  Speaker 2: Well, I mean at this time of year, at starting too,

  Speaker 2: I think you know you're you're obviously going to have

  Speaker 2: a I don't know, I guess the best way to

  Speaker 2: put it would be a salary cap. And you're gonna,

  Speaker 2: you know, in your own mind, you're you know, looking

  Speaker 2: at returning players for your team and you know, getting

  Speaker 2: a sense of where they're going to fit into to

  Speaker 2: next year's team, you know, relative to you know, can

  Speaker 2: this guy be a starter for me next year at

  Speaker 2: this particular position or what type of an investment you know,

  Speaker 2: are we going to make when the season's over or

  Speaker 2: as the season's getting closer to being over. You know,

  Speaker 2: you're not surprised when the portal day opens, you know,

  Speaker 2: like we're especially obviously with your own retainment of players.

  Speaker 2: So I think you're having a lot of conversations about

  Speaker 2: the team at what number. And then you're obviously talking

  Speaker 2: a lot about schedule, a lot about international players that

  Speaker 2: you think potentially could be in play. And I think

  Speaker 2: that's probably a lot of what you're talking about.

  Speaker 1: Six years ago, January eighteenth was twenty twenty, and you

  Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, Kevin's a great coach. They it's got

  Speaker 2: great staff, and I think they got a Yeah, he's

  Speaker 2: level he's been able to win at a couple of

  Speaker 2: places and the pedigree, So yeah, anytime that Yukon and

  Speaker 2: big deal. You got two of the you know, two

  Speaker 2: of the top top ten brands easy in college basketball.

  Speaker 2: I think it's a game that you know, it'll be

  Speaker 2: fun when you know, when when both programs are at

  Speaker 2: there are at their peak or competing, you know, at

  Speaker 2: the top of the sport, it makes it even more special,

  Speaker 2: which is you know where where Kevin has him back,

  Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got like nine transfers on his team, but

  Speaker 1: he also has a couple of young guys which was

  Speaker 1: interesting to me. The freshman of Caden Lewis, you know,

  Speaker 1: assistant tournam a Ratio. I think he's third in the
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: league behind Silas and another player, and also Bryce Lindsay.

  Speaker 1: He's a red shirt sophomore. He's a guard and he
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: makes a lot of threes. So I mean, to have
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: young guys contributing like that, that has to bode well
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: for any roster, any team that's trying to climb the
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: ladder in the Big East.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you need to have a balance of

  Speaker 2: I think, or at least the way that we that
• 3:34
  Speaker 2: we want to do it. And there's plenty of other

  Speaker 2: programs that are you know that there aren't developing any players.

  Speaker 2: They're just basically you know, it's a portal team. It's

  Speaker 2: a different team every year. But I think you do

  Speaker 2: have an advantage if you're able to blend a good

  Speaker 2: portion of your program with with your homegrown boys, homegrown

  Speaker 2: men that you develop and have a relationship with and

  Speaker 2: you really help understand your culture and then really want

  Speaker 2: to be a part of your your program, you know,

  Speaker 2: blended in with uh on a yearly basis going into

  Speaker 2: the portal and and uh uh you know, trying to

  Speaker 2: help yourself in critical spots of need, which you know
• 4:13
  Speaker 2: is always gonna be the way that we do things.

  Speaker 2: I think that you know, you could see that approach,

  Speaker 2: especially you know, without that extra COVID year of players,

  Speaker 2: the inventory of transfers, uh, you know, lessons so as

  Speaker 2: you could see high school players this past this year

  Speaker 2: are are are are are more important? Especially ones that

  Speaker 2: obviously could play right away.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, they do have a transfer that's a big boy
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: Duke Brennan, and uh, he's one of the best rebounders
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: in the league, second overall, and I think he's fourth,
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: maybe first in offensive rebounding. So that's gonna be I
• 4:47
  Speaker 1: would think a huge point of emphasis for you and
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: the staff.

  Speaker 2: Played for my brother for UH at Arizona State, and

  Speaker 2: so I'm pretty familiar with, you know, with his style

  Speaker 2: of play. I mean, he's a he's a hard playing

  Speaker 2: guy and and uh, you know he'll be he'll be

  Speaker 2: a great challenge for for Tyres and Eric because of

  Speaker 2: his you know, his relentlessness. You know what we're kind
• 5:08
  Speaker 2: of what we feel like we're maybe not getting, you know,
• 5:12
  Speaker 2: from the group overall. Is this just this relentless competitive effort.

  Speaker 2: You know, he's certainly going to bring that right to
• 5:19
  Speaker 2: our doorstep on Saturday.
