- 0:26Speaker 3: Last night I had a great dream. Great. Well, when
- 0:28Speaker 3: I say a dream, I mean the entire time I
- 0:31Speaker 3: was in bed with my eyes closed. It was all
- 0:35Speaker 3: doing invoicing. I was doing invoicing. That's just the whole night.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Yeah, well great while asleep, right yeah yeah, yeah, okay.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Because that's what I was doing before I went to bed,
- 0:45Speaker 3: and then just do that all night. Wake up. Whoa,
- 0:48Speaker 3: Let's try and clear that out, get rid of that invoicing,
- 0:51Speaker 3: beg to sleep, do some more invoicing. That's so weird,
- 0:56Speaker 3: isn't it? Brains man? What isn't the human body and
- 1:01Speaker 3: incredible thing? Fellas? But it'd be good if you could
- 1:03Speaker 3: just do a couple of tweaks, just a few reno's
- 1:06Speaker 3: on it, just to sort it out.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I could modulate more the dreams that
- 1:14Speaker 1: I have because there's shocks. There's shockers.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Only once in my life that I have the knowledge.
- 1:21Speaker 3: At the time, I was like, oh, oh no, I'm
- 1:24Speaker 3: in a dream. I'm and that was It was great
- 1:28Speaker 3: but devastating because it was also like I won the
- 1:31Speaker 3: lottery or something incredible. That guys I hang on Big
- 1:34Speaker 3: cast is like, you know and well into paranormal or
- 1:37Speaker 3: broken Wood or something like that.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, no, broken would you're dreaming, mate?
- 1:42Speaker 4: That would be a dream.
- 1:43Speaker 1: That's the top not start I'm saying.
- 1:45Speaker 3: But then I was like, oh no, no, this is
- 1:47Speaker 3: a dream. Fuck, it's a show. Fuck it. And then
- 1:50Speaker 3: I wake up and I just had my life.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Yeah, you woke up, you looked over, you saw your wife,
- 1:55Speaker 4: your your daughter, and your house. Fuck.
- 1:57Speaker 3: That interesting there. We probably can't do it on the radio.
- 2:01Speaker 3: But the school, my daughter's school was locked down. Oh today,
- 2:05Speaker 3: she was home sick, fortunately, But there was a gunman
- 2:09Speaker 3: in the area. Oh Jesus, a gunman.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Or person that happened to me when I was a
- 2:14Speaker 4: high school remember that.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Really? Yeah, just once though, there was in the area
- 2:18Speaker 3: and it turned out it was somebody on our street
- 2:22Speaker 3: who was on his property with his baby going shooting pigeons,
- 2:26Speaker 3: right and play that's backs at his place, must back
- 2:29Speaker 3: onto the school. So they had to lock it down. Sure,
- 2:31Speaker 3: and I was like, oh, well, sweet less, he's not
- 2:33Speaker 3: at school. And then it came through. It's like, oh,
- 2:34Speaker 3: it's on such and such a road. It's like, well
- 2:36Speaker 3: that's where we lived. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I all sorted
- 2:41Speaker 3: in the end.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Good stuff?
- 2:42Speaker 3: How good?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Why do you think you're tired, Keezy? Just life in general.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:47Speaker 4: You've had a pretty busy couple of weeks of doing stuff, sure,
- 2:51Speaker 4: like mentally not physical stuff, but mentally exhausting creative stuff. Yes,
- 2:57Speaker 4: And then it finished off with a jump off the harborridge.
- 2:59Speaker 4: And then but.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You haven't quite emotionally recovered from.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I probably have. And then Saturday where it was like
- 3:05Speaker 4: a thirtieth of a few beers and there, and then
- 3:06Speaker 4: Sunday was chill, and then today was the first day
- 3:09Speaker 4: I didn't have anything other than the show on in
- 3:10Speaker 4: a while. Yes, and my brain just going I might
- 3:13Speaker 4: just switch off just for Today's for a wee bit.
- 3:16Speaker 4: So I've been gardening. I'm not really gardening to be
- 3:19Speaker 4: fair more digging a hole before I put some gardenaging down,
- 3:22Speaker 4: a really big long, six meter long thing with a
- 3:25Speaker 4: little trowel and you know, trying to measure it up
- 3:27Speaker 4: and get it to the right height.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Good stuff, mate, it's hellish.
- 3:32Speaker 3: It sounds like hell.
- 3:34Speaker 4: What invoicing sounds like hell to be?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Oh?
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yeah, well that was that was a dream. Yeah, I mean,
- 3:38Speaker 3: don't worry. There's nothing I hate more than invoice.
- 3:41Speaker 1: When you're doing it in your dream, what was what
- 3:43Speaker 1: was your emotional state?
- 3:45Speaker 3: That's exactly what I'm in my emotional status when I
- 3:48Speaker 3: have to do it when i'm which is annoyed because
- 3:52Speaker 3: it's part of the business. But what I want to do,
- 3:54Speaker 3: and I've heard this conversation with my way, I don't
- 3:56Speaker 3: want to have anything to do with it. Sure, I
- 3:58Speaker 3: don't want to know anything. She's like, you got to
- 3:59Speaker 3: know it, so yeah, I'm happy knowing about it. I
- 4:01Speaker 3: just don't want to do it. Yes, So that is
- 4:03Speaker 3: my dream is But.
- 4:06Speaker 4: You know what I mean. Now you know about it,
- 4:07Speaker 4: you know how it all works. So if you do
- 4:10Speaker 4: handed off.
- 4:10Speaker 3: The problem is you've got to pay somebody if you
- 4:12Speaker 3: hand it off. Yes, the problem his invoices, who's paying his.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Pugs do it for free? I reckon it's like work
- 4:18Speaker 4: experiences totally.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I mean, I can do it. If it's too much.
- 4:23Speaker 3: That would be great.
- 4:25Speaker 4: The Whole Archy Big Show week days from four on
- 4:28Speaker 4: Radio Hurdarchy They Big Show Podcast.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I'm really good at him voicing. Oh yeah, just.
- 4:36Speaker 4: The guy who hasn't claimed a single expense in the
- 4:39Speaker 4: he's been at Darky because he doesn't know how to
- 4:41Speaker 4: do it.
- 4:42Speaker 3: You like how you just x. He hasn't to think
- 4:44Speaker 3: when I.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Look back on my when I look back at my
- 4:48Speaker 1: career and I'm talking about stuff outside of the acting
- 4:52Speaker 1: sort of where my agent used to do all that,
- 4:54Speaker 1: Obviously it's been a shocker.
- 4:58Speaker 4: It's been a hunting wise yeat.
- 5:00Speaker 1: We are not even that I was doing anything wrong
- 5:02Speaker 1: with the people I was. That I was constantly in
- 5:06Speaker 1: these ridiculous fights and stupid scenarios of going no, hang on,
- 5:10Speaker 1: what's what? And even today I still have some issues
- 5:15Speaker 1: with invoicing.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I wonder if it's the most common thing in the world,
- 5:18Speaker 3: the most common industry in the world where people are
- 5:21Speaker 3: shockingly bad at it. Yes, accountants or so called accountants,
- 5:25Speaker 3: often bookkeepers, but most of the ones that I've ever
- 5:28Speaker 3: come across.
- 5:28Speaker 4: A terrible question. Okay, so you know GST. Yes, So
- 5:32Speaker 4: I'm GST registered. Okay, so you add fifteen percent to everything.
- 5:36Speaker 4: So let's say I do a job and I get
- 5:38Speaker 4: one hundred dollars. I then charge them one hundred and
- 5:40Speaker 4: fifteen dollars. Correct that person when they say, hey, how
- 5:45Speaker 4: much is this going to cost? And I say it'll
- 5:46Speaker 4: be one hundred dollars? Do I then say plus GST?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yes?
- 5:50Speaker 4: And you know what I mean. So all of a sudden,
- 5:51Speaker 4: because they're dealing with me, it goes up by fifteen dollars.
- 5:54Speaker 3: How do they get that back? It all comes back
- 5:56Speaker 3: at the other end.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Right, So they have to be GST registered for it
- 6:01Speaker 4: to be sweet.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Oh yes, yes, okay, because that's what makes it makes
- 6:06Speaker 5: no Yeah, it makes no end in the wash at
- 6:09Speaker 5: the end when you can't do all your claiming and
- 6:10Speaker 5: that it all comes out you.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Because I'm just interested about that.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Well.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I had a scenario that I told you guys a
- 6:14Speaker 1: little while ago where with the GST side of things,
- 6:17Speaker 1: where the person that I was invoicing was saying, it's.
- 6:22Speaker 2: You.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Your GST is based on what you receive after tax,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and I.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Say, no, it's not.
- 6:27Speaker 1: It's not what you receive in total for your fee
- 6:30Speaker 1: plus GST. And I had that argument with that person
- 6:34Speaker 1: probably four times, and each time it was a who
- 6:37Speaker 1: of an argument and they finally went, oh, no, you're right.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But then it happened again. Yeah, and you're like, no, no,
- 6:44Speaker 1: we've had this conversation. That's not how.
- 6:45Speaker 3: It's surprising how it comes up. Yes, we've just changed
- 6:48Speaker 3: account and stilled the conversation. It's crazy.
- 6:52Speaker 4: So let's say it was one hundred dollars and you
- 6:53Speaker 4: want to take twenty percent off for your withholding tax,
- 6:56Speaker 4: so it becomes eighty dollars. Are they saying you pay
- 6:58Speaker 4: your GST on the eighty dollars on, yes, and not
- 7:00Speaker 4: the one hundred. Yes, that's but surely they're knowingly doing it. Yeah,
- 7:04Speaker 4: well it's this person.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It wasn't good at the time, but I tell you what,
- 7:08Speaker 1: it's been a game changer for me getting an accountant.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And because then I because what you're talking about is
- 7:14Speaker 1: you having to deal with all that shit. The great
- 7:16Speaker 1: thing about having an accountant is you go there, you go,
- 7:19Speaker 1: thanks mate, I'll pay you X amount of dollars and
- 7:24Speaker 1: he does all work and I want to think about
- 7:26Speaker 1: it ever again?
- 7:27Speaker 4: Do you use zero? Yep, I've got to start using that.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Apparently it's pretty good because I've x eer that.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It's accounting software.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Oh right, okay, but I'm running like a real tidy
- 7:38Speaker 4: Google drive, Google doc set up. Everything's unfold as, everything's done,
- 7:41Speaker 4: all my spreadsheets that I made myself do all the
- 7:43Speaker 4: tax and stuff for me. It's just the actual end
- 7:46Speaker 4: of the year getting as much value out of my
- 7:48Speaker 4: GST return as possible. That's the part I need help with.
- 7:51Speaker 1: How often do you pay GEST?
- 7:52Speaker 4: Every six months?
- 7:53Speaker 3: Oh?
- 7:53Speaker 1: I see, I do it every two months?
- 7:55Speaker 4: Yeah, which is what the accountant was saying you should do.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Right, we went from two to go this will be
- 7:59Speaker 3: entry chap.
- 8:00Speaker 1: But we went from two to fascinating.
- 8:02Speaker 3: But when it was two months, we used to go
- 8:03Speaker 3: through everything that the account has done to go and
- 8:05Speaker 3: now you've missed this, this and this, we should be
- 8:08Speaker 3: including that, so there should be all this other stuff.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But when it's six months and you've got six months
- 8:12Speaker 3: worth of you're just like fuck it, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:16Speaker 3: or whatever. I'm not going through there.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I I when I first went into my accountant because
- 8:22Speaker 1: my my taxes were a shambles.
- 8:24Speaker 4: And he kind of laughed at all.
- 8:27Speaker 1: It was still it was an absolute shit show, you know,
- 8:31Speaker 1: when he went, Okay, well this is a problem, not
- 8:34Speaker 1: because I was doing anything wrong. It was just a shambles.
- 8:37Speaker 4: I'm picturing you know who was the guy that came in,
- 8:40Speaker 4: The Irish guy we interviewed Hi Wilson's view ever, Dylan Moran. Yes,
- 8:44Speaker 4: there's like the I think it's the first episode of
- 8:46Speaker 4: Black Books, or maybe the second. He finally gets an
- 8:49Speaker 4: accountant to try and help with his receipts, little bits
- 8:51Speaker 4: of papers, paper in his pockets, and one that's like
- 8:54Speaker 4: stuff is just stuff he's written down for, like a
- 8:56Speaker 4: sandwich or something. That's what I'm picturing. You used to
- 8:59Speaker 4: be like, yeah, kind of kind of like that, and
- 9:02Speaker 4: it's just an absolute shambles.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But I just used to have this irrational fear of
- 9:06Speaker 1: the inland revenue, absolutely, and I'd always here on the
- 9:10Speaker 1: safe side. And my accountant was like, why are you
- 9:11Speaker 1: doing that. You're totally entitled to do these things, and
- 9:14Speaker 1: I'll be like, oh, I just don't want to, you know, No, no.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Leave it to me.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I can talk to them and we'll sort it out.
- 9:22Speaker 4: And he's your current one, yes, right, and now you're
- 9:24Speaker 4: takeingy boo.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 4: And then is that the account that processes me getting
- 9:29Speaker 4: paid after you've got me a gig.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well that hasn't happened yet obviously.
- 9:33Speaker 4: But and then does he prost that for free? Process that? No,
- 9:35Speaker 4: you'll have to pay him, right, Okay. See these are
- 9:39Speaker 4: the things that I'm learning about Mogi. Is like you
- 9:41Speaker 4: get an agent and then you've got to pay all
- 9:43Speaker 4: the stuff.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's crazy.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Sometimes you feel like you're, you know, being taken for
- 9:46Speaker 4: a ride. Almost feel like that.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I can feel like that sometimes.
- 9:51Speaker 3: On stage and out there. I'll tell you what.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Jeez, God, hey, listen to Hodarky Man four to seven
- 9:58Speaker 4: every weekday. You will love that so good, you'll honestly
- 10:02Speaker 4: you'll love it. Yeah, it's been great.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Good on you.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah,
