877 The Shelter of the Most High - Psalm 91
Wednesday, October 28th: Psalm 91 offers one of Scripture’s most comforting pictures of God as our refuge, fortress, and shelter. It does not promise that faithful believers will never experience suffering, danger, or death. Even the devil quoted this psalm while tempting Jesus to create danger and force God to prove His protection. The promise at the heart of the psalm is not that trouble will never come, but that God will be with His people in trouble. Because Jesus has conquered death, suffering cannot finally remove us from God’s presence or cancel His purpose.
