- 0:11Hello friends, it is Sean here and it is a Friday.
- 0:17Happy Friday to you friend. I hope you're going so well and
- 0:20I hope that your week has gone well and the weekend ahead is
- 0:23looking wonderful for some of you.
- 0:26You have been back at school for a few days, for some of you back
- 0:29to work and for some of you you don't even know what all the
- 0:32fuss is about because you've been working the whole time.
- 0:36So good to have your company as we celebrate together with a
- 0:40Psalm today. And today is also the last day
- 0:44that we get to listen to this Yeehaw country music.
- 0:46Now I love this little track. I'm not a fan of neither country
- 0:51nor Western or if you put them together, but I don't know.
- 0:54There's something about this song.
- 0:55It's so joyful. I I think it's wonderful.
- 0:58And after a couple of weeks, it's time to retire it and move
- 1:02on to a different tune for next week.
- 1:04But we'll enjoy it while it lasts.
- 1:06Yeah. Ah, this is a Psalm of
- 1:11Thanksgiving. In fact, do you know what maybe
- 1:14this tune is? The tune do not destroy.
- 1:17You know that old one that we've had a few psalms go to today is
- 1:20another one. It is a Psalm of ASAP, a song to
- 1:24be sung to the tune Do not Destroy, which actually probably
- 1:28sounds nothing like this little Diddy.
- 1:31So we will fade out the Diddy. And you can imagine the tune of
- 1:34Do not Destroy and we shall read together.
- 1:36Psalm 75. We thank you, O God.
- 1:51We give thanks because you are near people everywhere.
- 1:55Tell of your wonderful deeds. God says at the time.
- 2:00I have planned I will bring justice against the wicked when
- 2:03the earthquakes and its people live in turmoil.
- 2:07I am the one who keeps its foundations firm.
- 2:11I warned the proud. Stop your boasting, I told the
- 2:15wicked, don't raise your fists. Don't raise your fists in
- 2:19defiance at the heavens, or speak with such arrogance, for
- 2:24no one on earth, from east or West, or even from the
- 2:28wilderness, should raise a defiant fist.
- 2:32It is God alone who judges He decides who will rise and who
- 2:37will fall, For the Lord holds a cup in His hand that is full of
- 2:42foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in
- 2:47judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to
- 2:52the dregs. But As for me, I will always
- 2:56proclaim what God has done. I will sing praises to the God
- 3:02of Jacob. For God says I will break the
- 3:06strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the
- 3:10godly. We are thankful.
- 3:24Our hearts just swell with gratitude for all that you have
- 3:28done for us. Thank you for all those
- 3:32beautiful things that you bless us with that hold us and bring
- 3:37us such joy. Even in the midst of challenges
- 3:40that we face, we can still see your bountiful provision for us.
- 3:46We thank you, we lift you up, and we praise you sometimes even
- 3:53to the tune of Do not destroy. You are wonderful, God and and
- 3:58we love you. It's in the name of Jesus that
- 4:01we pray. Amen.
