- 1:37Speaker 2: today with neighbor wars. I don't know if there's something
- 1:40Speaker 2: that is more relatable than having an a whole neighbor
- 1:44Speaker 2: or an inconsiderate neighbor. I think we've I think we've
- 1:49Speaker 2: all experienced at least one, if not both.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I've gone to jail for one.
- 1:58Speaker 2: And everything I just is off the table, tray, the
- 2:03Speaker 2: floor is yours.
- 2:05Speaker 3: We never talked about this about three years ago.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Let's see, what was I guess it's twenty two. I think, yeah,
- 2:17Speaker 1: definitely twenty one or twenty two.
- 2:20Speaker 3: So there's five.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I had a neighbor and he was absolutely the worst
- 2:24Speaker 1: human being on the face of the earth, so much
- 2:26Speaker 1: so like he went out of his way and it
- 2:28Speaker 1: wasn't just me, it was the person on the other
- 2:30Speaker 1: side too.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:32Speaker 3: He would put like massagers, like you.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Know, like the big ones like you like literally need
- 2:38Speaker 1: two handles, Like he would put them up against the
- 2:40Speaker 1: wall to rattle everything, kind.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Of like the ones at Floyd's barber shop. Yeah, it's
- 2:46Speaker 2: like you need the two hands and you have to
- 2:48Speaker 2: really it's almost like a violent sander.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yes, it just and did all and finally after and
- 2:58Speaker 1: I begged, I mean, we had recordings, we begged the management,
- 3:02Speaker 1: everything else.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I finally snapped one night. It was.
- 3:07Speaker 1: It was just after Texas ou weekend and I was
- 3:10Speaker 1: short on sleep and I was trying to go to bed.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It was like nine o'clock and he started that and
- 3:14Speaker 1: I went over and I put hands around his throat.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Was it to demonstrate to him what him running the
- 3:28Speaker 2: massager up against the wall feels like? Or were you
- 3:31Speaker 2: trying to kill him? Is there a statute of limitations
- 3:36Speaker 2: on this? Do you need to be careful how you
- 3:38Speaker 2: answer that.
- 3:39Speaker 3: No, I've already I've already been through probation and oh, okay, so.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It was a misdemeanor assault. I didn't leave, amazingly, didn't
- 3:47Speaker 1: leave bruises.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So you've been adjudicated.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I have been adjudicated.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Okay. Were you trying to kill him? You know I was.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I was trying not to. Uh No, I wasn't trying
- 4:02Speaker 3: to kill him.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I was just trying to express my frustration after a
- 4:05Speaker 1: year of him absolutely being a dick and ruining sleep.
- 4:10Speaker 3: And countless nights.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Uh. At some point I I'll go through my phone
- 4:16Speaker 1: and I can dig up some of the recordings. But yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 1: it's it was unbelievable shit he pulled.
- 4:24Speaker 2: As I'm asking the question, I'm envisioning your answer as
- 4:28Speaker 2: I say, were you trying to kill him? In which case,
- 4:31Speaker 2: if you were trying to kill him, I think he'd
- 4:33Speaker 2: be dead because I I, I've known you a long time.
- 4:40Speaker 2: If you're seeing red, you know how that? Yeah, so
- 4:46Speaker 2: here's here's God damn, why was he doing this?
- 4:51Speaker 3: We don't know. He was just it was.
- 4:55Speaker 1: He was a short little fuck and he I.
- 5:03Speaker 3: The other guy behind on the other side of him.
- 5:05Speaker 1: His name's Kyle, and Kyle and his wife were just
- 5:07Speaker 1: two of the nicest people in the world. And I
- 5:09Speaker 1: still did I keep up with him, love him to death.
- 5:12Speaker 3: We don't know.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He just it's like he got his rocks off on
- 5:18Speaker 1: being a nuisance.
- 5:20Speaker 2: So he was a real life troll instead of an
- 5:22Speaker 2: online troll. He's trolling his neighbors in real life by
- 5:26Speaker 2: vibrating everyone's apartments.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Vibrating I like, I literally one.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Day I got so mad and I had to quit
- 5:32Speaker 1: because the other guy on the other side complained and
- 5:34Speaker 1: I liked him too.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I literally I went and got from the bar one.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Of a big speaker and I hooked it up to
- 5:44Speaker 1: Tejano music, cranked the bass up and just put it
- 5:47Speaker 1: right against the wall.
- 5:49Speaker 3: And so every time it was like, fine, you want
- 5:52Speaker 3: to do this?
- 5:54Speaker 1: Oh the other thing he would do he uh or
- 5:57Speaker 1: later I think it was a lacrosse ball. He would
- 6:02Speaker 1: bounce just against the wall. He would like throw it
- 6:06Speaker 1: and uh So when he would start doing that or
- 6:09Speaker 1: whatever else, I went and got the speaker and uh
- 6:14Speaker 1: let him enjoy Sey Hono music, good, the good basic kind.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I like how he started out annoying, or
- 6:27Speaker 2: his method was to be annoying. Yours was to recreate
- 6:32Speaker 2: a Cia Black site the.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Ball thing, you know.
- 6:36Speaker 1: He I think at first he just didn't think that
- 6:40Speaker 1: it would be disturbing to everyone else. And then it's
- 6:44Speaker 1: like when he figured it out.
- 6:46Speaker 3: He just didn't give a shit. And so yeah, God, Dakota.
- 6:55Speaker 2: His name was Dakota. So as far as we know,
- 6:59Speaker 2: there are two Dakotas that live in the North Texas area.
- 7:03Speaker 2: One was an a hole neighbor of yours. The other
- 7:06Speaker 2: is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yeah, you're never gonna mistake these two. There would be
- 7:15Speaker 3: no confusion between the two of them.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty sure if Dak Prescott was your neighbor
- 7:20Speaker 2: and throwing a ball against the wall, it probably would
- 7:23Speaker 2: have gone through at some point.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, unless it was the fourth quarter in the games
- 7:27Speaker 3: on the line.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Uh, right out the window into the hands of a
- 7:36Speaker 2: waiting Giants cornerback who just happened to be walking by.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It was like, where did this come from? I'm just
- 7:44Speaker 2: like visiting my grandma. All right, So thank you for
- 7:49Speaker 2: sharing your neighbor's story. I've got one to share that
- 7:57Speaker 2: is currently happening to me. But before we get to
- 8:00Speaker 2: that one, this one to me is interesting, And by
- 8:03Speaker 2: interesting I mean really clear cut. So someone jumped online
- 8:11Speaker 2: and said my neighbor kept parking in my driveway after
- 8:14Speaker 2: multiple warnings, I had her car toad, and now she
- 8:18Speaker 2: wants me to pay the fee. That's just the headline.
- 8:26Speaker 2: There's a story to this that I'll be honest with you.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I don't even think this needs much context. The only
- 8:35Speaker 2: question I would have based on that headline, let me
- 8:39Speaker 2: repeat it. My neighbor kept parking in my driveway after
- 8:42Speaker 2: multiple warnings, I had her car toad and now she
- 8:45Speaker 2: wants me to pay the fee. Every question I have
- 8:48Speaker 2: about this situation is already answered in the headline, but
- 8:53Speaker 2: I'll ask the question anyway to you, Trey the ultimate question,
- 8:57Speaker 2: and that is is this guy right to have the
- 9:03Speaker 2: neighbor's car towed for parking in his driveway?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yes, I mean he's absolutely one correct now if especially
- 9:18Speaker 1: if she's blocking the driveway likearing with him getting to
- 9:24Speaker 1: a garage or something like that.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Absolutely, And the fact that if.
- 9:29Speaker 1: He gave her multiple warnings, he is a far nicer
- 9:32Speaker 1: person than I went because I would give one warning
- 9:35Speaker 1: and then I'm towing your car. So here's if I
- 9:42Speaker 1: come home and I'm like, I need to get into
- 9:44Speaker 1: the garage or something, whether you know you're hauling something
- 9:48Speaker 1: or whatever, I would absolutely and it would probably get
- 9:53Speaker 1: towed with four flat tires.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Don't know what happened. So here's the full context. My
- 9:59Speaker 2: neighbor and I have houses next to each other, but
- 10:02Speaker 2: we don't share a driveway. My driveway is on my
- 10:05Speaker 2: side of the property line, and there's even a fence
- 10:07Speaker 2: separating our yards. After a couple of about a couple
- 10:12Speaker 2: of weeks ago, my neighbor's adult daughter moved back home.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Since then, her Silver Civic has been parked in my
- 10:17Speaker 2: driveway four different times. The first time I knocked on
- 10:21Speaker 2: her door and she apologized and moved it. The second time,
- 10:25Speaker 2: I left a note on the windshield saying it was
- 10:27Speaker 2: my private driveway and asked her not to park there again.
- 10:30Speaker 2: The third time I talked to her directly. She said
- 10:33Speaker 2: her daughter only needed the space temporarily and that she
- 10:36Speaker 2: didn't think it was a big deal since my driveway
- 10:38Speaker 2: was empty. The fourth time, I got home from work
- 10:44Speaker 2: around seven PM with groceries in the rain and the
- 10:47Speaker 2: same car is sitting in my driveway. No one was home.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I called the towing company first to make sure I
- 10:53Speaker 2: was allowed to have it removed from my property. They
- 10:55Speaker 2: confirmed I could, so I had it towed. Next morning,
- 10:58Speaker 2: my neighbor came over angry. She said her daughter had
- 11:01Speaker 2: to pay three hundred and fifty dollars to get the
- 11:03Speaker 2: car back, and that I should reimburse her because I
- 11:06Speaker 2: caused the fee. I told her I had already asked
- 11:10Speaker 2: multiple times. She said, I didn't think you were actually
- 11:13Speaker 2: going to toe it. You could have just called me
- 11:15Speaker 2: I told her, I understand that, but I also expected
- 11:18Speaker 2: my driveway not to be used after I asked you
- 11:20Speaker 2: not to. Since then, she has had spoken to me.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Her daughter texted me saying I made this into a
- 11:24Speaker 2: bigger deal than it needed to be. Another neighbor told
- 11:26Speaker 2: me I should have tried one more conversation before escalating,
- 11:29Speaker 2: because we still had to live next to each other.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I know neighbor relationships matter, but I also feel like
- 11:36Speaker 2: I gave enough warnings. So did I escalate too far?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Or did I give enough chances?
- 11:44Speaker 1: You, your neighbor, the neighbor that said you should have
- 11:48Speaker 1: given them one more time, the mother daughter, all of them,
- 11:54Speaker 1: all the way off, all the way off. You gave
- 11:58Speaker 1: ample choices, gave ample warning. You're, like I said, if
- 12:07Speaker 1: it especially in the rain. I've got groceries and I
- 12:09Speaker 1: can't get Oh yeah, there's you're You're mysteriously gonna be,
- 12:14Speaker 1: you know, running on flats.
- 12:21Speaker 2: This is where this whole, the whole neighbor relationship thing
- 12:24Speaker 2: is fascinating to me, because I feel like in neighbor
- 12:28Speaker 2: relationships there are two types of people. There's someone that
- 12:33Speaker 2: cares about the neighbor relationship and thinks about the consequences
- 12:37Speaker 2: of a feud. And then there's the other person that
- 12:40Speaker 2: doesn't give a flying f about it. And if the
- 12:46Speaker 2: one neighbor doesn't give a flying f about it, you
- 12:48Speaker 2: shouldn't either, because there's no winning that, there is no
- 12:51Speaker 2: there is no oh, you know, the neighbor relationship matters,
- 12:55Speaker 2: and I don't want to have a neighbor war. That
- 12:57Speaker 2: person is not going to bend, and so they are
- 13:00Speaker 2: taking advantage of knowing either a they don't care what
- 13:05Speaker 2: you do, or B that you will bend because you're
- 13:08Speaker 2: the one in the relationship that cares about good neighbor feelings.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I'll get back to the neighbor thing in a second. Well,
- 13:21Speaker 1: they're the problem with this whole story. And it's probably
- 13:23Speaker 1: the thing I hate more than just about anything else
- 13:26Speaker 1: in this world is entitlement. It shows a level of
- 13:30Speaker 1: entitlement that you don't have. You think your neighbors, you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: driveway is your driveway because it's more convenient for you.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Whatever. And I blame the mom, I blame the daughter. Whatever.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Listen, I try very I'm not I don't know my neighbors.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I seldom see them.
- 13:47Speaker 1: It's not like I keep normal hours, but I try
- 13:49Speaker 1: to be a good neighbor. And I'll give you a
- 13:51Speaker 1: very concrete example of like right now, I get up
- 13:55Speaker 1: at four forty in the morning. I exercise at five.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Now some mornings I do. I've been trying to do yoga.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I would love to do yoga.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Is that part of your court ordered rehabilitation from your choking? Oh? Okay,
- 14:17Speaker 2: just making sure.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I would love to do yoga from my living room
- 14:26Speaker 1: because but I'm learning, and I watch videos and I
- 14:30Speaker 1: try to imlate. But yoga's hard. If you've never done it,
- 14:35Speaker 1: don't don't sit there and snicker.
- 14:37Speaker 3: It's hard. I am.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I am in very good shape, and I am telling
- 14:41Speaker 1: you it's hard. I know you, but I'm just I'm
- 14:44Speaker 1: saying the general audience.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah no, this is one of those opportunities for me
- 14:48Speaker 2: to briefly just to tell for those that don't know
- 14:50Speaker 2: the story. I'm not gonna tell the whole story. I'm
- 14:51Speaker 2: just gonna tell the very brief version that the first
- 14:55Speaker 2: time I tried yoga with my wife, doing like a
- 14:57Speaker 2: P ninety X yoga, I got stuck. I'm not making
- 15:01Speaker 2: that up. I got stuck and she had to push
- 15:03Speaker 2: me over to unlock me. So yeah, so, but.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I don't do it in my living room because it's
- 15:13Speaker 1: five in the morning and I'm trying to be a
- 15:15Speaker 1: courteous neighbor and not make a bunch of racket for.
- 15:18Speaker 3: The people below me. So I go to the gym
- 15:21Speaker 3: and I do it there.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Even when I get back and when I have a
- 15:25Speaker 1: little you know thing, I sit on, meditate everything else.
- 15:29Speaker 1: But I try to be very gentle, so I'm not
- 15:34Speaker 1: mister stompy for the neighbors below me. I have neighbors
- 15:38Speaker 1: above me that do not hesitate at all to be
- 15:42Speaker 1: mister stompy. They clearly do not know what it means
- 15:45Speaker 1: to pick up your feet to walk softly. Everything is
- 15:48Speaker 1: like them trudging through the god snow.
- 15:54Speaker 2: That's the hell I am currently living in. We are
- 15:59Speaker 2: on the third floor of this apartment. Yeah, and it's
- 16:05Speaker 2: it's a it's it's you know. We're currently in Portland,
- 16:08Speaker 2: so it's basically Austin Northwest. So we're in a midrise
- 16:11Speaker 2: apartment building and so there's a number of floors above us.
- 16:16Speaker 2: But the people above us are are the stompy mc
- 16:19Speaker 2: Stomperson's I'm pretty sure it actually says it next to
- 16:22Speaker 2: their mailbox, and they don't know from walking softly. I
- 16:29Speaker 2: swear to God it's Harry and the Henderson's living up there.
- 16:31Speaker 2: You know, you want to know why you don't see
- 16:33Speaker 2: Bigfoot on TV when they go looking for him in
- 16:35Speaker 2: the woods, because the whole family's living right above me.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Stomp stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp, and they are on a
- 16:45Speaker 2: semi normal schedule. Okay, that's the good thing. Around six
- 16:53Speaker 2: thirty to seven am, Portland time, they're up, they're waking up,
- 16:57Speaker 2: they're walking, they're stomping around, and they're going to bed
- 17:00Speaker 2: around ten thirty eleven o'clock at night. The problem with
- 17:05Speaker 2: that is we are middle aged. We are already in
- 17:11Speaker 2: bed by the time they start their evening stomping, and
- 17:15Speaker 2: because we don't keep normal bankers hours we're both self employed,
- 17:20Speaker 2: we actually get to sleep in a little bit later sometimes,
- 17:24Speaker 2: so they're going to bed later and waking up earlier,
- 17:28Speaker 2: which means they're waking us up on both ends of
- 17:30Speaker 2: their stomping sessions. And Jesus H. Christ, there are so
- 17:36Speaker 2: many different ways to go about trying to solve this problem.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I hardly know which one to pick because I suffer
- 17:42Speaker 2: from a severe case of analysis paralysis, I can overthink
- 17:47Speaker 2: almost any situation to debt. So you are currently dealing
- 17:52Speaker 2: with stompy upstairs neighbors. We've got the stompy mc stompersons
- 17:55Speaker 2: living above us. What's the best course of action to
- 17:58Speaker 2: get them to stop?
- 18:00Speaker 3: You know, that's it's a great question.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I had the same problem in my last apartment, and
- 18:06Speaker 1: I recorded the people and I sent it to the
- 18:09Speaker 1: management I'm going. I said, could you please ask these
- 18:12Speaker 1: people just to try to walk a little bit softly?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Like it is not everything needs to be just like
- 18:20Speaker 1: you're marching. And I'm probably gonna end up doing the
- 18:24Speaker 1: same thing. Except my previous management were very proactive and
- 18:28Speaker 1: very good.
- 18:29Speaker 3: This management my current building not so much.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So I have a feeling their response to everything is
- 18:34Speaker 1: we'll call security. Yeah, because security is gonna come do anything?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Is they don't do jat crap anyways, So my next
- 18:45Speaker 1: and this is where you never you're you can go
- 18:49Speaker 1: two different directions on this. You think about, well, maybe
- 18:52Speaker 1: if I, you know, left some cookies and a note
- 18:56Speaker 1: ups in their door saying hey, could you mind not
- 19:00Speaker 1: trying to walk a little bit softer, especially early in
- 19:03Speaker 1: the morning or in the evening luckily with my new schedule,
- 19:08Speaker 1: because they they keep an almost identical schedule as to
- 19:13Speaker 1: what you are talking about, except so they are up
- 19:17Speaker 1: at about six thirty. Well I'm already up, so it's okay.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Going to bed though, So I typically now.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I am in bed at nine.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And welcome, We've been waiting for you. It is so nice.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Try, and my goal is to be a sleep by ten.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's why I don't have a phone in
- 19:42Speaker 1: my bedroom anymore or anything. But it does get a
- 19:48Speaker 1: little trying. If they are running late and they're still
- 19:52Speaker 1: stopping MC stoppers at at ten fifteen to ten thirty,
- 19:56Speaker 1: it does start to really irritate me.
- 19:59Speaker 2: And when you said when they were running late, in
- 20:02Speaker 2: my head, I thought you were about to say so
- 20:04Speaker 2: when they're running laps.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, And I feel like at some point in the
- 20:11Speaker 1: morning one of them does like push ups or sit
- 20:14Speaker 1: ups or something because there's a very rhythmic.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Or I'll say they have sex very consistently.
- 20:22Speaker 2: But like on the floor just as you get to
- 20:25Speaker 2: hear it.
- 20:28Speaker 1: But I know I'm kind of in the same predicament
- 20:30Speaker 1: of because the other thing about it is you could
- 20:33Speaker 1: also just they could take it the wrong way and
- 20:36Speaker 1: you just antagonize them and then they do it more.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Yeah. So yeah, two things. Solution based is the second one,
- 20:46Speaker 2: what do we do about it? The first thing is
- 20:49Speaker 2: just something that I think. This is something that my
- 20:52Speaker 2: wife and I do when the people above us are
- 20:54Speaker 2: stomping like crazy, we're trying to figure out we sometimes
- 20:57Speaker 2: I make a game out of it. What do we
- 21:00Speaker 2: think they're doing up there? Like you mentioned the rhythmic stomping.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Are they about to report to basic and they're just practicing.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Is it possible that they're doing medicine ball slams before
- 21:16Speaker 2: they go to bed or first thing in the morning
- 21:18Speaker 2: when they wake up. Are they thinking about doing some
- 21:22Speaker 2: remodeling and they've decided to start murmering the floor? And
- 21:27Speaker 2: that's the other thing with this midrise building is like
- 21:29Speaker 2: and it's probably the same for you. I mean, this
- 21:31Speaker 2: is this is concrete, so the vibrations and the sounds
- 21:35Speaker 2: do travel pretty good.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I don't think people realize that. I think especially I
- 21:41Speaker 1: think people think newer buildings they've built in a way
- 21:43Speaker 1: that they're sound proof, and it's like, no, they're not.
- 21:46Speaker 2: You know, they they absolutely cut those corners there's very
- 21:49Speaker 2: little on the sound. Prof.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I've wondered hopscotch is something to bring in woo
- 21:56Speaker 1: back a game of old I've wondered if maybe they've
- 21:59Speaker 1: got some chalk and they've just.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Made themselves a little hotscotch and jump rope.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Also, you know what, maybe what it is, maybe they're
- 22:08Speaker 2: just doing an old school like elementary school field day.
- 22:12Speaker 2: They're just doing all the activities. They're doing the sack rays,
- 22:15Speaker 2: jumping jacks, jumping jacks, double dutch jump rope.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I too have pondered these questions.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Yeah, so I also I did the same thing you
- 22:26Speaker 2: did when Tara and I were playing what is it
- 22:28Speaker 2: they're doing up their game? And I said hopscotch like
- 22:32Speaker 2: you did, and she said, I bet it's And she
- 22:34Speaker 2: went up to me so quick. She was like, it's
- 22:36Speaker 2: probably hopscotch on a pogo stick. And I was like, oh, yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 2: that's it. Yeah, you win to go stick. Yes, they're
- 22:45Speaker 2: up there Poe going like crazy. So the second part
- 22:49Speaker 2: is the solution. What do you do about it? Because
- 22:52Speaker 2: you mentioned Trey, do you leave some cookies in a
- 22:56Speaker 2: nice note that says please walk softly. Here's some snicker
- 22:59Speaker 2: doodles and do they then does it still annoy them?
- 23:03Speaker 2: What do you do? One idea Tara had was maybe
- 23:07Speaker 2: what we do is we buy some house shoes, some
- 23:12Speaker 2: nice cushioned house shoes, two pairs, because I think it's
- 23:15Speaker 2: a couple above us. You get two pairs of house
- 23:17Speaker 2: shoes in a basket, a nice gift basket, with a
- 23:21Speaker 2: little note that says, hey, this from your neighbors. Would
- 23:24Speaker 2: you mind mean name names.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I don't think house shoes will do the trick. I
- 23:27Speaker 3: think they stop so much. I don't know that cushioning
- 23:31Speaker 3: is the answer.
- 23:32Speaker 2: And at that point you're having, you're trying to get
- 23:35Speaker 2: them to do something that most humans a don't want
- 23:38Speaker 2: to do and be is very difficult to do. And
- 23:40Speaker 2: that's change a habit. They are so used to doing
- 23:43Speaker 2: what they're doing. You're not just trying, You're trying to
- 23:46Speaker 2: get them to change what they do on a regular basis,
- 23:49Speaker 2: change the habit. It's hard, It is hard.
- 23:53Speaker 1: And see you're I was thinking more high tech when
- 23:57Speaker 1: I started trying to think about solving the problem. Did
- 24:02Speaker 1: you read about how when when we went in and
- 24:05Speaker 1: invaded Venezuela to extra write their president, we did like
- 24:10Speaker 1: the sonic thing that made everyone you know crap and
- 24:12Speaker 1: Pugh can crap themselves. I was trying to see if
- 24:15Speaker 1: I could find one of those, like on eBay.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Trey that's ridiculous. You're gonna have to look on TMU.

- 25:17Speaker 2: today is Wednesday, August fifth, twenty twenty six. Let's celebrate
- 25:22Speaker 2: today with some birthdays. Lonnie Anderson best known as Jennifer
- 25:35Speaker 2: Marlowe on WKRP in Cincinnati is eighty one.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I thought she died.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I did too, brother. I'm going to click on this
- 25:44Speaker 2: just to see because usually usually my prep service is
- 25:48Speaker 2: good at letting us know if she's alive or dead.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah she died.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah she's dead. Yeah. Prep service screwed up because
- 25:54Speaker 2: even when I click on her name was an American actress, like, yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 2: I don't think she's still alive. Well she would have
- 25:59Speaker 2: been a one. Uh yeah. But honestly, it's it's really
- 26:05Speaker 2: just an excuse to be able to mention w KRP
- 26:09Speaker 2: in Cincinnati. It's one of the great all time sitcoms,
- 26:14Speaker 2: partly because it didn't center around a family like some
- 26:21Speaker 2: of the like. It was technically a family because they
- 26:24Speaker 2: all knew each other. But it's a situational comedy so
- 26:27Speaker 2: much so many sitcoms are always, you know, they're family based,
- 26:33Speaker 2: you know them all, they're all almost always family based,
- 26:35Speaker 2: are always in the home, right w kr and P
- 26:38Speaker 2: in Cincinnati was it's a radio station. And I'm trying
- 26:43Speaker 2: to think of any sort of situational comedies right now
- 26:47Speaker 2: that aren't family based. Mash one of the greatest sitcoms
- 26:51Speaker 2: of all time. Not only was that movie not set
- 26:55Speaker 2: in the middle of a family or a family home,
- 26:58Speaker 2: it was sit in the middle of a war. Yeah, Cheers,
- 27:02Speaker 2: Cheers was a bar. That's absolutely one of my favorite
- 27:06Speaker 2: shows of all time, and it was set in a bar.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I can't really think of many current situation like sitcoms
- 27:13Speaker 2: that that our occupation versus, you know, home.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Lonnie Anderson's either claim to fame married to Burt Reynolds exactly.
- 27:25Speaker 2: That's the other reason she and Burt Reynolds. Man, you
- 27:27Speaker 2: talk about the it couple for a while, woo man,
- 27:31Speaker 2: that was it? Uh. Jonathan Silverman is sixty. Jonathan Silverman
- 27:41Speaker 2: is sixty, So he had a good run on a sitcom.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I think it was just called single Life or a
- 27:47Speaker 2: Single Man or something single. It was on NBC for
- 27:50Speaker 2: a while. It was on like Before or After Friends.
- 27:56Speaker 1: That that must see TV block where almost anything would
- 28:02Speaker 1: would succeed.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're sandwiching it in between Friends and er
- 28:08Speaker 2: or like or at the front end of it. So, yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 2: Jonathan Silverman is sixty, But to me, he is best
- 28:14Speaker 2: known from his role and Weekend at Berney's. Yeah, So good,
- 28:20Speaker 2: such a great classic film. Also, I'd lived it for
- 28:23Speaker 2: a number of years. Jonathan Silverman is sixty other birthdays.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Today you've got Pat smear is sixty seven guitars for
- 28:35Speaker 2: the Foo Fighters, former member of Nirvana for obvious reasons,
- 28:39Speaker 2: and the Germs. He I don't know if I don't
- 28:47Speaker 2: know if that's actually his legal like government name, or
- 28:49Speaker 2: if that's just one he thought would be funny. I
- 28:53Speaker 2: don't really want to find out. I'm just gonna let
- 28:55Speaker 2: it be. Patrick Ewing is sixty four. Hall of Fame Center,
- 29:01Speaker 2: eleven time NBA All Star would have had at least
- 29:05Speaker 2: one ring if it wasn't for Michael effing Jordan. I
- 29:12Speaker 2: bet he's get I bet he gets two rings in
- 29:15Speaker 2: his career if it's not for Michael Jordan.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Probably.
- 29:21Speaker 2: And here's a name. Here's a name that I know
- 29:24Speaker 2: you're gonna know, but I know you have not thought
- 29:27Speaker 2: of it in a long time. Two time MLB All Star,
- 29:34Speaker 2: known for wearing a batting helmet while playing first base.
- 29:37Speaker 2: John Olerude is fifty eight. Wow, See, I knew you
- 29:42Speaker 2: would know who he was.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the name I have not heard in twenty
- 29:52Speaker 1: five years. Twenty I think you summed it up with yeah.
- 30:02Speaker 2: And he wasn't. I mean, he was an all star player.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I mean, like even here it said it was two
- 30:10Speaker 2: time All Star. I honestly got thought he was an
- 30:12Speaker 2: All Star more than that. I mean, you talk about
- 30:16Speaker 2: A list actors, B list actors, same thing with athletes.
- 30:20Speaker 2: This is a guy that was an a ish to
- 30:24Speaker 2: a B baseball player as far as notoriety, partly because
- 30:29Speaker 2: he was he played I think all of his career
- 30:31Speaker 2: in Toronto. But he was a solid player. Two. I
- 30:36Speaker 2: thought he was an All Star more than twice. But yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 2: but for some reason, he sticks out to me. And
- 30:41Speaker 2: it's and part of it's the helmet, but I don't know,
- 30:43Speaker 2: I just feel like he stuck out to me for
- 30:45Speaker 2: some reason.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I think you take the helmet gimmick away. I don't
- 30:48Speaker 3: know that.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Uh yeah, he's in that. He's in that realm of
- 30:58Speaker 1: There were much bigger names at the time. Baseball was
- 31:01Speaker 1: a bigger I mean in the macro. Baseball just simply
- 31:06Speaker 1: is not the sport it was twenty five thirty years ago.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I mean no, I mean, and honestly, and a lot
- 31:12Speaker 1: of it it's its own doing. And I hate to
- 31:15Speaker 1: say Russ was right about something. But yeah, they should
- 31:18Speaker 1: have just let him kept doing steroids because you know,
- 31:21Speaker 1: home run competitions. I mean, that was that was probably
- 31:25Speaker 1: the biggest time in baseball for the last thirty years,
- 31:27Speaker 1: when when you had Sosa and Maguire going after the
- 31:31Speaker 1: home run thing, and then and then Barry Bonds came
- 31:36Speaker 1: along and then you're like, hey, Crow magnum Man, your
- 31:38Speaker 1: head's grown.
- 31:42Speaker 2: It was one of the great before and after transformations
- 31:45Speaker 2: to look at Barry's rookie card and then to see
- 31:49Speaker 2: twenty years later he's better and bigger.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Well, then he.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Had the screwball way and this is you had the
- 31:56Speaker 1: list of the people that they thought we're doping, and
- 32:01Speaker 1: but they never released the list. They just occasionally leaked
- 32:03Speaker 1: the name and then that person would have to go
- 32:05Speaker 1: through all a Rod got caught up.
- 32:07Speaker 3: In it, I mean, and it's like all the players.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I don't know why they didn't just go, hey, it's
- 32:14Speaker 1: all good, just knock it off. If they really made
- 32:17Speaker 1: him stop, and why they won't let him in the
- 32:19Speaker 1: Hall of Fame, bs and everything else. It's like, my
- 32:24Speaker 1: argument with that is it wasn't an unfair advantage because
- 32:28Speaker 1: everyone was doing it.
- 32:30Speaker 2: That's true. Yeah, I mean at that point it and.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Yeah, especially he may be the biggest a hole walking,
- 32:39Speaker 1: but Barry Bonds was by far and away one of
- 32:42Speaker 1: the most phenomenal, especially when he started off in Pittsburgh.
- 32:45Speaker 1: He was a phenomenal player.
- 32:47Speaker 2: He was already five tool Yeah.
- 32:49Speaker 3: I mean he was.
- 32:51Speaker 1: He was an absolute Hall of Famer before he started juicing.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And I think he just got pissed off with the
- 32:58Speaker 1: notoriety that Sosa maguire were it, and you know, wanted
- 33:02Speaker 1: wanted some of.
- 33:02Speaker 2: It, and then he ended up with all of it.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I'll go yeah. And that's the other thing too. It's
- 33:10Speaker 2: like I will say this, I still think about as
- 33:14Speaker 2: you're talking about the steroid era. I still think about
- 33:18Speaker 2: that ninety eight season with Sammy Sosa, Mark McGuire, and
- 33:24Speaker 2: I still remember Mark McGuire breaking Maris' single season home
- 33:29Speaker 2: run record. He misses first base as he's rounding, and
- 33:33Speaker 2: he's so excited, has to go back and touch it.
- 33:36Speaker 2: And it makes my stomach turn because he was because
- 33:46Speaker 2: because at the time it was just the ultimate in
- 33:50Speaker 2: being betrayed as a fan, because like he's saying all
- 34:00Speaker 2: the things you're supposed to say, and he's doing all
- 34:03Speaker 2: the things you're supposed to do, and then eventually it
- 34:06Speaker 2: comes out that he was absolutely juicing. But here's the thing.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Had he just had he just been like, yeah, I
- 34:15Speaker 2: felt betrayed. I was young enough at the time and
- 34:18Speaker 2: still had enough hope in my body to be like, please,
- 34:24Speaker 2: let this be pure. And when it wasn't, that sort
- 34:29Speaker 2: of that house of cards crashed down a little bit
- 34:31Speaker 2: in my soul. It didn't change the fact that I
- 34:33Speaker 2: still love baseball, but it definitely changed on my view
- 34:38Speaker 2: of him. How like him hugging Roger Morris's family being
- 34:43Speaker 2: so close and it's just like, God, you're just you
- 34:47Speaker 2: fucking asshole.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but first of all, no one had thought about
- 34:55Speaker 1: Roger Marris in decades, and it was obvious as he
- 35:00Speaker 1: was juicing. If you had seen McGuire five years prior,
- 35:04Speaker 1: you knew what was going on. See I remember it
- 35:07Speaker 1: totally differently. I don't remember feeling portrayed. I remember how
- 35:12Speaker 1: exciting it was because it really didn't matter what you
- 35:15Speaker 1: were doing. They would break into whatever you were watching
- 35:18Speaker 1: when one of those guys went up to bat, and
- 35:21Speaker 1: everyone was I mean, it was a national thing. Everyone
- 35:25Speaker 1: was glued to it watching it. It was probably probably
- 35:30Speaker 1: the most exciting baseball season of my lifetime.
- 35:33Speaker 2: It was probably one of the most exciting things to
- 35:37Speaker 2: happen in baseball for the second half of the twentieth century.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, I.
- 35:45Speaker 2: It's hard to speak for some of the early twentieth century,
- 35:48Speaker 2: you know Yankees late Hank Aaron and that stuff, because
- 35:54Speaker 2: Hank Aaron was a solo deal man. He was he
- 35:57Speaker 2: was on that mission by himself, Mark mcga Iron Samy Sosa.
- 36:01Speaker 2: That competition drove it even further, made it so much
- 36:07Speaker 2: more interesting.
- 36:08Speaker 3: I screwed the last half of the twentieth century.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I would say it was the most exciting thing over
- 36:15Speaker 1: the last fifty years in baseball.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Oh current, the last current fifty years, gotcha? Yeah, I
- 36:23Speaker 2: would too.
- 36:25Speaker 3: You know.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I remember Ripken breaking the you know, the iron Man record,
- 36:28Speaker 1: and that was.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Cool, but.
- 36:32Speaker 2: That's a marathon thing.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:36Speaker 1: And the Rangers winning a World Series was the most
- 36:40Speaker 1: pleasant enough surprises. But I never thought I would see
- 36:45Speaker 1: that after the twenty ten to twenty eleven just absolute employees,
- 36:50Speaker 1: especially the Saint like like, there's the sports I will
- 36:54Speaker 1: hate Nelly Cruz till I go to my grave for
- 36:59Speaker 1: absolutely losing the twenty eleven World Series.
- 37:05Speaker 3: But take the fandom out of it.
- 37:07Speaker 1: The McGuire Sosa thing was the most exciting thing in
- 37:10Speaker 1: baseball in the last fifty years.
- 37:12Speaker 2: And that's part of the reason I've felt so betrayed
- 37:14Speaker 2: by it. It's because I same as you. I remember
- 37:17Speaker 2: all the excitement, the fun and seeing my favorite sport
- 37:21Speaker 2: at the time getting recognition, and I was like, God,
- 37:25Speaker 2: this is great. And then and then and then, and
- 37:30Speaker 2: then the truth comes out. You're just like you, you've guys,
- 37:38Speaker 2: and and so I'm able to separate it a little
- 37:41Speaker 2: bit and think about the happy times kind of like
- 37:43Speaker 2: in a relationship, You're like, you know what, we had
- 37:45Speaker 2: some really good times and then the bitch cheated on me.
- 37:51Speaker 2: That's how I felt with the McGuire Sosa thing.
- 37:57Speaker 1: You know, typically that stuff it really sours the whole
- 37:59Speaker 1: ex for me that I'm glad you can separate it out.
- 38:07Speaker 2: We know it. We had some really good times and
- 38:09Speaker 2: until I saw her on a video on blacks dot com.

- 38:50Speaker 2: let's stir up some controversy. A gen Zer has sparked
- 38:56Speaker 2: outrage after declaring she wants to marry Rich. And this
- 39:02Speaker 2: is yet another example of gen Z thinking they've discovered
- 39:05Speaker 2: something that we've all known for a really long time.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Outrage from whom because now this is one thing I
- 39:15Speaker 1: better not see any gen xers because it's not like
- 39:18Speaker 1: this is a novel concept.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Absolutely it's not. I mean, if we're being straightforward, if
- 39:24Speaker 2: we're being honest, this is the oldest profession, except in
- 39:29Speaker 2: this case it's more on the amateur level.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Yeah, this is this is a tale as old as time.
- 39:37Speaker 2: It is. I want to marry Rich did not work?
- 39:41Speaker 2: Duh h. So gen Z has sparked online outrage after
- 39:47Speaker 2: declaring she wants to marry Rich and not work.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Cinderella isn't a great story. If you know it's
- 39:54Speaker 1: a poor guy.
- 39:55Speaker 3: On the other end of.
- 39:56Speaker 2: It, yeah, he's not a cobbler, which, considering how she
- 40:09Speaker 2: lost a shoe, maybe she should have gone that rot.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Gender stereotypes have come a long way, but that isn't
- 40:15Speaker 2: to say that in twenty twenty six, some women are
- 40:18Speaker 2: just fine giving up their careers to marry rich to
- 40:22Speaker 2: never work another day in their lives. In a forum
- 40:26Speaker 2: on Reddit, one twenty year old decided to do just that.
- 40:31Speaker 2: She described herself as an ambitious person who was studying
- 40:34Speaker 2: to become a dentist, yet had recently had a change
- 40:37Speaker 2: of heart and decided life is too short to spend
- 40:40Speaker 2: it stressed and working. This is a great example of
- 40:46Speaker 2: a young person's mindset and not thinking ahead. She thinks
- 40:51Speaker 2: life is too short to spend it stressed and working.
- 40:54Speaker 2: The thing is, though, if you marry rich and don't work,
- 40:58Speaker 2: you will work every day of your life. You, you,
- 41:03Speaker 2: in that scenario, are not really a person. You're an asset.
- 41:08Speaker 2: You're a thing, You're a trophy, You're basically you are
- 41:18Speaker 2: a You're a talking sex doll. And that's if you're
- 41:21Speaker 2: allowed to talk. It depends on the guy you get with.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Well, nine out of ten times when you see an
- 41:29Speaker 1: a lopsided relationship when it comes to looks age something
- 41:32Speaker 1: like that, there's a reason for it. And a lot
- 41:34Speaker 1: of it has to do with dollar signs. And you know,
- 41:38Speaker 1: I can name countless places in Dallas that for years,
- 41:44Speaker 1: Highland Park Village to Javier's Cigar Bar have been a
- 41:49Speaker 1: absolute trap of young single women going there looking to
- 41:54Speaker 1: find a successful guy.
- 41:56Speaker 3: That they can meet and hopefully marry. This is this
- 42:00Speaker 3: is not new.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Uh, it's just not typically said out loud.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I guess it's more.
- 42:08Speaker 2: I think it was more of just sort of an
- 42:09Speaker 2: understood thing. But so by this young woman declaring it
- 42:14Speaker 2: to the world, going on Reddit and saying this is
- 42:16Speaker 2: what I'm gonna do, then you open yourself up to
- 42:19Speaker 2: criticism from other people. People that'll be like, how dare you?
- 42:23Speaker 2: You're you're just you're reinforcing gender stereotypes and blah blah
- 42:26Speaker 2: blah blah blah. Well, yeah she is, but it's also
- 42:28Speaker 2: her life. If that's what she really wants to do,
- 42:31Speaker 2: she'll find a sucker. Well I mean she'll be the sucker,
- 42:34Speaker 2: but she'll find a guy willing to enter into this relationship.
- 42:37Speaker 1: I don't I don't know that I agree with the
- 42:39Speaker 1: gender stereotypes because I know plenty of guys if if
- 42:42Speaker 1: they could find a wealthy woman, they'd be more than
- 42:47Speaker 1: happy to uh, you know, there's some trade offs there,
- 42:50Speaker 1: but uh, a nice comfy life, Yeah, I think they'd
- 42:53Speaker 1: take that.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I think I think you jump on that.
- 42:59Speaker 3: It would certainly give me something to think about.
- 43:03Speaker 2: How much are we talking? Yeah, you're right, you're doing
- 43:07Speaker 2: all these things now in your life that would make
- 43:09Speaker 2: you a hell of a catch for a nice, rich
- 43:10Speaker 2: older lady.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I am a good house husband.
- 43:14Speaker 2: You cook, you clean, and you all night. But you
- 43:20Speaker 2: need to be aware of the gym penis. Okay, sorry
- 43:25Speaker 2: to bring the room down, but I mean, if you're
- 43:26Speaker 2: going to be a good house husband, this is something
- 43:28Speaker 2: to consider when I when I say to you, Jim
- 43:32Speaker 2: Penis is real. What do you think, Jim Penis is?
- 43:38Speaker 3: I haven't a clue.
- 43:40Speaker 2: I didn't either. Early one, sure, I was like, what, like, like,
- 43:43Speaker 2: if you're doing squats or something, it turns a weird way.
- 43:45Speaker 2: I mean, I've I've worked out in gyms now for
- 43:49Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm about to do math like thirty years. Yeah,
- 43:54Speaker 2: I don't really recall it. Thinking, hey, what's going on
- 43:57Speaker 2: with my wiener while I'm at the gym. Well, well,
- 44:00Speaker 2: at least not in an abnormal way.
- 44:06Speaker 1: All right, now I can kind of think about it.
- 44:09Speaker 1: So I'm gonna assume it has to do with blood flow,
- 44:14Speaker 1: and it's not going to.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Specific areas, that is correct. Jim penis is the opposite
- 44:22Speaker 2: of the pump. Most of us go to the gym
- 44:25Speaker 2: to get a pump, right, You get your biceps big,
- 44:27Speaker 2: your chest looks good, your back looks good, your legs
- 44:29Speaker 2: look good. Do your legs? Boys? Jim penis is the opposite.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Because you've pumped up everything else, your wiener is losing out.
- 44:39Speaker 2: So Jim penis has to do with shrinkage in the area.
- 44:46Speaker 3: See, and maybe this is just me.
- 44:51Speaker 1: First of all, I have never looked at my dick
- 44:55Speaker 1: before or after a workout and.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Gone, well, what happened?
- 44:58Speaker 4: Uh?
- 44:59Speaker 1: I always think I look really crappy after I leave
- 45:03Speaker 1: the gym. And you know, yeah you might if you've
- 45:09Speaker 1: done chess or something, you might have you know, a
- 45:12Speaker 1: little swollen as it were. But in general, it's like
- 45:17Speaker 1: your body is all out of whack and you've been
- 45:20Speaker 1: sweating your ass off and so nothing nothing looks great.
- 45:23Speaker 1: It takes you know, a couple hours later you look better,
- 45:25Speaker 1: next day look better.
- 45:27Speaker 2: But yeah, who.
- 45:33Speaker 1: See it's stuff like this, and now I go, Okay,
- 45:36Speaker 1: there are guys that are going to the gym and
- 45:38Speaker 1: then they're you know, looking down their pants, going what happened?
- 45:42Speaker 3: Okay, you're not doing a dick bell.
- 45:46Speaker 2: I swear to god, though, if that was an option,
- 45:48Speaker 2: that twenty four hour fitness, they'd be lined up.
- 45:51Speaker 3: I'm sure that. Yeah.
- 45:52Speaker 2: But if it makes if it was to make it
- 45:54Speaker 2: bigger like your chest, absolutely no guy would miss. If
- 45:58Speaker 2: no guy would miss dick day.
- 46:00Speaker 1: No, I mean, if there were a proven way to
- 46:03Speaker 1: make things bigger, the gym would be twenty there would
- 46:07Speaker 1: be a line out the door twenty four to seven,
- 46:09Speaker 1: and that that machine would be the hottest machine you
- 46:11Speaker 1: could find.
- 46:12Speaker 2: I mean for men and women. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, do.
- 46:21Speaker 3: You have a lot of money, get your ass in there.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Come on, that's right, you're so. It'd it'd be a
- 46:27Speaker 2: nice change for the ladies at the gym instead of
- 46:28Speaker 2: them wearing tight clothes and being recorded. Then the guys
- 46:31Speaker 2: will start wearing tight clothes and they can start recording
- 46:33Speaker 2: us on the dick push man.
- 46:37Speaker 1: There would be like an assembly line of Dick machine
- 46:45Speaker 1: tan bed shower women waiting.
