- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to bill Handle on demand from KFI A
- 0:04Speaker 1: M six forty. You are listening to the Bill Handle show.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'll sell never Goobya the Charmer June I'll see.
- 0:27Speaker 1: KFI AM six forty handle here and good morning on
- 0:32Speaker 1: a Monday morning, June twenty two. Hang on a minute.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm trying to get my head said, he got caught in.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Sometimes you get gets caught up in my chair because
- 0:44Speaker 1: it's okay, because the cord is over there in the
- 0:47Speaker 1: wrong place. Okay, where was I Oh, we're in the
- 0:49Speaker 1: middle of a show, right, yes, now. Los Angeles School
- 0:54Speaker 1: Superintendent Alberto Carvallo resigned. Done, he's out the door. And
- 1:01Speaker 1: this followed that FBI raid on his home and office,
- 1:04Speaker 1: if you remember, and it's tied to contracts with the district,
- 1:09Speaker 1: including and this is probably the biggest, the biggest story
- 1:14Speaker 1: of the school district in which there may be some wrongdoing.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It includes this failed AI chatbox venture, and Carvallo insists
- 1:26Speaker 1: he committed no wrongdoing, and he has not yet been
- 1:31Speaker 1: even accused of wrongdoing, but he is certainly accused of
- 1:35Speaker 1: being involved with the selection of this company which failed miserably.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So Carvallo resigns yesterday, and the letter went out to
- 1:45Speaker 1: the school district, and it went out to whoever else
- 1:50Speaker 1: was involved, teachers, administrators, et cetera. And usually, much like
- 1:56Speaker 1: these letters, start it has been a great honor to
- 1:59Speaker 1: serve you, and he began that in the letter. He
- 2:01Speaker 1: addressed it to students' families, teachers, staff, community of LAUSD.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Probably delivered only the school district. And over the past
- 2:09Speaker 1: four years we have made historic progress. Now why did
- 2:14Speaker 1: he resign? Doesn't stay in the letter, and he made
- 2:17Speaker 1: no mention of the early morning. FBI rated his home
- 2:21Speaker 1: and the district office back in February, and as soon
- 2:25Speaker 1: as that happened, the school board put him on paid
- 2:30Speaker 1: leave and they put an acting superintendent. So at this
- 2:35Speaker 1: point we don't know whether his departure comes with a
- 2:38Speaker 1: negotiated settlement. Usually that's the case. His contract sets up
- 2:43Speaker 1: a twelve month payout if the district terminates his employment
- 2:48Speaker 1: without cause. I don't know if he gets anywhere near
- 2:52Speaker 1: that money based on his resignation. And so the federal investigation,
- 2:57Speaker 1: this is the one that's most controversial, is tied at
- 3:01Speaker 1: least in part to Carvallo's interaction with a subcontractor that
- 3:06Speaker 1: brought in a failed AI chatbox venture to the district. Again,
- 3:12Speaker 1: as attorney said, no, absolutely, no wrongdoing, and he also
- 3:17Speaker 1: said in March he wanted to return to work, and
- 3:20Speaker 1: no surprise, his resignation letter focused on his achievements, citing
- 3:25Speaker 1: wildly noted whyly noted gains and state test scores. True,
- 3:29Speaker 1: a record graduation rate that went from five percent to
- 3:32Speaker 1: six percent. That's, by the way, I'm exaggerating. There improved
- 3:37Speaker 1: records on the advanced placement courses and the tests. And
- 3:43Speaker 1: here is part of the controversy, I think, not so
- 3:46Speaker 1: much in terms of resignation, but just in terms of
- 3:49Speaker 1: the controversy. Low income students, students with disabilities, foster youth,
- 3:54Speaker 1: and black and Latino students all exceeded their pre pandemic performance.
- 4:00Speaker 1: The school district, well, California in general, of course, has
- 4:04Speaker 1: been in a fight with a Trump administration because it's California.
- 4:09Speaker 1: LAUSD is in its own fight, specifically because of the
- 4:15Speaker 1: accusation that it is a racist district, because it gives
- 4:20Speaker 1: more emphasis helping minority students and students with disabilities. And
- 4:25Speaker 1: therein lies a lawsuit that has been filed on top
- 4:29Speaker 1: of that money has been withheld or threatened to be
- 4:31Speaker 1: withheld because of the emphasis on DEI and racial minorities
- 4:38Speaker 1: being helped and not doing as well, and they're trying
- 4:40Speaker 1: to undo that. And that has been the case for
- 4:43Speaker 1: a very long time with the district. The district has
- 4:48Speaker 1: been four years mainly a minority school district because a
- 4:54Speaker 1: lot mainly Hispanic kids. Because I don't know how many
- 4:59Speaker 1: children undocumented people. They can't ask and any kid who
- 5:05Speaker 1: is here by law has to get a free public
- 5:08Speaker 1: education right through high school and cannot be asked is
- 5:12Speaker 1: there an illegality involved here? What we do know is
- 5:16Speaker 1: that there are a majority of students in the school
- 5:19Speaker 1: district that are either minority and or disabled. And the
- 5:24Speaker 1: disability that's an interesting story and of itself. They used
- 5:28Speaker 1: to have special schools. When I went to school, there
- 5:31Speaker 1: were schools that were specifically built and run by the
- 5:34Speaker 1: district four kids who had disabilities. They had the ramps,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and they had the teachers who were trained and specifically
- 5:42Speaker 1: dealing with the disabled kids, and then they had to
- 5:46Speaker 1: mainstream it. There was a lawsuit where kids had to
- 5:48Speaker 1: be mainstreamed into the regular classrooms and that caused a
- 5:53Speaker 1: lot of controversy. So at this point there are two
- 5:57Speaker 1: fights going on. One with this AI box company that
- 6:01Speaker 1: went under his connection to that, although I don't know
- 6:05Speaker 1: how much he was involved in actually selecting the company.
- 6:08Speaker 1: We're gonna find out. We have not gotten much news
- 6:11Speaker 1: about this at all, and under what circumstances he's leaving.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And then for those people that are bitching and owning
- 6:19Speaker 1: about my god, four hundred and forty thousand dollars, what
- 6:23Speaker 1: a salary for a public employee? And I come back
- 6:27Speaker 1: and I say, the guy is running a multi billion
- 6:31Speaker 1: dollar school district. Show me any bureaucracy where it's in
- 6:38Speaker 1: the billions of expenses or and or revenue, and tell
- 6:42Speaker 1: me if the CEO doesn't get more than four hundred
- 6:44Speaker 1: and forty thousand dollars. All right, Oh, is this a
- 6:47Speaker 1: fun story. They're reflecting pool fiasco, this the bacle. Now,
- 6:52Speaker 1: big picture doesn't mean very much. We're talking fourteen million
- 6:56Speaker 1: bucks and maybe a couple of million more. I mean,
- 6:58Speaker 1: they're much much bigger fish to fry. For example, the
- 7:04Speaker 1: budget for defense, which is trillion dollars, and the President said, nah,
- 7:08Speaker 1: that's not enough. We'll give you another three hundred billion also,
- 7:12Speaker 1: what seventy billion dollars to immigration and border patrol. No,
- 7:17Speaker 1: this is really small, but man, the political fallout has
- 7:21Speaker 1: been incredible. This has to do with the reflecting pool,
- 7:25Speaker 1: that long pool between the Lincoln Monument and the Washington Monument,
- 7:31Speaker 1: and it's it's, I guess, you know, a fairly big
- 7:37Speaker 1: national monument. And the President didn't like the color of
- 7:40Speaker 1: the water. So what he did, he said, we're going
- 7:43Speaker 1: to make the water blue. And the way you make
- 7:46Speaker 1: the water blue is you paint the bottom of the pool. Okay,
- 7:51Speaker 1: And so he drains the pool and paints the bottom
- 7:54Speaker 1: of the pool. And within two weeks, and he had
- 7:57Speaker 1: a press conference said this is going to last fifty
- 7:59Speaker 1: to one hundred. Well within two weeks, what happens, Parts
- 8:03Speaker 1: of it turned green. Why is that because of algae
- 8:09Speaker 1: that has growing like crazy. Now, when the algae first
- 8:13Speaker 1: came up and it was green, the President said, no,
- 8:15Speaker 1: this is blue. And that's kind of interesting because in
- 8:19Speaker 1: the world of Trump, if he says it's blue, then
- 8:22Speaker 1: it is blue certainly among his supporters. Okay, So once
- 8:27Speaker 1: the green started showing up, this algae bloom, president couldn't
- 8:32Speaker 1: say after that it is still blue. So what he
- 8:36Speaker 1: said is the algae can be fixed immediately, and it
- 8:41Speaker 1: just has to do with the plumbing system that was
- 8:45Speaker 1: previously put in and it wasn't taken care of by
- 8:48Speaker 1: the previous administration. Okay, well that turned out not to
- 8:51Speaker 1: be true, and then so now he has to say, yeah, okay,
- 8:56Speaker 1: that's not the point. Now the paint itself is peeling.
- 9:01Speaker 1: There are and I saw this video and I'm sure
- 9:03Speaker 1: you did too. A reporter literally reach his hand into
- 9:07Speaker 1: the bottom of the pool. It's only about what half
- 9:11Speaker 1: of the knee of water, not even knee high, reaches
- 9:16Speaker 1: in and pulls out a big sheet of blue paint
- 9:20Speaker 1: that has been solidified. It looked like a blue sheet
- 9:23Speaker 1: and pulls that out because the paint is peeling from
- 9:27Speaker 1: the bottom. Well, at this point there is now visual
- 9:31Speaker 1: proof paint is peeling, algae bloom and a couple of
- 9:35Speaker 1: times the government has had people come in to try
- 9:38Speaker 1: to ameliorate, big vacuum cleaners trying to suck up the algae,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and that didn't work. So what's left, I mean, was
- 9:49Speaker 1: it in competence that a company was chosen, by the
- 9:54Speaker 1: way the company was got a contract for redoing the pool,
- 9:58Speaker 1: fourteen million dollar contra. Originally I was slated to be
- 10:01Speaker 1: a million eight or two million dollars, fourteen million dollars
- 10:04Speaker 1: no bid contract for a company owned by another company
- 10:12Speaker 1: that is owned. I believe that there's two sets of
- 10:16Speaker 1: companies here, and the company that owns everything is run
- 10:21Speaker 1: by a follower and a big supporter of President Trump.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Is there a connection, I don't know, but I'll tell
- 10:29Speaker 1: you what is happening is this thing is incompetent that
- 10:32Speaker 1: put down this the paint. I mean, there's no and
- 10:36Speaker 1: they didn't know what they are doing. This is a
- 10:38Speaker 1: company that had no business doing it, but no bid,
- 10:42Speaker 1: no bid contract. Already the President saying I had nothing
- 10:45Speaker 1: to do with that, and I believe that. By the way,
- 10:47Speaker 1: I don't think he makes those choices of companies. So
- 10:50Speaker 1: where do you go from here? Where do you go? Well,
- 10:55Speaker 1: you can't take the blame yourself. The administration cannot accept
- 10:59Speaker 1: the blame claim that the wrong contractor was chosen. So
- 11:04Speaker 1: where do you go? It's sabotage. Vandals came in and
- 11:10Speaker 1: sabotaged it. And the President said it is definitely the Democrats.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Somehow we're involved in this. Five people have been arrested
- 11:22Speaker 1: for vandalism of government property, which is in some cases
- 11:26Speaker 1: a felony. And one person who was arrested for I
- 11:31Speaker 1: guess reaching down and pulling up one of these sheets
- 11:36Speaker 1: was arrested and let go five hours later. So we'll
- 11:40Speaker 1: see what happens. Remember Komi also was indicted. Nothing there,
- 11:44Speaker 1: Letitia James, nothing there. And I think you're going to
- 11:47Speaker 1: see the same thing. We've arrested five people, and then
- 11:51Speaker 1: it's going to go away. Then it's going to go away.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And it is a deflection. It's a deflection of a
- 11:58Speaker 1: reflection pool. See that's not bad. So it's just now
- 12:05Speaker 1: the big deal here is just the politics of it.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It's the politics without the administration simply saying yeah, we
- 12:11Speaker 1: blew it. Yeah they put the wrong paint down, we
- 12:14Speaker 1: chose the wrong company. That's impossible. So what ends up
- 12:18Speaker 1: happening is there is vandalism here. The enemies. Why enemies
- 12:25Speaker 1: have done this, and you're going to see these people
- 12:29Speaker 1: and to prove it, we have arrested people. Why didn't
- 12:32Speaker 1: they arrest the reporter that also pulled the blue sheets
- 12:35Speaker 1: off the bottom. They only arrested this former olympian who
- 12:39Speaker 1: did this, and this is what's going to get interesting
- 12:44Speaker 1: about this, And of course the political fallout is tremendous.
- 12:48Speaker 1: The detractions of President Trump are making a huge deal
- 12:51Speaker 1: about this, the supporters of President Trump are downplaying. It
- 12:56Speaker 1: is very small potatoes. And the issue of algae. A
- 13:01Speaker 1: couple things that I said earlier is algae stores are
- 13:05Speaker 1: now out of a product where people all over the
- 13:09Speaker 1: country MAGA supporters are buying algae and putting in their
- 13:13Speaker 1: pools as a solidary move. If the president has algae,
- 13:18Speaker 1: we have algae. By the way, none of that is true.
- 13:21Speaker 1: That's a cheap political hit because I'm such a fan
- 13:25Speaker 1: of the president. Okay, enough of that. Dodgers. Your official
- 13:30Speaker 1: home for Dodger Baseball is AM five seventy LA Sports,
- 13:34Speaker 1: And this afternoon, you're back to back World champion Dodgers,
- 13:38Speaker 1: hopefully back to back to back. And if we're lucky
- 13:42Speaker 1: back to back to back to back, and if we're
- 13:44Speaker 1: really lucky back to back to back to back to back,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and if we're insanely intergalactic, no, that's okay, we'll just
- 13:52Speaker 1: stop at that point. They take on the Twins to
- 13:54Speaker 1: Minnesota with the first pitch at four forty Listen on
- 13:58Speaker 1: the AM five seventy eight sports and streaming on the
- 14:01Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app live from the gallupin Ford broadcast booth. So
- 14:07Speaker 1: Gaalpin went all the way to Minnesota to build a
- 14:10Speaker 1: broadcast booth. Pretty impressive, I must tell you, not bad
- 14:14Speaker 1: all right. On Friday, I talked about the fiasco with
- 14:20Speaker 1: a new big ballroom, a big, beautiful ballroom in Washington,
- 14:25Speaker 1: d C. Affixed to the White House, which a lot
- 14:29Speaker 1: of people are upset about, as I am, because it
- 14:31Speaker 1: changes the appearance, changes the footprint, changes everything about the
- 14:35Speaker 1: White House. And so there was a lot of controversy.
- 14:39Speaker 1: The President said, originally two hundred million dollars all private donations,
- 14:44Speaker 1: no tax money, four hundred million dollars all private donation,
- 14:47Speaker 1: no tax money. And now we're looking at a billion
- 14:50Speaker 1: dollars of tax money that's being used for the infrastructure, underneath,
- 14:57Speaker 1: security issues, underneath the ballroom. You can argue that it
- 15:02Speaker 1: is necessary. Okay, I'll buy that. Now, somehow the ballroom
- 15:06Speaker 1: is going to be thrown into this thing. It's gotten insane.
- 15:09Speaker 1: So where is the controversy with Obama and the Obama
- 15:15Speaker 1: Presidential Library. Now, presidential libraries are not paid for by government. Taxpayers.
- 15:22Speaker 1: They are private donations. And presidential libraries now are so
- 15:27Speaker 1: expensive they're one hundred million, two hundred million dollars. Except
- 15:31Speaker 1: the Obama Presidential Library, how about eight hundred and fifty
- 15:38Speaker 1: million dollars. It was supposed to come in a lot
- 15:43Speaker 1: for a lot less than that. So where is the
- 15:47Speaker 1: real controversy? And I think it has to do with
- 15:49Speaker 1: the tax dollars more than anything else, federal money that's
- 15:54Speaker 1: being used. And I compared this to the ballroom. Now
- 16:01Speaker 1: the president has our current president has not yet decided.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I didn't think where were the president where his presidential
- 16:07Speaker 1: library is going to be? And I do believe it
- 16:10Speaker 1: will be private donations that build the library. Now, how
- 16:14Speaker 1: about infrastructure. This is where Obama really went nuts on this,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and that is the public infrastructure, to the tune of
- 16:23Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty million dollars. Roads have to be
- 16:26Speaker 1: redone for the most part, buildings have to be either removed,
- 16:32Speaker 1: people have to be moved because it took such a
- 16:34Speaker 1: large footprint. And the only real controversy about the presidential
- 16:40Speaker 1: library of Donald Trump. Remember that seven forty seventh, the
- 16:44Speaker 1: one that was just announced and was shown the new
- 16:48Speaker 1: presidential plane Air Force one. Well, that was given to
- 16:53Speaker 1: I guess President Trump personally or given the United States,
- 16:57Speaker 1: And part of the gift was that after the president
- 17:02Speaker 1: leaves office, the whole thing goes to his presidential library.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Now is that the end of the world. No, because
- 17:11Speaker 1: you've got, for example, the two Air Force ones went
- 17:15Speaker 1: to presidential libraries. But after they were talking about the
- 17:18Speaker 1: old seven o sal at the seven sevens that were
- 17:21Speaker 1: retired before the current seven forty sevens came into operation
- 17:26Speaker 1: those thirty years ago. And so no question, the new
- 17:30Speaker 1: we need a new Air Force one. The president needs
- 17:33Speaker 1: a new Air Force one. And two of them are
- 17:35Speaker 1: in fact being refurbished, bought by the government from Boeing,
- 17:42Speaker 1: and then hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent
- 17:45Speaker 1: because Boeing just sells the chassis. Here you go have
- 17:47Speaker 1: an airplane, and then you've got Now, there are certain
- 17:51Speaker 1: things that they do that are really expensive. The wiring,
- 17:55Speaker 1: for example, has to be hardened against nuclear explosions or
- 17:59Speaker 1: all out or radiation and so there and then the
- 18:04Speaker 1: government spends a fortune. And that's exactly what has happened
- 18:09Speaker 1: with this plane from Qatar or Cutter that went to
- 18:15Speaker 1: the government and then transfers to the Presidential Library of
- 18:19Speaker 1: Donald Trump after his term is over. The big issue
- 18:24Speaker 1: is hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money to
- 18:28Speaker 1: bring the Air Force one to the point where it
- 18:32Speaker 1: should be with the kind of security, hundreds of millions
- 18:34Speaker 1: of dollars, which is going to be used for two years,
- 18:38Speaker 1: two years, and then it goes. The old Air Force
- 18:41Speaker 1: ones are thirty years until they have been retired. So
- 18:46Speaker 1: that is a huge controversy so far with the Presidential
- 18:50Speaker 1: Library as Donald Trump's library. Now. Previous segment I talked
- 18:56Speaker 1: about the difference between the well in this case, the
- 19:01Speaker 1: Obama Presidential Center and the big ballroom, big beautiful ballroom
- 19:07Speaker 1: the president is building, and that has all kinds of
- 19:10Speaker 1: controversy because it turns out it's not private donations. It's
- 19:14Speaker 1: going to be public money. It's going to build it,
- 19:16Speaker 1: certainly most of it to the tune of a billion dollars.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So now people are looking at the Obama Presidential Library,
- 19:25Speaker 1: which private donations because public donation, public tax money does
- 19:31Speaker 1: not pay for presidential libraries. And the problem is, okay,
- 19:37Speaker 1: we didn't use tax dollars. Well, there are plenty of
- 19:41Speaker 1: tax dollars involved to support the surrounding infrastructure, and there's
- 19:48Speaker 1: some allegations of failure to pay contractors and even a
- 19:51Speaker 1: lawsuit alleging racial discrimination. So let's talk about the racial
- 19:56Speaker 1: discrimination lawsuits. The presidential Library, the Obama present fidential library,
- 20:01Speaker 1: is full of DEI aspects of it. I mean full
- 20:06Speaker 1: of it, A lot of civil rights stuff, a lot
- 20:09Speaker 1: of African American history. The president in this case is
- 20:14Speaker 1: making and the presidential Library is making a huge deal
- 20:18Speaker 1: of the first black president and a lot of African
- 20:22Speaker 1: American stuff being thrown in there. And the accusation is
- 20:25Speaker 1: this is DEI. Well it's a private library, so you know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: that's what it is. You can bitch and own about it,
- 20:30Speaker 1: but that's what it is. The big issue here, tax dollars,
- 20:35Speaker 1: nothing more than nothing less. One of the fun stories
- 20:37Speaker 1: I want to share with you is when the president
- 20:39Speaker 1: first became president, this is Obama, and he was asked
- 20:42Speaker 1: by a reporter his first interview, and the reporter said,
- 20:48Speaker 1: you were the first black president, and did you really
- 20:52Speaker 1: understand that, you own that, did you feel it the
- 20:55Speaker 1: history being made? Because yeah, about ten minutes and then
- 20:59Speaker 1: I am city behind the desk and I get to
- 21:02Speaker 1: govern a country. Okay, so I mean this thing is insane.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Now again, tax dollars involved, yes, Chicago tax dollars, Illinois
- 21:16Speaker 1: tax dollars are involved in the infrastructure. It's actually not
- 21:21Speaker 1: just a building the way the other presidential libraries are
- 21:24Speaker 1: with some surrounding grounds. It is a full campus with
- 21:30Speaker 1: recreation centers and a park and a bunch of buildings
- 21:35Speaker 1: in addition to the actual Presidential library itself. And if
- 21:38Speaker 1: you've see seen that building, that huge tall building with
- 21:44Speaker 1: there is a statement that surrounds it. Amy, what is
- 21:49Speaker 1: do you know what that statement is? Around the Obama Library?
- 21:54Speaker 1: What does it say around which library? The Obama Library?
- 22:00Speaker 1: You know, at the top of the building itself, or
- 22:04Speaker 1: there was a saying on it that was put on there.
- 22:07Speaker 3: You know you're trying to catch me because I've been
- 22:08Speaker 3: on vacation and not paying attention.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I'm just curious, all right. No, No, I don't expect you
- 22:12Speaker 1: to know that. I know you're going to look it
- 22:14Speaker 1: up because I don't know it.
- 22:15Speaker 3: You are America, unconstrained by habit and convention, unencumbered by
- 22:20Speaker 3: what is, ready to seize what ought to be for
- 22:23Speaker 3: everywhere in this country. There are first steps to be taken,
- 22:26Speaker 3: there is new ground to cover, there are more bridges
- 22:30Speaker 3: to be crossed.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So they wrote war in peace on that building. Okay,
- 22:35Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, that's a lot. That's a lot of language,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but it's kind of interesting the way it's done. In
- 22:42Speaker 1: any case, the issue is not the library itself. It
- 22:47Speaker 1: is the tax dollars, and it is Illinois money, and
- 22:50Speaker 1: it is Chicago money. You know what. You can bitch
- 22:54Speaker 1: all you want as far as I'm concerned. It's Chicagoans
- 22:57Speaker 1: that have the complaint. It's the Illinois taxpayers that have
- 23:03Speaker 1: that complaint. It's a local issue over there. It's not
- 23:06Speaker 1: federal dollars. It's not your tax money. It's not my
- 23:10Speaker 1: tax money. If you have to live in Chicago, okay,
- 23:13Speaker 1: you gotta you have a case. So also there's a
- 23:17Speaker 1: lot of controversy to different issues. One controversy has to
- 23:21Speaker 1: do with the DEI partner's lawsuits filed. It's discriminatory. You
- 23:25Speaker 1: don't talk enough about white people. What you do is
- 23:28Speaker 1: concentrate on gay people and African Americans minorities. Let white
- 23:34Speaker 1: people who are we chopped liver. And that is the
- 23:38Speaker 1: basic premise. And lawsuits and the arguments that the Trump
- 23:42Speaker 1: administration is making. And then there's some issue as to
- 23:46Speaker 1: contractors haven't been paid and therefore the Obama Center has
- 23:50Speaker 1: to be responsible for that, and they come back and say, no,
- 23:53Speaker 1: the general contractor, we hired the general. It's not our
- 23:56Speaker 1: job to look at subcontractors and look at their contract
- 24:00Speaker 1: with the subs. So there is some controversy there, But
- 24:05Speaker 1: isn't there always controversy. You're going to see the Presidential
- 24:09Speaker 1: Library Donald Trump. That the big controverty is going to
- 24:12Speaker 1: be that airplane that was given to the government of
- 24:16Speaker 1: the people. But part of the deal was as soon
- 24:18Speaker 1: as Trump stops being president, it transfers over to the
- 24:21Speaker 1: Presidential Library. And four hundred million dollars of taxpayer money
- 24:25Speaker 1: was used to upgrade the new Air Force one and
- 24:30Speaker 1: all we get four It is two years of work.
- 24:33Speaker 1: So everybody has a bunch of complaints. I don't think
- 24:37Speaker 1: there's a federal building at all involved with complaints. A
- 24:41Speaker 1: big one though. That Presidential ballroom, that's a big one
- 24:44Speaker 1: on a bunch of levels, the aesthetics of it, the
- 24:47Speaker 1: changing of the facade of a White House, the cost,
- 24:51Speaker 1: how ornate it's going to be, as I've said, I mean,
- 24:54Speaker 1: the inside of it is the gold and the marble.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's going to look like an Iranian whorehouse. And that's
- 25:02Speaker 1: the bottom line, you know, and nothing understate. That's it.
- 25:06Speaker 1: This is where the president is going to go down
- 25:09Speaker 1: in history. He will go down in history known for
- 25:13Speaker 1: his understated elegance. Okay, we are done, guys, coming up
- 25:22Speaker 1: faster elections not in California. Oh, there's a lot of
- 25:26Speaker 1: complaint and a lot of controversy there, and I will
- 25:30Speaker 1: explain it's all because of the rules of our elections.
