- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy. Into the.
- 0:21World. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way, hey?
- 0:27Everybody, good morning from the porch.
- 0:30I am on the porch and you can hear Rufus off in the distance
- 0:32over there. I'm on the porch because I just
- 0:34had to do an early morning check in for a flight for my own two
- 0:39flights for my son and myself because I'm taking him on an
- 0:42epic adventure. And I'm super excited that he is
- 0:47going to attend a Global Youth Leadership Summit put on by Tony
- 0:51Robbins. Now, those of you who are
- 0:54followers for a long time know that I worked for Tony for many,
- 0:57many years. And I before I went out on my
- 1:01own and worked with a bunch of other speakers and trainers as
- 1:04well. But Tony was where it my whole
- 1:08world changed. And when I went, that was
- 1:11actually in 1995. So we're talking 30 years ago.
- 1:16I walked into that place as a young girl and was like
- 1:21astounded by what I saw at that very first event.
- 1:25I remember walking in the door with my friend Marguerite, and
- 1:30the two of us stood there and we just looked at each other and
- 1:32went like, what did we just walk into?
- 1:36Girls in our 20s? Like, you got to be kidding me.
- 1:39This is amazing. Like, how is this all happening?
- 1:42And she and I were both in an industry that was completely
- 1:46different. We were into marketing and
- 1:48visuals and graphics and we were doing all kinds of different
- 1:52stuff. And we were.
- 1:53It was just on the cusp of technology blowing up.
- 1:56And we walked in and we had this visceral experience of like,
- 2:01holy cow. And I remember it was snowing so
- 2:06hard. We probably shouldn't have
- 2:08driven there, but we did and we did.
- 2:10We did safely and we got back and we the whole way home we
- 2:15talked about how this was going to make our lives completely
- 2:19different. And I immediately signed up to
- 2:22go to more events. I immediately threw myself in
- 2:24the ring and I kept saying I wish I had this growing up.
- 2:28I wish I had known about this growing up.
- 2:30Well, I, I am very privileged to say that my children have had
- 2:34this growing up. My daughter was able to walk a
- 2:38fire walk with Tony himself when she was nine years old.
- 2:43And I just, I just love the fact that she was able to do that and
- 2:48her level of confidence and how she, you know, just owns herself
- 2:53has always been so much different.
- 2:56Her childhood was so different than mine for many reasons, but
- 3:00for the her, the way she handled it was so much different based
- 3:04on the environment she grew up in and what I was able to give
- 3:07her from this side of the stuff. And as my son is as well his,
- 3:13his whole world was different based on what we knew and what
- 3:17we were giving them differently. And I, I dedicated myself
- 3:22completely to being able to do this and do it well.
- 3:27And make sure my kids were getting it.
- 3:30But my son has never been able to go to a live event.
- 3:34And when this came up and I saw that the applications were open
- 3:38and I put his hat in the ring and, you know, never said I was
- 3:43used to be there or anything. He had to get in on his own
- 3:45merit. He had to apply.
- 3:47He had to go through the interviews, all of it.
- 3:50And he got in. And I could not be more excited
- 3:53about this. So for the next week, tomorrow
- 3:57morning, we take off very early. And for the next week, we are
- 4:02going to be at, you know, he's going to go to the event and I
- 4:05am going to be out there supporting him from a distance.
- 4:09And I have a friend who's a daughter is also attending this
- 4:13event. And she and I are going to be
- 4:16able to spend some real quality time together working on some
- 4:20very special things. And I'm going to coerce her into
- 4:24being a guest with me while we are out there.
- 4:26So for the next week, right through till October 3rd, I'm
- 4:31sorry, not why did I say October, August 3rd, we are
- 4:35going to be remote doing these. So I am, I think it's the third.
- 4:40I think yes, it's, it's the third fly back on the 6th on the
- 4:43second. So we are going to be remote.
- 4:46And, and for those of you who are wondering who is taking care
- 4:50of everything, my husband is here taking care of all the
- 4:53animals and, you know, running the ship while I'm gone.
- 4:57And believe me, I've written him pages and pages and pages of
- 4:59notes to which he laughs. And hopefully he'll pay kind of
- 5:04attention to them. But in any event, the good news
- 5:08is that we're going to have this epic adventure and we're going
- 5:12to share it with all of you. And the better news is he's
- 5:16going to have something that's going to change his life.
- 5:19So the point of today, besides sharing this good news with you,
- 5:22is that I want you all to realize sometimes you do one
- 5:25thing and you think it's just going to be one thing.
- 5:28And it changes your whole world in a fantastic way that you
- 5:32never anticipated. So be brave, try new things,
- 5:35jump in, and you never know where it's going to lead you.
- 5:38All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:41will see you all tomorrow. And it'll probably be the butt
- 5:46crack of dawn when I do that. I think I will probably be
- 5:49recording around 2:30 AM. All right, my friends, I'll talk
- 5:52to you soon. Bye.
