- 2:11Welcome to episode 1 of united. We scan my our voices may sound
- 2:17familiar but we'll go ahead and do the introductions.
- 2:20I'm Kirsten and tonight we have Bill Josh and Mike with us.
- 2:24Go ahead and say hi Bella. Did we lose Bill?
- 2:36I'm here. Drum roll.
- 3:07Yes. Let's try to have some fun.
- 3:19Josh run away. Yeah.
- 3:46Once we get the ball rolling and get ARP a, you guys can let us
- 3:51know what you want to hear talk about, you know, definitely will
- 3:54probably be doing the recorded episodes at least through the
- 3:57holidays because we know our schedules.
- 3:59Well yeah, aren't too friendly at the moment.
- 4:05And hopefully after the holidays.
- 4:06After the first year, maybe we can go ahead and start putting
- 4:09some lives on once in a while. Well, the schedules easy, you
- 4:16get up, you go to work you, come home, you eat, you go to bed,
- 4:20you get up, go to work, come home.
- 4:22Eat, you gonna pay? And that's why we're all on and
- 4:26that's why we're all sitting at home on a Sunday evening doing
- 4:29the recording because we couldn't do it any other time of
- 4:32the week we've tried. Or when we got back, I can't
- 4:43think of anything. So it's like that me my poster
- 4:47that said, you know, this is the season where we kiss, our
- 4:49families get by and say, we'll see you in January and they're
- 4:52not right. No, they are not.
- 4:58I pull forty eight and a half hours in five days.
- 5:03It's to the point in our office that we're so short already.
- 5:07I mean you know that they have this new thing about you have to
- 5:11be comfortable overall Parcels by 7 p.m. and you have to be off
- 5:16the street. No later.
- 5:18No later than 8:30 and and I just started laughing, it's like
- 5:23well how the hell you gonna accomplish your mission if those
- 5:27your parameters but we can't meet them folks.
- 5:33Yeah. It's it's going to be an
- 5:35interesting. Yeah.
- 5:38My office is I and I suppose a lot of offices are doing this.
- 5:41So I know it's not uncommon is allowing carriers to come in at
- 5:47six. Our start time is 8, so they're
- 5:50allowing carriers to come in at six and allowing them to run
- 5:54Parcels for two hours. they can't touch any may, you know,
- 5:59if you come in at six, you can only do Parcels, you can't touch
- 6:02any mail, you can't case anything, you can't do anything
- 6:06like that, you can only run parcels and When I when I became
- 6:13regular two years ago I took advantage of that I started
- 6:17doing that and then I found that and even last year I didn't find
- 6:21the parcel load to be too awful bad that I couldn't get my route
- 6:27done. In you know that the nine-hour
- 6:31eval without, if I didn't, if not not doing it, I could still
- 6:37get done within eval. So I stopped doing it because I
- 6:39just it just messed me up too much.
- 6:42So last year the couple times I came in early to do that, I went
- 6:49picked out what the parcels from the neighborhood.
- 6:52I was going to run loading the truck and there was another
- 6:55truck parked in front of me because we don't have the
- 6:58Parking spaces in our lot. And no one seemed to be able to
- 7:02know where the key was. So I couldn't leave building
- 7:05anyway now. So, I just started kissing me.
- 7:10Now everybody got that alleged email from that alleged outfall,
- 7:13didn't they yes? Yes we did, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 7:23Get you want to start complaining and breathing that?
- 7:29Well here's our thing. Specially I living in North
- 7:31Eastern, Michigan is, you know, the roads get slick and icy.
- 7:38And I'm in an area where if you're rolling up on somebody's
- 7:40house at 6, a.m. they may meet you at the door with a shotgun.
- 7:45Yeah, you know, or it's so I see and unsafe and dark out there.
- 7:51I've delivered early in the mornings like that, and I know,
- 7:54every single one of the carriers are my office prefer not to
- 7:58anyone in the past. We've always had at least the ox
- 8:00carrier, was able to go provide existence.
- 8:03But, you know, now that we only have two RCA's myself and one
- 8:08other one and I am running the Oxford.
- 8:12My rocks are out with every other route in the office.
- 8:15We don't have that extra person to help when do assistance with
- 8:18packages. No, no people don't disappear.
- 8:22They don't exist anymore. Exactly.
- 8:27After worried, all the way we're coming back now.
- 8:33No, not my office now. Yeah, we have the same problem,
- 8:40because, you know, we have, we have 50 routes in my 50 routes
- 8:45between my two opted to offices, my town.
- 8:47We have 50 routes. And now we're down to.
- 8:52I think I heard we're down to 13.
- 8:55Leave Replacements. So we just had well my RC a
- 9:02transfer to another office. We had another RCA Jump ship and
- 9:09went to became a PSE. And I think I heard that there
- 9:16was another one quit or his last day was last Friday, the day
- 9:23before day before yesterday. Yeah, well we're we're in a
- 9:29similar boat here. I and I'm guessing I haven't
- 9:35seen a seniority with and so long to to know what the numbers
- 9:38are. I think we're at about 50 RCA's
- 9:44Maybe. 15 to 20 pts for 260 routes.
- 9:54Give or take a few, right? So but I was that I was taking
- 10:02doesn't matter, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was I was
- 10:07telling something. When I what I transferred to
- 10:09this office, six years ago it always seemed like we were at.
- 10:15We always seem to somehow be able to maintain like 50 when I
- 10:19got here. We had 42 routes and 42.
- 10:23RC He and 21 RCA's. We always seem to be right
- 10:26around 50 percent and that you know sometimes a little more
- 10:31sometimes a little less than that always that 50%.
- 10:34More number seem to be worked pretty good for us.
- 10:39But you know here recently you know when we lost FSS and 26 of
- 10:48our routes what overburdened and you know we just Suddenly grew
- 10:54in Leaps and Bounds, we had in a two year period.
- 10:58We had 66 leave Replacements become regulars in 2 years.
- 11:05Yeah, and I just don't know and I don't know.
- 11:09I we don't have a current seniority list of either and I'm
- 11:12not sure. I'm not sure when folks are
- 11:15preparing to are going to get going to retire.
- 11:19I know that my case neighbor says she's got like three more
- 11:22years and then she's gone. Let's leave the post office
- 11:28mates it to those three years. Yeah yeah yeah let me know it.
- 11:34Somebody overheard a conversation with a district
- 11:39manager and they blatantly just said I don't know that we can
- 11:46meet these objectives or goals for Christmas.
- 11:50And not realistic. Well, you know, here's the thing
- 11:56I was, I was picking my car up from the shop the other day
- 11:59after work and they were, haven't they?
- 12:02The TV station, they had the local news on and they were
- 12:05talking about the Christmas and they were hiring for that.
- 12:10They had enough seasonal, help for this, for the, for the
- 12:13holidays and they were tapped. And I've said this before, they
- 12:18keep touting this number, They've converted all of these,
- 12:23whatever you want to call them non-career, pre career
- 12:26part-time, we've converted, all of these non-career employees to
- 12:32Career positions, and I'm like, well, that that's nice that you
- 12:38have more people getting full-time benefits but that
- 12:41doesn't address the labor shortage.
- 12:43No, you know, there's they're still, you know, you know, we're
- 12:49still short. Art, you know, whatever it is if
- 12:53we're down to 13, there were down to them.
- 12:55Were short 30. We were down like 37 RCA's in
- 12:59our office. Hmm.
- 13:03So Said, well, yeah, but we converted some of them to PT F.
- 13:07So it's like, well, okay. If you're saying that that
- 13:11covers, you know, we have, I think we have 6 PTs in our
- 13:14office now and between the two offices.
- 13:16So if you're safe, you give them each five routes, that covers
- 13:2230, is that what you're saying? So those, those are covered And
- 13:27that's no, no no that doesn't make sense.
- 13:30Go and they're on the right side of the table and you fly them
- 13:39over to the left. okay, even though you still have four
- 13:44beans, they're better off better off than what?
- 13:49Yeah, well better off than they were before, but you're still
- 13:52screwed. It's to you're thinking of in a
- 13:55negative way. Oh, really.
- 13:58Looking at it. Realistically, I thought it was
- 14:00just me and I thought I was just applying comments out.
- 14:03Damn it Derek. Yeah.
- 14:04JC wait. We all know, we all know if it
- 14:11makes sense, the federal government does the opposite.
- 14:18Yeah, you would you would think I've worked with the government
- 14:20long enough to know that as a say, your veterans out there but
- 14:23do that too. That's it doesn't have to make
- 14:26sense. I was just
- 14:54Jumbo shrimp, you know, they're just small.
- 14:55You idiot. Yeah.
- 14:59But yeah, you years ago, I got caught.
- 15:02I put a sign on our door. It said common sense and common
- 15:05courtesy stop here. Sounds about, right?
- 15:12Yeah. I got in a little trouble for
- 15:15that one. You know.
- 15:17I would not keep those laughing. It didn't matter.
- 15:20Yeah. But right folks, I mean, you
- 15:27know, you can't cry about it because it doesn't help, you
- 15:31know, no, I've gotten, I found this, I found this posted one
- 15:40day and a Facebook page that post a related, but it really
- 15:46kind of described exactly where I'm at right now.
- 15:50And let me find it. Here it is.
- 15:53It's called fuck strated. When you're so frustrated that
- 15:57you're truly, don't give a fuck. That is where I am at right now
- 16:01and have been. I mean last Monday, when I
- 16:04walked into the office and I saw what I was walking into on that
- 16:0748k route. I'm just like at that point.
- 16:11I'm like, yeah, if I don't get all the office till noon, it is
- 16:14what it is. You know, at this point it's
- 16:18there's nothing more. I can do, you know, we just take
- 16:21out strike but yeah, I was like this is this right?
- 16:25I hear this explains it when you're so frustrated that you
- 16:29truly don't give a fuck. And that's exactly where I'm at
- 16:33right now. Yeah.
- 16:35Yeah, I was, I was that I was that way.
- 16:37I mean, this political season it wasn't as bad as I mean, it was.
- 16:42I mean, it got bad. It got ridiculous with the
- 16:44number of ads and everything, it was the same, but Einsteins
- 16:48Brewing, over my office. Yes.
- 16:50Yeah, same here. But it just got to the point
- 16:55that's like, Look, I basically have by the time I do these.
- 17:01It's it's like having a full coverage.
- 17:03Yeah. So I just started casing, casing
- 17:07them all up, casing everything up.
- 17:09And then just basically saying look if I case everything up,
- 17:14Regardless of how long it takes me to the office, I'll be back
- 17:17in about three three to four hours now were you getting yours
- 17:20that were coming in? Reverse order to Some are I had
- 17:28a couple? I mostly they would come in in,
- 17:31in route order, in DPS, order. I had a couple from the same
- 17:37groups that always seem to come in, in reverse order.
- 17:40Yeah. Some say, it was usually the
- 17:42same ones, the same groups, the same.
- 17:45Yeah, political action committees, and we're sending
- 17:47those out. We're from the last box up that
- 17:52of corn. Mhm.
- 17:58What was that? I said, most of mine were coming
- 18:01in. Reverse order.
- 18:02The last box first and the bottom was the first box.
- 18:07No. Yes.
- 18:11But you know it's like we were saying before we got on before
- 18:17we started recording, I've already been mandated for
- 18:21Friday's Mike a day and I've already been mandated to work
- 18:24next Friday. And I'm probably just going to
- 18:31go ahead and just just plan on working my Fridays throughout,
- 18:37you know, and you know, we may as well they're going to, you
- 18:40know, it's our five money anyway so I may as well may as well do
- 18:46it. But that's the funny part
- 18:49because, you know, I'm not on the overtime list.
- 18:52So, of course, I would naturally quit, you know, an artery in
- 18:57there. Tell me.
- 19:00But you can't use our three, get some wine options would because
- 19:03it's automatically defaulted to our fight.
- 19:06Yeah. And I said what, and they said
- 19:09yeah. It's it's a it's a bad
- 19:11situation. No kidding.
- 19:13They're just paying us. The overtime period.
- 19:15Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:17And I And I posted that on. I asked that question in rural,
- 19:20carrier group on Facebook, you know, would you, would you
- 19:24rather just just do away with our three and just have, just if
- 19:30you work your relief day, just get our five, just get the
- 19:33money, well, wouldn't you? Wouldn't you like them to get
- 19:36rid of the fsla? So we don't have to sit there
- 19:39and worry about, you know, paying back time.
- 19:43Well, yeah, this year I didn't, they actually paid me $667.
- 19:48And 64 cents. Because ice evaluations.
- 19:53Yeah. Well I wasn't, I didn't get
- 19:58anything back. I didn't know anything either
- 20:00but I I was I managed. I managed to you know use enough
- 20:05leave to stay under. So I don't play that game.
- 20:09Yeah. Luckily I have not had 2020 80
- 20:13or 20 to 40 issues at all. Oh, I don't either.
- 20:18They just pay me. Yeah, it's not an issue.
- 20:21I'm saying I haven't I haven't come close enough that they are
- 20:29like oh you need to start taking time?
- 20:31No, I haven't I have had that either just just from natural
- 20:35you know, taking a day here taking a day.
- 20:38They're taking advantage of the fact.
- 20:40I did have an RCA and not working my day off when I when I
- 20:44did. But on Facebook and one of the
- 20:48groups of couple weeks ago as also one that posted that their
- 20:53supervisor told them they weren't 2080.
- 20:58Trouble. Alright projected.
- 21:12We all know that that's, you know, I mean what good that,
- 21:17that is what blue could that projection is right now?
- 21:21You know, we say to that object, this motherfucker.
- 21:27Yeah, you know, it's when you have to and you know, I do have
- 21:31the smallest office compared to you guys obviously with six
- 21:35regular routes and one, Ox route.
- 21:37And but still with the only have two RCA's and you have 4K routes
- 21:43to J routes and and the ox and what and to of the K routes of
- 21:48the RCA's. I have the five and one with my
- 21:50ox. And I have my POV Primary in
- 21:54which is funny is because since I got back from National when my
- 21:59regular went full-time on that route and I stepped up and took
- 22:03the ox route. I had only ran my primary route
- 22:08once in two months up until this past week.
- 22:13And yeah, I had not ran my route in two months that my primary
- 22:17route I should say because I've been running everybody else's
- 22:21routes in covering everybody else's routes literally.
- 22:26And yeah. So it was weird actually to be
- 22:29out on my old primary route, which I used to work so much
- 22:32under the now, we're retired regular and I did have I had a
- 22:37few people say, wow, it's great to see you back in.
- 22:39Like I don't know where the heck I was I'm like yeah.
- 22:42I don't know when I'll get to see you again, but it was nice
- 22:44seeing you and I had that. I ended up running at three days
- 22:49last week regular took a Tuesday off.
- 22:53He, he had some sick, leave. It was still built up because
- 22:56he's still in this first 90 days from designated 79 before.
- 23:00So he did have some sickly if he took a one day because he needed
- 23:04a day off and low, man on the totem pole gets forced to work
- 23:09and Wednesday. I was looking forward to just
- 23:13doing my Ox route and going home and have an easy day and he
- 23:17ended up getting into an accident on the route, the
- 23:19beginning of the rout so calls me.
- 23:22I was the first phone call he made.
- 23:24Yeah, yeah. All right, Mike.
- 23:27I thought it was maybe me but yeah, it is my audio.
- 23:36Thank you, Josh, I'm glad you're welcome.
- 23:42Hey, you want to know what karma is ladies and gentlemen?
- 23:47Karma is being on vacation this upcoming week up to the next
- 23:51Tuesday. Leaving a shitload of mail for
- 23:54your sub, which we don't have. And then catching covid on
- 23:58Sunday. Oh my god.
- 24:01Oh jeez. I feel so sorry for that.
- 24:05Son of a bitch. Wow enjoy your vacation
- 24:09motherfucker. We want to go down, come on.
- 24:16Yeah. You know, you're going to be
- 24:18gone for the next nine days and you got to pull that bullshit.
- 24:24Well, like I said, it's only covid if you test for it, right?
- 24:30The flu or the other respiratory thing that's going around.
- 24:36What the flu? No no.
- 24:38There's something else the RSV. Yeah, the wife
- 24:55wants the report. I heard there that they think
- 24:57that because of all of the Social distancing and isolation
- 25:07that it's bad because of all the isolation is distancing that we
- 25:11are not out experiencing these bugs or catching these bugs from
- 25:17just the normal stuff and that's why the you're not getting the
- 25:21exposure. Yeah, that's why.
- 25:23That's why it's spiking so bad this year.
- 25:26No. Over the organism burn earlier.
- 25:31You know, regards to like you. Look at the last two years.
- 25:33The blue has been non-existent. Yeah, of course, you look
- 25:39better. Well everyone's from wearing
- 25:43masks or isolating or keeping their distance or everyone so no
- 25:49one was starting it. But this year now that
- 25:53everything's quote and quote, just about back to normal.
- 25:58It's probably going to be, you know, outrageous.
- 26:02The numbers. I don't know.
- 26:05I think I'm catching it. I'm Not Afraid.
- 26:08Are there every had it twice. Oh, I just I just drink a lot so
- 26:15I don't care. Yeah, I don't think I've had it.
- 26:22Although, I will tell the story that I came down with a came
- 26:26down with a sore throat and I had it for a week, the kind of
- 26:30sore throat that you feel like you're swallowing glass.
- 26:34Oh, and I hate those and After about a week, I went to my
- 26:41doctor and I said, you know, barely able to talk all that
- 26:45good stuff and they examined me. They looked at, yep.
- 26:50Your throats inflamed. Yep.
- 26:51Your your, your your, your nodes are in are swollen.
- 26:55What do you want to do? Is that I just want to feel
- 26:57better. And they wrote me a pretty and
- 27:02they wrote me a prescription for antibiotics and imprint, and a
- 27:07steroid. To help with the inflammation.
- 27:12They didn't test me for covid. They did not test me for strep
- 27:15throat. They just wrote me, two Scripts.
- 27:19And, you know, took those and, you know, after after about two
- 27:23days, like my, I start feeling a lot better.
- 27:26I finished the program. I was, I was over it.
- 27:29I had a co-worker who said she had the same symptoms and tested
- 27:33and she had covid like, well, What the hell am I?
- 27:39A bad guy for not going and getting tested.
- 27:43You know, I don't know. I didn't ask, I didn't ask, I
- 27:47didn't ask for the test and they didn't volunteer to give it to
- 27:49me. So, You remind me of the Amish
- 27:53people. go ahead, ask Why are you hiding?
- 27:59You feel like the Amish people bill because if you don't watch
- 28:03the news you can't catch it. Yep.
- 28:07You know. that just now saying, you know, I'm just I just, I
- 28:17really don't, I really don't think we want to get into like
- 28:20like a political discussion here and this, but it just, it just
- 28:26I'm just amazed at how quickly people were willing to how
- 28:36willing people were to use this to take control and how willing
- 28:42people were willing to give up. Control over there.
- 28:46There their lives. Yeah, over this.
- 28:50I mean there was a there was a point where I was when it first
- 28:53came out they said well, two billion people are going to die
- 28:55from this. I said okay, well maybe we
- 28:58should be a little more cautious about this.
- 29:01But when it was they kept somebody said nope, they're just
- 29:05going to keep pushing it. They're just going to keep
- 29:07pushing it back and pushing it back.
- 29:08We got to keep doing stuff and and after the first pushback I
- 29:12said that the right I'm not gonna be scared of this.
- 29:14It's just how scared do you want to be of this?
- 29:19So now, and I say that because I know people who have died I
- 29:27think we all do. I think we all do, the co I
- 29:31co-worker lost her husband to it.
- 29:34But again, he had my understanding is he had
- 29:37comorbidity. So he had some of those other
- 29:39things that made, it made him more susceptible, you know?
- 29:44It put one of my sisters-in-law in the ICU for two weeks.
- 29:48So there was a disease out there that was causing problems.
- 29:51Okay, I and I am by no means trying to say.
- 29:55Oh that oh this didn't exist. All it's all made up and know
- 30:00there was something out there. But people took advantage I
- 30:04think that people took advantage of this.
- 30:07This Disease being out there. This thing that was making
- 30:12people sick Right? I can argue that one.
- 30:16No, I mean, you know and you know, I'll tell you what,
- 30:21there's several times that I didn't feel all, you know, get
- 30:25the in shit and you know, you know, I still want to work but
- 30:29the thing of it is that, you know, it was no different to me
- 30:33than than if I caught the flu, you know.
- 30:37And you know, I felt no, no no more pain or eggs or anything
- 30:43else then I I would is if I had the flu.
- 30:47The oh, you know what? Well, I got it in September.
- 30:54The flu. I had team three years ago was a
- 30:57lot worse than that. And I went and got tested and
- 31:02then I stayed home work because I didn't want to give it to
- 31:07others because we had a quite one of our clerks, each
- 31:1070-something years old. She got it.
- 31:13I think last year she was out for like, two, two and a half
- 31:16months. yeah, for those that don't know, there was a little
- 31:39bit of a parting gift from a National Convention again this
- 31:43year for some, we'll see what happens next year, back in,
- 31:49Grand Rapids. Hopefully it's not a repeat of
- 31:51the Grand Rapids from 2018. Yeah, there's disease actually,
- 31:57it was H1N1, but yeah, I mean, we yeah, covid actually was a
- 32:03bit of a parting gift for for many National Convention.
- 32:07I was one of the lucky ones that again did not get sick.
- 32:12So even though two of the people I roomed with to get it I was
- 32:20lucky enough not to Yeah, and you're talking about the people
- 32:25who've been out a bit, you know, I always taken consideration how
- 32:30many people have played this system too.
- 32:33Oh yeah. It was funny as hell for six
- 32:41weeks. And I'm sitting there going God,
- 32:45this must be really bad that then I found out who it was,
- 32:49nice it out, okay? That makes sense.
- 32:53You know, I mean, we're talking about people who take advantage
- 32:56of the system. These two are at the top of your
- 32:58lips and, you know, it didn't even seem out of the ordinary
- 33:04that somebody said, well, they've been out as like no
- 33:06shit. I mean, yeah, that makes as much
- 33:11sense as saying, you know, it's going to rain today.
- 33:14It's a possibility. We had one of our city carriers
- 33:20Supervisor was telling me they put in for the dependent care.
- 33:24You know, sit home and the carrier wasn't showing up on
- 33:29Saturday. So wait a minute.
- 33:31What would you do on a Saturday for the school.
- 33:33Wasn't out at the school wasn't closed. that that save, is that
- 33:42the guy who called out because he had childcare problems at
- 33:45home and it was a Saturday, well, Under normal circumstances
- 34:00you would have had to find something going on the weekend.
- 34:03Yeah, so get your ass to work. Is that pretty much what they
- 34:07do. Changing gears a little bit.
- 34:16Something recently. Friday, I got the email from UPS
- 34:21saying it was going to be delivered today by 9 p.m.
- 34:25Via the post office. And it has a big button that
- 34:30says track your package. So I click that and as of a few
- 34:36minutes ago it's still saying label created.
- 34:44Yep. That means your shipper hasn't
- 34:56shipped it yet. Yeah.
- 35:02Yep, that's what that means. We can stop looking for it.
- 35:08It's all get there when it gets there.
- 35:10Yeah, yeah. But we don't.
- 35:13Yeah. Oh, I almost did get in trouble
- 35:16the other day to do, get in trouble.
- 35:19Bill, really? All right?
- 35:21I know, I know, I know, I'm glad it was sitting.
- 35:23Yeah, when you said that, Non post office packages.
- 35:42Aren't ya non post office, the ups fdle's and all the other
- 35:48ones were not supposed to bring them back anymore.
- 35:51Well, I was doing this route. That's dad.
- 35:53Is down the carrier. I brought back. 23 package.
- 35:59Oh my gosh. So so of course, being, I take
- 36:07him back to where he was supposed to be in this throwback
- 36:10are here and the supervising sitting there going Phil I
- 36:13thought we have a directive. Not to I said yeah, I'm not
- 36:16listening to it but it's a prestige.
- 36:21That's no director. Can send it back to the shipper
- 36:26to read your liver? Yeah, well, she says, the boom
- 36:29said to do this. I said, I'm not listening to him
- 36:31either. You know, we, we had a carrier
- 36:36recently and I like, so we don't have a lot of this issue in my
- 36:40area. But recently, we had a carrier,
- 36:42bring a FedEx package that FedEx had dropped off and mailbox.
- 36:48It was one of those houses where the boxes on Run Road.
- 36:50They live down the little It'll to track road down there and so
- 36:55she brings it going. What the hell it was in my box,
- 36:58taking up room for my stuff. And it's a, no, you did the
- 37:02right thing by bringing it back. And then the next day,
- 37:06supervisor postmaster, look at it and they're like, well, what
- 37:10the hell we gonna do with it? Here, go take it back.
- 37:12She's like, well, how do I get credit for?
- 37:14Drop it, it back off. I said unscannable parcel.
- 37:17Thank you. Yeah, that'll work.
- 37:20Yeah. She's like really, I said that
- 37:22exactly what it is. Go ahead.
- 37:25Yeah. Yeah.
- 37:42Just to have a copy of my faith of all the important ones.
- 37:46You know, like throwing your basis on a daily basis.
- 37:50Yeah, especially the 12 hour rule I've got all those in my
- 37:55phone. Yes.
- 38:02Yeah, yeah, there's many times has my phone as you know, fuck
- 38:07me over, I don't trust it. So I pray on hard copies.
- 38:11Yeah, I just, I don't, I don't trust technology.
- 38:14I true do that too. But I guess what?
- 38:16The whole mou with regulars, helping out, and, and Sunday,
- 38:22parcel, stuff. Supervisor had a question
- 38:24yesterday I had printed out at one time, what happened to what?
- 38:27I don't know, but I was like, yeah, I got got it right here as
- 38:31she goes. Can you send that to my email so
- 38:33I can print it out? I said, certainly, what's your
- 38:35email? And she's like, yep, I said
- 38:38There You Go, set. You got it.
- 38:40She's like, thank you. So me and I'm breaking up again.
- 38:48I am going to have to work on my settings.
- 38:53Do - as we work out the Cork's. Stop by, and you stop by your
- 38:59electronics from Radio Shack. From where?
- 39:05Very nice. That's what I was going to say.
- 39:08Is there any Radio Shack's left? The last one?
- 39:11I knew of closed up many years ago.
- 39:17That was my point, haha. Uh-huh.
- 39:26Yeah, it's always nice to have those things right to break in
- 39:29your hand. You're available to give them
- 39:30and say now can't do that. Yeah, bill, this is a directive
- 39:37from the Puma. This is from Washington DC.
- 39:39Where do you think outranks? You, you know?
- 39:42All right, you're tired of arguing with him about it, you
- 39:46know, just show me print. But your poom said, that's it.
- 39:54Just because he's an idiot and he's above, you doesn't even
- 39:57right? I did get another settlement on
- 40:01his own 120-day letter and my good old Dr. Did what I expected
- 40:08settled for language. And you wonder why we feel like
- 40:14we're beating our fucking heads in the dirt for no reason
- 40:18whatsoever dead to right. Hadn't have everything
- 40:23documented. Yeah, it should be a clear cut
- 40:26wind. You should be getting yellow
- 40:28$100. You know, per week that I
- 40:30requested because you know, they didn't, you know, take care of
- 40:34the situation and he settles for language Yeah, you want to know,
- 40:43want to know why stewards are getting pissed off?
- 40:46Because shit like that. Above, you happening every damn
- 40:49time. It's almost like this.
- 40:51This Dr. Is on their fucking bed.
- 40:54They roll. Ya think oh, most is right.
- 41:07But yeah, that just, you know, you do all that work, you know,
- 41:11provide on documentation and everything and they they give
- 41:15you that. Yeah.
- 41:15It's like are you kidding me? I mean, why bother why bother
- 41:24the yellow you doing it? Well, I do it because this is
- 41:27all this, I guess somewhere, you know your postmaster would
- 41:35actually have to be in the office in order to upset our oh
- 41:39sorry I'm talking about mine. Yeah.
- 41:46Sounds like a personal problem. May be there.
- 41:48Working remotely. Sure, why not?
- 41:56I don't know how you want. Yeah
- 42:16and just put up a we're hiring. So we don't keep it up.
- 42:20We don't have the heroes work here sign, but we do have two
- 42:24were Hiring signs out there. We do, we do have a, we're
- 42:31hiring sign up at our office, do you know where it is?
- 42:38It's all the entrance doors from the from the loading dock.
- 42:43We've got two banners one in the entrance Drive in one of the
- 42:46exit drive out front. We've had numerous we've had
- 42:54several job. Fairs.
- 42:57But with no advertising. So and when and when people
- 43:06comment and if people do come in because you know, there's a sign
- 43:10on the door like an eight, by eleven eight by ten printed out.
- 43:16Piece of paper on the door that says job fair from.
- 43:20I don't know, 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on this Tuesday or
- 43:25what not and people do come in all that's done.
- 43:30Is they get handed? A pamphlet that tells them where
- 43:35to go online to hide to apply. And that's it.
- 43:43Oh, isn't it, though? Before or like in our office.
- 43:49Where did they do the job fair? And they're in the advertising
- 43:52for cca's only if it's like I last one was plc's and RCA's but
- 44:00we're good on the city Side. They keep smelling stuff.
- 44:05So I don't know what you're talking about.
- 44:07Hey, let me right. But you, but you but you are
- 44:15right. I mean, you know, these people
- 44:17do their, a special kind of stupid.
- 44:21Oh, I'm telling you. They really go out of the way to
- 44:26prove their ineptitude. I agree.
- 44:29It's like no you don't have to really, we believe you dumbass.
- 44:36Oh yeah, we believe you will take you at your word and trying
- 44:41to train a new. A newcomer on the biggest route
- 44:47in the office. That also happens to be the most
- 44:50parcel, have a route in the office.
- 44:54Yeah. That didn't work out so well.
- 44:58He left after five days of training.
- 45:14It was my first. My first trainee is the o.j.
- 45:20I, and I thought he, I mean, he was finding a Groove that third
- 45:26day out with him and bad, then the next two times, he worked,
- 45:33he only took half of the route, Out on his own.
- 45:36And that second day, he just come back and said, yeah, this
- 45:40isn't for me and left You're breaking up again, really bad.
- 45:48Am I? Okay, I'll have to work out some
- 45:50bugs. Yeah, it was me.
- 45:55I was drinking but it's not it myself out.
- 46:13Okay, somebody work. Then you know, I've never had
- 46:16that it try it. They tried it Saturday morning.
- 46:23At work and I did not say that. I'm not denying it.
- 46:40All right. Did they like it?
- 46:43Oh God, you can put cream in there.
- 46:59You don't need any sugar. Just put the screwball in there
- 47:03and I do like the run the RumChata in place of creamer at
- 47:09times too. Yeah, that one.
- 47:12I gotta try. I haven't tried that one.
- 47:13That one is good. Yes, Bailey's.
- 47:15Of course, you know, I like let me tell you something.
- 47:26No, we're not supposed to be drinking at work.
- 47:27I'm not. You are.
- 47:29Yeah, this is all disclaimer. This is all hypothetical
- 47:41situations and I lose actually happens.
- 47:44Yeah, we do not condone the use of illicit illegal, or illicit
- 47:49substances on the job. We don't why not?
- 47:55Not because that would be wrong. Hear no evil.
- 48:03See. No evil speak.
- 48:04No evil. Pretty much assume that we can.
- 48:10Yeah. Well, I, you know it was a
- 48:14harmless situation. All right guys, you ready to
- 48:21wrap it in for the night? All right.
- 48:27Yeah, we can wrap it up. All right, we're going to try
- 48:30and keep these short and sweet to begin with.
- 48:33You can't, you probably got some white, you know, it's all good.
- 48:47Package covered up with enough tape.
- 48:51Hahaha. Are you a duck tape wrapper?
- 49:02Go stand in the corner. That was bad.
- 49:13I think it was my good. I think it was my brother.
- 49:18One. Christmas wrapped a present was
- 49:21zip ties. Well, I open up the wrap, my
- 49:28wife's presence in duct tape. Yeah, he has this habit of
- 49:32breaking into them to find out what's inside.
- 49:39Do you do you use pretty colored idea?
- 49:46It was famous. Now it's all versicolor.
- 49:58My dad was my. Dad was famous for wrapping
- 50:00Christmas presents like those Russian nesting dolls.
- 50:07Yeah good one. I got my dad.
- 50:19Got Got one year, when I was young, got my mom, a exercise
- 50:24yoga mat thing foam thing for Christmas, we'd like nothing put
- 50:28it in this big box. Well, put it in a box inside of
- 50:32a big box and put bricks on both ends of the that bigger box.
- 50:37And you literally there's a picture of my mom, my Christmas
- 50:41morning holding up a brick that she pulled out of the box.
- 50:47Yeah, my dad did that one time to that.
- 50:50He ordered something. For Christmas and it didn't
- 50:54come. So he cut out a picture of it
- 50:57tape that to a brick wrapped a perk up in the box.
- 51:02That's great. This is coming.
- 51:08You were talking about the nesting dolls.
- 51:10Might, again I've done that, where, you know, I've had 14
- 51:13boxes and when one would get them to the bottom and there's a
- 51:16note saying it's upstairs. Yeah, ideas ideas, what you
- 51:25said, it was a gift. Not a white elephant, John, it's
- 51:29great being an asshole. Yeah.
- 51:33Yeah, but you're a lovable asshole, it's all good.
- 51:39Thank you. Thank you.
- 51:40You're welcome. All right guys.
- 51:47Yeah, your postmaster pile of me as much as I love you.
- 51:52Oh God. Alright Josh any hey Josh you
- 52:00got any final words this evening.
- 52:08It's that time of year. Even though we're not hot out
- 52:21anymore, you still need to hydrate.
- 52:25And I will see y'all next time, Mike.
- 52:35It is, it is headlamp season. Put a battery in your headlamp,
- 52:40I know it starts. It really starts to get
- 52:44noticeably darker here in the Midwest about 2:30 3:00.
- 52:51So you know, don't be afraid to don't be afraid to use a head
- 52:56lamp or something to illuminate. So you can see what the heck
- 52:59you're doing. Use the dome light in your truck
- 53:03if it's not working, right. It up cargo light works but
- 53:09Yeah, make sure your headlamp Works, put a new battery in it,
- 53:12if it doesn't, make sure your headlights, your dome lights
- 53:15work, your cargo light works but in the end folks they're just
- 53:21they're just Parcels. You know, I know there's going
- 53:27to be a lot of pressure to get them out, get them delivered but
- 53:31they're just Parcels, you know, they can be real.
- 53:38Take me. Placed you cannot reach.
- 53:43So take that for what it's worth for someone else.
- 53:47It was boasting about having the flashlight gloves, and then
- 53:54Kristen was if she still there. Read.
- 54:04Configuring my mic. Yes, I have a couple pairs
- 54:08actually, I got one set first in.
- 54:13I'm here, I'm here a there. Yeah, I had to, I went and
- 54:20reconfigured. My microphone plug in Real
- 54:23quick. Yeah.
- 54:43But you built any last word? Well, is it public service
- 54:47announcement? If you have an FF V you don't
- 54:52like yeah. Well your overhead light in the
- 54:55air passenger area, reflects off the windshield.
- 54:59Not allowing these you to see outside when it's dark.
- 55:02So, if you take a piece of cardboard and you kind of
- 55:06recorder Circle at four and a half inch diameter, with a
- 55:10radius of the four and a half per 4 and 1/4 inches, not And
- 55:13F4. It kind of light reflector which
- 55:22keeps the light off the windshield, making it easier to
- 55:25see outside. This is a professional service
- 55:28announcement. I do this every year.
- 55:32Same way, I cover up my radiator so that you know I can get some
- 55:35heat in the damn truck. Yes don't cover up the small
- 55:39little radiator to that's for your transmission, cover up your
- 55:43big radiator and that way you get more heat into your truck.
- 55:47Other than that, folks go out be safe.
- 55:51Get home to your loved ones. We may stay there only
- 55:55particles, they're not worth your life and you're sure as
- 55:59hell not getting paid to put your life on the line for the
- 56:01Post Office. And if you think you do, just
- 56:05what they'll have you replaced tomorrow.
- 56:07So, you know, don't don't sweat it.
- 56:11Do the best you can and then go home because you're the most
- 56:14important delivery of the day. Can you guys hear me?
- 56:17Member member two words. A live mic.
- 56:20Don't get stressed. Cause it, can you hear me now?
- 56:26Yes. All right.
- 56:28I was plugging my microphone it. Yes.
- 56:29I have those finger gloves that have the lights on the thumb and
- 56:35the index finger, and I absolutely love them because I
- 56:39can turn them off. I can turn them on.
- 56:42I could see him as I'm flipping through the mail, I can see it.
- 56:45When I go put the mail in the Box, you know, I got vision of
- 56:48the box if I have to use them to walk up to the door.
- 56:51There, Bright, I have a Pair that are rechargeable.
- 56:57And then I have another one that isn't rechargeable, just a
- 57:01battery replacement. But I love my rechargeable ones
- 57:05and I made sure that they're both fully charged.
- 57:07And I've already used them a couple times this year.
- 57:10So yeah, definitely. Maybe I'll post a link to where
- 57:15you got those from, got those from Amazon.
- 57:20Now that what, that was Amazon? Yeah, I know our Nemesis, but
- 57:31once in a while, you kind of have to break down in order
- 57:34something there, but, you know, I've seen ads all over Facebook
- 57:38for them. I would definitely, they they're
- 57:42awesome. I can't speak highly enough
- 57:44about. Um I'm not a headlamp person
- 57:46because I'm short and like with the overhead lights in the FF
- 57:51he's and sometimes the LVS that stuff reflects right off.
- 57:55You can't see what's out in front of you.
- 57:59I've almost hit dear when I've had even just using the cargo
- 58:02lamp in the back. Yeah, so I will post a picture
- 58:08and some links of some they not that expensive.
- 58:12So if anybody's interested Stood, I'll get those up on the
- 58:16Facebook page. But other than that stay safe, I
- 58:22mean the season is creeping up on us and is already here for
- 58:27some of us. So be safe out.
- 58:29There will probably will. Like I said, we're going to be
- 58:32recording our first several episodes until at least after
- 58:34the holidays, and then, we'll try and go live.
- 58:37Anybody has ideas topics will have, we've got the Discord
- 58:42Channel, we've got the Facebook page, so just give us a shout
- 58:46out and we'll be happy. Me to toss things up around for
- 58:53you. And on that note, we will talk
- 59:01to you guys next time. Have a good night.
