- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:08Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven seventeen through seven nineteen Tiueno
- 0:16Speaker 1: Bastardo Kiro's furious strike moving across the ground, the giant statue,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Pika's surprise maneuver, and a decisive battle in mid air
- 0:28Speaker 1: Zoro's new special secret technique blasts. In these episodes, Zoro
- 0:36Speaker 1: begins to realize that the only way to defeat Pika
- 0:40Speaker 1: is by keeping him in the air where he cannot
- 0:43Speaker 1: reconnect with the ground. Actually a pretty clever understanding. I
- 0:51Speaker 1: liked this, but overall these episodes did for me a
- 0:56Speaker 1: little bit Welcome to boil Me, Welcome to the show everyone,
- 1:20Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:24Speaker 1: commissioning this episode. So yeah, this was like a weird combo, guys,
- 1:30Speaker 1: of I guess it's really what it is is that
- 1:33Speaker 1: it's a cool idea that we eventually reach when it
- 1:38Speaker 1: comes to Zoro and his attack mode and figuring out Pika.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But it just has all been so drawn out that
- 1:47Speaker 1: any interests that I might have in the development just
- 1:52Speaker 1: gets worn out by the time it actually becomes anything.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Does that make sense? And and this like the whole
- 2:06Speaker 1: I mean, I the first of these three episodes, seven seventeen,
- 2:12Speaker 1: was supposed to be included in my coverage with Florian
- 2:16Speaker 1: last week, and honestly, I don't really feel like I
- 2:22Speaker 1: need to even talk about it. And like Florian and
- 2:25Speaker 1: I barely talked about the second half of episode seven
- 2:28Speaker 1: sixteen because it was mostly to do with Hiros and
- 2:31Speaker 1: Rebecca and Diamante and then this, unfortunately, out of these
- 2:37Speaker 1: three episodes, one and a half maybe even more has
- 2:42Speaker 1: to do with them again, and I I look, occasionally, guys,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I will have these moments where I will feel like
- 3:01Speaker 1: I must have zoned out, I must have grown someone
- 3:05Speaker 1: interested that I miss something, and I will rewind and
- 3:09Speaker 1: rewatch because I'll feel like I just didn't absorb any
- 3:12Speaker 1: of that. I just clearly didn't. I need to regroup.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And I think plenty of people have experienced this, where
- 3:21Speaker 1: if you're listening to a podcast or an audiobook, you
- 3:25Speaker 1: will realize that you missed a particular thing, and then
- 3:31Speaker 1: you go back and you somehow managed to space out
- 3:36Speaker 1: again in the exact same spot that you spaced out
- 3:40Speaker 1: last time, so you wind up repeatedly rewinding and re
- 3:46Speaker 1: listening but somehow, five times in a row you still
- 3:50Speaker 1: manage to miss the thing. And that was what happened
- 3:55Speaker 1: to me. Kids. I rewound, and rewatched, and rewound, and rewatched,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and every single time my attention just wound up straying
- 4:07Speaker 1: to the point that I was like, okay, you know what,
- 4:11Speaker 1: hold on, I'm gonna go to the like. There are
- 4:17Speaker 1: summaries on a wiki of the One Piece episodes, and
- 4:21Speaker 1: I was like, let me just go and read the
- 4:25Speaker 1: beginning of the summary for this episode, because sometimes what
- 4:28Speaker 1: that does, weirdly is it gives me something to cling to,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and when I rewatch, I will absorb it better if
- 4:36Speaker 1: I've got like that guideline of what's about to happen
- 4:39Speaker 1: in terms of plot beats already in my head. I
- 4:43Speaker 1: don't do this often. I only do this when I
- 4:46Speaker 1: find that my attention is like continually wandering. And even
- 4:52Speaker 1: if I were to do it very often for other shows,
- 4:56Speaker 1: there are very few things I cover that just have
- 4:58Speaker 1: like a plot summer as detailed as the ones that
- 5:01Speaker 1: exist for One Piece, So it's not really a thing
- 5:05Speaker 1: almost at all. But I've got to tell you, when
- 5:11Speaker 1: I went and read the summary for the first half
- 5:17Speaker 1: of seven seventeen. In the one piece Wiki, I literally
- 5:25Speaker 1: did the same thing, but with text. I read the
- 5:30Speaker 1: whole like first paragraph, and I realized as I got
- 5:34Speaker 1: to the end that I hadn't absorbed a goddamn thing
- 5:36Speaker 1: and went back and read. I had to reread it
- 5:39Speaker 1: like three times because kids, it's boring. It's very boring.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I was like, I could not help but laugh because
- 5:50Speaker 1: it's just a bunch of he says this, and then
- 5:53Speaker 1: he attacks, and then he says the other thing, and
- 5:56Speaker 1: then he attacks, and then he says, no, that's not true,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and then he dodges and he attacks again, and that's
- 6:04Speaker 1: literally all it is. So when I finally kind of
- 6:09Speaker 1: like got my head around the scene, I realized that
- 6:12Speaker 1: even if I had missed everything, it wouldn't matter. It
- 6:16Speaker 1: doesn't matter. I'm gonna I just I'm just gonna read
- 6:21Speaker 1: this to you guys. Leaving toward Diamante, Kiro slashes at him,
- 6:25Speaker 1: resulting in a shockwave that blows Diamante back. While dodging
- 6:28Speaker 1: and blocking Kiros attacks, Diamante expresses disbelief in him being
- 6:31Speaker 1: able to move during the death end Hambre. After moving
- 6:35Speaker 1: away from Kiros, Diamante asks him if his body is
- 6:38Speaker 1: an iron ball, only to note that Kiros must be
- 6:41Speaker 1: feeling immense pain after seeing a spiked ball land in
- 6:44Speaker 1: his arm, before demanding to know if Kiros is a
- 6:46Speaker 1: ball of stupidity. However, Kiros proclaims that feeling pain is
- 6:50Speaker 1: a mark of being human and that the don Quixote
- 6:53Speaker 1: pirates do not understand this, before clashing with Diamante once more.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Recalling Scarlet's death. Kiros continues clashing with Dimona before claiming
- 7:01Speaker 1: the don Quixote family does not understand the pain of
- 7:03Speaker 1: losing someone they love or being unable to feel whatever
- 7:05Speaker 1: they touch, declaring what he currently feels does not hurt
- 7:09Speaker 1: when compared to the tragedies dress Rosa has suffered. Kira
- 7:12Speaker 1: leaps forward and resumes clashing with Diamante and just saying
- 7:18Speaker 1: resumes clashing with Diamante. That phrase is repeated like eight
- 7:25Speaker 1: times or so in this because it's just a bunch
- 7:29Speaker 1: of like, I suffered so bad? Yeah, did you suffer
- 7:34Speaker 1: when I murdered your wife? It was so sad I
- 7:37Speaker 1: didn't have a wife. Yeah, I killed her. Did you
- 7:40Speaker 1: know that I killed her? I bet you really miss her,
- 7:42Speaker 1: don't you? I do miss her? And I care about
- 7:45Speaker 1: my daughter, and it's so sad that she didn't know
- 7:47Speaker 1: who I was. Yeah, she didn't know who you were
- 7:50Speaker 1: because I killed your wife and then we took over
- 7:53Speaker 1: the island. Did you know that I killed your wife?
- 7:56Speaker 1: And Rebecca off to the side with Nico Robin doing
- 8:00Speaker 1: thing but gasping that he would mention their mother. I
- 8:03Speaker 1: can't believe he would say that, but she has said
- 8:06Speaker 1: it like fifty times. This is the dialogue, this is it.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It's it's so bad, it's so bad. I look. There
- 8:18Speaker 1: are times when a villain just taunting somebody with like
- 8:24Speaker 1: I killed so and so that you liked. There are
- 8:27Speaker 1: times when this works, but you can't just keep going
- 8:33Speaker 1: to it over and over again because it just loses
- 8:37Speaker 1: the bite that it's meant to have for the audience.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And so then watching somebody like Rebecca reacting to it
- 8:45Speaker 1: the whole time, I can't help but feel like I
- 8:49Speaker 1: know that that was her mother, but it would lose
- 8:51Speaker 1: its bite for Rebecca. Also, by this point, she's heard
- 8:56Speaker 1: him say it too many goddamn times. I just refuse
- 9:00Speaker 1: to believe that she would continue to be as affected
- 9:04Speaker 1: by his shit talking. After he has gone to that
- 9:08Speaker 1: same well eleven hundred and fifty times, like there's no
- 9:13Speaker 1: water left in it, there's nothing at the bottom of
- 9:15Speaker 1: that well. It's empty. The reacts are gone. So this
- 9:23Speaker 1: I will dance right on past, because really it's like,
- 9:30Speaker 1: the most that we get is just Diamante saying you
- 9:34Speaker 1: should just let us have dress Rosa because we won
- 9:39Speaker 1: all those years ago, and so you lost, get used
- 9:44Speaker 1: to it. That's basically it. He's it's very like, I
- 9:51Speaker 1: don't know it, it's just very whatever. And ultimately Kiros
- 9:58Speaker 1: uses his technique trueno bastardo. This cuts Diamante's like wobbly
- 10:07Speaker 1: sword in two pieces and wounds him terribly, and Diamante
- 10:13Speaker 1: gets flung backward and lands on Scarlet's grave, which is
- 10:21Speaker 1: like just enough, already, okay, we get it, we get it.
- 10:25Speaker 1: She's dead. He killed her, did you know? And meanwhile,
- 10:30Speaker 1: as all of this is happening, Violet is I never
- 10:36Speaker 1: know what because they call her Violet, but then in
- 10:39Speaker 1: the subtitles sometimes it says Viola, I'm just gonna keep
- 10:42Speaker 1: going with Violet. But she is watching all of this,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and she manages to tell everybody finally that Kirosis has
- 10:49Speaker 1: beat Diamante and there's some guy there who's just like, wow,
- 10:53Speaker 1: I can't believe he came out on top. Diamante was
- 10:55Speaker 1: like at the top in the coliseum, and there's some
- 10:59Speaker 1: other dude next in the It's like, are you fucking high?
- 11:02Speaker 1: Don't you remember that Kiros was like the undefeated champion
- 11:07Speaker 1: for a long time. Of course he beat him, what
- 11:10Speaker 1: are you talking about? And honestly, I did appreciate that
- 11:13Speaker 1: little reminder and that, like the whole thing with them
- 11:24Speaker 1: at this plateau, you would think this is done now, right,
- 11:29Speaker 1: like it just feels like it should be. But we
- 11:32Speaker 1: go back to the plateau a lot of times just
- 11:38Speaker 1: to sort of have like the reactions of everybody up
- 11:41Speaker 1: there and to have like a check in, and it
- 11:45Speaker 1: is I just want that to be not a part
- 11:50Speaker 1: of the story anymore. And I know that I can't
- 11:52Speaker 1: have that because they are kind of central to what
- 11:57Speaker 1: is going on here. But I have to assume at
- 12:02Speaker 1: some point Kiros is going to be the king of
- 12:05Speaker 1: dress Rosa because Riku basically by the end of this
- 12:09Speaker 1: trio of episodes, he's like, I'm gonna go down there
- 12:11Speaker 1: and I'm going to help people. Now that my image
- 12:14Speaker 1: has been rehabilitated. Everybody can see that I wasn't the
- 12:19Speaker 1: guy who did everything they think, but I let them down.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Dress Rosa got taken over and I am not worthy
- 12:31Speaker 1: to keep doing the job. And my assumption is that
- 12:37Speaker 1: he is going to hand over the brains to kiros
- 12:46Speaker 1: I guess it's fine. Sure, whatever Sarah Fim says once again,
- 12:51Speaker 1: like eighty percent of that is just anime. Padding Viola
- 12:54Speaker 1: is her real name. Violet was what she went as
- 12:57Speaker 1: as part of Dophy's crew. Okay, I look, barb be
- 13:06Speaker 1: it from me, But don't you think if you're gonna
- 13:09Speaker 1: pick a different name when you're part of the crew,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you'd pick like a different different name. Like that just
- 13:19Speaker 1: feels it's so close? Why bother? What's the point? I
- 13:25Speaker 1: don't know. That's just me So all right, let's let's
- 13:32Speaker 1: see the next section of that episode. Is we check
- 13:38Speaker 1: in with is it ese? Is that how you say it?
- 13:41Speaker 1: The Blind Marine? He is like, weirdly a little bit
- 13:49Speaker 1: of a part of things, but there's he's not like
- 13:52Speaker 1: doing all that much. He just wants to make sure
- 13:56Speaker 1: that everybody is being more organized and get the Marines
- 14:00Speaker 1: to gather all of the citizens together and that's kind
- 14:05Speaker 1: of the only check in that we have with him.
- 14:09Speaker 1: And uh. We go then to Pica now saying that
- 14:20Speaker 1: I liked the revelation of how to defeat Pica. I
- 14:25Speaker 1: really mean that in terms of the way that he works,
- 14:28Speaker 1: because essentially what it is is that like he can
- 14:34Speaker 1: travel to different stones by like basically okay, so the
- 14:43Speaker 1: power that he has, what it is that Zoro finally
- 14:46Speaker 1: zeros in on helloel is if I try to kill
- 14:52Speaker 1: this guy's stone body, the actual body is hidden somewhere
- 14:58Speaker 1: in there and is unaffected. I'm just cutting up stone,
- 15:02Speaker 1: which just nothing, and I have to find his body.
- 15:06Speaker 1: But when he is in such a huge mass of stone,
- 15:10Speaker 1: how do I find it? Where is he? And he
- 15:15Speaker 1: begins to realize that Pika can travel through the ground.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So what I have to do is disconnect him from
- 15:26Speaker 1: the ground and get him in mid air, so that
- 15:34Speaker 1: if I cut him in half in mid air, he
- 15:39Speaker 1: has to be in one of those two halves. And
- 15:42Speaker 1: then if I cut that half in half, he's got
- 15:45Speaker 1: to be in one of those two. And you can
- 15:47Speaker 1: always tell which one he's in because he blinks his
- 15:50Speaker 1: eyes open in whatever section he's in, or he talks
- 15:54Speaker 1: and so he gives himself a way, which really Pika
- 15:58Speaker 1: should kind of like pipe down and stop being so active,
- 16:02Speaker 1: because then he could uh disguise which of the two
- 16:08Speaker 1: halves he's in. But Pika just Pika's a talker, considering
- 16:14Speaker 1: like how silly his voice sounds and everything. He really
- 16:19Speaker 1: is a chatty kathy and so Zoro is able to
- 16:24Speaker 1: like continually pare down or that's that's the goal. But first,
- 16:31Speaker 1: what we have are we have this whole thing with
- 16:38Speaker 1: Pica looking over at the plateau and he sees that
- 16:43Speaker 1: everybody is like trying to get Riku to like encourage
- 16:48Speaker 1: him to be king again, and Pika gets real fucking irritated,
- 16:54Speaker 1: and he says that do Flamingo is the only one
- 16:58Speaker 1: worthy to be king. He tries to do the whole
- 17:03Speaker 1: like after everything he did to you when he's talking
- 17:07Speaker 1: to Rebecca and to Kiros, and it's so weird because
- 17:13Speaker 1: I guess he's thinking that they don't know the truth
- 17:19Speaker 1: at this point, sir, maybe knowing what do you think?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying, like just the idea
- 17:30Speaker 1: that this secret of what he really did has been
- 17:33Speaker 1: kept this whole time, my friend, I mean of course
- 17:39Speaker 1: they are aware that this was all a set up
- 17:41Speaker 1: by now, so they have to say that to him,
- 17:44Speaker 1: you know, and be like, dude, we know Rico didn't
- 17:48Speaker 1: actually kill a bunch of people and he didn't do X,
- 17:51Speaker 1: Y and Z, And it just seems like it irritates
- 17:54Speaker 1: him that they are aware, But he's very It's him
- 18:03Speaker 1: and Diamante are both surprisingly ride or die when it
- 18:12Speaker 1: comes to Do Flamingo. And when I say surprisingly, I
- 18:17Speaker 1: guess what I mean is it's not really surprising in
- 18:20Speaker 1: a villain exactly. It's more that I don't really know what.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I would like a little bit more detail on what
- 18:31Speaker 1: it is they see in Do Flamingo that makes them
- 18:35Speaker 1: think that he is such a worthy ruler because the
- 18:39Speaker 1: fact that he has like won in the past. Sure,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but I haven't really gotten a lot of like substance
- 18:50Speaker 1: from the way that everybody who works for him sort
- 18:54Speaker 1: of worships him. The main takeaway is just that he
- 18:58Speaker 1: tends to win most of the time. Maybe that's it.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Maybe it's that simple, you know that he just sends
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be the strongest. He has a power set that
- 19:12Speaker 1: is really really difficult to defend against, and that inherently
- 19:17Speaker 1: makes him worthy. But if that is what it is,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I would kind of like to hear them say it.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It just feels like they keep talking about how he's
- 19:31Speaker 1: the only one who's worthy, and that we won, you lost,
- 19:37Speaker 1: and so you're you should just accept the way things
- 19:41Speaker 1: are in a way that's sort of like it feels
- 19:48Speaker 1: like a very half asked kind of reasoning. To me,
- 19:53Speaker 1: it feels like it doesn't feel so much like they
- 19:58Speaker 1: are saying do Flamingo would be such a good ruler.
- 20:01Speaker 1: It feels a lot more like what they're saying is,
- 20:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, we already beat you guys. Can't you
- 20:08Speaker 1: just settle down? This is a lot of work. I'm
- 20:11Speaker 1: really sick of having to beat you guys back down
- 20:13Speaker 1: over and over again. That's what it sounds like to me.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Is less I think Dol Flamingo is the man for
- 20:20Speaker 1: the job and much more. He's already king Just leave it,
- 20:27Speaker 1: Just leave it alone, you know what I mean. And
- 20:29Speaker 1: there's something about both of them feeling this way in
- 20:33Speaker 1: this vague sense that's like a part of me was
- 20:37Speaker 1: sort of interested in the fact that they are both arguing.
- 20:41Speaker 1: For Dol Flamingo, it's not just about I I'm on
- 20:47Speaker 1: this certain side, and I want my side to win.
- 20:50Speaker 1: What they are starting to do is argue why Dolflo
- 20:53Speaker 1: Mingo is better for everybody, but they never actually like
- 20:57Speaker 1: explain in detail what what they mean why that is.
- 21:02Speaker 1: And I really kind of you, guys. I'm always this one.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I want an itemized list, I want opening arguments. I
- 21:11Speaker 1: want a courtroom drama where we present the witnesses from
- 21:17Speaker 1: either side. We present a you know, maybe bar graph
- 21:22Speaker 1: about the economy, perhaps have some some you know reports
- 21:30Speaker 1: about trade. Let's sit down and let's have a discussion.
- 21:34Speaker 1: But honestly, it's just very much like Dophie's cool. He's
- 21:40Speaker 1: very cool and badass, and you should let him rule
- 21:43Speaker 1: you because you should be so lucky. It's nothing. So
- 21:49Speaker 1: I was a little disappointed because Peka's like throwing in
- 21:52Speaker 1: and getting pretty hardcore about like no, no, no, Rico's
- 21:57Speaker 1: not taking his country back. That's not what's happening is bullshit.
- 22:02Speaker 1: It could have been a compelling thing to have happen,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and instead it just feels sort of flat. And what's
- 22:13Speaker 1: really a shame about it is that Pika is such
- 22:16Speaker 1: a weirdo character that having him in particular be the
- 22:22Speaker 1: one that's like rooting for dofel Mingo. You could do
- 22:31Speaker 1: something kind of interesting with that. I don't know, I
- 22:34Speaker 1: just feel like there's potential there. So anyway, this whole
- 22:38Speaker 1: thing with like Pika sort of he was focused entirely
- 22:44Speaker 1: on his fight with Zoro, but once he starts to
- 22:47Speaker 1: realize that Riku is being put back on the table,
- 22:50Speaker 1: he gets quite distracted and he decides that he is
- 22:55Speaker 1: not gonna take it, and he sets up all of
- 23:00Speaker 1: these barriers as he takes off, using you know, the
- 23:06Speaker 1: earth to travel in pretty much, and he makes it
- 23:13Speaker 1: so that Zorro cannot easily follow him because Zorro is
- 23:17Speaker 1: on foot. This is this is one of those things
- 23:22Speaker 1: that happens with this show where I get that, like, yes,
- 23:26Speaker 1: Zorro is on foot, but also later on he's like
- 23:32Speaker 1: literally fighting in mid air, and the show just never
- 23:37Speaker 1: seems to know what it wants to do in terms
- 23:39Speaker 1: of like is this flight? Can people technically fly? It
- 23:45Speaker 1: just is a little disingenuous for me to be like, oh,
- 23:48Speaker 1: I can't get there in time because I'm being blocked off,
- 23:52Speaker 1: when like I have personally seen Zorro jump forty feet
- 23:58Speaker 1: and just push himself off a rock to another rock
- 24:03Speaker 1: that's thirty feet ahead and then push himself off there
- 24:06Speaker 1: and basically do a parkore between cliff sides and reach
- 24:10Speaker 1: somebody that's half mile away in fifteen seconds. I've seen it,
- 24:17Speaker 1: we've done it. So for all of a sudden us
- 24:20Speaker 1: to be like, oh, I can't catch him. He set
- 24:22Speaker 1: this up so that I couldn't reach him. Uh uh,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I'm not buying it, especially because it's all of these
- 24:28Speaker 1: like stone spikes, which in my mind is like the
- 24:33Speaker 1: exact type of thing that would be perfect for a
- 24:36Speaker 1: character like Zoro to use to travel to get to
- 24:39Speaker 1: him fast. So it's just the only thing that I
- 24:44Speaker 1: did think was kind of funny was Zoro going through
- 24:47Speaker 1: all of his different plans that he could do. So
- 24:52Speaker 1: first he's just like I could slash him from real
- 24:54Speaker 1: far away, and then he's like, Okay, by the time
- 24:58Speaker 1: that reach him, reaches him, there's gonna be like no power,
- 25:01Speaker 1: and it's gonna be like I'm just slapping him across
- 25:03Speaker 1: the face, and no, I could jump on top of him.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Now I can't jump all the way up there. That's
- 25:11Speaker 1: not happening either. Then he's like I could try and
- 25:14Speaker 1: warn Zorro and everybody, and he just literally starts yelling, no,
- 25:20Speaker 1: Zoro us up. Sorry, he could try and warn Oosop
- 25:22Speaker 1: and everybody. So he starts yelling and very quickly realizes, Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 1: that's not gonna work either because I'm too far away
- 25:33Speaker 1: and there's too much noise. So let's see what is
- 25:39Speaker 1: the next one, because there's a bunch of oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Then he's like, oh, I know transponder stail and then
- 25:45Speaker 1: he reaches into his pocket and he's just like, oh,
- 25:48Speaker 1: I guess I dropped it. And it's weird because there's
- 25:50Speaker 1: like a cut right here to Oosop as if Usop
- 25:55Speaker 1: saw Zorro realizing that he had dropped it. But I
- 26:00Speaker 1: couldn't tell if that was just like a weird coincidence
- 26:03Speaker 1: or if I am supposed to think that that's what
- 26:05Speaker 1: happened there. And anyway, Zora is also like, if I
- 26:11Speaker 1: yelled to them, they're not going to have time to
- 26:13Speaker 1: get out of the way in any case, and maybe
- 26:20Speaker 1: five sees that, like, oh, Pika is about to try
- 26:25Speaker 1: and kill Riku, and this results like because she steps
- 26:33Speaker 1: in with cy at a few different points, and I
- 26:36Speaker 1: was sort of interested in how this is going to
- 26:38Speaker 1: shake out, but it turns out that yeah, Pika sees
- 26:43Speaker 1: that she is working with them and is instantly like, wow,
- 26:49Speaker 1: you completely betrayed us, Oh my god, and he starts
- 26:55Speaker 1: to attack her as well. Pika is pretty much kind
- 27:00Speaker 1: of going after like anybody who isn't nailed down. You know,
- 27:05Speaker 1: there is a point where and correct me if I'm wrong,
- 27:08Speaker 1: but it almost looks like he's going after the lower
- 27:13Speaker 1: level folks on his own side, which I thought was
- 27:17Speaker 1: sort of weird, And I don't know if it's supposed
- 27:18Speaker 1: to be, like is he just having a tantrum and
- 27:20Speaker 1: so he doesn't realize or what. So around this time
- 27:28Speaker 1: is when Zoro starts to like realize exactly how we're
- 27:31Speaker 1: going to be able to take this guy down, and
- 27:36Speaker 1: the whole like huge imposing quality of Pika standing over
- 27:45Speaker 1: everybody on the plateau. I have to admit, it's like
- 27:51Speaker 1: lost its impact at this point. You know, it just
- 27:57Speaker 1: happens when you draw something out this much, the impressive
- 28:03Speaker 1: quality that you begin to develop from seeing the first
- 28:08Speaker 1: time we saw Pika's ability come on, it was like
- 28:13Speaker 1: very very impressive. It was so cool, and it's gotten
- 28:18Speaker 1: to this place where it's almost like I feel like
- 28:21Speaker 1: a dog a little bit, where it's just too big
- 28:24Speaker 1: for me to fully comprehend. And now it's just sort
- 28:28Speaker 1: of a vague impression of like, oh, yeah, there's a
- 28:34Speaker 1: face on this hill, and that isn't like it's supposed
- 28:38Speaker 1: to be. This guy is a mountain. You know. That
- 28:42Speaker 1: sounds very impressive in a vacuum, but the effect of
- 28:47Speaker 1: it being in my face over and over again is
- 28:51Speaker 1: such that I start to just be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
- 28:54Speaker 1: so the guy's big whatever. And I regret a little
- 28:59Speaker 1: bit that it starts to just numb me, because I
- 29:02Speaker 1: think this actual moment where Zoro starts to like cut
- 29:07Speaker 1: him in half would hit a bit harder if I
- 29:10Speaker 1: didn't feel so inured to the effect of this by now.
- 29:17Speaker 1: So let's see, there's a bunch of Marines as well
- 29:22Speaker 1: who are hitting Pika with cannonballs, and I think this
- 29:26Speaker 1: was part of what also was like just making me
- 29:30Speaker 1: kind of zone out during this episode, is I had
- 29:36Speaker 1: to sit through a lot of attacks on Pika that
- 29:40Speaker 1: I knew weren't gonna work. You know. It was just
- 29:44Speaker 1: like one after another of things that I'm just why
- 29:47Speaker 1: are you wasting my time? And your time. Of course,
- 29:51Speaker 1: cannon balls are not going to work on this fucking guy.
- 29:54Speaker 1: It's not going to happen, and having to just sit
- 29:58Speaker 1: and watch them, and it's more like we have to
- 30:01Speaker 1: make the Marines do something, you know. It almost doesn't
- 30:04Speaker 1: even feel like they themselves think they're going to have
- 30:07Speaker 1: an effect so much as well. We can't just like
- 30:09Speaker 1: sit here and do nothing. So I guess, sure, cannonballs,
- 30:13Speaker 1: that's the best we can come up with. And we
- 30:20Speaker 1: get this guy. I think his name is Tank. There's
- 30:23Speaker 1: a moment in the first of these three episodes where
- 30:28Speaker 1: Viola is remembering how when she first heard that Diamante
- 30:33Speaker 1: was bragging that he killed Scarlet, she was going to
- 30:39Speaker 1: jump in and beat the shit out of him. Basically,
- 30:42Speaker 1: she was disgusted and very emotional, and this guy Tank
- 30:48Speaker 1: holds her back from doing it and you know, potentially
- 30:51Speaker 1: fucking things up for everybody. And that occurs to her
- 30:58Speaker 1: that moment where Tank is like trying to stop her.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It's in her memories because the guy is like crying,
- 31:04Speaker 1: He is sobbing frankly at the thought that she's going
- 31:08Speaker 1: to like throw herself away by picking a fight with
- 31:10Speaker 1: this dude. I would argue he's picking a fight with
- 31:13Speaker 1: everybody else, but you know, that's like the point of him,
- 31:18Speaker 1: I suppose, But yeah, he uh, the guy Tank winds
- 31:25Speaker 1: up coming back to being important again for a minute
- 31:30Speaker 1: where he's the one who is going to help Ricu
- 31:34Speaker 1: retreat and also like get all of the other people
- 31:37Speaker 1: who are on or around the plateau out of the way.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And Ricu is like, I am going to let everybody
- 31:50Speaker 1: else get out of here, but I'm not going anywhere
- 31:53Speaker 1: because clearly Pica is after me. So if I'm the target,
- 31:58Speaker 1: let me just stay here and face this guy. And
- 32:08Speaker 1: Pika is like, all right, well, I'm going to kill
- 32:11Speaker 1: you and I'm gonna crush this entire plateau. And Ricu
- 32:17Speaker 1: isn't even resisting at all. He is very much in
- 32:21Speaker 1: a headspace right now. I think of just like Penance.
- 32:25Speaker 1: You know, I am paying for my failures as a leader.
- 32:31Speaker 1: And I have such mixed feelings about this, because I
- 32:39Speaker 1: admire anybody who is in a leadership position for taking
- 32:45Speaker 1: responsibility in a general sense. That's always been something that's
- 32:49Speaker 1: missing in leadership in my world, and so I'm a fan.
- 32:54Speaker 1: On the other hand, there is a point where I'm like, Okay,
- 32:57Speaker 1: this isn't doing anything for anybody, though, you get that right,
- 33:01Speaker 1: Like this is not helping, and you're like, I think
- 33:07Speaker 1: the thing that he thinks is happening here is if
- 33:11Speaker 1: I make myself a target and take my punishment, I
- 33:16Speaker 1: will be saving the lives of all of these other
- 33:19Speaker 1: people who are here through no fault of their own
- 33:23Speaker 1: that I already fucked up with to begin with. And
- 33:30Speaker 1: I will finally get to lay down my life in
- 33:34Speaker 1: place of theirs so that I can offer them the
- 33:40Speaker 1: protection I should have offered all those days in the past,
- 33:45Speaker 1: when actually I was the one galloping around hurting people
- 33:50Speaker 1: and being the one swinging the sword. Now I can
- 33:53Speaker 1: put myself between them and the sword, and I do
- 33:59Speaker 1: admire that. Actually I like it. And Riku, I haven't
- 34:02Speaker 1: gotten that much of him since all of this is
- 34:05Speaker 1: like turn this corner, and I find him sort of
- 34:07Speaker 1: interesting because he's like he's he's he's a little bit
- 34:14Speaker 1: boring in some ways, but I feel like there's a
- 34:16Speaker 1: lot of potential there, And I guess that's really what
- 34:22Speaker 1: it is, is more that I'm interested in his potential
- 34:24Speaker 1: more than what's actually being done with him. But the
- 34:29Speaker 1: fact that he is just sort of like offering himself up.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Zoro does not think much of this, and he also
- 34:35Speaker 1: is like, I don't like the fact that Pika is
- 34:38Speaker 1: going to flatten this guy when he's not offering up
- 34:44Speaker 1: any fight, Like that's not the whole point is the
- 34:50Speaker 1: fight to Zoro. So Pika just being like, I'm just
- 34:53Speaker 1: going to crush you an unresisting, willing participant, I think
- 34:59Speaker 1: kind of short shorts out his brain a little bit.
- 35:04Speaker 1: And then Pika starts to like bring down the hammer
- 35:10Speaker 1: because he's made one of his fists into a giant,
- 35:13Speaker 1: you know, house size thing, bigger than a house actually,
- 35:17Speaker 1: And this is when Zoro jumps in with his armament
- 35:20Speaker 1: hockey and begins to slice him up. This is also
- 35:29Speaker 1: when Riku states, like, because Pica is mocking him for
- 35:33Speaker 1: all of his fuck ups, And this is when Riku says,
- 35:38Speaker 1: for sure, oh yeah, after all of this, like I
- 35:40Speaker 1: am not taking the throne back again. That's a wrap
- 35:43Speaker 1: on that job for me. And I didn't really get
- 35:47Speaker 1: a good sense of like if Pica was surprised by
- 35:52Speaker 1: that at all. I kind of wondered if he was thinking,
- 35:57Speaker 1: like I didn't expect it. I'll say that. I'm curious
- 36:02Speaker 1: if you guys thought that this was going to be
- 36:04Speaker 1: the way it would go. Riku's deciding I'm going to
- 36:08Speaker 1: abdicate the throne. It makes sense actually politically speaking, if
- 36:14Speaker 1: you fucked up this bad and you have been like
- 36:17Speaker 1: a prisoner of the enemy this whole time, and you
- 36:20Speaker 1: were kept so separate from everyone that the whole kingdom
- 36:25Speaker 1: literally assumed you were dead. Yeah, yeah, I think probably
- 36:31Speaker 1: it is for the best that you not be the
- 36:35Speaker 1: king anymore. Like, how do you command respect after being
- 36:41Speaker 1: treated like this and the entire kingdom is taken over
- 36:46Speaker 1: by a bad, bad man and you were there by
- 36:53Speaker 1: his side the whole time. And that's not to say
- 36:55Speaker 1: it all that he's like complicit, but knowing that kind
- 37:00Speaker 1: of humiliation that he has been forced to experience, it's
- 37:05Speaker 1: just not something that really inspires a great level of
- 37:07Speaker 1: trust I could see in people. So I just have
- 37:13Speaker 1: a I just feel sort of like I should have
- 37:18Speaker 1: seen coming that Rica would not want the throne back,
- 37:21Speaker 1: But I genuinely just sort of expected we're just going
- 37:25Speaker 1: to go back to how everything had been. I really did.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I figured we are working toward going back to the
- 37:34Speaker 1: way it had all used to be and trying to
- 37:39Speaker 1: get closer to the past and working backward, which isn't
- 37:44Speaker 1: really a great mindset. That's not like, that's not the
- 37:49Speaker 1: way forward, that's literally not the way forward. So once
- 37:53Speaker 1: I realized, I was, like, I feel like a bit
- 37:57Speaker 1: I felt very old. Really was it was because it
- 38:02Speaker 1: was sort of giving. Of course, you're just trying to
- 38:06Speaker 1: reach into the past to regain something that has been
- 38:11Speaker 1: lost forever Natasha. You know, it felt like a bit
- 38:13Speaker 1: of an indictment that it didn't occur to me that
- 38:15Speaker 1: maybe we should just do something new now. And like
- 38:20Speaker 1: I said, I am assuming that it's going to be Kiros.
- 38:23Speaker 1: I've got to be real though. If it isn't Kiros,
- 38:28Speaker 1: that would be pretty cool. I would be into it.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Like Kiros is just such the obvious choice, and to
- 38:38Speaker 1: a point, that's fine, but like, look, I know that
- 38:45Speaker 1: this is me just wishing for a thing that's never
- 38:48Speaker 1: going to happen. It would, though, be kind of nice
- 38:53Speaker 1: if we could have a woman ruler. What about that
- 38:58Speaker 1: crazy idea? But what if we had Rebecca be the
- 39:04Speaker 1: queen instead of there being a king. I don't think
- 39:13Speaker 1: that that is likely to happen at all. And I
- 39:17Speaker 1: especially don't think that it is likely to happen because
- 39:20Speaker 1: Rebecca is still single. And maybe this is me just
- 39:25Speaker 1: like not giving Oda much credit here, but forgive me,
- 39:32Speaker 1: it does not seem like she Like women characters are
- 39:38Speaker 1: often trusted with power unless they have a male partner
- 39:43Speaker 1: in the picture. I just the only time that we
- 39:48Speaker 1: have really seen a woman in power is like that
- 39:53Speaker 1: wasn't an actual bad guy is Boa Hancock and she
- 39:59Speaker 1: was sort of strattling the line between that guy think
- 40:02Speaker 1: a guy and then she fell totally obsessive with Loofy.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So now like she's not in a relationship, but it
- 40:09Speaker 1: feels like her power has been kind of diminished in
- 40:13Speaker 1: making her so foolish over him. So I feel like
- 40:20Speaker 1: it's just yeah, I just don't see it. Oh, Seraphim
- 40:26Speaker 1: has been commenting, Sorry, his crew is pretty much a
- 40:29Speaker 1: cult of personality. Logic doesn't matter. Their leader is just amazing.
- 40:32Speaker 1: It deserves to be in charge. There's not really anything
- 40:35Speaker 1: you could do in this situation. If going that route,
- 40:37Speaker 1: Viola would be the next in line. Oh is she
- 40:40Speaker 1: older than Rebecca? Okay, I did not keep track, but
- 40:46Speaker 1: I believe you. I the Violet Viola I'm trying to
- 40:56Speaker 1: think because she was sort of involved with Uh sangy,
- 41:03Speaker 1: But like, I know, Sanji's not gonna be king, He's
- 41:05Speaker 1: not gonna stay with her and dress Rosa, So I
- 41:08Speaker 1: don't see that happening either. I think it's gonna have
- 41:12Speaker 1: to be Kiros. And I also feel like if we
- 41:16Speaker 1: were looking at this from the perspective of what it
- 41:19Speaker 1: would be like in real life, Kiros is the choice
- 41:23Speaker 1: because he's been turned into a toy, and in that sense,
- 41:30Speaker 1: he has experienced something that a lot of people in
- 41:33Speaker 1: the city would have experienced that would be very difficult
- 41:35Speaker 1: to like explain to someone who has not gone through it.
- 41:40Speaker 1: So I feel like he would have a big advantage
- 41:42Speaker 1: there in saying, like, I'm one of you guys, I
- 41:46Speaker 1: went through the same thing, and just the fact that,
- 41:49Speaker 1: like he was not enslaved when he was transformed, so
- 41:55Speaker 1: he manages to continue to be badass and try to
- 42:00Speaker 1: fight back even when he's a toy, which, like it's
- 42:03Speaker 1: no fault of anybody else's that they don't do that
- 42:06Speaker 1: because they are enslave, they cannot make choices for themselves.
- 42:10Speaker 1: They are put in a position specifically where they have
- 42:13Speaker 1: to do as they are told to do. So this
- 42:15Speaker 1: is no criticism, but I could see that really really
- 42:19Speaker 1: working for him if you were talking about like an
- 42:22Speaker 1: election platform, you know what I mean, having it be
- 42:28Speaker 1: I not only was turned into a toy, my child
- 42:31Speaker 1: forgot me, my wife was murdered. I went through all
- 42:33Speaker 1: these hardships, and yet throughout it all, despite everything, I
- 42:39Speaker 1: never forgot about all of you, and I never stopped
- 42:42Speaker 1: fighting for dress Rosa. Like, that's a pretty compelling platform
- 42:47Speaker 1: to run on. Oh, Seraphim says, violent is Rebecca's aunt, right,
- 42:55Speaker 1: that's right, she was Scarlet's sister. Okay, yeah, thank you.
- 43:02Speaker 1: So anyway, Okay, I'm all over the place here, but frankly,
- 43:06Speaker 1: like a part of me feels like I've kind of
- 43:08Speaker 1: already talked about everything because there's not all that much
- 43:11Speaker 1: going on except that it's lots of back and forth
- 43:15Speaker 1: that it feels like I've watched the same back and
- 43:18Speaker 1: forth eight times by the time we get to the
- 43:20Speaker 1: one that actually matters. So we have Zoro cutting Peka down,
- 43:27Speaker 1: uh and pecause it's just basically like mocking Zoro for
- 43:33Speaker 1: a little bit, going like you really think you figured
- 43:36Speaker 1: me out? Huh? You really thought you won, and he
- 43:41Speaker 1: covers his entire body in hockey. He uses the armament hockey.
- 43:46Speaker 1: It's very interesting to me every time somebody reveals that
- 43:50Speaker 1: they can use armament hockey, because I can't help but
- 43:54Speaker 1: feel a little bit like, isn't that convenient? I thought
- 44:00Speaker 1: it was a lot less known than it seems to be,
- 44:05Speaker 1: and that just might be me, you know, having assigned
- 44:10Speaker 1: a frequency and a value to it. But it just
- 44:15Speaker 1: keeps popping up with people that I would not think
- 44:18Speaker 1: know how to do it. And now I'm starting to
- 44:20Speaker 1: think I have to assume most people, like at this
- 44:25Speaker 1: point in the story can do it. So Zorro is like, oh, hockey,
- 44:33Speaker 1: I got hockey too, how about that and basically says,
- 44:40Speaker 1: let's just have a little dick measuring contest right now,
- 44:43Speaker 1: see who's is stronger, And of course Pica is like,
- 44:47Speaker 1: what do you mine is stronger? What are you even
- 44:50Speaker 1: talking about? And Zorro has an interesting moment here where
- 44:57Speaker 1: he thinks back to fighting dracoul Mihawk and remembers that
- 45:05Speaker 1: he really thought he was the best. There was no
- 45:09Speaker 1: doubt in his mind, and how utterly humbled he was
- 45:16Speaker 1: when he is like, this fight I had forgotten that
- 45:18Speaker 1: Miehawk literally takes out the smallest sword he has, not
- 45:22Speaker 1: even a sword. It's like a little shrimp knife. It's
- 45:26Speaker 1: so it's so insulting, you guys, it really is. But yeah,
- 45:31Speaker 1: it's just thinking back to this moment, and he slashes
- 45:39Speaker 1: at him, and of course Pika's whole head splits the
- 45:44Speaker 1: fuck open and he starts coughing up blood down on
- 45:49Speaker 1: the ground. Bro is the King with the punch, Elizabella.
- 45:58Speaker 1: He keeps this and actually kind of funny, you guys.
- 46:01Speaker 1: He keeps trying throughout these episodes to be like, I
- 46:04Speaker 1: got it, I got it, I could do something. I
- 46:06Speaker 1: got my punch, and Zoro keeps telling him save it,
- 46:10Speaker 1: just save your punch, save your punch, and he when
- 46:18Speaker 1: he slices up Pica, Elizabella is like, oh my god,
- 46:23Speaker 1: you saved Riku. And he is so respectful for a moment.
- 46:29Speaker 1: But then because of slicing up Pika in mid air,
- 46:34Speaker 1: there's all these huge chunks of stone that are just
- 46:38Speaker 1: falling downward. And like when I say huge, I am
- 46:41Speaker 1: talking like apartment building sized. I am not talking big
- 46:46Speaker 1: like the size of a car. This the thing that is, uh,
- 46:54Speaker 1: the truth about this whole thing is that everybody in
- 46:59Speaker 1: dress Roast should be dead. The amount of attacks that
- 47:06Speaker 1: have happened on dressed Rosa that do not in any
- 47:11Speaker 1: way take into account the many civilians standing nearby, the
- 47:16Speaker 1: number of times where there has been an earthquake, huge
- 47:20Speaker 1: cracks forming in the street with people falling in. We've
- 47:23Speaker 1: had explosions going off, we've had comets falling from the sky,
- 47:28Speaker 1: and now we've got like a nine to eleven style Yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 1: I said it, pieces of mortar falling down to the ground.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Every single solitary human being on dress Rosa would be dead,
- 47:45Speaker 1: and they're not. And that's fine. But let's just be
- 47:50Speaker 1: very very for real for a second here. So as
- 47:55Speaker 1: this comes down, elicit Pellow punches the rubble away and
- 48:04Speaker 1: then he yells at Zoro about how I can't believe
- 48:09Speaker 1: you had me save my punch this whole time, and
- 48:11Speaker 1: all I did was basically be a janitor. That's the
- 48:15Speaker 1: wording that he uses. It is just like you just
- 48:18Speaker 1: had me on cleanup duty. I cackled. That was actually
- 48:24Speaker 1: really funny to me, Like it's ultimately like you probably
- 48:30Speaker 1: saved more lives than you would have otherwise, because it
- 48:37Speaker 1: just feels to me like this punch thing. I don't
- 48:43Speaker 1: really know how effective it would have been, so probably
- 48:46Speaker 1: punching rubble keeping it from landing on people, you probably
- 48:50Speaker 1: did more good with that than you would have in
- 48:51Speaker 1: any other use of your punch. Especially I don't know
- 48:57Speaker 1: about this punch up against hockey. Now that Pika had
- 49:01Speaker 1: hockey this whole time, how am I supposed to look
- 49:04Speaker 1: at this? I feel like there's no world in which
- 49:11Speaker 1: this punch from this king overpowers hockey and does jack shit.
- 49:16Speaker 1: And maybe that's me just underestimating him. I don't know,
- 49:19Speaker 1: but I think that likely he either underestimates his enemy,
- 49:25Speaker 1: overestimates himself, or is just wrecked up in his ego
- 49:30Speaker 1: and that this was good for him. Seraphim says it's
- 49:36Speaker 1: also a longstanding fan concept that a lot of people
- 49:41Speaker 1: we met were using it all the time. The show
- 49:44Speaker 1: just didn't start using the black coloring to show it
- 49:47Speaker 1: off till after the time. Skip. Nah, I can't decide
- 49:52Speaker 1: how I feel about that. I get what you mean,
- 49:55Speaker 1: and probably that's true. I could see that being like
- 50:00Speaker 1: a believable explanation, but I've got to admit it feels
- 50:07Speaker 1: a little bit of a cheat. And maybe that's not fair.
- 50:11Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, I can't decide,
- 50:17Speaker 1: but I think you're probably right. So that's the end
- 50:27Speaker 1: of seven nineteen guys. I have like almost ten minutes remaining,
- 50:34Speaker 1: and I feel like I've covered everything in these three
- 50:36Speaker 1: episodes because there's not that much else. We just spend
- 50:42Speaker 1: most of our time on Kiro's diamante and I don't
- 50:46Speaker 1: even want to include Rebecca in it anymore. When I'm
- 50:48Speaker 1: saying it, I'm including Rebecca by a default because Kiros
- 50:51Speaker 1: is her dad and he's doing this for her allegedly,
- 50:53Speaker 1: and YadA, YadA, YadA. But it just does not feel
- 50:56Speaker 1: like Rebecca's actually doing anything at this point. So a
- 51:00Speaker 1: big part of me is sort of like, eugh whatever
- 51:03Speaker 1: about her and doesn't feel like she's really involved now.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And Robin is pretty badly injured from making this like
- 51:13Speaker 1: umbrella thing that she did to block them all from
- 51:16Speaker 1: that rain. So honestly, Robin, I don't want you injuring
- 51:26Speaker 1: yourself on Rebecca's behalf ever again. And maybe that's like
- 51:29Speaker 1: cold blooded of me to say, but I'm sorry, Rebecca,
- 51:33Speaker 1: you are not worth it. You are very very boring,
- 51:37Speaker 1: and I guess I can pardon it this time because
- 51:42Speaker 1: Robin had to also save herself, so making this umbrella
- 51:46Speaker 1: saved her also, And it wasn't just her like sacrificing
- 51:50Speaker 1: herself on behalf of Rebecca, it was for everybody. But like,
- 51:55Speaker 1: that's the only time I'm going to make this exception. Otherwise,
- 51:59Speaker 1: don't do this again. I don't like it. Robin. Robin
- 52:04Speaker 1: has been, as you all know, kind of my least
- 52:08Speaker 1: favorite of the crew because I just find her boring
- 52:12Speaker 1: and I appreciate the attempts to have her be like
- 52:19Speaker 1: the sort of morbid one and whatnot, and like sometimes
- 52:23Speaker 1: that lands, but most of the time she just comes
- 52:28Speaker 1: across as very dull. So you really must know how
- 52:35Speaker 1: I feel about Rebecca. If I am reprimanding Robin for
- 52:39Speaker 1: risking herself on Rebecca's behalf, it's got to be pretty bad.
- 52:47Speaker 1: I just I feel so sad about this, in large
- 52:50Speaker 1: part because it's a woman character problem. Clearly with this show.
- 52:57Speaker 1: He just has a lot of women be really really
- 53:02Speaker 1: boring because they have to be good in this way
- 53:08Speaker 1: that is so narrow and so almost like childish. You
- 53:17Speaker 1: know that it does a complete disservice to actual real
- 53:24Speaker 1: human beings a lot of the time, and maybe this
- 53:30Speaker 1: is just something that feels like it applies to women
- 53:34Speaker 1: so much because there are so few women characters overall
- 53:36Speaker 1: that matter that I am on high alert with them,
- 53:40Speaker 1: and probably if I did the math, there's lots of
- 53:43Speaker 1: male characters that are just as dull. But when you've
- 53:47Speaker 1: got so many men characters, it doesn't matter that some
- 53:51Speaker 1: of them are boring because you've got a billion to
- 53:53Speaker 1: choose from. And not me being like one of our
- 53:59Speaker 1: mains but also being real greedy. That's like as close
- 54:02Speaker 1: as we come to somebody who's of a woman who's
- 54:09Speaker 1: of real importance and has like a through line flaw
- 54:13Speaker 1: to her that makes her seem like kind of a
- 54:17Speaker 1: less good person, because even like the flaw with Baby five,
- 54:22Speaker 1: it's like a flaw that means that she's too giving,
- 54:26Speaker 1: you know, even that it makes her like so open
- 54:31Speaker 1: hearted and kind in a way that's damaging and foolish,
- 54:34Speaker 1: but still so That's part of what I really enjoy
- 54:39Speaker 1: about Nami is that she's allowed to just be avaricious
- 54:43Speaker 1: and opportunistic. I just want to see the more dope women.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Viole is like a little bit more fun her introduction
- 54:57Speaker 1: being a double agent and try to seduce Sanji and
- 55:01Speaker 1: convince him to kill a guy and all that. That
- 55:04Speaker 1: was a pretty good time. I wouldn't mind if we
- 55:06Speaker 1: had her going back into the fem fatale thing just
- 55:10Speaker 1: to drop Like, I get that part of it was
- 55:12Speaker 1: her cover, but maybe we could have it be that,
- 55:15Speaker 1: like she was good at it and she misses it.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Maybe she's you know, I don't know how that would
- 55:18Speaker 1: even work, but anyway, Okay, I'm gonna wrap this up.
- 55:24Speaker 1: I think I've said enough. I appreciate you all bearing
- 55:27Speaker 1: with me on missing it for the last episode. Thank
- 55:29Speaker 1: you Florian as well, and thank you Seraphim for coming
- 55:33Speaker 1: in and chatting and telling me stuff that I uh
- 55:35Speaker 1: forgot or got wrong. Need that. Hope you guys are
- 55:39Speaker 1: enjoying the coverage, and until next time to Loo motherfuckers.
- 56:12Speaker 1: That was an Unspoiled Network podcast.
