This is the final in the Jeremiah series.

Jeremiah 39:6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also slew all the nobles of Judah. 7 He then blinded Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him in fetters of bronze to bring him to Babylon.

Zedekiah was made an example of and watched in horror as his sons died. The nobles who had treated Jeremiah so poorly and wanted him dead, are now killed. Then they gouge out Zedekiah’s eyes, physically making him blind to coincide with his spiritual blindness. After all this, he is still taken captive to Babylon…
