- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:41hypnosis session specifically for a client with post COVID
- 0:46fatigue, which was very negatively affecting the quality
- 0:51of their life. Exhaustion, brain fog, lots of
- 0:56horrible symptoms that made it very difficult to live their
- 0:59life in the way that they did in the in the past.
- 1:01But they were about to embark on ketamine infusion therapy as a
- 1:06form of treatment to enhance neuroplasticity and to have
- 1:11elements of symptom alleviation. And what this hypnosis session
- 1:16is all about is about giving clear suggestions about hope,
- 1:23optimism and a frame of setting the intention.
- 1:28To look for. Progress rather than have this
- 1:30feeling of very high expectations that if they're not
- 1:34met, could feel like an emotional rug pull.
- 1:38So at its core, this is really about enhancing what was about
- 1:45to be a form of therapy that could be useful.
- 1:50Now. Ketamine was originally known as
- 1:54a horse tranquilizer. Some people used it as a
- 1:57recreational drug. But if you go on Google Scholar
- 2:01and you look at ketamine treatment, what you'll actually
- 2:04see is that really there is lots and lots of studies now about
- 2:07using ketamine for neuroplasticity and cognitive
- 2:11elements that can help with things like severe anxiety and
- 2:14depression and fatigue. And so therefore, this isn't
- 2:18encouraging people to use ketamine, you know, let's say
- 2:23illegally or just kind of on the fly.
- 2:25This client was using it as part of therapeutic treatment under
- 2:31very experienced supervision. And the hypnosis is designed to
- 2:35complement that. So if you are embarking on
- 2:38ketamine therapy, maybe this session is useful, but it might
- 2:41not be the case that you have post COVID fatigue, maybe you
- 2:44have a different condition. I would say it might be helpful
- 2:47if you are embarking on ketamine therapy and you want to believe
- 2:51that it's going to have good results for you.
- 2:54And this session also might be useful if you have long COVID or
- 2:57post COVID fatigue and you want to have more hope and to notice
- 3:02more progress and to feel less disempowered.
- 3:05If you have these kind of setbacks and and kind of moments
- 3:09of really severe fatigue, then it might be useful.
- 3:12But if you're listening to this, not all of the suggestions are
- 3:16going to be relevant for you because it was created for an
- 3:19individual client with very specific symptoms and and
- 3:23circumstances. So if you like the idea of
- 3:25something a bit more bespoke, if you click the more about the
- 3:29show link or description or show notes, it will expand and you'll
- 3:34see various resources on there, free courses, free downloads,
- 3:38but also the ability to schedule a completely free consultation
- 3:42call to explore working with me. We'll do that on Zoom.
- 3:46We'll have a chat, I can learn more about what your situation
- 3:49is and what you are looking to achieve and I can maybe share
- 3:53some experiences with other clients that might give you a
- 3:56sense of clarity as to what I can do and how many sessions it
- 4:00may take. So if that's useful, check out
- 4:02that in the show notes or you can visit my website, which is.
- 4:05Adam Cox dot. Co.uk because I'm UK based, so
- 4:10you can explore that as well. Now the other thing to mention
- 4:14is that even though I'm UK based, most of my clients aren't
- 4:17in the UK. This client, for example, was
- 4:19not UK based. Most of my clients these days
- 4:22are not in the UK. So some people think because
- 4:24they hear my British accent that if they're, let's say, in the
- 4:28States, Australia, Canada or somewhere else in the world,
- 4:31they're not going to be able to work with me.
- 4:34What's worth you knowing is that most of the sessions you hear on
- 4:36this podcast are me working with clients where I'm in the UK and
- 4:40they're in a different part of the world.
- 4:42So certainly that's a possibility even if you're not
- 4:45based in the UK. Some people that are based in
- 4:47the UK actually want to see me in person.
- 4:49And this studio here, if you're seeing the video version of
- 4:52this, they sit just to my left here and we do the session in
- 4:56person, but most clients take place remotely where I'm in my
- 4:59recording studio there normally in their own home.
- 5:02And we do the session that way. So if that's of interest,
- 5:05certainly check out that consultation call.
- 5:08We'll have a chat. I can explain the process.
- 5:10For now, though, you might get some value from this session.
- 5:12So find a quiet, comfortable place, ideally in the kind of
- 5:16environment where you're not going to be distracted or
- 5:18disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:38And as you breathe in, breathe in that calm, relaxing breath.
- 5:47And as you exhale, feel a feeling of release and relief,
- 5:58as if tension, stress, any worries or fatigue is gently
- 6:09starting to leave your body in each and every outward breath,
- 6:21breathing in relaxation, exhaling tension.
- 6:27Each breath takes you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:36In fact, the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 6:45And the more relaxed you feel the deeper you breathe.
- 6:53So just allow your body to settle.
- 6:57If you need to adjust yourself to feel even more comfortable,
- 7:03just allow that to happen now. And notice with your eyes closed
- 7:10how much easier it becomes to focus on my words, their
- 7:18meanings, and any interpretations.
- 7:26And you may begin to notice your breath slowing down, deepening,
- 7:34and not just breathing from the chest, but as you exhale
- 7:39completely, notice your breath gets lower, deeper down toward
- 7:47your diaphragm. Notice that rhythm of rising and
- 7:54falling like waves on a quiet riverbank.
- 8:01And what if each breath is a message to your body that you
- 8:09are safe, that you are supported and you can really rest and
- 8:17relax? Now the world can pause for a
- 8:25moment so that your nervous system can settle, so your body
- 8:34can really relax, and your mind can be open to wonderful
- 8:42possibilities. With each exhale, allow it to
- 8:54last a little longer and that you bring you to release a
- 9:02little bit more of whatever you're holding onto, allowing
- 9:07your muscles to melt away any tension to allow your thoughts
- 9:14to slow down now, allowing the space around you to become
- 9:22quieter, calmer, safer. Right here, right now.
- 9:34This is your sanctuary, a place where healing begins simply
- 9:42through stillness. And as you relax, allow your
- 9:51imagination to take you back to a stream you've imagined before.
- 10:02You know the one. The one with stepping stones and
- 10:07that bridge arching across the water.
- 10:12And what if this place feels familiar now, like an internal
- 10:19landscape inside you, A place that represents your healing
- 10:27journey, sometimes slow and sometimes surprising.
- 10:37But in the long term, imagine the trend is moving forward and
- 10:46I wonder if you can imagine yourself walking along a path
- 10:53towards the steps that descend to the water's edge.
- 11:01With each step that I count, allow yourself to drift deeper
- 11:07into calm, deeper into trust, deeper into possibility. 10
- 11:22Stepping down and nine. Feeling lighter 8.
- 11:29Drifting inward 7. Each muscle relaxes a little bit
- 11:40more 6 Sinking into a a deeper feeling of quietness five.
- 11:52Halfway there and then four, your mind opening, and three,
- 12:03peace and tranquility starting to spread there from your lungs
- 12:10to every part of your body. And then two close to the edge
- 12:15now, and one deeply calm now, when you've arrived beside the
- 12:25stream, the water moving with a quiet, steady rhythm, not
- 12:33rushing, not pushing, just flowing naturally forward, just
- 12:42like you. And what if now, in this calm,
- 12:48in a place you can bring to mind your upcoming therapy, not
- 12:59talking therapy and not hypnotherapy?
- 13:03I want you to think about ketamine infusion therapy.
- 13:10And I want you to set the intention that you will embark
- 13:17on this not with expectation, with a sense of appreciation for
- 13:26the possibility that it offers. You don't have to predict
- 13:34outcomes and you don't have to hope too hard or push too hard.
- 13:41You can simply open a door inside you, a door that says
- 13:48this could help me, this could ease my symptoms, this could
- 13:54unlock new healing pathways in my mind and body.
- 13:59And just as this stream flows naturally, your healing can
- 14:10unfold naturally too, without pressure, without forcing,
- 14:19without anything you need to do. I want you to get a sense that
- 14:28you are a passenger on this journey.
- 14:33You are open to new experiences, new ways of thinking, with a
- 14:38sense of calm, curiosity. And when you think back to that
- 14:45stream, what if the ketamine therapy becomes that bridge over
- 14:52the water, A crossing point, a gentle support carrying you from
- 15:01where you've been over the gap toward where you wish to go?
- 15:10The chance for your nervous system to reset and calibrate
- 15:16old patterns, to calm inflammation, to restore clarity
- 15:26and help your body remember vitality again.
- 15:35I want you to get a sense that across a year there are certain
- 15:43seasons, or a seed planted in soil is more likely to take root
- 15:54and turn into that plant. I want you to get a sense that
- 16:00after each session of ketamine, your mind is fertile ground for
- 16:08new ideas, new ways of thinking, open to affirmations, ideas.
- 16:20Any psychotherapy sessions become a safe space where new
- 16:27insights, new connections, new emotional freedoms can take
- 16:34shape and grow. And I want you to get a feeling
- 16:40that you're not relying on any one thing.
- 16:46What if there's a combination of things that each enhance the
- 16:52other? And together these holistic,
- 16:59complementary treatments form a path, not a promise, but a
- 17:05possibility. A possibility worth
- 17:09appreciating, worth welcoming, worth noticing.
- 17:23Find yourself there, on the edge of that stream, but in addition
- 17:27to the stepping stones and the bridge, you notice something new
- 17:34that wasn't there before. A strong, sturdy rope hanging
- 17:42from a tall branch overhead. It's wings out across the water
- 17:50toward the other side and that far bank that represents the
- 17:57future where life is easier, more manageable, less fatigue,
- 18:05and more energy is all there on the other side.
- 18:13And sometimes in the past, you felt like you were hanging in
- 18:18that state, perhaps feeling powerless, just hoping that that
- 18:29feeling will go away. And I want you to imagine
- 18:36hanging on that rope over the stream.
- 18:41And in the future, whenever you feel that sensation of just
- 18:45hanging in that state, your unconscious will give you just
- 18:52enough energy to be able to swing.
- 18:58And you remember as a child being on one of those swings in
- 19:03a playground, just by moving your legs forward and pulling
- 19:08your body back, you started to swing.
- 19:13And now imagine doing that on the rope you started hanging,
- 19:19and then you began to swing until you could swing far enough
- 19:28to comfortably get to the other side.
- 19:39I want you to get a feeling that every now and then, even if you
- 19:46do have feelings that feel like a set back, you will consider it
- 19:56a dip. A temporary dip.
- 20:02It won't last very long. A dip is temporary.
- 20:08Hanging can feel longer. But if a dip never turns into
- 20:16hanging, and hanging never turns to a crash.
- 20:22You will find less moments of exhaustion and more feelings of
- 20:31hope, optimism, a sense that things are getting better.
- 20:42I want you to feel that. The rope swing, the stepping
- 20:46stones, and even the bridge even then aren't the only ways to
- 20:55cross the stream and you might notice new ideas forming in your
- 21:03mind. Other ways to get across that
- 21:09stream, Big boots that are waterproof and you can just wade
- 21:17across, or perhaps a big stick like a pole vault and you can
- 21:27just leap across or maybe something else.
- 21:35Your mind is open to all of the possibilities, possibilities to
- 21:42make progress and feel. When that neuroplasticity is
- 21:50awakened, he will notice more progress.
- 21:55And each time you notice progress, he will feel a wave of
- 22:00gratitude. I want you to get a feeling.
- 22:07Then once you've crossed to the other side, even if every now
- 22:14and then you go back, you know how to cross again, The stepping
- 22:21stones, the bridge, the swing. So many ways that you can get
- 22:30across and we need to get a sand.
- 22:36Then fatigue does not trap you, it only slows you, and you can
- 22:43still swing to the next part of your journey.
- 22:48Whenever you feel stuck, whenever you feel fatigued,
- 22:54whenever recovery feels far away, your mind will remember
- 23:00this rope not as a metaphor for hanging, but a metaphor for
- 23:07swinging and the feeling of movement returning even when
- 23:13your body is tired. And now I want you to imagine
- 23:23you've just received a certain amount of that ketamine.
- 23:33I want you to imagine that your mind now is in this window of
- 23:39enhanced neuroplasticity and the inflammation is reduced.
- 23:50Your mind is primed and ready for new ideas.
- 23:57And as you imagine standing beside the stream, allow
- 24:02yourself to release any pressure about outcomes or guarantees.
- 24:10Instead, shift into a state of appreciation, a wiser state than
- 24:20expectation. Expectation says this will work,
- 24:29it must work. But appreciation says I'll
- 24:35notice any progress and be grateful for it because
- 24:41sometimes expectation creates tension.
- 24:46It can lead to disappointment. Appreciation creates openness, a
- 24:54willingness, a calm optimism to choose to be intentional and
- 25:05release any expectations. You choose small, subtle clues
- 25:13that healing is happening. You will notice the progress and
- 25:21imagine that your subconscious mind is becoming finely tuned to
- 25:28notice even the smallest improvements.
- 25:35A shorter recovery time, a mind that loses some of that constant
- 25:43chatter, a moment of clarity, ideas that feel doable, a
- 25:57symptom that doesn't last as long as it did before.
- 26:04What you focus on expands. When you focus on the progress,
- 26:10expect more clues of more progress, because those small
- 26:17clues are evidence of progress, evidence of healing, evidence of
- 26:25your body restoring itself one bit at a time.
- 26:34And you can feel grateful for every little sign.
- 26:41Each one is like a stepping stone, bringing you closer to
- 26:48the other side of the stream. And I want you to imagine
- 26:59looking across the water to the other side.
- 27:07Maybe that side represents a future where fatigue has faded
- 27:14into memory, where life feels more normal again, where your
- 27:21energy is steadier, your thoughts clearer, your emotions
- 27:27calmer, and your world bigger. And I want you to cross the
- 27:35stream in whichever way feels right for where you are now.
- 27:42The stepping stones, the rope swing, perhaps even the bridge.
- 27:49Not pretend that this is your reality now.
- 27:55I want you to feel that you are giving a destination to your
- 28:00unconscious mind so that whenever neuroplasticity is
- 28:05enhanced, it knows where you're trying to get to.
- 28:11The clearer you are on your future, the easier it will
- 28:16become the neural pathways to form to get you to that place.
- 28:26This future is not an expectation, but it is an
- 28:31intention. This is where you are intending
- 28:34to get to, and the more clarity you have, the more you are
- 28:40priming every neuron in your brain to help get you to that
- 28:48place. So think about what you would
- 28:52love to be doing months or even a year from now, if you had the
- 29:00energy, if old symptoms were no longer there.
- 29:08To raise expectations but to set a pathway, to be intentional, to
- 29:17give signposts so any progress takes you in exactly the right
- 29:25direction. Imagine that place where life
- 29:33feels more normal again, where your energy feels more stable,
- 29:41where your thoughts are clearer, your emotions calmer, and you
- 29:47feel you can do things without having a hangover of fatigue and
- 29:54exhaustion. I want you to get a feeling that
- 29:59you are planting seeds in your mind of where you intend to be,
- 30:13and you feel a sense of trust now that sooner or later,
- 30:22whether from the bridge, the rope swing, the stepping stones,
- 30:26or something else, sooner or later you will get to that other
- 30:33side. Because healing is like a
- 30:37stream. It never stays still.
- 30:42It moves even when you don't see it on the surface.
- 30:49The current flows and even when you rest, feel that your healing
- 30:56is carrying you forward, even when progress is more subtle.
- 31:08I want you to imagine going forward now, 10 years in your
- 31:14life, looking through a photo album of all the wonderful
- 31:22things you did that give you evidence that you made the
- 31:28progress you were looking for. Photos of tasks that would be
- 31:35difficult now, but doable when you're on the other side.
- 31:44More choices, more freedom, living life.
- 31:50Images of you smiling, and not because everything is perfect,
- 31:57but you made so much progress. Life just got better and better
- 32:05and better in those windows of neuroplasticity.
- 32:12Your intentions guided the normal pathways to find a way to
- 32:19make it work. And that future version of you
- 32:24can feel pride, gratitude, a sense that in the end it all
- 32:33worked out fine. Because this is the direction
- 32:40you're heading, the future you're approaching.
- 32:45Step by step, breath by breath, session by session, swing by
- 32:54swing. I want you to get a feeling that
- 33:03your intention is that every infusion of ketamine will lead
- 33:12to clues of progress. Each clue will lead to
- 33:20gratitude. Each feeling of gratitude will
- 33:24give you feelings of optimism and hope.
- 33:30And I want you to imagine when you feel good, more of those
- 33:37positive neurotransmitters, serotonin, oxytocin, are
- 33:45released into your blood, which help calm your nervous system
- 33:48even more. Because for a while, you've been
- 33:53in a cycle that's working against you.
- 33:56But imagine the tide is about to turn in that same cycle.
- 34:04Working against you will now be working for you, and the clues
- 34:11will be progress. And you will notice the progress
- 34:17when you experience it. It's time to leave that stream.
- 34:24Go back up that path, taking you back to your present, taking all
- 34:29of these thoughts and changes with you.
- 34:33Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 34:37nose. Just wiggle your fingers.
- 34:40Wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 34:44here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 34:50you. 123 Starting to wake. 456 More alert. 7-8 Open your eyes.
