- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chilly Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
- 0:04Speaker 1: one wash Up out.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Halfway through another week, Man, it's just been the longest
- 0:08Speaker 2: week ever. Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven
- 0:11Speaker 2: point one wash FM. It's Wednesday, but it feels like
- 0:14Speaker 2: it should be Friday. But you know, we're halfway through.
- 0:18Speaker 2: We can make it there. We'll get there together. So
- 0:21Speaker 2: why are you feeling good this morning? There's a reason
- 0:23Speaker 2: why before at five o'clock most people feel good, and
- 0:26Speaker 2: I think it has something to do with you getting
- 0:29Speaker 2: up in the morning and deciding that today is going
- 0:31Speaker 2: to be a good day.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Chili, why are you feeling good?
- 0:34Speaker 4: I'm feeling good. Well, it is Earth Day, first of all,
- 0:36Speaker 4: it started back in nineteen seventy. A little history lesson there, right,
- 0:40Speaker 4: But I'm feeling good because the kids in the neighborhood,
- 0:43Speaker 4: because the weather's been so nice, have been outside playing
- 0:46Speaker 4: for hours and hours until it's dusk. And that reminds
- 0:50Speaker 4: me of the good old days when we were growing up,
- 0:52Speaker 4: So it brings me joy.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I'd love to see it.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I loved it when the time changed and it was
- 0:59Speaker 2: dark till eight o'clock ninth correct and then I hated
- 1:02Speaker 2: it when I got in trouble and I would be
- 1:03Speaker 2: grounded and I'd have to go to bed. Like it's
- 1:05Speaker 2: seven point thirty A long story, but you know, nonetheless,
- 1:10Speaker 2: my friends they play it as the sun set. You're right,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you're onto something, you know what, I'm feeling good today.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I'm feeling great today because the truth is, I had
- 1:20Speaker 2: physical therapy yesterday and there's just something about the way
- 1:24Speaker 2: they stretch my knee out. It's just a little thing,
- 1:28Speaker 2: but I don't know what it is. But like, like
- 1:30Speaker 2: in the morning, first thing, I'm like very very like pained,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and then I go to physical therapy and they spend
- 1:38Speaker 2: time like just stretching out hamstrings and stuff, and then
- 1:41Speaker 2: all of a sudden, I feel good for the rest
- 1:42Speaker 2: of the day. So well, you know, now I have
- 1:46Speaker 2: to deal with today until Thursday. But you know what, Hey,
- 1:49Speaker 2: that's tomorrow, and I can make it okay, and I'll
- 1:51Speaker 2: just run with what I got from yesterday. God willing,
- 1:54Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM. Why you're feeling good?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Hit us up eight six six nine two seven forty
- 1:59Speaker 2: three six share with us while because joy is contagious.
- 2:03Speaker 2: In the meantime, hangout for the news. Top stories at
- 2:05Speaker 2: top of the hour. What's going on.
- 2:07Speaker 4: There was a special election in Virginia yesterday and voters
- 2:11Speaker 4: approved a redistricting referendum that could let Democrats gain a
- 2:16Speaker 4: major advantage in the upcoming mid terms. We've got the
- 2:18Speaker 4: latest on that coming up in just a few minutes.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Voters in Virginia approved a redistricting referendum that could let
- 2:30Speaker 4: Democrats redraw congressional maps and also gain a major advantage
- 2:33Speaker 4: in upcoming midterms. Democrats argue that it counters Republican actions
- 2:38Speaker 4: that were taken in states like Texas. The President said
- 2:42Speaker 4: he is extending the ceasefire with Iran, citing the country's
- 2:46Speaker 4: quote seriously fractured government and delaying any US attack until
- 2:51Speaker 4: its leaders present a unified proposal now. He also confirmed
- 2:54Speaker 4: the US naval blockade of the Street of Hormuz will
- 2:57Speaker 4: remain in place. The Council has given initial approval to
- 3:02Speaker 4: making a youth curfew permanent, but they postponed a decision
- 3:06Speaker 4: on an emergency extension. Lawmakers remain divided as officials debate
- 3:11Speaker 4: how to address public safety concerns that are tied to
- 3:14Speaker 4: teen gatherings. A relatively new Virginia red flag law is
- 3:19Speaker 4: helping keep guns out of potentially dangerous situations, with Fairfax
- 3:23Speaker 4: County reporting hundreds of cases since it took effect in
- 3:27Speaker 4: twenty twenty. Officials say the law allows courts to step
- 3:31Speaker 4: in when someone is considered an immediate threat. Now, if
- 3:34Speaker 4: you're not careful about what goes into your recycling bin,
- 3:38Speaker 4: it might not get picked up. In Leesburg if the
- 3:41Speaker 4: crews spot things like food or plastic bags or batteries,
- 3:44Speaker 4: are going to leave the bin behind with a tag
- 3:46Speaker 4: explaining what needs to be fixed before they come back
- 3:49Speaker 4: a couple of days later. And according to a recent study,
- 3:54Speaker 4: DC ranks as the top big city for new college grads.
- 3:58Speaker 4: That's thanks to strong job availability and also entry level
- 4:02Speaker 4: opportunities across multiple industries. The report says that graduates can
- 4:07Speaker 4: earn around eighty thousand dollars a year, although higher housing
- 4:10Speaker 4: costs remain a challenge. Forecast for today, it's going to
- 4:15Speaker 4: be warmer than it was yesterday. Chance of some scattered
- 4:19Speaker 4: showers this morning, but otherwise cloudy and highs in the
- 4:25Speaker 4: mid seventies. Right now, it is fifty three in McClain.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Now that you've got the news, hang out because we
- 4:32Speaker 2: want to share something with you that we think might
- 4:35Speaker 2: be able to help you as you take on a
- 4:37Speaker 2: brand new day. Or He'lly and Chilly in the Morning
- 4:39Speaker 2: at ninety seven point one wash FM, your morning mindset,
- 4:42Speaker 2: words that inspire, We hope on the way in just minutes,
- 4:47Speaker 2: ninety seven point one WASHFM plays Washington's Variety of the eighties, nineties,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and today. When you wake up with us or Ty'll
- 4:54Speaker 2: Be and Chilly in the morning, thank you for letting
- 4:56Speaker 2: us be a part of your routine as you get
- 4:58Speaker 2: into a brand new day.
- 5:00Speaker 4: We want to share a quote with you, hopefully to
- 5:02Speaker 4: get you into a good morning mindset. Something to think about.
- 5:04Speaker 2: So think about what Billy Jean King, the great tennis player,
- 5:09Speaker 2: once said. She said, pressure is a privilege. Pressure is
- 5:13Speaker 2: a privilege, says Billy Jean King. You might be saying, no,
- 5:17Speaker 2: it's not. Maybe you just have an aversion to pressure. Well,
- 5:20Speaker 2: let me lay this on you. When you feel pressure,
- 5:24Speaker 2: that means that something meaningful is happening. That's why you're
- 5:28Speaker 2: going through pressure.
- 5:30Speaker 3: You know.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Pressure is that thing in life that can try to
- 5:33Speaker 2: talk you out of leaning into it. And I don't
- 5:36Speaker 2: know about you, but pressure can make things better. Think
- 5:40Speaker 2: about how a diamond comes from coal pressure. Lean into
- 5:43Speaker 2: the pressure today because that's where your growth lives. Billy
- 5:47Speaker 2: Jean King with your morning mindset today. Pressure is a privilege.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Keep that in mind and let us know if it
- 5:52Speaker 2: helps you out, all right, and if you need to
- 5:54Speaker 2: grab it, you can find it to Toby and chilipage
- 5:57Speaker 2: WASCHFM dot com on Insta, Facebook and all of the things.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Stay right there because coming up next, you.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Know, promposals are a thing. These kids get very creative
- 6:08Speaker 4: on how they're asking the other person to prom So
- 6:10Speaker 4: what is a funny or creative promposal story you've got?
- 6:15Speaker 2: Eight six six ninet two seven forty three sixty one
- 6:18Speaker 2: is the number. Feel free to call out lay it
- 6:20Speaker 2: on us or if it's easy. You're tapped the talk
- 6:22Speaker 2: back microphone because you're listening on your iHeart app right
- 6:25Speaker 2: now and you're signed in, so try it. If you've
- 6:27Speaker 2: never tried it before, you'd be surprised. It comes right
- 6:30Speaker 2: to us here in the studio. We'll get into it
- 6:32Speaker 2: coming up. Eight sixty six ninety two, seven forty three
- 6:35Speaker 2: sixty one.
- 6:35Speaker 3: That is the number.
- 6:36Speaker 2: If you want to jump into this conversation because once
- 6:38Speaker 2: upon a time you pulled up a pretty impressive prom posal,
- 6:42Speaker 2: or Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven
- 6:44Speaker 2: point one watch FM.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Seems like these proposals get more and more elaborate. So
- 6:48Speaker 4: there's a high school senior in Ohio that actually hired
- 6:52Speaker 4: a plane for his promposal. He saved up all his
- 6:55Speaker 4: lawn care business money for that airborne banner. Good for you, honey.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Hopefully she said yes.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yes, from your lips to God's ears, because if she
- 7:03Speaker 2: said no and you spend all that money on a plane,
- 7:05Speaker 2: there'd be no amount of crying.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I wouldn't do. I don't know about you, sir.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Yeah, And I'm starting to see on social media a
- 7:12Speaker 4: lot of local folks hosting their kids promposals and they
- 7:15Speaker 4: are very clever right on.
- 7:17Speaker 2: So if you're listening today and you have a promposal
- 7:20Speaker 2: in front of you, we got to hear your stories
- 7:23Speaker 2: this morning, and we'll start with one from Angela, who's
- 7:25Speaker 2: here from Kensington. So take us down promposal Lane.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Last year, my daughter, who was on the Mersity basketball
- 7:32Speaker 6: teams cheerleading squad, she was out for an injury. So
- 7:35Speaker 6: She's still going to the game watching them all this,
- 7:38Speaker 6: and her boyfriend got to be the high school mapshot
- 7:41Speaker 6: for a bag game and she had all of her
- 7:43Speaker 6: friends on the Chilian squaw holding these signs up like
- 7:46Speaker 6: they do to get the cloud poms, like go team,
- 7:48Speaker 6: go to visit Lizzie, will you go to prom with?
- 7:52Speaker 6: And then he was holding up me and that he
- 7:54Speaker 6: pulled his up. After the content meet, he wrote his
- 7:57Speaker 6: little helmeting he up to reveal it with him. Then
- 7:59Speaker 6: he got her so cute.
- 8:01Speaker 4: That is adorable a public display of interest.
- 8:06Speaker 2: You just made my heart go pitter patter. Thank you, Angela.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Have a great day in Kensington down to Ashburn, Kayla.
- 8:12Speaker 2: This promposal, I understand it was tasty.
- 8:16Speaker 7: A friend of my sons was trying to figure out
- 8:20Speaker 7: how to promposl to his girlfriend and he worked at
- 8:23Speaker 7: a pizza place and she had no idea that he
- 8:25Speaker 7: was going to do this, but he delivered a pizza
- 8:27Speaker 7: to her house and on the box it said I
- 8:31Speaker 7: know this seems cheesy, and then he opened it and
- 8:35Speaker 7: with Pepperonis it says prom even with.
- 8:38Speaker 4: A crush start in Preperoni and they celebrated with a
- 8:41Speaker 4: slice afterwards.
- 8:42Speaker 2: And they went to prom and they all lived happily
- 8:45Speaker 2: ever after. Well, I mean it sounds like a fairy
- 8:48Speaker 2: tale to me. Prom Posles, you got a story to
- 8:51Speaker 2: share with the class. You know where to find us.
- 8:53Speaker 2: In the meantime, stay with Toby and Chilly in the morning.

- 10:18Speaker 4: delegation to attend to one Democratic advantage, with supporters saying
- 10:22Speaker 4: that it counters Republican led redistricting efforts in other states
- 10:27Speaker 4: like Texas. The President said he is extending the ceasefire
- 10:31Speaker 4: with Iran at Pakistan's request while waiting for a quote
- 10:35Speaker 4: unified proposal from Iran. Meanwhile, the US military continues it's
- 10:40Speaker 4: blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. An eighteen year old

- 10:49Speaker 4: multiple classmates at Fairfax High School, Israel. Ortiz received credit
- 10:53Speaker 4: for time served after his April tenth conviction. A federal
- 10:58Speaker 4: judge has blocked a plan to remove protected bike lanes
- 11:01Speaker 4: along Fifteenth Street near the National Mall, citing the need
- 11:05Speaker 4: for a more thorough environmental review. The Federal Highway Administration
- 11:09Speaker 4: had argued that the change would ease traffic for major events.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Well after nearly seven decades, Ben's Chili Bowl is set

- 11:57Speaker 2: And that is the news, Toby at Chilly in the morning.
- 12:00Speaker 2: You get your news in the form of top stories.
- 12:02Speaker 2: It's the top of the hour. Ninety seven point one
- 12:04Speaker 2: was Chef Hey. Rebecca's on the phone, She's from Lorton.
- 12:08Speaker 2: She has a situation. She wants to run by us Chili.
- 12:13Speaker 2: She would like to know if she should be stressing
- 12:16Speaker 2: out about something that has to do with her relationship.
- 12:20Speaker 4: We love giving relationship advice.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yes, even though sometimes we're not very good. Well me,
- 12:24Speaker 2: I'm not very good at taking it. Stay right there,
- 12:27Speaker 2: we'll get to this, Becca. Hang on in minutes. We're
- 12:31Speaker 2: Toby at Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point
- 12:34Speaker 2: one WASCHEFM and we're joined by Becca and Lorton. Becca
- 12:39Speaker 2: has a problem. She wants to run by us, and
- 12:42Speaker 2: it's a relationship situation.
- 12:44Speaker 4: We always love to hear this. Thanks so much for
- 12:46Speaker 4: calling Rebecca. What's up?
- 12:48Speaker 7: Hey?
- 12:48Speaker 8: So I've been giving this guy for almost a year
- 12:51Speaker 8: now and he still hasn't given me a key to
- 12:54Speaker 8: his plate. And I'm just like, is this a red flag?
- 12:57Speaker 8: Is this normal? I don't know. I feel like a
- 13:00Speaker 8: year is a substantial amount of time, and.
- 13:02Speaker 9: You guys always give good advice.
- 13:04Speaker 8: So I was like, let me just reach out and
- 13:06Speaker 8: see whatever in all things.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Well, Beca, I'm glad you did, because it does indeed
- 13:11Speaker 2: sound like you have yourself a situation Chilly. You're you're married.
- 13:15Speaker 2: You married the guy you were dating for a while.
- 13:17Speaker 2: When did Dawn, your husband, give you a key to
- 13:19Speaker 2: his place?
- 13:20Speaker 7: You know?
- 13:20Speaker 4: He never did. He never did the entire time we
- 13:23Speaker 4: were dating. And I never thought of it as a
- 13:25Speaker 4: sign of problems. I didn't go over there that much.
- 13:29Speaker 4: You never asked for a key, no, And I would
- 13:31Speaker 4: just look at it like this. If the opens the
- 13:34Speaker 4: door when you show up, that's fine, right, That's all
- 13:38Speaker 4: that really matters. Do you think that this is a
- 13:40Speaker 4: red flag?
- 13:41Speaker 3: I do?
- 13:42Speaker 2: I do, because like, in about seven months into us
- 13:45Speaker 2: actually being in a relationship, you gave your girl and
- 13:48Speaker 2: my girlfriend the key. But Becka, I can't really compare
- 13:51Speaker 2: that to your situation because you would not have called
- 13:53Speaker 2: us had this not been a problem to you, had
- 13:56Speaker 2: you not been thinking about it. So I'm thinking you
- 13:58Speaker 2: probably need to find some sort of creative way to
- 14:01Speaker 2: bring it up, Like, hey, I was thinking I'd like
- 14:03Speaker 2: to have a key to your place, you know, because
- 14:05Speaker 2: if you don't bring it up, then it's gonna become
- 14:07Speaker 2: a full blown red flag.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's just our thoughts on this. What do
- 14:12Speaker 4: you think do you think this is a red flag
- 14:14Speaker 4: for Becca that she still doesn't have the keys to
- 14:16Speaker 4: her boyfriend's place after a year together.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty you
- 14:21Speaker 2: want or tap that talkback microphone if you're listening on
- 14:23Speaker 2: your iHeart app right now, let's give Becca some advice. Becca,
- 14:27Speaker 2: you hang on, We're gonna pull the class and we'll
- 14:29Speaker 2: circle back in just a few Thank you. Let's get
- 14:32Speaker 2: back at it here at ninety seven point one, watch
- 14:35Speaker 2: FM Toby and Chilly in the morning. Becca from Lorton's
- 14:37Speaker 2: on the line because this morning she has herself a
- 14:41Speaker 2: relationship situation.
- 14:43Speaker 3: She ran by Chili and I.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Yeah, so her boyfriend of a year still has not
- 14:48Speaker 4: given her the keys to his place, and she's wondering
- 14:50Speaker 4: if it's a red flag.
- 14:52Speaker 2: And we told her we would talk to you about
- 14:55Speaker 2: it at eight six six nine two seven forty three
- 14:57Speaker 2: sixty one, or if you tap the talkback Mike her
- 15:00Speaker 2: phone and leave us your thoughts. Eric and Tinley Town,
- 15:03Speaker 2: you're up first. What do you think about this situation
- 15:06Speaker 2: that Becca has found herself in.
- 15:08Speaker 9: I don't think a year is necessary, like not obligatory
- 15:12Speaker 9: to give somebody the key to your home. It's kind
- 15:14Speaker 9: of weird to expect.
- 15:15Speaker 4: That Okay, what if she needed the keys to get
- 15:18Speaker 4: in for something.
- 15:19Speaker 9: Yeah, I would let them borrow the key maybe if
- 15:21Speaker 9: they needed it. But I don't think it's like an
- 15:23Speaker 9: obligatory thing to like give them their own key.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Right, because it's your opinion that you need your own
- 15:28Speaker 2: space exactly, because isn't it true? You think that's how
- 15:32Speaker 2: it starts. First they want the key, then they move
- 15:34Speaker 2: right to the living room, take your seat, and they
- 15:36Speaker 2: want your remote control.
- 15:38Speaker 9: Low control is a bigger deal, I think.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Mm hmmm, Eric, sounds like you need to be single
- 15:42Speaker 4: for a minute. Well, thanks so much for sharing your
- 15:46Speaker 4: thoughts in Woodbridge. Tommy, what do you think red flag
- 15:50Speaker 4: or no?
- 15:50Speaker 10: I mean, how she asked for one? He might just
- 15:52Speaker 10: not be thinking about it. I do think it's time,
- 15:53Speaker 10: but she might just have to literally ask before it happens,
- 15:56Speaker 10: you know, he may not just put it in her hands.
- 15:57Speaker 4: So you're thinking Becca needs to nudge the guy a
- 16:00Speaker 4: little bit totally.
- 16:01Speaker 10: If it's like it has it come up as she
- 16:03Speaker 10: needed to get in there when he's not there, Maybe
- 16:04Speaker 10: it just hasn't been a necessity and he's not thinking.
- 16:06Speaker 6: About it at all.
- 16:06Speaker 2: All valid points, Tommy, and very very Fair. Thank you
- 16:10Speaker 2: for jumping into the conversation today.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I love listen.
- 16:13Speaker 4: I'm glad I got through today.
- 16:14Speaker 2: You guys are awesome things and Tommy, you two kind
- 16:16Speaker 2: Thank you for listening. And now let's grab beca What
- 16:19Speaker 2: are you gonna do? You've heard what Tommy and Eric
- 16:22Speaker 2: had to say.
- 16:23Speaker 8: I mean, I'm just going to bring it up because
- 16:25Speaker 8: I feel like it. You know, it might not be
