyers settled. Do you know what I mean? I want I want I want a winner having a negative record again. That's what I want from my NFC South. And and the more we can all beat Liam: Love it. Jamie: each other, the bet the more I like it. Liam: okay. I like some questions. Ami Craig Buker looks like he's gonna be back from concussion this week. And I'm hoping that Winfield Jr. comes back because that is then a big he's the best he might be the best defender for the Bucks on to the next game. It's with you. It's the Las Vegas Raiders, who are 3 4 at the New York Jets, who just lost to the Dolphins. Very interestingly, the Jets are favored by 1.5 points. Some mad odds going on. Thank you very much, Bet365, for those ones. But yeah, I don't know. Maybe that's a place to start. Jamie: I think that is the place to start. I so obviously the storylines going into this game, Kirk Cousins, qu even he questioned like, you know, when is Mendoza gonna start, that sort of stuff after four straight losses after starting the season three and the head coach come out and said that Kirk Cousins is our man this week, he's gonna start week eight. So we guarantee Kirkco. We guarantee it's Kirkco chains against the Jets. I don't see an outcome that isn't the Las Vegas Raiders winning this game. And I don't see an outcome where where the where does Aaron Glenn go from here? you're gonna be two and six. The Dolphins could end up with the same record as you in a in a week, two weeks. what are you gonna do? Get another number one pick and like what? Get what? Get maybe get your franchise QB. What Zach Wilson? Sam Darnold? Maybe th maybe third time, fifth time, sixth time lucky. Liam: I we could say the same for a few teams, but yeah. Yeah, it's a it's a weird one. I've not got this is not high on my billing to watch. I'm gonna be honest, Jamie. Jamie: It's it's a game that's tucked in red zone behind like every other game, and it Liam: It will it will only be on red zone. Jamie: Yeah. Liam: Right. but interested to see if this Trey Tucker Kirk Cousins connection continues. That's quite cool. And I I believe that Mendoza's not gonna play. So I haven't got much more to say than this one, except for I am locking up the Raiders with you. On to the next game. And it is the Indianapolis Colts at the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars favored by 7.5 points. We're going to dig into that. I'm not surprised. If you've been off social media, off news outlets, not seen anything in the NS NFL sphere. The Colts are having a yard sale. They're dang. Aaron Glenn with the little red flag, they're dangling all their players out there. So what I actually want to cover very quickly, Jamie, is first of all. The Colts trading away Quentin Ellison to the Seahawks. Like it or not, I love it. I think it's so good for the Seahawks. Third and a fifth. Jamie: I I th third and the fifth, twenty twenty seven, third, twenty twenty eight, fifth rounder, I I think it's great. I think it's fantastic for the Seattle Seahawks to get that over the l I I actually couldn't quite believe it. And also, if anybody wants to just have a have a little Google or have a little search on Instagram or TikTok or Twitter or any other social media provider and have a look what have a look what Jonathan Taylor's wife has made of this trade as well, then it does make for even more interesting viewing. She basically called out the franchise as a whole and said, we we won't win another game. When where are we where do we go from here? am I ready to pack my bags? by Halloween? Liam: Yeah. Jamie: And you think, well Liam: Well, okay. I d I don't know that Jonathan Taylor's gonna get traded. Jamie: I don't think they will now. I think after this trade and then the the Forest Buck trade as well to the forty nine is like Liam: Let's get to that one in a second, but yeah, do you think J T's going anywhere? Jamie: No, unless it's for a first. I I'd maybe a second. But then it like you said, like realistically. Liam: I've seen the Vikings rumoured. I've seen the Vikings rumoured. Jamie: Yeah, mean that would solve their problem, Mason and then Jones. I mean Jones senior being out, but like it yeah, it's a it's an interesting one. I think they I I do I think the si Vikings or Seahawks have to come in, I think. And then they could they could secure it, depending what they get. But I think those both teams, even if you get a first rounder or a second rounder, it's a bottom tier first round, second round. So you guarantee like twenty fifth pick down. Is Jonathan Taylor worth, you know, are you gonna pick him up twenty fifth in the first round? Like probably not. So depends what package they can put together and what the sealts can send back. I don't know what the Velekins are gonna send to Liam: I don't think the Sea's gonna do it and I don't think the Vikings are either. I just can't Jamie: No, I think he I think he stays put. It but brilliant. Liam: Unless he forces his way out for some reason. But he is a Jamie: Yeah, that's that's the only thing. Liam: what a wasted career. Poor bloke. Anyway, right. Sorry, Devoris Buckner. Good trade or not. I think it's decent. I think the forty nineers need depth who have traded for him. I think it's quite good. I just I just don't know if it really is gonna shift the needle apart from add the depth that they require because of their injury worries. Jamie: It it's a classic 49ers trade, isn't it? They, next man up thing. They they brought him in. Fourth rounder, by the way. That is a bargain and a half. I don't want to make you out the Panthers, right? But we are struggling in that D line. Liam: Go get some players, right? Jamie: Go get some players. And he's up for a fourth rounder. I couldn't believe when I saw he's up for a fourth rounder. Why why would you not go get him for a fourth? Liam: These teams make it look so easy. And I'm like, just go get guys, go start buying from these teams that are getting rid of players. If Jamie: Yeah. Yeah. Liam: you're in anywhere near when now, if you just want to win your division, go buy these players. But anyway, on to the game at hand. I'm going to start by saying I'm locking the Jaguars. I don't see anything else. This is a demoralized Colts team away from home, a division match. So the Jags aren't going to be taking it easy. They're going to want to embarrass them. They've just lost an offensive lineman, so the running game's going to be worse. They've just lost a defender. They're pro maybe their best defender on performance, maybe. So I I just can't see it any other way. I mean, I'm interested to just see how dark it can get for the Colts at this point. But apart from that, Parker Washington, I expect to see a great game from him. interesting from me thoughts wise, Brian Thomas Jr. Are they going to try and flash him for a couple of big plays to try and shift him in the trade window? That's my other thought. Jamie: I love that and I think the Chiefs need a wide receiver. So my Liam: Mm Jamie: my thing is like, look, put him in the shop window, Chiefs gonna come in for him, they need a wide receiver, Jags aren't using him, bish bash bosh, let's get it done. Liam: Love that. Although they are saying they're not gonna trade in, but anyway, don't believe that. I'm locking the Jags. Jamie: I'm locked with the Jags. There's there's not there's nothing else to mention. I it'll be interesting to see what the Jags are like after their loss last kick in a game against the Texans in London, but that felt that feels like like a month ago now. Liam: Yeah, also, yeah, yeah, completely agree. on to the next game. It is the Tennessee Titans at the Cincinnati Bengals. Biggest line of the week. The Bengals are favored by ten point five points, which that feels very big to me. But Jamie's with you. Jamie: I'm going Bengals. I I I haven't got much to say about this one. for the Titans, it looks like Calvin Ridley's got hip injury and Spears could be is questionable with as well with a knee injury. But Tony Pollard was playing some give me the ball and I'm gonna make some stuff happen against the Browns. but they did blow a 14-nil lead against the Browns and lost at 127-24. And the Bengals went 35 unanswered in the second half against the Ravens. So if the Tet if the Titans somehow pulled us off and win the game, unbelievable. Shock the NFL. Shock me. But I'm going Bengals. Liam: I'm also going Ben Galls, Jamie. We're locked. Only thing else. And and I I don't think they're going to beat. I don't think they're going to. I don't think they're Jamie: Not beat this red. Liam: going to beat the spread. I'm going to take the Titans on the spread. 10.5 lot points. Tennessee Jamie: Yeah, yeah. Liam: have been marginally competitive. Tony Pollard's having a hell of a game. They've got decent special teams. So I'm just going to say Jamie: They're they're improving. Liam: not the Bengals, but not to beat the spread. interesting one to keep watching. Chase Brown still losing snaps to Some AGP Ryan, one of my favourite names in the league. and I I don't know, depending on how you feel. Are you gonna buy low on Chase Brown in leagues where you can? Jamie: think so. I I think Liam: You are. Jamie: yeah, I think you would, wouldn't you? Because I th I Liam: Don't know. That's what I'm asking. Jamie: no, I think you would. I think I I still think he's better than P Ryan. But Chase Brown compared to last season, Chase Brown, he had games where he could win them by himself and he was open as a receiver a lot of the times. Whereas this season, it doesn't seem like he's getting the even the receptions, let alone let alone like you say, like losing snaps in turn to Russian as well. So Pff, it's y you're not a getting P right now, ya? Liam: So sorry, cheeky on from me. Okay, we're both locking the Bengals. So quick summary so far. So we're both locking the Green Bay Packers. I'm locking the Baltimore Ravens. Jamie's locking the Bills. I'm locking the Vikings. Jamie's locking the Lions. I'm locking the Steelers. Jamie's locking the Browns. We're both lucking the Dallas Cowboys to beat the Cardinals. We're both locking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Have got that right? Yep. Jamie: Yeah, out of the box. Liam: We're both locking the Raiders, both locking the Jacksonville Jaguars, and we're both locking Cincinnati Bengals. on to the next one. Jamie, it's with me. It's the Kansas City Chiefs, who are five and one now at the Denver Broncos, who are five and two for first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs are favored by 1.5 points. So this is an interesting game. This is exactly where the Broncos want the division, according to me. They want to be playing the big teams at home for all the glory. And that's exactly what they've got after the Chiefs lost last week to Seattle. I think that this is gonna be a really good game. First one we're talking about in the late window. The Seattle Seahawks showed how you can shut down this Chiefs' offense, and it starts with Kenneth Walker. If you shut down Kenneth Walker. You're putting the game on the back of Xavier Worthy and an old man, Travis Kelsey. And I don't think that's a formula s for success. So I'm not going to get too deep into it, but Bonix actually started to Jamie doesn't love it, but he was doing a lot of successful screen passes, right? So the passing game was there on the stat sheet. He showed some longer scrambles. He had a sixty two yard touchdown run. For me It's gonna be the Denver Broncos riding that home crowd and I'm locking them up for the Jamie: we're locked. I thought you would I thought you'd back the spread for in favour of the Chiefs. I mean the spread is clearly so tight that they j j they don't know either. And it's it's two teams that I don't think have proved it to me. Not they have to prove it to me any you know anyway, but like from watching them, they just haven't proved that they're the that they're actually that good. I don't think either team would beat the Bills. I don't think on a fully fit Ravens, I don't think either team beat them either. so Liam: And that means you don't think they beat the Browns or the Steelers. Jamie: And I don't think they beat the Browns right now. I think the But the yeah, I'm I'm literally only going for the Broncos because of that home record. That crowd. Mahomes coming off probably the worst game he's ever had in the NFL, like offensively. So shout out to the dark side. So Liam: Yep. this is this is one of the other good de this is one of the I think there's three awesome defenses in the league and I think it's Seattle, I think it's Minnesota, and I think the third one is Denver at home. Jamie: Developed. Liam: Both locking the Denver Broncos. I didn't see that one coming. on to the next game. Jamie, it's with you. It's the New England Patriots who are four and three at the Miami Dolphins. Patriots favoured by seven point five points. Jamie: Yeah, it's understandable. but Miami could come into this game flying those Dolphins, being like, wow, we've we've beaten the mighty, unbelievable Aaron Glenn Jets. Now we're gonna ride those cocktails into the AFCE's battle again against New England. And I think they're gonna get stuffed. I think Drake May's improving. I think I think AJ Brown's gonna have a better game than what he's had. Dolphin secondary's actually been quite good this season. Sneakily good from what from from the stats sheet, if anyone does trust stats. New England obviously from Thursday night they've had extra rest going into this game as well. So I've I've I'm back in New England in this game. I think I think May's gonna do what he does, three hundred plus passing yards, make the ball move. I think he's gonna I think it's gonna be a very good business like performance from New England Patriots. Liam: call me crazy, but what on earth was Drake May in the first three weeks versus what he is now? What a man. Jamie: Ha how how honestly, but how do you have that transformation? nothing really changed apart from him actually trusting these receivers that no one's ever heard of. Like that's it, right? Yeah. Liam: Yeah. I mean, hell of a thing to believe in, but yeah. So awesome. We're both locking the pages. Not much to say. I'm fascinated to see when AJ Brown turns up for the season. Maybe it's today. Jamie: So am I because he was like my it's a very early pick. I think it might have been second round for me. He's killed me, but it's fine. Liam: he's killed some fantasy leagues, hasn't he, for people, but dear. I am taking them to beat this bread as well. I think they're gonna absolutely batter the Dolphins who are gonna be a bit complacent after their win. On to the next game, and it is the LA Chargers at The LA Rams in a home match versus home match. Whose home is it? And The Chargers are the league's only winless team. Jamie: Only. Liam: The only winless team. the Rams have come back, the running game is popping. Right. That is killing it for this Rams team. They are leaning on those running backs. Kyron Williams, I'm loving him showing a bit more bite and personality as well. He is a man built for this LA team. I don't know how I feel about this. I feel like this isn't it isn't a rivalry because the Rams chant of whose house is it? Right? Our house. La la la. That's gotta get the back of the Chargers up. And they're able to watch each other. That all being said, got Lad McConkie might be back, but he's practicing after I've been on concussion. But I d I don't know. I wanna say the Chargers, but th there's just nothing to buy in about this Chargers team, is there? Jamie: Nothing. Yeah. Liam: Justin Herbert not playing well. Wide receivers not playing well. You've got first round picks at running back, not playing well. O line, two first rounders who are meant to be like stars of the league. One was the most penalised player in the league until he's now out and not playing. So like the other one's out as well. Like it are it's it's abhorrent. That's what the charges are. Jamie: Derwin Derwin James out. Liam: Derwin man, gets worse. So I don't know. I just I don't want to, but I'm I'm going with the Rams. Reluctantly I'm going with the Rams. But maybe the Cho It would be a nice upset. Jamie: Y yeah, obvious yeah, obviously. But the yeah, I'm we're we're locked. You have to back the re you there's nothing as you said that can convince me and you to be like, Yes, I'm gonna back the Chargers I'm part from blind loyalty. That's literally like there's nothing else in that. Liam: Yeah. They need one performance this year before we're gonna start backing them, I think. So Jamie: Yeah, and it might come against the Dolphins if they're lucky. I I will just just have some st I do have some stats very quickly about the Chargers. wins at Sofi. Do you know they haven't won a game since last December? They've actually lost nine straight games going into this one. Liam: Rough. Jamie: the last game was literally the Christmas weekend. wins at SoFire in 2026. This is my favourite one. Spain, obviously we had the World Cup this year. Spain have two, USA have won more than the Chargers in Sofar. Switzerland have, Belgium have, Turkey have. Canada have, Bills have, Broncos have, Raiders have, Cardinals have two, and the Chargers and Justin Herbert have zero wins at so Liam: Rough. Jamie: far. Liam: That's bad. So we're both lucky the rounds, clearly. gosh. Jamie: Well, the bike guy rabs, yeah. Liam: On to the next one. It's the Philadelphia Eagles at the Washington Commanders. Jamie, it's with you. The Commanders are favoured by four point five points. Jamie: Ooh. Can can can Daniels end that run of three hundred and almost ninety games without three hundred and ninety days without winning? Can he actually get a win on the board against a battered Philadelphia Eagles team? I really don't know. But do you know what? Philadelphia put up more points than I expected against the Cowboys. They perform better defensively against the Jags than I expected. If they can put those two performances together. Against a commanders team with a head coach that I think will probably get fired after if they lose this game. I think they could, I've got this weird feeling that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to win this game. I I don't know what it is. They might not even have a running back going into this game. They've definitely not got a quarterback going into this game. They have they've got Devonta Smith potentially, although he's got a hamstring injury. They've got no wicks. But for some reason, I can't trust. The commanders who can't kick a field goal to win a game with forty seven seconds left. I can't trust the commanders who haven't won for Jaden Daniels have one a game. There'll be more games with Marcus Mariotto at quarterback in the last two years than they have with Jaden Daniels. I can't trust Jaden Daniels win a game. So I'm going for the Philadelphia Eagles. Liam: Love it. I don't know. This is a weird game. Don't believe in either of these teams. Dan Quinn, gotta get a win, gotta save your job. So I'm gonna back the Washington Commanders at home. Terry McLaurin now. These teams, wow. A mess of a division, but like rough support at the minute for both these teams. Jamie: That that was the science that James was obviously talking about. He's talking the injuries. He foresaw Terry McLaurin getting injured. He foresaw JJ coming into a division and just turning up the heat for the Giants. he foresaw blood clots in Jalen Hurts. He foresaw a hamstring and a back injury for for sake of it. Liam: good good uniform game. both the uniforms. lovely uniform game. But Jamie: Lovely. Lovely, yeah. Liam: yeah, I mean I I don't know. I know what you're saying, I just can't buy into Tanner McKee. He hasn't looked good. Jamie: I've just realised this is Sunday night football. Liam: This is Sunday night football. Jamie: Don't want to flex this. Liam: they have to flex it two weeks ahead of time, I believe. that means that they could they just couldn't. But yeah, this is not no Terry McLaurin, no Jalen Hurts. is I'm trying to think, is Saquon Bart gonna play? Is Devonta Smith gonna play? Is Duntavian Wicks gonna play? Jamie: Frost Comerits out as well when I are. Liam: Krosky Merries. Yeah, he's been out on IR for a couple of weeks, so he's going to be out until a couple more Jamie: Yeah. Liam: weeks as well. there's a lot of lack of talent on both these. Not injured talent, that's what I'm going to say. So I'm going with the commanders, though. So Jamie, we're not locked on a face-off. Bosh. Love that. Bit more conflict. going into Monday night football. It is the five and two Chicago Bears at the four and three. Seattle Seahawks. What a game. This is a good Monday night football game for the lack of quality in the other night football games. And the dark side they showed up, they're back. They are back. Chicago also have Caleb Williams back. And he he is we he's undeniable that he's been good with Ben Johnson and this offense. I'm ri I'm re I'm really interested to see how this one goes. I'm ultimately hoping, though, that the Seahawks with Emmanuel Wilson and the running the game that they've got, and how absolutely unstoppable JSN has been. Because Let's be real, at the minute, he is the most undeniable wide receiver of this season. so I don't see the Bears quite having an answer for that. And maybe this running game, especially if Nelson comes in and helps out with the slightly longer week. Chicago, I've got a bit of a blind spot for them. They're good, but I'm a bit like it's just a bit magic. It's a bit of run game, it's a bit of pass game. Luther Burden had a really good game last week. They fascinate me. But I just can't see it in Seattle. I can't see anything but a Seattle Seahawks win. I forgot to mention Zoe, Seahawks are favoured by three point five points. Jamie: It's a great game. D right now, would you take Cada Williams over Patrick Mahomes, by the way? Liam: I'm glad you said that. I actually was gonna say he he feels the most Patrick Mahomes quarterback in the league. Jamie: Right? he can 'cause he can you contain you you try and contain him in terms of the passing, you lock it down his passing, but on his he can move. That boy can move. Well, he he pulls his hamstring regularly, but he can move still. You know what I Liam: Can see. Jamie: mean? So it is it's it I the problem with me, there isn't a Bears running game to shut down so successfully that the Seahawks did with Kenneth Walker. So it is through the air. Can the Seahawks stop him? Liam: It's a well-rounded offense, isn't it? This Ben Johnson way. It's well thought through, considered. The running game picks up where the passing game falls off. The passing game picks up where the running game falls off. It's like it's really there. You know what's going to be interesting though? The turnover battle. If Sam Darnold keeps throwing picks, Jamie: I'm I'm also I'm locked with by the way. I'm I've gone via South I'm going to Seattle. I wanted Liam: Come on the sea hawks. I thought you might go bears for a bit controversy. So yeah. Jamie: to, but then I'm like you proved it. I wanted to see that dark side. I want to see that defence and you proved it to me last game. So I'm like, until that defence proves me otherwise, like a commander's blip, I'll back the Seahawks. Liam: Commander's blip. There you go. We all have a commander blip every now and again. But there we go. So awesome. So to summarize the last, the late window, Sunday night football, Monday night games, we're both locking Denver against the Chiefs in Mile High. We're both locking the New England Patriots and we're both locking the LA Rams. I'm backing the commanders to beat the Philadelphia Eagles who Eagles in Sunday night football, who Jamie is backing. And we are both lucking the Seattle Seahawks to beat the Chicago Bears in Monday night football. That is the previews. On to our next segment of the week. And it is our wild takes. Jamie, what have you got? Jamie: Wild. Well I've backed them during the preview show. I'm backing the Browns to win in Pittsburgh on another field goal. Walk off. The Steeders love a field goal. It's gonna be a field goal shootout. And Andre's gonna get the last laugh again for three straight weeks. So I'm back Browns to win by another field goal. Liam: What l as in a field goal walk off? Jamie: Two seconds left. Liam: For my wild take, I am taking Lamar Jackson, three touchdown passes, big win against the spread away at the Bills. Lamar is back. And he wants to show who's got the most V P titles out there. That's what he wants. He's gonna elect an VP. That's what these two are gonna argue about for their Hall of Ca fame career. Josh Allen and Lamar, who's got more VPs. So yeah. Jamie: It it it should be it is an V battle off, isn't it? It's like whoever wins this Liam: Mm. Jamie: game is gonna be like, actually I deserve the VP for dragging my team. Liam: MVP off exactly. It's a mate, Jamie: Mm. Liam: this is a big game. All this is a great game for an early window game.
