An 80-year-old woman has died while trying to escape a massive wildfire in Canada's British Columbia. A state of emergency has been declared in the province, as a major blaze near the district of Summerland continues to grow. More than 20,000 people have been evacuated. The Globe and Mail senior reporter Steven Chase spoke to John Campbell from Ottawa.
