- 0:03Enough is enough. I don't have any series suck and we hold the world
- 0:09ransom for excuse me while I whipped this out broadcasting live and Atlanta, Georgia.
- 0:18This this is The sport Shot Show with Wayne Candy. You may vegan,
- 0:25I'm joking. Show comes so far comes, it comes a month,
- 0:33isn't just I'm a doper. I'm gonna go on the way you made Bill
- 0:41Vegan. Welcome, welcome, Welcome. You're listening to the sport Shock Show.
- 0:48I am the Swortshot Wayne Candy, Good morning. Tell you on this
- 0:52beautiful Monday, we are halfway through the month of July. We have reached
- 0:58Major League Baseball All Star I guess day or days. It's not really a
- 1:06weekend. Uh. They play the game on a Tuesday, so I don't
- 1:12know how they quantify it. Commands Greg, It's just All Star break.
- 1:18Yeah, okay, they don't try to put the weekend part. And I
- 1:21got the home run derby tonight, the game tomorrow and then goes back a
- 1:26day off and then everybody. So major League Baseball having their break. A
- 1:34lot of great stories. Aaron Judd keeping pace with home runs for The Yankee
- 1:42Show. You a Tani and the things that he has done after signing the
- 1:46big deal. I read that he is selling his home. He bought a
- 1:51house a couple of months ago when he signed the deal to be a Dodger.
- 1:57He hasn't moved into the home yet, and he's selling it because the
- 2:05media put out his address, and neighbors and report crews and cameras have been
- 2:14already surveilling that the house, waiting for him to come in at different points,
- 2:21and he's like, I haven't even moved there, just put out my
- 2:23address and things like that. The media, this new media, is just
- 2:29very interesting to me. How they freedom of the press, yes I get,
- 2:35but just freedom at whim to invade people's lives, like, hey,
- 2:40this is where your boy lives. It's just become this where you right here,
- 2:46just pull up on him. Yeah, this whole beat everybody to the
- 2:51punch. I got the picture first, regardless of whether it's a true picture.
- 2:58I don't have to give you no details behind it, all those kinds
- 3:01of things. But Major League Baseball, tonight the home run Derby, and
- 3:07tomorrow is the All Star Game and a day off. Usually that day off
- 3:13is when the spies are displayed. The sps were a week earlier this year.
- 3:20Now, command, I mean not command you Greg the bad producer interested
- 3:24in why? So I think since he's interested in why, he should do
- 3:30the research and tell us why now now and get back with us in the
- 3:39next two hours. And I'm saying okay, because I was going to say
- 3:45not at the three minutes. We want to turn it over the bad producers.
- 3:49But the biggest story over the last couple of days is the assassination attempt
- 3:54of former president and current candidate mister Donald Trump. For our country. It
- 4:04is just one of those building moments, and it displays who and what we
- 4:16are as a country. I think the biggest thing about Donald Trump is Donald
- 4:21Trump makes most people in this country face the reality of what we have become,
- 4:34and we don't like it. So we don't like him. We're all
- 4:39hypocrites and we all are get drunk smoke. We do coke by a prostitute.
- 4:48Shoot everybody you want to shoot, run the red light, cut people
- 4:53off in traffic, shoot people in the drive through. It's okay to shake
- 4:58that booty on the pole. We fought that that. No, I'm on
- 5:03a serious, I'm on a serious That's where we are for everybody. We
- 5:13just long as is not the person I love. Then I wanted to go
- 5:17on bet on this and bet on that, and poorn hubbed this and pouring
- 5:23hubbed that. No rules, no regulations. Why he in jail? All
- 5:29he did was shoot three people. You know, his daddy left when he
- 5:33was eight, so you should understand, right, that's where we are and
- 5:42that's who this man is. And we think is guns. Yeah, let's
- 5:47have a million gun. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Well,
- 5:53there was no gun. You'd had too if you wanted to assassinate President
- 5:56Trump the other day with no guns, you had to get close, knife
- 6:00him or set a bomb. You had to go. You had to get
- 6:05more creative. And having to get more creative with the cause even more eyes
- 6:11on you. But since guns are for hunting and for protection, so our
- 6:23authority on our show has told us. But I don't know what this young
- 6:28twenty year old thought he was hunting. But this is serious. But in
- 6:33the news media, I've seen more coverage of puff Daddy than I've seen of
- 6:44this shooting, mainly because the media lets that don't like Donald Trump on board
- 6:51with it. They probably disappointed. This is my opinion. Y'all guys don't
- 7:04have to put your hand in. We ain't got to break it down on
- 7:06three. So I don't think I'm doing that. Don't think I'm trying to.
- 7:10I'm saying, I'm just giving you my view and I'm just watching in
- 7:14people. I'm like, this is America. We have no respect for each
- 7:19other. We tell the stories on the air, but I don't know that
- 7:26we really embrace that people are taking other people's lives because I said, honey
- 7:32mustard and you gave me barbecue sauw. Like you think I'm playing. Are
- 7:40y'all really understanding that, like people are morning and their children over things that
- 7:47happen in life every day we open our bag and realize I asked a ketch
- 7:55up, there they go. I didn't know I was supposed to back up,
- 8:00get my gun in it. Man, you've gotten my ketchup? You
- 8:03know none? I bet you know that's what we're doing in this country a
- 8:07sportsho morning. I want to say this. When you started talking about it,
- 8:11I wrote something down so I wouldn't forget it. And in talking about
- 8:16the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, I wrote down how un remarkable
- 8:24the coverage of the event was. I'm sitting at home and I hear,
- 8:30Hey, did you hear something about a shooting at Trump's rally? Used to
- 8:33be breaking news, Everything stops, we start following it. It's the only
- 8:39thing they talk about from the time TV comes on to the time. I
- 8:43had to search for it. I had to search for it. So we
- 8:48are so we are so desensitized to gun violence that none of it makes the
- 8:56radar. I don't think that had tone do with guns. Like I'm sports
- 9:01jocks, I think that a lot of people chose first of all, you
- 9:03cut commands, y off, We're going all around? Take away com was
- 9:07it? I was. I was at my day job when I heard about
- 9:11it. I didn't see any coverage. I went on YouTube that night and
- 9:18it said a complete assassination attempt coverage. The video was about seven minutes.
- 9:24So I don't it doesn't even seem like there was any effort to spend any
- 9:30time to And I don't want to put that on the two party system.
- 9:33That's not a brand new thing, the two party system. I've lived long
- 9:37enough to see assassination attempts on presidents, sitting presidents and politicians before and even
- 9:46with the two party system, with the emerging independence and all of that,
- 9:52the right wing left wing there was, Hey, this has gotten way out
- 9:58of control because now they're going after our political leaders. This has the same
- 10:05ring to it, the same coverage as honey Mustard not in the bag and
- 10:11bad producers give me January sixth when they store in the Capitol. We couldn't
- 10:18take that off TV weeks or for weeks. But it is about that.
- 10:24They're still talking about it, and it's like, it's not, it's not,
- 10:28it didn't happen. Well, like you said, what got me was
- 10:31as we grew old enough to know, regardless of what party or whatever,
- 10:37if a presidential or politician or someone of that statue got shot, attempted on
- 10:41their live plane, crash, anything, the whole country would stop at that
- 10:46moment. Like nine one one the last time we've had something. And they've
- 10:50tried to equate January sixth, two nine to one one, but it's something
- 10:56totally different. And like I said, it was funny to me, Like
- 10:58you said, you had to dig, you had to see. Just to
- 11:01the point that even fifty had a concert Saturday night, he put up a
- 11:05meme his whole album cover and he had a picture Donald Trump imposed on his
- 11:09h on his album cover, and everybody's just starting out. They're just like,
- 11:13hey, man, it's it's it's a fun it's a meme. Now
- 11:16it's a it's funny. I dont think people look at it as like it's
- 11:20we're a general. Two generations passed the last actual assassination attempt with Reagan.
- 11:31Since then, the closest that a president or former president has had to being
- 11:37attacked was George W. Bush had a shoe thrown at him. So I
- 11:41think because the time that has passed, the there generations that don't understand the
- 11:50magnitude of what can that would only amplify the magnet. And can you say,
- 11:54like like man, this this don't happen every day if they win the
- 11:58president, the only used to earn shoes. And now somebody is actually on
- 12:03the roof taking a shot at a dude who's running for president that now he
- 12:09was or he used to he was the former president. And as we go
- 12:13to break for you people, because a couple of people were sitting there like,
- 12:16oh, this is fake, because they didn't feel like the movement around
- 12:22the president was fast enough. That's TV. Stop trying to make television real
- 12:31life. Because in the movie, all four hundred people in the backdrop fall
- 12:39to the ground. That's not how it happens in real life. Everybody don't
- 12:45hear the gun shot in the arena, and for a lot of people they
- 12:50freeze because they're confused, they don't know what's going on. But everybody had
- 12:58this. Well look at the back they aren't all on the ground. That's
- 13:03a movie. People say it couldn't have been a bullet that grazed his ear
- 13:07because ar fifteen bullets would have done far more than We'll be back with more
- 13:11than a sportstock show. Right up to this, hold on, when I'm
- 13:16cooling on the scene, I noticed one thing. I'm not bound society myself
- 13:22about the mic like a wild beside. Don't go Awayne Born of the Sports

- 16:15deserve at a price, you can Afford. No, no, no,
- 16:17no. Now it's time to present the jock of the day on the sports
- 16:22Jock's taken it to a completely different level this year, where we highlight an
- 16:26accolade that has taken their game to the next level. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 16:36ladies and gentlemen, we've got Tony brushed up in the house. Shock
- 16:53shock this wor shock Wayne Gandy, the greatest wide receiver to her hit the
- 17:00football field. Jerry Rice, upset the other day, really took exception to
- 17:08being asked what really reads as a simple question. And this happened at the
- 17:18American Century Championship event in Lake Tahoe, where the reporters, now this is
- 17:26not Jerry, but the reporters say they asked Jerry Rice a simple question.
- 17:34They merely wanted to know if the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver group for this
- 17:42season had improved enough to continue winning at a high level. This is what
- 17:52the two reporters that Jerry got upset with explains was the question. And for
- 17:59that, mister Rice, the sixty two year old, walked over and threatened
- 18:07the reporters with a brief but powerful I will if you up. It's what
- 18:18Jerry had to say to these reporters. Now it is on video, you
- 18:29can't hear it clearly on audio that he is letting the reporters know that a
- 18:34very simple question, and it could just have been like a lot of times,
- 18:41some of people in the spotlight, they lose their coupe, not necessarily
- 18:51because of you or what you ask is just at that moment, that's not
- 18:59what they wanted to be disturbed with. They wanted to get away, like
- 19:03maybe Jerry and just golf. And if you had asked him a golf question,
- 19:08you know, and tune with what he was doing right now, he
- 19:12would have been cool with that. And the example is just you. You
- 19:18know someone you're at your daughter or son's wedding and somebody's asked you about stock
- 19:26prices. If you're at Wall Street, give you hit you with the standard
- 19:33no comment. I gotta gotta I gotta seek you out. I'm not justifying
- 19:40to be right, I'm saying you want to be bothered. Sometimes people just
- 19:47didn't. Not now, I don't like that right now, I get like
- 19:51that in the house. Not now, you know what I mean. That's
- 19:53what I'm saying. It could have been something about do you think you can
- 19:56win this tournament or something like that, and he would been you know,
- 20:00why did you use any actual what I'm doing now question? It could have
- 20:04been in the sport, like, you know, do you think this level
- 20:10of competition is something that but to be coming up to me like I'm doing
- 20:15my analysts job while while I'm out doing something, isn't Jerry Rice's son or
- 20:21what team did he get drafted by? He's on the sum team. And
- 20:26that's why I was just wondering if they probably could have have asked him a
- 20:30question about his son's progress or something like that. What that would have been
- 20:34going too far at a golf at at the event he was at. If
- 20:37they in others, in other words, instead of asking about the Kent City
- 20:41Chiefs receiving or maybe ask something, how's your how's your son? I'm I'm
- 20:48just telling you for my little knowledge of it. Guys, women love what
- 20:55you're asking to sync up with what they're doing. Does that that makes sense?
- 21:02Yeah, That's what I'm saying. Hey, I'm just just want no,
- 21:06I'm saying whatever I'm doing right now, that's what I just like you.
- 21:10If you out there and you the referee at the basketball game, but
- 21:14somebody wanted to catch you on the sideline and start asking you about something in
- 21:18your personal life and something not about the call you made. Hey, what
- 21:23do you think about that shot? You think that was a technical file,
- 21:27you know, something like that. You cool, but then you bringing up
- 21:30something, Hey, remember that night you was hanging out with pac Man?
- 21:34Did y'all really rob them? People calls now and see that that overlapsed to
- 21:41what you were talking about at the top of the hour. We've gotten to
- 21:45the point where we know a time when it had to be relevant to what
- 21:49we were doing right now as the media person, as the correspondent, I
- 21:55had to keep my questions limited to what we are currently engaged. But this
- 22:00new level of media and journalism allows you to ask whatever you want, wherever
- 22:07you want. And people are looking at Jerry as if he should be the
- 22:10one that is apologetic for reacting that way. You know, it used to
- 22:15be a time when people would have been like that guy knew he was out
- 22:18of line or something like that. But now you know they're on some Oh
- 22:22Jerry, you're harsh, I'm the guy comanch You have ever been in that
- 22:26situation? No, not not really. I mean I've seen that from I
- 22:33haven't seen the clip or anything yet, but but it sounds like this is
- 22:37something we see from TMZ a lot, yes, where they would go up
- 22:41to a celebrity and then ask them about something completely unrelated to them just to
- 22:48get their opinion. I think some people see it as well. We're getting,
- 22:53you know, this person's opinion, we're getting Jerry Rice. I any,
- 22:56he's an expert, he played the wide receiver position. But he's at
- 23:03a golf tournament right now. He may still be rough from the Super Bowl
- 23:07loss. I mean, who knows how somebody will react if you asked him
- 23:11about something unrelated to there, to what's happening, and especially he's actually golfing.
- 23:18Yeah, and this is not like a post. When the tournament's over.
- 23:23In those moments, you're up here at the children's hospital helping on some
- 23:27kind of charity day to raise money. Somebody comes in. Uh so,
- 23:33how do you feel about that breakup between you and Kim Kardashian right three years
- 23:37ago? That hold on? First, let me introduce you to my current
- 23:45wife, current and that's that based out of Kansas City, that group of
- 23:56media people, so they're they're based out of Kansas City. And they also
- 24:00said Jerry didn't want to sign some autographs today before, but when you caught
- 24:03the man on the practice rite practice ranging, there's time and place where get
- 24:08the autographs doing the golf tournament people, And that's all I'm I'm I'm just
- 24:12kind of trying to put myself in Jerry's shoes, Jerry being from that old
- 24:21ontographs. But you can always catch these hangs. I'm here for this,
- 24:25right, I'm not here at I'm not at the Hall of Fame in Campton
- 24:29right. When I go there, I expect all kinds of questions. Everybody
- 24:33want to sign I came to the golf or whatever that was. And because
- 24:37you finally got to catch up with me now you want to go back in
- 24:42time, right or even ask him about why would he care what the Kansas
- 24:47City Chief Receiving corps look like because he played with Joe Montawn what plus plus
- 24:52I didn't get how they must in the bag, Oh it's it's must Jon't
- 25:07bow away. More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Dantidias dumbing up next,

- 29:17jo sat start that. John said, look him and his wife then already
- 29:21came to time the husband. I looked at Caitlyn, Daddy, man,
- 29:26chip, I look, I'm like John Stocked and she got your game,
- 29:32he said, there you go. She looked like you're on the court.
- 29:36You sound like my wife and I she asked him the same thing. We
- 29:41look. She even has the same foot moves and shot. She even has
- 29:47the same foot move man. He's sitting there like, I just I don't

- 29:57got nothing to do with that. Y'all got to leave my name out of
- 30:00that. I see Caitlyn and she's just more and more looks like because some
- 30:06people don't respect and understand the gravity of how great John Stockton was, they
- 30:12tried to dismiss John Stalkton, and it's like, you know, John Stockton
- 30:18played point guard as good as anybody that ever played point guard. Yeah,
- 30:23that's why when he left, he left all time assists, all time steals,
- 30:29and nobody's catching them. And that's what that's what a point guard did,
- 30:33and he was like the second leading scorer on the team. So John
- 30:37Stockton as good as anyone advertised for how the point guard was played at that
- 30:44time. Right, it was more than that traditional Vin. He didn't he
- 30:49didn't come to the game with chains and grills and all that. He wasn't
- 30:52flatting. He came to make Kenny mad every time because Kenny swore that little
- 30:56physique wasn't gonna kill him to night. Then you know, John, I
- 31:00got twenty four points, nineteen assists, and everybody still and everybody asked him,
- 31:07where did he go to school? He come out of Where do you
- 31:11go to school? I can't believe they can't guard him? Man out here
- 31:15killing go to school. Kaitlyn Clark one of those hurd Angelice, as I
- 31:19said right now, I give him co because Caitlin's leading the WNBA in assist
- 31:29angel is re leading the WNBA in rebounds. Not Rooky when I'm not I'm
- 31:33not Ricky talking about the league. Yeah, in those two areas, the
- 31:40scoring, you don't imagine that they got to learn how to score against,
- 31:44but to lead as a rookie one of your real four major categories, that's
- 31:51that's a that's a huge thing to be the leading assist person and the leading
- 31:55rebounder of a league and you're a rookie. And remember they were not hos
- 32:00to be able to be as proficient at the next level. Everybody talked about
- 32:04the rookie struggles that they would have and they've come in and obviously not only
- 32:09met but surpassed a lot of those expectations. And they both got I can
- 32:14write them a note right now. The two things injuries. Needs to focus
- 32:17on having a face in the basket game because she doesn't know how to score
- 32:23that way yet in a jump shot, Kaitlyn need to learn to shoot going
- 32:30right. She can't. She is not She can't shoot threes going for some
- 32:36reason. I don't know if it's that little lean, because she doesn't even
- 32:38when she goes left. She likes the kind of lean going left. But
- 32:43when she comes so they set the pick so she can't get the ball.
- 32:45They give her the right hand the right movement three because they know they she
- 32:52can't shoot it. And she needs to focus that. Yes, you make
- 32:55a lot of brilliant passes. She just got a calm that down, but
- 33:00they me or two of the top twenty players. I don't know what people
- 33:04are watching, y'all ringing them as their rookies. I'm looking at them as
- 33:07both as player professionals, and they both easily are right now are the second
- 33:13best players on their team, which is a big thing right out of college.
- 33:17So, but w NBA All Star Game is this weekend? Ohio State,
- 33:22excuse me, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, come on, come on,
- 33:32Uncle Joe always get the os u's mess. Fritz putin mean Oregon,
- 33:39I mean Oklahoma State's head coach. Mike Gundy coming under criticism for being honest,
- 33:46and I wrote that down. Why is being honest considered irresponsible and dangerous?
- 33:57Why is me doing an interview addressing the audience and being honest considered to
- 34:07a lot of people to be irresponsible? That used to be applauded. What
- 34:10what what? What was? What was the context of that honesty? Mike
- 34:15Gundy has a player, Ali Gordon, who was arrested for DUI and after
- 34:24everything was worked out, Mike Gundhy Oklahoma State decided that they would not suspend
- 34:32Ali Gordon, and doing an interview, Mike Gundhy admitted that luckily, He
- 34:42even said luckily he's been in that situation and just made it home or didn't
- 34:50get caught. Basically, he was honest about that we've all had. He's
- 34:55had a dream at my right right exactly. We've had a couple of drinks
- 35:01and thought, either I could come twenty five miles back tomorrow and get my
- 35:06car, I can go and drive him home. Now I have a clip
- 35:08if you'll want to hear me driving home. I looked it up on my
- 35:13phone. What would be the legal limit like in Oklahoma's point eight and Ollie
- 35:19was point one. So I looked it up and it was based on body
- 35:25weight. Not to get into the legal side of it, but I thought,
- 35:29really two or three beers or four. I'm not justifying what all he
- 35:32did. I'm telling you what decision I made. Well, I thought I've
- 35:36probably done that a thousand times in my life, and I'm you know,
- 35:39it's just fine. So I got lucky. People get lucky. All.
- 35:44He made a decision that he wished he could have done better. But when
- 35:50I talked to Ali, I told him said, you're lucky you got out
- 35:52like and that is the head coach Mike Gundie been in Oklahoma state for a
- 35:58long time, very successful coach going on ab the fifty six year old at
- 36:02Big twelve Media day, and basically I like that well about the coach.
- 36:09I'm not gonna sit here in judgment as a hypocrite and make Ali feel like
- 36:15he did something that was just invented. Well now and see now, sports,
- 36:22y'all go ahead. Let me say this first and foremost. I agree
- 36:27with you, but we are living in a time when he wasn't speaking as
- 36:32himself. He was supposed to be speaking as the coach of Oklahoma State,
- 36:38and the Oklahoma State coach speaks the mind and the sensibilities of the institution,
- 36:45and the institution has all of these supporters and sponsors, and I'm sure they
- 36:49don't encourage anything that has anything to do with being lenient or forgiving of drunk
- 36:55driving, because that's one of the cardinal sins. We discussed that earlier this
- 37:00month about how there's a couple of things that you just can't do, and
- 37:04that's one of them, the drinking and the driving thing. And you went
- 37:07out there with your sensibilities and had the nerve to be human, No,
- 37:12how dare you? You should have just been a coach first? Then fire
- 37:15me, sir, And that's the only thing that they are probably left with
- 37:21trying to do to correct it, because now people, I want you to
- 37:23fire me so I can take this eighty million you still owe me and go
- 37:28and go. And now this is where we are. If it meant that
- 37:31much to you to criticize me, then it should mean enough to you to
- 37:36fire me. If it doesn't, then we're just playing politics with words.
- 37:40Well, you know, to me, I respect I would go with coach
- 37:44gundhy all day if he comes to the institution because to me, those people
- 37:49who are what you're saying that, oh, we're not that they're not being
- 37:53truthful within themselves because they've all probably and have attempted that he's being honest.
- 37:59He's the person you want your kid to go to play ball for. He's
- 38:04the man that you want your kid to say, Hey, I trust you.
- 38:07My eighteen year old could go to school and go with you because you're
- 38:12going to look out for the best interest. And I like the fact that
- 38:15that man he listen. I'm just saying now, this man has got a
- 38:19lot of criticism through the years for being honest, and he's one of the
- 38:22most honest football coaches I've seen in college football that to me, really cares
- 38:28about his players, and he's not caring about the institution right now at that
- 38:31moment, I'm specifically speaking to his question why it's being honest considered dangerous and
- 38:37irresponsible because the next kid from Oklahoma State that gets behind the wheel, drinking
- 38:44and driving, whatever the results are, they can go with. Coach said,
- 38:49you know, we done been through it before, almost as if you
- 38:52have given me license to or you are endorsing it. And that's the world
- 38:57we live in. Apparently it's done happened before, and they've have done something,
- 39:00it's been taken care in house, and this happened to go outside.
- 39:05The only way to help someone correct anything is to be honest. If you've
- 39:08been on that same page. That's the only way a person hears you.
- 39:14If you sit here in judgment of something that you did as though you did
- 39:17not do it, you are the first example. If you're the coach of
- 39:22especially a young kid or a parent, and you're trying to chastise your child
- 39:29on something that you completely were involved in as though you were not, they
- 39:36don't hear you. Now, OLLI can hear coach when he says man,
- 39:42I've been on that. It's no different than anybody I've been in what you're
- 39:45talking about. So you can't play this like I ain't been there, and
- 39:51I'm telling you that's gonna send you down the wrong world. I'm not talking
- 39:54from as though I didn't do it. I just don't know why mother's against
- 40:00drunk driving and anybody like people will sit around like they haven't done because I'm
- 40:07quite sure a lot of those mothers against drunk driving people at some point in
- 40:12their life, even if they stopped, at some point, they probably had
- 40:16done the same thing as well. And those those those platforms aren't predicated on
- 40:22what you've done. They're predicated on preventing what you will do. And so
- 40:28the coach being honest again, isn't what the platform, isn't what the institution
- 40:32would have preferred. It's what I respect more. But in today's business of
- 40:38making somebody else responsible for my actions, and that's why nobody getting that,
- 40:44and that's why it never gets translated to fix. Yeah, I'm saying I
- 40:49agree more. The Sports Job show right after this, don't have you've been
- 41:01and you forgot why? Hey kid walk straight? John Borlwayne or of The

- 43:15I'll shy even Jenny, welcome back to this one Shock Show. I'm this
- 43:21one Shock Wing Candy, Good morning to you, command you, Greg Bad,
- 43:23producer Big Kenny in the studio today. We just talking about Oklahoma State
- 43:29head coach Mike Conte just being honest and this could be something been there as
- 43:34the head coach played at Oklahoma State as quarterback mister rat. Does he still
- 43:39have that that that uh that mullet? Is it still there in the Mullet
- 43:47University? That's how long University of Florida. Mullet is a shorter version of
- 43:54it because he used to have it hanging out the helmet. It seeming it's
- 43:59getting it's been a longer over the last few years, like it was he's
- 44:04using extensions. He didn't have it, but get getting longer extensions. See
- 44:13he already enough. I was. And one thing I would tell maybe think
- 44:16with Mike. Mike probably has done it that other way, Big Kenny,
- 44:22and it was ineffective. I've been calling him him, you know, I've
- 44:27been using this acting like the suspension thing. You suspension, I mean you're
- 44:34suspended and taking all and none of that has stopped anybody. Maybe if I
- 44:37am honest, that might actually stop these kids from It's it's like me teaching
- 44:45a technique, and I'm quick to tell young kids. Man that is not
- 44:49don't tell your coach though. When I get him to the high school college
- 44:53guys, I quickly let him know, don't go take because you're gonna be
- 44:57mad. But that little technique right there, that don't actually worry. It
- 45:02looks good in theory though, because you look good. You got your hand
- 45:06up and see how all that it looked good. But that's not how to
- 45:09battle. It's gonna actually go. What's gonna happen is you're gonna be out
- 45:15there, ah barrenly be holding on and praying to God that he throw the
- 45:20ball. I'm gonna put you in the real scenario. I think that's what
- 45:23Mike Gundy might be on learning. In all these years I've been in the
- 45:28car with like that young man. I was in college. I remember riding
- 45:31around with no seat belt. So you ain't even hold enough to remember that.
- 45:35He probably telling them like that, But I ain't had no seat belt,
- 45:38and all that's gonna do is lead to this road. And I unfortunately,
- 45:43as he said, I'm lucky I didn't get caught up. Now do
- 45:47I look at it? But you don't have to go down that road.
- 45:52Here are your options. Use these options. You don't want to be rugs
- 45:58out in Oakland or La. Excuse me, you don't want to be this
- 46:04person right right, and this is the slow road to that. But I'm
- 46:08not gonna sit here at like I wasn't there with you. And I'm quite
- 46:12sure you guys with kids have might some issues your own. Most people duck
- 46:17what they think they kid might be shame of, so they presented like,
- 46:22oh, I ain't never been you right there too. Now I know I'm
- 46:25not saying you. I'm just saying a lot of people duck that one or
- 46:30two subjects they hope they daughter never get on because Mama don't want to tell
- 46:37about that time with Chris Brown and Bobby Brown. Oh not the Brown,
- 46:42the double browns. Yeah, she went double to too brown, too down
- 46:46brown. You don't ever want that to come up. And then the daughter
- 46:50coming there talking about Mama. I need to ask you something, right,
- 46:57you know, Drake and Kendrick both asked me to the yacht party. What
- 47:05you think I should do? Don't go if Diddy there, girl, I
- 47:10don't know. I'm just saying I don't know how I know that, but
- 47:14I'm just saying, don't. Uh. Fans down in Miami Miami Gardens,
- 47:20Florida at the Copa America Final decided that they were not gonna wait on the
- 47:27gate attendants to come open the gate, saying flooded. I'm gonna be honest.
- 47:37I've been telling you Big Kenny and command you Greg Wi a whole little
- 47:40liberal mindset. It's time to make this kind of stuff federal. It should
- 47:46be a big sign outside y'all don't want to control the crowd. I'm saying
- 47:53what they do, federal prosecution on a sign outside of things, get things
- 47:59done, rallies. Even in is Spanish too, that word federal rally time
- 48:05doing time, big old sign as you does that say federal crime now,
- 48:08yes, storm and the gate now on video is a for a federal crime,
- 48:14I'm saying now. And if that were the only deterrent we needed,
- 48:17they wouldn't be building federal persons every day because people doing fair time every day
- 48:23and you know how to fed go day for day? Would they say ten
- 48:28years, you doing nine years, three hundred and fifty one days, eighty
- 48:34five percent all that time, you gonna do it? And people still go
- 48:37out and go to jail. Now, the big mystery came to light was
- 48:44the fans without tickets had kind of mixed in with fans with tickets. That's
- 48:50the big storyline of this, Okay, that it became Now there's no process
- 48:58of trying to tell who and how how do we reorganize this to get people
- 49:02in their seats. We got people running the field, we got people just
- 49:06walking around the stadium, right, We got a whole bunch of people that
- 49:09are went through the events. Yeah, and it's basically it's knuck into the
- 49:13game right right right, And you know, we live in a time now
- 49:16where they try and make entering the game to two things they've done to try
- 49:22and improve entering is uh, make the entrances not look like entrances, and
- 49:30to speed up the flow of the crowds with the electronic ticketing, so no
- 49:35one's really having to stop at a barrier and go through anymore. It's sort
- 49:39of a fluid come through. If something goes off, you may be pulled
- 49:44to the side. But there's really no more turnstyle type entry to these events
- 49:49anymore. And this really and I read the article BADBADUSI Big Kenny Command,
- 49:54and it was saying that some justifications. It was like, well, they
- 50:00shouldn't have taken so long to open the gate, Like it's not general mission
- 50:07people, you had seen it, you are you see, that's that.
- 50:12That's the best. It's all the way. It's always somebody like. But
- 50:17if they had just opened the gate, it was eight o two. It
- 50:22was I had the key at the lock. I had the wrong key.
- 50:27I'm looking for the key to this lock. I'll keep saying, hold on,
- 50:30give me a second, y'all, just start climbing the gate. They're
- 50:34just doing the gate. And there it did. A couple of people did
- 50:37get treated for injuries. They escorted a couple of people out, but you
- 50:42imagine security when they restigate. It's not that many security and security on some
- 50:47Hey whatever, we'll have a report, well not for seventeen fifty hours.
- 50:53Yeah, you just step back and just take it on to the side.
- 50:57Hey, and I feel you cause I'm making twenty three and I moved a
- 51:00long time. We'll be back Stock show a time. Thank you. Oh,
- 51:09I said you below and it's your dream, Choppy, don't go away.

- 52:21It is hot, You've only been parked a short time and it's already ninety
- 52:25nine degrees in there. Let's not leave children in the back seat while running
- 52:29errands. It only takes a few minutes for their body temperatures to rise,
- 52:32and that could be fatal. Cars get hot fast and can be deadly.

- 52:46feeling down. We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. But there are times
- 52:51when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress gets to us and we need to talk
- 52:55to someone about what we're really going through. So we're gonna because sometimes mental
- 53:01health is not a one person job. Is it Love your Mind Today dot
- 53:05org. That's Love your Mind Today dot org. Brought to you by the
- 53:07Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the Head Counselor. And now back to the sports
- 53:14John Wayne Candy center court on sports news, gossip, blah blah blah blah
- 53:24blah to this shock show, the sport shock Wayne Candy. Hey, let's
- 53:47do this here, let's do this as we go into the NBA season that's
- 53:52coming along. Uh, let the let the Broddie James thing go. Media,
- 53:58no stop reporting on it. No, let it go, Let it
- 54:02go. Bronnie James is not disappointing any body. He is the fifty fifth
- 54:12pick out of fifty eight people. He's only supposed to be scoring about six
- 54:20points a game. That's why you get drafted fifty five out of fifty eight.
- 54:29It's gonna be a slow moving train. If he was gonna give you
- 54:32eighteen twenty two at night, they call that lottery pick. You are the
- 54:39fifty fifth pick out of fifty eight because that potential we don't we don't know,
- 54:46it's not even we got now that we'll see you out here in the
- 54:50train for maybe maybe you big three. Who was the fifty fifth pick last
- 54:57year of the draft? Your man, well, in twenty twenty fifth,
- 55:01your man, Your man's now, y'all, don't remember the fifty fifth Your
- 55:06man's he knew, he knew when I said your man's automatically bam, he
- 55:14knew who I was talking about, y'all. Let it go. The man
- 55:17a couple of baskets. He plans some good defense from what they say to
- 55:22be so young, that's what fifty fifth picks. This happens there. I'm
- 55:28quite sure if I went to the G League game today, two thirds of
- 55:32them guys or the fifty fifth picks where they all are, that's around some
- 55:37of the first round. I'm saying, do you think that? Do you
- 55:42think, say some of them at the first they were lottery picks? You
- 55:47think it's a unfortunate thing that he's going to have to work for people to
- 55:55see him in that light, because even if Lebron goes, come on,
- 56:00man, he was the fifty fifth pick, everybody all he bumping for his
- 56:02boy. He trying to make excuse me, but no, that's what fifty
- 56:07fifth picks do. And then you know, here Briannie is just trying I'm
- 56:13just trying to be a fifty fifth pick. Bron y'all keep on looking at
- 56:15me like your daddy would be so disappointed. Here thirty tonight, I was
- 56:20number fifty five. Here's some notable fifty fifth picks in the current Miami heat
- 56:25Guard. Patty Mills it was two thousand and nine. Uh, but prior
- 56:30to that, you had Mark Ravoni, who Mark ourvon of Ravoni, Mark
- 56:35Blunt, Kenny Gaston. I've heard and twe more and to e twe more
- 56:44now now and those were the notable. Oh the god, everybody know a
- 56:51fifty fifth pick. All the other unknowns should be grateful. Uh. One
- 56:57of our online listeners wanted to say, it's good to see command you Greg
- 57:00back and healthy. Oh was he out? He he's sick, sick community,
- 57:07Thank you. Yeah. I don't know what he had that thing that
- 57:15yeah, yeah, to go to the clinic. You got the Roman.
- 57:17It's somebody vault that that was her name. But that's all I want to
- 57:23say with the Brennan because I keep seeing it's like you can't measure this young
- 57:28man. With the kind of money the NBA makes, they keep these g
- 57:32leagues going to try to get a place where young players and even the bad
- 57:38produce a couple of shows. Ago even reminded us sometimes we forget when before
- 57:44when Brownie James went to high school, he was considered one of the top
- 57:47twenty players in the country, top fifteen players, and he had the heart
- 57:52issue and he went to USC. This is all a project. It's a
- 57:59project of the Lakers that actually still benefits them the most profitable fifty fifth pick.
- 58:06Ever, it's good business both ways. Yeah, I got a place
- 58:13to put you for two three years that what we think you might become may
- 58:19come about. And in that we also sell your jersey. Very seldom we
- 58:24get to sell second round pick jerseys out, you know. And and but
- 58:30they keep reporting like, well, that sounds about like a fifty eight points
- 58:34in two rebounds. That sounds like the fifty fifth pick. My boy,
- 58:37Marcus Page was a fifty fifth pick. Who is that? Yeah, twenty
- 58:45sixteen went to the nets, exactly, went to the nets. Stop acting
- 58:52brand new like you don't know, sad news out of Denver. Their young
- 58:57rookie the second, the twenty second pick there and Holmes the second he tore
- 59:00his achilles last week, so he will be out for the season, and
- 59:05he was number twenty two for the Denver Nuggets and part of whenever I see
- 59:10Achilles, it's just something that seems to be the new injury. I you
- 59:17know, Dominique famously toward his KILLO spikes, my good friend toward his Kobe.
- 59:23But it was one of those one person a year type because it is
- 59:29the largest and strongest tendon in the body. But now it seems very prevalent
- 59:38to shoes or I don't know what I do know. I've talked a lot
- 59:43of people about too much of that explosive, too many of those drills where
- 59:47you're jumping up on stuff like that box that box jumps. Kind of doing
- 59:53too many of those kind of drills can affect it because it gets used to
- 1:00:00being loaded and working out. When they say he load your it's kind of
- 1:00:05like engaging, almost like cocking the gun, and you keep doing that to
- 1:00:09it. But I just know it's been in all across all sports. You
- 1:00:13see baseball players doing it just running the bases, football players making a move.
- 1:00:19It's not like they're tackling somebody or somebody hits you in it. You
- 1:00:23just see the guy go to make a cut as a receiver and it snaps.
- 1:00:27And I don't know if it's just one of those things like cars,
- 1:00:31Like you know how they say before you get a car, you never saw
- 1:00:36the car, and then once you see, once you get the car,
- 1:00:39you always everybody got that car. Now, Yeah, it seems like in
- 1:00:43your mind. So I don't know if it's one of those things that once
- 1:00:46I knew someone who had it, it started being more. But it seems
- 1:00:51like maybe this, you know, because I know that it did change the
- 1:00:53training. Training started younger, Yeah, and it started more more specialized,
- 1:01:00isolated. Yeah, it's the isolated. They do more jumping and things that
- 1:01:05take you off of your feet than they do in the older times when most
- 1:01:12things were done drills were you were on the ground some cones cones. We'll
- 1:01:17be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this. But they shoes,
- 1:01:22no woods. I'm dumbling out in the bathroom getting single. The mingo blow
- 1:01:29something in the make them tingle John Bow Wayne Bord of The Sports John Show
- 1:01:35with Wayne Gandia's coming up next. Hear that that's the sound of your life,
- 1:01:46perfectly imperfect, beating in rhythm to the world you've created. But every
- 1:01:54time you drive after drinking, the music gets drowned out. Your life sounds
- 1:02:02pretty great. Don't let a buzz ruin it. Buzz driving is drunk driving.
- 1:02:07Don't drive buzzed. A message from Nit's in the AD Council. My
- 1:02:10simple solution to the problem was remove people from the scene and help them feel
- 1:02:15safer. In response to attacks against Asian Americans, Maddie Park raised over two
- 1:02:21hundred and fifty thousand dollars to donate CAMB rights to the Asian community. There

- 1:02:49And we hold the world ransom for excuse me while I will this out sure
- 1:02:55broadcasting live and it led it to your job with this. This is the
- 1:03:00Sports Shot Show with Wing. You may show come to far comes Alth just
- 1:03:17I'm doing. Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way you made. Welcome
- 1:03:22back to the sport Shock Show. I'm the Sportshock Wing game. The good
- 1:03:25morning to you on this Monday Day. If you missed any of that first
- 1:03:30hour as we go off, you can go to iHeartRadio, Deezer, Audible,
- 1:03:36Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon podcast and catch the replay of the
- 1:03:43show. Big Kitty brings to us that George Foreman has decided that he is
- 1:03:49going to sail some of his car collection. Uh he about fifty cars.
- 1:03:58He is planning to say, Oh, he has a lot of vintage.
- 1:04:00He was a custom car, vintage car collector, and he's deciding to sell.
- 1:04:06I would imagine with George living long enough to see that, that's all
- 1:04:15his children are going to do when he passes, is sell the cars.
- 1:04:20Like at one point in my life, I thought maybe they would fall in
- 1:04:26love with vintage cars as well, so I would just pass them along to
- 1:04:30them. And then I realize, all you're going to do is sell the
- 1:04:36cars upon my death anyway, so I might as well sell them now and
- 1:04:44divvy the money up how I see fit. How I see fit because I
- 1:04:49already know what you were planning to do, and a lot of you that
- 1:04:53are older and have different merchandise. Maybe one of the thinks in that same
- 1:05:00line is one thing in for your daughter or your son. You see that
- 1:05:04that is something they're going to value. But if that's not their thing,
- 1:05:11you might as well sell that boat and take that proceeds. And still you
- 1:05:16might want to give them the money, or give it, break it up
- 1:05:18how you want, or do something for yourself. But you see that they're
- 1:05:25not going to appreciate some eighteen oh five military sword from the French War,
- 1:05:34right right? Ain't I google this say it's worth fourteen hundred dollars? And
- 1:05:42I think that's when you brought the story and I looked. I was like,
- 1:05:44yeah, that's all George. He was hoping with all those sons,
- 1:05:48but there ain't nobody out in the garage helping me sixty because first of all,
- 1:05:55if any of them are under thirty, they don't even want to drive.
- 1:05:58They don't even want to drive. He said that he did it in
- 1:06:00an effort to make things easier on his wife, actually, because she was
- 1:06:04the one maintaining the garage next to home that houses all of the vehicles.
- 1:06:10And he said he never started off to be a collector. He was just
- 1:06:14you know, in his words were it was kind of how much is that
- 1:06:17doggie in the window? I see something I wanted I buy it. I
- 1:06:21had a fast car. They said something was faster. I bought it,
- 1:06:25and then noticed that my wife was the only one really keeping up with it.
- 1:06:28So he's got what how many sons? Seven? Like there's George fifteenth,
- 1:06:31like George the nineteenth, he's like the real George. No, yeah,
- 1:06:34there's like six or seven sons in there something, and none of them
- 1:06:41have emerged as the collector that he needed. He got it. When you
- 1:06:45touch it is when it, oh it does that, it goes out.
- 1:06:47Okay, well stop touching. But I think that we even talk about that
- 1:06:53sometimes and I say, the new owner, the new owner of a team,
- 1:06:57Yeah, most of them are going to listen to the offer. You
- 1:07:04know, that's the best time to buy a team. When the last owner
- 1:07:10passes that next generation don't have that kind of All I heard is you said
- 1:07:15two billion example a person that was just where I grew up, because that's
- 1:07:26where like a lot of like the teams that have the that's that was the
- 1:07:30family. A family owned the team. That second generation normally doesn't hold on
- 1:07:36to it. You know, very few like like the Rooney's there, you
- 1:07:41know, another generation of Rooneys are still running the Steelers, but you don't
- 1:07:46see that often passing it on to the children. And the Steelers are able
- 1:07:51to do that because they make someone or multiple people come work in the organization.
- 1:08:02Long time you start scouts that you know there when you see them in
- 1:08:06the program as some kind it has nothing to do with nepotism. They could
- 1:08:14go they graduate from college, then they start as a scout and then you'll
- 1:08:17see them as the head of pro personnel. And they're doing that so that
- 1:08:20person will have football in their spirit, because if you don't, mister Blank
- 1:08:29could easily pass his team on to his kids. And all they heard,
- 1:08:34like I said, it's worth seventeen two billions, googled what about doing?
- 1:08:45What if I throw in the United three and a half billions? And then
- 1:08:49like you say, and they go on with they will, but can I
- 1:08:53keep as sweet? That's all they want, you know, which they only
- 1:08:56go many tickets I get a year, and then some people get team.
- 1:09:00They want to change the identity of the prior owner. Just like the fire
- 1:09:04becaus with Mster Blank took over. He took over for the Smiths. He
- 1:09:08moved a further to Flowery Branch. You know, practice was in Swanee used
- 1:09:12to be one of the training facility. Those things are the type of things
- 1:09:15they want to try to make you forget from, like up to Carolina Panthers.
- 1:09:18They said, this the new owner, he wants to make the people
- 1:09:21forget about Richardson. So he even moved training camp from Spartanboro, which that's
- 1:09:27been there for thirty years. And this year the owner, owners and coaches
- 1:09:30all do that. Yeah, this is the first coaches come in and they
- 1:09:32throw away whatever the old coach because they want a new era. You'll see
- 1:09:38something simple as the last coach had us sit on the right side of the
- 1:09:43court, So I've become the head coach. We're gonna sit on the left
- 1:09:46side of the court. It's it's a very it's it's a way of trying
- 1:09:51to basically urinate on you'll, but they don't work out a lot of times
- 1:09:58for some coaches. Some coaches they do sometimes it doesn't work out well.
- 1:10:01If you if you were not under that last coach, then you you want
- 1:10:05to plant your style. That's the only way it transfers. I can't coach
- 1:10:15you what the other coach because I didn't coach, I didn't play or coach
- 1:10:17under him like that. Mark Davis is having a good time with the Raiders
- 1:10:23because he came up under his daddy. But Mark Davis Junior probably somewhere in
- 1:10:30a casino telling him, oh, man, don't die too soon. How
- 1:10:35it's gonna be too blund He's on his own. He's telling it every time
- 1:10:40he picked him up to drive him off at therapy. Don't die too soon,
- 1:10:45because don't breathe too deep on that to take that pomp. Look like
- 1:10:49you're about to get on out of here. But I love you though,
- 1:10:51Hey, I'm with that. When he got out the card, I'll be
- 1:10:55back in two hours after I'll be done in an hour and a half.
- 1:11:00But I love you, dad. I bet you. Hey. I think
- 1:11:08he called his boy, who already had the course. I think, hey,
- 1:11:14man, you said they got that new jet. Right he closer than
- 1:11:17he's been this morning, and make an offer. Just ask him out at
- 1:11:24the posit Yeah. Yeah, so, because you know, like all of
- 1:11:28our if you have children out there, you know that you see that difference
- 1:11:31there. There has become less and less homage. Even when you watch sports.
- 1:11:36I can always take it in added the sports, the young superstar does
- 1:11:42not dig into the crates of yes, digging in the crates. They don't
- 1:11:49know what of yesteryear. They don't go back. They don't feel like whatever
- 1:11:55they're doing today is in honor of someone before them. They're doing today for
- 1:12:03lil UZI vert come to they party tomorrow, right, not so Kareem can
- 1:12:10clap for them. All they say is an old man. Who is the
- 1:12:15tall old man? Did he play? Yeah, that's Kareem Kareem. They
- 1:12:20used to play for the Lakers. Yeah that Kareem. Yeah, he used
- 1:12:25to have that shot. Yeah. Nobody don't do that no more though,
- 1:12:30Like they don't, you know, they don't have that, you know.
- 1:12:31And that's the same thing I'm saying, long story short with George and any
- 1:12:34of us out there, go ahead on and cast your stuff out. Stop
- 1:12:39trying to fool yourself that they gonna love your hobby. Yeah, cash out
- 1:12:44all them all them airplanes you got in there glued together. Yeah, he
- 1:12:49said, like at seventy five, he just looked like man. And he
- 1:12:54said that I think it was his sister that oversaw the auction of the cars.
- 1:12:58And he said that he wasn't trying to place any sentimental attachment on him.
- 1:13:03He said he loved them all, so he didn't want to look like,
- 1:13:05oh no, I don't want to give that one away. That's the
- 1:13:08one I bought. When he said, he just closed his eyes and let
- 1:13:11them all go all that lake cabin and stuff them young kids are not going
- 1:13:15to go up there and cook nothing. Yeah, they didn't eat. Can't
- 1:13:18even get to that cabin, Kevin, ain't got no WiFi set up in
- 1:13:24the state. Ain't got no WiFi, no Wi Fi. You can't stream.
- 1:13:30I mean you got Yeah, I didn't touch it. You went back
- 1:13:39to we got a no video? Yeah, old data. That's how it
- 1:13:43sounds in court. You know we got it on tape. You didn't touch
- 1:13:46it. I didn't touch it, Yes, she said, you did.
- 1:13:48But George and now people with the parts and stuff, there's a lot of
- 1:13:53components of why he probably was getting rid of those cars though. Yeah,
- 1:13:57a lot of vintaged cars no longer girl sell parts. You have to go
- 1:14:01to a specialized place that has the parts. And George was one of those
- 1:14:05restoration guys. A lot of those cars from the fifties he bought and restored
- 1:14:11with his own hands. And man, where's Khalif as we go to break
- 1:14:15was arrested over in Romania. Anybody ever heard anything about a Romanian jail?
- 1:14:19Say he was arrested, charged with illegal possession of drugs black and yellow,

- 1:14:41always did Romania. I have no real how you thought they were broken up.

- 1:23:41other said notes. Money Kiffin, the father of Lane Kiffin, architect of
- 1:23:45a lot of great defenses in his career, eighty four years old, passed
- 1:23:49away. Jacoby Jones at the young age of forty famously with the Baltimore Ravens.
- 1:23:58He passed away as where I'm getting worried that might have been cancer related.
- 1:24:02With Jacoby Jones, we talked about Shannon Doherty nine o two one oh
- 1:24:08also on Charmed, long battle with cancer herself, and uh, doctor Ruth
- 1:24:15the sex therapist who a lot of the fame was just for anyone to even
- 1:24:21call themselves that when she came out, Remember that was one of those times
- 1:24:27where you clutched your pearls. Yes, if you're going to have intercourse with
- 1:24:32your husband, my goodness, she said, husband in intercourse. Yeah.
- 1:24:38Doctor Ruth wis ninety six overachiever, Yeah, Rosie like almost caught you.
- 1:24:46Yeah, Rosie trying to try trying to catch you. And and Richard Simmons
- 1:24:51also, Yeah, the the Guru, I had him down, the Guru
- 1:24:55of fitness. Uh. And it never looked like six years old. It
- 1:24:59never looked like people were getting fit though, looked like they was just moved
- 1:25:02from side to side. Well, I think his whole approach when he opened
- 1:25:05was to get people who never moved, never moved, to come work out
- 1:25:11and stop trying to be like what they showed you look that look right,
- 1:25:15So don't don't come here looking to be on a sports neck right, just
- 1:25:19to heart, come as you are and keep you flexible to be able to
- 1:25:24do your daily chores. Yeah, almost all, you know, kind of
- 1:25:27like yoga before yoga, moving yoga. I don't know what he what did
- 1:25:30he call his before? Well, before he came along, it was called
- 1:25:34walking, but now it's called what was it aerobics? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:41kind of aerobics. Okay. Richard Simmons seventy six years old, passing away.

- 1:28:24one hundred meal that will be their cost on the Olympis. Big Kenny command
- 1:28:32you Greg Bad producer in the studio today that Delta, basically from what Big
- 1:28:41Kenny was sharing with me, says, there are not a lot of people
- 1:28:47flying to Paris the Olympics. During the Olympic Games, actually a lot of
- 1:28:54Now, Delta has more NonStop flights to Paris from the unit United States than
- 1:29:00any other airline. They've made an exclusive deal with Air France to get more
- 1:29:05people to Paris and Europe this summer based on the Olympics, and have discovered
- 1:29:11that nobody's booking Paris as a destination for that two week time that the Olympics
- 1:29:18are going to be happening. Now they say that the other destinations are picking
- 1:29:23up and people are wanting to go a whole lot of other places, but
- 1:29:27they expect to take one hundred million dollar loss for arranging all of this travel
- 1:29:32to the Olympics. I wonder what Paris and with that region are a lot
- 1:29:36of people are going to kind of travel around almost like I'm going to fly
- 1:29:46to Mono Carlo, right, right, and then just say and take a
- 1:29:49train into Paris that kind of thing. Yeah, we'll make it a day
- 1:29:54trip, right instead of just being in it, instead of being there for
- 1:29:59the full two weeks. And I wondered about that ass of just being in
- 1:30:02it. A lot of people have the fear that Paris could be one of
- 1:30:05those places where some kind of tragedy could happen and explosion, so maybe they're
- 1:30:12doing the whole I'll just kind of fly driving or training from cowhere else.
- 1:30:17Yeah, from the rule what I want to see. It'll be a day
- 1:30:20trip instead of a vacation, and we'll do other stuff because France is pretty
- 1:30:26that region is pretty weak to terrorist things and as far as the army and
- 1:30:30different things. So yeah, you are correct. Well, if you've ever
- 1:30:33been to Europe itself, the borders are merely like street signs here You'll be
- 1:30:43in Germany one minute and then you'll get to just a gate you're entering France.
- 1:30:48So a lot of people who they associate with terrorism have been there for
- 1:30:53years, their residents there, so when it comes time, those sensibilities heightened
- 1:31:00because they never really know and based on the previous what we've seen happening in
- 1:31:03Europe with terrorism and their targeting large events. Speaking of the Olympics, Jalen
- 1:31:10Brown was the bad producer fell overlooked by the Olympic team last week with Kawhi
- 1:31:17Leonard stepping down, UH, the Olympic team decided to add Derek White,
- 1:31:25one of Jalen Brown's teammates, to their Olympic team instead of Jalen Brown.
- 1:31:31Do you have an issue with that bad producer? I don't know if it's
- 1:31:35an issue with it. I mean there's a lot of players that was Jayalen
- 1:31:39Brown was left off. Kyrie, Well, let's start with Jalen Brown was
- 1:31:44left off. Yes, yeah, and you know you're the MVP of the
- 1:31:48finals, You're the leading player on your team. I don't understand how could
- 1:31:55you overlook him. I know that they were saying that they were was heavy
- 1:32:00at his position, so that's why they went with White. But at the
- 1:32:03same time, I'm just just like I said, you got the MVP of
- 1:32:08the NBA Finals, got two other teammates already on the team. My thing
- 1:32:15was, I mean you left off even Kyrie's left off the team. I've
- 1:32:17had a problem with that. I didn't understand that in the beginning. Why
- 1:32:20Kyrie and now Jalen Brown both has left off the team. So it's a
- 1:32:25little disappointing. Well, both teams, both of those players have had controversy
- 1:32:30against the country over the last handful of years. Remember they were making some
- 1:32:36statements. They made some statements. I'm quite sure that was part of the
- 1:32:44equation. Now, now, what what's Jalen Brown's umbrage with the United States?
- 1:32:48Because basically he basically stood up for Kyrie, you know, with with
- 1:32:54the side of Kyrie on his situation, and you know, and he was
- 1:33:00labeled. And then there's things where they're saying that Nike has something you know,
- 1:33:03in regards to that as well, say, so, who do you
- 1:33:09do you find it? I guess I'm more surprised that you find it surprising
- 1:33:15that when we're supposed to be representing the United States as a country they wouldn't
- 1:33:21want people who aren't supportive of the United States in the lineup. This is
- 1:33:28the Olympics, the world will be watching. We live in a world where
- 1:33:31media is welcomed and encouraged to ask any and everything they want. Why would
- 1:33:36I have people out there bad mouthing the company on a company retreat. We
- 1:33:44just and for you to say, like, you know, I take you
- 1:33:46didn't expect this. They didn't expect this, And I think that's interesting.
- 1:33:51How only in this country do we have a sense of entitlement and expectation that
- 1:33:59we bad mouth the country we come from and still represented and still reap the
- 1:34:03benefits of having been one of its chosen representatives. Well, I mean,
- 1:34:10like I said, he he has a problem with USA Basketball and Nike.
- 1:34:14He doesn't have a problem with the team or any of the players or anything
- 1:34:16like that. A problem with he has a problem with USA Basketball. That
- 1:34:23is the team and excuse me us the selection and committee. That's why I
- 1:34:28said, Nike is a part of that, and that's what one of the
- 1:34:30problems. And you asserted that part of their decision making may have been that
- 1:34:38these gentlemen made unfavorable comments towards and about the United States. And I'm saying
- 1:34:45that if you were seeking a job and people knew that you made bad comments
- 1:34:50about the company you wanted to work for, do you honestly think they would
- 1:34:55hire you? Would you feel the expectations We keep electing people to make comments
- 1:35:00about the United States, and they're sitting in Congress and different things now they
- 1:35:03make even we elect them and put them in those positions, and they feel
- 1:35:08sometimes things are they have bad mouths the United States. So I mean,
- 1:35:13I don't, like I said, I'm just a little disappointed. I thought
- 1:35:15he should have been on the team. I would quickly see that he wouldn't.
- 1:35:21He would be on my short list of superstars I know wouldn't be on
- 1:35:25the team. And I remember clearly how he was basically saying he wanted to
- 1:35:32move I think at one point and his when he was going through his rebels
- 1:35:40without without Paul's phase, that he wanted to move out of the United States.
- 1:35:45So I wouldn't put him on my team. And also they had to
- 1:35:49replace Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi Leonard plays guard, so they got Derek White,
- 1:35:54who also plays guard. That's kind of how you swap out positions. You
- 1:36:01don't get a point guard for shack, you get another center makes sense,
- 1:36:06which makes more sense. But Jalen Brown and this could be a growth for
- 1:36:11Jalen It like a lot of people, you want to be able to go
- 1:36:14say some things and then you don't want to have to own them things later
- 1:36:18when you want to do something else. And I talked about that on this
- 1:36:23show a lot when guys and I'm always telling them doing their career, Okay,
- 1:36:27now watch yourself because at some point you're gonna want to retire and you
- 1:36:30don't know what you want to do after that. But now you got some
- 1:36:35big old tattoo on the side of your cheek, or you've done something that
- 1:36:42now negates you from being able to get that job in your second life.
- 1:36:48But then you want people to forget you were, you know, your whole
- 1:36:53career for ten, twelve, fifteen years, you was a feeling well see
- 1:37:00you know that's that's it keeps coming up, y'all still on the y'all about
- 1:37:09the melony? Can I say this for Brown to be critical? He didn't
- 1:37:12directly. He just critic criticized Nike at the time when they were criticizing Kyrie,
- 1:37:17and he basically was saying, since when the Nike start to care about
- 1:37:20ethics? When it you know, when it came to the anti seminisms,
- 1:37:26uh, things that Kyrie was saying, and that's why, and that that's
- 1:37:30enough for them to I think there are people at Nike who have influence on
- 1:37:36that decision. Most of the team are Nike or Jordan Brand athletes, the
- 1:37:45exception being I think Steph Curry and Joel embiid Uh. But to go against
- 1:37:53the sponsor, to to criticize the sponsor, Nike can just say that's enough
- 1:38:00to like, no, don't pick that guy, we go with somebody else
- 1:38:03and criticism. Yeah, he right. And Jalen Brown also on top of
- 1:38:11that, doing his go Back to Africa movement, was taking a lot of
- 1:38:17political stances not being wrong people. I don't know why pointing out something makes
- 1:38:26people think you're saying the person was wrong. But he was going to a
- 1:38:30lot of rallies about people being shot, black kids being done this too,
- 1:38:38and he was talking in a way of black power. If you don't think
- 1:38:45that resonates down the road, right or wrong, you still have to own
- 1:38:49it. And I thought he was right. He wasn't wrong for making his
- 1:38:54stance. It wasn't nothing wrong with standing up. But now that choice can
- 1:39:00trickle down just as easy as picking the wrong shoe brand. You don't know
- 1:39:05where your shoe brand gonna have control. But you signed with Adidas. This
- 1:39:14camp is a niked camp up and they was like only and you was like

- 1:42:32to the Sportshock Show. I'm the Sportshock Wayne can team. We're talking about
- 1:42:36the Olympics. One thing about the basketball team, Uh, this should be
- 1:42:40some unique games to catch. Particular teams like the Greek team with Jannis,
- 1:42:48the Canadian KI team who have about nine current NBA players on it or something
- 1:42:56like that. Ten of their like twelve thirteen players are in the NBA.
- 1:43:00Not former NBA right or you know, not g league. These guys are
- 1:43:04on NBA rosters. Even last year we were reporting a third of the league
- 1:43:11is foreign born. Yeah, and we said it was like one hundred and
- 1:43:15sixty of the four fifty or something like that. Was so you got teams
- 1:43:19like Serbia. You got the French team. We know it's like seven or
- 1:43:25eight of them currently, so it's some tough competition. Do you think we'll
- 1:43:30ever stop allowing our current NBA players, regardless of what country they're from,
- 1:43:35to go back and play for their country against the U. I mean,
- 1:43:40you know, gonna stop them from I'm saying that if you go, if
- 1:43:44you're gonna play here professionally, how much well, I mean, that's why
- 1:43:47they really had to open it up because a lot of the players that were
- 1:43:50starting to come over from Europe, they would go back home and play for
- 1:43:54their their Olympic team. So I mean, I mean the region the reason
- 1:44:00the rules for most of the European players here now, so I mean we
- 1:44:03might as well. But the reason why there were why the why NBA players
- 1:44:09were we add them to the Olympic team is because we were sending the college
- 1:44:14guys. But the other countries were having guys play for eight, nine,
- 1:44:21ten years and still maintained their amateur status, so their professional as far as
- 1:44:26their maturity in the game, but they were more they were the college guys
- 1:44:30were playing against grown men. But I thought some of those guys that was
- 1:44:33on the European teams like they played professionally and there there with their prospective clubs
- 1:44:42at the time that I mean, they were still professionals, but they were
- 1:44:45still considered. I mean they would allow them to play. I mean it
- 1:44:49it opened up and for the ninety two Olympics, but before it was just
- 1:44:55guys playing for Like a guy like Oscar Schmid played for Brazil for years and
- 1:45:00he never actually played professionally and he was so he's like in his mid twenties,
- 1:45:09late twenties playing against these college players. And it was other countries like
- 1:45:15our Vita sabonus the same way. And one of the other challenges centering around
- 1:45:20a lot of those countries were sending teams, so they were not just coming
- 1:45:27together like we do have two or three weeks of practice and then go to
- 1:45:31the Olympics. They were sending a group of ten twelve men who had been
- 1:45:38team. Right, they've been playing together for years, Yeah, for years.
- 1:45:42And when you're talking about it in just one game scenario, a lot
- 1:45:46of times you get caught up, Oh, yeah, you did have the
- 1:45:48best players, but we were just playing one game. Dame had Dame hadn't
- 1:45:55got there. Yeah, you're out here trying to adjust to the free throw
- 1:45:59line and being a triangle or that you can't do this rule. Remember we
- 1:46:03would I know a lot of games we have to adjust to when you can
- 1:46:06get the ball off the rim because an international play you take it off the
- 1:46:12off the rim, and teams were beating with us with that. You know,
- 1:46:16our senators still there waiting on the ball to get off and they don't
- 1:46:19grabbed it off the rim and going the other way. So and he's trying
- 1:46:24to go to campaign to the ref did you see that? Or even traveling
- 1:46:30the NBA lets you travel internationally. The zero step, that's what they call.
- 1:46:34Yeah, but the international referees call that, they call it more legitimate,
- 1:46:41they call it more college what style? You get the two steps and
- 1:46:45you got to be off the ground. NBA they're not going to remove the
- 1:46:48spectacle of dunk just because you ran the way down four steps. So uh.
- 1:46:55The Olympics are always great with the basketball. Uh. And we are
- 1:46:59about two away from opening ceremonies as well. Pete Rose documentary is due out.
- 1:47:05Let Me Guess is on Netflix? No oh Man lost it to be
- 1:47:13Prime Video? No Hulu, No, Who's got it Disney Jenner, I
- 1:47:19don't know who Disney is. Hulu Darkad is for Disney Days. It's on
- 1:47:26Max or HBO Max Okay, Okaybo. So we're gonna get They're gonna get
- 1:47:31really ri it. Then Pete Rose documentary. They's gonna be real real raw.
- 1:47:38Okay, I want if Pete's gonna be in it? Yes he is,
- 1:47:42Okay, Charlie Hustle, Is that the name of it? Uh?
- 1:47:45Yeah, Charlie Hustle. The matter of Pete Rose? Because what what do
- 1:47:48we not know about the story? Has he not done interviews up to this
- 1:47:51point? Well, I guess since then he had been denying. He denied
- 1:47:58it for like twenty years. So now he come and clean, finally came
- 1:48:02clean in a way that like, okay, maybe now they'll unbanned me.
- 1:48:06And he still he's still banned. But his whole case was and still is.
- 1:48:15He didn't bet on when he was a player. Isn't that his stance?
- 1:48:19Yeah, team, he was the coach, he's saying, he's finally
- 1:48:24admitted it was more when he was the coach. Yeah, he was a
- 1:48:28manager. He said that on his team. But let me in as a
- 1:48:30player though, Okay, which they do send you in like a Jerry West,
- 1:48:39Jerry West player, he's in as an executive. You can go into
- 1:48:44Hall of Fame in two or three different ways. And I think that's where
- 1:48:48Pete Rose was trying to say, Hey, but as Charlie Hustle, right
- 1:48:53right, y'all don't have nothing against me. Now as Pete rolled as a
- 1:48:58manager man, you know, maybe maybe the ball, but I played with
- 1:49:03Ken Griffrey that kind of mind set. He's flitting hairs and I think major
- 1:49:10League Baseball, And as I said, I really believe it's one of them
- 1:49:13things that they will but they're not gonna let Pete to see it. See
- 1:49:17it, and Pete right at his induction will be If Pete were here,
- 1:49:25I'm sure he would be saying, yeah, they want to skip the hole
- 1:49:29where he gets to go up to the podium and speak right about it.

- 1:50:00remember thinking I want to be happy. Why don't I feel that way?
- 1:50:03It was hard to admit that, even to my doctor, but I'm glad
- 1:50:06I did. She told me it was postpartum depression and that is very treatable.
- 1:50:11These days, things are feeling good and we're both happier about that.
- 1:50:14Right, little man, I'll take that as a yes. Mental healthcare is

- 1:51:33for a school board when we put a spin on life and sports and how
- 1:51:39they intermingle. On the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy. Microphone check of
- 1:51:56swing and swatle Jack closing down the sect off the frame back protector better one
- 1:52:00of them, can't miss the mess. Thumb form and pop popped up with
- 1:52:02lad from the Press. Hum to Hop a TV worshop shop the sports Shock
- 1:52:08Wing candy for you that go to Target and like to shop at Target.
- 1:52:13Target will no longer accept personal checks at Target starting today, so you won't
- 1:52:20be able to write a personal check, which in this table would only be
- 1:52:25me since I'm the only person who still believes believes in the American flag of
- 1:52:30an ink check. And weiency you know you're still killing trees if that's what
- 1:52:41you know? What I mean you in commands your greg, y'all kill trees
- 1:52:45to what we killed trees with with the beep, with the chim he's talking
- 1:52:49about a different kind of tree. I'll be killing him even sports your chick
- 1:52:56writing possibly couldn't even approach the amount of vegetation that I've murdered in my time.
- 1:53:02And we both certain things still required check. I still write a check.
- 1:53:09They don't have the machine like when you write the check any sticking in
- 1:53:12and verify right there. Just Target will no longer accept personal check. And
- 1:53:16I was today years old when I learned the Target was even still accepted personal
- 1:53:21check. Who does that? Like y'all actually will pull something out at a
- 1:53:26place and write with ink and a whole find something required that like still if
- 1:53:32you're doing the order, So they say you still got to like you ninety
- 1:53:36not have a cent of my checks or just for bills and the mail bills.
- 1:53:40You you used the mail man. You can't trust that automated man.
- 1:53:45I believe in the American way. You do you do because this is true.
- 1:53:49The mail system is a system that keeps jobs going. Yeah, and
- 1:53:56the story I was about to share maybe part of what is happening. The
- 1:54:00last time I actually went into a place to pay a utility bill. When
- 1:54:05I got there, the place had moved to a new location. And maybe
- 1:54:12that's the problem is we're not doing enough business with these places. They can't
- 1:54:16afford to stay in the low. So I mean, because that's how long
- 1:54:19it's been since checks and like bill paying in person, that is like,
- 1:54:26stop with that. Y'all really do that? Yes, but that automated,
- 1:54:30that automated stuff. Man, it's not trustworthy. Hey, it eventually work
- 1:54:34out. It eventually worked out. I've gotten patient. Now call have mercy
- 1:54:41and mercy with paper and everything with They got a logo like a team check.
- 1:54:51It looks it's almost like a little paper debit card. That's what it
- 1:54:56looked like, a little payer data call saying they got the very verification system.
- 1:55:02And see, because my children don't even carry wallets and cars, they
- 1:55:06just carry a phone and just hold the phone. Somebody just told me the
- 1:55:11other day. They was like, they was like, pay with Apple Pay.
- 1:55:13I don't have Apple I've never said. And then they started laughing at
- 1:55:15me and said, how you know everybody has Apple Pay. You just one
- 1:55:18of the few I don't have. They say, I don't even have a
- 1:55:21cash They say that we have it on our phone. It's some kind of
- 1:55:26way it works if you if you put the card on the phone and then
- 1:55:30you tap the No, I'm not any of that. Yeah, that's what
- 1:55:33I'm saying. Ain't doing that crap list sports got some cash, I got
- 1:55:39a credit card. The Apple pay thing. I thought my kids were stealing
- 1:55:45and they just went away, and I was like, it works for how
- 1:55:48I like the process and manage my accounting. Some of you like to manage
- 1:55:57your accounting differently. I like to feel a certain way. It feels easy
- 1:56:04and something that can get away from me by just tapping this card. Yes,
- 1:56:13but when I write that check, it makes me feel like I need
- 1:56:16to turn off some lights. Mm hmmm. Did I just write a nine
- 1:56:26for the lights for some somebody that I have to have family meeting for that?
- 1:56:35Wrong? Y'all come in with my app. Look look at this,
- 1:56:42everybody look at it. No, I'll send you the link. Look at
- 1:56:45this, everybody, look at this. It just hit different and that and
- 1:56:49that the term it hit different. It hit different when you write it out
- 1:56:54like that, and you actually have your brain because remember, uh, the
- 1:56:58brain process is greater writing. Yes, then it does anything. Yes,
- 1:57:03that's how I wants to think about it. You know. That's how I
- 1:57:06commit my material to memory. That's the only thing I don't use technology for
- 1:57:13is writing comedy material. I actually do the old paper pen because it commits
- 1:57:17it to memory. Memory faster when you do it that way. Uh.
- 1:57:20You people that rent airbnbs with your little debit cards, big Kenny, Uh,
- 1:57:26that's not the problem. Watch out some of these airbingbs for you,
- 1:57:30for you that still do that, have still have their cameras up. So
- 1:57:35remember the camera is not like you know, they took the camera system down,
- 1:57:43so the camera system is still up and a lot of people are finding
- 1:57:45that you're on camera still allegedly I'm allegedly got me on camera still Listen.
- 1:57:54I just want to say that I'm whatever debauchery you got going on, legally
- 1:57:59or alleged debauchery. Just remember that as you go through that. That's and
- 1:58:04that's something that for me resonates because Airbnb is supposed to be the satellite debauchery
- 1:58:14thing. We go here, we're gonna rent this out. We can be
- 1:58:17ourselves in the Airbnb not knowing that the whole thing has been filmed. You
- 1:58:25know what, we just go to the court and testify if they were just
- 1:58:29letting them film the whole I thought they had a law now nationally that that
- 1:58:31can't be done anymore. It has to be the real world disconnected. That's
- 1:58:36didn't they didn't They pass that federal law that airbnbs now can't unless it's a
- 1:58:43common area. Stayed at airb I'm gonna go back to regular hotel. Yeah,
- 1:58:53I never stayed at the Airbnb. So yeah, man, I'm looking
- 1:58:56for one to make me stop. We looking for one for new Just give
- 1:58:59you hen I'm telling you because I had showed out come clean. I'm gonna
- 1:59:06go ahead and come clean now. I done got sideways at the Airba,
- 1:59:11and I'm sorry in the ocean. The truth is he will throw your in
- 1:59:17the ocean. It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Junk Show with
- 1:59:23d Wayne Candy when you decided that Ocean gives a sports shot testamented to Ben.
- 1:59:50Would like to thank you for tuning in to today's show. Remember,
- 1:59:55as we go off air, you can go to Audible, Spotify, Dzer,
- 2:00:00Amazon Podcast, Apple Podcasts, or iHeartRadio and catch us on the replay.
- 2:00:09MC kenny Comanchi, Greg Bad producer, thank you for your contributions today.
- 2:00:14The SBO Wars were last week. Serena the Great Williams was the host
- 2:00:23and as they do, at some point in the show, they show you
- 2:00:26the people that have passed away in the last calendar year. People like the
- 2:00:34Great Willie Mays, Jerry West, Bill Walton, Larry Allen were a part
- 2:00:44of the video. But there was one person that fall and that was the
- 2:00:51juice O. J. Simpson being left off at the end in the memory
- 2:00:59portion of those that are lost. And I just find how ironic that is
- 2:01:04for ESPN that you made a lot of money reporting on OJ. Matter of
- 2:01:13fact, if I clicked on right now, y'all might be having an OJ
- 2:01:15special on thirty for thirty. Who knows they might have a But then in
- 2:01:21death you wouldn't put the man at least and give him the credit for what
- 2:01:26he did in sports, we would have to dig up a lot of people
- 2:01:32that I'm quite sure, and it's some people. So you're not gonna put
- 2:01:35Lawrence Taylor when he passes. It's some people that's still alive that got some
- 2:01:41payment that they are doo for what they've already done. And I just think
- 2:01:47that when you have something like this, you include all or you don't do
- 2:01:53it at all. Violations of the sport is one thing. But what OJ
- 2:01:59did it as a player and what OJ did as a man two different things.
- 2:02:05And I just thought ESPN for the kind of coverage y'all go, y'all,
- 2:02:11kind of birth y'all dominance off of OJ, and for that sp Awards
- 2:02:19walked up blank the Jews. We just dang, I thought it was r
- 2:02:34I P. I thought it was I think that, Yeah, I thought
- 2:02:40that's not how people. I was hoping you throwing Stephen A in that because
- 2:02:43of what he said about it. Everybody against the Jews, everybody against the
- 2:02:48Jews. From the Sports Shock Show. We'll see you late in the week. Peace,
