- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Here comes the Mark Simone Show on seven tr.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Hey, Well, we'll get to Lindsey Graham, we'll get to Iran,
- 0:14Speaker 3: We'll get to FIFA, We'll get to Crazy Mom, Donnie
- 0:16Speaker 3: Legionnaire's disease, what you need to know, and a whole
- 0:20Speaker 3: lot more coming up. It's Monday, it's warm. I got
- 0:25Speaker 3: one heat wave day. That'll be Wednesday, where it gets
- 0:28Speaker 3: to the mid nineties. Won't be as bad as that
- 0:30Speaker 3: last e wave because a little less humidity. Lindsey Graham
- 0:35Speaker 3: apparently was having some symptoms and should have done something
- 0:42Speaker 3: weeks and weeks ago. Should have seen a doctor, should
- 0:45Speaker 3: have gotten some help, but he neglected it and died
- 0:52Speaker 3: from torn a order basically a heart attack heart failure
- 0:58Speaker 3: on Saturday. He was a big drinker, I mean not
- 1:02Speaker 3: an alcoholic, but a big drinker. He was always drinking.
- 1:04Speaker 3: That didn't help the situation. And again there was some
- 1:07Speaker 3: morning signs he should have had checked out, but didn't,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and he had gone to Ukraine and made a long,
- 1:13Speaker 3: long trip home from Ukraine on Saturday. Called the President
- 1:17Speaker 3: when he got back, mostly to tell him about his
- 1:21Speaker 3: talks with Zelensky, talk about the save America Act and
- 1:26Speaker 3: said he was tired. It was right after that phone
- 1:29Speaker 3: call with the President on Saturday night that he started
- 1:32Speaker 3: to have chest pains. He's not married, he was never married,
- 1:35Speaker 3: doesn't have children, lived alone. But when he was having
- 1:38Speaker 3: these chest pains, he called a friend of his and
- 1:40Speaker 3: she called it nine one one and she headed over
- 1:44Speaker 3: to his house. Nine one one got there first. He
- 1:48Speaker 3: tried to leave the door open for them, but there's
- 1:49Speaker 3: a gate that you can hear nine one one actually
- 1:52Speaker 3: calling the medics calling for police to help them make
- 1:56Speaker 3: a forcible entry into his house. They couldn't save him,
- 2:00Speaker 3: and he died at the age of seventy one. He
- 2:03Speaker 3: was supposed to be on Meet the Press Sunday morning,
- 2:08Speaker 3: and then who filled in? Donald Trump on the phone
- 2:11Speaker 3: called in to Meet the Press to talk about Lindsey Graham.
- 2:14Speaker 4: And he called and he said, we're all set for
- 2:17Speaker 4: the Save America Act. He was pushing the Save America
- 2:20Speaker 4: Act like crazy. He got back, said he just landed
- 2:22Speaker 4: from Ukraine. I said, that's a long trip to me, said,
- 2:26Speaker 4: he sounded a little tired, but perfect.
- 2:28Speaker 5: But it's a little bit tired.
- 2:30Speaker 6: I had a right to be. Then.
- 2:32Speaker 4: He was a worker I know he was really a worker.
- 2:34Speaker 4: But he sounded great, actually, but he was. He actually
- 2:38Speaker 4: said he was tired.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Now, it's a huge loss for President Trump. Huge loss,
- 2:44Speaker 3: and it's not just a vote in the Senate. It
- 2:46Speaker 3: was Lindsay Graham who got a lot done for President Trump.
- 2:49Speaker 3: First of all, they talked almost every day. He was
- 2:53Speaker 3: a real advisor confidante of the presidents. But also he
- 2:57Speaker 3: was a guy who could run around in the Senate
- 2:59Speaker 3: and people over. If they needed to convince some Democrats,
- 3:02Speaker 3: it was Lindsey Graham that could do it. He was
- 3:05Speaker 3: like an old fashion senator from the Tip O'Neil days,
- 3:09Speaker 3: where in those days everybody was friendly. If you were
- 3:12Speaker 3: a Republican, you'd go talk to your Democratic friends, you'd
- 3:15Speaker 3: take him to lunch, you'd go out for drinks after work,
- 3:18Speaker 3: that kind of stuff. That's all gone except Lindsey Graham
- 3:20Speaker 3: was still from that school of doing things and very
- 3:25Speaker 3: effective at getting votes, at organizing things, getting things done.
- 3:29Speaker 3: So huge loss for President Trump.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I just can't believe it. He was like a member
- 3:35Speaker 4: of the family.
- 3:35Speaker 7: To me.
- 3:36Speaker 4: It's very tough. Actually, it's amazing. He was. He was
- 3:41Speaker 4: such an advocate, he was you know, if he if
- 3:43Speaker 4: he wanted to get something, and you know, he had
- 3:46Speaker 4: a unique ability. He was able to deal with Democrats.
- 3:49Speaker 4: And if I had a problem, a real problem, I
- 3:52Speaker 4: wouldn't often ask, but if I had a problem with
- 3:55Speaker 4: a Democrat, he could work it out.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yeah. And no better friend to Ukraine to Israel then
- 4:03Speaker 3: Lindsey Grammy, your Benjamin Natanya, who has been coming on
- 4:06Speaker 3: a lot of shows the last two days to talk
- 4:08Speaker 3: about his great friend and supporter, Lindsay Graham.
- 4:11Speaker 7: I think America has lost a great patriot. Israel has
- 4:15Speaker 7: lost one of the great champions of the American Israeli Alliance.
- 4:19Speaker 7: And frankly, I've lost a beloved friend who I've had
- 4:24Speaker 7: for many decades.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's a huge loss. South Carolina. The governor McMaster,
- 4:31Speaker 3: very close ally of President Trump's, will have to appoint
- 4:34Speaker 3: somebody to take over that Senate seat until January. Then
- 4:39Speaker 3: at some point they'll have to have an election. But
- 4:44Speaker 3: no matter who gets elected, it will be the disappointment
- 4:47Speaker 3: that is in the Senate seat till January. There's a
- 4:51Speaker 3: couple of choices. President Trump has somebody in mind, and
- 4:55Speaker 3: again he's very close to McMaster. They'll figure this out.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Well, I have somebody that I think would be great,
- 5:00Speaker 4: but I don't want to say it now because it just,
- 5:03Speaker 4: you know, it's too soon. With Lindsey, I don't want
- 5:06Speaker 4: to even talk about anybody. But I do have somebody
- 5:08Speaker 4: that I think is really good.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Hey, remember South Carolina has another great senator, Tim Scott.
- 5:13Speaker 8: I'm not sure everyone connects the dots on who he
- 5:15Speaker 8: is and why he is. His mother dies of cancer,
- 5:20Speaker 8: fifteen months later, his dad dies of a massive heart attack.
- 5:24Speaker 8: He adopts his a thirteen year old sister when he
- 5:27Speaker 8: was just nineteen years old and a student at the
- 5:30Speaker 8: University of South Carolina, and that remarkably hard and harsh
- 5:35Speaker 8: beginning would frame his worldview.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's also interesting to note he was not
- 5:41Speaker 3: a rich guy. He's one of the few people in
- 5:44Speaker 3: the Senate that did not cash in on being a
- 5:46Speaker 3: senator with all that insider trading and all that stuff.
- 5:49Speaker 3: You know, Pelosi worth four hundred million, five hundred million,
- 5:53Speaker 3: some worth six hundred million. These guys, even Marjorie Taylor Green,
- 5:57Speaker 3: They're two minutes made twenty five million. A senator. You
- 6:01Speaker 3: get all kinds of inside information and believe it or not.
- 6:04Speaker 3: If you're in the Senate. It's legal in the Senate
- 6:07Speaker 3: to trade stocks on inside information. And that's how many
- 6:11Speaker 3: of these people make a fortune. Lindsey Graham did not
- 6:14Speaker 3: make a lot of money, did not die wealthy. And
- 6:18Speaker 3: it just goes to show what I wanted, an honest,
- 6:21Speaker 3: honorable guy. He was really decent guy. Now who could
- 6:28Speaker 3: get that appointment to take his seat? Well, it can't
- 6:30Speaker 3: be Nicki Haley. She's totally disqualified because everybody hates her,
- 6:36Speaker 3: the President, the Governor. She's the nastiest, most awful person
- 6:39Speaker 3: to work with. Everybody that was in the White House
- 6:42Speaker 3: when she was there said the most awful person they
- 6:45Speaker 3: ever worked with. So and the President made that pretty clear.
- 6:48Speaker 3: There's no way it's going to be Nicki Haley. She
- 6:50Speaker 3: even put out a statement saying, I will not be
- 6:52Speaker 3: running in this election because she can't even run for
- 6:55Speaker 3: the seat because the President everybody would come out and
- 6:58Speaker 3: denounce her. So she's got no shot at that. Iran. Well,
- 7:04Speaker 3: price of oil, you know, we were back to fighting
- 7:07Speaker 3: with Iran, but the price of oil is not really
- 7:09Speaker 3: spiked much. It went up a little, just a little.
- 7:13Speaker 3: It was you know, before the wards in the Upper sixties,
- 7:17Speaker 3: sixty seven, sixty eight, and we had it down to
- 7:19Speaker 3: that a week ago. Now it's spiked up to seventy three,
- 7:22Speaker 3: which is not much. In the first round of the
- 7:25Speaker 3: Iran War its spiked up to one hundred and ten,
- 7:27Speaker 3: So this is very very very minor spike. This round
- 7:32Speaker 3: will probably go a few weeks. We're hitting about one
- 7:34Speaker 3: hundred and ninety five two hundred targets a day. We're
- 7:37Speaker 3: taken out missiles and drones and defense capabilities and radar
- 7:43Speaker 3: and all that sort of stuff. Actually, and we're concentrating
- 7:46Speaker 3: more on missile launchers rather than missiles. It's the launchers
- 7:49Speaker 3: that are, you know, the stuff we need to take out,
- 7:52Speaker 3: because you could have a lot of missiles, but if
- 7:54Speaker 3: you can't launch them, they won't do anything. So this
- 7:58Speaker 3: will go on for a six or seven weeks, and
- 8:01Speaker 3: then we'll see the Straight of horn Moose. Were about
- 8:06Speaker 3: to open the Northern nothing northern, the southern route. The
- 8:10Speaker 3: northern route is right along the coast of Iraq. Southern
- 8:13Speaker 3: route the other side of it. We opened that last time,
- 8:17Speaker 3: we'll open it again. And by the way, when the
- 8:18Speaker 3: President opened the Straight of horn Moose a few weeks ago,
- 8:21Speaker 3: and he only had it open a few weeks. It
- 8:24Speaker 3: was pretty successful. Eight hundred ships got through when we
- 8:29Speaker 3: had it open, eight hundred and twenty ships actually came through.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Eight hundred and twenty ships got through, and they brought
- 8:35Speaker 3: out three hundred and eighty million gallons of barrels of oil.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Three hundred and eighty million barrels of oil, so that's
- 8:44Speaker 3: pretty successful. So they'll get that open again. That's one
- 8:46Speaker 3: reason price oil is not spiking up too much, because
- 8:50Speaker 3: they realize that we'll get the we'll get the southern
- 8:54Speaker 3: route open, which means the strait is basically half open,
- 8:56Speaker 3: which is all you need now. Iran had threatened to
- 9:01Speaker 3: kill Donald Trump. They've tried it before, but at the
- 9:05Speaker 3: funeral for their leader, which they had last week, huge
- 9:08Speaker 3: flags and huge banners saying that we will kill Donald Trump.
- 9:14Speaker 3: We will kill Trump. So and is Israeli intelligence picking
- 9:18Speaker 3: up the warning signs that they're out to kill Trump.
- 9:20Speaker 3: That's why they couldn't use the new air force one.
- 9:22Speaker 3: They had used the old one. The new one doesn't
- 9:25Speaker 3: have full missile defense and they were taken off from Turkey,
- 9:30Speaker 3: and what Israeli intelligence had picked up was that there
- 9:34Speaker 3: was a chance of shoulder fired missile somewhere on the ground.
- 9:38Speaker 3: And that's why when Trump left Turkey, it was in
- 9:41Speaker 3: the old Air Force One that has full missile defense,
- 9:44Speaker 3: and it was surrounded by fighter jets, not escorted by two,
- 9:48Speaker 3: surrounded by about fifteen fighter jets as Air Force One
- 9:53Speaker 3: came back to the US. Now, the President has made
- 9:55Speaker 3: it clear he's left instructions with everybody that if any
- 10:00Speaker 3: happens to him, they are to just literally wipe out Iran.
- 10:04Speaker 3: He said there are a thousand missiles locked and loaded,
- 10:07Speaker 3: ready to go, and that would only be round one.
- 10:09Speaker 3: We would then wipe out everything in Iran. So that's
- 10:12Speaker 3: a pretty good deterrent. But who knows what these crazy lunatics,
- 10:15Speaker 3: if anything, is a deterrent President Trump, but also over
- 10:20Speaker 3: the weekend mocking the Democratic Party for letting what he
- 10:23Speaker 3: called the loud and unattractive socialists take control, the radical
- 10:28Speaker 3: left lunatics who've taken over the party. You know, if
- 10:31Speaker 3: you're a Democrat, your enemy is Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi,
- 10:35Speaker 3: Hakeem Jeffries, Adam Schiff, all these people. This is the enemy.
- 10:41Speaker 3: These are the people that allowed your party to be
- 10:43Speaker 3: taken over by crazed socialists by nutjobs. It's Schumer, Jeffries,
- 10:48Speaker 3: those leaders that should have stopped this, that should have
- 10:51Speaker 3: done something about it, should have held the line on this.
- 10:54Speaker 3: They gave up, They surrendered, They hid under the desk
- 10:57Speaker 3: and let the lunatics take over the party. We should talk.
- 11:01Speaker 3: We got the Mam Donni here in New York who
- 11:04Speaker 3: put out that ridiculous map. It was basically for FIFA visitors,
- 11:08Speaker 3: people from all over the world coming here. He put
- 11:10Speaker 3: out a map of if you want to visit some
- 11:12Speaker 3: of our great ethnic neighborhoods, where to visit. He had
- 11:16Speaker 3: Little Yemen, Little Pakistan, little Nirobi. He left out little Italy,
- 11:24Speaker 3: left out the great Irish and Italian neighborhoods. Little Italy
- 11:28Speaker 3: is one of the big, big, big tourist attractions. Even locals,
- 11:32Speaker 3: even people in suburbs. How many times, how many times
- 11:36Speaker 3: somebody said, Hey, let's go eat in little Italy. Let's
- 11:38Speaker 3: go down a little Italy. You hear that all the time.
- 11:41Speaker 3: When was the last time anybody said to you, let's
- 11:44Speaker 3: go to a little Yemen to get something to eat.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Let's go eat in little Pakistan. It's never happened, Mam
- 11:50Speaker 3: Donnie coming up with one ridiculous excuse after another. The
- 11:55Speaker 3: reason he left off Little Italy is obviously socialism. Anti
- 11:59Speaker 3: semit comes with it. And that's just chapter one. Right
- 12:02Speaker 3: behind anti Semitism is anti Catholic. That's why I know
- 12:07Speaker 3: literally no Irish neighborhoods, and the right behind that is
- 12:10Speaker 3: anti Christian. Mom, Donnie again with the dumbest excuses.
- 12:14Speaker 2: This map was initially created by the prior administration in
- 12:17Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, and when we inherited it, we added
- 12:20Speaker 2: a few additional neighborhoods. It's clearly not an exhaustive list
- 12:24Speaker 2: of the more than two hundred ethnic communities that call
- 12:27Speaker 2: our city home, and we're going to be making additional
- 12:30Speaker 2: changes in the future to reflect that, and that includes
- 12:32Speaker 2: adding Little Lily to the map.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Ye, well there you go. They inherited it from the
- 12:38Speaker 3: previous administration. Well that happens all the time, you know.
- 12:41Speaker 3: We Hey, we're here at WR. We inherited this from
- 12:45Speaker 3: the previous owner. And when iHeart bought it, it was
- 12:48Speaker 3: a dump. This place, it was hideous, So we tore
- 12:52Speaker 3: it all down and built a whole new place. That
- 12:54Speaker 3: happens all the time. They'd buy a building. Fix it up.
- 12:59Speaker 3: So even you got the map from the previous administration,
- 13:03Speaker 3: you fix it up, You'll look it over. And nobody
- 13:07Speaker 3: believes this excuse it was from the previous administration. So
- 13:10Speaker 3: he just comes up with one excuse after another. So
- 13:13Speaker 3: one of his commissioners was caught about to have a
- 13:16Speaker 3: meeting with the Iranian ambassador, which we don't recognize. And
- 13:22Speaker 3: you're not supposed to meet the Iranian ambassador when we're
- 13:25Speaker 3: at war with them, Mom, Donnie trying to explain that away.
- 13:29Speaker 2: That meeting did not take place. It will not take place,
- 13:32Speaker 2: and I did not know about it until there was
- 13:34Speaker 2: a press inquiry regarding it. And when it comes to
- 13:38Speaker 2: the work of our commissioner and our International Affairs Office,
- 13:42Speaker 2: it's to ensure that as we are a city of
- 13:44Speaker 2: the world, that we are also there to meet with
- 13:47Speaker 2: leaders from across the world. The focus is always on
- 13:50Speaker 2: our city and our relationship.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Hell is this guy talking about our International Affairs Office.
- 13:55Speaker 3: The Mayor of New York fixed the potholes, run the
- 13:59Speaker 3: police Department, our Foreign Affairs, International Policy Institute. This guy
- 14:04Speaker 3: has visions of grandeur. You see, this guy's never had
- 14:07Speaker 3: a job before. He's thirty four years old. He's just
- 14:11Speaker 3: a kid, never had a job before, so he envisions himself.
- 14:15Speaker 3: You got to admit it's a pretty amazing accomplishment to
- 14:18Speaker 3: be twelve years old, never had a job, and you're
- 14:20Speaker 3: the mayor of New York. It's like the Doogie howser.
- 14:23Speaker 3: It's an amazing accomplishment mayor of New York at thirty
- 14:26Speaker 3: four first job ever. So based on that, I could
- 14:30Speaker 3: see where he gets carried away, thinks he'll be a president.
- 14:33Speaker 3: He's not qualified to be president because he wasn't born
- 14:35Speaker 3: in this country, but he's imagining something that will be
- 14:39Speaker 3: some kind of international figure. That's why he has an
- 14:41Speaker 3: International Foreign Affairs Policy Institute office. And if this commissioner
- 14:48Speaker 3: is running around meeting with the Iranian ambassador, why isn't
- 14:50Speaker 3: she telling anybody as he claims?
- 14:52Speaker 2: The commissioner recognizes that this was made an error, and
- 14:55Speaker 2: we're working on a new process in terms of new
- 14:58Speaker 2: meeting requests.
- 15:00Speaker 3: See that's how you talk when you're in government. You
- 15:02Speaker 3: just say you got caught was doing something you make
- 15:05Speaker 3: it was a position error, where a process of requests
- 15:11Speaker 3: of you just throw on these government sort of words
- 15:13Speaker 3: and try to tunk your way out of it. Hey,
- 15:16Speaker 3: We'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:19Speaker 3: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 15:23Speaker 3: one zero seven ten.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Live from the w R Life Back Studios, Bill Mark
- 15:29Speaker 2: Simon Show.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Let's take some calls. Let's go to uh, Jay in
- 15:35Speaker 3: New Jersey. Jay, how you doing.
- 15:39Speaker 9: With Wendy Graham. Everybody loves us to talk about the Bretcat.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Calls back. Your phone is cracking up. Let's go to
- 15:48Speaker 3: Stuart in South Carolina. Stuart, how you doing, Hey, Mark?
- 15:52Speaker 3: How are you?
- 15:52Speaker 1: I just want to Lindsey Graham was my senator. There
- 15:57Speaker 1: are times that we were so furious with him. We
- 16:00Speaker 1: tried to get rid of him often, and there were
- 16:04Speaker 1: times that we looked him. I mean, uh, the days
- 16:07Speaker 1: that he was good friends with John McCain were not
- 16:10Speaker 1: good days here with him. But you know it's uh,
- 16:13Speaker 1: the vitriol that I've seen online about him has just
- 16:16Speaker 1: been unbelievable. I mean, people have done.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Democrats, Democrats pretty pretty tasteless about Lindsey Graham online.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Oh it was awful. And they're looking at they were
- 16:27Speaker 1: talking about Joe Wilson, who is I think kind of
- 16:30Speaker 1: like Joe Biden right now. You know, he's a Republican,
- 16:33Speaker 1: but he's he's kind of out of it. And they're
- 16:35Speaker 1: talking about Nancy Mays who ran for governor here and lost,
- 16:39Speaker 1: so she's going to be out of Congress soon, so
- 16:41Speaker 1: they're talking about her replacing him, which I wouldn't mind.
- 16:45Speaker 1: She's she's done some pretty good things. But yeah, it
- 16:48Speaker 1: was quite a shock. You know, I've met him, I
- 16:50Speaker 1: didn't know him, but uh, yeah, it's it's uh, it's
- 16:54Speaker 1: quite a loss for South Carolina. Kim Scott is now senior.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Senior, so he's now the senior centre. But all right, Stuart,
- 17:01Speaker 3: great call, thanks for calling. Let's try. Let's Jay is
- 17:05Speaker 3: back Jay in New Jersey. How you doing? Yeah?
- 17:09Speaker 10: Mark?
- 17:09Speaker 9: Sorry, But people love to talk about Lindsey Graham's moment
- 17:13Speaker 9: with Bret Havanaugh. You know that was that was when
- 17:15Speaker 9: he stood up for him and all the Democrats were
- 17:17Speaker 9: trying to destroy him. But I think people forget that
- 17:20Speaker 9: Lindsey Graham voted for every liberal judge that came his way.
- 17:23Speaker 9: He voted for keg and Sado mayor and every leftist
- 17:26Speaker 9: judge below that. So I think that that's not a legacy.
- 17:29Speaker 9: If if anything that's kind of you know, where we
- 17:31Speaker 9: should not talk about.
- 17:32Speaker 3: You know, yeah, listen, he uh spent a lot of
- 17:36Speaker 3: time on the left side of things, then moved to
- 17:40Speaker 3: the right side of things.
- 17:41Speaker 6: You know.
- 17:41Speaker 3: They say it's it's not where you start, it's where
- 17:43Speaker 3: you finish. But he was like McCain. He could go
- 17:46Speaker 3: either way, and that's why they called him a maverick.
- 17:48Speaker 3: But that's you know, that's okay. He was still a
- 17:50Speaker 3: great guy and he did a lot of good things.
- 17:53Speaker 3: But let's go to uh Mark and Hawthorne. Mark, how
- 17:56Speaker 3: you doing? Hey, how are you good?
- 17:59Speaker 1: Miss spoke before when he said that he couldn't be
- 18:02Speaker 1: president because he wasn't born here, have to be a
- 18:05Speaker 1: natural born citizen or neck.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Yet, why are you the only one that couldn't figure
- 18:09Speaker 3: out what I was saying? He wasn't born here, He
- 18:11Speaker 3: can't run for president anyway, thanks for calling uh yeah, Mom,
- 18:16Speaker 3: Downey wasn't born in the US, can't be president. Let's
- 18:20Speaker 3: go to uh Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich. How you doing?
- 18:24Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 18:24Speaker 10: Thanks?
- 18:24Speaker 4: Mark?
- 18:24Speaker 10: You know, Lindsay Graham was a swamp creature. He was
- 18:27Speaker 10: part of the Gang of Aid who wanted the amnesty
- 18:30Speaker 10: for who knows how many millions of legals he really
- 18:33Speaker 10: blew whichever way the poles blew. He didn't really help
- 18:35Speaker 10: us down here South Carolina with the gas prices, you know,
- 18:38Speaker 10: with the oil and all that kind of stuff. And
- 18:41Speaker 10: he really was you know. And now they're talking about,
- 18:43Speaker 10: you know, against Pam Evatt, who's from Ohio originally, who
- 18:47Speaker 10: ran for governor and the primary, and I lost that,
- 18:51Speaker 10: so I'm I'm a grace person. Also, I think she'd
- 18:54Speaker 10: be pretty good down here. But Lindsay Graham, you know,
- 18:57Speaker 10: you know, unless he was fighting for a publican judge
- 19:01Speaker 10: on TV, he did really nothing. The office has never
- 19:04Speaker 10: returned fall calls. He pretty much blew with the wind
- 19:06Speaker 10: and just faced whatever polls would make him look good.
- 19:09Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, I forgot. We have a lot of
- 19:10Speaker 3: listeners in South Carolina, so you guys calls now.
- 19:14Speaker 10: Originally from New York, so I know you guys down there.
- 19:16Speaker 10: My parents have been here since eighty five.
- 19:18Speaker 3: You guys in South Carolina weren't too thrilled on them,
- 19:20Speaker 3: but you like your governor McMaster.
- 19:22Speaker 6: Right, he's okay.
- 19:25Speaker 10: And now the big pressures on him is some people
- 19:27Speaker 10: accused him of being kind of middle of the road.
- 19:29Speaker 10: Now in South Carolina, the governor does not have when
- 19:33Speaker 10: he the two things going to happen. Number One, he
- 19:35Speaker 10: gets to a point, the Techway person which does not
- 19:38Speaker 10: have to be of the same party that the senator
- 19:41Speaker 10: who just left has to be, so he could appoint
- 19:43Speaker 10: a Democrat.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Could be a disaster.
- 19:45Speaker 10: That's like that. But now we're gonna have a special
- 19:48Speaker 10: election and a primary. We're actually gonna have a primary,
- 19:51Speaker 10: so nobody's going to be anointed, and that's going to
- 19:53Speaker 10: start in August, and then they're gonna have the elect
- 19:55Speaker 10: I think they start the primary the end of July
- 19:58Speaker 10: or the beginning of August, and by the end of
- 19:59Speaker 10: our in August, we'll have somebody who's actually gonna win
- 20:02Speaker 10: that seat and have a special election. Then in November
- 20:05Speaker 10: that person has to go against a Democratic nominee.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll work out for You'll do all right down there.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Thanks for Colin. Well, let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 20:14Speaker 3: how you doing.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark, Good morning, Mara. Mark. I'd like to
- 20:18Speaker 6: offer my condolences to Lindsey Graham's sister and his niece,
- 20:22Speaker 6: and apparently last night they were talking about Lindsey Graham,
- 20:26Speaker 6: family wise, with his sister and his niece, was a
- 20:29Speaker 6: real stand up guy that when his parents died, he
- 20:32Speaker 6: took it upon himself to help raise his sister and
- 20:36Speaker 6: take care of that. That to me, aside from the politics,
- 20:40Speaker 6: that to me is the measure of a man. You know,
- 20:45Speaker 6: he did the right thing with his family. And I hope,
- 20:49Speaker 6: as Rich from South Carolina said, I hope the governor
- 20:52Speaker 6: down there picks a person who was for the America
- 20:58Speaker 6: First Trump agenda and not some wobbly rhino or god forbid,
- 21:03Speaker 6: some Democrat. And I hope we get a good pool,
- 21:06Speaker 6: as Rich said, of applicants for the Republican primary, and
- 21:12Speaker 6: that they stick with the Trump's America First agenda. As
- 21:17Speaker 6: a side note, on the Parkway yesterday and coming home
- 21:21Speaker 6: from the shore, gas was four p forty nine on
- 21:24Speaker 6: the Parkway, which compared to Obama's days. I remember going
- 21:29Speaker 6: on the Parkway, gas was four sixty nine a gallon.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I remember that's New York, New Jersey. It's three eighty
- 21:36Speaker 3: everywhere else in the country someplace I.
- 21:38Speaker 6: Know, Mark, I know, I know actually some places in
- 21:41Speaker 6: the country it's it's it's even less like Arkansas, and
- 21:47Speaker 6: places like that. Oklahoma, it's even less. But I just
- 21:52Speaker 6: I'd never guess up on the parkway, So I'm not
- 21:55Speaker 6: worried about I don't guess up on the parkway. First off,
- 21:59Speaker 6: I just don't.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I understand. Too many cameras there or something like that. Well,
- 22:04Speaker 3: you don't have answer.
- 22:06Speaker 6: No, I go to places where I pay cash.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I got it, I got with it.
- 22:10Speaker 6: I never stick a credit card.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Big water bills with the broccoli rubber band around it, Bob.
- 22:17Speaker 6: Nine of the things I buy in life either other
- 22:20Speaker 6: people buy for me or I pay for with cash.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I understand. I got it all right, Vincent, thanks for calling.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Take care, Oh when we come back. The greatest columnist
- 22:31Speaker 3: in America, Michael Goodwin, great column Yes, stay with lots
- 22:35Speaker 3: to talk to him about, and we'll do that next
- 22:37Speaker 3: on seven ten WR.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Where your comms for common sense?
- 22:42Speaker 7: Mark Simon on sevento.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Well, Michael Goodwin, the finest columnist in America. You're gonna
- 22:51Speaker 3: read them every Sunday, every Wednesday in the New York Post.
- 22:54Speaker 3: And he's with us every Monday. Michael Goodwin, how you doing?
- 22:58Speaker 5: Good morning? Mark? Thank you?
- 23:00Speaker 3: Hey, what a column about mayor Mom? Donnie he's busy
- 23:03Speaker 3: with all sorts of things except what should be his
- 23:07Speaker 3: big focus right now, taking care of the homeless. Didn't
- 23:09Speaker 3: he promise to do that?
- 23:11Speaker 5: Yeah, right, But at the same time he vowed that
- 23:16Speaker 5: he would not remove the encampments. And people might recall
- 23:22Speaker 5: that twenty of the homeless people died froze to death
- 23:28Speaker 5: on the streets during the winter storms. And now here
- 23:33Speaker 5: we are, of course, in the good weather, hot weather,
- 23:36Speaker 5: and his encampments are spreading everywhere they're used. Someone suggestion
- 23:43Speaker 5: they call them Mandaneyville, right, that they are just to
- 23:48Speaker 5: the I wrote about on the west side, the far
- 23:52Speaker 5: west side, near the intrended. I mean, it's amazing, you've
- 23:56Speaker 5: got blocks full of this shantytown material on people. But
- 24:01Speaker 5: of course the filth, littering, petty crime, just the whole
- 24:08Speaker 5: eye sore import on the local business and citizens is
- 24:15Speaker 5: really outrageous. But it's condoned by the mayor.
- 24:19Speaker 3: But explain this to me, the socialist mayor that never
- 24:22Speaker 3: hesitates for the government to take control of people's lives, taxes,
- 24:26Speaker 3: regulate us, tell us what we can do step in
- 24:29Speaker 3: government control with everybody else, why not with the homeless
- 24:33Speaker 3: who might need it? The most.
- 24:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I think if you're looking for consistency, you're expecting
- 24:39Speaker 5: too much. Look, you know, socialism is all about control,
- 24:46Speaker 5: and so in this sense, it is a lack of
- 24:49Speaker 5: control that imposes a control on the citizens itself, right
- 24:55Speaker 5: on the neighborhood and just the tax players who look
- 24:59Speaker 5: at the and say what am I doing here? Why
- 25:03Speaker 5: am I paying taxes? And I had to lay next
- 25:06Speaker 5: to this filth, walk through it, look at it, smell it,
- 25:11Speaker 5: and be afraid of it. That's that's one of the
- 25:15Speaker 5: drawbacks of socialism. It's not reasonable. It is never negotiating
- 25:22Speaker 5: its tenants with the people who pay the bills.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Yeah. So you know, I kept saying, well, it's not
- 25:30Speaker 3: so bad with Mom Donnie, but it's only six months,
- 25:32Speaker 3: right with this one of stuff that you're talking about.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Two years from now, this could be a look like
- 25:38Speaker 3: San Francisco with homeless everywhere in the street, couldn't it.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Sure? Yeah, And you know, Mark, I think I wrote
- 25:44Speaker 5: that column recalling an interview I did with Eric Adams
- 25:50Speaker 5: just before he left office, and he was very upset
- 25:54Speaker 5: and Mom Donnie was going to be the mayor, and
- 25:57Speaker 5: he said, people don't understand how much power a mayor
- 26:01Speaker 5: has so a mayor can simply say to the NYPD,
- 26:06Speaker 5: don't make prostitution arrest on the street, don't arrest people
- 26:11Speaker 5: from miss demeanor crimes, right, and don't rouse the homeless.
- 26:17Speaker 5: And he said, when people start to see this spreading
- 26:20Speaker 5: in their neighborhoods where there's open prostitution, open drug sales,
- 26:25Speaker 5: or the homeless, they're going to maybe finally wake up
- 26:29Speaker 5: and realize the mistake they made in electing him.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but we never thought he'd miss Eric Adams, did we?
- 26:37Speaker 3: But we do.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right.
- 26:40Speaker 6: So a good point.
- 26:41Speaker 3: You got real problems like that legioneer's disease Upper east Side,
- 26:44Speaker 3: Now it's been spotted on the Upper west Side. Shouldn't
- 26:46Speaker 3: the mayor be all over this? Shouldn't his team be
- 26:49Speaker 3: inspecting every water tower in you? Should he do things
- 26:51Speaker 3: like that more well?
- 26:53Speaker 5: Also this question of the high rise building right that buckling.
- 27:00Speaker 5: You don't get a sense of any effort to reform
- 27:05Speaker 5: the public systems that maybe overlooked or did new their jobs.
- 27:11Speaker 5: When it comes to these kinds of things, everything falls
- 27:15Speaker 5: on the private sector, and the government basically bears no
- 27:20Speaker 5: responsibility until the mayor decides or we're going to take
- 27:25Speaker 5: responsibility for your private property, or we're going to impose mandates.
- 27:30Speaker 5: So there's no give and take here, there's only takes.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Yeah, of course you're talking about the permitting process given
- 27:38Speaker 3: out building permits, which is a major source of revenue
- 27:41Speaker 3: for politicians. I don't think they're going to touch that
- 27:44Speaker 3: to you.
- 27:45Speaker 5: Well, the developers and the businesses are big political contributors,
- 27:53Speaker 5: and the mayor basically can't go to war with all
- 27:58Speaker 5: of them and expect to raise money. I mean, George
- 28:02Speaker 5: Soros can't do it all by himself. So I think
- 28:06Speaker 5: usually mayors come to the table with something of a
- 28:12Speaker 5: give and take out you do.
- 28:14Speaker 6: This, will do this.
- 28:16Speaker 5: But when mom Danny, there's none of that. There's no
- 28:19Speaker 5: reasonable negotiation over the way the city works. Is his
- 28:25Speaker 5: way or the highway?
- 28:26Speaker 3: Yeah? Hey, for Democrats out there, shouldn't they be fuming
- 28:30Speaker 3: furious at the leaders at Hakeem Jeffreys and Chuck Schumer
- 28:34Speaker 3: for allowing these crazy socialists and Democrats to flourish in
- 28:38Speaker 3: their party. I mean, Schumer basically hiding under his desk
- 28:41Speaker 3: the last few years. Aren't they the real enemy of
- 28:44Speaker 3: the Democrats that these leaders that let it happen what
- 28:48Speaker 3: they are and.
- 28:48Speaker 5: I think what was market shortal life they taught by
- 28:53Speaker 5: letting the AOC's and Omar and Taviev and the others
- 29:00Speaker 5: to the party, they were effectively tolerating the left and
- 29:04Speaker 5: sort of drawing alive of the Republicans. In fact, the
- 29:09Speaker 5: guard dogs hate the owners.
- 29:12Speaker 3: That's what happened.
- 29:13Speaker 5: That you know that these people have turned on the
- 29:17Speaker 5: Democratic Party and are now on the verge of over,
- 29:22Speaker 5: of taking it over, and of sidelining the Shumers uh
- 29:28Speaker 5: and people like that. Kakim Jeffries. I mean, they're like
- 29:32Speaker 5: turning them into messengers for their for their control of
- 29:37Speaker 5: the party. I just say Schumer's hiding under his desk.
- 29:41Speaker 5: I think Jefferies went away to try to learn how
- 29:45Speaker 5: to speak socialists because he cannot elect anybody. Anybody he
- 29:52Speaker 5: endorses is is just dead meat as far as the
- 29:57Speaker 5: socialists are concerned.
- 29:59Speaker 6: WO.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Well, the only good thing on the horizon is Bruce Blakeman,
- 30:02Speaker 3: who's within six points now seven points maybe of Kathy Hopele.
- 30:06Speaker 3: If Blakeman were to win, don't you think that's the
- 30:08Speaker 3: turning point? It could also the tide could start to
- 30:11Speaker 3: turn there absolutely.
- 30:13Speaker 5: I mean the governor has legal power, line digo power.
- 30:19Speaker 5: George Pataki won in a lawsuit against the Democrats in
- 30:25Speaker 5: the Assembly and really so when it comes to the budget,
- 30:29Speaker 5: he can line on them things out him detail with
- 30:32Speaker 5: a line on him, and so that gives you a
- 30:35Speaker 5: real power. And Leezellen, when he was writing four years ago,
- 30:40Speaker 5: talked about that that's important power that a governor can have.
- 30:44Speaker 5: So even if you have a split government in terms
- 30:48Speaker 5: of Democrats and Republicans, everybody has some power, and the
- 30:53Speaker 5: governor has a lot of power. So look, I would
- 30:56Speaker 5: like to see him, Bruce Blakeman step up the game.
- 31:02Speaker 5: I think the poles are encouraging, but I think there's
- 31:05Speaker 5: a sense Mark that he needs to do out there more.
- 31:09Speaker 5: He needs to be making more news and be more
- 31:13Speaker 5: visible so the readers of the media and things like
- 31:17Speaker 5: that get a sense. People don't call us every day,
- 31:20Speaker 5: but get a sense that there is an alternative to
- 31:23Speaker 5: the Hoko mamzani pokes, which is overtaking this state as
- 31:28Speaker 5: well as the city.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, people say that Alton Blakeman's got to
- 31:32Speaker 3: get out there. Nobody's out there more than Blakeman. I mean,
- 31:34Speaker 3: I look at his schedule he's all over the state,
- 31:36Speaker 3: He's doing everything every day. If the media, the mainstream media,
- 31:40Speaker 3: isn't going to cover it, what does he do about that?
- 31:43Speaker 5: Well, that's a very big issue, and I think part
- 31:47Speaker 5: of the thing it convincing the media that it's a
- 31:52Speaker 5: real race, that he's a serious contender with a real choice.
- 31:57Speaker 5: I think the polls are beginning to show that, but
- 32:01Speaker 5: if they consistently show it to a real race, the
- 32:04Speaker 5: media will get it more coverage, and that I think
- 32:09Speaker 5: will be to his advantage because most voters are unhappy
- 32:14Speaker 5: with the current situation and I'll be, But I think
- 32:17Speaker 5: there's still a little time for Blakeman to make the
- 32:21Speaker 5: case in a way the game's wider coverage, and I
- 32:26Speaker 5: hope that happens soon.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Well we do too. Blakeman would be great for governor Well.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Michael Goodwin great column. You can read Michael Goodwin every
- 32:34Speaker 3: Sunday and every Wednesday in the New York Post. All
- 32:38Speaker 3: of his columns are up on the New York Post website.
- 32:40Speaker 3: You can go there and read them all. Michael Goodwin,
- 32:42Speaker 3: thanks for being with us.
- 32:44Speaker 5: Always a pleasure.
- 32:45Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Mark.
- 32:46Speaker 3: All right, take care, Hey, we got a lot coming up.
- 32:49Speaker 3: We'll get to If you're Johnny Carson fan, make sure
- 32:52Speaker 3: you're listening to the next hour. You got a lot
- 32:53Speaker 3: of Johnny Carson stuff. We'll get to FIFA and this Lesioneers.
- 32:57Speaker 3: We'll go over this in the next hour. Exactly how
- 33:00Speaker 3: it happened, What happens where this Lesioneers is what you
- 33:03Speaker 3: need to know about. It will give you all of that.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Hey to noon today, Buck and Clay Bucks Exton, Clay Travis.
- 33:09Speaker 3: It's a really good show every day from noon to three.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Then at three o'clock you got the most listened to
- 33:14Speaker 3: radio show in America. Sean Hannity got Jesse Kelly every
- 33:19Speaker 3: night six to nine, nine o'clock, Jimmy Fayla, the great,
- 33:23Speaker 3: great comedian, really good talk show host. And you combine
- 33:27Speaker 3: these two things, you get a very funny, great talk
- 33:29Speaker 3: show every night at nine. Right here on seven to ten,
- 33:33Speaker 3: Woir Insight from the Inside.
- 33:38Speaker 1: This is seven ten wars Mark Moon Show.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Well, the death of Lindsey Graham a great surprise for everyone.
- 33:50Speaker 3: President Trump pretty emotional about it, and they were close.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Democrats and some Republicans too, a little tacky about it,
- 33:58Speaker 3: attacking Graham right after he died Democrats, obviously a lot
- 34:04Speaker 3: of them really really inappropriate, tasteless tweeting about Lindsey Graham.
- 34:10Speaker 3: But here's Steve Schmidt. You know it's a Republican advisor.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I think he worked on the Romney campaign. Lindsey Graham
- 34:16Speaker 3: was a simple, tragic man. He lacked the moral core. Well,
- 34:21Speaker 3: I guess he's talking about flip flopping on things, but
- 34:24Speaker 3: you're kind of supposed to not do that stuff right
- 34:28Speaker 3: after the guy dies, I mean the night he dies,
- 34:30Speaker 3: the next morning, it's not the time for it. But well,
- 34:34Speaker 3: he could be. He was very close to John McCain,
- 34:37Speaker 3: and McCain was the same way. You never know what
- 34:39Speaker 3: way he would go on an issue or with somebody.
- 34:43Speaker 3: McCain got labeled a maverick as a result. Lindsey Graham
- 34:46Speaker 3: got labeled a maverick as a result. And he started
- 34:50Speaker 3: off as a big enemy of President Trump, calling him
- 34:53Speaker 3: every name in the world. Remember in that speech where
- 34:56Speaker 3: he said, you want to you want to make a
- 35:00Speaker 3: Erica great again, get rid of Donald Trump, that kind
- 35:02Speaker 3: of stuff. But then he turned the other way, became
- 35:07Speaker 3: very close to Trump, became one of his most trusted advisors, confidants,
- 35:12Speaker 3: and really gave Trump a lot of help understanding the swamp,
- 35:15Speaker 3: pointing out where he needed to get rid of some
- 35:18Speaker 3: people or change some things. So it's a big, big
- 35:21Speaker 3: loss for the president. And no word yet on a
- 35:24Speaker 3: funeral or anything like that for Lindsay Gram wasn't married,
- 35:27Speaker 3: lived alone, Washington, d c. Very modest house, not a
- 35:31Speaker 3: wealthy guy. One of the few people in Congress that
- 35:35Speaker 3: decided not to cash in on it. So hey, coming
- 35:38Speaker 3: up in the next hour, we'll get to Johnny Carson,
- 35:40Speaker 3: We'll get to FIFA, we'll get to Legionneers and all
- 35:44Speaker 3: of that, and who's going to replace Lindsey Graham and Moore?
- 35:48Speaker 3: Just ahead, it's Mark Simone here every weekday ten to noon,
- 35:52Speaker 3: or you can listen anytime. Just get the podcast. We
- 35:55Speaker 3: can hear the show whenever you want. Back after the news,
- 35:58Speaker 3: seven w
