- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome back to the Live Well Podcast.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Today I have a little riff with you.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm gonna do this short little mini sode basically on how trauma affects your cycle and your hormones.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: We're talking PMS, amenorrhea, PCOS, fertility, endometriosis, all of that and the effect that trauma has on it.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: So let's go ahead and dive in.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: You guys know there's always an emotional component to physical manifestations like amenorrhea, PCOS, fertility, endo, all of that.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: And so we're gonna get into the nakety gritty.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Basically, cortisol is to blame for all of this.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: So when cortisol is high, it blocks progesterone because in order to release cortisol, it has to take away from progesterone.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: And then you also get issues with pregnanolone, which leads to more cycle issues, weight gain, and the libido.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And you need progesterone because progesterone is needed to boost metabolism, to lower inflammation, but also fertility and preventing miscarriages.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So basically, what happens is all of this cortisol is in your body because trauma has not been resolved, trauma has not been released.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Constant trauma equals constant stress equals constant cortisol.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Not to mention also the everyday stresses on top of the trauma.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Now, if you think you don't have trauma, please go back and listen to the trauma episode on my podcast about how everyone has trauma because people think trauma has to be some really intense abuse, whether that's physical, emotional, or sexual.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: But trauma can be someone said something, I know a coach told you you weren't enough playing soccer when you were seven.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: That is enough.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: That is trauma that can still be housed in your body, and your body will continue to react to trauma until it is released, because trauma is energy in motion.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna continue to manifest in your physical symptoms, in your hormones until you release it.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: But go listen to that episode to understand trauma.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: And then you're gonna add in all the everyday stresses of, you know, job or managing kids or pets or relationships or everything like that.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: So all of this stress, all of this cortisol raises estrogen, decreases progesterone, right?
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Because it blocks progesterone.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: In order to release cortisol, you have to block progesterone, and your body will always prioritize cholesterol uh not cholesterol, cortisol because it thinks it's running from a tiger, right?
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Because it doesn't know the difference between running from a tiger and the trauma you experienced in grade school, maybe about you know whether it was a relationship or bullying or whatever it was, right?
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: It's all this stress, raises estrogen, decreases progesterone, and leads to more cycle issues, hormone issues, whether it's fertility, endo, PCOS, and all that.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I wanted to remind you guys that Soul Ascension is now open until the end of October.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: I'm so excited for this program.

- 4:35SPEAKER_00: So it is time to come home.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Check out the description box for more and for all the details.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: If you have any questions about it, definitely send me a DM.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: And with that, let's get back to the episode.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: And not to mention, we have the feminine aspect, right?
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So if we're not feeling loved, if we don't love ourselves, we have a lack of self-love, um, if we're looking for love in another people or validation from other people, then we're not feeling safe in ourselves.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: If we are not feeling safe, what gets released?
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Cortisol! Our good old friend cortisol.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: So we're not feeling safe in ourselves.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Maybe we think we're not enough or we're not pretty enough or thin enough or you know, we've got acne, we've got whatever, which the acne is being caused by your hormones, so it's adding another layer to the fire, right?
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: We're not feeling safe.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Maybe we're also not feeling safe in our job, in our relationships, because we don't have a you know good sense of worth, so we're looking for validation, we're afraid we're gonna be rejected or abandoned, and then the pandemic is, and then we're not not feeling safe in our jobs, etc.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: So then the cortisol goes up, and then it fucks our cycle even more, right?
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So we have that, and then we have not being in your feminine.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: So not being in your feminine raises your cortisol.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: So then we have another layer.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: So we have the feminine raising your cortisol, we have the trauma raising your cortisol, we have every stresses raising your cortisol, and their cortisol is messing up your hormones, which is messing up your progesterone, your estrogen, your pregnanolone, which is affecting your fertility, your ability to have a regular painless cycle.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Because new slash, if you're new to me and my content, PMS is not normal, not something you should be living with.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: You know, it's also gonna be affecting endo and PCOS and all of this.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: So, in order to fix all this, you need to release trauma, you need to manage your cortisol by releasing trauma, but also releasing and managing cortisol in your day-to-day life, and you need to get into your feminine, right?
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Because menstrual disorders, anything to do with reproductive, is an indication of also a difficulty accepting your own femininity.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: You may have experienced a negative relationship with your mom.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Um, you may have had a negative perception of women or yourself and your body growing up, and so you have these limiting beliefs that are stuck in your subconscious about women and who you are, and that you know, menstruation should be shameful or dirty, or that the feminine body should be shameful and not celebrated.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: You're not comfortable with your own sensuality or your own being intimate with yourself.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Definitely go back and listen to my orgasm episode if you haven't already.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, or you're undergoing constant self-criticism or not being able to stand up for yourself.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: All this is tied to menstruation and your anything to do with reproductive issues, right?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Or not feeling comfortable in your body and in yourself.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Like this is huge, especially for getting a constant, not a constant, but like a regular um painless cycle, like amenorrhea.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: You are not confident enough in yourself as a woman.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: So your body's like, well, if Liv's not confidence or woman, I'm not gonna have a cycle, which is like the thing, like you know, when we think about women femininity, like having a regular cycle is something that obviously we want.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: So you have to think about are you demanding on yourself?
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: Are you putting perfectionism on yourself?
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Are you a hard person?
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Is your life a struggle?
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Do you dislike yourself?
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: All of this is gonna be tied to that.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, like PMS pain in general or any kind of endo pain is a rejection of your femininity and your feminine process.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: So feeling uneasy or trapped or confused or anxious or angry or doubt or trust in yourself and your beauty and whether are you holding back on yourself or are you fully stepping into that fullest expression of yourself?
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Are you owning your power?
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Are you giving it to outside influences?
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Are you scared of being judged?
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: All of this is tied to trauma, femininity, and your cycle.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So I hope this it really explains how trauma basically messes up your hormones, your PMS, your cycle, endo, fertility, and all that, and why it's super important when we're talking about fertility, when we're talking about creating a painless cycle, when we're talking about PCOS and endo menoria, you need to release the trauma.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: You need to get into your feminine, and you need to cultivate deep self-love for yourself.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: If you're constantly rejecting yourself, you're constantly gonna have issues in your reproductive system.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: And if you're not feeling safe in yourself and in your situation and in your life, you're gonna have reproductive issues, right?
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Because that's really in your sacral and in your root area, right?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: That's where our ovaries are, that's where our uterus is.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: You need to heal all of this.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: So I hope you enjoyed this little short uh mini sod on how it affects it because this is really important to understand when it comes to healing your hormones.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: It's not just about chucking supplements at it because the supplements are not gonna work forever, or you're still going to have issues.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: So with that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: If you have more topic ideas for these little mini sods, let me know, and I will see you guys in the next one.
