- 1:10Speaker 2: I was watching Trip Martin last year. We were in St. Martin,
- 1:15Speaker 2: very nice. I love Saint Martin. You guys had a
- 1:18Speaker 2: good time. I think you got proposed to a couple
- 1:20Speaker 2: of times, didn't you. And that's when somebody told me, okay,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I still be sitting here, you know what you say that,
- 1:31Speaker 3: But I have a feeling you are more selective than
- 1:34Speaker 3: than the majority of the people.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I have a standard you have well, you know they
- 1:39Speaker 4: always say about standards, standards, If your standards are too high,
- 1:43Speaker 4: lower them.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Totally kidding, by the way, that's what That's what my
- 1:45Speaker 2: wife did. I'm just saying, Oh, come on, hold on,
- 1:50Speaker 2: hold on.
- 1:51Speaker 4: The case for me.
- 1:52Speaker 2: You cannot say we're just you know what he said,
- 1:56Speaker 2: your wife did not lower her standards is teasing. You're
- 2:01Speaker 2: a prince. Thank you. I would date you. Yeah, oh yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'm sure she does. Yeah. She always said.
- 2:07Speaker 3: My wife loves to say to people, like when they'll
- 2:09Speaker 3: ask for pictures and stuff and oh he's so funny,
- 2:11Speaker 3: and she'll say, yeah, live with it, just live with it.
- 2:15Speaker 2: A good point. A question, how long have you been married?
- 2:20Speaker 3: We have been married since twenty sixteen, so seven years. Okay,
- 2:24Speaker 3: we've been together ten Okay, so you're ten. How good
- 2:26Speaker 3: are you at math?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Incredibly talented Nancy? How many years were you married twenty four?
- 2:33Speaker 2: I was married forty six. YEP, I haven't up down.
- 2:37Speaker 5: It's always feels I don't know's.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Twenty So that's ninety years. Here's ninety years of marital
- 2:43Speaker 3: experience coming to me right now.
- 2:44Speaker 2: We know it all, you do, know it? Change the
- 2:47Speaker 2: subject because I a great success.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Well, you know, so when I went on So I
- 2:53Speaker 3: was on Trista's season of the Bachelorette before they made
- 2:55Speaker 3: me the Bachelor. And I will say I still have
- 2:58Speaker 3: some of the greatest friendships of my life that I
- 3:00Speaker 3: made from my time on the Bachelorette. And I love
- 3:03Speaker 3: to see the three of you together from the Golden Bachelor.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You know.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Obviously, unfortunately that relationship didn't see, you know, the light
- 3:11Speaker 3: of day for too long. When we when we had
- 3:14Speaker 3: heard the news about the two of them splitting up,
- 3:16Speaker 3: and I remember saying, gosh, you know the reasoning behind it?
- 3:19Speaker 2: What the public reasoning behind it?
- 3:21Speaker 3: Which I'm you know, I know you guys probably know
- 3:23Speaker 3: way more than I did, But I remember thinking at
- 3:24Speaker 3: the time, I was like, when you have grandkids, of
- 3:27Speaker 3: course you're not going to uproot yourself and move across
- 3:30Speaker 3: the country for some.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Dude or some I got to disagree with you, you
- 3:34Speaker 2: would have, huh, because I know somebody's going to pick
- 3:39Speaker 2: a SoundBite out of this. Sure if I met the
- 3:42Speaker 2: right guy, I would have my home his home.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I would go and then our home, right, I agree
- 3:52Speaker 5: with that. I would be chuse that's what airplanes were
- 3:55Speaker 5: made for. I would go and visit my kids every
- 3:58Speaker 5: couple of weeks, my grandkids, yep.
- 4:00Speaker 2: But I would make a home with my house.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I would have done no, I honestly, that's that's exactly
- 4:05Speaker 3: what I said when we talked about this one time before.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I had said that.
- 4:09Speaker 3: At the time, I was like, God, I would think,
- 4:11Speaker 3: why can't you stay where you're at? And then you know,
- 4:14Speaker 3: maybe a week on a week together, you know, and
- 4:17Speaker 3: you find a place that.
- 4:18Speaker 2: You can't have a media it's meant to be and
- 4:19Speaker 2: you're meant to be together. That can be working. You
- 4:22Speaker 2: always can work it out, exactly.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, I just wish that would have happened.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I do too, But it's hard to work out if
- 4:32Speaker 2: someone's working full time and isn't ready to move.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Right well in the public eye, you know, there is
- 4:39Speaker 3: when there's scrutiny on you, and you know, I remember,
- 4:42Speaker 3: you know, even yeah, when I was a bachelor, I
- 4:44Speaker 3: remember going into you know, Kroger and seeing my name
- 4:48Speaker 3: on the cover with a with a.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Rumor, and I'm like, oh, what the hell's going on?
- 4:51Speaker 3: You know. He was like everything is like you know,
- 4:54Speaker 3: everything is like, you know, trying to crack the code.
- 4:56Speaker 2: So I get it.
- 4:57Speaker 3: That puts added pressure on it too, you know, And
- 4:59Speaker 3: so we the benefit from, you know, coming off of
- 5:02Speaker 3: that show.
- 5:02Speaker 2: And I think of myself that way, coming off of
- 5:04Speaker 2: trist I had so much fun. I had so much fun.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I had so much fun with the friends
- 5:10Speaker 3: I made off the off of trist the season because
- 5:12Speaker 3: I think it also starts at the top and I
- 5:14Speaker 3: and I do think that that Gary did a good
- 5:16Speaker 3: job of this too, where it was you know, he
- 5:19Speaker 3: he wanted everyone to be friends too, you know, just
- 5:21Speaker 3: like Trista did. Just like I did on my season.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I didn't promote the back I didn't promote the badgering
- 5:26Speaker 3: and stuff. I promoted the Kumbay.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but we were big.
- 5:31Speaker 3: You guys are big because you're all still kumban.
- 5:35Speaker 2: We are. That's not a verb. Yes, took, I wasn't.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I sold the most cookies of anybody in my troop.
- 5:50Speaker 2: You guys were all girl scouts. I dropped out. I
- 5:53Speaker 2: was brownie. I never made it.
- 5:54Speaker 4: My mother, my mother was the girl Scout leader and
- 5:58Speaker 4: she made me she.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Was I'm a guy. Were you a boy Scout? I was?
- 6:07Speaker 2: I was actually almost the youngest Eagle Scout in the
- 6:09Speaker 2: state Scout. Were you an Eagle Scout? I did not
- 6:15Speaker 2: finish it was an Eagle Scout. It is a It's
- 6:19Speaker 2: a huge accomplie for anybody who's out there listening. If
- 6:22Speaker 2: you're a boy Scout become an Eagle Scout. Just love it. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 2: they really.
- 6:27Speaker 3: It's I actually getting my five year old into uh,
- 6:31Speaker 3: into Cub Scouts right now. Yeah, we're starting this fall.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You know what you learn so much? Do you like
- 6:39Speaker 2: to camp? I am going to have to remember how
- 6:42Speaker 2: to do it. I'm not either. My idea of camping
- 6:48Speaker 2: is no phone in the room, phone in the room, right,
- 6:52Speaker 2: but still on a TV. No. Yeah, that's how my
- 6:57Speaker 2: family got started camping. Seriously. My oldest was a Cub
- 7:01Speaker 2: Scout and my husband was a den leader, and we
- 7:06Speaker 2: as a family went camping and I never camped. Oh
- 7:12Speaker 2: you have to do it a lot. Yeah, and now
- 7:13Speaker 2: I love to camp. Do you really? Oh? Yeah, I
- 7:16Speaker 2: still do it.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Oh yeah, it's not my thing. Wait a minute, I
- 7:27Speaker 6: don't massage save snakes, you know.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Snakes and spiders. Man, I can do without those. I
- 7:34Speaker 2: am done. You know what if the rule number one
- 7:37Speaker 2: when you go camping zip zip it. Well, in this case,
- 7:43Speaker 2: it's zip your tent. Just keep it zipped. When you're
- 7:47Speaker 2: out of the tent, keep it zipped. And it's no problem.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Last time I went camping, my wife and I went
- 8:03Speaker 3: camping with some friends and they actually, you talk about
- 8:05Speaker 3: how far camping has come. Like we had a blow
- 8:08Speaker 3: up movie theater going, we had we.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Made homemade donuts. Yes, yeah, there you go. That's even
- 8:15Speaker 2: a better way to go. Yeah, I mean I like showers. Yes,
- 8:22Speaker 2: make sure listen, here's your primer if you go camping,
- 8:27Speaker 2: wear flip flops in the shower because you don't want
- 8:30Speaker 2: to foot fungus. This is good to know. Good to know.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Bring the doring fire starters. Yep. Bring lots of warm
- 8:38Speaker 2: clothes because it gets cold at night. Bears, hang, here's
- 8:45Speaker 2: a tree. Yes, there's all kinds of things that you
- 8:51Speaker 2: so much here at the almost famous O G podcast,
- 8:55Speaker 2: Who knew the thing I would say is, don't need
- 8:58Speaker 2: a lot of fire bread the day before you.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, you know the whole thing about a bear
- 9:04Speaker 3: shit in the woods right.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Every time it comes. You can stay out of my bathroom.
- 9:12Speaker 2: It's so funny. You know, you guys are podcast machines now,
- 9:16Speaker 2: aren't you.
- 9:17Speaker 4: I'm not they are though I've been off the podcast,
- 9:21Speaker 4: but yeah, they run the show.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Podcasting is fun. You know what. People ride in and
- 9:28Speaker 2: tell you things that you never ever fight. You would
- 9:32Speaker 2: hear the one want our opinions. Sometimes we look at it.
- 9:37Speaker 2: We don't agree every time, but we'll look at the
- 9:38Speaker 2: other guy. Good luck. I have a question, Well, I
- 9:44Speaker 2: have a question.
- 9:46Speaker 7: Do you think that people when they call in do
- 9:49Speaker 7: you think it's sort of the same as texting, Like
- 9:52Speaker 7: they're not present, they're not in person, they don't.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Have to look at you. I don't think so they
- 9:58Speaker 2: feel brave to say hey, and then they give you
- 10:03Speaker 2: some No. I think they tell their I think it's
- 10:06Speaker 2: quite the opposite. I think because it's anonymous, they tell
- 10:10Speaker 2: you the deep, dark secrets. We had won a couple
- 10:14Speaker 2: of weeks ago on our podcast, Susan and I did
- 10:17Speaker 2: everything we could do not to laugh. And I won't
- 10:20Speaker 2: go into it in detail, but someone was going through
- 10:22Speaker 2: this incredibly long story about their relationship, and and we're
- 10:28Speaker 2: reading it, we're thinking, oh my god, this poor person.
- 10:31Speaker 2: What are they going to do?
- 10:33Speaker 4: Then?
- 10:35Speaker 2: And then at the end the person said I've only
- 10:38Speaker 2: known them a month, and bothos were like.
- 10:46Speaker 8: Deep, like you've been together twelve years really, and they
- 10:52Speaker 8: asking what to do and whether they should be together,
- 10:56Speaker 8: and and of course first thing come out of my
- 10:58Speaker 8: mouth was you've been together a month.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, if.
- 11:01Speaker 3: You're already questioning it that much, it's just probably no,
- 11:04Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like, let's just move along
- 11:06Speaker 3: and people share.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Some things that they just want to know what we've had.
- 11:10Speaker 2: We've had people write in and tell us how our
- 11:14Speaker 2: advice helped them. Oh that's so nice.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Well that you two are like really fun and you
- 11:19Speaker 3: do have great experiences. And then I've seen the vibe
- 11:22Speaker 3: you guys have with the three of you. It's like
- 11:24Speaker 3: it is this would be a great show too.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I would like to like to run our own like
- 11:28Speaker 2: say whatever we want.
- 11:30Speaker 8: Sometimes we're getting a little closer to breaking some rules.
- 11:33Speaker 8: So and we get more feedback when we talk about
- 11:37Speaker 8: us and not all business.
- 11:39Speaker 2: But let me say something about Nancy that people don't know.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Here we go, we're going to talk about everybody holds
- 11:48Speaker 4: your breath.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Just hear something about Nancy. Susan and I are rather vociferous,
- 11:55Speaker 2: vocal outspoker, all those all those words. Nancy sits back quietly.
- 12:01Speaker 2: But if you wait, Nancy one out in the brilliant
- 12:06Speaker 2: brilliance and it's funny and it's heartfelt and it's brilliant.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I just don't give her a chance a lot, and
- 12:13Speaker 2: I just say wait.
- 12:15Speaker 7: And then I use an expletive and then I.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Say that, and then I go, it's my charm, say something.
- 12:27Speaker 2: And then it burnin and she's in the back. We're lost.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It's some island. Oh my god. I can't make this up.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And you know what that it builds memories. Well, that's
- 12:37Speaker 2: how friendships are made.
- 12:38Speaker 4: And we're already truly going on the show on the
- 12:43Speaker 4: Golden Bachelor was the best blessing truly for me, and
- 12:49Speaker 4: I think I can speak for both of these these
- 12:52Speaker 4: two as well, that we never expected the experience to
- 12:56Speaker 4: be as wonderful as it was. And it's a lasting friendship.
- 13:02Speaker 4: It's not like the show was over. We talk every day,
- 13:06Speaker 4: every three or four days or whatever.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Oh, come on that at least six times. I love it,
- 13:14Speaker 2: But truly there's witson from Nancy. She's absolutely right. The
- 13:19Speaker 2: friendships that we have. I know that I could call
- 13:23Speaker 2: either one of these two and say I need you
- 13:26Speaker 2: I have and they're there and they say, we're the closest.
- 13:30Speaker 2: We still talk to all the ladies the same. I'm
- 13:37Speaker 2: talking a lot to Joan. I want her leftovers.
- 13:39Speaker 7: No, we are all going to get a chance at that.
- 13:43Speaker 7: But I think going on this show, I don't think that.
- 13:47Speaker 2: All of us.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Expected this, and so it was kind of a surprise
- 13:54Speaker 4: and we were like, oh my.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Gosh, it's the best product of doing it. We are
- 13:59Speaker 3: going to take quick break here with Kathy, Susan and
- 14:02Speaker 3: Nancy from The Golden Bachelor, and we'll be back in
- 14:06Speaker 3: just a little bit with some more stick around.
