- 2:14Speaker 5: I thought just something to kind of fill in a
- 2:16Speaker 5: bit of space and here, Bruce, can I have that present?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Thank you very much? Do a painting? A painting, it's
- 2:21Speaker 1: a it's a nude of you have a look?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Is that?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Wayne? Yeah? That's not staying?
- 2:31Speaker 5: There is no yuck? Who did that? I reckon this
- 2:35Speaker 5: would actually look good in your your little bar.
- 2:38Speaker 1: No, we're not.
- 2:39Speaker 5: It would take that game and jersey of yours off
- 2:42Speaker 5: the wall and we can hang this up.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to put it up here anyway. That's
- 2:47Speaker 1: Wayne selfie. I like that. I do like is there
- 2:51Speaker 1: any chance I'll make you do one of us? Yeah?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Like in that cartoon? That's cool? Who is it? Is
- 2:56Speaker 1: he someone I'm not good at that? Pull? Desbully? Is
- 3:05Speaker 1: that it pul to be French? Oh? Yeah? If he's
- 3:09Speaker 1: still painting the nipples for me so long? Wow?
- 3:16Speaker 5: You know, I don't think that big of ears either.
- 3:19Speaker 5: He has got pretty big ears. A dawn of his
- 3:22Speaker 5: foreheads are that big. But they they've nailed the facials.
- 3:27Speaker 5: They had no other fact. Actually the guards are the same,
- 3:31Speaker 5: like you know, pregnant, it's still that.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Actually, the worst part is we all know what the
- 3:37Speaker 6: rest of us like because remember when he used to
- 3:39Speaker 6: walk out of the.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Have a song by John Mayer. Actually it's called gravity.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Let's say. Look, I'm glad he is a wonderful.
- 3:52Speaker 6: I was lucky enough to actually my first ever locker
- 3:55Speaker 6: was lucky enough.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to go with that. That's the best
- 3:59Speaker 1: way to do it.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Lock of Arena was one side, but then the other
- 4:04Speaker 6: row started right here, so my lock was here.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I think Spare was spare for a while.
- 4:09Speaker 5: Yeah, because like you corner because no one else wanted
- 4:13Speaker 5: Joe was in there was there, so he was.
- 4:15Speaker 6: On that road and Wayne and then I learned pretty
- 4:20Speaker 6: quick when Wayne comes out of the shower because I
- 4:23Speaker 6: was bugging.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I was ben over this. We just had a big session.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Yeah, and we just said gym and he's had a
- 4:27Speaker 6: shower and whatnot, and.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And I'm like, and all the boys look out and
- 4:31Speaker 1: Wayne's just right there and what's out everything? And I'm
- 4:35Speaker 1: talking like he's just done this. He's he's honestly, he's
- 4:39Speaker 1: just tee off dry himself. Think of this.
- 4:43Speaker 6: He said here.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Here eyes and that was my life.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Lucky there was no HR department those days, because yeah,
- 5:01Speaker 1: that was.
- 5:01Speaker 4: That was interesting and truth did it move a little bit?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Everyone that he's coming with moving? She was all pat Benata.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Had not.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Lose control. Get the glory days. Jeez, Louise, all right,
- 5:30Speaker 1: let's talk about some That's my present to you boys,
- 5:34Speaker 1: A great gift. Remind me that day or the rest
- 5:36Speaker 1: of my life.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Thursday night football Manly Seagulls taking on the Roasters Eagles.
- 5:42Speaker 7: Yeahs s week so mainly a home look Rosters versus
- 5:50Speaker 7: after Yeah, DC's returned back to Brookie Actually interesting.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you're always going to get actual. Well do
- 6:00Speaker 1: they give him a bad doing.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Good one because of the bad Yeah, because they'll be
- 6:05Speaker 4: missing him.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah maybe. Ruses definitely.
- 6:10Speaker 6: Still I don't like what I've seen from the Ruses,
- 6:12Speaker 6: but it's bringing me off because I know they're way
- 6:15Speaker 6: better than that. I just wanted to click because I
- 6:18Speaker 6: love watching them when they're on.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Mainly have like played really sporadic Yeah, like Birds of
- 6:25Speaker 5: Brilliant and you watch them and go, holy wow, they're team,
- 6:28Speaker 5: but then they just.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Not for much for not for long.
- 6:31Speaker 6: It's about five minutes maybe six minutes of good footing
- 6:35Speaker 6: and then very very scrappy as well.
- 6:40Speaker 1: We're all roosters on that we're going to lose the Birds. Yep.
- 6:43Speaker 4: So then Friday night, the first game is the Warriors
- 6:46Speaker 4: at home to the Tigers.
- 6:48Speaker 1: This would be a good game, but yeah, up the wires.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Yeah I was stuck. Yeah, this was.
- 6:56Speaker 6: On the wires because at they're home and they have played.
- 7:00Speaker 6: I'm putting them up there like they are going to
- 7:02Speaker 6: be a top team.
- 7:03Speaker 1: They're good. That a boy, I'm so happy you see.
- 7:07Speaker 6: Him playing like that, like, yeah he's killing and he's
- 7:10Speaker 6: playing himself into a full time starting role at half
- 7:13Speaker 6: like he's just taking his opportunity and queen that bronx
- 7:19Speaker 6: and I felt sorry for him because he just was
- 7:22Speaker 6: that guy had so much talent. They said, you know
- 7:25Speaker 6: he's in the next Elfie bah blah all that, and
- 7:27Speaker 6: he was just his young kid yea, and just wanted
- 7:29Speaker 6: to play foot He love being there.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Is he the form Queensland halfback right now? Yeah?
- 7:35Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's playing exceptional footing.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Everyone's going to the Wars Yeah, I was just almost
- 7:43Speaker 5: big Tigers.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I love the way they're playing. Yeah, Jerome lay out
- 7:47Speaker 1: for the time.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Adam Dewey had a bit of like muscle solness after
- 7:53Speaker 5: like towards the end of last week. He's playing Our
- 7:57Speaker 5: little mate who was at the Bronx is playing in
- 7:59Speaker 5: the harves with him, Jock Madden.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So he will do a great job.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Mate, he's been he's been at the Broncos for a
- 8:06Speaker 5: little a little while and then been behind Reno and
- 8:10Speaker 5: would have learned a lot. And he's a great player.
- 8:12Speaker 5: I really like the way he plays. But I got
- 8:14Speaker 5: to think the Warriors will be too good from yeah, yeah, Okay.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Then the big game for the weekend, probably the biggest
- 8:20Speaker 5: game of the Yeah, it is the biggest game, Dolphins Broncos.
- 8:24Speaker 5: It's a Broncos home games. But yeah, I went Bronx easily.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I just don't know.
- 8:32Speaker 6: I don't know about easily love confidence, I don't know.
- 8:37Speaker 6: Their attacks always great the Dolphins, but the defense, I
- 8:41Speaker 6: just it's really poor. I think it's been really poor.
- 8:46Speaker 6: And I don't think there was a lot difference on
- 8:49Speaker 6: the weekend, you know, And this game is a big
- 8:51Speaker 6: game to find it, Like, if they find their defense,
- 8:54Speaker 6: it's going to be a close game.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think it could be a big scoring game. Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Defensively, the Dolphins were way better last week against the Sharks.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They kind of lifted their game a little bit.
- 9:04Speaker 5: But there's always like the bounce back factor. After I've
- 9:08Speaker 5: been in the headlines for you know, for the wrong reasons.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Sometimes you get out on the field and you do
- 9:15Speaker 5: your talking out there, and that's what I hope the
- 9:17Speaker 5: Bronx do.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And I'm back in the Bronx and this one.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Is Yeah, bookies only give three point spread, so they
- 9:23Speaker 4: think it's going to be close.
- 9:24Speaker 1: What do you reckon?
- 9:25Speaker 4: I was listening to seen this week and they suggesting
- 9:28Speaker 4: that the spine numbers one to seven for the Dolphins
- 9:33Speaker 4: is probably on paper the.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Best, one of the best, the best one of the best. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 5: Katole wins them that game.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you get from Hammer all the way out tote.
- 9:43Speaker 1: It is very that's what we have to do.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Like you stop Herbie far more fun Worth in the centers.
- 9:49Speaker 4: You've got Sell and Cobber Like just no.
- 9:52Speaker 6: They've got a great team. I'm not doubting their team
- 9:55Speaker 6: or their talent at all. I just don't think they've
- 9:57Speaker 6: honestly clicked it really, And I think the Bronx did
- 9:59Speaker 6: in the second half, yeah at Melbourne, so they if
- 10:02Speaker 6: they do that in that game in this game, and
- 10:05Speaker 6: and the Dolphins don't click again like you know, for
- 10:08Speaker 6: the whole game. I just don't think it, you know,
- 10:09Speaker 6: I think it could be a bad game for him,
- 10:11Speaker 6: but I think they've got a great team still.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I just wait.
- 10:14Speaker 6: I'm yet to see him click for a for a
- 10:16Speaker 6: good stint, like for a good half or something.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I've got a game coming up at the end of
- 10:21Speaker 4: this as well, Pony Versus.
- 10:27Speaker 5: It's a new game. It's a great game. Made this
- 10:29Speaker 5: up to not sue me, beauty. It sounds really just yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 5: you love tests testicles.
- 10:39Speaker 4: I need to actually you need to. First of the
- 10:43Speaker 4: first first of the Saturday games is a home game.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Bulldogs have got taken on the nights. Bulldogs are firm favorites.
- 10:53Speaker 6: Well yeah, then I said, all right, actually without there
- 10:56Speaker 6: too great players.
- 10:57Speaker 5: But they were actually in that game kind of like
- 11:00Speaker 5: they died off because it was trumbled, just like I
- 11:04Speaker 5: don't know, they was a good job for missing their
- 11:06Speaker 5: two best player.
- 11:07Speaker 1: And they're two leaders, mind you, not just best but
- 11:10Speaker 1: fall back and half like look a leaders.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I look at that Newcastle team and it kind
- 11:16Speaker 5: of reminds me back of when Bronx played the Eels
- 11:21Speaker 5: at home and Mitch Moses as as the half kicked
- 11:25Speaker 5: them back into that game and when they were in front,
- 11:28Speaker 5: then kicked them to the victory. The Knights had like
- 11:32Speaker 5: not enough kicking to really help them because they were
- 11:35Speaker 5: right in that game against the Warriors and then like
- 11:39Speaker 5: Tanner Boyd was on the on the flip side, he
- 11:41Speaker 5: just kicked them to victory. And so that's where I
- 11:43Speaker 5: really think, like losing Brown and kp is they miss
- 11:49Speaker 5: a lot of an attack, but I really really on
- 11:51Speaker 5: point kicking game. Fletcher sharp back for Newcastle Knights. He
- 11:56Speaker 5: brings a lot of energy, so you know, you just
- 12:00Speaker 5: never know what you're.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Going to get. But I think, yeah, the Dogs should
- 12:04Speaker 1: be too good.
- 12:04Speaker 6: They both six weeks out injuries, Oh.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Throw numbers up, and then.
- 12:11Speaker 6: I truly believe if that's what they're at six weeks each,
- 12:14Speaker 6: I still think the Nights will win at least two
- 12:16Speaker 6: of them, at least two without them, and I think
- 12:17Speaker 6: that would be unbelievable if they do. Like I still
- 12:20Speaker 6: think they They've surprised me so much this year and
- 12:23Speaker 6: if they just keep going with that, Yeah, they could
- 12:26Speaker 6: be a really hard team.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You know, they could be there at the back end.
- 12:28Speaker 1: But who are you going to tip? Gone dogs? Well,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you don't get on the dogs yet. They're going to
- 12:36Speaker 1: be hard to be.
- 12:37Speaker 4: But they weren't great last week, but they were just
- 12:42Speaker 4: they were good enough to win.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Like they still they're just that team. They grind, they
- 12:46Speaker 6: will find a way to win. Yeah, and when they clicked, Yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 6: they're going to be great against the Raders.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to go the dogs. Ye. Same.
- 12:54Speaker 4: The second of the Arbo games in Penrith, Panthers taking
- 12:58Speaker 4: on the Eels.
- 13:01Speaker 1: At home May.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Which isn't necessarily at home. But was it combat Yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 5: because they don't have a stadium at.
- 13:10Speaker 1: It's under construction.
- 13:12Speaker 5: Was that done actually no, I don't know if maybe
- 13:16Speaker 5: halfway through next year that. Yeah, it is kmbank combat
- 13:21Speaker 5: is paras it is the it's the best of the West.
- 13:28Speaker 5: This battle actually was it fifty to fifty? It was
- 13:30Speaker 5: one all last year?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah. So they actually the Eels really sharp for this
- 13:34Speaker 1: game yeah.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and they had a pretty good victory over the
- 13:39Speaker 5: Dragons on the weekend.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yes, they were very yeah, convincing yeah, you know what? Wow?
- 13:47Speaker 5: What I say it out loud? Rugby rugby rugby league?
- 13:53Speaker 5: Could they be the team that beats them?
- 13:54Speaker 1: No? Well they just lost. Oh yeah, there's a big
- 13:58Speaker 1: that's a big loss. That's a big he's a rule.
- 14:01Speaker 6: And for that reason I went Panthers. Otherwise I would
- 14:03Speaker 6: have been very obvious. I would have been edge. You
- 14:05Speaker 6: go on an upset, I'm going for the eels.
- 14:08Speaker 1: How are you doing it? Yeah? I'll stick with what
- 14:12Speaker 1: do you think of people? Hop good?
- 14:14Speaker 4: Been out four weeks as I feel right to you,
- 14:18Speaker 4: Hawkins one's got.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Tackle and I think I don't like we.
- 14:25Speaker 6: I didn't play well I did, but I still remember
- 14:28Speaker 6: when when it was hip dropping.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It never existed like we. I remember one. I think
- 14:32Speaker 1: it was mean.
- 14:33Speaker 5: I said, where's this come from? Where did this hip
- 14:36Speaker 5: drop tackle come from? Wasn't that Alfie Langer's tackling style
- 14:40Speaker 5: was a hip drop? He used to he grabbed, grabbed
- 14:43Speaker 5: your chest.
- 14:45Speaker 1: They never fell under your legs, they just fall back.
- 14:47Speaker 6: Okay, So yeah, I don't know where this has come from,
- 14:50Speaker 6: but I didn't see the tackle.
- 14:52Speaker 1: A lot of mixed reviews I heard.
- 14:54Speaker 5: It's absolutely I find it fascinating every time we give
- 14:57Speaker 5: a tackle a name, when we start panealizing and start
- 15:01Speaker 5: suspending people from it, you know.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Like had I a pinging me off? Yeah, but then.
- 15:08Speaker 5: I've watched it and I hate when they take into
- 15:12Speaker 5: consideration the injury of the player because if you want
- 15:17Speaker 5: to do that, like it just it just adds too
- 15:19Speaker 5: much gray area. Three four weeks is I think sufficient
- 15:26Speaker 5: suspension for what has happened?
- 15:29Speaker 1: What happened? Did he did he intentionally do? What's you
- 15:33Speaker 1: can see? It's an accident. It's completely accident.
- 15:36Speaker 6: Like this is similar to those head highs where a
- 15:40Speaker 6: guy's going into a tackle and he's running and someone
- 15:43Speaker 6: actes him here and he just.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Goes and then headbuts. The guys aren't and high ten. Yeah,
- 15:51Speaker 1: piss like, yeah, oh.
- 15:53Speaker 8: This game is ridiculous taking the consideration he went from here,
- 15:58Speaker 8: Like that's that's that much of a difference. Come on,
- 16:02Speaker 8: Like it's starting to piss me off because it's ruining
- 16:04Speaker 8: the game.
- 16:05Speaker 6: They're not paying in the drop. Players are now going
- 16:07Speaker 6: to tackles and they're running and they go to that.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah really because they know they're going to get hit.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Well there, that's what you used to do. Lean into them.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I never got pedal because I never had that ship.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I get stuck in the face. Look at it this
- 16:22Speaker 1: week's car. I never got pedalized for that love playing
- 16:26Speaker 1: for weeks.
- 16:28Speaker 4: What about Jenkins by the way for the Panthers milk
- 16:31Speaker 4: or tries?
- 16:32Speaker 1: How good? That's what Maybe I should have picked him
- 16:37Speaker 1: in the multi. Let's talk about this multi.
- 16:40Speaker 5: We're coming back with understore the anger up because I stupid.
- 16:45Speaker 4: And last, the last Saturday game is North Queensland taking
- 16:50Speaker 4: on the Storm in in North Queensland. So a Stormer
- 16:54Speaker 4: a dollar nineteen? Yeah, okay, I didn't see the game.
- 16:58Speaker 4: How they did they play convincently on the weekend? Were
- 17:01Speaker 4: they Titans? Storm don't have a great record up there.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I think that a new stadium Cows have come off
- 17:10Speaker 4: a win.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Were they?
- 17:12Speaker 5: Were they that convincing beating the Titans? It was good
- 17:16Speaker 5: to see drink water getting busy. I thought Jake Clifford
- 17:19Speaker 5: played a great game. Tommy did didn't always show you
- 17:23Speaker 5: always know what you're going to get from him games.
- 17:26Speaker 1: So yeah, I think that their spine really clicked in
- 17:29Speaker 1: that game.
- 17:30Speaker 5: They went to the chiropractor got a click, I got
- 17:33Speaker 5: a straight crack back in the place.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hard to back cows just with their.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Inconsistency and Storm don't lose to So I'm gonna have
- 17:44Speaker 5: to go to the Storm with that because they have
- 17:46Speaker 5: had a rocket put up and by Craig Bellamy this week.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Did I actually ask who Melbourne played? You did? Yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you did?
- 17:54Speaker 4: Sunday a first of the Sunday Avo games as Raiders Sharks.
- 17:58Speaker 1: What a game can is that.
- 18:03Speaker 4: There was a bit of talk about the Raiders stadium
- 18:05Speaker 4: him and of course because the box.
- 18:08Speaker 1: That bad, Oh are you serious?
- 18:11Speaker 6: Concrete where the top of it's all got all the
- 18:13Speaker 6: holes through it, and then in winter it's freezing cold.
- 18:17Speaker 1: When halftime isn't there Can we just go to play again?
- 18:20Speaker 1: The heaters on and there? It's for sure, it's horrendous.
- 18:24Speaker 1: You walk down remember the tunnel, you get dropped off
- 18:28Speaker 1: walking and you walk it's just concrete. It's freezing. It
- 18:34Speaker 1: does need to face slift that stadium.
- 18:36Speaker 6: But I love the ground I stud I used to
- 18:39Speaker 6: love playing there, but I.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Just hated the sps.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think it's cold there at the moment.
- 18:45Speaker 5: It's camera camera, it's always, but surely can't I camera
- 18:51Speaker 5: we're pretty good against the against the Dogs, but half
- 18:55Speaker 5: back not too bad. He goes really goody good. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 5: the Ethans. So now I'm going to go camber at home.
- 19:05Speaker 1: There was it again.
- 19:07Speaker 4: It's it's Sharks. It's a really it's going to be
- 19:09Speaker 4: I reckon, this will be the tightest game.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Camera. Yeah, I'm going camera.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Yeah, hopefully it doesn't rain down there, because yeah, yeah,
- 19:16Speaker 5: you're any kind of stuff with their attack a little bit.
- 19:19Speaker 5: But in saying that, the Dogs like really showed up
- 19:21Speaker 5: defensively against him and kept on turning. That's what I mean.
- 19:24Speaker 5: They just win the Dogs. But yeah, I think, yeah,
- 19:26Speaker 5: I think the Raiders will win that one. I'll go
- 19:28Speaker 5: to Sharks on this one. The Sharks do something different.
- 19:31Speaker 5: By the way, Ethan Sanders. If they're not calling him
- 19:34Speaker 5: the colonel, that's mad, that's an obvious.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Colonel Sanders. Colonel Sanders. Yeah, the halves come on. Yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 1: he's cooking it up.
- 19:46Speaker 5: He's got the original recipe out there, he's got the
- 19:49Speaker 5: herbs and.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Right itself. What they should just bonsor him? He was
- 20:00Speaker 1: a zinger, would you and I? And the last game
- 20:05Speaker 1: was just taken a while.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Last game it's a Titans home game Titans or this
- 20:10Speaker 4: is the Battle.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Of the Dragons the spoon Lickers Bowl on Titans.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Well you should. You've got them every week now.
- 20:17Speaker 5: They're actually a chance I reckon, you know, Like I said,
- 20:20Speaker 5: they weren't far off in that Cowboys game, and I
- 20:23Speaker 5: think you know, they would have they would have taken
- 20:27Speaker 5: a lot of confidence out of their game, even though
- 20:29Speaker 5: they did lose. I thought Jane Campbell was brilliant, and yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 5: that will be so much better for that.
- 20:37Speaker 1: And I just I'm.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Really honestly, you go through the Titans team like they've
- 20:44Speaker 6: got a good team on paper, Like their forward pack
- 20:47Speaker 6: is probably one of the best forward.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Packers getting around. I'm going to Titans, you know.
- 20:51Speaker 6: And the outside backs they'd be fast, agile and work
- 20:55Speaker 6: hard like you know, and then the halves, the they
- 20:59Speaker 6: just got to stick together, like if you get them
- 21:00Speaker 6: more consistent games.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Yeah, down, Titans definitely Owen versus Owen. Yeah, George hadn't
- 21:07Speaker 5: one since last Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 1: You know, Georgia that one.
- 21:14Speaker 5: I went three. You need Rugby League, I don't get it. Yeah, Multy,
- 21:21Speaker 5: yours is ship your pick?
- 21:24Speaker 4: Titans, Titans, Titans, Titans.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you going to fight for. I just
- 21:29Speaker 1: think that Georgia. No, he is back on with you
- 21:32Speaker 1: just following us. An't I'm winning because you know if
- 21:36Speaker 1: I was following you, if I was last Yeah, that's true.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Actually anyway, multi, So yes, let's talk about last week
- 21:46Speaker 4: because we each had a player to pick.
- 21:47Speaker 1: You picked Peak Press.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Mine played more than your double and you still couldn't
- 21:51Speaker 6: actually do it.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Jacob Press. Jacob Press scored by Alongo also scored in
- 21:58Speaker 1: the first half and then like it's three people's got
- 22:02Speaker 1: a double, but not the one you picked. Our ship
- 22:07Speaker 1: at the end of the day.
- 22:08Speaker 5: No, responsibly, guys, there it comes your choice time. But
- 22:14Speaker 5: guess what you would have been cheering if Brian caught
- 22:18Speaker 5: the banana kick that clearly kicked across the field double,
- 22:22Speaker 5: he would have scored it easy.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But he didn't. He did not score too. It doesn't matter, guys,
- 22:30Speaker 1: it does because we lost. Did you put money on it? Yes? Personally, yes,
- 22:35Speaker 1: show me. It's a long way out bets on, how honestly, I.
- 22:41Speaker 5: Have to scroll a long way exactly, gamble responsible, I'll
- 22:44Speaker 5: have to scroll a long way back.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I had a I had a one dollar bed on
- 22:48Speaker 1: and it lost.
- 22:49Speaker 5: It was paying I think six hundred and twenty five
- 22:51Speaker 5: dollars lost, but I backed every away team.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Now he didn't.
- 22:54Speaker 5: It was going well until the Tigers did six teams
- 22:57Speaker 5: and I don't think had every day. I had every game.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, I had every game. But yeah, yeah, but
- 23:03Speaker 5: it didn't but it didn't happen.
- 23:04Speaker 1: No, because I put a dollar on it. Gamble responsibly.
- 23:11Speaker 1: All right, okay, all.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Right, well how are we going to do that this week?
- 23:14Speaker 4: So who's your need?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Like you see someone about the gambling problem.
- 23:20Speaker 4: We've both got credit limits from.
- 23:25Speaker 5: At the end of the day. You you boys are
- 23:27Speaker 5: classic l d A. Right now, what's that meaning again?
- 23:31Speaker 5: And I attack? I attack? It's the truth.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Well we both want out lost our part of the
- 23:36Speaker 1: multi got up. Yea, yours didn't best sign of a
- 23:41Speaker 1: gambling problem.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Boys, aggressions not aggressive chasing your losses, so let's chase.
- 23:50Speaker 1: More.
- 23:51Speaker 4: My player for the week is Alisma Warriors. Poppy did yeah, okay,
- 23:59Speaker 4: because I think the Warrior's going to score a ton
- 24:01Speaker 4: of tries and he's just he's just on fire.
- 24:04Speaker 5: Like other I love him, he's my favorite player at
- 24:07Speaker 5: the moment. But surely he can't score every game. He
- 24:10Speaker 5: scored the last never happened before in the back round
- 24:11Speaker 5: his career, not once.
- 24:13Speaker 1: No, it hasn't. I've been serious. It's not like he's
- 24:15Speaker 1: due for his name career.
- 24:17Speaker 6: I think Cooper may no, no, Gavin Cooper might have
- 24:22Speaker 6: Coboy's background. Now I've gone blank origin Jeremie year two
- 24:29Speaker 6: years ago. There was two years in a row. I
- 24:30Speaker 6: think he was like eighteen or nine, and he's got
- 24:33Speaker 6: the record. I think the back rollers, I believe. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 6: in the season, I think and Gatoa was awesome. Honestly,
- 24:41Speaker 6: how the scene is not fine off? Yeah, you know what,
- 24:43Speaker 6: I'm going to go double.
- 24:45Speaker 5: We got the same game as someone to scored too,
- 24:49Speaker 5: don't do it again.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Actually I'm changing because I don't want the same game.
- 24:52Speaker 1: It's boy, yeah, a different game. I'm going to say.
- 24:56Speaker 1: You know what I'm going to say. I'm going to
- 24:57Speaker 1: say if it's if it's an option, and then in
- 25:01Speaker 1: the Dogs game.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, it'll be paying a bit because he has
- 25:05Speaker 4: he hasn't been Yeah, who you bet with at the
- 25:08Speaker 4: end of the day, Yeah, because I want probably one
- 25:11Speaker 4: of the ones that let you bet.
- 25:13Speaker 5: No, I just think that he goes the Cowboys defense
- 25:17Speaker 5: is going to be woeful. And I reckon that, Nick, mean,
- 25:21Speaker 5: he will be right to kick this week because you
- 25:22Speaker 5: didn't kick last week, because you've got.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It hammered by someone. And I reckon that he'll score
- 25:29Speaker 1: twelve points. Have you picked? You just said it? Okay, so.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Twelve points? Okay, I don't Yeah, what if he's not kicking? Yeah,
- 25:42Speaker 5: well that's because he's not. I feel like he's growing.
- 25:48Speaker 5: He didn't do his grond. He didn't kick that. Yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 5: he didn't kick because he got he got smashed and tackles.
- 25:53Speaker 5: So he's kind of called the try in the corner
- 25:54Speaker 5: and our pointer. I thought, hit pointer. That's what it
- 25:57Speaker 5: come out. You're right, bro, he's getting think he'll kick
- 25:59Speaker 5: the hit pointer. But anyway, he's.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Getting pretty ordinary service from his center.
- 26:04Speaker 4: But look, we'll find out later this year. But see,
- 26:11Speaker 4: I don't think he's going to score a really down
- 26:15Speaker 4: he's got.
- 26:17Speaker 5: All the points. Can you put that in again? I
- 26:20Speaker 5: picked up easier. I picked something easier. The games just
- 26:26Speaker 5: make it up. I'm just going to make it up.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I've got things, I've got places to be just putting
- 26:31Speaker 1: that out there, So can you hurry up because you've
- 26:33Speaker 1: got to go toilet. No, I didn't. You gotta get home.
- 26:36Speaker 1: What's on the kids? Do hurry out? All right? You know,
- 26:40Speaker 1: work man, different, you're going to hard. I don't work.
- 26:44Speaker 1: You pay the travel? Do I get paid to travel? Yeah? Yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 1: of course it's easy. Exactly. You're got a Bronco that's
- 26:52Speaker 1: going to score or anything. Okay, now I'm going to go.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm going to go. Chan to score is looking good? Yeah, Yeah,
- 27:04Speaker 1: there's lace.
- 27:06Speaker 5: There's a lot of back rolls scoring, and I think
- 27:08Speaker 5: it comes off the back of the speed. Yeah, the
- 27:11Speaker 5: speed of the game right now. And what's happening I
- 27:15Speaker 5: think is four defenders are getting tired and and they're
- 27:17Speaker 5: jamming in, which is then putting pressure on their three defenders,
- 27:21Speaker 5: which is usually a half back. So and then like
- 27:24Speaker 5: a lot of fullbacks in the line as well. Those
- 27:26Speaker 5: kicks through Preston scored a few trials off the backs.
- 27:29Speaker 5: But yeah, back rollers, like back rolls from your favorite team.
- 27:33Speaker 6: The last game, one of the last games of the week,
- 27:35Speaker 6: I think all four of them, all full back rolls
- 27:37Speaker 6: scored double Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Long call the Prince the chasers on for me.
- 27:48Speaker 6: Pickup David me you are not You're so solid magician.
- 27:54Speaker 4: All right, special guest on the Shared David me Meati.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Welcome mate, Thanks mate, it's to be here. Thank you
- 28:00Speaker 4: for talking to me. Recognize that I'm here.
- 28:02Speaker 1: I appreciate it. He's too nice.
- 28:06Speaker 6: We knew that this was a bad idea if we
- 28:07Speaker 6: got him to do the same thing like, he wouldn't
- 28:10Speaker 6: do it.
- 28:10Speaker 1: He's took it of a bloke.
- 28:11Speaker 9: Yeah, it's pretty much of a pranks to say, yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 9: we'll see we'll see you bees you are oh bee?
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah? How many.
- 28:23Speaker 4: The boy's been calling you the Prince, the Prince of
- 28:25Speaker 4: p And it's not self proclaimed, it's it's a name
- 28:29Speaker 4: I was given in twenty seventy when I first came
- 28:31Speaker 4: to the Broncos.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 9: It was a good squad back then. So when they
- 28:35Speaker 9: mentioned it, I was, you know, actually counts right.
- 28:37Speaker 1: So it might have been you. I think it might
- 28:39Speaker 1: have been because we did the trip. Was that that
- 28:45Speaker 1: year we did the trip.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Or the year before year before we went up there?
- 28:48Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know where they are from.
- 28:52Speaker 5: It came from the boy. It's probably it's the question
- 28:54Speaker 5: for them, not me. So were you born there?
- 28:55Speaker 9: Born in PJ Yes, born in PNG to Sair Village,
- 28:58Speaker 9: which is happening now from Port Moresby along the coastline
- 29:01Speaker 9: there lived talk is there, simple lifestyle, went to school
- 29:04Speaker 9: with out any shoes on sometimes and you climb coconut
- 29:08Speaker 9: trees that we weren't supposed to, and you know, the
- 29:11Speaker 9: old fellows would say if you climb that, they mark
- 29:13Speaker 9: the trees, was like you know, vines and stuff, saying
- 29:15Speaker 9: you climb these trees, your balls are going to get big.
- 29:17Speaker 9: So kept all youngs were so I either didn't climbing
- 29:22Speaker 9: up or the curses that didn't work.
- 29:25Speaker 1: So that simple upbringing life.
- 29:27Speaker 9: Yeah, and then uh yeah, my auntie adopted me, took
- 29:30Speaker 9: me to Lismore, New South Wales and then for a
- 29:32Speaker 9: better education at the edge of twelve and then yeah,
- 29:35Speaker 9: the rest is kind of history. From there, went to
- 29:37Speaker 9: finish high school and they was able to play NRL
- 29:39Speaker 9: for fourteen years.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So yeah, how many games do you get a while?
- 29:44Speaker 9: Over two hundred simperly. So, yeah, had a decent stint.
- 29:50Speaker 9: I was pretty happy with it. A couple of injuries
- 29:52Speaker 9: here and there, and Wayne benched me a few times.
- 29:54Speaker 9: Played q cups, so played remember played, Yeah, which was strange.
- 29:59Speaker 1: You're tough enough. But you talk about a simple life, Kip.
- 30:04Speaker 5: There's a famous story about media as a young kid
- 30:06Speaker 5: didn't have a football, used to use the coke bottle
- 30:09Speaker 5: for football.
- 30:10Speaker 9: Yeah, so I think you guys would have seen Fort Moresby.
- 30:14Speaker 9: Drove around and kids was just playing footy on the
- 30:16Speaker 9: side of the road anyway, foody plastic bottles and whatever,
- 30:20Speaker 9: empty coconut, whatever they can to play foody. And that
- 30:23Speaker 9: was I guess my upbringing the in the village there. Yeah,
- 30:27Speaker 9: you know, we give ourselves in our players names. I
- 30:29Speaker 9: was Steve Renolf playing against couple of Petros and then
- 30:35Speaker 9: and so it was really pretty cool kind of bringing.
- 30:39Speaker 9: Pretty simple and humbling.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I guess.
- 30:41Speaker 6: I remember when the trip we'd done, it was fifty
- 30:44Speaker 6: sixty or whatever it was, whatever year it was, went there.
- 30:46Speaker 1: For the week and a bit. I think it was Wayne.
- 30:48Speaker 6: Wayne made us go over there because he's like, I
- 30:50Speaker 6: want used to experience it, because he said it's actual
- 30:53Speaker 6: one of the greatest experiences you'll experience in rugby legue.
- 30:56Speaker 1: And I was going over the young kid. I didn't
- 30:59Speaker 1: know what.
- 30:59Speaker 6: To expect, and oh my lord, I remember rocking up
- 31:02Speaker 6: at the airport and there was a train of probably
- 31:05Speaker 6: fifty deep from as soon as we got out of
- 31:08Speaker 6: our plane to the bus and then the bus was
- 31:11Speaker 6: then driving through a like a tunnel of people still
- 31:16Speaker 6: and that was our entrance to like P and G
- 31:18Speaker 6: or and the whole experience was like I remember back then,
- 31:22Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, that was like it was scary, But
- 31:25Speaker 6: then towards the end, I'm like, this is actually one
- 31:27Speaker 6: of the best things ever, because like they just love
- 31:30Speaker 6: rugby league. They like these are true fans and they
- 31:34Speaker 6: just love you. And I remember by the time we left,
- 31:36Speaker 6: it was just normal, like you know, the hype and
- 31:39Speaker 6: the excitement.
- 31:40Speaker 1: It was cool.
- 31:41Speaker 6: It was it was honestly, it changed my perspective on
- 31:44Speaker 6: rugby league and what it means to people, and you know,
- 31:48Speaker 6: and then all this stuff we're hearing about the P
- 31:50Speaker 6: and G TAM and people talking about it trying to
- 31:52Speaker 6: give their perspective.
- 31:53Speaker 1: And I've never been there. It pisces me off.
- 31:57Speaker 6: But then I remember when we spoke the other day,
- 31:59Speaker 6: like just your opinion on that, like can you fill
- 32:02Speaker 6: people in on what it's actually going to be like
- 32:04Speaker 6: over there? You know, for the people going over living
- 32:06Speaker 6: and playing, it's the Chiefs.
- 32:09Speaker 5: The Chiefs coming in in twenty twenty eight into the
- 32:12Speaker 5: NERLD competition.
- 32:13Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I think I think there's a lot of
- 32:15Speaker 9: different things to talk about. I guess in terms of
- 32:17Speaker 9: players going over there and living partners, you know, other
- 32:22Speaker 9: NRL stuff who are there to help to kick the
- 32:25Speaker 9: game up. I think I think the challenge is is
- 32:27Speaker 9: going to be privacy more so than safety. You know,
- 32:31Speaker 9: you hear about the troubles of Poor Moresby. I won't
- 32:33Speaker 9: sure anything. The government needs to put right infrastructure in place, roads,
- 32:38Speaker 9: there's a lot of need over there. But I think
- 32:41Speaker 9: in terms of safety and living in a compound and
- 32:43Speaker 9: you're going to be locked up, driven by security guys
- 32:45Speaker 9: every year, that's just completely blown out of proportion to
- 32:49Speaker 9: you know, make people talk and to drive a bit
- 32:52Speaker 9: of fear into players. And I just thought, you know,
- 32:54Speaker 9: that's probably a bit inappropriate to say and intensive because
- 32:57Speaker 9: you've got ten million people living there. They don't kill
- 33:00Speaker 9: each other every day, peaceful, happy lives. But you have
- 33:04Speaker 9: your young opportunities because there's you know, limited amount of jobs.
- 33:09Speaker 9: You know, these kids they tend to commit petty crimes,
- 33:12Speaker 9: which is you know, hold up here and there. They
- 33:14Speaker 9: don't mean any harm they don't want to hurt anyone,
- 33:17Speaker 9: they don't want to kill anyone, but you know the
- 33:19Speaker 9: same as here, they just want to eat, like.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Exactly. You want the same for community page. No, I
- 33:25Speaker 1: don't know there's taken on it exactly.
- 33:30Speaker 5: It's the same. You open that up every you know,
- 33:33Speaker 5: every Monday, and there will be there'll be a breaking breaking.
- 33:37Speaker 1: We're breaking two and in two weeks down just down
- 33:40Speaker 1: the road, right, it happens. Yeah.
- 33:41Speaker 9: I think I think that probably the big difference is
- 33:44Speaker 9: a lot of our conveniences here. You know, you can
- 33:46Speaker 9: drive down to the shop get whatever you want. I think
- 33:48Speaker 9: there'll be challenges there, but they're trying to accommodate for
- 33:50Speaker 9: that within the hotel as well. So in terms of
- 33:53Speaker 9: being looked after for players and you know, the support
- 33:57Speaker 9: team of the NL, I think they're going to be
- 33:59Speaker 9: very well looked after. Will there be challenges for sure,
- 34:03Speaker 9: will they have will they run into you know, some
- 34:07Speaker 9: friction here here and there with the public. I think
- 34:08Speaker 9: that will be very minimal. But in terms of experience,
- 34:12Speaker 9: I think p AND is about to open up a
- 34:14Speaker 9: whole new world for the rugby league world in terms
- 34:16Speaker 9: of you know, just perspective gratitude for every convenient thing
- 34:20Speaker 9: that we have in our life because it's a whole
- 34:22Speaker 9: new world. And but and also inverse that I think
- 34:26Speaker 9: is going to do a lot of economic and social
- 34:28Speaker 9: it's benefit for the country.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's a win win.
- 34:32Speaker 5: Have you had any initial conversations with anyone up there
- 34:35Speaker 5: for the chiefs and jumping on board?
- 34:40Speaker 9: Definitely not coaching, say I think I've done my tres stressful.
- 34:45Speaker 9: I've coached by under seven's my son's coaching for lot.
- 34:55Speaker 9: Yeah it is. But in terms of being involved, yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 9: there's been no formal offer or anything like that, but
- 35:03Speaker 9: just casual conversations about.
- 35:05Speaker 5: You do it.
- 35:05Speaker 6: Because I'm not saying this because you know, I really
- 35:08Speaker 6: like it. I feel like we're good Moses. But I
- 35:10Speaker 6: think you're a great role model, like for B and
- 35:12Speaker 6: G kids, I really do. I think they're the perfect.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I really do. I just try and think.
- 35:18Speaker 6: I think you are great morals, you work hard, and
- 35:20Speaker 6: you're a realist like with it all, and I think
- 35:23Speaker 6: you'd be perfect for them.
- 35:24Speaker 1: If they offered that, would you be over took?
- 35:26Speaker 9: I think I'll send that clip to the Prime Minister
- 35:31Speaker 9: and Shamas.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I've never met him.
- 35:33Speaker 9: But yeah, in terms of getting involved, I'd love to,
- 35:36Speaker 9: you know, on some level, whatever that looks like, I'd
- 35:39Speaker 9: be happy to assist.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Uh.
- 35:41Speaker 9: Probably understand the the landscape and the culture a bit
- 35:45Speaker 9: more than most of the former NROL players that have
- 35:48Speaker 9: not involved them, and so there hasn't been too many
- 35:52Speaker 9: NRL players come through the system, you know, besides Marcus
- 35:55Speaker 9: By Adrian Land, you know justin Oldham now who understand
- 35:59Speaker 9: both cultures and being able to mix the two in it.
- 36:02Speaker 9: And I'm not saying that there's there's no people who
- 36:05Speaker 9: don't understand that, but I think getting a players perspective
- 36:09Speaker 9: and probably more importantly, the partner's perspective on what they're
- 36:13Speaker 9: what they're too, cultural, what the two sides are like
- 36:17Speaker 9: in terms of culture, because I think that the tougher
- 36:20Speaker 9: cell is going to be the players, wives and partners. Yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 9: living conditions, you know, you know what boys are like.
- 36:25Speaker 9: We we go and train, get them at three or
- 36:27Speaker 9: four o'clock and we're tired. We don't want to do
- 36:30Speaker 9: that much anyway in the pre season. Maybe the odd
- 36:32Speaker 9: fishing golf here and there, which is available. But I
- 36:36Speaker 9: think in terms of keeping the girls entertaining, throughout the
- 36:40Speaker 9: day or keeping them busy.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I think that's going to be the challenge for.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Them because it's not necessarily going to be work for
- 36:45Speaker 4: them for the for the wives and partners, it might
- 36:48Speaker 4: be harder for them to get work in marketing or
- 36:50Speaker 4: whatever it is they're doing.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Yeah, would that be the challenge? You certainly have a.
- 36:54Speaker 9: Lot of the XBAC community is pretty big over there,
- 36:56Speaker 9: so huge, so they were linking with, you know, the
- 36:59Speaker 9: I guess the international community as well to see if
- 37:02Speaker 9: there's any opportunities or what they're working.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Global organizations that have HQs up there, pup Guinea because
- 37:11Speaker 5: it's it's a country of great resources. They've got gas oil, goal,
- 37:21Speaker 5: they're one of the biggest exporters of vanilla. There's a
- 37:25Speaker 5: great coffee export industry up there as well.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It's an incredible country at the end of the day,
- 37:31Speaker 1: and like huge opportunities.
- 37:33Speaker 5: I think that's what I believe the chiefs need to
- 37:37Speaker 5: really do is lean on some of the local support
- 37:40Speaker 5: and some of those big international companies that work in
- 37:43Speaker 5: and out of Pumping New Guinea to really help some
- 37:46Speaker 5: of the wives maybe get some jobs and roles in
- 37:49Speaker 5: those industries.
- 37:50Speaker 4: What about the kids media, like rugby league players like
- 37:53Speaker 4: having kids as early as possible. But yeah, so there'll
- 38:02Speaker 4: be plenty of players that want to go that have kids.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Are there schools there that are going to be able
- 38:05Speaker 4: to look after them or how they're going to work out.
- 38:07Speaker 9: Actually, you know, I'm not involved formally, so I don't
- 38:09Speaker 9: want to speak on behalf of the P and G
- 38:11Speaker 9: chiefs either, but you know, just the casual conversations here
- 38:13Speaker 9: and there. Speaking at Georgia owns the hotel, the resort.
- 38:17Speaker 9: He's saying they're going to do the best they can
- 38:19Speaker 9: to provide educational opportunities for the families within the within
- 38:24Speaker 9: the hotel. But then you know kids, the families want
- 38:27Speaker 9: to send their kids to school. There's schools over there,
- 38:30Speaker 9: international schools actually. But I think, you know, well, the
- 38:34Speaker 9: kids get a bit more attention at school because their
- 38:36Speaker 9: dads playing NRL for the team, absolutely, and I think
- 38:41Speaker 9: there will be you know, if anything, they're probably the
- 38:44Speaker 9: teacher would be a bit more biased towards looking after them.
- 38:53Speaker 1: For a few free tickets all the time. What if
- 38:56Speaker 1: your dad misses the vital tackle?
- 39:04Speaker 6: You know, for me, do you think it's it's just
- 39:06Speaker 6: the initial excitement part of it.
- 39:09Speaker 1: It's so it's going to be so big for that,
- 39:11Speaker 1: for that community.
- 39:12Speaker 6: Do you believe it's just once they get over that
- 39:15Speaker 6: the initial excitement part and it becomes just normal life.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you think it'll just all this will just
- 39:20Speaker 1: be white noise at the end of the day. I agree.
- 39:22Speaker 9: I think it'll take a few years at least. Law
- 39:24Speaker 9: Familiarity says you know around your you know, you know
- 39:28Speaker 9: if you're going to another team or you guys didn't
- 39:31Speaker 9: at the Bronx places on. But I used to going
- 39:33Speaker 9: to another NRL team just wondering how am I going
- 39:35Speaker 9: to fit in? But then when you get there a
- 39:37Speaker 9: week or two and it's kind of like a new
- 39:38Speaker 9: home and you get a nickname, you find a new home.
- 39:43Speaker 9: And I think that's going to be certainly the case
- 39:45Speaker 9: for people in Port Moresby. You know, everything's going to
- 39:50Speaker 9: become familiar, the team will be there. But like you said,
- 39:53Speaker 9: the initial excitement, I don't know how long that will last.
- 39:56Speaker 5: But uh, when you move to Sanford, mate, everyone was
- 40:00Speaker 5: excited to see corey Okes living in Sandford.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Now they don't care. I didn't come.
- 40:04Speaker 5: After eight months, I don't and I live there exactly
- 40:07Speaker 5: but they already knew.
- 40:08Speaker 9: I was like, bang, yeah, but it's kind of like,
- 40:11Speaker 9: you know, whatever community around it's kind of like, how
- 40:14Speaker 9: you going, mate, Yeah, that's.
- 40:16Speaker 1: It attracted to fishermen, I imagine like players, I want
- 40:20Speaker 1: to go.
- 40:21Speaker 9: I think if you love your fishing, it's endless over there.
- 40:24Speaker 9: And golf, Yeah, golf. There's a couple of there. Go
- 40:29Speaker 9: up to Coca Po, Nice Coca. That's a hidden gem
- 40:33Speaker 9: up there too. So I think I think probably what
- 40:35Speaker 9: the I think the thing that excites me the most
- 40:37Speaker 9: about this NRL team kind of pork is the tourism
- 40:41Speaker 9: opportunity across the country as well. You know, there's that
- 40:43Speaker 9: many eyes on the NRL. I think it'll be able
- 40:46Speaker 9: to expose a couple of other exports across the country.
- 40:49Speaker 5: I've got mates to go up there and they go
- 40:51Speaker 5: on surfing trips and they don't tell anyone because they
- 40:53Speaker 5: wanted to, like they don't want it to become the
- 40:55Speaker 5: next Bari where you can't even get away, but you
- 40:58Speaker 5: can't even drop in. I've got friends that go out
- 41:00Speaker 5: there diving. They're diving up there for fishing, like it's
- 41:05Speaker 5: an incredible it's an incredible country. So you go to
- 41:08Speaker 5: sun Corps Stadium, you go to watch the Broncos play,
- 41:11Speaker 5: and you know, we average forty thousand people to every
- 41:14Speaker 5: game and that's not even filling the stadium. What is
- 41:17Speaker 5: it going to be like in import more when they
- 41:20Speaker 5: have the first game up there?
- 41:22Speaker 9: Well, that first game, I think the first that you
- 41:24Speaker 9: were the first game in the ticket I think there's
- 41:26Speaker 9: going to be more people outside the state.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Is the stadium bigger the stadium, well, I think.
- 41:32Speaker 9: It's only fifteen thousand that have to Yeah, I think so. Yeah,
- 41:36Speaker 9: But in terms of you know, ticket sales, I think
- 41:39Speaker 9: they will go as soon as they comes, sell more
- 41:41Speaker 9: tickets than the actually yeah, but yeah, it's going to
- 41:44Speaker 9: be huge. The country is really excited for the team.
- 41:49Speaker 9: There's been mixed, uh you know, reactions on ground with
- 41:53Speaker 9: the NROL team coming and talk about like why are
- 41:57Speaker 9: we building our hospital schools, ROAs, Why are we're prioritizing that.
- 42:00Speaker 9: But I think that's slowly changing now to the opportunity
- 42:03Speaker 9: that this NRAL team is going to bring to the country.
- 42:06Speaker 9: Help with that a lot of accountability to the country. Yeah,
- 42:09Speaker 9: you know, at least pick some of these things up.
- 42:11Speaker 9: But in terms of that first game, and I'll book
- 42:14Speaker 9: book my ticket as soon as it comes out.
- 42:16Speaker 1: You're not wrong.
- 42:17Speaker 5: More eyes on Port Moresby and pap New Guinea itself
- 42:21Speaker 5: from just from watching rugby league will definitely make some
- 42:25Speaker 5: of those infrastructure things. Yeah, you know, those projects come
- 42:29Speaker 5: through a lot faster as well.
- 42:30Speaker 1: But I don't know how, because you know, you're a
- 42:32Speaker 1: lot younger than I am.
- 42:33Speaker 5: I remember going up to Port Moresby and played my
- 42:36Speaker 5: first game up there for the under nineteen Kangaroos, and
- 42:41Speaker 5: this was two thousand and two thousand and three.
- 42:44Speaker 1: We went up there and played and this.
- 42:46Speaker 5: Is the old Wayne Wayne was there to.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Wayne the painting that is awful.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah, did Wayne Takers No, actually his brother did was
- 43:09Speaker 3: up there, but this was the old sat I report
- 43:12Speaker 3: was in and they had trees at the end of
- 43:14Speaker 3: the field and everyone was in the trees.
- 43:16Speaker 1: There wasn't enough seats.
- 43:17Speaker 5: And like you talk about a country that absolutely loves
- 43:20Speaker 5: rugby league, it's the only country in the world that
- 43:23Speaker 5: it's their national sport.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Yeah right, and that's how I say love it.
- 43:28Speaker 5: What do you say to people or what can you
- 43:31Speaker 5: say to players to give them some reassurance at the
- 43:34Speaker 5: end of the day, because there are so many nasayers
- 43:37Speaker 5: out there, and again, like you said, these are people
- 43:39Speaker 5: that have never even been there before. I've heard this,
- 43:42Speaker 5: I've heard that, you know, I've heard I've heard bad
- 43:44Speaker 5: things about going to London. I've heard bad things about
- 43:47Speaker 5: going to Paris. I still like would go to those places.
- 43:51Speaker 5: But because it's, you know, one of these countries which
- 43:54Speaker 5: isn't a big well known country, what's what's a bit
- 43:57Speaker 5: of a reassurance you give to players but also player
- 44:01Speaker 5: managers to be able to have that conversation with their play.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Well, a couple of things.
- 44:05Speaker 9: First, funny is go on TikTok and search young people
- 44:08Speaker 9: traveling PNG on their own and not just poor Moresby,
- 44:12Speaker 9: literally around the country. They've got a phone on the hand,
- 44:14Speaker 9: camera recording themselves, you know, bloggers, YouTubers, young young white girls,
- 44:20Speaker 9: you know, twenty twenty one.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Just to contact yeah, young guys.
- 44:32Speaker 9: Yeah, traveling the country recording themselves.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I feel a bit of reassurance.
- 44:37Speaker 9: Then, you know, they probably put a lot of us
- 44:39Speaker 9: popping new unions to shame, thinking it's we have this
- 44:41Speaker 9: perception about it being a bit more dangerous outside of
- 44:44Speaker 9: the city as well.
- 44:45Speaker 1: So that's opened my eyes up.
- 44:47Speaker 9: To be honest, in terms of getting players over there,
- 44:51Speaker 9: if you're enticed by the just the monetary value of
- 44:55Speaker 9: the contract itself, it's going to be very hard for
- 44:57Speaker 9: you because I think you have to be someone who's
- 44:59Speaker 9: a bit more open to adventure and.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Culture.
- 45:03Speaker 9: And yeah, if you have doubts, jump on the plane.
- 45:07Speaker 9: It's the same time as it takes to go to
- 45:10Speaker 9: Melbourne or less than Perth. So two hours forty five
- 45:14Speaker 9: minutes to get on a plane go over there, and
- 45:16Speaker 9: you don't just go from hotel to footage field, to
- 45:19Speaker 9: golf course to fishing stop at the building our market.
- 45:24Speaker 9: You have a chat to the people and you will
- 45:25Speaker 9: realize these are some of the nicest people men in
- 45:28Speaker 9: your life. And that's the majority of the country.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Do you have your.
- 45:32Speaker 9: Little troublemakers running around looking for a bit of two
- 45:35Speaker 9: dollars here and there.
- 45:36Speaker 1: That'll, yeah, you do.
- 45:38Speaker 9: But you know, in my opinion, if if they're doing
- 45:41Speaker 9: that to an NL player, their safety is a be
- 45:43Speaker 9: a concern amongst the public. That yeah, yeah, yeah, So yeah, anyway,
- 45:52Speaker 9: thanks for coming on.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I really appreciate it.
- 45:55Speaker 6: I've been wanting to get you on since I've seen
- 45:57Speaker 6: all these people talking about that never have been there,
- 45:59Speaker 6: and I remember where you are into each other and
- 46:01Speaker 6: had a bit of an argument like yeah, no argument
- 46:03Speaker 6: against it was just about at that we both agree,
- 46:07Speaker 6: you know, we dispoth agree that we fight.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it pisces me off because it's also you know,
- 46:16Speaker 1: we want to sell stories as well. So I'm trying.
- 46:18Speaker 9: I'm sure I don't think that will be the last time. Yeah,
- 46:21Speaker 9: And I don't think I'll squash any of those myself.
- 46:23Speaker 9: And it'll be ongoing because you know, there's going to
- 46:25Speaker 9: be many other issues that come up in time. As all,
- 46:30Speaker 9: PG is not a perfect country. There's a lot of
- 46:33Speaker 9: social issues there. But what I'm excited about, I'm excited
- 46:36Speaker 9: for those issues being addressed by the NROL and I'm
- 46:40Speaker 9: shining some light on it because you know, Broncos have
- 46:42Speaker 9: a pretty powerful brand and do a lot of good
- 46:45Speaker 9: community works.
- 46:46Speaker 5: Apart from your your pride and passion for p G, mate,
- 46:49Speaker 5: what else are you doing with your life at the moment.
- 46:51Speaker 9: So I've got a few clients in PNG that are
- 46:54Speaker 9: going insists within the corporate world say I just turn
- 46:57Speaker 9: up and say if if you're in a footy team, uh,
- 47:01Speaker 9: you know, talking about feedback and stuff like that.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Just to assist with them. I just tell them what
- 47:06Speaker 1: we used to do, transferable skills from league over and
- 47:11Speaker 1: yeah business.
- 47:11Speaker 9: Well yeah, just assisting them with the team culture and
- 47:15Speaker 9: hard work. A lot of the stories from our air
- 47:18Speaker 9: days coming to play and they seem to enjoy that.
- 47:20Speaker 1: So a lot of work in that space. And then
- 47:23Speaker 1: podcast yourself as well, you kind of it's a bit of.
- 47:26Speaker 9: A hobby on the side, just you know, get on
- 47:29Speaker 9: there and talk a bit of smack and you see,
- 47:31Speaker 9: you see if anyone's listening.
- 47:32Speaker 1: To it, what's.
- 47:34Speaker 9: It was called the Day with Meat podcast, but it's
- 47:36Speaker 9: now beyond the field on the field a little collapsed.
- 47:42Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, so yeah, so just the coaching seven soccer
- 47:47Speaker 9: going around. That's probably the hardest gig so far.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I've done one.
- 47:53Speaker 9: We have two training sessions so far. So got the
- 47:56Speaker 9: year ahead, yeah, under under seven soccer at least. Yeah,
- 47:59Speaker 9: it's a tough gig.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:01Speaker 4: I'm assuming one of them is your kids.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Yeah, to see your heart just get back to that.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Does that? Thanks? Thanks boys, I appreciate it. Thank you brother.
- 48:19Speaker 4: Ye time for a round of a porpoisal pony. I'll
- 48:30Speaker 4: be quiz master there's some audio question.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Thanks Bruce. Your name is it a lb is? There
- 48:35Speaker 1: is there a multiple choice above? They shouldn't know. I
- 48:43Speaker 1: think you should just know the answer. I think bring
- 48:46Speaker 1: him out. Bring the prizes account prizes. So these thank you,
- 48:50Speaker 1: seven eleven even these are the prizes for porpois or
- 48:53Speaker 1: pony winners. Ones for me.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Okay, all right, so your name is your buzzer? Question one?
- 49:01Speaker 4: Who scored the first try in round twenty four in
- 49:05Speaker 4: twenty twenty five? Dolphin the broncos Corey yes, Cory No, Sammy.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Uh, I'm going to say it was Jermain Asako. Both wrong.
- 49:21Speaker 1: The hammer.
- 49:22Speaker 4: It's an easy guess. Oh, because was a weaponar all right,
- 49:26Speaker 4: no points, that's right. That's okay, question too. Moving on,
- 49:30Speaker 4: all right, this is a non football question. You've probably
- 49:32Speaker 4: got a chance the this animal can recognize itself.
- 49:36Speaker 1: In a mirror? Sam, No, it can? Yeah? Which one is?
- 49:42Speaker 4: No, it can though you just said this animal can
- 49:45Speaker 4: recognize a trait link to self awareness.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Yes, it is a gorilla.
- 49:52Speaker 4: You know the name of the game is dolphin pose, Yes, yeah, dolphin.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll take it. Okay. What is the difference between
- 50:01Speaker 1: a porpoise and a dolphin. I don't know they cousins.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I think that.
- 50:05Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, okay, I don't know. Yeah, yes, that's one
- 50:11Speaker 6: for me. The next one's pony. Then I've got the answer.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Painting audio question audio question.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Okay, so who scored this try in round twenty four
- 50:22Speaker 4: last year?
- 50:26Speaker 1: Now work you get a short time.
- 50:32Speaker 5: Scap It is on this contest at times pretty steps. Yes,
- 50:43Speaker 5: that's it's got to be a steaks.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Yes, oh yes, yeah, Mother.
- 50:49Speaker 5: The Great dangan ain't on comment there. I love the
- 50:53Speaker 5: remix of that too. I was stuck between game and him.
- 50:56Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, he just he leaves for Dolphins games
- 51:00Speaker 1: like he's going to go. Especially this is why you
- 51:03Speaker 1: played last week in the second half?
- 51:06Speaker 4: What was the score from that game? One question for
- 51:08Speaker 4: that that around twenty four last year, Corey, Yes, Cory, Yes,
- 51:15Speaker 4: I'm going to go twenty six two incorrect?
- 51:20Speaker 1: More points? More?
- 51:22Speaker 5: Oh please, sir can I it was thirty six thirty.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Close up incorrect, thirty eight twenty eight Dolphins.
- 51:30Speaker 1: So Broncos won thirty eight twenty eight.
- 51:32Speaker 5: We're both I needed to say two from there. Put
- 51:34Speaker 5: it over there. We both need yeah, Okay. On the
- 51:37Speaker 5: question five, what's a score check. We all go, Sam,
- 51:41Speaker 5: he's got two points, Corey's on zero. Still, yeah, you've
- 51:44Speaker 5: still got enough. You can still come back. This animal
- 51:47Speaker 5: can shut down half of its brain.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Cory buzzed with Sam. Yes, Sam, that would be a dolphin.
- 51:58Speaker 4: That is correct, obviously, yep, so that they can rest
- 52:03Speaker 4: while staying alert today.
- 52:05Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I do that normally.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Half my brain shout off all the time, always preserving.
- 52:13Speaker 1: But I can't wait to use it. And I love
- 52:15Speaker 1: to know what Question six.
- 52:18Speaker 4: In the first ever Battle of Brisbane three years ago,
- 52:21Speaker 4: whose home game was it?
- 52:22Speaker 1: Corey? Yes, Corey Dolphins. Yes, correct, you're on the gather?
- 52:26Speaker 1: But whose house was it? Was it the gage? I
- 52:31Speaker 1: believe it was. No, it wasn't.
- 52:36Speaker 4: It wasn't is that's uncle bonus point. This is bonus
- 52:40Speaker 4: point for you only, Corey, because it's a bonus point.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Which player didn't play in that game because of suspension?
- 52:47Speaker 1: Corey? Yes, incorrect. You know it's Emmy. No, I had
- 52:55Speaker 1: no idea. I was just trying to put him off,
- 52:57Speaker 1: had no idea. You know it was it was a
- 53:01Speaker 1: big name signing for him for the Dolphins.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Came over the storm, Yeah, Lee, because he took someone's
