- 3:55Speaker 1: no his name.
- 3:56Speaker 3: He was in the rapping.
- 3:57Speaker 1: You get time google past.
- 3:59Speaker 5: I mean, I gotta, I gotta after this. I'm gonna
- 4:01Speaker 5: do my whole.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You're gonna go down a rabbit hole and it's gonna
- 4:03Speaker 1: be like.
- 4:05Speaker 4: But you was talking about you knew the yun ain't twins.
- 4:07Speaker 4: You said you used to listen to the n My
- 4:10Speaker 4: mom would play whisper. So yeah, I was a kid,
- 4:14Speaker 4: and I was just like, but I di ain't know

- 4:20Speaker 4: I said, oh, yeah, listen to this.
- 4:23Speaker 3: See what.
- 4:27Speaker 5: I was just like, hey, wait t see my head
- 4:30Speaker 5: because we should be playing the clean version.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Like that's all I remember. I see that on the
- 4:36Speaker 3: radio all the.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Time, made fun records. But now that I'm understanding, it
- 4:40Speaker 2: was called action.
- 4:41Speaker 1: The verses was called action. The hook is called action.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 4:45Speaker 4: They was at Sea World percolating? Who was You didn't
- 4:48Speaker 4: see them at Sea World? They was let's start an interview, bro,
- 4:53Speaker 4: my pastor Troys got so Pastor Troy.
- 4:59Speaker 1: We read You're gonna be like you performed in my
- 5:01Speaker 1: wedding reception. It was crazy, it was drunk, it was crazy.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Pass wedding. It's percolating. I'm trying to writing it down.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So let me ask you a question.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Is your name giveon Yeah, that's your real that's on
- 5:15Speaker 5: your driver's license, government name. My mom give it to me,
- 5:20Speaker 5: she says.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I would imagine.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean fact, She says.
- 5:24Speaker 5: She wanted me to be a given person.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Are you a given person?
- 5:29Speaker 5: Especially to like my family, my homies, friends. I'm a
- 5:33Speaker 5: gifter when I'm dating some people going now, you.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Know on the side they call that trick.
- 5:39Speaker 3: On your girl. Yeah, no, it's not.
- 5:42Speaker 2: If you if you know a lot in the beginning,
- 5:44Speaker 2: my boy, it's a lot like because you trick later.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You don't trick in the beginning.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But you're married.
- 5:50Speaker 1: No, when I like you for real, that's when you
- 5:53Speaker 1: start oh yeah, boom boom boom boom.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Booms with a girlfriend. Okay, like, hey you my girlfriend.
- 6:01Speaker 5: Here's some this or some that. But I like it
- 6:04Speaker 5: as like like a surprise too. Though it's not.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Like you said surprise, Yeah that's my.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Like I come home from somewhere.
- 6:11Speaker 5: But she got to spend on YouTube though, right, I mean, yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 5: I've been spent on before, but it's like I don't.
- 6:19Speaker 5: It's not a requirement. I've been. I've been, but that's
- 6:30Speaker 5: what I'm trouble.
- 6:30Speaker 2: But that's that's what makes it like, Okay, yeah, you
- 6:34Speaker 2: actually like me, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Because my wife took me the Hawaii mm hmm. That's
- 6:40Speaker 5: what I was like, Yeah, I really love you.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Like no one's ever boyfriend and girlfriend.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yes, his boyfriend and girlfriend. She was like, man, let
- 6:47Speaker 1: go to Hawaii.
- 6:47Speaker 5: I was like, all right, whatever, next thing, I know,
- 6:49Speaker 5: I get a ticket notification.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Hard to accept it or were You're just like.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I was still. It took a while and we were
- 6:57Speaker 1: gone for five days.
- 6:59Speaker 3: I remember, I say, I said, your girl got money.
- 7:02Speaker 3: My girl like you.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But but I said your girl got money because you.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Know, I behave like this is the first woman I behave.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I don't do nothing. How long y'all been there that
- 7:18Speaker 2: nine years?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Hey man? We interviewing you.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Man, I was just saying, look, let's get back to it.
- 7:27Speaker 3: You know what. You know what it is.
- 7:29Speaker 4: He doesn't do interviews, right, so he's not used to
- 7:33Speaker 4: having to answer all the question so he used to
- 7:35Speaker 4: You probably used.
- 7:36Speaker 1: To ask people, Yeah, you know what, let's go to commercial.
- 7:39Speaker 2: When we come back, we're going to actually start the interview.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Give you on in the Building Baller Show.
- 7:44Speaker 4: On Revolt That's right, and we are back right here
- 7:47Speaker 4: to bat Alert Show on Revolt TV. Give you on
- 7:49Speaker 4: is in the Building? I promise you how the interviews
- 7:51Speaker 4: starts now.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Now, would you say your contemporary R and B?
- 8:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, but I like to use the term
- 8:03Speaker 5: rhythm and blues because sometimes R and B it feels
- 8:07Speaker 5: like it's describing a certain sector and soul gets left out,
- 8:12Speaker 5: like the Teddies, the Luther Vandraws, the the al Greens,
- 8:18Speaker 5: the more soulful classic acts from the seventies. So I'll
- 8:21Speaker 5: say I'm contemporary rhythm and blues contemporary soul.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Do you feel like R and B is what rhythm
- 8:27Speaker 3: and blues is back?
- 8:29Speaker 1: I don't think you're left, but go ahead.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I think yeah.
- 8:32Speaker 5: I feel like anytime I'm here is is here because
- 8:38Speaker 5: I take the I take the space really serious. I'm
- 8:41Speaker 5: not if you hear a body away from me, you know,
- 8:44Speaker 5: there's a lot of effort put into it, and there's
- 8:46Speaker 5: an effort to elevate the sound in general. That's why
- 8:49Speaker 5: my newest album, Beloved, I'm like, I want to make
- 8:52Speaker 5: it to a point where no one can drop anything
- 8:54Speaker 5: less than this, So I'm raising the standard.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Is that why you don't drop as often as your
- 9:00Speaker 1: fans will want?
- 9:02Speaker 5: Yes, Well, it's a couple of reasons. So the main
- 9:04Speaker 5: one is all my music is autobiographical, so I'm writing
- 9:09Speaker 5: based on life as it happens. So and I'm not
- 9:12Speaker 5: really in control of the flow of stories I have
- 9:15Speaker 5: to tell.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Yeah, like when somebody drag your name through the mud? Yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 3: through the mud. That was the first song I said, Damn.
- 9:23Speaker 5: That's how I kicked the door down. And in the
- 9:27Speaker 5: streams were just cinematic. I wanted to I'm big on
- 9:30Speaker 5: world building, I'm not a single artist. I'm an album artist.
- 9:34Speaker 5: I'm a world building, live playing album artists. So mud
- 9:40Speaker 5: was just perfect because it just sets the tone. Really,
- 9:43Speaker 5: it's just the bravado of it, just like it's like
- 9:45Speaker 5: like fingerpointing music.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like wipe that dirt off.
- 9:49Speaker 1: There's really an experience more so than you're just going in.
- 9:53Speaker 3: There to record exactly.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It's like much more than a job.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I mean, I make music because I have to. I
- 10:00Speaker 5: literally it's like my my therapy. That's why it's tricky though,
- 10:05Speaker 5: because if you're doing something because you have to, and
- 10:08Speaker 5: it's like your therapeutic process is your it's so vulnerable,
- 10:13Speaker 5: and then you put it out to the world to critique.
- 10:16Speaker 5: And I don't have a stage name, so any critique
- 10:19Speaker 5: is actually like I feel like you critiquing me as
- 10:22Speaker 5: a person people I never even met. Like that takes
- 10:25Speaker 5: a lot of courage. I could be running around just
- 10:28Speaker 5: hidden in Italy, in a random place somewhere, but I
- 10:32Speaker 5: still time and time again decide to be courageous enough
- 10:35Speaker 5: to put this flaws and vulnerability out to the public
- 10:40Speaker 5: to even be nitpicked. It's hard, though, in.
- 10:42Speaker 2: The industry where you can create a persona. Did you
- 10:47Speaker 2: ever think about a stage name or you always knew that?
- 10:55Speaker 3: Nah?
- 10:55Speaker 5: I think because my name is just so unique and
- 10:58Speaker 5: I never met another give Yon.
- 11:00Speaker 2: So you never thought of saying, yeah, that's what that's
- 11:03Speaker 2: what them girls was telling you, right, I like them
- 11:05Speaker 2: name it.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:08Speaker 5: No, I never maybe like maybe for an album. Maybe
- 11:12Speaker 5: I'll do like an alias for an album at some point,
- 11:15Speaker 5: but like now, I never was like I'm gonna go
- 11:17Speaker 5: buy a different stage name. I kind of regret that, though.
- 11:20Speaker 5: I feel like it would have been easier to turn
- 11:22Speaker 5: it off and on.
- 11:24Speaker 3: So so you feel like there's no turning it off
- 11:27Speaker 3: being given.
- 11:27Speaker 5: On unless I but the stuff I like to do
- 11:32Speaker 5: on my downtime is it kind of feels off because
- 11:35Speaker 5: I'm I'm going to coffee shops, I'm thrifting, I'm going
- 11:39Speaker 5: to art galleries. I'm going to watch classic movies. So
- 11:43Speaker 5: I'm not it's not really a frenzy.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You really can't do that.
- 11:46Speaker 5: You're doing that, yeah, security, No, Nah, you can't.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You can't do that, sir.
- 11:56Speaker 5: I've been The most that's gonna happen is it's actually great.
- 12:02Speaker 5: People actually feel bad coming up to me. I think
- 12:06Speaker 5: it's because of the music I make. They're like, I'm
- 12:09Speaker 5: so they apologize for even coming up.
- 12:11Speaker 1: To me walk I'm so sorry.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm sorry. I just want to tell you, and
- 12:16Speaker 5: I think it's because of my writing. You can tell
- 12:19Speaker 5: that I'm it's more of a it's super personal and
- 12:27Speaker 5: I'm not doing it for fame or anything. So they
- 12:30Speaker 5: probably feel bad knowing that I'm a more private, keep
- 12:34Speaker 5: to myself person. So in the worst case is they'll
- 12:37Speaker 5: be like, can I get a picture? That's worst and
- 12:39Speaker 5: best case I'm like, yeah, sure, because that's what happened
- 12:43Speaker 5: to me. Though I had that fear of like because
- 12:44Speaker 5: I blew up during the pandemic when I haven't experienced
- 12:49Speaker 5: any type of notoriety. So I was at the house like, dang,
- 12:52Speaker 5: do I need a security everywhere I go? Do I
- 12:54Speaker 5: need to go to a grocery store? Do I need
- 12:57Speaker 5: to this?
- 12:58Speaker 3: This? This?
- 12:58Speaker 5: So then I would like I started to create some
- 13:01Speaker 5: type of like agoraphobia, like social anxiety because I was like, oh,
- 13:05Speaker 5: and then I would go out and then I'll be.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Like, I wonder if the people looking at me they
- 13:10Speaker 3: know who I am. I don't nobody give it?
- 13:11Speaker 5: Then nobody care it's not even that serious. And if
- 13:15Speaker 5: they do, that's just like, yo, I like you. I'm
- 13:17Speaker 5: like yo, I like it too.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 13:19Speaker 5: So then it's just like and nobody. It's not like
- 13:22Speaker 5: anybody gonna try to harm me that that just wouldn't.
- 13:25Speaker 5: That would just be random, like what.
- 13:28Speaker 3: And I think it's your demeanor.
- 13:29Speaker 4: You seem like a very chill person, and I think
- 13:33Speaker 4: that also helps with people being like, Okay, this person
- 13:36Speaker 4: is And it's like the places that you ad like
- 13:38Speaker 4: if you.
- 13:38Speaker 3: At a coffee shop, if you reading a book.
- 13:41Speaker 2: This is like like a hey, one time a team macha,
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm a lot to You're.
- 13:49Speaker 3: A fool for that yet not me. I don't like coffee.
- 13:52Speaker 3: You don't like coffee. I got a story about it.
- 13:54Speaker 3: What's the story?
- 13:56Speaker 5: When I work at Chucky Cheese.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You worked at Chucky Cheese, got it?
- 14:00Speaker 5: I used to get in the Chucky thing too, every
- 14:03Speaker 5: every thirty minutes and throw tickets up for the kids
- 14:05Speaker 5: to grab, and I'll be talking shit in my head
- 14:07Speaker 5: like look at these little more because they can't hear me.
- 14:15Speaker 5: So I'm mumble, I'm like I got me in this
- 14:17Speaker 5: ship and then somebody, somebody shout it in the bathroom
- 14:27Speaker 5: exactly in the stall in front of the toilet. I'm like,
- 14:31Speaker 5: you did this shit on purpose. All you have to
- 14:33Speaker 5: do is sit down. So I'm like, in order to
- 14:37Speaker 5: get rid of them, yep, in order to get rid
- 14:40Speaker 5: of the smell, they said, pour coffee on it and
- 14:44Speaker 5: you a scar for Like, yeah, I can't. I can't
- 14:46Speaker 5: disassociate coffee and shit. So you're drinking ship with ice.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Let's go to commercial yo yo.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah where we were at, back the Nagle love for
- 15:05Speaker 2: the studios.
- 15:08Speaker 4: That's right, and we are back to Battler show right here.
- 15:10Speaker 4: O Revolt TV give you on is still in the building.
- 15:12Speaker 4: We having a pretty crappy conversation right now.
- 15:16Speaker 5: I'd like how you were so transparent about you. I
- 15:18Speaker 5: worked the Chuck E Cheese.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I worked at Alamo. Would you work with that sprint?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Sprint talking like that yesterday? I heard sprinting In a minute,
- 15:28Speaker 3: is that still a company?
- 15:30Speaker 1: It's not somebody they merged.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I forgot who mobile? So people be acting like people.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Uh you know, I was talking to uh to what
- 15:40Speaker 4: about boys and and I said, you know when people
- 15:42Speaker 4: hate on you, I said, the thing that they do
- 15:44Speaker 4: is like, yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I heard you used to work at Chuck E Cheese.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Before you did this, you'd be like, like, okay, okay,
- 15:51Speaker 4: where the.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Bubba Gum Shimp Company.
- 15:56Speaker 5: I don't know if y'all have Oh yeah, I have
- 15:58Speaker 5: heard of that before me with It's like it's based
- 16:01Speaker 5: off of the movie for us seriously, Yeah, like all
- 16:04Speaker 5: day of the movie plays. Oh that's why I never
- 16:08Speaker 5: met Tom Hanks. But if I do, we got a problem.
- 16:13Speaker 5: I've seen him every day for five years.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Five years a waiter.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Well, I started as a host and then I went
- 16:20Speaker 5: to a server, terrible server though, you were a terrible Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 5: I never went back to the tables, and that's customer service.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I was horrible.
- 16:32Speaker 4: People did that because you'll be like, wait, where's my service?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:37Speaker 3: What were you doing? Forget?
- 16:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I wasn't like trying to think I don't know
- 16:43Speaker 5: what the hell I was doing.
- 16:45Speaker 3: I would like forget.
- 16:46Speaker 5: I was at work musicians and this was a long beat,
- 16:51Speaker 5: long beach because that's where.
- 16:52Speaker 1: You you were doing this to make money to for music.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Yeah, and just like it was tricky though, because I
- 16:59Speaker 5: didn't I didn't know anyone in music.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I didn't even know if.
- 17:02Speaker 5: It was even a realistic thing because I had no
- 17:04Speaker 5: no connections, no resources, So I was just like, I'm
- 17:07Speaker 5: gonna just get a job while I figured myself out.
- 17:09Speaker 5: But also I was always just working on the craft.
- 17:11Speaker 5: But the thing is, what is it possible to even
- 17:14Speaker 5: do this, like as a career.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Now, how was you in your relationship with your auntie?
- 17:18Speaker 4: Because I've seen that you said you started feeling disrespectful
- 17:21Speaker 4: because your auntie didn't ask you. I can't believe you're
- 17:26Speaker 4: this person now you all right, I'm five years mom,
- 17:32Speaker 4: Yeah you're one.
- 17:34Speaker 5: She's just like, so can't believe it because no one
- 17:37Speaker 5: in our family. This is like the first anything, no,
- 17:40Speaker 5: no nepotism at all. So she's just like, what what's
- 17:43Speaker 5: going on?
- 17:44Speaker 3: You're two? She like, this is like a dream. I
- 17:46Speaker 3: can't believe you did it. You're three? She like, you
- 17:49Speaker 3: really did it? Y're four?
- 17:51Speaker 5: She like, I just can't. I feel like I'm not
- 17:54Speaker 5: a wak right now, I can't believe you did it.
- 17:56Speaker 5: And I'm like, now my feeling is getting hurt cause
- 18:00Speaker 5: now like you you two in disbelief because.
- 18:03Speaker 3: She's like, year five, you like you really did it? Huh.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I'm like my son, you this one.
- 18:11Speaker 5: I'm like, yeah, like before I was like, yeah, crazy right,
- 18:15Speaker 5: year five, I'm like, what you're saying.
- 18:17Speaker 3: You didn't think it was gonna work. You didn't think
- 18:20Speaker 3: I was gonna be and believed.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Mama's being mom, MoMA's being Mama. Yeah, you got any siblings? Uh, well,
- 18:27Speaker 4: I got my dad.
- 18:29Speaker 5: I got siblings on my dad's side and on my
- 18:30Speaker 5: mom's side, but I grew up with the siblings on
- 18:32Speaker 5: my mom's side and she had four boys. But that's
- 18:35Speaker 5: why I started writing, because there was there was only
- 18:38Speaker 5: a couple emotions that were even allowed in the house
- 18:41Speaker 5: between us.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Otherwise it would just be like that we antrol each
- 18:44Speaker 3: other and he mad.
- 18:47Speaker 5: I'm just like, But then I found out at an
- 18:50Speaker 5: early age, like I could just express myself through this
- 18:54Speaker 5: and it's more palatable, palatable to people because they take
- 18:56Speaker 5: it more. It's just vulnerability instead of like, you know,
- 18:59Speaker 5: by to judge someone's journal, like that's kind of I mean,
- 19:05Speaker 5: in an intimate setting, on a grand scheme, grand stages,
- 19:09Speaker 5: people people judge our journals.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Now, as an artist of your caliber and also a writer,
- 19:14Speaker 1: are you also open to having writers co write with you? Yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 1: but I know sometimes y'all take that personal.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Now, it is like you do want to. But then
- 19:25Speaker 5: I think once you proving yourself, like road Hits by myself,
- 19:30Speaker 5: it becomes less about being the one holding the camera
- 19:35Speaker 5: or acting, and you're okay with being a director and
- 19:38Speaker 5: being like this, this, this, But I still haven't found that,
- 19:42Speaker 5: Like I can't just take a whole song.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I was gonna ask the next question, have you ever
- 19:47Speaker 1: not written a damn thing?
- 19:49Speaker 5: And that's hard because it's like my favorite I think
- 19:53Speaker 5: my favorite thing about my writing is besides the melodies,
- 19:57Speaker 5: is the concepts, like super nuanced concepts that people haven't
- 20:01Speaker 5: thought of. And I found out I find out with
- 20:03Speaker 5: writers it's a little more vague sometimes because they're just
- 20:08Speaker 5: they're not they're not always writing from their own personal
- 20:12Speaker 5: experience and just writing a good song. So it's like
- 20:15Speaker 5: it's a dance. I'm still trying to figure it out
- 20:17Speaker 5: because I don't want to have to write all these
- 20:19Speaker 5: songs that's not I don't. I understand people take pride
- 20:23Speaker 5: in it, but I'm like, I've proven it already. I
- 20:25Speaker 5: just want to make it be a part of good music.
- 20:28Speaker 3: And it's probably it's probably a lot of work. It's
- 20:31Speaker 3: so much work.
- 20:33Speaker 5: It's so much work, and then you can write a
- 20:35Speaker 5: full song and be like, Okay, let me edit because
- 20:39Speaker 5: I'm I'm just a fan of writing in general, because
- 20:42Speaker 5: I think as I expand the world of giving on
- 20:47Speaker 5: these these stories still need some like some of these
- 20:50Speaker 5: songs and albums need like some film adaptations to them
- 20:54Speaker 5: because they're so relatable and so.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Nuanced.
- 20:58Speaker 5: So it feels specific in all of these things. So
- 21:01Speaker 5: I'm like, I would love to one day just when
- 21:03Speaker 5: people see my name that I like wrote a movie,
- 21:06Speaker 5: people tune into that because it's like, oh, Gibeon wrote it,
- 21:09Speaker 5: so it's going to be quality and honest and believable.
- 21:12Speaker 5: So and I just study writing and that makes a
- 21:16Speaker 5: songwriter process harder because now I'm elevated my taste, so
- 21:20Speaker 5: now I'm aware of what could be better.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Yeah, because now you've become a picky eater you like exactly,
- 21:27Speaker 4: You're like, man, I can tell you ain't really experienced.
- 21:29Speaker 1: That wrote that yesterday, Like label stop.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Sending me these guys like I don't like the Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 5: So but when I do sit down and like co
- 21:41Speaker 5: write with somebody in it, it's more so to fill
- 21:45Speaker 5: in the blanks. What about production though, production, Oh, no,
- 21:49Speaker 5: I'm I just offer what's world and a vision. But
- 21:52Speaker 5: my producer who found me, his name is seven Thomas.
- 21:56Speaker 5: He's like top symptoms. He's a he's a mastermind, like you.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Have to curate together for the vibe to be perfect
- 22:04Speaker 1: or do.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Sometimes he can send you write.
- 22:08Speaker 3: To it now.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I just I just I could write to it just
- 22:12Speaker 5: on my own and then we come in. But he's
- 22:14Speaker 5: also an amazing vocal producer. He'll be like, you should
- 22:17Speaker 5: redo this, m you should so he can range and
- 22:20Speaker 5: he don't want to found me.
- 22:22Speaker 3: He's so he's like he's kind of like yo, Quincy
- 22:24Speaker 3: Jones exactly.
- 22:25Speaker 5: That's a perfect example. And I learned through production and
- 22:28Speaker 5: everything through him. So I remember, I got to a
- 22:31Speaker 5: point where I was like, yo, I want to learn
- 22:32Speaker 5: how to play more and produce.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I'm not doing that.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I don't think you got time.
- 22:38Speaker 1: That takes a long time.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Even for example, like because we interview rappers too, rappers
- 22:43Speaker 2: can do a song in like ten minutes.
- 22:45Speaker 3: They were doing like eight songs in a session. I'm like,
- 22:48Speaker 3: why was that, bro?
- 22:49Speaker 1: It could take y'all a month.
- 22:51Speaker 3: A month year to do. But that's why, that's why
- 22:54Speaker 3: we need you to get songwriters, because.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Three years without an album is great and it's that
- 23:01Speaker 4: things getting mad, be getting mad?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Bro, what do you call them?
- 23:04Speaker 5: By the way, I don't have a name, but I've
- 23:06Speaker 5: been calling like I've been doing meet and greets for
- 23:08Speaker 5: I've been doing meet and greets and talking to them,
- 23:10Speaker 5: and then my album is Beloved, and naturally I'm just like,
- 23:13Speaker 5: thank you, love it. Mm hmm, So like for now
- 23:16Speaker 5: it's kind of my beloved. But then I can't because
- 23:18Speaker 5: when one of the homies walk up, I'm dapping them up.
- 23:21Speaker 5: So I'm like, oh wait, I can't put them all
- 23:23Speaker 5: in one group.
- 23:24Speaker 3: So you can my beloved. Yeah, I'm like, you gotta
- 23:27Speaker 3: do it and walk off stage the meet and you
- 23:34Speaker 3: gotta walk off Oh yeah, yeah, look like did this
- 23:42Speaker 3: niggas has called me beloved?
- 23:44Speaker 5: It's hard to like, it's hard unless you have a
- 23:47Speaker 5: majority of one group, one demographic for sure, like a
- 23:52Speaker 5: like a Playboard CARDI could be like vamps because it's
- 23:57Speaker 5: like mostly guys and it's like that that's kind of
- 24:00Speaker 5: a harsh thing to just call.
- 24:04Speaker 3: A girl who's a Playboard CARDI fan. That's like, honestly, no,
- 24:07Speaker 3: that could work. Could work. Who else is on Rihanna?
- 24:11Speaker 3: She calls.
- 24:13Speaker 1: The Navy.
- 24:14Speaker 3: It's hard and I think I feel like, I feel like,
- 24:17Speaker 3: do they have to name themselves?
- 24:19Speaker 1: Sometimes?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 24:20Speaker 4: I think sometimes they just create, Like I think the
- 24:23Speaker 4: fan base just create and say hey, this is and
- 24:26Speaker 4: then you talk.
- 24:26Speaker 1: To your fans too, so you know, of course the barbs.
- 24:29Speaker 3: That's yeah. So you know, I'm pretty sure they're gonna
- 24:32Speaker 3: start coming on over when this comes out of.
- 24:34Speaker 5: It, because I've been calling or at least for this tour. Okay,
- 24:38Speaker 5: it's run okay for sure, or.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Maybe just call the women beloved and then just or.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Just thank you, thank you, well, thank you.
- 24:46Speaker 5: We're going to go to commercial when we come right
- 24:48Speaker 5: back more give you right here on The Ballert Show
- 24:50Speaker 5: by Revolt.
- 24:51Speaker 4: That's right, man, that we are back right here the
- 24:53Speaker 4: ball Alert Show on Revolt TV. Give y'all still hanging
- 24:56Speaker 4: out with us. Man, We're having a great conversation.
- 24:59Speaker 1: But let's get a little you my boy, let go,
- 25:01Speaker 1: uh it is now time for do like that camera
- 25:05Speaker 1: and you shot out your crush or somebody that you
- 25:07Speaker 1: know is a crush that you are talking to. What
- 25:10Speaker 1: would you have to say to that particular person crush,
- 25:16Speaker 1: like a celebrit crush.
- 25:17Speaker 3: It could be any crush. What do I say to them? Anything?
- 25:19Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 25:20Speaker 3: Whatever? You why would I was just texting.
- 25:23Speaker 2: But if they were watching this particular clip and they
- 25:26Speaker 2: see your face right now, this is.
- 25:28Speaker 1: That moment for you to express yourself.
- 25:32Speaker 3: I'll see you soon.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Oh okay, this this is your crush. Like, make you
- 25:40Speaker 1: sing too, I'll be singing.
- 25:44Speaker 3: But don't. I'm not like a crush guy. Okay, okay, you.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Haven't met any celebrity that you like. When you was
- 25:50Speaker 4: working at Chuck E Cheese and Gumbo and you was like,
- 25:53Speaker 4: man if I meet.
- 25:54Speaker 3: This person bubble gum. When you hear that, you went
- 26:01Speaker 3: on Instagram like, man, I can't wait till I run
- 26:03Speaker 3: into her.
- 26:09Speaker 1: And you're thinking too long now now, because I'm not.
- 26:11Speaker 5: I was never a celebrity crushy guy because I was
- 26:13Speaker 5: just like a normal, normal girl. What can you say
- 26:17Speaker 5: in Good Life? Because we like the girls who ain't
- 26:19Speaker 5: on TV.
- 26:20Speaker 1: So the young lady that you're crushing on right now,
- 26:22Speaker 1: is she a normal girl?
- 26:25Speaker 3: Normal in the most Non, I don't know if people
- 26:28Speaker 3: get offended.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Yeah, like that's no, Yeah, no, she's not a celebrity okay.
- 26:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just like I think that's just naturally what
- 26:39Speaker 5: it would I gravitate to.
- 26:40Speaker 3: But it's not like.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Particular, like nah, I got you cutting off, So I'm
- 26:46Speaker 5: just like, nah, this is just But right now it's
- 26:48Speaker 5: like it's it's time to be single.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Though. Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I get in relationships kind of fast, so I just
- 26:55Speaker 5: try to stay away from it because I don't know
- 26:57Speaker 5: how to go slow because I'm like, if I like you,
- 27:01Speaker 5: then what do we Let's go like all right, sure,
- 27:05Speaker 5: let's try it and then we can find out sooner
- 27:07Speaker 5: if it's gonna work or not, you know. So right
- 27:10Speaker 5: now I'm trying not to deal with no crushes.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Hey, you're about to go on the road, man, you
- 27:14Speaker 4: gotta be single. Yeah, you gotta be a thought when
- 27:17Speaker 4: you touring and stuff.
- 27:18Speaker 5: But I got all that out though it's probably gonna
- 27:20Speaker 5: it's not not my first on first roadio.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I used to be like, oh, yeah, you're on tour.
- 27:29Speaker 3: It's supposed to let a rock star lifestyle.
- 27:31Speaker 5: You're supposed to But I'm like, I'll do it if
- 27:33Speaker 5: it happens. But I'm not like in search of it
- 27:36Speaker 5: because I realized there's a couple of cities I'm been
- 27:39Speaker 5: to multiple times that I don't even know the city.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Like I'm I'm here in Atlanta and I'm like, oh,
- 27:45Speaker 5: I don't know my spot, I don't know where I
- 27:46Speaker 5: want to eat. I don't know anything. Coming years we
- 27:51Speaker 5: get the lemon Pepper. You had the lemon pepper ranch sprinkle.
- 27:54Speaker 3: No, it's not like a cupcake. You ain't never been
- 27:57Speaker 3: to Magic City, had a little limit pep. I want
- 27:59Speaker 3: to Magic City on accident.
- 28:00Speaker 1: You gotta go with us?
- 28:01Speaker 3: Accident, Yeah, because I was go with us, bro listen,
- 28:04Speaker 3: I want to.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I was opening for snow a Legra twenty nineteen and
- 28:07Speaker 5: I kept, yeah, this is my first tour, and I
- 28:11Speaker 5: was like I was asking everybody like yo, I'm hungry,
- 28:13Speaker 5: Like where can I get some food? Magic City Wings,
- 28:16Speaker 5: Magic City Wings, Magic City Wings, Magic City Wings.
- 28:19Speaker 3: And I was like all right, and it was what
- 28:22Speaker 3: Spotify rep was there too. I forgot his name though.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I was like all right.
- 28:27Speaker 5: There was like we're gonna go to Magic City and
- 28:28Speaker 5: I'm thinking it's just like Causin. I don't know if
- 28:31Speaker 5: y'all have them here, but in LA we have this
- 28:32Speaker 5: store called like Party City.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Well I'm down in Atlanta. But yeah, I
- 28:38Speaker 3: think they closed down too.
- 28:39Speaker 5: So to me, it's just like family, fun, little restaurant
- 28:42Speaker 5: Magic Maybe somebody come out a little city.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Didn't know it was a strip club.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I was like, boo, you didn't know Magic City was
- 28:50Speaker 3: a strip club? No, So then we go.
- 28:52Speaker 5: I'm like, we pull up to we pull up to
- 28:55Speaker 5: the parking lot. I'm like, yo, it's that restaurant jumping.
- 28:59Speaker 3: It's like real whips in the parking lot. And then
- 29:04Speaker 3: it was like dark.
- 29:05Speaker 5: So I was looking down so I could see my
- 29:08Speaker 5: watch my step while I'm walking, so I'm still not
- 29:11Speaker 5: even it's not registering, like and then I look up,
- 29:15Speaker 5: I see stripper pos I'm like what? And then I
- 29:19Speaker 5: see also I've never been in the strip club before.
- 29:22Speaker 5: That was the first and only time I've ever been
- 29:23Speaker 5: to it.
- 29:24Speaker 3: What.
- 29:25Speaker 5: I'm like, what's going on? And then I start seeing
- 29:28Speaker 5: strippers and I'm like, what's the surfers? I was so
- 29:31Speaker 5: confused all that as.
- 29:33Speaker 3: You thought that was just a service. I mean it is.
- 29:36Speaker 5: I was just I would hear about Atlanta all the time.
- 29:38Speaker 5: And then the wings took like forty five minutes.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, that's what look, that's where you partake
- 29:46Speaker 4: in the activities. And then about about.
- 29:48Speaker 5: Time I had a girl with me, we both I
- 29:52Speaker 5: was I'm gonna take you. I'm gonna do this show,
- 29:54Speaker 5: take you to dinner.
- 29:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Side note before we get into this. By side though,
- 30:02Speaker 1: put you down. Next time you come and get with
- 30:04Speaker 1: the team. We want a blue flag.
- 30:07Speaker 3: What food is that?
- 30:08Speaker 1: No?
- 30:08Speaker 3: No, no, no, See that's another strip club.
- 30:12Speaker 1: You know. You know, West Coast people don't the club.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Listen.
- 30:15Speaker 1: West Coast people do not like to take Listen. I
- 30:18Speaker 1: love your magic. Everybody going to magic. Take your blue flame.
- 30:21Speaker 3: My boy, I'm scared of club man.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You gotta go easy.
- 30:26Speaker 3: You gotta take them to Cheatah, bro, you gotta clubs.
- 30:31Speaker 4: He's gonna take you to Cheatah. It's gonna be elegant.
- 30:33Speaker 4: That's that's where you're gonna take a girl.
- 30:35Speaker 3: To a night dinner. What about a restaurant? Restaurant? I
- 30:40Speaker 3: don't know. Rest now, it's gonna be some ass in there.
- 30:43Speaker 3: See That's why I'm like, come on.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Like, shake it, shake it, shake it. It's like that.
- 30:46Speaker 3: But it's like you ever seen you say food? I
- 30:49Speaker 3: want your food is restaurant?
- 30:51Speaker 4: Start restaurant. You ever you ever played a grand theft auto?
- 30:54Speaker 4: You know, they just be doing this and then you
- 30:58Speaker 4: just be on there. That's what they're doing. They ain't
- 31:01Speaker 4: gonna even know what they're gonna bother. You put you
- 31:04Speaker 4: in the back back of what they got a back area.
- 31:07Speaker 1: But listen, I'm never going out in a except that
- 31:13Speaker 1: it's time for you got me? What's the things that
- 31:16Speaker 1: get on your damn nerves?
- 31:17Speaker 3: My boy?
- 31:19Speaker 1: Now, what's something you just can't stand? It could be
- 31:21Speaker 1: a personal place or a thing mm hmm, FaceTime traffic.
- 31:27Speaker 5: Because I got a lot of stuff that be irritating me.
- 31:30Speaker 5: I'm gonna say, come on, give me a you know what,
- 31:42Speaker 5: I'm gonna really say. What when like the audience or
- 31:49Speaker 5: a fan base or just the public discourse about R
- 31:54Speaker 5: and B. Okay, that gets on my nerves because I
- 31:58Speaker 5: don't critique anything that I can't do, and if I
- 32:01Speaker 5: can do it, I won't critique it.
- 32:02Speaker 3: I'll just gonna make what I like.
- 32:04Speaker 5: And I see a discourse about rhythm and blues and
- 32:07Speaker 5: R and B all the time from people who don't
- 32:09Speaker 5: make it. That gets someone, Yeah, because it's just like
- 32:18Speaker 5: it's like it's almost like a like I understand that sometimes,
- 32:22Speaker 5: like in sports, there's like a Stephen A. Smith that
- 32:24Speaker 5: can he could critique basketball and be like blah blah
- 32:27Speaker 5: blah blah. But the NBA players are gonna be like, what.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Are you talking? You never played yeah on this level
- 32:33Speaker 3: at all. So it's like that, it's it's not that easy.
- 32:37Speaker 3: So that that.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but like what what is the strip clubs? Yeah,
- 32:42Speaker 4: I don't like people from the West Coast do not
- 32:45Speaker 4: like strip clubs. That's what I've learned.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Well, what I've learned is we gotta go to commercial
- 32:50Speaker 2: when we come back. We gotta talk about this tour.
- 32:51Speaker 2: And we got a gift forgive you on. Yes, sir,
- 32:54Speaker 2: it's fro Simons, you know BT ball or Revolt.
- 32:57Speaker 3: That's right, man, we are back right here, the Ball
- 32:59Speaker 3: Alert show on Revolt TV.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Give you on.
- 33:01Speaker 3: It's still in the building. And man, we got a
- 33:03Speaker 3: gift for you.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Shout out the ural watches watch that's right now.
- 33:08Speaker 3: So we got we got you your oral watch.
- 33:10Speaker 5: Yes, sir, let me see. You know I love a
- 33:12Speaker 5: good watch. Yes, sir, Oh, yes, thank you, thank you
- 33:23Speaker 5: as you right there.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Yeah, you just wanted to
- 33:25Speaker 1: give you something. It's very nice, smooth, you know what,
- 33:28Speaker 1: I'm trincking on me.
- 33:33Speaker 5: Look see we give our gifts to Yeah, yeah, thank
- 33:37Speaker 5: you though I appreciate it. Now you got a tour, Yes, tour,
- 33:41Speaker 5: Fall tour. It's like one of my favorite times to
- 33:44Speaker 5: tour too, because it's not too hot in cities, not
- 33:47Speaker 5: too man.
- 33:47Speaker 3: He don't like the heat. I don't.
- 33:49Speaker 5: I like it just right, just growing up and the
- 33:51Speaker 5: best part of the and I get to see because
- 33:54Speaker 5: growing up I'm from Long Beach, LA. We don't really
- 33:58Speaker 5: have seasons like that. It's summer or a little colder summer.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 34:03Speaker 5: So I'm excited to just see brown golden brown leaves
- 34:06Speaker 5: and then get people ready for the holidays right.
- 34:09Speaker 3: After this tour.
- 34:10Speaker 5: It's just like it's just a perfect time. And my
- 34:13Speaker 5: whole album was like ninety five percent of it was
- 34:15Speaker 5: made live, so it's meant to be played live, so
- 34:18Speaker 5: it's gonna translate really well on stage. And me and
- 34:22Speaker 5: my band have a lot of chemistry. That's just the
- 34:27Speaker 5: creative direction of everything. It's just gonna be a special
- 34:30Speaker 5: night out. I'm excited for people now.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I did earlier in the interview I know you said
- 34:35Speaker 1: singles ain't really a big deal.
- 34:36Speaker 2: You are an album artist. Yeah, would you say also
- 34:40Speaker 2: that you're a performance type of artist. Yeah, you love
- 34:43Speaker 2: to perform more so than like shooting a video.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, definitely. I think it's just it's more of
- 34:49Speaker 3: a flow.
- 34:50Speaker 5: And then when I'm in flowed, stuff comes out that
- 34:53Speaker 5: I could never have planned, even interviews like this, Like
- 34:55Speaker 5: if I came in here with like a script, it
- 34:57Speaker 5: just wouldn't like the stuff I wanted to say. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 5: it would just be like I like those happy accidents.
- 35:03Speaker 5: And sometimes on tour, you just it's just more loose
- 35:05Speaker 5: and relaxed than like even sitting in this I don't
- 35:09Speaker 5: even like sitting in the studio that long, like writing music,
- 35:12Speaker 5: because I'm like, that's when I'm in like scientist mode
- 35:15Speaker 5: and making sure everything is right.
- 35:17Speaker 1: So I mean that's what we do. We you know,
- 35:20Speaker 1: labels and everybody, they sent us prep sheets.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I don't I don't read. I don't read I read it.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna listen to the music.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm a study and then we're gonna flow because we
- 35:31Speaker 2: like to have a conversation and we like the the
- 35:34Speaker 2: dope accidents that may may or.
- 35:35Speaker 1: May not happen.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly on the interview, like you're.
- 35:38Speaker 4: Talking about coffee, man, I'm like, damn, now you're gonna
- 35:41Speaker 4: have me start thinking about some coffee like that Like that?
- 35:45Speaker 3: That was crazy.
- 35:46Speaker 2: We do have one more statement before we get out
- 35:48Speaker 2: of here. It is the mental health check in courtesy
- 35:50Speaker 2: of the Faith Project with a Keisha. How does give
- 35:53Speaker 2: you strengthen or keep his mental health intact?
- 35:57Speaker 3: What do you do?
- 35:59Speaker 5: I say, the two most important things to me will
- 36:03Speaker 5: be working out. It could be something small, just run,
- 36:07Speaker 5: weightlifting those little things. Or just like your core family friends,
- 36:12Speaker 5: because conversation pull up, conversation pull up and not even
- 36:15Speaker 5: on some what you've been going through. It could just
- 36:18Speaker 5: be like a normal just aging combo and not energized you.
- 36:22Speaker 5: So yeah, I think surrounding yourself with your family friends
- 36:26Speaker 5: and keep your body moving.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Well. Listen, I appreciate you. I know BT does as
- 36:32Speaker 1: well spending some time with us. Bro. Hope you enjoy
- 36:35Speaker 1: your gift.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Watch Yeah, and one time for all the beloveds that's
- 36:42Speaker 4: watching right now, said you had a crazy meet and
- 36:45Speaker 4: greet too yesterday.
- 36:47Speaker 3: dB DBS Yeah it was yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Louis V told us he said, man, you had a
- 36:53Speaker 4: line wrapped around the building waiting.
- 36:55Speaker 3: It was too long. It was a lot of people there.
- 36:58Speaker 3: You was tired of taking pictures.
- 37:00Speaker 5: No, I was just like, oh that's good though, Yeah,
- 37:02Speaker 5: it's good. And then they'll never forget that in Atlanta,
- 37:05Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, Like Atlanta has a thirst
- 37:08Speaker 5: for R and B. Bro Like you know, we be
- 37:09Speaker 5: turned and have like turned up music, but it is
- 37:12Speaker 5: an audience that loves your music in particular. So I
- 37:16Speaker 5: was just happy to see you come to the market too,
- 37:18Speaker 5: because yeah, we's number seven in the country. You might
- 37:21Speaker 5: to be number six. People keep moving here, yeah.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Population yeah, yeah, number seven right now. We just traded places,
- 37:28Speaker 1: but we right behind Houston right now.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, you gotta come back, and you gotta
- 37:33Speaker 4: come to my R and B party. I have a
- 37:35Speaker 4: We play real R and B music. Yeah, it ain't
- 37:38Speaker 4: where you know you go to R and B part
- 37:39Speaker 4: and they play R and B for thirty minutes and
- 37:41Speaker 4: they about trapping out for three hours. No, we got
- 37:44Speaker 4: we play real R and B music. So when you
- 37:46Speaker 4: come back, is it on a specific Wednesday week? We
- 37:49Speaker 4: do it on Wednesday every every Wednesday.
- 37:51Speaker 3: I feel like they told me about that. They did
- 37:54Speaker 3: tell you about that. We tell I was sleep he said,
- 37:56Speaker 3: I was sleepy.
- 37:57Speaker 1: But what we will do is we won't go to
- 37:59Speaker 1: the strip club. But I get the I get the
- 38:01Speaker 1: lemon pepper ranch sprinkles.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Wings delivered from agus. Yeah of course, yes, yeah, yeah,
- 38:09Speaker 3: so they got to go in there to get it. Yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 3: Robert gotta go to get That's how I get. That's
- 38:16Speaker 3: how I get Roscoe's chicken. I don't I don't go

- 38:32Speaker 1: I'm thinking chick.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Yeah I know.
