- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Country Weekly, where we dive
- 0:08into news and gossip from the world of country music.
- 0:12I'm your host, Ken Dawkins, and I will be reading
- 0:14from various sources found online. As a reminder, RADIOI is

- 0:26We'll begin with the first article day of July twenty
- 0:28ninth from lix eighteen dot com with an article written
- 0:32by Aaron Roses. Rupp Arena to host farewell performance of
- 0:37country music icon John Michael Montgomery. Country music icon and
- 0:42Nicholasville native John Michael Montgomery is set to perform his
- 0:45final show silbe at rupp Arena on December twelfth during
- 0:49his The Road Home tour. A news release detail that
- 0:53the country star will share the stage with his brother
- 0:56Eddie Montgomery, along with his son Walker and his son
- 0:59in law Travis. I stepped on a tour bus for
- 1:02the first time in nineteen ninety two and haven't looked
- 1:05back since. But now it's time to bring it all
- 1:07back home from my last concert, and I can't think
- 1:10of a better place than Rupperena. Montgomery Express I wanted
- 1:14to celebrate this occasion with my family, so I invited
- 1:17some of them to perform with me. We're going to
- 1:19have a lot of fun and end this ride in
- 1:20a big way. Montgomery has known, of course, for his
- 1:23classic hits like Life as a Dance, I Love the
- 1:26Way You Love Me, Be My Baby Tonight, and more.
- 1:29The release read that throughout his successful career in music,
- 1:32he has graced the charts with thirty six singles, including
- 1:36seven songs that reached number one. Tickets will be available
- 1:39for purchase beginning at ten am this weekend at ticketmaster
- 1:43dot com or upperena dot com, or in person at
- 1:46the Central Banks Center office from twelve to four pm
- 1:49on Wednesdays and Fridays. Now we move on to Yahoo
- 1:54Entertainment dot COM's page six with the article dated Saturday,
- 1:58July twenty sixth, Country stars Zach Brown says he's going
- 2:02into debt over his Las Vegas residency. Zach Brown said
- 2:06he's going into debt producing his upcoming residency at Sphere
- 2:09in Las Vegas. It's a big moment in time and
- 2:12it's like for us, I want to be among the
- 2:14names of the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones. And
- 2:16the bands that take that lifelong career impact fan journey
- 2:19to be able to do that, the country music star
- 2:21told us Weekly while promoting his shows on Friday, this
- 2:26is our statement to try to step into that. The
- 2:28Zach Brown Band will kick off their four show run
- 2:31in December, which coincides with the release of their upcoming
- 2:34album Love and Fear. As he preps for the Vegas residency,
- 2:38the Chicken Fried hit maker shared that he's ready to
- 2:40face whatever adversity comes his way and promises that fans
- 2:44will feel every emotion that you can contain during the
- 2:47live performances. There's lots of forces that are always trying
- 2:51to distract you from what you're doing, and you just
- 2:53got to keep plowing away, keep going, he said. He
- 2:57also added he hopes that fans feel his sense of
- 3:00awe and wonder at the creation he and his band
- 3:02have cooked up. I hope they feel wonder. Brown forty
- 3:05six continued, unpredictability is something we use in our live
- 3:08shows a lot. I love pulling out covers that no
- 3:11one would ever expect us to play. That's super fun.
- 3:15This is the same thing visually, sonically, everything that we're doing.
- 3:19We all have the audio finish. We're putting the video
- 3:21pieces together, stitching it together. I'm finishing the story. I'm
- 3:26telling a lot of personal things about my life and
- 3:28that I've never shared before. Everything that's hard that we
- 3:31go through as human beings always ends up making us
- 3:33better in some way. The news comes soon after Brown
- 3:36announced his engagement to jewelry designer Kendris Scott earlier this week.
- 3:40We're so happy and grateful that we found each other,
- 3:43the pair told people on Thursday. Brown and Scott debuted
- 3:46their romance to the world in April as they attended
- 3:48the American Music Awards together. Now we roll over to
- 3:52countrynow dot com with the first article date of July
- 3:55twenty eighth. George Strait raises over six point two five
- 3:59million dollars for Texas flood relief at Straight to the
- 4:02Heart benefit. In the wake of devastating floods across Texas
- 4:07Hill Country, George straight rallied fans and fellow artists for
- 4:09a night of music, generosity, and healing that raised over
- 4:13six point twenty five million and counting for those in need,
- 4:17held at a Stancia at Thunder Valley on Sunday, the
- 4:19twenty seventh, presented by Strait in his long time the
- 4:22Karros del Mar partner Tom Cusick, the sold out benefit
- 4:26concert welcome twelve hundred guests to a Stancip and thunder
- 4:29Valley in Born, Texas. The evening kicked off with a
- 4:33set from the Texas Jam Band, featuring members of Strait's
- 4:36Ace in the Whole Band, followed by performances from Kylie Park,
- 4:40William Beckman, Hudson Westbrook and Way Bench. Ray Benson, Straight
- 4:44and Cusick then took the stage to welcome attendees, followed
- 4:47by a prayer and remarks from Pastor Max Luccato. I
- 4:50have a bookmark that the friend gave me that's embroidered,
- 4:53Pastor Lucado shared. On one side, it's nothing but irregular threads,
- 4:58different lengths, different colors, a lot of knots. But if
- 5:01you flip it over, the message embroidered says God is love.
- 5:04Facing a tragedy is learning to face it from.
- 5:06Speaker 2: The right side.
- 5:08Speaker 1: One side is irregular, it's just nots. It doesn't make sense,
- 5:11and during a time of tragedy, it's essential that we
- 5:13do our very best, as difficult as it may be,
- 5:16to see everything from God's perspective. Texas Governor Greg Abbott
- 5:20also addressed the crowd, praising the tireless work of first
- 5:23responders and encouraging continued.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Support for recovery efforts.
- 5:27Speaker 1: There's a saying that we've all repeated many times, pray
- 5:30as though everything is going to be taken care of
- 5:32by God, but act as though everything is up to you.
- 5:34Governor Abbott remarked, Well, we've prayed endlessly. I want you
- 5:37to know that we have acted endlessly. Also, Texas first
- 5:40responders have rescued or evacuated more than one thousand people.
- 5:44Lives were saved because of those first responders. Give it
- 5:47up for our fearless first responders. A live auction was
- 5:51also held before the knight's headlining performances from Wade Brown,
- 5:54Randy Hawser, Dean Dylan, Riley Green, and Jamie Johnson. This
- 5:58portion of the night helped raise ev more funds benefiting
- 6:01the victims of the Hill Country flood. Straight treated those
- 6:05in attendance to a full set of fan favorites and
- 6:07surprise collaborations. He opened with the Weight of the Badge
- 6:10and was joined by Garth Brooks for arousing performance of
- 6:13the Fireman in honor of first responders. Jamie Johnson also
- 6:17joined Straight for Give It Away, while longtime collaborator Dean
- 6:20Dillon and Straight's son Bubba took the stage for Here
- 6:23for a Good Time. The Country Icon closed things out
- 6:26with his poignant ballad The Cowboy Rides Away. Next, Derk S.
- 6:32Bentley praised his longtime friend Miranda Lambert. She's a future
- 6:36Hall of Fame member. Despite knowing each other for over
- 6:39two decades, Dirk S. Bentley and Miranda Lambert had never
- 6:42recorded a duet with just the two of them until now.
- 6:46Their first official collaboration, Never You, appears on Bentley's latest album,
- 6:49Broken Branches. In honor of this release, Bentley looked back
- 6:53on the early days of their friendship and reflected on
- 6:55getting to watch his fellow artist rise to fame over
- 6:58the years, telling her and Randy Rogers, I found a
- 7:01picture of Miranda and myself and Randy back in two
- 7:04thousand and six. We were on tour together. We were
- 7:07just having so much fun, Bentley told Odyssey's Kate Neil
- 7:12as he relived memories behind the photo. The Arizona native
- 7:15remembered all the excitement that comes with those early milestones.
- 7:18He then shared that it reminds him of his current
- 7:20tour with supporting act Zach Topp, whom he's getting to
- 7:23watch experience those same set of first for the very
- 7:26first time, just as he once did. It reminds me
- 7:29a lot of the tour I'm on now with Zach
- 7:31top just what it's like to be that young and
- 7:33just have that much fun and have your kind of
- 7:35whole career ahead of you. Bentley also took a moment
- 7:38to praise Lambert not just as a collaborator, but as
- 7:41a constant force in the genre. I've just known her
- 7:45for so long and she's still the same person she
- 7:47was back then. She's still so fun to be around.
- 7:50Just say whatever's on her mind, he acknowledged, before later
- 7:52adding she's just one of the greatest singers. And she'd
- 7:55hate for me to say this, but she's a future
- 7:57Hall of Fame member. That makes you sound old, but
- 8:00she's going to be the Country Music Hall of Fame
- 8:02at some point. She's just all time. She's so great,
- 8:05So happy to have her on her track. While the
- 8:08two have worked on music in the past, including on
- 8:10Bad Angel, a three leg collaboration with Jamie Johnson on
- 8:13Bentley's twenty ten bluegrass project Up on the Bridge, That's
- 8:18Up on the Ridge. This is the first time they've
- 8:20had a true duet. Bentley admits he couldn't be more
- 8:23thrilled about how the song turned out. I've always wanted
- 8:26to have a pure kind of duet. We never had
- 8:28one before. We had on my bluegrass record a few
- 8:31years back. I guess about ten years ago, we had
- 8:33a song with Jamie Johnson. We had a three way song.
- 8:36We never had this the two of us. So this
- 8:38track never You and with her is just so fun
- 8:40to have taken a run on that song. She's a
- 8:43perfect fit and I'm so thankful she did it. At
- 8:47first glance, it would be easy to assume that a
- 8:49title like never You would be followed with a negative storyline. However,
- 8:52that's not the case here. Instead, Bentley and Lambert portray
- 8:55the narrative of two people in love who carry the
- 8:58belief that even if everything else in the world the
- 9:00world changes, their unwavering connection is something that will never waiver.
- 9:04Never You joins the immensely powerful storytelling that collectively appears
- 9:08throughout the remainder of the ten tracks on Dirk S
- 9:12Bentley's eleventh studio album. Other special guests that appear includes
- 9:16Stephen Wilson Junior on Cold Beer Can and both John
- 9:19Anderson and Riley Green on the title track. Dirk Spentley's
- 9:23on the road for his thirty City Broken Branches tour
- 9:26features support.
- 9:27Speaker 2: From Zach Topp and the band Lula.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Next, Morgan Wallan grabbed Luke Bryan hit with object in
- 9:34back to back concert incidents it doesn't ever end. Over
- 9:38the weekend, two of the country's music biggest country music stars,
- 9:41Morgan wall and Luke Bryan, experienced alarming encounters with fans
- 9:45who crossed the line with their behavior. These types of
- 9:49crowd interactions appear to be happening more frequently, possibly fueled
- 9:52by social media trends, but regardless of the reason, it's
- 9:55not okay. Artists should never be put in position where
- 9:59they feel unsafe or disrespected on stage. On Friday, Morgan
- 10:04Wallan was grabbed by a fan while walking through the
- 10:05crowd and giving high fives during his concert at Lumenfield
- 10:08in Seattle, and fan captured videos and audience members seen
- 10:12yanking Wallen's hand aggressively clearly taken aback. Wallin turned to
- 10:17confront the fan before continuing toward the stage alongside security.
- 10:21He went on with the performance and thankfully, there were
- 10:23no additional incidents that night. That marks the second time
- 10:28in a recent incident involving overly aggressive fans at one
- 10:31of Wallin's shows. The week prior, during a similar walk
- 10:34through the crowd at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona,
- 10:37another fan grabbed into Wallin's shirt and tugged him as
- 10:40he passed by. Judging by his reaction caught on video,
- 10:43he was visibly unhappy about the interaction. Meanwhile, Luke Bryan
- 10:48was performing at the North Dakota State Fair when a
- 10:50ball around the size of a softball was thrown at
- 10:52the stage. It struck him in the head mid song
- 10:55during country Girl. Though he appeared to be annoyed, Brian
- 10:58paused briefly before resuming the show. These two incidents follow
- 11:02a string of unruly behavior at concerts in recent months
- 11:05we've mentioned last fall, Mount Megan Maroney dodged a flying
- 11:09hat and continued her performance of the twenty eighth of
- 11:12June without missing a beat. After during and during her
- 11:16Heart First tour in twenty twenty three, Kelsey Ballerini was
- 11:19hit in the eye by a flying bracelet. The country
- 11:22stars stopped the show and addressed what happened while on stage.
- 11:26As fan behavior continues to get out of hand, moments
- 11:28like these are clear reminder that respect and boundaries matter
- 11:32for the safety of the artists and to protect what
- 11:34makes live music so special and honestly, who wants to
- 11:37spend hundreds of dollars on a concert just to get
- 11:40kicked out from making a bad decision. Let's do better
- 11:43people next. Luke Combe saddles up from a major comeback
- 11:47with new single Back in the Saddle. Lu Combs as
- 11:51officially back in the Saddle with the release of his
- 11:54highly anticipated new single out Now. The song appears to
- 11:57be autobiographical as it tells the story of a man
- 12:00who is making a major comeback after he's been gone
- 12:03a little too long. I've been waiting on a drummer
- 12:06to kick off a comeback song. I've been waiting in
- 12:08the wings like a dog on a chain, Combs growls
- 12:10at the song's intensity builds. The lyrics, written by the
- 12:15North Carolina native alongside frequent collaborators dan isbel and Jonathan Singleton,
- 12:20use cowboy themed imagery to paint a picture of a
- 12:22man who is ready to reclaim what's his. Because I'm
- 12:25back in the saddle like some old cowboy who dug
- 12:27his way out of his grave, pulled up his boots,
- 12:30put his pistol on his hip, climbed up and took
- 12:32hold of the reins. Don't worry where I've been. I'm
- 12:35back in the saddle again, he declares on the chorus.
- 12:38The radio ready anthem mirrors Combe's personal life and is
- 12:41about him getting back to his roots and reigniting the passion.
- 12:44Speaker 2: That started his musical journey.
- 12:47Speaker 1: It's about just me getting back to what I did
- 12:49when I first started doing music, settling up, hitting the road,
- 12:52getting after it, just kind of getting back to it,
- 12:54he explains. The eleven times CMA Awards winner paired the
- 12:58song's debut with a high octane music videos starring NASCAR
- 13:01legends Dale Lerhart Junior and Richard Petty. Directed by Tyler Adams,
- 13:06The clip features Dale Junior racing around the track as
- 13:09Colms takes his place as the flagman. Later, Petty appears
- 13:12and tells Dale Junior, let me show you how it's done.
- 13:16So much work goes into making these songs so much
- 13:18time we spend making them, from the studio, writing them
- 13:20to their videos. I got to make the video with
- 13:23Dale Junior and Richard Petty, which is a total dream
- 13:25come true. My Grandpa would be rolling over in his
- 13:28grave in a good way if he knew that I
- 13:30got to hang out with Richard Petty and Dale Junior.
- 13:32Combs shares back in the Saddle arrives as backup plan
- 13:37Comb's duet with Bailey Zimmerman continues its rise up the charts.
- 13:40It follows Combs's latest solo single, the heart pounding chart
- 13:43topper Ain't No Love in Oklahoma, and will likely appear
- 13:47on his anticipated, yet to be announced new album. Combs
- 13:51has spent the past several months on an extensive festival run,
- 13:54bringing his high energy live show to festivals such as
- 13:57the Bonnaroo and New Orleans Jazz Fest. Next up, he
- 14:00hit the stage at the Newport Folk Festival in Newport,
- 14:02Rhode Island. Moving On, Tim McGraw reflects on the leap
- 14:07of faith that launched his career. I sold everything I
- 14:11had In nineteen eighty nine, young Tim McGraw made a
- 14:14decision that would change his life forever. With a repertoire
- 14:17of about fifty songs. The Louisiana native dropped out of college,
- 14:20liquidated his assets, and bought a one way ticket to Nashville.
- 14:25Now a bona fide superstar with forty seven chart topping
- 14:28singles to his name, McGraw recently looked back on that
- 14:31life altering choice and his mom's surprisingly supportive reaction. At
- 14:36the time, McGraw had been taking pre law courses while
- 14:39or playing local shows around his college town. I started
- 14:43playing for tips at a local restaurant, and then I
- 14:45put a band together. Then there was less and less
- 14:48of going to class and more and more going out
- 14:50and playing music at night, until it became unsustainable on
- 14:53the class level, he explained in an interview with NPR.
- 14:57At this time, he took a leap of faith. Everything
- 15:00I had sold, my car, sold, my shotguns, everything I
- 15:03had I sold, and I was going to buy a
- 15:05bus ticket to Nashville and have enough money to be
- 15:07in a hotel for a couple of weeks if I
- 15:09needed to. With his mind made up and his heart
- 15:12set on Nashville, McGrath faced the hardest part breaking the
- 15:15news to mom. I had to call mom and tell
- 15:18her and let her know I was dropping out of school,
- 15:19which scared me to death because I knew she didn't
- 15:21graduate high school because of me. She didn't get the
- 15:24opportunities in life that she wanted because of me, because
- 15:27I was born and she had that responsibility. And she
- 15:30was in an abusive relationship, probably because she thought she
- 15:33needed help and needed the support. So for all these reasons,
- 15:37she wanted me to succeed, and I wanted to succeed
- 15:40for her. He was scared to death to make the call,
- 15:43but his mom's response took him by surprise. When I
- 15:46finally got the nerve to do that, I called her
- 15:48and said, Mom, I'm just letting you know that i'm
- 15:49dropping out of college and I'm moving to Nashville to
- 15:51play music. And there was silence on the line, and
- 15:54of course I expected, hell, no, you're not. But what
- 15:57I got back from my mom was, well, I'm surprised
- 15:59you haven't done that already, and she said you need
- 16:01to go do it, otherwise you'll always wonder if you
- 16:04could have made it. We all know now that Tim
- 16:07McGraw ultimately made it. He got on that bus never
- 16:10looked back, arriving in Nashville, on May ninth, nineteen eighty nine.
- 16:14The very same day, his musical hero Keith Whitley tragically
- 16:17died of acute alcohol poisoning. Next, Cody Jinks on tapping
- 16:23into vulnerability, redemption, and resilience on his new album in
- 16:27My Blood. Cody Jinks has released his new album in
- 16:31My Blood out via his label Late August Records on
- 16:34July twenty fifth. This collection boasts eleven tracks and is
- 16:38what the multi platinum singer songwriter calls the best album
- 16:41we've released yet. I hope so, at least. The Fort Worth,
- 16:44Texas native told Country Now in a recent interview, I
- 16:47don't know if it's far more honest than I've ever been.
- 16:49I've always been honest. Maybe vulnerable to the right word.
- 16:52I think this album is really vulnerable. Co Produced by
- 16:55Joshua Thompson and Charles Godfrey, In My Blood found jinx
- 16:59immersing himself and the music at Sonic Ranch outside of
- 17:02El Paso. On the album, he turns the page, entering
- 17:05a new chapter of his life with an involved sense
- 17:08of maturities, explores real life storytelling themes of redemption, resilience,
- 17:12and the working class struggle. Per a press release, these
- 17:16topics aren't difficult for Jenks forty four to capture as
- 17:19a veteran independent artist who has done it all with
- 17:21di I wire approach, having already released ten albums, sold
- 17:25over five million tickets on its tours, and has eight
- 17:28songs certified platinum or gold. From a sonic standpoint, the
- 17:33songs on In My Blood combined the country outlaw's soulful
- 17:37signature sound with a gritty fusion of traditional honky tonk
- 17:40attitude and southern rock vibes. Jink's credits In My Blood
- 17:44as being his most personal project to date, having written
- 17:47all but one track and served as the soul writer
- 17:50for five of the cuts. There was vulnerbility in this
- 17:53record that nobody's ever seen before, and a lot of
- 17:57songs that were coming out that were things that I
- 17:59didn't even know I could write, Jinks shared, revealing that
- 18:02its previous body of work, Changed the Game served as
- 18:05a somewhat of a precursor to his current release. Change
- 18:09the Game was the end of the last era of
- 18:11How I Was, Jinks explained of the twenty twenty four release,
- 18:14which touched on subjects of sobriety, reflection, and triumphs, but
- 18:18also is mainly driven by anger and discord. I think
- 18:21changed the Game was the ending of part one of
- 18:23the book, and hopefully In my Blood is the beginning
- 18:26of a very long part of part two of the book.
- 18:29In a press release, Jinks further explained, we know what
- 18:32we did, we know where we've been, we know what
- 18:34we've done. In My Blood is why we keep doing it.
- 18:38The title track, in My Blood features the only collaboration
- 18:40with guest vocals by Cody Jinks's longtime friend Charlie Starr
- 18:44of BlackBerry Smoke. The buddies have toured together, but this
- 18:47is the first time they've joined forces on a recording.
- 18:50Jinks wrote In My Blood with Star in twenty twenty four,
- 18:54and the song showcases just how all consuming music is
- 18:57to the artist's a y kroons It's in my blood,
- 19:00It's in my bones. The track also finds Jinks driving
- 19:03home the message that he has always enjoyed blazing his
- 19:05own trail, learning from his mistakes and gaining the knowledge
- 19:09that comes with hard earned wisdom. Of working alongside Starr
- 19:13for the track, Jinks said, I'm a huge fan of
- 19:15BlackBerry Smoke and the way they do things and getting
- 19:18to tour with them pretty extensively last summer gave us
- 19:20the opportunity to begin a friendship. I think I found
- 19:23a kindred spirit in Charlie. Our band in BlackBerry Smoke
- 19:27worked so well together, and Charlie is such a good dude.
- 19:30I enjoy talking with him about music and about writing songs.
- 19:32He's a rock star and it was a pleasure and
- 19:34a joy and an honor to write this song with him.
- 19:38Something Wicked This Way Comes, which Cody Jinks wrote by himself,
- 19:41is the song on the project that he considers his favorite.
- 19:44Featuring a thought provoking melody and heart pulsing guitars, the
- 19:48track showcases the deeper side of Jinks, an avid reader,
- 19:51inspired by the nineteen sixty two fantasy novel of the
- 19:54same name by Ray Bradbury. Something Wicked This Way Comes
- 19:57conveys a message that the temptations of good and evil
- 20:00tend to recur. The song could have told the story
- 20:03just as an instrumental, but I love writing lyrics about literature. Jinks,
- 20:08who began his playing thrash metal before cutting his teeth
- 20:11in Honky Tonk Bars, shared this in a press release,
- 20:14and That's why I like metal music so much because
- 20:16there's so many literary illusions on those songs. I'm just
- 20:20having too much fun with that song right now. In Monsters,
- 20:25written by Jinks with Ward Davis, the focus lies on
- 20:27the mind playing tricks, where if one isn't careful, they
- 20:31could fall back into the same dark situation. It's a
- 20:34reminder that people often have to keep running from their demons,
- 20:37whether that be vice or something else. Elsewhere on the album,
- 20:41Jinks finds himself reflect on in his wild years, knowing
- 20:44that against all odds, he and his band have risen
- 20:46from the ashes. Perhaps no other tracks sees Jinks looking
- 20:50back at a younger version of himself. More than the
- 20:52heartfelt closer when Time Didn't Fly. The track finds him
- 20:56having a sense of gratitude, knowing that although aging may
- 20:59be a thief, those early years have given him a
- 21:01new perception and attitude about life. That's actually one of
- 21:06the older songs on the record. We wrote that during COVID.
- 21:09I wrote it with Kendall Marvel and Channel Channing Wilson,
- 21:12and I love those guys. It's such a touching song
- 21:15about not looking forward to as many days as you've
- 21:17already had. Jinks said, and it's a great closer because
- 21:20you're looking at things in retrospect. You're not done yet,
- 21:24but it's important to remember where you've been, and it's
- 21:26important to know where you're going now. E mosey on

- 22:49twenty four, she revealed that the album was five years
- 22:51in the making and was born out of an experience
- 22:53that I had years ago when I did not feel
- 22:56welcomed and it was very clear that I wasn't, she
- 22:59wrote on Instagram the time. But because of that experience,
- 23:02I did a deeper dive into the history of country
- 23:04music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good
- 23:08to see how music can unite so many people around
- 23:10the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of
- 23:13the people who have dedicated so much of their lives
- 23:16educating on our musical history.
- 23:17Speaker 2: She continued.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Beyonce, I added the criticism my face when I first
- 23:21entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations
- 23:24that were put on me. Act too was a result
- 23:27of challenging myself and taking my time to bend and
- 23:30blend genres together to create this.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Body of work.
- 23:34Speaker 1: The album ultimately won her three Grammy Awards at the
- 23:37twenty twenty five ceremony, including Album of the Year, which
- 23:41she had been nominated for four times before finally winning
- 23:43in February. I just feel very full and very honored.
- 23:47It's been many, many years. Just want to thank the Grammys,
- 23:50every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work,
- 23:54she said. Upon accepting the Grammy. She dedicated the wind

- 25:53cities in Georgia, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and more. Next, Shaboozies
- 26:00lamb on social media for trespassing in Montana. Chaboozi is
- 26:04under fire after posting some images from a photo shoot
- 26:07that were taken against the stunning Montana landscape backdrop. The
- 26:11problem while a landowner named Lexi Kottwitz says they were
- 26:15taken on her family's property without her permission. Kottwitz shared
- 26:18an open letter to the Abar song star on Facebook,
- 26:22saying that she was taken aback when she learned that
- 26:24he had crossed onto our private acreage without permission on
- 26:27social media no less, the letter has since been deleted
- 26:30or set to private, but according to Wide Open Country,
- 26:34Cottwitz emphasized that in Montana, private property is more than
- 26:37just land. It's sacred to the people who own it.
- 26:40It's a way of life. Generations of families have cared
- 26:43for it, protected it, and drawn strength and identity from it.
- 26:45The letter reportedly reads, with that comes a deep respect
- 26:49for personal property in the understanding that stewardship and boundaries
- 26:52go hand in hand. She acknowledged that Chaboozi's intent was
- 26:56likely not malicious, but still wanted to emphasize that stepping
- 26:59over on to another person's land without permission as a violation.
- 27:03We welcome you to our big, beautiful state that prides
- 27:05itself on having acres upon acres of public land to enjoy,
- 27:09Cottwitz letter continues. We also welcome you to build relationship
- 27:13with the folks that reside here. Were pretty friendly people.
- 27:16A phone call or door knock would have been the
- 27:18right thing to do, according to Wide Open Country. Another
- 27:21person commented on the original Facebook post, saying Chaboozi had
- 27:25trespassed on their land too. Ask first, we probably would
- 27:28have welcomed you, especially since we like your music and
- 27:31appreciate artistic talent.
- 27:32Speaker 2: That comment reads.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Other commentators pointed out that Shaboozi appears to be smoking
- 27:37a cigarette on one of the photos, something that could
- 27:40have caused property destruction or worse, if an ember had
- 27:43flown into a nearby haystack. But another user brought up
- 27:47the point that much of the state now known as
- 27:49Montana was originally inhabited by indigenous people who were ousted
- 27:53from their land by white settlers of European descent. If
- 27:56I was on land my family owned for generations, I
- 27:59would be focussing my energy on making some reparations for
- 28:02the thievery perpetrated by my ancestors. Anyway, as he Shabbuzzi
- 28:06continues to ride across the success of Where I've Been

- 28:16has also announced his first ever headlining US tour, which
