- 0:00Mom. Hey, I'm your host.
- 0:06Emily V. I'm an actor teacher, and a new
- 0:10mom. Once my daughter arrived, I went
- 0:12on the hunt for answers to all my questions about being a
- 0:16working actor. Mom, and what did I find?
- 0:19Well practically nothing. So here I am asking all the
- 0:22questions to try to figure out how people do it, how our
- 0:25mothers balancing and not balancing Parenthood in this
- 0:29crazy. Tree.
- 0:30Join me and my amazing guess. As a, we take a real look into
- 0:34the life of a working entertainment industry moms
- 0:37everywhere. On this episode, I'm talking
- 0:41with Aaron Ross. Oh, Aaron is just the sweetest.
- 0:44We met a million years ago, she actually did my first headshots
- 0:48in Allah, you guys. It's wild because now she is
- 0:51married. She has three beautiful
- 0:52daughters and she's living in Atlanta.
- 0:55We talked about how she moved with two kids during the Endemic
- 1:00without ever having been to Italy, and to, before they
- 1:03really took a leap of faith and it is working out for them.
- 1:07We talk about the pros and cons of being in Atlanta.
- 1:10Let me tell you, she's really selling me on Atlanta.
- 1:12You guys, we talked about getting rep in Atlanta.
- 1:16We talked about how they're also raped in LA and how that works
- 1:20to go back and forth and choosing roles that are worth
- 1:25going back for. We also talked about not being
- 1:29unable to work while she was pregnant at all because she was
- 1:33so sick. And how now that she's had her
- 1:35third and she's done, and she's really starting to get back into
- 1:39it now and how it's a little bit different now than it was,
- 1:44especially with self tapes, we talked about self taping with
- 1:48her and her husband. Her husband is also an actor and
- 1:51the struggle of self tape, as always with three children, we
- 1:56also talked about how her husband is working on.
- 2:00Tyler Perry shows and how different the Tyler Perry world
- 2:05is from regular shooting, it's pretty crazy.
- 2:09We talked about so much. It was so so good to catch up
- 2:13with her and I really hope you guys enjoy this episode with
- 2:18Aaron Ross. I'm so happy that you're here.
- 2:22It's been being a million years. You did my first headshots, when
- 2:28I moved to LA, Ha, was it your first if my first ones in La?
- 2:33I think I did it once in New York but my first actual good
- 2:36headshot because we get a, we didn't twice at least twice.
- 2:42Yeah, maybe degree. Yeah.
- 2:46Um, are you are you still doing head shots?
- 2:50No, I gave that up a while ago, but that was such a great side
- 2:56gig for so long. And I really love doing And
- 3:00especially, like, Workman, I met so many great people, you.
- 3:02I mean, it was awesome. There was just, it was a good
- 3:05side gig. Yeah.
- 3:07I love those headshots, but now looking back on it because it
- 3:10was like, almost ten years ago. Really?
- 3:14Yeah, or maybe about, yeah, I've been in La for 10 years now.
- 3:19So that's why I say that is a lot longer for me, actually.
- 3:27So that's crazy. Yeah.
- 3:30How long were you? And I like because now you're in
- 3:32Atlanta Atlanta. Yes I was in LA for a long, long
- 3:38long time, my brother back in you I was there for a long time
- 3:47and yeah and I you know did all the side hustles and the the
- 3:53bartending Forever Jones Hollywood, whoo-hoo.
- 3:58I know I love it, I love it. I haven't been back in two
- 4:00years. I'm so sad.
- 4:01I want to get back there and see everybody eat all the yummy
- 4:04food. But yeah.
- 4:07So we so I start and I did the headshots and which was great
- 4:13because I actually, I would was able to do my own because I
- 4:16would just set it up the same way that I would shoot everybody
- 4:19else. And my now husband, I would just
- 4:22have him get behind the camera and shoot my head shot.
- 4:25So we shot each other side job. It was great.
- 4:27You guys. Oh, I need this.
- 4:28Look at my cute. Just shoot it like that day.
- 4:30Like, whatever look at was or, you know?
- 4:33Oh, that's crazy. Yeah, that works out.
- 4:35No, there's your husband's an actor too.
- 4:38Yeah. He's an actor to we had though
- 4:40the best setup for lighting, like it was the best like,
- 4:43natural light. And since then I just like me,
- 4:47even just shooting pictures of my girls and stuff.
- 4:51For whatever reason, I have this like big house now, like first
- 4:54time, living in a house as an adult.
- 4:56How weird is that? Yeah, but the Doesn't come in
- 5:00well anywhere like everybody just like it's weird I don't
- 5:03know why it's just like it's the direction.
- 5:05You know like a perfect be went over the house or the apartment
- 5:08building like a cyclist like perfectly filtered and came in
- 5:12so nice and yeah here I am. I trying to figure it out but um
- 5:17because you know you gotta shoot all the pictures of babies of
- 5:19course. Yeah.
- 5:20I mean, I'm pros and cons. I mean that's so exciting that
- 5:23you have a house. I know which I don't know how
- 5:29How people do in l.a.? Do you think so how long have
- 5:33you been in Atlanta now? So we moved here in March of
- 5:37last year, so year and a half. Oh so not too long.
- 5:41Yeah, I love you have three girls.
- 5:43I have two older sisters. You do this.
- 5:45It's just three of you. Oh my gosh.
- 5:48I love the BOGO. Great.
- 5:49I just stand there. So, the two older ones that just
- 5:52been best friends from the start.
- 5:54There were so close in age that I know.
- 5:57Yeah, that's funny months. Yeah, there there am I right?
- 6:00My oldest sister is six years older, which is about the same
- 6:04almost as yours, I guess. Yeah blows.
- 6:08Yeah, we're all like best friends.
- 6:12I love that so much. I know I'm like it's interesting
- 6:15because they are just so close and it's awesome and I really
- 6:18find it. I'm sure they will.
- 6:20Okay. So anyway by the end of that
- 6:22year we had just left LA because, you know, nothing was
- 6:25happening and we went and stayed with my family for a few months
- 6:27and then we went save his family.
- 6:29And everything was going virtual.
- 6:32So we were, we decided at that time, you know, we had
- 6:35considered moving to Atlanta prior to that.
- 6:38We had just thought about it just because we yeah, just as
- 6:42far as like buying a house and having land and you know,
- 6:46everything being a little bit more geared towards families and
- 6:51they have a huge. No entertainment industry here.
- 6:53Like it's huge. Huge market.
- 6:55So We had thought about it but I don't think it would have ever.
- 6:59I mean maybe but I don't know if it would have ever happened.
- 7:02Had the pandemic that happened first.
- 7:04Yeah so that made it possible because all of a sudden we could
- 7:08do our Ela auditions from wherever we were we didn't have
- 7:12to be in l.a. anymore and now though well the self tapes I
- 7:15don't hate. Yeah I know we were like gosh we
- 7:18could live anywhere else like move to Bahamas on.
- 7:21Oh yeah. We were like let's let's get
- 7:24this Atlanta thing. A try.
- 7:26And by the way He had never been to Atlanta.
- 7:28Oh wow. But the weird thing is is in my
- 7:31head. I was so convinced it was the
- 7:32right thing to do and I remember being I was period Delaware with
- 7:36his family and I was on a like a zoom happy hour with them.
- 7:40Some friends back home in l.a. all actresses.
- 7:42Yeah. And I was telling them I said
- 7:44like Atlanta, this is you guys, I'm telling you this is where
- 7:47it's at like we're all moving to Atlanta.
- 7:50We're gonna poof, there it is. At the time you actually could
- 7:53you can't anymore. But you could buy like a mansion
- 7:55for like three hundred. $10. Oh my God, I was like, removing
- 7:59their you guys, the it's so busy.
- 8:01We're going to be like the big fish in the small pond.
- 8:03Or what is it? Whatever.
- 8:04Yeah, and the funny thing is, is one of my friends husbands was
- 8:11listening to me, you know, to give this whole Spiel.
- 8:15Yeah, and I got him, he was he was sold.
- 8:19So he he starts looking into it and he's like, she's not wrong,
- 8:23she's not wrong because he's not actually an actor.
- 8:26She Years as my friend and but he can, he can live anywhere and
- 8:31he was kind of ready to get out of La.
- 8:34So they moved to Atlanta the same week we did.
- 8:37Oh my God. Yeah, so funny, so crazy.
- 8:42So anyway, we came down in January of last year.
- 8:47First time to Atlanta ever. We were just we, you know, we
- 8:49got as much as Vice we could before we went and we started
- 8:52driving The Burbs and looking you know, see where we could
- 8:55live and And honestly, we didn't go about it the best way.
- 9:00I think we left our being. Like, I don't think we learned
- 9:02much, like, I don't know what, I don't know what we're gonna do
- 9:05and so then we decided that we were going to come.
- 9:08So I came down by myself, for three days, and I found us a
- 9:12place like a house and we came down to March and I'm, they,
- 9:17they were, actually were much more committed than we were
- 9:18there box. They like, got out here.
- 9:20Not like, we're buying nothing but house.
- 9:22Wow. You're like, we're gonna friends
- 9:23and like, you know, test the waters.
- 9:25And now we have Regret is something so much our life,
- 9:28because if we had bought, when we came in March last year, it
- 9:31would have been half the price of the house is now God?
- 9:34Well, you never know. I mean, yeah, I'd have done
- 9:37what? Yeah, I probably would have done
- 9:41this the same thing, it's like no.
- 9:44Yeah, I mean, and there's a lot of different places you can live
- 9:47here, you know, like yeah there's a million different ways
- 9:50to do this. So we just kind of wanted to
- 9:51feel it out first and we've been filling it out now, hurry or
- 9:53not. But yeah, we actually are
- 9:55starting to look to buy. Cuz we this is we're going to
- 9:58say, oh my God, that's so exciting.
- 10:00So to hear how did that logistically work?
- 10:03Did you just like, have all your stuff in storage while you were
- 10:06staying with family for that time?
- 10:09Well, so, okay, so still in March June, we left, we went to
- 10:15Utah. July, and August, we were in
- 10:19society and that we were in Delaware and that was when we
- 10:22decided we said, you know, we're going to give this a try,
- 10:26anything a try I think and because anyway, we did, we went
- 10:28back in September and we, for that month, we packed everything
- 10:31up. We put it all in storage and we
- 10:34left in October and then when we moved down here in March we went
- 10:37back and got everything and Kate brought it across.
- 10:40Gotcha. So sorry.
- 10:42So it was all still in because we were like on the off-campus.
- 10:48I'd go back to LA. We're like maybe we're gonna
- 10:49just so hard but yeah. I'm able to buy something.
- 10:52We weren't going to stay in the same place.
- 10:53Basically, we were, we knew we weren't going to go back to LA
- 10:56for at least. A few months.
- 10:57So we just decided to put everything in storage and stuff.
- 11:00So yeah, so we brought it all over here and and then we got
- 11:06our, I got my agent, I got a chair before that was the other
- 11:09funny thing. We you know, like I said we've
- 11:12never lived here. We didn't know that much about
- 11:14it just from you know talking to people especially couldn't stuff
- 11:17but people were saying you know they're just so fewer actors
- 11:22here that it's much easier to get an agent.
- 11:24It's much easier to get And yeah we gotta an act be yes and no
- 11:30actually I was gonna say do you find that still true?
- 11:33Because I feel like yeah I feel like everyone's moving everyone
- 11:39because of that. Yeah it really.
- 11:42Is that a production already hooked here.
- 11:45It actually was a little trickier than we thought to you
- 11:49know but we got people from. It's not it's not we were like,
- 11:52wait a minute that said we did Get a great agent, both my
- 11:58husband and I and he has had his best year yet.
- 12:02That's for sure. Thing greasing do, share an
- 12:07agent. You have the same agent, you do.
- 12:10So yeah. My husband and I do too.
- 12:12It's really funny to do a little unsure about it at first but I'm
- 12:18sure you guys will. We are thinking, I don't know.
- 12:21I mean I guess there's pros and cons for sure but I mean, no,
- 12:26we're both. Happy there and it's worked out
- 12:27really great. Yeah.
- 12:29But then we were also trying to get pregnant throughout the
- 12:32whole pandemic. And and so it was kind of for
- 12:36me, I'm not the type that liked can get pregnant and work up
- 12:39until like 7 months or what. I'm so sick from day one, my
- 12:43pregnancies are so hard, so I'm basically like out the second I
- 12:46get pregnant. Like, see ya?
- 12:48Yeah, don't forget a year and a half?
- 12:51Yeah. Like I can't, I die that stinks.
- 12:56Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:56So for me, I'm like, I don't know, I it's hard, it's hard to
- 13:01kind of get momentum going start to get momentum going.
- 13:03Anyway, but for me once I kind of start having kids, which is,
- 13:07you know, basically she's going to be 6 in January and then you
- 13:13know, I was pregnant with her for that and I must prior.
- 13:16So it's been a it's been a few years where I just kind of feel
- 13:18like I'm I'm out of the game a lot, but commercially, I was
- 13:23always in the game and commercially it was so.
- 13:26Great for me. And Allah and that's been the
- 13:29weirdest thing is, they don't really have the same commercial
- 13:33situation here. So they do they do shoot
- 13:37National commercials Rocky actually shot one here, but it's
- 13:41not the way in La where you can just go on like a million
- 13:45commercial auditions and I'm yeah, not.
- 13:47So that was kind of a bummer knowing I was giving that up,
- 13:50but at the same time super worth it I mean worth it as far as the
- 13:55other opportunities that have come up from I'm being here and
- 13:58just you know and there are still like I said, you still do
- 14:01get commercial auditions. Here is just a little different
- 14:04also. I do miss going in the room for
- 14:06commercial auditions though, there's something to be said for
- 14:08like walking in and kind of developing those relationships
- 14:12or having that interaction with the you know director and the
- 14:16guy goes for herschel's are more, just whoo.
- 14:19Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:20So I'm like I feel like they're just going to pick one of those.
- 14:26Out of a hat. Yeah, because it's always like
- 14:29tell me something about you and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 14:33yeah. Like, I have the cutest kids
- 14:35ever seen. So how do you think Atlanta has
- 14:45been what? What are like the main
- 14:49differences and like how Between here and Atlanta.
- 14:55Because I mean, you're making, you're acting, you're making it
- 14:58sound a lot. My, am I selling you on it?
- 15:02I mean, I've only been to Atlanta once I have my uncle
- 15:09lives like, not in Atlanta, but like, right outside, I guess.
- 15:13Um, but yeah, I mean, it does seem nice as I'm talking to you
- 15:20from my two-bedroom apartment. What's up?
- 15:23That was my life for a million years.
- 15:25Yeah, besides like auditioning a book, like the commercial
- 15:29auditioning and stuff like family, life and acting.
- 15:36How do you find that it? Yeah, has been different.
- 15:41I mean, I know you said it's definitely worth it and it's
- 15:43been a great right. But what's the?
- 15:46Um, they'll like the space. And yeah, I mean Room that I'm
- 15:53in right now is I mean it's Rockies office, / are taping
- 15:57room. So it's just like a room that we
- 15:58just keep the different backdrops up and yeah I mean we
- 16:02have a taping room like there we would be like you know wait
- 16:06until the girls got a bed in the living room we like even a Glee
- 16:08and like the backdrop up on the thing and on the hooks and then
- 16:11trying to set the lighting and then doing this madness not and
- 16:14this is just like been a much easier setup.
- 16:17But I mean, when we were living in apartment, most of our
- 16:20auditions at the time were in Person like kind of a about
- 16:24touch and I do miss that, I do miss like kind of get in your
- 16:28audition preparing going in and just side giving it that one
- 16:30shot. And then you walked away, there
- 16:33is now you're like take 74 and you're like editing through the
- 16:38night and I don't know, it feels like a little more drawn out now
- 16:41and I'm not always, you know, but obviously it's just like,
- 16:45sometimes you have you have but you have the ability to do that
- 16:49because you're the one taking the They take some yeah.
- 16:53Yeah. So you're like, well, I might as
- 16:55well do one more. Um, I can do it.
- 16:59Yeah. We're like, they all the same.
- 17:02They're all your than you watching backing like something
- 17:05different. But okay, so first of all, we
- 17:10have a yard, we have a big house, we have plenty of space.
- 17:14It's amazing. It's so much more affordable.
- 17:17We're paying way less for our house and we were paying for our
- 17:20two bedroom apartment. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 17:27People here are super duper nice, Southern Hospitality is
- 17:30real friendly and there's so nice, it's crazy.
- 17:35The humidity is insane. There are bugs everywhere.
- 17:39Oh my God, backed by a cicada the other day so pros and cons
- 17:46you know there's but I mean it's awesome like a Playgrounds for
- 17:53the kids, you know, we're at the aquarium.
- 17:55We're at the zoo. There's the fair's coming here
- 17:58next week and it's like, 10 minutes down the road.
- 18:02There's just I don't know. As far as like raising kids,
- 18:05it's pretty amazing. And then I got into tennis
- 18:09because if you move to Atlanta you kind of have to apparently
- 18:11that's just that's just the thing they do here.
- 18:14Every like in the suburbs that all the neighborhoods are these
- 18:17swim tennis neighborhoods and the you swam all summer and you
- 18:21buy dinner. This.
- 18:22And so I'm playing tennis, which is super fun, so that's been
- 18:26happening. And then You do feel a little
- 18:31removed from the business in a good way and a bad way.
- 18:35So in La, I feel like everyone's an actor.
- 18:38So everywhere you go, it's all about acting, Everyone's an
- 18:40actor. We all have the same job which
- 18:42is actually kind of nice. Like you all can relate.
- 18:46You can you know, tell your stories to each other and you
- 18:49know commiserate and yada yada but here, nobody's nectar.
- 18:54Nobody knows anything about it. They're very curious also, like,
- 18:59we're kind of like these weird exotic creatures are here.
- 19:02They're like factors. Huh?
- 19:05And they can see, we're like home a lot and it's very
- 19:07confusing to them. Yeah.
- 19:09Probably. Like, where are you going to
- 19:11work rice? Not have jobs.
- 19:13What is going on? Um, but then again, like Rocky,
- 19:17I'll be like, I mean, our lives are bizarre.
- 19:19I mean because honestly Raphael be here, you know, for weeks.
- 19:22And then I'll soon as I can. Hey, I just booked a movie.
- 19:24I'm going to Europe for 12 weeks and I'm like, oh, okay.
- 19:28And he's like, and I'm leaving tomorrow and be like, yeah,
- 19:30that's just how this business goes.
- 19:32Like you're just like a happy I need, he went to Ukraine, which
- 19:36is crazy. Went to Ukraine for all this
- 19:37happen when I was pregnant with Bailey for nine weeks, and like,
- 19:41it was that he said, you know, I'm leaving, but this movies was
- 19:46so exciting. It was very like, amazing thing
- 19:50and you can cons again and it was leaving and we cap.
- 19:52So it is great because he Here a lot like we get to like family
- 19:56time is, you know, real like we're together a lot then.
- 19:59And then we have these weird sudden separations are kind of
- 20:02bizarre. That's our work for you because
- 20:06that was quite a show. You had a baby and you are
- 20:09pregnant and he had the go and you couldn't go with him
- 20:12obviously because that's well, technically, I know what else.
- 20:16But I, when I'm pregnant. Like I said, I'm dying.
- 20:19So I couldn't go like II. Think if I'd had them the two
- 20:23kids, I would have probably gone for at least a little while.
- 20:25Yeah, traveling. I mean I'm telling you my
- 20:28friends, the rough. Um, but so he just like
- 20:33resemble. He just shot a commercial back
- 20:34in LA and he was gone for two weeks because he had to go back
- 20:39for like the fitting first and then, you know.
- 20:41Oh man. Yeah yeah.
- 20:43So he was like, and again, you know, that's the fall.
- 20:46We booked it and it's like, start shooting and couple days.
- 20:49Yeah. So we're crying out.
- 20:52We kind of and I still I still Like, I would take that over him
- 20:56having a 9:00 to 5:00 every day because he is around a lot.
- 20:59Like Korea is like it's it's great like we don't know.
- 21:03And then if I booked up then he he's under can be understanding
- 21:06that to, you know, like we was kind of great that we would.
- 21:10You guys. Both, you know, or accuracy.
- 21:13You kind of know it's like tag team attack.
- 21:16Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:17It's crazy. And my mom's retired.
- 21:18So I'll just call her and be like, when he leaves.
- 21:20I'm just like, Mom, what are you doing tomorrow through?
- 21:23Through the next 12 weeks. Yes.
- 21:27You want to come out and stay and she's always like.
- 21:29Yeah, my mom is here for a couple of weeks right now.
- 21:34I love it. Nice just to visit though, not
- 21:37for, I'm impressed. We're both here.
- 21:39So well, the thing in La I thought does he when he, when
- 21:43persons book jobs, are they usually local?
- 21:46Yeah, for the most part, I was gonna say it's weird.
- 21:49It just depends on kind of where your career and if they all are,
- 21:53so Different. Some people who look more
- 21:55commercials. Some people book, More film.
- 21:57Some people book more TV, I feel like I in the past.
- 22:03I've I've been a TV and Commercial all the way, I'm not
- 22:07movies. So I've been in l.a. every job.
- 22:10I booked for the most part was in LA.
- 22:12I mean I did book some random here and there like I did a
- 22:15pilot for this. This pilot called Drew right
- 22:19before I got pregnant with McKinsey, maybe I want to say
- 22:22and that was in New York. But for the most part, I book
- 22:26commercials for a day in La, for Rockne does a lot of movies and
- 22:31they're always out of l.a. It's like so crazy.
- 22:33We just have put such different paths that we are careers at
- 22:36taken so far. Yeah.
- 22:38How do you decide which like which jobs to take?
- 22:43Because I assume obviously the one like a film or something
- 22:48that's taking. You know, a few weeks or
- 22:51something has to really be worth it for him too late.
- 22:55Not like I mean I assume I assume you but you both are
- 23:00union. Yeah.
- 23:01Oh yeah. And yeah cuz that yeah, you're
- 23:04not gonna go for like 195, add a label positive, all like yeah
- 23:09they've all financially made sense.
- 23:11So now I think that, you know, a lot of times you'll know that
- 23:14like with the audition and he'll be like this in the worth
- 23:16auditioning for X. If I got this, I wouldn't take
- 23:18it. You know what I mean?
- 23:19Like, yeah. So I think yeah, definitely.
- 23:22You have to ask to be worthwhile to be leaving for that long.
- 23:27Yeah, I feel like that's a little hmm.
- 23:30Maybe not quite catch 22. But being out here I'm
- 23:34definitely more selective and like I don't really, I don't
- 23:37self submit any more or anything and right, husband dies and
- 23:41he'll get no audition for things or book things and It's great
- 23:48credit but in the name because we're both must join right now.
- 23:53So he's like trying to get as many non-union and I'm like, you
- 23:55have so many right now but like credits, right?
- 24:00But in my opinion I be like not worth it to me but some were
- 24:03worth it to him and I'm like, okay yeah, but yeah that's but
- 24:08luckily again like being being here is, you know, he doesn't
- 24:12have to travel for it. So it wouldn't wouldn't make the
- 24:15difference anyway. Well, he Rocky Brooks.
- 24:20A Tyler Perry show and Tyler. The Tyler Perry shows are crazy
- 24:25here. Tyler Perry's amazing.
- 24:26Like, owns Atlanta, right? He owns it Lana.
- 24:29He is mr. Atlanta.
- 24:31He's the mayor of Atlanta. Yeah, he is awesome.
- 24:36Like Rocky booking a job with him was the best thing that's
- 24:39happened. So far here in Atlanta but he's
- 24:42awesome. But the way he shoots is really
- 24:45interesting, he shoots so you know how they'll shoot an
- 24:48episode in a week. Weak, that's kind of standard.
- 24:53He will shoot 24 episodes in two weeks.
- 25:01I can't even think of how that wrap your head around that would
- 25:03work Rocky, I'm 22. I think those are 20 episodes of
- 25:10a show that was sitting in a tree stand, right?
- 25:12When I was about to give birth to my child.
- 25:15Oh my God, that is like amazing terrible timing.
- 25:21Wow. The things all the things we
- 25:23were we were just like, okay, I, you know, I said my mom was
- 25:27here. I said, Mommy.
- 25:28I be in the room with me. You might be at home with the
- 25:30kids will just see how this goes, how he ended up being
- 25:34there for the delivery, like he was there.
- 25:36He was running. He was running down to the city,
- 25:40to do like covid, testing, like, while we were in the hospital in
- 25:44South, but his shoot days, does not conflict with the baby,
- 25:47which is great and it worked out great.
- 25:48Honestly, worked out so great. Yeah, so we've wild that's I
- 25:53know it's so different too because I think like you know
- 25:57I've only ever worked on shows where you kind of shoot the
- 25:59standard way. So it was very different and
- 26:02kind of liberating he said in a way because it's pretty much you
- 26:06get that one one take. So you can't like dwell on
- 26:09anything. You just got them in your gotta
- 26:10move your on to the next. So it's like be prepared.
- 26:13Like, you know, prepares you can and like, did their time to even
- 26:19Oh my God, I hate that to memory.
- 26:21I your people to walk around with them and run their lines
- 26:24with them like on set. Oh, this because there's so much
- 26:27they have to know so much and in a day, you know what I mean?
- 26:30Like, oh, that's like worse than I've heard about, like, soap
- 26:33operas. I know, I think it's actually
- 26:35pretty. I think it's kind of similar to
- 26:37soaps, but yeah, I think it might even be more than a so
- 26:43yeah, but it was my good ideas, awesome.
- 26:46He is such a cool experience and it was great.
- 26:49Don't think he shoots like his movies and stuff like that just
- 26:51for whatever reason he he's figured out this way of shooting
- 26:54with his shows were he can because I guess he has a bunch
- 26:58of different ones and he can kind of knock them all out and
- 27:02it's working for him. I'm so good job.
- 27:06Well, that's exciting. That's and you weren't you
- 27:10didn't have like a plan. You weren't being like induced
- 27:14or anything. He just happened.
- 27:16It just worked out TimeWise or were you or I know.
- 27:20So I wasn't being induced although I guess I kind of did
- 27:24get so I kind of just like yeah, they induce me because I was two
- 27:28days late. We were kind of just like
- 27:32waiting happened and there was like a four-day window where the
- 27:36baby needed to come. Yeah.
- 27:39And she did good girl and that was the youngest The baby, this
- 27:49example. Yeah.
- 27:52Well now that you've been through quite a bit of Ages with
- 27:58your girls. What do you?
- 28:01I always enjoy asking what what so far do you think?
- 28:05And I'm sure each of them is different but is like the
- 28:11hardest. Easiest, I know they all all
- 28:13ages have pros and cons, but like, and I'm sure it's
- 28:17different having three and has it been different each time
- 28:23because I hear, sorry. I'm asking, like five questions
- 28:25at 10 but I know you need. It is, first of all, it's so
- 28:28different with his child and not because each child is different,
- 28:32which they are, but because you are different as a mom each
- 28:35time. So your first, baby, you're just
- 28:37like, I don't know. And honestly Watching your
- 28:40Instagram and we have like, uh, he's the like calmness.
- 28:44You seem like first of all, first of all, you were like,
- 28:47meant to be a mother like everything you post.
- 28:49I'm just like, I wish I had been that like had it together the
- 28:53way you did because with my first baby for.
- 28:55So she was colicky. And I was just, you know, I was
- 28:58reading all the baby book saying, like, what do I do?
- 29:01What do I do? This is a, got an answer and
- 29:03this book was like, you never wake a sleeping baby.
- 29:06This was like, always, we could be back after 3 hours to feed
- 29:09them and this one. And I'm like it's like moving my
- 29:13mind it's it's really glad Instagram.
- 29:17Makes me look calm eye but no she she screams all the time to
- 29:22its I mean, she's she's great. She's sleeping.
- 29:25Yeah, she's good. But um yeah it's I mean I also
- 29:30have been nannying for like 20 years that's like pretty girl.
- 29:34I had a need it's so wild because now she's three and a
- 29:38half months now and I look Look back before.
- 29:40Right, before I moved out here, I need a need twin boys.
- 29:46That were from the ages from three to nine months.
- 29:51And I nanny them and I was like and there were two.
- 29:53Wow. And I was like totally fine and
- 29:55like but now that she's through I'm like I cannot imagine doing
- 30:01that out it and everything Nanny wise, just like went out the
- 30:06window, all we even took like the class has it all And out the
- 30:10window because once it's like, even your own, like you said the
- 30:14books and like logistically or yeah, logically.
- 30:18I know like the baby will stop eating when she's full, like
- 30:21things that I would say or like just know instinctively while
- 30:26nannying. And then now that she's here, I
- 30:29would be like, but is she going to stop?
- 30:32Like I know. Wait do, I don't know why you
- 30:35said in a second. First, second guessing
- 30:37everything, when you're right, if it's someone that I feel,
- 30:40Feel like it was someone else's kid.
- 30:41I feel like I would have this confidence for some reason.
- 30:43I don't know why with your own child.
- 30:45I know I'm in a mess this up. Somehow.
- 30:47I don't know, I don't know. I still with the first baby,
- 30:50that was how it was and then with the second so I was, I was,
- 30:53I did breastfeed all three for a few months.
- 30:57So the first one breastfeeding to me was just like, oh my gosh.
- 31:00I just like, felt like. I was breastfeeding 24/7 and it
- 31:03was it was really hard for me. I just felt very kind of Trapped
- 31:07and it was just such a new Variants and I, you know, I'd
- 31:11gone from walking out the door to go.
- 31:14I remember, I've had the baby home for like two days or
- 31:16something and my husband was like, all right, let me go the
- 31:18gym and I like also, I felt the whole apartment, which is like
- 31:22closing music. You're going to go to the gym.
- 31:24I was like, I'm never going to just say, I'm gonna go to the
- 31:27gym again. I'm never even go anywhere and
- 31:30I'm eyeballing he's like, okay, I'm going to stay here.
- 31:32We're just going to stay here. I'm not, I don't need those gym
- 31:34like I lost it. I was freaking out.
- 31:37So then by baby too, I Loved breastfeeding.
- 31:41I'd like, hey, I got it. Breastfeed the baby.
- 31:42I'd be like in the back room. Like shutting the door and
- 31:44locked unit like watching TV shows and like, breastfeeding
- 31:47the bit like a dream girl, I do think and I think that was based
- 31:52on just the experience that I already had a baby.
- 31:55I knew she survived. All those nights of knots.
- 32:00You know, sleeping are crazy. You know, like I just I knew
- 32:03it's all gonna be okay. Yeah, so it's kind of a peace of
- 32:06mind with the second one and the third one.
- 32:08She's like a dream baby honestly.
- 32:10I like and she's just easy peasy.
- 32:12So happy like, although she gets sick so much because she's got
- 32:16these older siblings bringing home, all the germs.
- 32:18Yeah School. That'll that'll do it.
- 32:25Yeah, I think it I do. I'll well I don't love that.
- 32:30You said that you had to go through it but I like I'm happy
- 32:33that you bring it up that it's like The husband.
- 32:37Yeah, it's like you your partner gets to leave.
- 32:41If you're if you're breastfeeding, even if you're
- 32:43not, I mean it's no matter what it's different, what different
- 32:46being the mother. Because you have this emotional
- 32:49tie to that child, that, I mean, the dads can sleep through the
- 32:52baby, crying the moms. Can't that just the, we
- 32:55physically, I can't do it. And I mean, I remember like,
- 32:59when I first debut against like I said, she was colicky.
- 33:02I had, I had some postpartum anxiety, really bad.
- 33:05And So, there was like, the first, I mean, I would wake up
- 33:08to every little sound and I, so finally, he's like, why don't
- 33:11you go sleep in the guest bedroom?
- 33:13I'll keep the baby here. When she wakes up, I'll bring
- 33:15her to you to feed. I was like, oh, that's great.
- 33:17And so, there's one time I woke up and had been like, you know,
- 33:20she'd always been waking up like every three hours women and at
- 33:22what been like 7 hours and I go running in freaking out, I'm
- 33:26like really okay. So I guess she's been sleeping
- 33:28on my butt. Has she become like you wouldn't
- 33:32like I mean there was this one night I was having like back
- 33:34spasms, all of a sudden and I was And wake them up so bad to
- 33:37be like rub my back or help me. And I was Rocky Rocky likes, so
- 33:41does Never by the way, never woke him up so I'm sure the baby
- 33:46crying did not exist. They're so lucky.
- 33:50I'm like, I'm coming back as a dad next side.
- 33:52It's, you know, it's soda. Dream job.
- 33:54I just want to be a dad. Oh, great.
- 33:57That's that's buddy. Yeah, it is, it's different.
- 34:00It's funny because Preston a pretty much well, he'll wear
- 34:03earplugs because he's a very sensitive sleeper.
- 34:06So he wakes up every time, she's like, oh like you does he'll
- 34:11wake up. Like he can't sleep.
- 34:13So he'll wear earplugs and she's next to me still.
- 34:17But I don't wake up for those little things but somehow,
- 34:24because she doesn't wake up crying usually.
- 34:26But like, once she's awake, I'll just turn over and she'll be
- 34:29like hi. Thank you.
- 34:33Luckily. I mean I've just like a happened
- 34:36to Wake up at the same time as her I started setting my alarm
- 34:41earlier to be like is she waking up before?
- 34:44Just laying there. Okay, somehow you're actually my
- 34:47husband. I don't know.
- 34:48You are like the calmest. I love it.
- 34:50You are. I'm going to be the mom next
- 34:54time. That's the goal.
- 34:56Oh well, thank you. Well, that's good to know that
- 35:02there's like yeah, once you've been through it.
- 35:07Yeah, I'm so like chills out a little more.
- 35:10You sound like, you sound a bit like a second, baby mom.
- 35:14And I think maybe that's from all your nanny.
- 35:17I think you kind of got some of that stuff out of the way.
- 35:20Yeah, cuz I'm like, I don't listen, I think every mom's
- 35:25different to I think there's some moms that like I mean I
- 35:28know friends like some that I have are just it's really
- 35:31nerve-racking and they're so anxious about first baby and
- 35:34some that aren't so it just kind of depends on.
- 35:37Yeah yeah. It's like a back-and-forth of,
- 35:40you know, Common Sense and well I wouldn't maybe not common
- 35:44sense but like trusting your instinct Instinct Earth is the
- 35:49books. It's like yeah.
- 35:51My advice would be like Just don't don't II.
- 35:54That is 100%. My advice.
- 35:56There should be baby books. So that's the hard thing where
- 36:10it's like and even during like pregnancy, like I feel like
- 36:14there shouldn't be pregnancy books either because everything
- 36:17is everything is nickel. Yeah, it's normal.
- 36:22And you're like, but is it and then it's like and the same with
- 36:26babies. It's like, this is normal like
- 36:29it. Yeah.
- 36:29It's it's wild and even doctors will say different things and
- 36:35that's kind of where we were like because we were still
- 36:40waking her up to feed her throughout the night.
- 36:44And we're just, I mean I'm pumping in nursing but like we
- 36:49would be waking her up every like, you know, Three hours.
- 36:53And finally, my girl friends from back home.
- 36:55We're like, you don't, why are you so?
- 36:58And I was like, my doctor said and then I, you know, called the
- 37:02doctor and was like, do I still need?
- 37:04And he was like no one she wants.
- 37:05She hits her birth weight. And I was like well that was
- 37:08that 10 weeks ago? Like, that would have been very
- 37:13helpful. Yeah.
- 37:16So when you like I know you said you had tough pregnancy.
- 37:22So you weren't like auditioning during then it did you have a
- 37:26hard time with like the idea with like, your husband still
- 37:32auditioning? Was that hard?
- 37:34Because I was able to still audition, but even afterwards,
- 37:38like, I know, we're on the same team and what's good for one is
- 37:42good for both but like, Did you get a little fomo at all?
- 37:49Because I know I did what I be like, I'm helping you with these
- 37:52auditions. I want more, whatever.
- 37:56I don't know if I got fomo with the actual auditions, I was more
- 37:59like the booking of the job. We're gonna go and like, being a
- 38:05hotel by yourself. That's sounds magical.
- 38:11What? I, that's correct.
- 38:14But I don't know for It's hard to explain because audition is
- 38:19interesting right now what would last as we have three little
- 38:23kids and we don't live my family so we don't have, we're not like
- 38:26Mom come over and take the kids for a couple hours or whatever.
- 38:30So a lot of times we're trying to knock out auditions.
- 38:33Like after the kids go to bed, which I am a morning person.
- 38:37So second those kids go to bed. I is very hard for me.
- 38:41Not to also go to bed like I want to have it.
- 38:45So Doing it at night. We're doing it.
- 38:48There's like a couple Windows during the week where they're
- 38:51both the older girls are both in school but now we've got baby.
- 38:54So she's here if you're like okay we got to do it during the
- 38:56nap and a double school days which is a very small window.
- 39:01So we're, you know, we're trying to it's just, it's just or we're
- 39:04like, okay, this is going to be we're going to give them, you
- 39:07know, some screen time and put the baby down and for a nap, and
- 39:11then we'll try and shoot. It's just feels a little bit
- 39:14like, Kamikaze like that. Yeah.
- 39:16Yeah, I figure it out. So I don't know, I don't know
- 39:22how to say it. Like I feel like I haven't had
- 39:23too much fomo yet now that I know we're not getting pregnant
- 39:27again because we're done or three is were this is complete,
- 39:30we love it. How do you think now?
- 39:33I'm starting to like, okay now I can Really kind of go for this
- 39:38again because after each of my other two babies at we knew we
- 39:43wanted to have another one. So it's kind of like there's
- 39:45like looming pregnancy and you know like just knowing I'd be
- 39:50out again. I don't know it's a little
- 39:52tricky for a few years but again with commercials that's what's
- 39:54so great about commercials is that it didn't matter how kind
- 39:58of small my window was I like go out for a bunch of auditions and
- 40:02I did shoot. I shot a commercial and I was
- 40:03five months pregnant with McKinsey my And I was shooting a
- 40:09movie when I found out. I was pregnant with her so I
- 40:12have shot while pregnant but even the audition while pregnant
- 40:15so hard for me, so I didn't even audition.
- 40:18Basically this whole pregnancy with Roxy and I'm just starting
- 40:22to audition again now which is it is it's great.
- 40:24I I have missed it and I'm so excited to be doing it again.
- 40:29Oh, that's what I can tell you about atlantis.oh.
- 40:32I think what's kind of been cool is.
- 40:33I think I felt like I was not as much in the theatrical game for
- 40:40a while because of, you know, all the babies inside.
- 40:42But like I said, the commercial stuff, I could just kind of keep
- 40:44it going. So here I've been able to kind
- 40:46of jump back into the theatrical side which is just so much more
- 40:49fun as far as auditions and all that stuff so great but you
- 40:54can't such cool auditions here you really do.
- 40:57Like I remember that was one of the things I heard is like they
- 41:00fail they want to cast low. Locally.
- 41:02A lot of I kind of smaller parts and huge movies.
- 41:05So you're editing for like insane projects, like with just
- 41:09like the best directors in like huge, huge movie stars and it's
- 41:14cool. Like the opportunities are
- 41:16really great. Yes.
- 41:18When they probably want local, yeah, people do those.
- 41:23Yes, then you're still in. Yeah, that's great.
- 41:27But also they're shooting a ton of TV shows here, too.
- 41:29So like they'll even want Goes for like guest stars on those
- 41:33and stuff. So you're getting kind of
- 41:34opportunities that haven't been opened up to the whole, La
- 41:37Market to, you know, which is it, does make it a little bit
- 41:42more, you know, feasible, that, you know, that these jobs are
- 41:47going to get booked. I don't know.
- 41:49Yeah, it's still, you're still competing with, you know, bunch
- 41:52of other great actors out here, but it just does feel a little
- 41:54bit more attainable. I think, and it's based on Rocky
- 41:58success here, I mean, he's, it's been great.
- 42:01He's a Great auditions and great bookings and worked on really
- 42:05cool projects and some great that's awesome.
- 42:08I'll talk to you guys. Did you say wait?
- 42:12I know you have rep in Atlanta. Now when you do you still did
- 42:18you like all of your rep and ale or do you still have?
- 42:21So I'm not rep through l.a. anymore.
- 42:24My commercial agent they kind of were like they just didn't feel
- 42:29comfortable sending me out knowing that I wouldn't because
- 42:31they were saying Some callbacks and stuff are in the room or
- 42:34they just, you know, they asked specifically, make sure it's a
- 42:36local, so they knew I was in Atlanta, you know, so they kind
- 42:40of weren't comfortable sending me out.
- 42:41So that kind of just seemed to fizzle out, I guess.
- 42:46But Rockies, agent is still some, Sophia might see if we can
- 42:52maybe take my stuff over there and see if they'd be interested
- 42:56because I have had, you know, quite a few commercials and that
- 43:01Is something I definitely would want to keep doing so yeah.
- 43:05And again if it's worth it, you can come out.
- 43:11Yeah. That'd be, that'd be great.
- 43:13Yeah, I'm to book a job acting La.
- 43:15I'm dying to come back to LA. We haven't we left and I guess,
- 43:20October 2. So 2 years ago, exactly.
- 43:24Is when we were back in. Okay, we're still here.
- 43:26It's the same. I know.
- 43:31Yeah, I um. So how did you get your rep in
- 43:37Atlanta? I did.
- 43:38You just like, do the emailing? Was it like referral or just
- 43:44like, how did you tell? So in my mind I will because
- 43:47actually, I don't know how you've always gotten your reps
- 43:50and LA but a lot of times we've done it through the blind
- 43:52emails. Yeah.
- 43:54And so I just assumed. Yeah.
- 43:57I kind of thought like and we've done some through like reps or
- 44:00referral since up. I just assumed we'd get out here
- 44:02to see Mel get, you know, be like I Choose You Like That,
- 44:08quite quite like that. So, but actually what we end up
- 44:12doing before I did, any submissions, A girlfriend of
- 44:17mine, had a friend who lives in Atlanta.
- 44:21She works here as an actress. She also had been in La for a
- 44:25few years, but she's from Atlanta, she went to LA for a
- 44:28few years, came back and she's done really, really Well, she's
- 44:31great. So my friend was like, why don't
- 44:35you reach out to her kind of get her advice about, you know,
- 44:38because we were this is kind of more we're looking about like
- 44:40where to live and all that stuff.
- 44:42So I reached out to her and she was really awesome and helpful
- 44:46and no just answered so many questions for me and and I told
- 44:49her you know that I was going to try and get an agent and she
- 44:52said she would send myself along to a couple agents owner to and
- 44:57she did. And that's how I got my agent.
- 44:59Oh that's awesome. Yeah So, it's great.
- 45:02So what was that? Once you were not.
- 45:04Once you were already there, we were just about to move our.
- 45:08We actually quite weren't quite here yet when she going these.
- 45:11Yeah. So I got some really awesome
- 45:14awesome auditions before I got pregnant.
- 45:17So I have like a couple. Yeah it wasn't very long that I
- 45:22wasn't pregnant but I did get some amazing auditions.
- 45:28They've done such a great job and they and then Rocky got with
- 45:30them and Like killed it for him, he's mad.
- 45:33Yeah, so then it sounds like, luckily, like you were saying in
- 45:38La, back in the day you had a lot of like, you know, the side
- 45:42hustles that that everyone has. Yeah.
- 45:44It sounds like it's been like, it's been a good road and like,
- 45:49you don't have to do all your like.
- 45:52Well, I know I was gonna happen. Had to knock on wood.
- 45:56Yeah. Yeah.
- 45:57I was like, I don't want to say it.
- 45:59I know. Well done.
- 46:01He is when I quit Jones, I worked at Jones forever.
- 46:05I probably could have quit a couple years before I did but I
- 46:09was only working on Friday. I was like working on Friday and
- 46:11Saturday night though to know. If it was like, it was fun.
- 46:14It was like, social, I loved her very much, but also it was like
- 46:17this, like I just knew I could go make some money, you know,
- 46:20anytime I need to. And but what I would do is I'd
- 46:24get off my shift covered and then like every four months, my
- 46:27manager would call me and say Aaron, if you're going to work
- 46:29here, you actually have to Here. So then I'd go like work a shift
- 46:33and then I kind of got them all covered again but I couldn't
- 46:39give it up. And then finally Rockies like
- 46:40you can do this. Aaron like you you you can let
- 46:43it go and I was so scared. I was like no it's if I if I let
- 46:46this go somehow like it's all going to dry up and, you know,
- 46:49yeah, Anna. I think I put in my notice and I
- 46:53booked a commercial the next day and I was like, okay, it's gonna
- 46:55be it's gonna be fine, but I know I booked this.
- 47:01One commercial six years ago that has paid me for 6 years and
- 47:08hasn't. It hasn't been running
- 47:09domestically for a long time but they just keep renewing it every
- 47:14year in like different countries and stuff.
- 47:16But this is the first year, it's now finally done.
- 47:20And this is the first year where Rockies career is really like,
- 47:23kind of Gone just make like taking off.
- 47:27So it was like again the timing was just like perfect like
- 47:30because when I did I was like, wait a minute and then and then
- 47:36it was like totally fine. Like it was great.
- 47:38But I mean it was it was I don't know if he ever saw my Eminem's
- 47:41commercial but maybe I was just gonna get.
- 47:42I was like, I was like it was at the oven M1 dot.
- 47:45Yeah. It was like the job of all jobs
- 47:50but and it was so fun. Yeah.
- 47:52So I just keep thinking like maybe As kid doesn't have to be
- 47:55dead yet. Maybe it's going to make it at
- 47:57all. That's happened.
- 47:58Aang, I assume you got like a good contract with that.
- 48:02It wasn't like a just a single by out and be done if they kept
- 48:06if it kills me, that's amazing. Yeah, they did a like a new by
- 48:10out each year and it was different.
- 48:13It was different each year because it was like different
- 48:14places like I don't know. But yeah it was it was good so
- 48:18that was helpful and that was also amazing because I shot that
- 48:22right before I had Mackenzie, so basically it kind of just was
- 48:26like, hey, here's this gonna like to like put your mind at
- 48:30ease while you have children for the next six years ago.
- 48:32Yeah, I really did. It was like, you know, how you
- 48:35definitely do have to wear tender shoot a headshot.
- 48:38So just take it. Easy, have those babies?
- 48:40Oh, man, that's amazing. Did you?
- 48:42So obviously, before your first one, you didn't know, if you're
- 48:46pregnant like that your pregnancy was gonna write you.
- 48:49So difficult, did you? And I think you said you guys
- 48:55were trying. Yeah, you know, so obviously you
- 49:01made the decision. What how did you decide?
- 49:05Because I know a lot of people are like, you know, why might
- 49:09not work for this long or whatever.
- 49:12How did you make that decision? Because a lot of times for me, I
- 49:17mean, my age was just a factor where I was like if I want kids
- 49:21I should probably get Started I guess yeah, okay, because I was
- 49:25like my career is not where I want it to be for having kids,
- 49:29and but I guess it was just like, well, I gotta I shot a
- 49:33movie when I was 23 in Bulgaria, it was called alien Siege, don't
- 49:40look that up that out this. So but the the guy who played my
- 49:48dad, Brad Johnson, he actually just passed away this year from
- 49:52Complications, which is so pricking because he was so young
- 49:57had five children only way. But he was such a great guy and
- 50:03I remember him asking me if I was 23, we're shooting this
- 50:05movie. He said, to me, he said, do you
- 50:08want to get married have kids someday and he was at that time.
- 50:10He already was married had kids. He think he lived on like a
- 50:13ranch in New Mexico somewhere. And I was like, yes, definitely.
- 50:17And he's like, don't wait then he's like, I know so many
- 50:22Actresses that like they don't they don't feel ready, their
- 50:25career isn't where they want it. And so they just, you know, they
- 50:28keep waiting and then kind of that window closes and and I
- 50:32remember being 23 and be like, okay, first of all, I'm gonna be
- 50:37like on a TV show within the next year.
- 50:40Obviously, I work going to meet my future husband, like the next
- 50:46year and I'm like, whatever got to go to be young again.
- 50:53What do a little while longer? So I just knew I always wanted
- 50:58to get married have kids and I knew that was something that I
- 51:01wouldn't ever give up no matter what and I don't know.
- 51:04I don't know if I want to come. I kind of have like a faith in
- 51:07things working out the way they should.
- 51:09And I feel like I've had a lot of great opportunities and
- 51:14Bunnell do a lot of amazing things.
- 51:15I've been so fun and been able to, you know, book launch jobs
- 51:18and you know, obviously there are things that Feel like I
- 51:22haven't done yet and there's so much more I want to do, but the
- 51:27kids thing was, was a definite that was not something I was
- 51:31willing to give up. So when I met Rocky and, you
- 51:35know, we got married, you both were on the same page that we
- 51:39wanted to have kids. So we were like, well, we're not
- 51:41the, we're going to have multiple to, we got to get
- 51:43going. Yeah.
- 51:44And so that was kind of we got right to it.
- 51:47And and so and I think, at that point to eye I was okay with
- 51:53taking a break, you know, it's a long time to be doing the Hustle
- 51:57by was I was like, you know, that's okay why I can put a pin
- 52:01in it and we'll come back and I'm and that's what we're doing.
- 52:04So yeah. And you're so now, you know,
- 52:08your youngest is six months and you're ready to, you're getting
- 52:12back into it and that makes like you said, it's because you know,
- 52:17you're done, you're not having any work done.
- 52:20Oh yeah. That's so exciting to get back
- 52:25into it and like, I and your timing has worked out perfectly.
- 52:32I feel like having the faith in in all of that is really hard
- 52:38though, so I'm, that's, that's kind of where I'm struggling.
- 52:42So it's nice to hear like people being like, it'll work out and
- 52:47and the timing, whatever is meant to be, is meant to be And
- 52:53you know, like I I mean there are things that obviously didn't
- 53:00work out the way I wanted to them too and they could have led
- 53:04me in such a different way like I'm million years ago tested for
- 53:07the TV show Psych and that ran for seven seasons and I tested
- 53:12for the lead girl and I like signed a contract that day and
- 53:14like that could have been I could have moved to Canada in
- 53:18you know, that that month or whatever been there for years
- 53:22now. Have, you know, that would have
- 53:23been a very different trajectory and different career and
- 53:29probably been great, you know, and so many ways, but at the
- 53:31same time I'm like I wouldn't give up anything that I have
- 53:36right now, for that. And and I do feel like, you
- 53:42know, so many things. It's funny because I do think
- 53:46there were times that like quitting the bartending job.
- 53:49That was so hard for me because I just it was so hard to just
- 53:53know, like know you can do this. Like you can you can you're
- 53:56going to book more commercials. Like you're gonna be fine.
- 53:58Like and I did and it was and it's just like, someone's just
- 54:02kind of have to take that leap. And I think that was, like, with
- 54:04Atlanta to like, you know, like we could move here and not be
- 54:06able to get agents, and it's, we could great house, but we never
- 54:11work again as actors that I think.
- 54:13Yeah. Let's go.
- 54:15See. Yeah, you gotta take those those
- 54:17leaps of faith and look, what I was gonna see.
- 54:20Honestly, it's been amazing. And the cool thing is too, is he
- 54:23still has his reps back in La. So they sometimes stuff too.
- 54:25So he he hasn't I mean honestly, if we were still in Delaware
- 54:29with his family, he'd still be getting a bunch of auditions
- 54:31from doesn't matter. So it's kind of worked out in
- 54:35that sense to like we did know that we had that kind of like
- 54:37safety net. Like we know we're going to have
- 54:39auditions because you know, throughout released but no LA's.
- 54:44Or Ellen has been awesome, it's been great.
- 54:46So you really on our Point Park. Well, if I was looking at
- 54:53Atlanta what are because I don't know anything about Elena but
- 54:58like what are some of the like I guess you don't have to say what
- 55:01neighborhood you live in? But like what are some of the?
- 55:04I mean you can but what are some hoods that that you would look
- 55:09at? It's so going to depend on the
- 55:12situation so you having a little baby girl and if you're thinking
- 55:16like so if you were like okay we're going to move to Atlanta,
- 55:18we're going to move their long-term so we have to think
- 55:20about school. So that makes a difference
- 55:21because then in my opinion you want to be up in the suburbs
- 55:24like north of is actually one suburb South, it's called
- 55:28Peachtree City, that's awesome. But I am that you want to be
- 55:31north of this city and it's like, there's like Marietta,
- 55:35there's Roswell, there's offer at others Johns Creek, there's
- 55:38coming. There's and there's all these
- 55:40Different neighborhoods and then you just kind of keep getting
- 55:42further and further away. So just depends on how close you
- 55:44want to be the city. We're not super close to the
- 55:47city were like 45 minutes away, which we we had originally
- 55:52thought, we'd be a lot closer than that.
- 55:54But as we look, this is just what we found that we liked.
- 55:56And we thought, you know, let's rent here for a while and then
- 55:59we can move closer and I will kind of where we're at trying to
- 56:01get that out but you can get more bang for your buck up here.
- 56:04It's different and then my friends I told you that moved
- 56:06here the same week we did they bought right down in the city.
- 56:09So So so yeah, we're having a very different like they're
- 56:14there, but they're still in the neighborhood and they live in an
- 56:16amazing house in amazing neighborhood.
- 56:18She's very different because like they don't have any kids.
- 56:21So they don't have to think about schools because I don't
- 56:23think the schools in their area are good.
- 56:26So just kind of depends on it really is going to be dipped
- 56:29like depend on each individual situation but for you guys I
- 56:32would say you're kinda like us. So I would say like suburbs
- 56:36north of the city. Yeah.
- 56:38Unless you want to just go right into the city for a while.
- 56:40Well I mean, I don't know. I mean because down in the city,
- 56:42there's places you can go tape auditions.
- 56:44There's acting classes. There's kind of all the things
- 56:46that you get in l.a. up here. No, that's okay.
- 56:51Well, I mean, it could take me if I had an in-person audition,
- 56:55could take 45 minutes to get there anyway so did we?
- 56:58That's true. That is very dead, LA traffic,
- 57:01that back to normal. I am great.
- 57:08Not that. I enjoyed the pandemic but the
- 57:11traffic was not. I mean not that I was going
- 57:13anywhere during the pandemic either.
- 57:14But traffic is yeah. Back to normal.
- 57:20All right, well my final question for you which I love to
- 57:23ask is what has been a lifesaver for you throughout.
- 57:27I guess the past 56 years. As a mom, as an actor, it could
- 57:34be a product a mantra anything. What's just been like something
- 57:41that's helped you? like either just like put the
- 57:44babies to sleep or like well I mean listen for the last six
- 57:54years I just have to say Eminem was the thinking that got us
- 58:00through all this but um, gosh. I don't know as an actress, I
- 58:09think just that, you know, knowing that It's tricky
- 58:13because, you know, there is a sphere of like aging out, you
- 58:17know, of like the project you want and not being the aunjanue
- 58:22anymore. So I think just kind of keeping
- 58:26like, just reminding myself that there are all different kinds of
- 58:32roles. We are going to have
- 58:33opportunities for as long as we want them.
- 58:35And And then yeah. And then Eminem's that so I
- 58:42should just keep eating Eminem's and just save your life.
- 58:49Yeah, that's amazing. Oh my gosh, your husband so good
- 58:53to talk to you. I appreciate you taking your
- 58:56time. Especially I know.
- 58:57Time is limited darling. Three, beautiful, beautiful
- 59:03girls, thank you, right back at you.
- 59:05She is so, Herbal my gosh. Yeah.
- 59:08They're they're so so they're just like, scrumptious.
- 59:12Oh my gosh. I'm so excited that.
- 59:13You're just starting this journey to because that's such a
- 59:15fun place to be. And I'll make things ahead of
- 59:18you. It's so awesome.
- 59:20Yeah, I'm excited. Well, thank you again.
- 59:22Oh my gosh, you're great. I wish you the continued
- 59:26success. It's so good.
- 59:29Seeing your beautiful face and talking to you too, and I will
- 59:34hopefully talk to you soon. And Is a look into mommy would
