Latest / Naughty But Nice with Rob Shuter / EX-PRINCE ANDREW ARRESTED ON 66TH BIRTHDAY OVER EPSTEIN-LINKED MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS
Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Scales. Sure, it's hello, No, No, No, and Lollo. Welcome
- 0:15Speaker 1: to the Naughty but Nic Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Normally on Thursday's Idea Friend, Mark Lupo joins us, but
- 0:21Speaker 1: today I'm going to do a solo show because we
- 0:23Speaker 1: have massive breaking news, maybe the biggest news we've done
- 0:26Speaker 1: on the Naughty but Nice Show. Wow. Prince Andrew, the
- 0:29Speaker 1: former Prince Andrew has been arrested on his sixty sixth
- 0:32Speaker 1: birthday over the Epstein Links misconduct allegations. Silver King's brother
- 0:38Speaker 1: has been taken into custody as police probe confidential trade documents.
- 0:44Speaker 1: So let me explain exactly what's going on here. It's
- 0:46Speaker 1: a stunning development. Former Prince Andrew has been arrested on
- 0:51Speaker 1: his sixty sixth birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public
- 0:55Speaker 1: office related to his past associations with Jeffrey according to
- 1:01Speaker 1: UK authorities, Playing clothes officers arrived early Thursday. It's Thursday
- 1:07Speaker 1: today in Britain. Let's remember they are five hours ahead.
- 1:11Speaker 1: That's why we are playing catch up Thursday at the
- 1:14Speaker 1: Sandrington estate in eastern England. If you remember, he has
- 1:18Speaker 1: been kicked out finally of the Royal Lodge. He went
- 1:21Speaker 1: kicking and screaming. He did not want to leave the
- 1:24Speaker 1: Royal Lodge, but finally the King insisted, you're gonna move,
- 1:28Speaker 1: you have to move. Well, they placed him. They placed
- 1:31Speaker 1: him at where he's father, Prince Philip used to stay
- 1:36Speaker 1: at Sandrington while the real residence, that the permanent residence
- 1:40Speaker 1: for Andrew was being renovated. So they wanted him out
- 1:43Speaker 1: of London. They wanted him out right now, so they
- 1:46Speaker 1: sent him up to Sandringham. So he's up there. It's
- 1:50Speaker 1: in eastern England, about three miles away from London. He's
- 1:55Speaker 1: staying in a smaller place. It's still a luxury place
- 1:58Speaker 1: while he's waiting for the farm mansion to be renovated.
- 2:02Speaker 1: The police got him there playing clothes officers. Multiple un
- 2:07Speaker 1: marked vehicles were seen entering the property and the police.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The police confirmed that Andrew Mountbattam Windsor remains in custody.
- 2:17Speaker 1: He's in custody right now. The allegations center on claims
- 2:22Speaker 1: that confidential trade documents may have been shared with Epstein
- 2:27Speaker 1: during Andrew's time as a UK Trade Envoy. A UK
- 2:33Speaker 1: Trade Envoy under the Official Secret Acts, such material must
- 2:39Speaker 1: remain protected even after leaving public office. This is so
- 2:43Speaker 1: complicated Andrew Andrew worked as a UK trade envoy. They
- 2:49Speaker 1: didn't really want him. The Foreign Office called him a buffoon.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That was his name. Buffoon is what they called him
- 2:56Speaker 1: in the halls of Whitehall. But they had to take
- 2:59Speaker 1: it because he was the Queen's son. I'm told he
- 3:03Speaker 1: was a nightmare wherever he went around the world that
- 3:07Speaker 1: the taxpayer played for. He traveled free, first class wherever
- 3:11Speaker 1: he wanted, under the russe that he was developing trade.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It's a job that doesn't really exist. It's a job
- 3:19Speaker 1: that they give people to shut them up. It's a
- 3:21Speaker 1: favor job. I don't want to put down the roles
- 3:24Speaker 1: of ambassadors, but we know, particularly recently by some of
- 3:28Speaker 1: the ambassadors Kimberly Gildford, what is she doing in Greece?
- 3:32Speaker 1: What experience does she have doing this? I'm going to
- 3:34Speaker 1: say no more there. But we have had some dodgy
- 3:37Speaker 1: trade embassador people around the world. Many many different countries
- 3:41Speaker 1: have them. It's sort of like a favor job. If
- 3:44Speaker 1: somebody said to me, would you like to be the ambassador,
- 3:47Speaker 1: the trade ambassador to France, Yes, it'd be lovely. I
- 3:50Speaker 1: get to France. I get paid to travel there, I
- 3:52Speaker 1: get paid to stay in a fabulous place. I go
- 3:55Speaker 1: on dinners. It's a really made up type of job.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It's not necessary. However, he was given it because they
- 4:02Speaker 1: needed to give the queen's favorite son something to do.
- 4:06Speaker 1: So here he is Prince Buffoon, which is what he
- 4:09Speaker 1: was called internally. He's going around the world making no deals,
- 4:13Speaker 1: but meeting with terrible, terrible people, one after another, terrible
- 4:17Speaker 1: terrible people, and so they were always really nervous about it. Eventually, thankfully,
- 4:22Speaker 1: he stepped down from that. But when he stepped down,
- 4:25Speaker 1: he still had so many official secrets, lots of secrets
- 4:29Speaker 1: that he had been told that nobody else should have
- 4:31Speaker 1: been told he had them, and now it is alleged
- 4:36Speaker 1: that he passed on these secrets to Epstein. This is
- 4:39Speaker 1: what's important to remember about Jeffrey Epstein, and it's got
- 4:42Speaker 1: lost in the discussion. Not everybody was after girls, some
- 4:46Speaker 1: were after his private playing somewhre after his advice. Epstein
- 4:50Speaker 1: lived on really the lion between the law and unlawful.
- 4:55Speaker 1: He was on that line. If you wanted to get
- 4:57Speaker 1: rid of money, if you wanted to not pay taxes,
- 4:59Speaker 1: if He basically wanted to launder money. Epstein was your guy.
- 5:03Speaker 1: If you wanted a secret, if you wanted information, Epstein
- 5:07Speaker 1: was your guy. He was sort of like a one
- 5:09Speaker 1: stop shop for all these shady people to meet, and
- 5:14Speaker 1: he had made himself the center of that. So he
- 5:16Speaker 1: had extreme wealth, he had extreme access, he had extreme power.
- 5:20Speaker 1: A lot of celebrities used him for his private plane.
- 5:23Speaker 1: They wanted a free plane. Celebrities don't want to fly
- 5:26Speaker 1: commercial and they don't want to pay the forty to
- 5:28Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars for a private plane, so Epstein would
- 5:32Speaker 1: give them his plane. They loved that. That's a real perk.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's like when you were at the university of school
- 5:38Speaker 1: and you had one friend who had a car. That
- 5:40Speaker 1: person who had the car was the most popular person
- 5:43Speaker 1: in the school because you all wanted a lift. In celebrities,
- 5:46Speaker 1: even with all their money, his plane was the key
- 5:50Speaker 1: to so many of these connections, not just his plane,
- 5:54Speaker 1: but the girls too. Let's be honest, Andrew wasn't just
- 5:56Speaker 1: after a free place to stay a free plane, although
- 5:59Speaker 1: he enjoyed both. Andrew was after girls as well, and
- 6:04Speaker 1: it seems as if he got them. Don't forget he
- 6:07Speaker 1: settled that case with Virginia du free for twelve million,
- 6:11Speaker 1: twelve million pounds, and so Andrew was in here for
- 6:15Speaker 1: the full package, where you don't get all that unless
- 6:18Speaker 1: you give something in return. We were quite naive. We
- 6:20Speaker 1: thought Epstein was friends with Andrew just because he was
- 6:23Speaker 1: a prince and Andrew wanted access to Buckingham Palace. Some
- 6:26Speaker 1: of that's true, most of that's true, but it's more
- 6:29Speaker 1: than that. Now Andrew had secrets UK trade secrets that
- 6:35Speaker 1: he was given to Epstein, and then goodness knows what
- 6:37Speaker 1: Epstein was doing with them. There are rumors that he
- 6:40Speaker 1: was selling them to foreign governments. So if formally charged
- 6:44Speaker 1: and convicted of misconduct in public office, the offense carries
- 6:49Speaker 1: a maximum of potential maximum sentence of life imprisonment life
- 6:55Speaker 1: under the UK law. These are penalties that are so
- 6:59Speaker 1: so rare, but this case is so so public. As
- 7:02Speaker 1: you know, listening to this show last week, I was
- 7:04Speaker 1: back in Britain. I was visiting my mom for her
- 7:06Speaker 1: ninetieth birthday party. This is all anybody was talking about.
- 7:09Speaker 1: There is a hunger, there's a crowd mentality, a mob mentality.
- 7:14Speaker 1: To really hold Andrew up. As an example, people are
- 7:18Speaker 1: sick of this elite class. They're calling it the Epstein class,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and it's really given us an insight into how rich
- 7:25Speaker 1: and powerful people they get away with stuff that we
- 7:27Speaker 1: would never ever ever get away with. We just wouldn't
- 7:30Speaker 1: get away with this. They got away with it for decades.
- 7:33Speaker 1: How did did he get away with it? How did
- 7:35Speaker 1: Epstein get away with it? They got away with it
- 7:38Speaker 1: because they had power and wealth and they used both.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And so I think people want an example of Andrew here.
- 7:45Speaker 1: He's the biggest fish. So far, there's only a few
- 7:48Speaker 1: higher than him. A crowned prince, a former crowned prince
- 7:52Speaker 1: of Britain now arrested. It is absolutely shocking, maybe a
- 7:57Speaker 1: potential life sentence, life sent now. Andrew, let's point out,
- 8:02Speaker 1: has consistently denied wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. He previously
- 8:06Speaker 1: settled a civil battle we told about that, a civil
- 8:09Speaker 1: lawsuit brought by Virginia Duffrey, while denying any allegations about him.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Now the Prime Minister has put out a brief statement
- 8:17Speaker 1: saying no one is above the law. The Brits really
- 8:20Speaker 1: believe that the Palace has just issued a statement to
- 8:24Speaker 1: so they were deeply deeply concerned about this. But now finally, finally,
- 8:28Speaker 1: they have issued a statement King Charles saying the law
- 8:33Speaker 1: just takes its course. So he is trying to remain
- 8:38Speaker 1: as neutral as possible here. It is so difficult. Let
- 8:42Speaker 1: me explain the family dynamic. They're brothers. This is not
- 8:46Speaker 1: just somebody that's in the royal family. This is his brother,
- 8:49Speaker 1: and they have that in common. They were never particularly close.
- 8:53Speaker 1: There's at least twelve thirteen years between them, so they
- 8:55Speaker 1: didn't really ever grow up in the same house or
- 8:57Speaker 1: should I say palace. They were around each other, but
- 9:00Speaker 1: not really. Charles was growing up, he wasn't interested in babies.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He was off at boarding schools. They never really got
- 9:07Speaker 1: that close. They didn't go to play cricket together or
- 9:09Speaker 1: horse riding together. They had very very different interests. Charles
- 9:13Speaker 1: is quite moody, quite serious. He was always concerned about
- 9:16Speaker 1: the environment. His brother Andrew not so much. He was
- 9:20Speaker 1: the party prince, he was the harry of his generation.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He was the spare. He didn't have any responsibilities, he
- 9:26Speaker 1: didn't have anything to do in life, and he went
- 9:29Speaker 1: down a very very bad path. Now the Queen and
- 9:31Speaker 1: had a lot of sympathy for the Spare because she
- 9:35Speaker 1: she had seen what the spare, what that title, what
- 9:37Speaker 1: that position had done to her sister, Princess Margaret was
- 9:40Speaker 1: the spare and she had a terrible ending and not
- 9:43Speaker 1: that happy at a life. So the Queen always liked
- 9:45Speaker 1: Andrew and protected him. She could have dealt with this
- 9:49Speaker 1: when this story first erupted, it was not that long ago.
- 9:53Speaker 1: She didn't. She kicked the can down the road, is
- 9:56Speaker 1: what they say. So his brother, King Charles had to
- 9:59Speaker 1: deal with him, and he did not want to deal
- 10:01Speaker 1: with it either. At first. He was very hesitant to
- 10:04Speaker 1: actually address the Andrew problem. Also, their other brothers and sisters,
- 10:08Speaker 1: Anne and Edward, they didn't really want to deal with it.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Anne is very very strong, She is probably the royal
- 10:16Speaker 1: that is the most respected in Britain. But it's still
- 10:18Speaker 1: Anne's brother. Think about one of your siblings here. If
- 10:21Speaker 1: you're in a family business, or you have a sibling
- 10:24Speaker 1: in trouble, you often want to look away. And that's
- 10:26Speaker 1: what they did. They buried their head in the sand
- 10:29Speaker 1: until thankfully William came along. William and Charles have been
- 10:34Speaker 1: at war with one another, and the center of that
- 10:37Speaker 1: war has been Andrew. William wants Andrew at William wants
- 10:42Speaker 1: Andrew done. William wants to say goodbye to Andrew. He's
- 10:46Speaker 1: been pushing. He's the one. He's the reason that Andrew's
- 10:49Speaker 1: stripped of his titles. He's the reason. William's the reason
- 10:53Speaker 1: that Andrew is no longer living in London. William has
- 10:57Speaker 1: been really firm here and now his dad is fun
- 11:00Speaker 1: got to the point where his brother has been arrested.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Now even the King can't look away. It is a
- 11:07Speaker 1: very very dark It is a very very profound moment
- 11:12Speaker 1: for the British royal family. I've never seen anything like this.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I think the closest we got in my lifetime was
- 11:18Speaker 1: the death of Princess Diana, and it looked wobbly for
- 11:21Speaker 1: a few days if the Royals would survive. They ultimately did.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I do believe they will survive now. But they have
- 11:26Speaker 1: to close ranks. They can't get involved in this criminal
- 11:30Speaker 1: in this criminal investigation. They can't. They have to sit back.
- 11:33Speaker 1: As Charles said, the law has to take its time.
- 11:37Speaker 1: As the Prime Minister said that they that they believe
- 11:41Speaker 1: nobody is above the law. Over there, there's profound concern
- 11:46Speaker 1: going on about all this for now, the investigation is active,
- 11:50Speaker 1: but the implications for the monarchy are really, really significant.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I know some of our listeners won't be that excited
- 11:58Speaker 1: about our royal talk. I know a lot of our
- 12:01Speaker 1: listeners are like, why is this dominating the news today?
- 12:04Speaker 1: If you turn on your TV, it's going to be
- 12:06Speaker 1: on all day long. It's because it's going to have
- 12:09Speaker 1: a pact impact here in America. We are not a
- 12:12Speaker 1: political show, but there are many, many names, many politicians' names,
- 12:16Speaker 1: who are in these files. The question is going to
- 12:18Speaker 1: be in America is if Britain can deal with this,
- 12:22Speaker 1: if Britain can arrest a former crowned prince, Queen Elizabeth's son,
- 12:27Speaker 1: then why is nobody being arrested here in America? Why
- 12:30Speaker 1: has nobody, nobody been put in handcuffs here in the
- 12:35Speaker 1: United States. This case is now going to get even bigger.
- 12:39Speaker 1: If you were sick of Epstein, I think we all were.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It's not going away. It's the key. It's the key
- 12:44Speaker 1: to everything. It's the key to the downfall of a
- 12:47Speaker 1: former prince, maybe potentially the key to the downfall of
- 12:51Speaker 1: a president, of politicians here in America, of former presidents.
- 12:56Speaker 1: This story, my friends I'm going to try and put
- 12:59Speaker 1: it into some sort of battle. So we hardly ever
- 13:01Speaker 1: do an as a whole show, a special show on
- 13:04Speaker 1: one topic. Today we had to. This is the story
- 13:07Speaker 1: of the day. The reason Mark's not joining us is
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm rushing this show. I want to get this show
- 13:11Speaker 1: on the air as fast as quickly as possible, because
- 13:14Speaker 1: then I'm running over to do TV before I take this.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I was on Chris Cuomo show, I'm doing CE and
- 13:18Speaker 1: End tonight. I'm running around like a lunatical day really
- 13:21Speaker 1: describing this. And one of the reasons that I'm so
- 13:23Speaker 1: lucky to be the call that they've made is I
- 13:25Speaker 1: worked for the British royal family. You all though I
- 13:28Speaker 1: worked for Jaylo, you all know I worked for Jessica
- 13:30Speaker 1: Simpson and Lisia Keys and yes, shamefully Diddy too. Well.
- 13:34Speaker 1: One of my clients was Princess Michael of Kent, and
- 13:37Speaker 1: it's through working with her that I got insight into
- 13:39Speaker 1: the Royal family that no other columnist, no other entertainment reporter,
- 13:43Speaker 1: no other TV talking head has had. I have spent
- 13:46Speaker 1: time with this family. They are slow to react. They
- 13:51Speaker 1: don't like this. They bury their heads in the sand.
- 13:56Speaker 1: You've heard the expression keep calm and carry on. That's
- 14:00Speaker 1: exactly precisely what this family has done for decades. It
- 14:03Speaker 1: is unrealistic to think that is certainly going to change,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but it has to, and today is the changing point.
- 14:09Speaker 1: This will change the British Royal family for forever once again.
- 14:13Speaker 1: The Exprince Andrew arrested on a sixty sixth birthday over
- 14:18Speaker 1: Epstein linked misconduct allegation. Yes, the King's brother has been
- 14:25Speaker 1: taken into custody as police probe a confidential trade document claim.
- 14:31Speaker 1: This is what my experts were telling me all along.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It's going to be very hard to get Andrew on
- 14:36Speaker 1: sexual misconduct, even though I think there's a lot of
- 14:39Speaker 1: evidence there. That is going to be very very difficult
- 14:42Speaker 1: to prove. The Genera Duffrey, may you rest in peace.
- 14:45Speaker 1: You cracked this case wide open eye. Tip my hat
- 14:48Speaker 1: to you, rest in power. But that is going to
- 14:52Speaker 1: be very very difficult to prove. What's easier to prove
- 14:55Speaker 1: is that Andrew was dodger with state secrets, with trade
- 14:59Speaker 1: secrets that nobody else had. What's going to happen too
- 15:03Speaker 1: to his wife who was joined his ex wife. See
- 15:06Speaker 1: I called her his wife because they're still together. They
- 15:09Speaker 1: lived together, Sarah Ferguson and his daughters. We're going to
- 15:13Speaker 1: get into that after the break. Welcome back to the
- 15:17Speaker 1: Naughty but Nisham, your host from Shooter. Thank you for
- 15:19Speaker 1: joining us on this very special, really horrifying, really groundbreaking mourning,
- 15:24Speaker 1: good grief. Let's say it one more time, just so
- 15:26Speaker 1: it sinks in the ex Prince Andrew has been arrested
- 15:29Speaker 1: over Epstein linked misconduct allegations. The King's brother, younger brother
- 15:34Speaker 1: has been taken into police custody. So In stunning developments,
- 15:38Speaker 1: former Prince Andrew has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct
- 15:42Speaker 1: in public office related to his past associations with Jeffrey Epstein.
- 15:46Speaker 1: According to UK authorities, playing clothes officers arrived at his
- 15:50Speaker 1: home in Sandringham Estate in eastern London this morning Thursday morning,
- 15:55Speaker 1: British time. There was multiple playing clothes officers, unmarked vehicles.
- 16:00Speaker 1: They were police cars but they were unmarked. They were
- 16:02Speaker 1: seen rushing into the property. Nobody knew this was coming.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I do not believe the King even had the heads up.
- 16:10Speaker 1: They don't trust the King here, not because he's a
- 16:13Speaker 1: bad guy necessarily, but because it's his brother. This is
- 16:16Speaker 1: his brother, and say the police are keeping this really tight.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Within the police force. Only few people knew this was
- 16:23Speaker 1: going to happen today. They could not have a link leak.
- 16:25Speaker 1: They could not have the prince escape in I reported
- 16:28Speaker 1: first that he was looking to move to the Middle East.
- 16:31Speaker 1: That's absolutely accurate. With his wealth, with his connections, he
- 16:34Speaker 1: could have hopped on a private plane and got out
- 16:36Speaker 1: of Britain for good. However, they kept this secret. They
- 16:40Speaker 1: rushed the estate this morning. He is now in custody.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Can you imagine that? Put it into perspective, Queen Elizabeth's
- 16:48Speaker 1: favorite son is in custoday. I am glad that the
- 16:51Speaker 1: old lady Maishi rest in peace, is not here to
- 16:54Speaker 1: see this. This would break her heart. She loved him,
- 16:58Speaker 1: She really, really, really was complicit in many ways, and
- 17:02Speaker 1: that's going to come out. People are worried about this
- 17:05Speaker 1: now now that Andrew's arrested. What else is going to
- 17:07Speaker 1: come out? What did the king know? What did Charles
- 17:09Speaker 1: know about this? I was working on a story for
- 17:12Speaker 1: today that one of the reasons that Charles has been
- 17:15Speaker 1: so lenient on his brother is he has almost been blackmailed.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Andrew's going to spill. Andrew will do anything to save himself.
- 17:21Speaker 1: He's a very selfish, very self centered individual. He'll tell
- 17:24Speaker 1: what the King knew. He will, He'll throw everybody under
- 17:27Speaker 1: the buzz here thankfully, thankfully, he now has been arrested.
- 17:33Speaker 1: This is serious, This could change the royal family forever.
- 17:38Speaker 1: A question before the break is what's going to happen
- 17:40Speaker 1: to Sarah Ferguson. She's in big trouble. She has been.
- 17:44Speaker 1: As one of my friends said recently, I hated it,
- 17:46Speaker 1: but it's true. A grifter, a professional grifter for decades.
- 17:50Speaker 1: She's never had a job that would maintain the lifestyle
- 17:52Speaker 1: she lives. She lived rent free with her ex husband.
- 17:55Speaker 1: She's still enjoyed the HRH title for a very very
- 17:59Speaker 1: long time after that divorce. She was a member of
- 18:02Speaker 1: that royal family even after the divorce, and even though
- 18:05Speaker 1: she did stuff that bugged them, the weight watchers, the books,
- 18:07Speaker 1: she never upset them enough that they kicked her out.
- 18:10Speaker 1: So Sarah was always around. Prince Philip really disliked her,
- 18:13Speaker 1: the Queen's husband, so when he was alive, pushed down
- 18:16Speaker 1: a little bit, but always in the fold to a
- 18:18Speaker 1: certain extent. Now she has cut ties completely. She's with
- 18:24Speaker 1: her daughters. They were just in the Middle East together.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I'm told that she has rallied with her daughters. They fear.
- 18:30Speaker 1: They fear the worst because they know everything. Why are
- 18:33Speaker 1: you so scared? If he was innocent, you shouldn't be
- 18:35Speaker 1: so scared. They know everything. Sarah is going to be
- 18:39Speaker 1: difficult to charge because she never had official access to
- 18:42Speaker 1: these documents. Once again, he has not been arrested because
- 18:45Speaker 1: of any sexual misconduct allegations. This is about his time
- 18:50Speaker 1: working as a trade envoy in in Britain, and so
- 18:54Speaker 1: he is being arrested. I don't think Sarah is going
- 18:57Speaker 1: to be arrested, but I think in the court of
