- 3:51Speaker 3: full of the glory of God because you get to
- 3:57Speaker 3: understand and hear for yourself that God is still in
- 4:00Speaker 3: the healing business. He's still in the miracle business. He's
- 4:04Speaker 3: still in just him being Him in the business. You
- 4:08Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. So I'm so excited to introduce
- 4:12Speaker 3: Javon Cole to you guys today.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Hello, how you doing, Hey, I'm doing good? How are
- 4:18Speaker 4: you today?
- 4:19Speaker 1: The blessed?
- 4:21Speaker 4: That's good? Me too?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Me too, Me too, me too. I'm so glad that
- 4:25Speaker 3: you came on. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Thank you absolutely so.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I want to get to know some things about you,
- 4:34Speaker 3: and of course the audience does. So can't tell me
- 4:38Speaker 3: about your story and how you got here, right.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I got here. That's about the grace of God while
- 4:47Speaker 1: I'm here to even tell a story. And because he
- 4:51Speaker 1: saved me, you know what I'm saying. He saved me
- 4:54Speaker 1: from just just from my health dought. I've been dealing
- 4:58Speaker 1: with with high blood pressure and you know chronic ken
- 5:03Speaker 1: disease that I'm dealing with, you know, so I'm here
- 5:06Speaker 1: for that. I didn't think I had a story to
- 5:09Speaker 1: tell though, you know what I do.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Most people don't.
- 5:14Speaker 3: They don't feel like they do, and they some most
- 5:16Speaker 3: people don't feel like other people want to hear a story.
- 5:18Speaker 4: But that's why we're here.
- 5:21Speaker 3: That's the reason why we we have overcome some things
- 5:25Speaker 3: in our lives.
- 5:25Speaker 4: So yep, okay, So Javan.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Tell us who you are and what does gifted J
- 5:34Speaker 3: three mean to you and what does it represent?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Okay? My name is Javon Kyle. I was born or
- 5:42Speaker 1: born in Homestead on the Mucha based there. I moved
- 5:48Speaker 1: to Panama, well, my family moved to Panama and was
- 5:53Speaker 1: raised there, like from sixth grade when I graduated, so
- 6:00Speaker 1: kind of fast for a little bit of the name
- 6:04Speaker 1: the thing came from, and it was just me being blessed,
- 6:08Speaker 1: gifted and chosen still be here to speak and to
- 6:13Speaker 1: tell my story. I hope he can touch somebody, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 1: So that's what I'm here for.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:22Speaker 3: So what led you into the trucking industry and what
- 6:28Speaker 3: kept you there for twenty six years?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Right? Okay? Uh? Like I said again, a bad relationship,
- 6:37Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And it was kind of
- 6:39Speaker 1: it was taking at me to toe. I knew I
- 6:42Speaker 1: had to get out the street life somewhere one way
- 6:44Speaker 1: or the other, you know what I'm saying. And that breakup,
- 6:49Speaker 1: and I had a homie that came to me rest
- 6:52Speaker 1: in peace, and you know, he put me on in
- 6:55Speaker 1: the truckle world, you know what I'm saying, just to
- 6:57Speaker 1: ride and just to see and travel and see different places,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you know, and learned a lot, you know, just going
- 7:05Speaker 1: to different distribution centers and which it makes on me
- 7:11Speaker 1: all kinds of places. So that that that got me
- 7:16Speaker 1: into the trucking and I just kind of stayed in
- 7:19Speaker 1: from that point.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, okay, So so you dealt with the bad
- 7:28Speaker 3: breakup and you didn't really have a plan or what
- 7:33Speaker 3: you wanted to do with your life. Your friend was like, hey,
- 7:37Speaker 3: I'm in trucking, come rab with me. You got to
- 7:41Speaker 3: see what the ins and outs was what he did,
- 7:45Speaker 3: and you was like, yes, I want to.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Do that, right? That was that's pretty much sums up correctly. Yeah,
- 7:54Speaker 1: that just sums up like that, you know me, because
- 7:56Speaker 1: I ain't even know what that's going to be back
- 7:59Speaker 1: and then so fun because like when they when I
- 8:01Speaker 1: went through treking school back in two thousand, uh you know,
- 8:05Speaker 1: had the down shift. Didn't know how to do that
- 8:07Speaker 1: at all, So I just to float the gears. I'm
- 8:10Speaker 1: floating the gears at this sounds like you gotta reach
- 8:13Speaker 1: your RPMs and just put it in gear without do
- 8:17Speaker 1: them deble question anything, you know what I'm saying. So
- 8:20Speaker 1: I kind of already had it in me and didn't
- 8:22Speaker 1: realize I did, you know tearso mean like these new
- 8:27Speaker 1: trickers they don't have the gears. It's gas and break.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, okay, yeah that would have been mean
- 8:36Speaker 3: because I would have been able to be.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I do I do a five or six whatever the case.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Maybe I can do them, but eighteen no, I wouldn't
- 8:44Speaker 3: have been able to do it.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Ain't gonna lie mead. Okay.
- 8:48Speaker 3: So people often, you know, I gotta read and I
- 8:53Speaker 3: ain't got no glasses on y'all.
- 8:55Speaker 4: The paper is right here, I promise.
- 8:57Speaker 6: So.
- 8:58Speaker 3: So people often see freedom of trucking, but they don't
- 9:02Speaker 3: always see the sacrifices. What were some of the biggest
- 9:06Speaker 3: physical and mental challenges and emotional challenges that you faced
- 9:12Speaker 3: the being.
- 9:12Speaker 1: On the road. Well, I could say that the things
- 9:18Speaker 1: that a lot of truckers don't see is like the
- 9:22Speaker 1: sacrifice we make, plus like being speed away from home,
- 9:27Speaker 1: being with your family if you have it, if you
- 9:29Speaker 1: don't have kids, it's kind of like a perfect career
- 9:31Speaker 1: for you if you like to travel and drive and
- 9:34Speaker 1: all that. It's a perfect career for you if you
- 9:37Speaker 1: like that. But when you got other things going on,
- 9:41Speaker 1: it makes it very very complicated.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Okay, okay, And so what about mental stress? Is it
- 9:52Speaker 3: stressful mentally and is it stressful emotionally?
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yes, because that part, you know what I'm saying, And
- 10:00Speaker 1: the stress of that because it's like a hurry up
- 10:01Speaker 1: and wait, you know, we have to get the load
- 10:04Speaker 1: of my back. We gotta hur up and get somewhere,
- 10:07Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And a lot of times
- 10:09Speaker 1: the traffic and these brokers they just call us like
- 10:12Speaker 1: spam call us, you know what I mean. Just that
- 10:16Speaker 1: just that that being the most uh emotional part of that,
- 10:19Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. That was bothering when you're
- 10:21Speaker 1: trying to sleep, they brother try to drive euse me.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So that that that's the part of that, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 1: that emotional stress from that, just just from the brokers
- 10:32Speaker 1: and because you gotta be on time, and then when
- 10:35Speaker 1: you get there, they waste your time like you just
- 10:38Speaker 1: sitting there waiting and get unloaded. You're like, dang, you know,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I still gotta go here. I said, I go there
- 10:44Speaker 1: and I ain't got no sleep yet, you know what
- 10:46Speaker 1: I'm saying. That's the part that people don't really see,
- 10:50Speaker 1: you know what I mean. That we go through you
- 10:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, and then we get to see
- 10:55Speaker 1: everybody was geting ready to clock out go home, and
- 10:57Speaker 1: we still lie here, you know what I'm saying. They
- 10:59Speaker 1: complain about working local jobs. I'm like, man, what does that?
- 11:02Speaker 1: You know? Y'all? Y'all home every day. Yeah, yeah, you
- 11:05Speaker 1: hold too much pressure. You know. They need to build
- 11:07Speaker 1: trucker to learn how to balance all that, balance their
- 11:11Speaker 1: emotions and their feelings and everything like that. You know.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Yeah, So another question just popped into my head.
- 11:18Speaker 4: So and I always, you know, thought of this.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I always have because I'm the type of person to
- 11:24Speaker 3: just be like, Okay, so if I ain't never if
- 11:26Speaker 3: I wasn't able to get that, or if I wouldn't
- 11:28Speaker 3: have been able to go to the store, And like
- 11:30Speaker 3: a lot of people don't understand how essential truckers really are, right,
- 11:34Speaker 3: So if we didn't we if we walk in the
- 11:38Speaker 3: store right now, I ain't gonna stay a big brand name,
- 11:40Speaker 3: but you know the big brand names, and we walk
- 11:42Speaker 3: in the store and go get some tissue or some tupaste.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Really, the truck is the reason why we can.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Get that stuff because they're bays in the back of
- 11:49Speaker 3: these big brand stores where these trucks pull up and
- 11:52Speaker 3: they have to unload. So if it wasn't for those truckers,
- 11:56Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So when we went through
- 11:58Speaker 3: that whole situation where basically the whole country shut down, really,
- 12:04Speaker 3: you guys are the reason why when we stayed afloat
- 12:07Speaker 3: because you guys, So that was that I want to
- 12:11Speaker 3: speak about. I want you to speak to that because
- 12:13Speaker 3: I think a lot of people don't really pay attention
- 12:16Speaker 3: or you know, at heart, I understand how important truckers
- 12:21Speaker 3: really are, and I what you guys go through. So
- 12:24Speaker 3: can you speak from your heart about how we are
- 12:29Speaker 3: so mindless of not knowing? You know what I'm saying,
- 12:33Speaker 3: the things that we get hard, you guys really.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Do work, right that that's a lot like we don't
- 12:39Speaker 1: have like a trucker appreciation weeks or a truck appreciation day,
- 12:44Speaker 1: you know what I mean? But oh yeah, like stuff
- 12:47Speaker 1: runs out all the time, you know what I'm saying.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Nobody notice life and stuff runs out? Who brings it?
- 12:53Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I was in that straight
- 12:56Speaker 1: deal with the other on operators. We try to go
- 12:58Speaker 1: on strike and try to get all the truckers try
- 13:01Speaker 1: to shut down, but it was not successful just because
- 13:06Speaker 1: there's more company drivers than this on operators. It's gonna
- 13:10Speaker 1: take a whole village for us to do that. But
- 13:14Speaker 1: then I start looking like, man, my money's starting to
- 13:16Speaker 1: fall short. I can't I can't continue to get this.
- 13:19Speaker 1: See with y'all. But you know what I mean, Like
- 13:22Speaker 1: I have to get back out there, you know what
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm saying. But there's a lot of emotional stress. Like
- 13:28Speaker 1: even with truckers, they go through that and they black
- 13:31Speaker 1: man like, you know, people don't notice what we do,
- 13:34Speaker 1: and then they get angry with the government to get
- 13:36Speaker 1: anger with the governor and just want to just go
- 13:39Speaker 1: and just try to run them over, you know what
- 13:41Speaker 1: I mean. Like it's just a lot of emotions with truckers,
- 13:45Speaker 1: you know that we go through on that tip, you know,
- 13:49Speaker 1: because we don't get noticed enough, you know what I'm saying,
- 13:54Speaker 1: until everything runs out, Like even during COVID, you know
- 13:57Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like I was full flared it all
- 14:00Speaker 1: day long, you know what I'm saying, Like my truck
- 14:03Speaker 1: never stopped and I used to run. I was running,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and you know I wouldn't even the police wouldn't even
- 14:10Speaker 1: stop us, you know what I'm saying, because we have
- 14:11Speaker 1: a reefing. Of course that's food grade. So as long
- 14:15Speaker 1: as we ride that, you know, they never stopped us,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you know, but that's stuff everybody else now and shut
- 14:20Speaker 1: you down onside the road, you know what I mean?
- 14:22Speaker 4: Because also, wait, let me, let me stop you real quick.
- 14:26Speaker 3: So what you were talking about is a refrigerated truck
- 14:29Speaker 3: that had those type of goods in it. They wouldn't
- 14:32Speaker 3: stop you because that was like super essential because you
- 14:36Speaker 3: had to get.
- 14:36Speaker 4: That to the stores.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Correct because food food, food was running out to you.
- 14:40Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like food was running out.
- 14:43Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying that a lot of the truckers,
- 14:46Speaker 1: they wouldn't do it. They wuldn't take those loads because
- 14:48Speaker 1: they when they're afraid of the weather or they're afraid
- 14:52Speaker 1: of the mountain grade. Uh, there's a lot of stuff
- 14:56Speaker 1: they're afraid of, you know what I mean. They a
- 14:59Speaker 1: lot of triggers taught that big talk like the out
- 15:01Speaker 1: there like that, But it's a lot of mountain grade
- 15:05Speaker 1: that you got to deal with, especially when like eighty
- 15:07Speaker 1: thousand pounds you loaded. Sometimes you still overloaded. But when
- 15:12Speaker 1: you're like that, that that way of that truck, you
- 15:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like and going to the mountains,
- 15:17Speaker 1: that's crazy, you know what I'm saying. But I was
- 15:19Speaker 1: one of those truckers that I knew the drive had
- 15:22Speaker 1: to be dead. So I get out there and we
- 15:23Speaker 1: did just do the driving my nephew and we got that,
- 15:27Speaker 1: just got it done. I think we even had COVID.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Even at that time, were
- 15:32Speaker 1: still fighting trying to keep him up at times and
- 15:37Speaker 1: I wake him up. You know what I'm saying, lieutendai break,
- 15:40Speaker 1: that's you gotta get up. You know what I'm saying.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You know you can't sleep that long, sleep all day long?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Oh cat? Oh yeah, man, just go get it. You
- 15:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You can't rest like that. You
- 15:54Speaker 1: slept now, Yeah, he sleep his old ten hour break
- 15:59Speaker 1: with the old team.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So that part of that that, you know, a lot
- 16:04Speaker 1: of people to really don't really understand that, you know
- 16:06Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You know, you see them doing you
- 16:08Speaker 1: see little kids doing this. They want us to bortle on.
- 16:10Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. That's cool, but hey, yeah,
- 16:14Speaker 1: they don't don't really acknowledge kids and knowledge that of us.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, what if? Okay?
- 16:20Speaker 3: So and then there's another oput in question, but can
- 16:24Speaker 3: you explain the difference between the on an operator and
- 16:27Speaker 3: a company truck.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Driver the truck driver correct on our operator. It's a
- 16:34Speaker 1: lot of different levels to that on operator, they got
- 16:36Speaker 1: least drivers. You know what I'm saying. On O preator
- 16:40Speaker 1: would be considered owning the truck. And man, I mean
- 16:44Speaker 1: you still make your payments on things of that nature,
- 16:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, but you hold so responsibility
- 16:50Speaker 1: of everything. Feel you gotta pay your fueler taxs, you
- 16:53Speaker 1: gotta you gotta do all that. You know what I'm saying.
- 16:56Speaker 1: You gotta be mindset to that even that's the least
- 16:59Speaker 1: truck because you're least in the truck through maybe the
- 17:02Speaker 1: company you work for, you know what I'm saying. So
- 17:04Speaker 1: the truck really can't go anywhere. You know what I'm saying.
- 17:06Speaker 1: You can't like say, okay, this is entire of working here,
- 17:10Speaker 1: let me take my trust somewhere else. Now. On operators
- 17:13Speaker 1: can do that. You know, we don't want as they
- 17:15Speaker 1: can just go bounce around where we feel like you
- 17:17Speaker 1: go bounce around at and see where them you know
- 17:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying, that's that's where they're chasing. The money
- 17:21Speaker 1: part comes in there get us what we have to do.
- 17:24Speaker 1: So on operator, my job hop a lot, you know
- 17:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying, But that's just normal. That's gonna look
- 17:31Speaker 1: crazy on your application. You know what I'm saying, like, yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: you got different jobs on there. It's crazy, but that's
- 17:38Speaker 1: just what you do. You know what I'm saying. That's
- 17:41Speaker 1: the psycho right, we put it in the day when
- 17:42Speaker 1: we get getting that truck and sending that driver seat
- 17:46Speaker 1: and before we get ready pull off. That's just how
- 17:47Speaker 1: it is with us.
- 17:49Speaker 4: And then so what about.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, come to drive out of their day, have
- 17:57Speaker 1: to stay connected to whatever company, you know what I'm saying.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And I ain't like that because you gotta You don't
- 18:04Speaker 1: get that much time off, you know what I'm saying.
- 18:06Speaker 1: You're still out there a week or so, and then
- 18:07Speaker 1: they don't let you get off two days. You guess
- 18:10Speaker 1: that the two weeks and get maybe three mm hmm.
- 18:13Speaker 1: So your day used to get lesson less and less
- 18:17Speaker 1: days every day, you know what I'm saying. So you
- 18:18Speaker 1: don't really have home time, or you get home you're sleepy.
- 18:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean. You want me. I used
- 18:23Speaker 1: to cut my phone off when I go home.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Operator.
- 18:28Speaker 3: You can set your own schedule, you can set your
- 18:30Speaker 3: own hours, you do you know what I mean? Not
- 18:31Speaker 3: saying that you're not gonna do what I'm saying like
- 18:33Speaker 3: you set them.
- 18:35Speaker 1: But yeah, you set your own pace. Yeah, but the
- 18:37Speaker 1: company get the level there though, that's much work. Lower
- 18:40Speaker 1: get there and they good now they be bothering, But
- 18:43Speaker 1: you gotta get the lowder there too. So yeah, you
- 18:45Speaker 1: can set your own thinking up. How you need to
- 18:48Speaker 1: just set it up?
- 18:49Speaker 4: Okay, okay, all right?
- 18:51Speaker 1: And then.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So when your health begins to change, what was the
- 19:00Speaker 3: experience like? What was that experience like, and how did
- 19:04Speaker 3: it change your perspective on life.
- 19:09Speaker 1: When the health started to change. Man, I really didn't
- 19:14Speaker 1: understand the change. I mean, I you know, my mom
- 19:17Speaker 1: was still wired one way, So I really didn't understand
- 19:20Speaker 1: the change when my health started decline. Knuckers, I really
- 19:22Speaker 1: didn't pay that no attention. Hard ahead, That's what I was.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And I wasn't paying that no attention. I was still
- 19:28Speaker 1: just trying to do what I need to do as
- 19:29Speaker 1: far as being a trucker, as far as being my father,
- 19:32Speaker 1: trying to take care of my fam and you know,
- 19:35Speaker 1: learn the business part of just trekking in general. So
- 19:38Speaker 1: I think after twenty six years of me doing what
- 19:40Speaker 1: I did, I learned how to become a business person,
- 19:43Speaker 1: you know, I learned to be business minded. You know,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I learned how to, you know, do the right thing,
- 19:49Speaker 1: but that I came with failure too, you know what
- 19:51Speaker 1: I'm saying. See a lot of folking like that. That's
- 19:54Speaker 1: one thing I feel like social media don't put on
- 19:55Speaker 1: there that nobody don't put up there, like the failures
- 19:58Speaker 1: are tricking, you know what I'm saying. So I was like, yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 1: I got this money, I made this check. You know,
- 20:03Speaker 1: that's where they got with it. I think that attracted
- 20:06Speaker 1: a lot of people to the truck on world that
- 20:08Speaker 1: understand you know what I mean, And it's sad.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I think that that would that's what would separate you
- 20:15Speaker 3: and make you an amazing coach for truckers because you
- 20:19Speaker 3: know the woes of the business and you can tell
- 20:23Speaker 3: them like listen, yeah, you can make good money out there.
- 20:25Speaker 3: You can make very good money out there, but you
- 20:27Speaker 3: got to take care of your health, like you know
- 20:29Speaker 3: what I'm saying. And I'm an example of that. And
- 20:31Speaker 3: so I think that that would be wonderful if you
- 20:33Speaker 3: just went out and told your story, and you know,
- 20:42Speaker 3: I think I think that you would be very beneficial
- 20:44Speaker 3: to a lot of truckers out there. And I don't
- 20:47Speaker 3: think you know how important you are and why you're
- 20:49Speaker 3: still here, like you have an assignment. That's why this
- 20:53Speaker 3: is called what it's called. That's why your episode is
- 20:55Speaker 3: called what it's called a story of God's glory because
- 20:59Speaker 3: he he blessed you to still be.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Here on purpose.
- 21:03Speaker 3: So can we go into a little bit of what
- 21:06Speaker 3: you went through health wise and how you are here today?
- 21:13Speaker 1: Right? Okay? Health wise? Okay, I was I kept on
- 21:19Speaker 1: getting swoll like I lost slight a weight. I kept
- 21:22Speaker 1: getting swold just and bad habits, bad eating, until like
- 21:30Speaker 1: after like I'm gonna explode, you know what I'm saying
- 21:32Speaker 1: that my body just say like, hey, I had nothing.
- 21:35Speaker 1: My kingdom was like hey bro, we can't process all this,
- 21:38Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So my throat dried out
- 21:41Speaker 1: a lot. I'm thinking I was just dehydrated. So I
- 21:44Speaker 1: used to drink that through gallons of order a day.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I mean, the first gallon, I'm like, dang, I still dry, Like,
- 21:52Speaker 1: ain't no way that mine can still be dry After
- 21:54Speaker 1: the first gallon, you know what I mean. I went
- 21:57Speaker 1: and another one in, so I was just my body
- 21:59Speaker 1: was overloaded with fluids and all kinds of processed foods.
- 22:04Speaker 1: And the laziness mentality I kind of had, you know
- 22:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying, So all that played a factor in that,
- 22:13Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And then when I went
- 22:17Speaker 1: through far As just with the stroke, that really changed
- 22:20Speaker 1: my life, you know what I'm saying, Like God to
- 22:24Speaker 1: me memory lane. I was I Memory Lane for its
- 22:27Speaker 1: whole seven days, like just seeing everything in my life differently,
- 22:31Speaker 1: things I could have did differently, or even some scenes
- 22:35Speaker 1: of my future, you know what I mean. I seen
- 22:38Speaker 1: that too, you know, before I was touched, you know
- 22:42Speaker 1: what I'm saying. In the hospital in the middle of
- 22:46Speaker 1: I before had I seen the hand of God come
- 22:51Speaker 1: down on me. It was real crazy how that happened,
- 22:55Speaker 1: because it's like a big hand. Just I seen the
- 22:58Speaker 1: finger in the pointer of f coming down to my forehead,
- 23:02Speaker 1: knowing darking with my forehead when that beg like that,
- 23:05Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It's just it's just coming
- 23:06Speaker 1: out the side of me, like I'm looking like, Okay,
- 23:08Speaker 1: what's going on? What's gonna happen now? And I was
- 23:13Speaker 1: being forced through a hologram waterfall and I ain't want
- 23:17Speaker 1: to go in now. To me, I thought I was
- 23:19Speaker 1: a grand reaper, you know what I'm saying, Because he
- 23:23Speaker 1: had like a staff or something in his hand, and
- 23:25Speaker 1: that's not God. But this is the other side. I'm
- 23:28Speaker 1: assuming the bad side and taking souls in the hospital,
- 23:32Speaker 1: like I heard, all kinds of people in the hospital
- 23:35Speaker 1: are dying. And I hit a little beeps and the
- 23:36Speaker 1: alarms and I ain't go off in there. I'm like, man,
- 23:39Speaker 1: this thing is real, you know what I mean? Hm,
- 23:43Speaker 1: And I was like, nah, I'm not going to that waterfall.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So I leaned my head back to push myself away
- 23:47Speaker 1: from it. And then when I did that, in the
- 23:49Speaker 1: red light and it just beamed down out the sky
- 23:53Speaker 1: and he ran in the middle of the forehead. And
- 23:55Speaker 1: then when that happened, I woke up and I looked
- 23:58Speaker 1: over with my dad and he just had it's little
- 24:01Speaker 1: like how he survived, and he's he's up and he's breathing. Well,
- 24:05Speaker 1: I wasn't breathing. The thing was still breathing from me.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But I just have my eyes up, just looking like man,
- 24:10Speaker 1: my mouth was wired. Shit. I couldn't talk, you know
- 24:14Speaker 1: what I mean. So that's when I knew I was
- 24:18Speaker 1: chosen to even still be here because my family's actually
- 24:22Speaker 1: planning to my funeral and they just want to get
- 24:24Speaker 1: ready to like pull the plug on me and everything.
- 24:26Speaker 1: So so that's why that was looking crazy and I
- 24:30Speaker 1: just couldn't do but just look at him, so that
- 24:33Speaker 1: I just came in and said, hey, we gotta take
- 24:34Speaker 1: the we gotta take the ventilator out. You know, he's breathing.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I mean, his eyes are open, he's turning his head,
- 24:39Speaker 1: he's looking around. So yeah, that that experience changed my life,
- 24:45Speaker 1: you know what I mean to where I'm at now.
- 24:47Speaker 1: So yeah, it's just come back from that.
- 24:53Speaker 3: So for those of y'all don't know, we're from the
- 24:58Speaker 3: same city, but I ain't know none of that. Like
- 25:01Speaker 3: you just said, I know none of that. We're from
- 25:03Speaker 3: the same city. I've been knowing Javon since middle school,
- 25:08Speaker 3: so but.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I ain't know none of that.
- 25:11Speaker 3: I didn't I didn't know any of that. So if
- 25:12Speaker 3: y'all seen me, my bad if I had my mouth
- 25:14Speaker 3: wide open, because I didn't know none of that. So
- 25:19Speaker 3: but I know how powerful the most how it is.
- 25:23Speaker 3: I know how miracles are happening every day, and a
- 25:27Speaker 3: lot of people do not believe, they don't trust, they
- 25:29Speaker 3: don't think that you know, they could be chosen or
- 25:34Speaker 3: already are chosen and have a mission or for their lives.
- 25:39Speaker 3: But he does it every day. He touches people every day.
- 25:43Speaker 3: He heals people every day. And I know you gotta
- 25:49Speaker 3: be honored to be used to be here here.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, absolutely so.
- 25:58Speaker 3: If you could sit down with your younger self, younger
- 26:02Speaker 3: Javon who had just started trucking, what advice would you
- 26:07Speaker 3: give him about health, family, and life.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Well, if I could have set out myself. You don't
- 26:19Speaker 1: like that. I mean, I know it's gonna be hard headed.
- 26:22Speaker 1: So it's kind of like when you talk to myself like, Okay, hey,
- 26:26Speaker 1: maybe you need to slow down and do this. You
- 26:29Speaker 1: need to pump the brace and not eat out as
- 26:31Speaker 1: processed food. No, it's good. You know I like it too,
- 26:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But you know we can't
- 26:36Speaker 1: keep doing our bodies like that. You know what I mean.
- 26:38Speaker 1: We got to take care of our bodies. You know
- 26:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying. We gotta take care of mental. Our
- 26:42Speaker 1: body is a temple. I have to take care of that.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I just bottom line to it.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I mean, if you don't take care of it, it
- 26:50Speaker 1: ain't gonna take care of you after while that's.
- 26:53Speaker 4: So true, that's so true.
- 26:57Speaker 3: How did you experience lead you to create Gifted Jay three?
- 27:02Speaker 3: And what impact are you hoping.
- 27:04Speaker 4: To make now?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Jay Shine? Trucking was my first one, right that and
- 27:12Speaker 1: that that that still included my kids too, Like my
- 27:16Speaker 1: kids always been my inspiration. You know what I'm saying,
- 27:19Speaker 1: to let me go a hood order, you know, to
- 27:22Speaker 1: to get out there and do what I need to
- 27:23Speaker 1: do for them. You know what I'm saying. I'm not
- 27:25Speaker 1: asking them to be truckers. You know. That's why I
- 27:28Speaker 1: steered my boys away from that, you know, both and
- 27:31Speaker 1: I astually went to the military my daughters when I
- 27:35Speaker 1: kind of still got to keep a hold on too.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But yeah, it's just you know, it's it's just a
- 27:43Speaker 1: lot that came with that and a lot of my experience,
- 27:47Speaker 1: you seemed, just being a trucker, you know what I'm saying,
- 27:50Speaker 1: it's very emotional. I mean, I don't know a trucker
- 27:54Speaker 1: that I would say that's not you know what I mean,
- 27:57Speaker 1: Because it is we have we have different challenges every
- 28:00Speaker 1: day every day. Maybe there's always different challenges. If you
- 28:05Speaker 1: have the same challenge and guess what you get your
- 28:08Speaker 1: tell about that truck. You go sit down somewhere period
- 28:13Speaker 1: right right when you feel like you know more in
- 28:17Speaker 1: the truck and world or whatever, then it's time to
- 28:19Speaker 1: get out of it, go find something thats to do.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Yeah, you think you know it all right.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Because you ain't gonna never know it all every day.
- 28:27Speaker 1: It's just just a different challenge. Like I don't drove
- 28:30Speaker 1: flat bed I done drove the refrigerator trailers. I don't
- 28:34Speaker 1: drove tankers. You know what I'm saying, Uh, down did all.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I just didn't do the double and triples. But you
- 28:41Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, I had it on my license.
- 28:44Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I drove all different trucks
- 28:46Speaker 1: in the trucking industry.
- 28:48Speaker 4: What is a double lane triple? Because I don't know
- 28:50Speaker 4: what that is?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Well, double and triple. It's like a truck pulling like
- 28:54Speaker 1: two trailers behind it. Okay, like maybe maybe like you
- 28:57Speaker 1: see fed X you know I see fedes two little
- 29:00Speaker 1: trailers behind it. Oh yeah, if you go up north
- 29:05Speaker 1: like Michigan, all that you're gonna see like two fifty
- 29:08Speaker 1: three foot trailers behind each other.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Oh okay, that makes it.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Along like a you know kind of similar like a
- 29:14Speaker 1: train kind of but that's just on the turnpipe where
- 29:17Speaker 1: they do that at I never heard.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Of that time though, So it's time every day you
- 29:22Speaker 4: really do. Okay.
- 29:26Speaker 3: So what would you say to someone who's going through
- 29:30Speaker 3: a health challenge or feels like life has knocked them down?
- 29:35Speaker 4: What would you say to.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Them, Well, you have to learn from what knocks you down.
- 29:42Speaker 1: From one, you have to learn from what not you down. See,
- 29:45Speaker 1: a lot of people always think like when you're getting
- 29:48Speaker 1: knocked down, like it's like some type of punishment type deal. Like, Nah,
- 29:51Speaker 1: it's not that. It's just something in that area where
- 29:54Speaker 1: you keep getting knocked down that that you gotta you
- 29:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, You gotta keep cript so you
- 29:59Speaker 1: know say it could be relationship ships, that can be
- 30:01Speaker 1: a relationship with your kids or whatever it may be.
- 30:05Speaker 1: You know, it'll keep repeating herself to you. Actually learn
- 30:08Speaker 1: because I learned what's going on. So even with young truckers,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I would tell them to slow down and just you know, yeah,
- 30:18Speaker 1: staff social media a little bit, try to be out
- 30:21Speaker 1: down the road. You know what I'm saying, You gotta
- 30:22Speaker 1: focus on your craft. You know what I'm saying, I mean,
- 30:26Speaker 1: you can't be out here disposing things. I mean, you
- 30:28Speaker 1: can't when you don't even can't dispose your own so
- 30:31Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So you have to sweep
- 30:33Speaker 1: around your own front door.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Hm hmm, yeah, and and and and take care of
- 30:39Speaker 3: your health. Don't signs that you get you know what
- 30:43Speaker 3: I mean? Yeah, what does the future look like for
- 30:48Speaker 3: Javon Cobb and get the JA three's.
- 30:52Speaker 1: It's very promising. It looks great right now. I mean
- 30:55Speaker 1: I don't I don't know exactly where that's gonna take me.
- 30:59Speaker 1: It's just new life from the beginning. Yeah, just knew everything. Travel,
- 31:07Speaker 1: helping out other young drivers because like I said, I
- 31:10Speaker 1: my driver training. I told you, I'm a teacher, so
- 31:12Speaker 1: I do teach, Like I even used to set up
- 31:15Speaker 1: to the yard and teach people how to back up.
- 31:18Speaker 1: For some reason, females are always like the ones that
- 31:21Speaker 1: were good at driving, you know what I'm saying, as
- 31:24Speaker 1: far as like backing up and parallel parking.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Because attention, that's that's wild.
- 31:30Speaker 1: We're teachable, Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's me. And we hard
- 31:34Speaker 1: here like yeah, I just get up on it and
- 31:36Speaker 1: just do what to do. But yeah, women are more
- 31:38Speaker 1: passionate with the drive part, ma getting nervous. You know
- 31:42Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I should train some of them too,
- 31:44Speaker 1: like you and just that part of that, you know,
- 31:47Speaker 1: like driving part. They got it, you know what I'm saying.
- 31:50Speaker 1: So it came not that neither. I said, Okay, let's
- 31:54Speaker 1: do this thick shift. Now, let say how that works.
- 31:57Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. They did that too, So
- 31:59Speaker 1: I was amazed women drivers.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Yeah, and some good ones out though.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Okay, so before we close, you know the title of
- 32:12Speaker 3: my podcast is Chasing the Yes. What does chasing the
- 32:15Speaker 3: yes mean to you? And we about to wrap it
- 32:18Speaker 3: up because I'll.
- 32:19Speaker 1: See you chasing the yes? Yeah, yeah, it means a
- 32:25Speaker 1: lot to me. I mean, you have to chase the yes,
- 32:28Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, because God gonna tell you
- 32:30Speaker 1: when it's time for you to chase your yes and
- 32:33Speaker 1: do what you need to do, you know what I mean.
- 32:35Speaker 1: So it all functions with that. You know, you can
- 32:38Speaker 1: have God in your lot too, you know what I'm saying.
- 32:40Speaker 1: You gotta read your Bible, you gotta learn the Owner's
- 32:43Speaker 1: Manual of your life, per se. You know what I'm saying.
- 32:47Speaker 1: O caf you can't get that, then you can say, hey,
- 32:50Speaker 1: be chasing, I got a better route. Now he's a
- 32:53Speaker 1: trucker at that and he don't even know what to do,
- 32:55Speaker 1: like he just he's out there, he doing what he
- 32:58Speaker 1: keeps doing. But he's not chasing me thing but the minds,
- 33:01Speaker 1: you know, he's not doing that for his life. He's
- 33:03Speaker 1: not doing nothing for his own benefits. He's bet rode
- 33:05Speaker 1: on birthdays, holidays all the time. I mean, I do
- 33:08Speaker 1: that too, But you gotta learn, you gotta learn stewardship somewhere.
- 33:13Speaker 1: H m hmm.
- 33:15Speaker 4: I think that you being.
- 33:20Speaker 3: You're in the in the place to be an amazing
- 33:23Speaker 3: example to a lot of people.
- 33:26Speaker 4: And there's a lot of people that would literally.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Be amazed by your story, be amazed by God's grace
- 33:39Speaker 3: in your life, be amazed how calm you are. You're
- 33:45Speaker 3: so super colm and scary.
- 33:50Speaker 4: But that's yeah, that's beautiful. It's beautiful.
- 33:56Speaker 3: And so I have a bonus. I have a couple
- 33:59Speaker 3: bonus questions. Do do you feel like you got it
- 34:01Speaker 3: in you?
- 34:01Speaker 4: Like three? Okay, all right, So.
- 34:05Speaker 3: What's the funniest thing that you have ever happened to you?
- 34:09Speaker 3: Off the trucker on the road, like the funniest thing
- 34:12Speaker 3: you can think of, Javan the funniest thing, the funniest thing.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Wow, let's see, oh traveling down the road. Uh, let's
- 34:26Speaker 1: see the funniest thing ever. See anything funny out there?
- 34:31Speaker 1: That's kind of hard to even grass. I can't even
- 34:33Speaker 1: think of nothing funny.
- 34:36Speaker 3: We'll go to the next So, okay, what's one thing
- 34:39Speaker 3: every truck driver should do to protect their health?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Oh, get your refrigerator. How you're refrigerating your truck. You
- 34:51Speaker 1: go to wholesale market somewhere and you buy all your
- 34:55Speaker 1: healthy foods from there and leave that truck stop for
- 34:59Speaker 1: a long period.
- 35:01Speaker 3: So you would say, like meal prep Like meal prep
- 35:03Speaker 3: your food so you'll be able to have you what
- 35:06Speaker 3: you need healthily to eat, so you don't have to
- 35:10Speaker 3: eat the truck stop fool all the time, you know
- 35:12Speaker 3: what I'm saying. And really it really is really moderation.
- 35:15Speaker 3: You gotta just pay attention to what you're doing.
- 35:17Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 35:17Speaker 3: If you are going to have a meal, playing your
- 35:20Speaker 3: meal like, okay, so on Thursdays, every Thursdays, I'm gonna
- 35:23Speaker 3: go to this you know what I'm saying. Or a
- 35:24Speaker 3: restaurant that is good for me, But the rest of
- 35:26Speaker 3: the day is our meal prep, you know what I'm saying.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Or and it could be something that's good that you
- 35:31Speaker 3: would like to eat or whatever. But listening to me,
- 35:33Speaker 3: ain't no truck.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I'm just saying.
- 35:35Speaker 1: My truck had I had a two eyes, I had
- 35:38Speaker 1: like I had all kinds of stuff my truck, you
- 35:40Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So it except like a little
- 35:43Speaker 1: miniature apartment. You know what I'm saying. So I had
- 35:45Speaker 1: to kicking stuff and now you know, help my own
- 35:47Speaker 1: little oil things out. Okay, that's yea. You can have
- 35:56Speaker 1: a refrigerator. Can't be had to have to.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Right right? Okay.
- 36:03Speaker 3: And then this is the last one. What's one lesson
- 36:06Speaker 3: Trucking taught you that you will never ever forget.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Okay, uh, I'll never ever forget it. Taught me discipline,
- 36:21Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Taught me discipline far as
- 36:26Speaker 1: just how I think and how I can process things.
- 36:29Speaker 1: So more discipline from me.
- 36:32Speaker 4: Oh, your phone is breaking back, your phone is breaking up.

- 37:11Speaker 1: in different ways, not the healthy way, but just to
- 37:14Speaker 1: manage myself better now and then the health thing that

- 38:44Speaker 1: truck side. You know what I'm saying from man, it's
- 38:47Speaker 1: just crazy. But anyways, you just just take care of
