- 12:07[SPEAKER_07]: W-18.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_07]: I'm 1240 W-18.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_07]: You're one of them.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, listen today in 1933, December 5th.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_07]: Prohibition ended with the adoption of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_07]: You know the, mmm.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_07]: 21st Amendment is unique among the amendments because it's the only time in American history where one amendment was passed in order to repeal another one and that was the 18th Amendment.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, and what's just here, 2020, that means it eight, yeah, 92 years.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_07]: Our good friends at Cole Sandies have been open since they got they were the first place to get a license when prohibition ended.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_07]: And they still have a pick on the wall.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_07]: George still plugging away.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_07]: He's talked to him recently.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_07]: Just renewed.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_07]: He's up for another, I don't know.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_07]: So, congratulations.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_07]: Just eight more years, Joe, and you got George, and you got to 100.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_07]: All right, eight more.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, let's see.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_07]: We got a caller here.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, you're on the show.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_07]: Mr. Smallon.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, hi.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_19]: Good afternoon.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_19]: It's Robert Smallon.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_20]: How are you?
- 13:18[SPEAKER_07]: Good assemblyman.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_07]: How are you?
- 13:19[SPEAKER_07]: I was a you down in John's town.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_20]: I am I'm down in the Mohawk Valley is where I'm from.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_07]: Well, you're running for Congress seeking the Republican nomination in what appears to be an upcoming primary with Mr. Constantine.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_07]: Both of you are from the Mohawk Valley, but to be candid, sir, a lot of people don't know who you are, so why don't you tell us.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_20]: Sure.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_20]: I'm assemblyman Robert Smallon.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_20]: I'm a 24-year Marine Corps veteran.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_20]: I currently represent the 118th Assembly District, which is Fulton Hamilton, Herkmer, Montgomery, Anita County.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_20]: I also used to represent part of the North Country in St. Lawrence County.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_20]: Before that, I was the executive director of the Hudson River of Black River Regulating District.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_20]: In fact, I used to have an office in Watertown.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_20]: We did a flood control that keep the rivers regulated.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_20]: So in the springtime, it didn't flood.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_07]: You must know Carol Wright didn't she work there?
- 14:18[SPEAKER_20]: She did actually she and I also know Senator Jim Wright as well.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_20]: We'd work together on a lot of projects with the dank to development authority of the North Country.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_07]: Well that's interesting.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_07]: So you have a familiarity with water town, but on the other hand, you're asking people up in Eastern Jefferson County and St. Lawrence and Lewis County's devote for you.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_07]: And what do you have to offer these people up here?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_20]: Well, what I've got is an entire lifetime that's been built on mission, on service, and putting other people first.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_20]: One of the things I want to do is to be a real servant leader for the people.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_20]: I think I've proved that in my assembly district.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_20]: I've ran four times now, the last three times I've been unopposed.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_20]: But more importantly, what people need to know about me is that I serve 24 years in the Marine Corps,
- 15:12[SPEAKER_20]: In fact, after 9-11, we were the first Marines to go into Afghanistan.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_20]: It was my unit.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_20]: We did the aerosol and the Ford operating base rhino, and we see end-to-horre airport after New York was so greedously attacked after on September 11th.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, well thank you for your service, first of all, and obviously you know the military plays a big part with things up here for drum, correct?
- 15:39[SPEAKER_20]: Yes.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_20]: That's right.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_20]: Every time that I was in Afghanistan, I served with soldiers from the 10th mountain division.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_20]: I'm very familiar with what goes on at the fore, but more importantly, what those young men and women do when they deploy all around the world.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_20]: I think that's why I would bring to the table that would be very important to know for the people in the water count area is that I would have the backs of the soldiers at fore drum and know exactly what's going on in their lives and how to take care of them and to make sure that they're successful.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_07]: Well, our county as you know is split between the 21st and the 24th, I'm on the 24th side, so, but, you know, it's nice to have two members of Congress, but you really need effective lobbying ability for something like drum, the St. Lawrence C-way, and certain other issues that are peculiar to this area, including dairy farming.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_20]: That's right.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_20]: I've spent a lot of my time in the state assembly working on rural issues among
- 16:41[SPEAKER_20]: knowing that agriculture is the number one industry in upstate New York in total.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_20]: It's really important to the people that's important to that someone knows the state-level issues and then be able to take our voice, our values to Washington on those very issues and that's something that I would definitely be able to do for the people of this district.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_07]: As I'm sure you're a very able campaign advisors know one aspect of a political racist opposition research and certainly the Democrats are not going to give you a pass on the events in 2018, and involved in a rest in a felony counterfiling false paperwork later, pleaded down to a misdemeanor, but had to do with claiming tax, allegedly claiming tax exemptions, veterans exemptions who weren't entitled to, do you want to
- 17:32[SPEAKER_20]: Well, please let me correct you.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_20]: It was not a pleated down to a misdemeanor.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_20]: It was a non-criminal violation.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_20]: OK.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_20]: In fact, all of the exemptions that I had were for my combat tours in Afghanistan.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_20]: So if that's all that my opponents are going to have to bring up, then there's really nothing there.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_20]: It was a mistake.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_20]: It was paid back, and that was that.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_20]: okay well i had to ask it uh... other things uh... now your family comes from what uh... stone business or paving or something like that well we were actually in masonry construction okay my family was a uh... uh... proud uh... small and family we were did all sorts of building projects in full and county for for decades uh... proud union
- 18:28[SPEAKER_20]: From the time I was a 12 year old to the time I left to join the Marine Corps when I was 22 years old.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_20]: I kind of joked that I had a 10 year career in masonry construction working for my family's business.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_20]: It's doing block brick stone, concrete, all sorts of things, building things have been during value.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_20]: It was a really great way to learn how to work.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_20]: It has still a very good work ethic in me.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_20]: and I know how small business is operate because I was part of my family's business growing up.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you probably followed events last winter when it looked like there might be a special election for this district.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_07]: And the Republican Party was just unable to coalesce around anyone.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_07]: And of course, that wasn't chosen through primary, it was through county chairs.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_07]: But are you the
- 19:13[SPEAKER_07]: I guess regular Republican candidate, you know the staphonic wing candidate, whatever you want to call it against Mr. Constantino.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_20]: Well, I got to say I'm the only Trump appointed conservative in this race.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_20]: I've run both on the conservative and the Republican lines.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_20]: President Trump actually appointed me to the President's Commission on White House Fellows in his first term.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_20]: Because he trusted my leadership and my commitment to America first principles.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_20]: That's what I mean when I say upstate first is what we're going
- 19:41[SPEAKER_20]: those principles just like at least the phonic is done you know for the last decade or so and I stand with president trump and at least for stronger borders a stronger economy stronger families that's the bread and butter of what I've worked on at least for the last six plus years in the in the state assembly lowering costs for families you know families are being crushed by inflation investing in our real economy infrastructure things like broadband supporting small businesses it's the very thing that I know all about
- 20:09[SPEAKER_20]: I'd be able to take that to Washington on behalf of the people of this district.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_07]: Now, of course, if things play out as we suspect, you'll be running in a Republican primary against Anthony Constantine, or the sticker mule guy.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_07]: He's a little more of an unorthodox candidate, but he has resources.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_07]: What do you think of him and how are you going to run against him?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_20]: Well, I can hit a tie.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_20]: You know, Jeff, I'm not going to spend the campaign responding to all of Anthony Constantino's lies.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_20]: Otherwise, I don't think I'd be doing anything else.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_20]: It seems he has a habit of projecting his own inadequacies on other candidates and he's already accusing me of all sorts of things.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_20]: He claims to be an original day one Trump supporter.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_20]: The truth is that he wasn't even registered to vote in this district and he never voted in the presidential primary in 2016 because he's
- 21:00[SPEAKER_20]: What during that time he was actually registered as a Democrat he was until recently he's been a Democrat But I would just I just want to say you know I was proud to vote for President Trump And the election in 2016 and every other election he was on the ballot and I've actually served in his administration President Trump took a bullet for the country Sure, or three combat tours and Afghanistan for this country Mm-hmm sounds like I said you know put out rap videos so I think that's everything that the voter he did know to compare us in the selection
- 21:30[SPEAKER_07]: Sounds like Anthony's been doing the opposition research already on him.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_07]: So the other Republican names get mentioned.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_07]: If you heard I've heard Mark Mollonero, others, is there someone else running you think or not?
- 21:46[SPEAKER_20]: Well, I do know for a fact that on the only sitting legislator that's actually running in this race, you know, I'm willing to put my reputation in my time and my resources.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_20]: you know people like to say if you want to go far you should go with friends if you want to go fast go alone I prefer to go very far with friends and I've been encouraged by a lot of people to run in this and I'm going to run the wind in this race.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_07]: If you win the primary, then you would have to face a Democrat.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_07]: I guess there's a little bit of contest going on on that side of the aisle, but it would certainly appear to me that Blake Jen to being is the most likely candidate.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_07]: He's had a head start.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_07]: He's been campaigning.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_07]: He's raised, you know, a fairly significant amount of money.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_07]: And what do you think of him?
- 22:33[SPEAKER_20]: Well, I certainly think that a race in the general election that I would win it.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_20]: Look, this district deserves a battle-tested service-driven conservative who reflects the values our voice, our values, and Washington, D.C., you know, I've worked for President Trump, a led troops in battle as a Marine Corps colonel, I've stood up for the last six and half years, the radical liberals in Albany, and now I'm ready for my next mission.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_20]: That's for fighting for Upstate New York in Congress.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_20]: That's what Upstate First Me.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, on national issues and I'm not going to try to go through all of them, but one of the ones in the news today are the blowing up of all those boats with a so-called narco terrorist or whatever you want to call them.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_07]: Are you comfortable with that when you watch it on TV?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_20]: I mean, I haven't seen the full video, I wasn't in that room where they showed
- 23:27[SPEAKER_20]: you know, all the classified videos of it.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_20]: And I'm very familiar with how those operations actually happened.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_20]: I was in them in the rear in the Marines, you know, 24 years, serving in the overseas, the serving in the Pentagon.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_20]: I know how these things work.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_20]: What I am comfortable with is making sure that these drugs don't get into the United States.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_20]: In fact, I have a bill that actually is going to provide sentinel education.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_20]: We've got an opioid epidemic, particularly sentinel, that's killing our kids.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_20]: And this is one thing that's happening, if we can stop the fentanyl from getting into the United States, that's a good thing.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_20]: But the other thing we need to do is to make sure that our kids don't accidentally ingest these poisons and kill pills.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_20]: Sure.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_20]: It's a terrible tragedy.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_20]: And I'm involved with a group called Sentinel Fathers, which is designed to do just that.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_20]: There's many things that need to be done on that front.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_07]: Well, nobody disputes the problems with drug abuse and wanting to stop this, but I guess the question with up blowing up these boats is, would some kind of interdiction be better?
- 24:28[SPEAKER_07]: I say a pro-triver they're going, or is it better to just blow them out of the water?
- 24:32[SPEAKER_07]: Because you're really killed about 86 people so far doing it.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah, I think that's, you know, the Department of War, it's an all of the above approach to this.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_20]: We'll see if it works and it actually reduces the amount of fentanyl that's coming
- 24:47[SPEAKER_20]: like I said, that's that's what's killing our kids.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_20]: That's what's got to be stopped.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, Democrats have gotten a little bit of wind at their backs lately with the November elections and, you know, a little bit down from Tennessee there, although they lost the race, but they seem pretty optimistic.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_07]: Hacking Jefferies seems optimistic.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_07]: And it is an off-year midterm election, which usually doesn't favor the incumbent White House party.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_07]: That wasn't look for you.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, it's an awfully thin margin.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah, no, I think it's looking very great.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_20]: You know, in fact, I think the voters of this district know that the send someone like me to Washington retired Rink or Colonel, who knows the veterans areas, but also has all the issues that they need is an aspirational servant leader.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_20]: That's exactly the kind of person that's sending Congress to go toe to toe with these radicals, make sure that our voice and our values is represented.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_20]: I'm a Marine, I'm a conservative, and I'm the only Trump appointed candidate in this race.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, and you're confident you can raise the money to be competitive?
- 25:56[SPEAKER_20]: Absolutely, we're well on our way.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_20]: Like I said, Mayor, if we want to go far, you're going to go with friends.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_20]: And that's exactly what I'm doing.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_20]: I encourage everybody to go to www.robertsmillinforcongress.com.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_20]: Take a look at my website.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_20]: and if they'd like to put a donation in there to help in the cause it would be a great thing.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, sounds good.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_07]: Anything else you want to add?
- 26:21[SPEAKER_20]: Well, I just want to know that for all the people out there, I'm from this area.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_20]: I'm a native to this district.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_20]: I've always been from here.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_20]: I did my service in the Marine Corps.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_20]: I've come home.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_20]: And my goal is to run for upstate values and take our mission to Washington DC, for upstate, for Trump and to take Robert Smallen for Congress.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_07]: All right, well, Colonel, thank you very much for your time and best of luck on the campaign trail.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_20]: Thanks so much.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_20]: You have a great day.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_07]: You too, by now.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_07]: That's Assemblyman Robert Smullin from the James or John Stown Harry.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_07]: Excuse me.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_07]: Down in the Mohawk Valley, he is one of two announced Republican candidates for Republican nomination for Congress in a 21st district, which includes part of Jefferson County in Lewis and
- 27:08[SPEAKER_07]: whatever friends we have in St. Lawrence County.

- 30:46[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, I'm 1240.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's interesting.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_07]: And I don't, unless somebody else gets in, doesn't smelling to get the default position as sort of the, uh, the Don Cooing type candidate, traditional Republicans, whatever they are.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_07]: Probably would, would, would,
- 31:06[SPEAKER_07]: with the mean girls and dorsum, I don't know.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_07]: I really don't know if anybody else is getting in.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_07]: There was talk that, one term congressman, Mark Mollonaro's had been touches county executive.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_07]: There was talk of him, but I haven't heard anything more.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sure there was a lot of chatter about it last night at that big event that Mr. Fonic attended down in the Skinac to the county that was sponsored by our good friend, Lee's Joy.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_07]: I don't really know.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, the Republicans had a lot of trouble coalescing last winter.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_07]: That's why that basically is why Stefani got pulled out of that UN job, because they didn't think they could hold the seat in a special, because it was so haphazard.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_07]: So, I don't know.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, I'm speaking of people who got into trouble on property transactions.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_07]: Are good buddy, Tisch James.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_07]: Call me Tisch.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, don't write.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_07]: Man, I'll call you Tisch.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_07]: Not Attorney General James.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_07]: Now, we've got to be more formal about it.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not like Sean Hannity, calling you Attorney General Pam.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_07]: God is it.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_07]: But his James says call me Tisch all the time.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_07]: So a little bit torn now.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_07]: But anyway, remember they had indicted her on this, uh,
- 32:28[SPEAKER_07]: falsely claiming primary residence or to get a better loan, she didn't really benefit that much rate wise off of it.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I don't know.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not sure.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_07]: Was that big a deal?
- 32:38[SPEAKER_07]: But it's technicality.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_07]: And, you know, she is attorney general.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_07]: So anyway, the indicted her and that that was vacated by a judge was not happy with the prosecuting attorney, whether she was properly appointed.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_07]: So another.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_07]: Federal prosecutor in another jurisdiction in Norfolk, uh, Norfolk, uh, Virginia went to a grand jury and they refused to indict.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_07]: And what was the last day?
- 33:06[SPEAKER_07]: They say a grand jury will indict a ham sandwich.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_07]: And this one refused to indict Tish.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_07]: So was she off the hook?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_07]: Well, maybe they can, you know, they can still appeal the original overturning of the first indictment.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_07]: I know you got this crowd.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_07]: It says, the law is the law and no one's above the law and all of that and she did fudge things a little bit.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_07]: Just let Tish go.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_07]: Let her go.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_07]: You know, she's well liked in New York.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_07]: Kind of like Trump, you know, her fans like her and they don't care about these little things.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't, you know, I just agreed with her on when she went after Trump.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_07]: The attorney general fulfills an important purpose and she's going to now this is over maybe she can come back here and fight for New Yorkers, who are unjustly treated by someone or something.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_07]: So, Tess, good to have you back in the saddle again.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, what else have we got going on if we can talk about to, um,
- 34:21[SPEAKER_07]: You know, besides, I didn't dwell in so much on that situation with Mr. Smallen.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_07]: Some journalists would try to play Gokcher, he knew I was going to ask it, but, you know, it is what it is.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, you think it's disqualifying, you won't vote for, most people don't care.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_07]: Somebody just texted in, good interview, Mayor.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_07]: They're all good on this show sir.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_07]: They're all good.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_07]: Right?
- 34:54[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, what else is going on today?
- 35:01[SPEAKER_07]: Don't Warner Bros. buys.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_07]: You know, Warner, oh, Netflix buys Warner Bros.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_07]: You can't really.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_07]: 27 billion dollars.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_07]: You know, these prices for everything is so high.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_07]: Remember when a million bucks was a lot of money?
- 35:21[SPEAKER_07]: Now it's chump change.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_07]: Yep.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_07]: Anything that pipe bomb case down in DC, all the J6, even with Chordle over that, never, that was just assumed that the pipe bombs were, were maga, but apparently they weren't.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe that's why they, I didn't mean it, Justice Department didn't really pursue it very much.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_07]: So.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_07]: And what else is going on?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_07]: Oh god, after the show here, I got to pick up some things.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_07]: Um... Well, let me see here.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_07]: I just got a text from an important newsman.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I can't put that on here, but it is interesting.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_07]: And all, let's see.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, as I mentioned today was the end of Prohibition.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, not many people remember that, but that was quite an experiment and everything.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_07]: There's still vestiges of it.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_07]: You know, all of the little laws you can do this can't do this open at this time, but not that time.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_07]: I was chuckle on Sunday morning.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_07]: I am usually over there doing payroll early, but you can't serve alcohol to 10, which I don't unless it's the welder or somebody coming and that's different.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_07]: But you know, and growing men come in on their way to or from the golf course or something and they just want to be here and you know, no, no, a state of New York says you can't have one, but you can go up to 711 and buy a 30 rack and drink them in your car.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_07]: So I mean, the vestiges of prohibition are not over, but the actual amendment itself is gone.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, Ron here.
- 37:25[UNKNOWN]: Good afternoon, Mayor.
- 37:26[UNKNOWN]: I'm all enjoying the sunshine today.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_08]: It feels really nice.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_07]: Good for you.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_08]: You mentioned about today being the end of prohibition.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_08]: An interesting fact was a lot of beer companies
- 37:42[SPEAKER_08]: by making roof beers and other sodas, but you to cook clob down and roll, I think us were their headquartered.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_08]: They made their first beer at midnight or shortly after.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_07]: They must have been brewing it for a little while before midnight, but they had a lot of people who were.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, there were a lot of people.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_07]: It must have been a mad scramble there to get back into the business.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_07]: You know, imagine if you're selling widgets for years and years and years and then all of a sudden, you know, some do-gooders decide widgets are illegal, so you can't sell them.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_07]: What do you do?
- 38:23[SPEAKER_08]: What do you do?
- 38:24[SPEAKER_07]: Not to be buying something different.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_07]: Of course, you had your temperance leagues and all those people and there was an interesting era that 1910s and all of that.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_08]: You know it's funny we came right and all of that arose well it was in the progressive era but it was uh... ready to end the world war one here people are getting back from the war and then they can't have a beer right so they're interesting story that's kind of the same way was there was a local a family that's been in the the grocery business for years and burn in depression
- 39:09[SPEAKER_08]: wrote up a bill and the people of the world money they didn't feel like they were friends anymore.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_08]: So Papa got to work together with his son and said well we're going to get our friends back.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_08]: We're going to burn all the bills and then we'll have all of our friends because they won't always any more money.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_08]: And so then the boy says the Papa, what are we going to do now, Papa?
- 39:37[SPEAKER_08]: We're going to go into a different business and the family is still local, they are still in business doing very well in business and I just don't want to, I don't feel a comparative mention their name over the air.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_07]: Well, thank you, though, for the insight and thank you for remembering prohibition.
- 40:01[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_07]: You're welcome.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_07]: Have a great day and a great Christmas.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_07]: I'll try you.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_07]: Yep, yeah, you don't have to say Merry Christmas, yeah, do we, when does that start when you have to say that when somebody leaves your home or business?
- 40:16[SPEAKER_07]: I would say more Christmas is on of what a Thursday this year.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_07]: I'd say starting a week before, maybe.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, the Friday before.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_07]: That would be appropriate.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_07]: But it's still too early.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_07]: We're in the, um,
- 40:35[SPEAKER_07]: sort of the in between period now between holidays but hopefully uh... things will perk up uh... let's see uh... you know isn't a good to have a talk show host it's not AI something or some processed person or something yeah well i i've enjoyed playing with around the AI and you just that you know
- 41:05[SPEAKER_07]: make up a new weather person for channel 7 or something like that and it's going to come to that in 10 years now these people you see now they won't be on the air or they are it'll be a some kind of computer generated version of themselves i don't know how i saw for you gets the essence of jeff cruel but i'm sure it could be done uh... but uh... yeah you're gonna see a lot of that it's a wave of the future
- 41:35[SPEAKER_07]: You know, there are a couple of people over that guy who does that website there about water town posters.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_07]: You know, he was kind of messing around with AI anchors, reading local stuff and things.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_07]: And just done it in formal basis, but still it, you know, that's not that far off.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_07]: If people can dabble in it like that.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_07]: You know, the corporate companies, the big media companies, you know, eventually, well, channel 7's owned by great television or fine company, a lot of stations around the country.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_07]: They don't need to have all these anchors and stuff.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_07]: They can have a cadre of AI anchors.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_07]: Exactly.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_07]: 755, 1240 is our phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today and we'll put you on to talk about whatever you want within the bounds of good taste.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_07]: Always staying within those bounds.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see, there was a fire over our stone street and apartment damage there.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_07]: Where's the bed?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_07]: Nothing else big here in water,
- 42:56[SPEAKER_07]: It's about it.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_07]: FBI has no Putin.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_07]: I'm so tired of Putin.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_07]: Get that war over.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_07]: Actually, we finally solved the war between Rwanda and the Congo.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, heads of both countries were at the White House yesterday.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_07]: I think it's great.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_07]: I think Trump is arguably done a good job or is it?
- 43:17[SPEAKER_07]: Administration has untrying to
- 43:20[SPEAKER_07]: settle some of these long-time flash points you know whoever nobody knows what they can go in the rwanda are who lives there but they are people and they were killing each other uh... i don't see any end in sight for the uh... Ukraine deal in Russia i mean of russia's winning ready or they think they're winning in some ways they are in some ways they are they're suffering debilitating losses
- 43:47[SPEAKER_07]: They're ostracized from the world and all of that, but on the other hand, you know, Putin was just an India this week, chat and no people up.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_07]: So it's not like they're out of the loop entirely.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, let's see.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, what else have we got going on?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, the work session canceled on Monday City Council work session.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_07]: They were supposed to have a meeting with some guy on about golf, somebody from Messina, and what I heard of three holdover members had that meeting virtually earlier this week.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_07]: So really, the other two don't need to be included in anything.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_07]: They can go to the last meeting on the 15th of regular business, and I'm sure the
- 44:45[SPEAKER_07]: They don't need to be participated in anything, you know.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_18]: Yep, not you or me.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_18]: more congressional seat, although there was a couple of things that I didn't agree with it one, but it's a military record very impressive, well spoken, issues the way you grew, what have you got, well that was pretty good.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_07]: What did you say, what did you say you didn't like?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I'm not going to go with that, because I'm not running against the racing like that, so I think he'd be a good candidate, I think he'd be a good representative.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I think he did a good job, he sounded good, I mean, reasonable, I'd be a good
- 45:43[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I don't have to vote for him anyway.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_18]: You know, last comment just before I call, you were talking about Trump's solving so many areas of war around the world.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_18]: That's why we're trying to get to no go-priced or anything.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_18]: But that's kind of humorous in a way, because look what he's leading the country up to and possibly into war with Venezuela.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_18]: This is not pretty good.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_18]: This whole thing was Venezuela, they got another vote for yesterday.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I don't agree with it.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_18]: I mean, you know, number 23, number 23, and we still have no proof or evidence, no proof or evidence that those were drug carrying votes.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_18]: We don't have that.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_18]: The only thing we have is people who are as far as this word for it, that word for it, what have you.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_07]: Well, even if they were carrying drugs, if they're outside the three-mile limit, how can you charge them anyway because it's not illegal to have drugs on the water?
- 46:50[SPEAKER_18]: I think that the easiest solution would have been, and I heard some experts, people smarter than me would say, why didn't we just have a co-star to go out there and seize the votes, seize the products, and seize those drugs or have it in the prosecutor?
- 47:05[SPEAKER_18]: I'm not sure you can really seize them on the open seas.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, isn't that what happened in 1902 or something with a pressing sale?
- 47:22[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I agree.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_07]: They're killing them.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, crime.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, we're really, I mean,
- 47:31[SPEAKER_18]: to say they were coming to our shores, and we're going to see them search them in pipeline.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_18]: If they're okay, we'll let them go if I'm not going to cross here with that.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not sure where they caught, where they bring that to, whether there's an intermediate island they go to or what.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_07]: I suspect so, I don't think they're landing on a beach in Fort Lauderdale.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_18]: But the offshoot of that is blowing them out of water, and particularly that one, whether it was supposed to even get to a video and you're seeing that now right now.
- 48:02[UNKNOWN]: Search Tom Cotton, he's going to be off his rocker.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_18]: He shouldn't, or I saw the video through it.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_18]: Look, he likes to return the gold over and capture his boat and continue with that.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_18]: That is the most crazy thing I ever heard anybody say, but come from him, I get sick.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_18]: We're just saying with a hand shift and the policy and the AG, Mr. Tom, they're by backing.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_18]: on and on.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_18]: This is really a bad image.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_18]: Not only the image, it's bad as an international law.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_07]: Now, this is not without precedent, though.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, President, since the last 20-30 years have been shooting cruise missiles in and killing people.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_18]: Well, that's true.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_18]: That's true.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_18]: That's true.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_18]: The men, people, we've been in case with the wars, whatever.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_18]: We know that Iran, for example, is backing the
- 48:58[SPEAKER_18]: the terrorist in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they were against us, but that's justifiable to the circuitry.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_18]: But just these boats in international order, I, and without any proof, without any proof or evidence that they were drug swugglers, that's a, this is a pretty bad book country.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_18]: And head to head chef, that's got to go.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_18]: He has to go.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't like him on Fox.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_18]: I'm sorry.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_07]: I didn't like him when he was on Fox.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_18]: at least we don't have any admiral's wearing dresses anymore that's a good thing all right thanks a lot by now already a good afternoon right here
- 49:56[SPEAKER_19]: Just listen to Mr. Francis, give all the immigrants all the rights in the world, you know.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_19]: That's the Democratic voice right there.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_19]: They want to give everybody that's not in this country, right?
- 50:09[SPEAKER_19]: To bring drugs in this country and kill our children.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_19]: And how come does he know these orders are coming from the Pentagon?
- 50:20[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I'm sure they are.
- 50:21[UNKNOWN]: These are direct orders from the Pentagon.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_19]: Did they have all the information they need?
- 50:28[SPEAKER_19]: Are you not listening to what people are, what the, you know, the administration is saying that we know what these people are, we know where they live, we know everything about them.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_19]: It's the cartiles, mistresses, the telling the right people.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_19]: Much less should we give them rights to come in this country and kill 200,000 of our citizens.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_19]: We should put him on a trial and say, okay, well, we didn't give you 12 years in our federal prison, and we're going to feed you, and we're going to call you, and we're going to do everything for you.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_19]: Just, you know, just because you deserve rights.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_19]: I just don't understand his thinking right now.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_19]: I really don't.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_07]: I don't either.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_07]: Let's not pick on Danny there.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_07]: What else is on your mind?
- 51:13[SPEAKER_19]: And he's just called your son and he signed that he signed a save that these people who are shoveling all kinds of drugs in this country Okay, okay.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, we understand the issue Hey, and I just wanted to say something else too because you mentioned on your show about how everybody gets a pair And you know and this and that and that and okay You gave him a song ball interview yesterday.
- 51:38[UNKNOWN]: That was horrible.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, okay.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that
- 51:43[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_07]: Oh my god.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_07]: Don't pick on me too much.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_07]: Can we take this call?
- 51:52[SPEAKER_07]: We can do it real quick.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_07]: Go ahead.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_09]: Oh real quick.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_09]: Well.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, okay.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_09]: Danny conveniently forgets the estimates of how many people we have lost to fentanyl around 300,000.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_09]: of died from fentanyl and dead is the last four years.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, Danny wants to conveniently forget that just do what we were doing Danny, which is nothing and let people die.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_09]: Danny wants to play the party line thing, which is what we'd expect.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_07]: How much of those outboards cost?
- 52:32[SPEAKER_07]: Those 400 horses, seven routes, whatever they are.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_07]: They got like four of them across.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_09]: Those are, you know, those are a million dollar bus boats.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_09]: And, you know, he says there's nothing on him.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_09]: Daddy, if you look at the picture, Danny, look at the picture.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_09]: That all these barrels of chemicals and stuff.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_09]: Gotcha.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_09]: And there it is.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_09]: I'm gonna come on.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_09]: I mean, in a perfect world, yeah, we bring it.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_09]: Give him a more lawyer, but...
- 53:06[SPEAKER_07]: I know.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_07]: Well, Gary, I got a run because I got a break to do.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_07]: Alright, thank you.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_07]: Bye now.

- 56:17[SPEAKER_13]: The North Country spells news AM-1240.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_13]: Watertown.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_07]: Depend on it.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_07]: Depend on it, indeed.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_07]: I'm 1240.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_07]: Well, there you go.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_07]: 22 degrees in Watertown right now.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_07]: And we expect mostly sunny skies to continue to eat.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_07]: Not a bad day.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_07]: It's a winchery day, though.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_07]: I have 25.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_07]: It's still not winter yet, you know.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, mostly cloudy tonight, not as cold, low of 17.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_07]: Tomorrow, chance of snow showers, high around 35.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_07]: So that could be kind of sloppy.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_07]: And it cools off again.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_07]: I have 25 on Sunday, and 16 is the high on Monday.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_07]: So these are, I think you ever tried temperature for today would be 35, normally.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_07]: Statistically, I read that somewhere.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_07]: So where I've settled degrees below that, and you know, that happens.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_07]: We had days this summer that were above average.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_07]: So we go both ways, obviously.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_07]: But it's kind of good to get a little dose of winter here with bitter cold and snow just to kind of get in that mode where you're used to dealing with it.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_07]: Because you're going to have to for what?
- 57:44[SPEAKER_07]: So, you know, at least we're kind of conditioned to it now.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_07]: Whatever happens from here on in, I don't know.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_07]: We could have some big storms, little storms, no storms.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_07]: But at least it's not one of those early December's where it's kind of warm and you're thinking it's fall and you're not ready for winter.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_07]: So, it looks like we're gonna.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_07]: And are we predicting a white Christmas?
- 58:08[SPEAKER_07]: Are we?
- 58:09[SPEAKER_07]: I am.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_07]: I think it's going to be a white Christmas temperatures next 10 days or chilly and I don't see that turning.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_07]: So I think we're going to have a white Christmas.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_07]: Well, nothing wrong with that.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_07]: Nothing wrong with that at all.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_07]: 7, 5, 5, 12, 40.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_07]: We've got media.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_07]: We could take a short phone call if somebody was so inclined, but a lot of times people aren't.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_07]: They want to talk.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_07]: Um... Who's a headline?
- 58:44[SPEAKER_07]: Mother demands justice says high school assistant principal put his lips on my son.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_07]: What is that?
- 58:50[SPEAKER_07]: Is that local?
- 58:53[SPEAKER_07]: No, that's in Geneva, New York.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_07]: Huh!
- 59:01[SPEAKER_07]: Well, that's kind of a weird thing.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_07]: He's, I don't know.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_07]: The assistant principal when I was in school was Mr. Sky, he ever kissed me.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_07]: He didn't do that kind of stuff back in the back of those days.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, just didn't do it.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_07]: Different era.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_07]: Different era.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_07]: Alrighty.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_07]: Um...
- 59:33[SPEAKER_07]: I guess I'd just about does it for today.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_07]: It's been a good week.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_07]: We had some good interviews.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_07]: Hopefully inform the public a little bit.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_07]: That's it.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_07]: That's a grand curry.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_07]: I'll be in at five o'clock today.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_07]: Did you know that?
- 59:54[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, grand curry with the live at five show.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_07]: And then I'll be back on Monday with another hotline.
