- 0:05Speaker 1: What's the family. I'm Tamika D. Mallory and I might
- 0:07Speaker 1: son in general. Welcome to Street Politicians, the place where
- 0:11Speaker 1: the streets and politics meet. It's a new year, but
- 0:15Speaker 1: a lot of the same things happening. I saw a
- 0:19Speaker 1: meme that had me like crying the other day that
- 0:22Speaker 1: said that went home and put away on and came
- 0:26Speaker 1: back as one like a little different. We look a
- 0:29Speaker 1: little different, but ain't much. In fact, it's like a
- 0:34Speaker 1: turn up. It's like winning home and worked out. Got
- 0:40Speaker 1: a little because because you if you think about it,
- 0:43Speaker 1: didn't start off like like you know what I'm saying,
- 0:46Speaker 1: like midway through and she was like, oh this this
- 0:48Speaker 1: is different quarter through quarter through it like yo, And
- 0:53Speaker 1: I mean the sad part about the continuation of the
- 0:58Speaker 1: craziness that we went through and twenty twenty is that
- 1:01Speaker 1: this pandemic continues to take lives, to claim people. Um.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I think that now we're seeing that each day something
- 1:09Speaker 1: like four thousand people are dying, and that's you know,
- 1:12Speaker 1: very significant, and we know, first of all, we don't
- 1:15Speaker 1: want to see anyone die, especially from UM a virus
- 1:19Speaker 1: that has hit our communities and just hit the world
- 1:21Speaker 1: in the way in which it has, but we know
- 1:24Speaker 1: for sure that black and brown people are in those numbers,
- 1:27Speaker 1: and that many people within our communities are impact. And
- 1:30Speaker 1: the thing I think that is so troubling about how
- 1:34Speaker 1: the coronavirus or COVID nineteen operates is that even though yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 1: you know, they close restaurants and try to close the
- 1:44Speaker 1: cities and in certain ways, whenever a person does get
- 1:48Speaker 1: the virus and they are around family members and particularly
- 1:53Speaker 1: elderly people, or if you are someone who works in
- 1:56Speaker 1: the healthcare industry, works at nursing homes, in hospital at all,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and you get it and give it to other people.
- 2:03Speaker 1: When folks die, they die two and three people in
- 2:06Speaker 1: a family, even more at times um. And so it's
- 2:10Speaker 1: just really it's sad that there there's no I don't
- 2:13Speaker 1: see an end in sight. And I know that the
- 2:15Speaker 1: vaccine should be or is for some people, a solution
- 2:20Speaker 1: to that, but then we're just looking at how slow
- 2:23Speaker 1: it's moving in terms of people getting vaccinated. You have
- 2:26Speaker 1: people like us who are very very challenged with the
- 2:29Speaker 1: idea of taking a vaccine. UM. So there's so much
- 2:32Speaker 1: even with that, so I'm not sure exactly how we
- 2:35Speaker 1: will get to a point where we have heard immunity.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Maybe that is the next step um or that we
- 2:42Speaker 1: even just feel comfortable enough to go back to some
- 2:44Speaker 1: form of normalcy. I don't know what the new norm is. Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I understand. I think for me man, just looking at
- 2:52Speaker 1: the pandemic, looking at COVID nineteen and just seeing how
- 2:55Speaker 1: it's affect in the way it's spreading, it is it's
- 2:59Speaker 1: something like we've never seem like I don't even understand it,
- 3:01Speaker 1: Like every time you try to understand it and they
- 3:04Speaker 1: give you know, And I don't think nobody other than
- 3:06Speaker 1: is And I think that's the problem for me. I
- 3:08Speaker 1: think that the government is trying to make mandates and
- 3:11Speaker 1: trying to shut this down and shut this down, or
- 3:14Speaker 1: we shouldn't go here, and we should And every time
- 3:16Speaker 1: it seems like they decided they're shutting something down, it
- 3:18Speaker 1: seems like it's getting worse. So it seems like they
- 3:21Speaker 1: they're not really making the proper decisions. They said, put
- 3:24Speaker 1: you in the hospital, or first we need to put
- 3:26Speaker 1: you in respirators. No, we don't need to put you
- 3:27Speaker 1: in restiate. We don't need to do that. We need
- 3:29Speaker 1: to change this. They don't know what they're doing it,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and it's it's like, unfortunately is at the expense of
- 3:35Speaker 1: people's lives, you know. So we're dealing we're dealing with
- 3:38Speaker 1: something that we don't know where it came from. We
- 3:40Speaker 1: don't know if it's man made, we don't know if
- 3:42Speaker 1: it's a virus, we don't know what it is because
- 3:45Speaker 1: it doesn't have any form. Like one person can have
- 3:48Speaker 1: a coal next person is dying in two days, like well,
- 3:51Speaker 1: And I think that's what makes it so crazy and,
- 3:54Speaker 1: like you said, so hard to understand. And even with
- 3:57Speaker 1: the respirators and the amount of lives that have been
- 4:00Speaker 1: taken based upon incompetence lack of knowledge, A lot of
- 4:04Speaker 1: that has to do with the fact that like people
- 4:07Speaker 1: didn't know, even in the health care industry, they didn't know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: and so they try things, um that we're not that's
- 4:15Speaker 1: not good for our communities they sent. That's what I
- 4:17Speaker 1: mean by incompetence. They sent a lot of people who
- 4:20Speaker 1: needed help home. Um. And even in my own personal
- 4:24Speaker 1: life right now, I have an uncle who already deals
- 4:27Speaker 1: with respiratory issues and he's elderly, and because of the
- 4:31Speaker 1: fact that he is, you know, looked upon as someone
- 4:34Speaker 1: who is not young and healthy. Um there, he has
- 4:38Speaker 1: COVID right now, and he's like on a guarney in
- 4:41Speaker 1: the hallway in a hospital in Alabama and not really
- 4:44Speaker 1: receiving the type of care that he deserves because the
- 4:48Speaker 1: hospitals are so crowded that they are unable to give
- 4:52Speaker 1: every single person the type of attention that they need.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to make excuses because first of all,
- 4:57Speaker 1: it's my uncle, so I really would like for them
- 4:59Speaker 1: to do everything that they can. But at the same time,
- 5:03Speaker 1: I understand that once the system is stretched in the
- 5:05Speaker 1: way that it is, it's very difficult, especially in America,
- 5:09Speaker 1: where our health care system is already trashed without a pandemic.
- 5:14Speaker 1: It's just a really, really bad situation. And it makes
- 5:19Speaker 1: me so sad when I travel to places like Atlanta,
- 5:22Speaker 1: um like Miami, and just other cities that I've been
- 5:26Speaker 1: in over the last several months, and I see how
- 5:28Speaker 1: many young black people, particularly are not wearing masks, are
- 5:33Speaker 1: out partying and having such a good time. And to
- 5:36Speaker 1: your point, it's almost like, well, when they start shutting
- 5:41Speaker 1: down and not being able to go out and party
- 5:44Speaker 1: and do these things, it seems like the death rate
- 5:46Speaker 1: goes up. But the argument that I'm constantly making is
- 5:50Speaker 1: that they already know that these people are sick by
- 5:53Speaker 1: the time they shut it down, So when these folks
- 5:55Speaker 1: start dying, they would have been dying anyway in mind
- 5:58Speaker 1: and mind. I think I'm trying to say, in my opinion,
- 6:01Speaker 1: it's just like when you look at it every time
- 6:04Speaker 1: they say when New York was on the shop there
- 6:06Speaker 1: before New York was on the shut now it was couple,
- 6:11Speaker 1: then it turned into as soon as they shut it
- 6:13Speaker 1: down was thousands a day. Yeah, but I don't think.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I think that that's when when we look at l A,
- 6:18Speaker 1: now we look at thousands a day before they shut
- 6:21Speaker 1: it down, like l A is probably wanted the major
- 6:24Speaker 1: big cities. Anyway, We're not doctors and we don't know. No,
- 6:28Speaker 1: we're not doctors and we don't know. But I do
- 6:30Speaker 1: think that the problem is that people were already sick
- 6:34Speaker 1: by the time the state realized it's time to shut
- 6:37Speaker 1: it down. And so I don't know, we don't know
- 6:39Speaker 1: the solution, we don't know how to deal with it.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But what I do know is that young black people
- 6:45Speaker 1: and people just in general across this nation need to
- 6:49Speaker 1: realize that it's no longer about individualism. It's not about
- 6:54Speaker 1: me and whether or not if I get sick, it's
- 6:56Speaker 1: not as bad. I had coronavirus. I had COVID nineteen
- 7:00Speaker 1: and I was sick for about a week. And I
- 7:02Speaker 1: always tell people, if I look at it from a
- 7:04Speaker 1: scale of one to six, I was probably around the three.
- 7:07Speaker 1: But I know that if I had been a five,
- 7:09Speaker 1: if I had been anywhere close to that, I don't
- 7:10Speaker 1: know if I could make it, because there were definitely
- 7:12Speaker 1: days when I wasn't sure if it was getting worse
- 7:15Speaker 1: and whether or not I have to go to the hospital.
- 7:17Speaker 1: So when I think about that, I would never want
- 7:19Speaker 1: to inflict something like that on another person, whether I
- 7:23Speaker 1: know them or not. I don't want to go into
- 7:25Speaker 1: a restaurant, a store, or anywhere else knowing that I
- 7:28Speaker 1: have exposed myself or that I'm even infected, and go
- 7:32Speaker 1: out and give it to other people. Because not everyone
- 7:35Speaker 1: is gonna be a three or two, or you know,
- 7:37Speaker 1: or be able to get rid of it in a
- 7:38Speaker 1: couple of days, or get rid of the symptoms in
- 7:40Speaker 1: a couple of days. So you know, we just gotta
- 7:42Speaker 1: start living as if we're living for a community. And
- 7:46Speaker 1: not just for a few Yeah, speaking of Georgia, speaking
- 7:51Speaker 1: the elections going off, and yes, well it really is.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Shout out to black women men organized. No. No, let
- 8:02Speaker 1: me add people black women who organized because black women. No.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But in terms of the major voices of those who
- 8:11Speaker 1: put the resources on the ground, the LaTosha Browns. Even
- 8:14Speaker 1: though you know you gotta give Cliff Albright her partners
- 8:17Speaker 1: some love too, but he would tell you that Latasha
- 8:20Speaker 1: Brown of Black Voters Matter was major in terms of organizing.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Stacy Abrams, do Wanna Thompson, Helen Butler, who we've had
- 8:29Speaker 1: on the show. These individuals are people who, um, as
- 8:33Speaker 1: black women, understood the importance of stopping everything else that's
- 8:37Speaker 1: going on in life and focusing on organizing in Georgia.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Then of course black women and men voted and made
- 8:45Speaker 1: it happen. Absolutely so certainly shout out to the blacks,
- 8:49Speaker 1: the black blacker black and blacks many black man. We did.
- 8:56Speaker 1: We did. Our thing was on the ground. We're not
- 8:58Speaker 1: doing doors. We to people to the polls, we fed people,
- 9:02Speaker 1: We did all things. And man, I think all eyes
- 9:04Speaker 1: was on Georgia and it showed when we collectively put
- 9:07Speaker 1: our minds to something when we want to accomplish something
- 9:10Speaker 1: that we definitely get it done. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, So
- 9:13Speaker 1: I was thinking because you know, I think my thought
- 9:16Speaker 1: of the day I think probably too much, But my
- 9:21Speaker 1: thought of the day is that so many people are
- 9:25Speaker 1: saying they still don't know what to do or what
- 9:27Speaker 1: the movement is. And I have to ask, with everything
- 9:31Speaker 1: that we see happening, if you haven't found a place, now,
- 9:35Speaker 1: what is it going to take? That's a good question,
- 9:38Speaker 1: that's a good thought to have. What is it going
- 9:40Speaker 1: to take if at this point the folks are running
- 9:44Speaker 1: up in the capital, climbing on the walls. The election
- 9:49Speaker 1: shows our power and how when we come together we
- 9:52Speaker 1: can actually change politics in this country. And now it's
- 9:56Speaker 1: time for us to change policy. So if you did
- 9:59Speaker 1: it for the politics, then you could do it for
- 10:01Speaker 1: the policy, right. Um. The pandemic has showed again that
- 10:08Speaker 1: we collectively as a community have so much to do
- 10:11Speaker 1: from a health perspective, um taken care of our elderly. Like,
- 10:15Speaker 1: there's so much happening and people are still saying, I
- 10:18Speaker 1: don't know. I think, man, I think you know what
- 10:20Speaker 1: it is a lot of people have been jaded by
- 10:24Speaker 1: the movement I get that a lot, you know, coming
- 10:27Speaker 1: from marginalized communities and projects and communities with poverty stricken.
- 10:32Speaker 1: They don't. They don't believe, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:34Speaker 1: They've been like, oh, we've been watching and we've been
- 10:36Speaker 1: doing this, and all we've been doing that. I don't
- 10:38Speaker 1: want to vote. I don't. They don't want to do
- 10:39Speaker 1: anything because in their mind, prior to this exact moment,
- 10:44Speaker 1: they didn't see where they vote count They didn't see
- 10:46Speaker 1: where their march county, didn't see where their protests counting.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I think in this moment right now, we're starting to
- 10:52Speaker 1: see levels of change. We're starting to see when we
- 10:54Speaker 1: collectively come together as a community with one goal, how
- 10:58Speaker 1: it changes. Like we we actually as a community, as
- 11:02Speaker 1: a people, as a culture, voted in the presidents. We
- 11:05Speaker 1: actually we change the trajectory, Like when we look at Georgia,
- 11:09Speaker 1: we change a traditionally red state into blue. And it's
- 11:13Speaker 1: not about you know what, It's not partisan for me,
- 11:17Speaker 1: but it's just understanding that we had an objective and
- 11:19Speaker 1: we understood that we needed this to get what we wanted.
- 11:22Speaker 1: We needed to be able to put a Senate in
- 11:24Speaker 1: place that was gonna be able to give the president
- 11:27Speaker 1: that we gave an opportunity, you know, the opportunity to
- 11:32Speaker 1: actually in enact laws and legislation that we need as
- 11:36Speaker 1: black people. So I think a lot of people was like, wow,
- 11:39Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I think that prior
- 11:41Speaker 1: to that moment, a lot of people was. But I
- 11:43Speaker 1: think right now. I had an interview yesterday actually literally,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and I told him I'm like, you just have to
- 11:49Speaker 1: find out what it is that you can contribute. Like
- 11:51Speaker 1: everybody doesn't do the thing You're not gonna do. Be
- 11:53Speaker 1: on the front lines with me. You know, you might
- 11:55Speaker 1: not be able to contribute five or ten thousand now
- 11:59Speaker 1: you might have five college that you contribute to one
- 12:01Speaker 1: organization that does the work every month. You know what
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm saying. You might know how to do social media too,
- 12:06Speaker 1: where you tweet out something that's going on that we're
- 12:09Speaker 1: dealing with, or notify us about things. You might be
- 12:11Speaker 1: able to find information to notify the leaders who have
- 12:15Speaker 1: platforms and have the ears of the people to give
- 12:18Speaker 1: them information. Hey, this is going on because I go
- 12:20Speaker 1: on my d MS daily and there's certain people that
- 12:23Speaker 1: find information for me. Like I don't automatically just know
- 12:26Speaker 1: what's going on, Oh what's going on? And they find
- 12:29Speaker 1: him like did you know about this? And they send
- 12:32Speaker 1: us dms all times, So that might be your entry
- 12:34Speaker 1: point into the movement, you know what I'm saying. Some
- 12:36Speaker 1: people have Some people work every day so they can't
- 12:39Speaker 1: come out and be on the front lines, but they
- 12:41Speaker 1: utilize they informed somebody else about what's going on. Then
- 12:44Speaker 1: there are people who are able to come out in
- 12:46Speaker 1: protests and utilize their bodies and sacrifice. So there's just
- 12:50Speaker 1: so many different ways into this movement, and we don't
- 12:52Speaker 1: just we need you to understand that. There's definitely a
- 12:55Speaker 1: way for you if you really want to. So many
- 12:57Speaker 1: ways to get involved, and they're really just as no excuse.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And I think a lot of people use excuses because
- 13:04Speaker 1: you know, there's fear um and there's complacency, and it's
- 13:09Speaker 1: just good old laziness, right Like, let's not try to
- 13:13Speaker 1: uh go around it. It's good old laziness. Sometimes we
- 13:17Speaker 1: see what other folks are doing and say it's too hard,
- 13:21Speaker 1: and you know what, it is difficult to get up
- 13:24Speaker 1: every day, to be committed to a struggle, to have
- 13:27Speaker 1: to um, you know, really think about and monitor the
- 13:31Speaker 1: things you say the things you do, the way you
- 13:34Speaker 1: operate in the world, because you don't want to be
- 13:36Speaker 1: a hypocrite to what it is that you're working on.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Um And none of us are perfect right because we
- 13:42Speaker 1: still constantly find ourselves having to reshape, reform, come back,
- 13:47Speaker 1: think about our choices. You know, it's it's a it
- 13:50Speaker 1: is a lot of work, but it's also a lot
- 13:52Speaker 1: of work to watch people are people dying every day.
- 13:56Speaker 1: It's also a lot of work living in communities where
- 13:59Speaker 1: you're you know, living in in public housing and you
- 14:02Speaker 1: walking stepping over urine and having to walk up steps,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and you know, not having the proper heat and having
- 14:07Speaker 1: rodents running through your apartments. It's also a lot of work.
- 14:11Speaker 1: You know, they have to boil that water because there's
- 14:13Speaker 1: no hot water in the building. It's a lot of
- 14:15Speaker 1: work to have to go to a further hospital. Um,
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know, not be able to go to the one
- 14:20Speaker 1: in your community, because it's you know, if you go
- 14:22Speaker 1: there with certain problems, you will probably have three more
- 14:25Speaker 1: when you leave, So now you've got to travel across town.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I mean, it's a lot of work to have to
- 14:30Speaker 1: live every day being black and brown in America and
- 14:34Speaker 1: so we might as well figure out how to make
- 14:37Speaker 1: most of our efforts be about our progress rather than
- 14:40Speaker 1: just sort of accepting things as they are. So that's
- 14:43Speaker 1: my thought of the day. Find something. If you can't,
- 14:47Speaker 1: if you if you if you can't find anything yet
- 14:49Speaker 1: and you don't see that there is a state of
- 14:51Speaker 1: emergency emergency, then I don't know when you ever go
- 14:55Speaker 1: listen and find something. You know, my model, we don't
- 14:58Speaker 1: have the right to do nothing to make sure you
- 15:00Speaker 1: find out. So you know, the streets is talking. They're
- 15:02Speaker 1: still talking after about a thousand times and a thousand
- 15:06Speaker 1: lawsuits being overturned, and no, they finally times again certified
- 15:14Speaker 1: that Biden won the election, that we have a new president.
- 15:18Speaker 1: After a thousand times Trump had pulled Trump and Stein
- 15:23Speaker 1: pulled out every stop once again. In my life now,
- 15:27Speaker 1: I've been paying attention to politics for at least twenty
- 15:30Speaker 1: five years, and never in my life have I seen
- 15:34Speaker 1: elections take this type of like time. And like I said,
- 15:38Speaker 1: I asked somebody that they I think it might have
- 15:40Speaker 1: been you and Angelo. I'm like when you in the past,
- 15:44Speaker 1: when people we went out and we voted for president
- 15:47Speaker 1: or anything else that night, they told you so and
- 15:50Speaker 1: so is the winner. That's what I remember that this
- 15:53Speaker 1: is a whole new game. This is the thing. In
- 15:55Speaker 1: two weeks, three weeks, three months, This vote I keep
- 15:58Speaker 1: trying to tell people is running the White House like
- 16:01Speaker 1: the Mafield. And it's not. It's not even it's not
- 16:03Speaker 1: even a joke. At this point we realized the seriousness
- 16:06Speaker 1: of it, you know. And he was actually on because
- 16:08Speaker 1: and when you listen to the phone call that he
- 16:11Speaker 1: was on with Rasburger anyway, and he was telling them
- 16:17Speaker 1: find me some votes. The Secretary of State of Georgia,
- 16:20Speaker 1: that's the person in charge of secretary. He said, listen,
- 16:24Speaker 1: find me some votes. It's only about eleven thousand. I
- 16:27Speaker 1: need you to find me the vote. Imagine if Barack
- 16:33Speaker 1: Obama would have been on the phone with the Secretary
- 16:37Speaker 1: of States and cups the next about eleven thousand. But
- 16:43Speaker 1: you see, the thing about Trump Mice is that Trump
- 16:48Speaker 1: is operating out He's operating is the most funniest yet scary.
- 16:54Speaker 1: It's not even He is operating in pure white nous.
- 17:01Speaker 1: His whiteness says that I have authority, entitlement, privilege. It
- 17:08Speaker 1: is what white supremacy is all about. And people get
- 17:12Speaker 1: really upset with me when I say that, because they're like,
- 17:14Speaker 1: are you saying that all white people know? We're not
- 17:17Speaker 1: saying all white people behave a certain way. We're saying that. Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 1: What we're saying is that the idea of whiteness in America,
- 17:29Speaker 1: the concept, the social constructs of whiteness in America, it
- 17:35Speaker 1: is ingrained in the idea of supremacy. Right, And he
- 17:41Speaker 1: operates as if he is running or doing a deal
- 17:45Speaker 1: for a new apartment building or a new casino. So
- 17:49Speaker 1: when he calls the bank right and speaks to his homies,
- 17:53Speaker 1: other white people who are bank officers, and they need
- 17:57Speaker 1: to find money for building, you know, money for construction,
- 18:01Speaker 1: for development, that's what he says, I need another eleven
- 18:05Speaker 1: million dollars. Help find me some money, look through my
- 18:08Speaker 1: portfolio and see where we can move things around. That
- 18:11Speaker 1: is how he is used to operation, and we just
- 18:15Speaker 1: having this conversation. Is he is adamant that he won
- 18:20Speaker 1: by landslode, like a landslas won by landslide. So if
- 18:25Speaker 1: you want by landslide, why the hell would somebody have
- 18:28Speaker 1: to find you some vote? We should have to try
- 18:34Speaker 1: to find the other persons of votes, because you won
- 18:37Speaker 1: by so much. It just doesn't make sense, none of it.
- 18:39Speaker 1: It's not supposed to make sense though, because it's not right.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And at least the Secretary of State while on this call,
- 18:46Speaker 1: although let me just tell you, we're not about to
- 18:48Speaker 1: uplift any of these individuals, right because they you know,
- 18:53Speaker 1: because they have their own history of suppressing the black vote.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And there's more that can be done in the state
- 19:00Speaker 1: of Georgia and in other places across this nation to
- 19:03Speaker 1: protect black people, to protect these elections, and moreover, to
- 19:08Speaker 1: challenge this crazy person that is finally out of the
- 19:11Speaker 1: White House or on his way out right. So there's
- 19:14Speaker 1: much more that could have been done. And that's why
- 19:17Speaker 1: I am not um. I don't care about the lullabys
- 19:20Speaker 1: that Lindsay Graham is singing. I don't care about Mitch mcconne.
- 19:24Speaker 1: All these people all of a sudden have found their morality.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Facebook and Twitter have all of a sudden decided they
- 19:32Speaker 1: have aided and abetted for four years, matter of fact,
- 19:36Speaker 1: five years, even when this man was running for office.
- 19:39Speaker 1: They aided and abetted what we saw happening at the
- 19:43Speaker 1: Capitol and where people have died as a result of them.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Not checking this man in the first place. Politicians, what's
- 19:55Speaker 1: so crazy is that you know that what he's saying
- 19:59Speaker 1: has to be far fit right, because they want to
- 20:02Speaker 1: cheat anyway they've been cheating. This is so far fast.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We can't even help you with this, Like we said, please,
- 20:11Speaker 1: we have to go leave you out, one of our
- 20:13Speaker 1: best sister friends. But what I want you to know
- 20:17Speaker 1: is that it's not that they that is because he's
- 20:20Speaker 1: saying something so far fast. It's because they know he's
- 20:22Speaker 1: out and they need to save face at this point
- 20:25Speaker 1: because they think people are stupid and don't remember trying
- 20:30Speaker 1: to act not someone I hear you saying. They But
- 20:32Speaker 1: the thing is, if they can make sure he stayed in,
- 20:35Speaker 1: they would, they would they know he's out because they
- 20:39Speaker 1: can't do This is a debate. This is a debate
- 20:43Speaker 1: that we can't have, but I would love to have it.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I don't think they want him to stay in because
- 20:48Speaker 1: the way that Joe Biden acts is if he is
- 20:51Speaker 1: more so their friends, then he should be. He's over
- 20:55Speaker 1: here talking about these people are not our enemies because
- 20:59Speaker 1: to pay trying to play a game of chess, right
- 21:02Speaker 1: that he thinks he's playing chess, But back the end
- 21:04Speaker 1: of the day, it never really wins because you can't
- 21:07Speaker 1: really negotiate with terrorists. So his his thing is like,
- 21:10Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna need them, and I have some
- 21:12Speaker 1: relationships with them, and I probably ain't gonna do shift
- 21:15Speaker 1: for us anyway. But at the end of what, I
- 21:18Speaker 1: don't know, maybe he is, I don't know, but whatever
- 21:20Speaker 1: it is, he's trying to he's trying to tread this
- 21:22Speaker 1: little in the middle thing. He don't work side. Pick
- 21:27Speaker 1: a side, Joe Biden, pick a side, and Kamala Harris
- 21:32Speaker 1: if you don't pick the right side, I said, I
- 21:36Speaker 1: said this on my Instagram. We don't did everything. We
- 21:39Speaker 1: got you all elected, you don't got you all to senate.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Black people are gonna need something. We are on your ass, Jesus.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Before we go to the next segment and have our
- 21:52Speaker 1: special guests joint, we're gonna take a quick break for
- 21:54Speaker 1: our sponsors. So we are being joined right now by
- 21:59Speaker 1: our homie, our jail mate, myself mate. She was one
- 22:04Speaker 1: of the Louisville eighty seven, which is when I was arrested.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Eighty seven of us who sat on the lawn um
- 22:10Speaker 1: at Daniel Cameron's house to demand justice for Brianna Taylor.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But then she's also in the sixty five, which I
- 22:18Speaker 1: didn't know, and we call it the eight seven sixty five.
- 22:24Speaker 1: A group of incredible people who have continued for the
- 22:28Speaker 1: most far to work together UM and continue to organize
- 22:32Speaker 1: on behalf of Brianna Taylor. UM. It's a group of
- 22:35Speaker 1: individuals that I'm proud to be a part of because
- 22:38Speaker 1: a lot of them were folks who had never ever
- 22:41Speaker 1: participated in civil disobedience before. And Porsche was actually one
- 22:45Speaker 1: of those individuals. And so I'm so happy that my sister,
- 22:49Speaker 1: she has now become my sister. And I tell everybody
- 22:53Speaker 1: so that people understand how Porsche got involved that I
- 22:57Speaker 1: called her because we have a mut mutual friend in
- 23:01Speaker 1: Jennifer Williams. UM. I called and I said, you know,
- 23:05Speaker 1: would you be willing to come to participate in civil
- 23:08Speaker 1: disobedience with us? I said, you don't have to, but
- 23:11Speaker 1: if you can, at least come and use your platform
- 23:13Speaker 1: to help us get the message out and bring awareness
- 23:17Speaker 1: to Brianna Taylor to us as organizes on the ground.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You know, would you do that? And she flew in,
- 23:23Speaker 1: spent her own money, bought a family, UM, and came
- 23:27Speaker 1: out and stood with us and decided at some point
- 23:29Speaker 1: throughout the day that you know what, I'm gonna go ahead,
- 23:32Speaker 1: um and and break the law um in order to
- 23:37Speaker 1: really really make people pay attention to Brianna. And so
- 23:40Speaker 1: Porscha Williams is our sister, our sister, girl out friend
- 23:44Speaker 1: UM and partner partner in the movement. Hey, portion portion,
- 23:51Speaker 1: what's up y'all. I'm so glad to be here with y'all.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Thank you for that introduction, Well, thank you, Thank you
- 23:56Speaker 1: for being, you know, one of those celebrities. You know,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you're not a celebrity me because you like my sister,
- 24:03Speaker 1: but to the world, you are a celebrity that is
- 24:06Speaker 1: willing to make the sacrifice. Man. There's a lot of people,
- 24:09Speaker 1: you know, there's a lot of people that are from
- 24:10Speaker 1: the sidelines say what they would have done or what
- 24:13Speaker 1: you should be doing. You're not one of those people, man.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And I've grown to know how authentic you are. You know,
- 24:19Speaker 1: you came down to Littleville and you was with us,
- 24:22Speaker 1: and you was like, what were we doing? You know,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and you was there every step of the way, man,
- 24:26Speaker 1: And we just want to say thank you for continuing
- 24:29Speaker 1: to be authentic. That's that's that's me all all all
- 24:35Speaker 1: the way. And you know, I appreciate it for sure.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I don't even I feel like I deserve any thanks
- 24:40Speaker 1: or whatever, because to me, it's so crazy when I
- 24:43Speaker 1: think about it, it's just a matter of doing what
- 24:46Speaker 1: I feel I'm supposed to be doing, Like why else?
- 24:49Speaker 1: You know, it's a lot of times you have your
- 24:51Speaker 1: here in certain places in your life and you wonder,
- 24:54Speaker 1: you know, why am I giving this opportunity? Or like
- 24:56Speaker 1: even for me, it's like, wow, I got six million
- 24:58Speaker 1: people who follow me on Instagram? What am I? What
- 25:01Speaker 1: have I've been talking about? What is all of this for?
- 25:03Speaker 1: What is all of this amounted to? And what was
- 25:06Speaker 1: it building up to? And for me it hit me
- 25:09Speaker 1: in that moment it was for a time like this.
- 25:11Speaker 1: It was for me to come in contact with Tamika.
- 25:14Speaker 1: It was gonna find out what she was doing and
- 25:16Speaker 1: until freedom was being a part of you all had
- 25:19Speaker 1: your entire organization to Kentucky. Um. He had brought so
- 25:22Speaker 1: much attention and awareness to into detail into Brianna Taylor's
- 25:26Speaker 1: story that it made me say, oh my gosh, that
- 25:30Speaker 1: is so inspiring. Let me lend this platform that I've
- 25:34Speaker 1: been blessed with. You know this, I've been on here
- 25:36Speaker 1: saying so many other things. Why not say Brianna Taylor's name?
- 25:40Speaker 1: If it could even bring UM one other official UM
- 25:45Speaker 1: and and bring attention to what's happening to her, if
- 25:47Speaker 1: it could help even a little bit, it just felt
- 25:50Speaker 1: like a natural duty that I needed to do. You know,
- 25:52Speaker 1: it just wasn't even a question. So for me, when
- 25:56Speaker 1: I think about it, it's like when I think about celebrities,
- 25:58Speaker 1: just like, why not think about it? We post everything
- 26:01Speaker 1: on Instagram, right, I mean, I mean everything you post
- 26:04Speaker 1: with your eight, you post your child's birthday, you post
- 26:07Speaker 1: your friends, bitch you posted if you have a platform
- 26:10Speaker 1: and people are listening to you, and it's a time
- 26:13Speaker 1: like this where we need to reach people and get
- 26:15Speaker 1: all hands on deck and get people involving. If people
- 26:18Speaker 1: are formed, then that's exactly what I need to be
- 26:21Speaker 1: talking about when the camera is on me. That's exactly
- 26:23Speaker 1: what I need to be showing when the eyes are
- 26:25Speaker 1: watching me. And so UM I felt very blessed to
- 26:29Speaker 1: be even in contact with you all, and specially to
- 26:33Speaker 1: connect with Tunika the way that I did at that time,
- 26:35Speaker 1: because you never know a lot of times some celebrities,
- 26:39Speaker 1: to be honest, the reason why they some of them
- 26:42Speaker 1: probably don't really get their hands in and their feet
- 26:45Speaker 1: grounded in um with activists because you don't really know
- 26:50Speaker 1: if you're welcome or not. You don't really know if
- 26:52Speaker 1: someone's gonna question it or whatever. But for me, I
- 26:56Speaker 1: did not care. I was like, listen, real recogniz is
- 27:00Speaker 1: real in this situation. And if this young lady has
- 27:04Speaker 1: been doing this much work and she sees that I
- 27:06Speaker 1: can be effective in any way possible, I'm gonna do
- 27:10Speaker 1: whatever she says. She's my leader from today forward, you know.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And so I truly trusted the process and I truly
- 27:18Speaker 1: have been blessed just by being a part of it
- 27:21Speaker 1: and making that step and making that sacrifice. So that's
- 27:24Speaker 1: like when I say, like people say, you know, well,
- 27:26Speaker 1: thank you for that, It's like, no, I am humble,
- 27:29Speaker 1: and I am thankful to even be near what my
- 27:33Speaker 1: grandfather and other right activists have had done in the past.
- 27:39Speaker 1: So stop right there, because we got to talk about that,
- 27:42Speaker 1: because it's not that you just felt it was the
- 27:46Speaker 1: right thing to do. That sounds good, right. I love
- 27:50Speaker 1: hearing you'd be so humble and I just felt it
- 27:53Speaker 1: was the right thing to do. You know, there's a lineage.
- 27:56Speaker 1: First of all, I've seen you out in Atlanta involved
- 27:59Speaker 1: in before Brianna Taylor, involved in protests, evolved and involved
- 28:03Speaker 1: in organizing and community work. So this is not new,
- 28:06Speaker 1: maybe on the scale of Brianna Taylor and how international
- 28:11Speaker 1: the movement for justice is. UM. However, you have been
- 28:17Speaker 1: doing the work locally for a long time. And there's
- 28:20Speaker 1: a reason there's lineage. Your family has been rooted in
- 28:24Speaker 1: social justice and civil rights, and we want to hear
- 28:27Speaker 1: about that. Yes, that's true. UM, I definitely had been
- 28:31Speaker 1: active in Atlanta. My grandfather, Reverend Josia William who was
- 28:34Speaker 1: an activist also with a thig philanthropist, and so our
- 28:37Speaker 1: family's charities UM for Josea has been changed for Josea,
- 28:41Speaker 1: but it was Josea Fitha hunger and homeless, and I
- 28:44Speaker 1: took part in in that part of my family giving
- 28:47Speaker 1: back to community. So that just kind of over the years,
- 28:50Speaker 1: of course, gave me a heart for the people period,
- 28:54Speaker 1: Like any time anything that's going on, I just want
- 28:56Speaker 1: to be their period. Um. You know, when I talk
- 28:58Speaker 1: about how inspired I was to do something, now it's
- 29:02Speaker 1: with this particular platform and in this particular way. But
- 29:06Speaker 1: you know, growing up and having a grandfather like referenose
- 29:09Speaker 1: and Williams who was so profound in the movement, and
- 29:13Speaker 1: the way he was used in the movement is very
- 29:15Speaker 1: similar to some of the things that I see that
- 29:18Speaker 1: I feel being led to do. He was one of
- 29:20Speaker 1: the people who would rouse everybody up together and get
- 29:23Speaker 1: them just fired up about the cause and organize and
- 29:27Speaker 1: get them out there and and encourage people to be
- 29:30Speaker 1: on the front line and what that purpose and what
- 29:32Speaker 1: that meant. Um. He also was on Edmonds Tennis Bridge, Um,
- 29:37Speaker 1: you know, on bloody Sunday. And you know, I remember,
- 29:41Speaker 1: I remember you calling out when we were actually on
- 29:44Speaker 1: the bridge in Kentucky. You said, this is our bloody Sunday,
- 29:48Speaker 1: and this is that moment. And I really did feel
- 29:50Speaker 1: his spirit, Um really just come and center me and
- 29:55Speaker 1: comfort me and just make me feel like what I
- 29:57Speaker 1: was doing was right for people who don't no bloody Sunday,
- 30:02Speaker 1: Uh was directly connected to the right to vote. That
- 30:06Speaker 1: the civil rights leaders of that time, we're fighting for
- 30:09Speaker 1: the right to vote. So your grandfather was a part
- 30:11Speaker 1: of that, and it was actually a full circle because
- 30:14Speaker 1: we actually voted on his birthday, on my grandfather's birthday,
- 30:18Speaker 1: So it was it was so crazy that they came
- 30:20Speaker 1: full circle like that. Um. But yes, and it was
- 30:23Speaker 1: the sacrifice of them. Again, why were we doing it?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Because we wanted America to see the its ugliness. We
- 30:29Speaker 1: wanted to see what had been done to this beautiful
- 30:31Speaker 1: young queen Brianna Taylor and see them arrest us while
- 30:34Speaker 1: we were being peaceful. And that's the same thing they
- 30:37Speaker 1: had done then, to show its ugliness, to see what
- 30:40Speaker 1: we were what was happening to African American people. So
- 30:43Speaker 1: it had been in me and I had definitely marched
- 30:45Speaker 1: with my grandfather before, um, you know, when I was
- 30:48Speaker 1: much much younger, So I have felt the hatred from
- 30:50Speaker 1: white supremacy before. And that's just it's so crazy, right
- 30:53Speaker 1: when you look at that type of work because my
- 30:55Speaker 1: by myself, you know, doing this work, it comes from
- 30:58Speaker 1: a place of authents and it comes from one to
- 31:01Speaker 1: do what's right and understand that we have a platform,
- 31:04Speaker 1: that we have a voice, that we can utilize that.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And I constantly go to social media and hear people like, oh,
- 31:11Speaker 1: you're a fake activists, and this is this is a joke.
- 31:14Speaker 1: You're just trying to get people to pay attention, and
- 31:17Speaker 1: you just want people views, and this is not real,
- 31:20Speaker 1: and and and and it used to insult me, you know,
- 31:22Speaker 1: like I used to feel like, yo, you know how
- 31:24Speaker 1: authentic this is for me? You know how much I sacrifice,
- 31:27Speaker 1: you know how much things that you don't even know
- 31:28Speaker 1: that I do for this work that I actually do.
- 31:31Speaker 1: So how does that? How do you feel do you
- 31:33Speaker 1: get those type of attacks and when you do get that,
- 31:36Speaker 1: people questioning the authenticity of what it is you do, Like,
- 31:39Speaker 1: how do you feel? What do you what do you
- 31:41Speaker 1: think at that moment? Well, when I really had gotten
- 31:46Speaker 1: a lot of that just because of my money. It's
- 31:48Speaker 1: just because of the legacy within my family, my all
- 31:51Speaker 1: of my aunt's marks with my grandfather. Um, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 1: my father marched with my grandfather. So I never had
- 31:57Speaker 1: been questions because of who my family is. That I
- 32:00Speaker 1: did get some of that, and it was coming from
- 32:02Speaker 1: just the reality the world that I am a television personality,
- 32:05Speaker 1: and a part of it did hurt my feelings. But
- 32:07Speaker 1: then I thought to myself, at the end of the day,
- 32:09Speaker 1: even Martin Luther King was questioned and comparing myself. But
- 32:13Speaker 1: he was also questioned by the clergy, you know, what
- 32:15Speaker 1: are you doing? When he was taking apart in direct action,
- 32:18Speaker 1: it was like, oh, you put yourself in a position
- 32:20Speaker 1: to be arrested. Let me tell you, there is nothing
- 32:24Speaker 1: on this earth with me having a daughter, with me
- 32:28Speaker 1: having career that when you walk to those police officers,
- 32:31Speaker 1: you both of you guys know and you know you
- 32:33Speaker 1: risk the same people who have already proven that they
- 32:36Speaker 1: can shoot a man in the back seven times. And
- 32:38Speaker 1: I get convicted when they camprove that they have killed
- 32:40Speaker 1: a woman in her home while she was while she
- 32:43Speaker 1: was in her private spectuary. Okay, they've I've improven to
- 32:47Speaker 1: do that. They've improven to kill plenty of us, kill
- 32:50Speaker 1: Sandra Bland while she's in their custody. So we are
- 32:53Speaker 1: walking towards actual known murderers and killers. There's nothing on
- 32:58Speaker 1: this earth there would make me sacrifices for at all.
- 33:01Speaker 1: It's the most realist moment that you will ever come
- 33:03Speaker 1: into when you were facing that type of danger and
- 33:08Speaker 1: you make the decision that it is worth doing it
- 33:10Speaker 1: for someone else's life. Anything that I have ever done, um,
- 33:14Speaker 1: it was absolutely so that the cameras would see the
- 33:17Speaker 1: splin the world. It was absolutely so that people would
- 33:21Speaker 1: call call Brianna Taylor's name on all platform, absolutely so
- 33:26Speaker 1: that what I'm doing, my name would be synonymous with it,
- 33:30Speaker 1: so that she can gain some attention and get some justice. Um.
- 33:34Speaker 1: But it was all for the fact that I know
- 33:37Speaker 1: what her mother had gone through. I looked at my
- 33:39Speaker 1: mother before I left the house and I cried thinking
- 33:42Speaker 1: about if something could happen to me, And you know
- 33:45Speaker 1: what she told me, this is something you have to do.
- 33:47Speaker 1: This is your purpose. You ain't ask nobody, this is
- 33:50Speaker 1: something that you feel you were being protected by your ancestors,
- 33:54Speaker 1: Go and get it done. When you talk about you
- 33:56Speaker 1: know your mom looking at you. I remember your mom,
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'm calling like, okay, now you're arrested. So because you
- 34:04Speaker 1: didn't know right that that was gonna be the end result,
- 34:07Speaker 1: and your mom was like, so, now what exactly are
- 34:10Speaker 1: we doing? Like break all of this down for me
- 34:12Speaker 1: because people want to know that you're okay, and you know,
- 34:16Speaker 1: and I appreciate you being there as my sister. But
- 34:20Speaker 1: then we watched and you know, when my son asked
- 34:22Speaker 1: the question, how does it feel when you know when
- 34:25Speaker 1: people attack you, and they tried their naysayers over our work.
- 34:29Speaker 1: If it was just Brianna Taylor, maybe they can make
- 34:33Speaker 1: the case that well, you're just trying to get on TV,
- 34:35Speaker 1: you know, get to get a new storyline. But you
- 34:38Speaker 1: went right out of that into the election for one
- 34:41Speaker 1: knocking ass off. So you have continued to show over
- 34:45Speaker 1: and over again that you get the connection between protests politics,
- 34:52Speaker 1: and of course now we have to fight to get
- 34:55Speaker 1: policy done. That's something we're gonna be talking about on
- 34:58Speaker 1: Street Politicians a lot. The three p's going from the streets,
- 35:02Speaker 1: getting in those ballots and the polls going to you know,
- 35:06Speaker 1: make sure that we cast our ballots, and then of
- 35:08Speaker 1: course continuing to fight to ensure that policy is actually
- 35:12Speaker 1: enacted that helps our communities. What was it like being
- 35:16Speaker 1: in Atlanta helping to being in Georgia in general, helping
- 35:21Speaker 1: to get two people elected to the Senate? Like, just
- 35:25Speaker 1: how did you feel when it actually happened and you
- 35:28Speaker 1: knew that you had such a major role doing lives
- 35:32Speaker 1: with O Saw standing with Reverend Warnock. Um, you know
- 35:35Speaker 1: all the videos that you put together, you were actually
- 35:38Speaker 1: like out there on the ground. Yes, absolutely, Um, you
- 35:42Speaker 1: know for me when when we as the numbers were
- 35:44Speaker 1: coming in, I got you know, I was stressed, you know, like,
- 35:47Speaker 1: oh my god, you know, and but then I said,
- 35:49Speaker 1: you know what, I gotta let go. Let God, you
- 35:51Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And I went on the bed
- 35:53Speaker 1: and I woke up and I saw that we had won.
- 35:55Speaker 1: And I knew that that that faith that I had,
- 35:57Speaker 1: that hope in people period. And so for me, you know,
- 36:01Speaker 1: when you when people stay activists, they like to put
- 36:04Speaker 1: people in a box, and um, I don't. I don't
- 36:06Speaker 1: mind being put in that box whatsoever. But I have
- 36:08Speaker 1: a love for people generally, I want all of us
- 36:11Speaker 1: to have a better quality of life. And for me
- 36:14Speaker 1: being in the in this position, I always try to
- 36:17Speaker 1: think about how I could be most effective. So I
- 36:20Speaker 1: felt like I was effective in helping Brianna Taylor or
- 36:24Speaker 1: even bringing attention to it by saying her name on
- 36:26Speaker 1: my platform. Then I thought about, all right, well what's
- 36:29Speaker 1: the next step. You know, you gotta deal with politics,
- 36:32Speaker 1: you gotta deal with these policies. So even before that,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you know, we had to fight to get the d
- 36:36Speaker 1: A here in at last, so involved in that going
- 36:40Speaker 1: to different um for um. But when it came to warnicking. Also,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I realized that there was such a gray area there
- 36:49Speaker 1: that people did not even really know much about these
- 36:52Speaker 1: two men. I said, oh wow, okay, well here's where
- 36:55Speaker 1: I can be most effective running out. Listen, they paid
- 37:01Speaker 1: me to do it, and listen, I'll do it for
- 37:03Speaker 1: free as well if they can help us. And so
- 37:06Speaker 1: I decided to put together at p s A and
- 37:08Speaker 1: I really Samika actually was supposed to be a part
- 37:11Speaker 1: of it, but her flight came in and then we
- 37:13Speaker 1: had we I got asked at the last minute to
- 37:15Speaker 1: do a rally of Therey, so we weren't able to
- 37:19Speaker 1: have Tamica in this one, but we did it for
- 37:22Speaker 1: UM the presidential raise, and then I did another one
- 37:25Speaker 1: for the in it and it was just so great
- 37:29Speaker 1: to be able to look at all their policies when
- 37:32Speaker 1: it came to healthcare, when it came to the gun laws,
- 37:35Speaker 1: when it came to all of these different things that
- 37:37Speaker 1: directly affect African Americans that we complain about. Why are
- 37:41Speaker 1: we dying? Why is this? Why is that? Why don't
- 37:42Speaker 1: I have health care? Why are all these black mothers
- 37:45Speaker 1: being you know, dying in the hospital and they're not
- 37:48Speaker 1: being careful properly. Well, there's a reason for that, you know,
- 37:51Speaker 1: and that is because we need to have doctors who
- 37:55Speaker 1: are educating, who have social skills to deal with African
- 37:58Speaker 1: American women. Um, we need to pimport the issue. We
- 38:01Speaker 1: need to have someone like a John Also whose wife
- 38:04Speaker 1: is an OBG Bright and who can help show Hampy,
- 38:07Speaker 1: these are the issues that are happening. Listen, let me
- 38:10Speaker 1: tell you that you're doing. You do the word. Listen
- 38:13Speaker 1: to me. You are a historian, you know all stuff
- 38:17Speaker 1: like I'm sitting here you like mar Luther King the
- 38:20Speaker 1: clergy said, I'm like most people don't even know none
- 38:23Speaker 1: of this stuff. Man, you are proving yourself to be
- 38:26Speaker 1: so authentic and needed in this work. And your energy,
- 38:29Speaker 1: like I can tell you, I can vouch that this
- 38:31Speaker 1: is porscheous energy all day. She has an energy that
- 38:35Speaker 1: lights up a room, don't matter what. We was getting
- 38:38Speaker 1: arrested and she was standing next to me smiling like
- 38:41Speaker 1: like she knew, whatever it is, this is God's plan.
- 38:44Speaker 1: She put like she said, let go and let God.
- 38:46Speaker 1: She kept us all she kept with smiling. We was
- 38:49Speaker 1: inside the priests and locked up, chained together, and she
- 38:52Speaker 1: started a chance like this woman right here. Is she
- 38:56Speaker 1: is really serious about this moment. That's right, Spiritual war Fair.
- 39:00Speaker 1: We have flesh that we are having to deal with
- 39:02Speaker 1: when we get weak and we are in these positions
- 39:05Speaker 1: to do these dangerous things or even put our jobs
- 39:08Speaker 1: on the line of careers. So wait, wait, wait, wait
- 39:10Speaker 1: before you finish this, because I want you to end
- 39:12Speaker 1: this with this, because this is exactly what I want
- 39:13Speaker 1: to know. I want you to give advice to those
- 39:18Speaker 1: that don't know what to do, because because she will
- 39:26Speaker 1: definitely prey. I want you to end this by giving
- 39:28Speaker 1: advice tell us. Tell people who might feel helpless, who
- 39:31Speaker 1: don't see what's going to happen, and don't know what's
- 39:34Speaker 1: gonna be the next move. We're looking at what's going
- 39:37Speaker 1: on with the capital, all these things. I want you
- 39:39Speaker 1: to give advice to those people who might feel helpless
- 39:41Speaker 1: and don't know what to do. And then well, first
- 39:44Speaker 1: I want to say that you take one step. God
- 39:46Speaker 1: is going to lead you the whole way. He there anyway,
- 39:48Speaker 1: he got his hand on us. He already knew that
- 39:51Speaker 1: this was our destiny, that I'd be sitting here talking
- 39:53Speaker 1: to you all, that you all would have been doing
- 39:56Speaker 1: what you're doing in the community and in politics. Um,
- 39:59Speaker 1: all of this is predestined. It was all. Every single
- 40:02Speaker 1: gift that I have, every single gift that anyone watching
- 40:05Speaker 1: the show has, It's already in you. You just need
- 40:07Speaker 1: to access it activated and be a part of what's happening. Okay,
- 40:12Speaker 1: because everything is laid out, there is a plan for
- 40:14Speaker 1: all of our lives. There's no way that Biden and
- 40:17Speaker 1: Kamala was gonna be president. Vice President John Alsoft was
- 40:21Speaker 1: gonna win. God already knew that the devil and these
- 40:23Speaker 1: white supremes are gonna act the fool over there at
- 40:25Speaker 1: the Capitol, right and all of us stayed at home.
- 40:27Speaker 1: We say we did because we did we were supposed
- 40:29Speaker 1: to do. When out we voted, and the devil is mad.
- 40:32Speaker 1: It is what it is, the warfare. Okay, there's no
- 40:36Speaker 1: time in this life that you're gonna have change of
- 40:39Speaker 1: this magnitude and not have some pain involved, confusion involved, etcetera.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But all we have to do is Christians is to
- 40:46Speaker 1: be focused. That's it. Be focused. We are not of confusion.
- 40:50Speaker 1: We have a very direct plan of what we are doing.
- 40:54Speaker 1: We have educated ourselves what happened with Osoft, and we're
- 40:57Speaker 1: not it's not by mistake. That is from educating people
- 41:00Speaker 1: who had sat at home and they had had enough
- 41:03Speaker 1: and they had prayed, and they got out and they
- 41:05Speaker 1: activated what was in them to make a better future
- 41:08Speaker 1: for their children. So, whoever you are, whatever your gift is,
- 41:12Speaker 1: whether it is you, I don't know. Maybe you may
- 41:14Speaker 1: be a word smith and you can write a great
- 41:17Speaker 1: letter and do something online to do that. Whether you can.
- 41:20Speaker 1: If you're in a church and you're in a pool page,
- 41:22Speaker 1: you need to speak about poor politics in the bullpage.
- 41:24Speaker 1: That's where that's where I used to come from back
- 41:26Speaker 1: in the day with black people. So for me, if
- 41:29Speaker 1: anybody out there, whatever gift you have, you need to
- 41:32Speaker 1: use it for the movement we need. We need a
- 41:34Speaker 1: whole show. Past the portion. We we got past the
- 41:37Speaker 1: portions with past portion. We know what we want to say.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Thank you, We love you. Continue to be great, continue
- 41:48Speaker 1: to have that energy, continue to feel empowered because God
- 41:52Speaker 1: got us. Like you said, God got his hand and everything.
- 41:54Speaker 1: And keep letting them use you. We appreciate you, use you.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And listen, my son said that in the all day
- 42:00Speaker 1: on you got the same energy, and that's true. But
- 42:02Speaker 1: at night we twork because that's what we like. I
- 42:10Speaker 1: love with us, all right, I love you guys. Before
- 42:17Speaker 1: we go to the next segment and have our special
- 42:19Speaker 1: guests joint, we're gonna take a quick break for our sponsors.
- 42:27Speaker 1: That's my girl though. Porscha has you know, really turned
- 42:31Speaker 1: out to be a good friend, especially to Yandy and me,
- 42:35Speaker 1: and we just we vibe and I listen. I don't.
- 42:37Speaker 1: I don't really watch the show. It's been a while
- 42:40Speaker 1: since I was really into the shows. I don't really
- 42:42Speaker 1: watch Love and Hip Hop and Yandy's on it, you know,
- 42:44Speaker 1: that's one of my best friends, my sister. I don't
- 42:47Speaker 1: really watch the house wise because we move around so much,
- 42:51Speaker 1: I can never keep up with the schedule. So it's
- 42:53Speaker 1: one of those things where I have to catch it
- 42:54Speaker 1: on us on Sunday when I'm just binging. But in
- 42:57Speaker 1: terms of the relationship that we had have I have seen,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I have learned and felt nothing but authenticity from Porsche,
- 43:06Speaker 1: from Yandy in terms of the movement and their sisterhood
- 43:09Speaker 1: to me and also um, you know, they're just cool.
- 43:13Speaker 1: We just have a good time loving up on one
- 43:15Speaker 1: of them. Speaking speaking the sisterhood, I I felt brotherhood
- 43:18Speaker 1: from the brother that were. I just want to introduce
- 43:22Speaker 1: none other my brother Traded Truth, Traded Truth. He's also
- 43:27Speaker 1: my Mason Police. I have to call him when you
- 43:30Speaker 1: get on my nerves. And how many people that can
- 43:32Speaker 1: call me? Bro Bro Bro Bro. I need you, I
- 43:35Speaker 1: need you to calm down right now. But Trade is
- 43:37Speaker 1: good to see you, brother. We love you so. Yes, sir,
- 43:40Speaker 1: so I don't even feel upposed to be on this show.
- 43:42Speaker 1: We're family, but hey, yeah, that's what the thing is.
- 43:46Speaker 1: This is the opportunity just to give flowers. Like you know,
- 43:48Speaker 1: you said you don't believe you need to be here.
- 43:50Speaker 1: We have our platform and we just want to make
- 43:52Speaker 1: sure that we give your flowers and say, man that
- 43:55Speaker 1: you are a phenomenal human being and a brother and
- 43:59Speaker 1: we we truly appreciate you. Man, appreciate it. But back
- 44:03Speaker 1: at you, because you know the thing is, man, we
- 44:05Speaker 1: all feed off each other. So just as well as
- 44:08Speaker 1: times I may want to spass, give up for the
- 44:11Speaker 1: public to know y'all do the same thing with me.
- 44:14Speaker 1: And for the record, I tell everybody on the loan
- 44:16Speaker 1: with I'll steps until you know they know what you
- 44:21Speaker 1: think of them, you're gonna think of me. But we
- 44:23Speaker 1: just feed off each other man, and that's how that's
- 44:25Speaker 1: how we've be learned that we built. Before knowing you
- 44:28Speaker 1: as a family member, I knew your work and I
- 44:31Speaker 1: used to admire on social media those galoshes and and
- 44:36Speaker 1: just your efforts really being like because some of us
- 44:40Speaker 1: say were on the front line, but it's a different
- 44:42Speaker 1: type of front line when you're out there in the
- 44:44Speaker 1: water with the snakes moving around and the alligators. Like
- 44:47Speaker 1: I've seen you out there with some crazy things literally
- 44:51Speaker 1: moving cars physically with other men, uh and women who
- 44:55Speaker 1: are out there with you. What made you start the
- 44:58Speaker 1: relief gang? How long has it been in existence? And
- 45:01Speaker 1: what's the what's the goal of your organization? Um? So
- 45:06Speaker 1: the actual organization is Angeled by Nature, which is another
- 45:12Speaker 1: meaning for a being, because you know, the real mean
- 45:14Speaker 1: a being is on the street side. So everybody wanted
- 45:17Speaker 1: to be part of So I had to find a
- 45:19Speaker 1: chapter and that that people could be m part of us.
- 45:21Speaker 1: So I started the nonprofit angel by Nature. Relief game
- 45:26Speaker 1: really started heavily during Harvey. But the crazy thing about yeah,
- 45:33Speaker 1: Hurricane Harvey. So everybody who in Texas already knew me,
- 45:37Speaker 1: knew me for doing this work. Period. It's just what
- 45:39Speaker 1: happened is during Harvey. You know, social media is the
- 45:44Speaker 1: easiest way to spread the word across the world. So
- 45:48Speaker 1: it was just a different type of magnifying glass because
- 45:51Speaker 1: I've been doing this. If you look back at Hurricane
- 45:53Speaker 1: Ikes and and the hurricanes have been eight to ten
- 45:57Speaker 1: years ago, you'll see pictures of me still out there
- 46:00Speaker 1: on the exact same thing. I think. Now it's just
- 46:02Speaker 1: the way that the world can see it up close
- 46:05Speaker 1: and feel like more personal with it. So during Harvey
- 46:08Speaker 1: is when it really started just explode this dope man
- 46:12Speaker 1: watching you work, you know, being a hip hop artist
- 46:15Speaker 1: myself and making a transition. And the first question a
- 46:18Speaker 1: lot of people asked me like what what made you
- 46:20Speaker 1: transition from hip hop to doing this this kind of work?
- 46:24Speaker 1: Like what what was the moment? What was the thought
- 46:26Speaker 1: process that made you just transition. I don't think I
- 46:30Speaker 1: fully transitioned it, but I argue people all the time.
- 46:34Speaker 1: The they'd be like, this is your call, and I
- 46:36Speaker 1: get pissed because it's like, hey, don't because we still
- 46:38Speaker 1: wrap our ass off. Yeah, we still we got a
- 46:41Speaker 1: whole project. Like me and Trade got a whole project
- 46:44Speaker 1: that's about the drop that we did literally in two
- 46:47Speaker 1: days and we was wrapping, listened to me, we said, look,
- 46:54Speaker 1: we need to do a project. Were all here on
- 46:55Speaker 1: this front of we need to report some of the
- 46:57Speaker 1: stuff the motions were dealing with literally coming from marching
- 47:00Speaker 1: from Brianna Tailer on the front line, in the community,
- 47:05Speaker 1: in the square, with the people to write to the studio.
- 47:07Speaker 1: The album is it's historical for a number of reasons. One,
- 47:11Speaker 1: we're living in Kentucky in the midst of what we're
- 47:13Speaker 1: going through and we did that album right on that turf,
- 47:17Speaker 1: on that land, in that atmosphere everything that we was
- 47:20Speaker 1: going through. And then like another thing, I gotta commend,
- 47:23Speaker 1: So I gotta commend our sisters, you know, me and
- 47:25Speaker 1: my song we meant. But even with Tamika and Linda,
- 47:29Speaker 1: just the fact that they be willing to to jump
- 47:32Speaker 1: on the front line and much they do, it's just like,
- 47:35Speaker 1: you know, as a brother, I'd just be proud man,
- 47:38Speaker 1: because they're prepared to go to war at any time,
- 47:40Speaker 1: just like us. You know. Definitely, that's what makes that's
- 47:44Speaker 1: what makes us as a whole. Uh. Even with Angelo
- 47:48Speaker 1: and every time I'll be honest with you, I'll be
- 47:49Speaker 1: wanting to kick my son, and I don't even because
- 47:52Speaker 1: because I'll be like, look, bro, we gotta go to Jim,
- 47:56Speaker 1: but I'm not gonna leave him. So it's like if
- 47:59Speaker 1: he go, we are. Yeah. It is what it is.
- 48:02Speaker 1: It's it's all part of sacrificing for what you believe
- 48:05Speaker 1: in and love. How can people support support YEA will
- 48:09Speaker 1: support a bien? UM? Well, I always tell them they
- 48:13Speaker 1: can always go to angel by nature dot com. It's
- 48:16Speaker 1: a um that's the website for the nonprofit, and they can,
- 48:20Speaker 1: don't they tell Sometimes I'll just be doing stuff on
- 48:23Speaker 1: the fleeing, so I may post my cash shop my
- 48:27Speaker 1: cash apport. I am trade a BN, I am a
- 48:32Speaker 1: M dollars sign I A M t R A A
- 48:35Speaker 1: b N. Yeah, and you can go to angels say
- 48:38Speaker 1: it again, Angels by Nature dot com. That's right to
- 48:43Speaker 1: support Angels dot com or I am trade a bien
- 48:47Speaker 1: on cash app send a brother five dollars, ten dollars,
- 48:50Speaker 1: five hundred dollars, five thousand dollars five to the dollars
- 48:54Speaker 1: to get it direct. Definitely gonna go to Mama sus
- 48:57Speaker 1: We love you. Trade the album drops soon. When we
- 49:00Speaker 1: said we were so if you're scared, stay inside me
- 49:03Speaker 1: and my son it. It's definitely fourteen tracks. Y'all love
- 49:07Speaker 1: it of course to me going there and others. You're
- 49:10Speaker 1: gonna do what I'll do. Man, love you man. So
- 49:16Speaker 1: that's our brother, Trey Lin. When when you when you
- 49:20Speaker 1: look at how authentic this this brother is and then
- 49:23Speaker 1: we talk about portion like it's so many ways we
- 49:28Speaker 1: could and it's our brother. And that's what I think
- 49:30Speaker 1: we started the show for. I think that's why we
- 49:32Speaker 1: started Until Freedom is because we understood that there's a
- 49:36Speaker 1: way that we have to connect with our people and
- 49:38Speaker 1: give space to like we know for sure that trade
- 49:43Speaker 1: is doing work that most people. I'm telling you right now,
- 49:47Speaker 1: I'm not going to the water, but I'm not going
- 49:49Speaker 1: in the water with snakes. I'm not getting ready to
- 49:52Speaker 1: be helping move cars off for folks. I can't do it.
- 49:55Speaker 1: That's just not what I do. And there's people that
- 49:57Speaker 1: will say, I'm not gonna get arrested um and go
- 50:00Speaker 1: inside of dirty jail that's COVID infected. I'm not. You know,
- 50:04Speaker 1: people just ain't gonna do certain things. But then there
- 50:07Speaker 1: are some of us who have been called to do
- 50:08Speaker 1: it and trades. One of those people who have been
- 50:10Speaker 1: called to do what he does and thank God for
- 50:12Speaker 1: him and he's got the most. We didn't get a
- 50:14Speaker 1: chance to talk about everything, like you said, daughter, beautiful.
- 50:19Speaker 1: He's such an amazing dad, definitely and just an amazing
- 50:23Speaker 1: He's my big teddy bear. I always say that, but
- 50:25Speaker 1: you know, you know he don't. He doesn't like when
- 50:28Speaker 1: we say that. He don't like the Sultan. But that's
- 50:35Speaker 1: sweet because he's still You don't want to hear it
- 50:38Speaker 1: on the show to the world, like if you send
- 50:40Speaker 1: it to him, he's anyway that brings me to I
- 50:45Speaker 1: don't get you know, you don't get no. I don't
- 50:49Speaker 1: get that. That could be a whole thing because that
- 50:51Speaker 1: ready don't get what you come on TV and quote
- 50:54Speaker 1: that man, tough man. You don't want you don't want
- 50:57Speaker 1: to mean no, man, what is wrong with dame that
- 51:03Speaker 1: to be to be acknowledged for being sensitive and loving
- 51:07Speaker 1: and caring. You're still a big dude, You're still a man. Man. Yeah,
- 51:14Speaker 1: we just didn't want it to be to them. It's
- 51:17Speaker 1: cool for you to call soft and all that. You
- 51:20Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, soft, teddy bear, sensitive and whatever.
- 51:24Speaker 1: The stuff you call, you can say that your man
- 51:26Speaker 1: off the camera to yourself in the room. Women's cool,
- 51:29Speaker 1: just don't say it on camera anyway. Well, I don't
- 51:31Speaker 1: get right. Is when you can see people like people
- 51:37Speaker 1: like even us, you know, people like Trade, and say
- 51:41Speaker 1: that when you do this type of work, this frontline work,
- 51:44Speaker 1: this community work that is in any way cloud chasing,
- 51:49Speaker 1: like in any way that you're doing it for anything
- 51:53Speaker 1: other than actually helping people. When you're actually helping people
- 51:56Speaker 1: like you see the results when you look and you
- 51:59Speaker 1: see the work that we doing on the front lines,
- 52:01Speaker 1: and you see the amount of resources we've you know,
- 52:04Speaker 1: we've given to people, the amount of attention that we
- 52:07Speaker 1: bring to certain cases, you know, the amount of time
- 52:10Speaker 1: that we take away from our families, the things that
- 52:13Speaker 1: we sacrifice. When you look and you see brothers like Trade,
- 52:16Speaker 1: and then you go to social media and people are
- 52:18Speaker 1: all you cloud chasing when you see Posha willing to
- 52:21Speaker 1: sacrifice her freedom and not know what's gonna happen when
- 52:25Speaker 1: you get in that jail cell and I know if
- 52:27Speaker 1: she's gonna make it outside of the police car. Because
- 52:30Speaker 1: a lot of people don't even make Freddy Gray didn't
- 52:32Speaker 1: even make it outside the police. So when you when
- 52:35Speaker 1: you make a conscious decision that you're willing to make
- 52:38Speaker 1: sacrifices that you know that most people wouldn't and people
- 52:43Speaker 1: have the nerve, the unmitigated goal to call it cloud
- 52:47Speaker 1: chasing or to say that you're doing something so people
- 52:50Speaker 1: could Yeah, I want people to pay attention. We're definitely
- 52:52Speaker 1: doing it so people can pay attention. But the cloud
- 52:55Speaker 1: chasing ship to me is just like it's it's insult.
- 52:57Speaker 1: It's an insult to you. It ain't to me, because
- 53:00Speaker 1: what happens is for you to think that I'm cloud chasing.
- 53:04Speaker 1: You don't even know what cloud chasing is. You don't
- 53:07Speaker 1: even know what this work entails. You don't even know
- 53:10Speaker 1: what brother. You know, our forefathers, like mom is the King,
- 53:14Speaker 1: what they they decided that they were going to civilly disobedient,
- 53:19Speaker 1: be civilly disobedient, and when they made those decisions and
- 53:22Speaker 1: what it was called for. So when we moved in
- 53:25Speaker 1: the tradition of our ancestors, when we move in the
- 53:29Speaker 1: rhythm of our hearts to actually do something that is
- 53:32Speaker 1: authentic that we feel like it's going to help people,
- 53:35Speaker 1: and you call a cloud chasing is just disdispectful. Man,
- 53:38Speaker 1: it's so disrespectful to me. And it's confused. It is
- 53:42Speaker 1: because what is it? I think that's smart if that's
- 53:45Speaker 1: what you say, cloud chaser, but it just bring on
- 53:48Speaker 1: the cloud and you know it, because you know what,
- 53:51Speaker 1: we're trying to fight ignorance and argue about everything that
- 53:56Speaker 1: people say. Whatever, call me a cloud chaser? It's what?
- 54:00Speaker 1: What am I? What's my things? I'm a cloud chaser?
- 54:03Speaker 1: I'm paid for about the Democrats? Um? What else I
- 54:07Speaker 1: think that I'm I'm I think I'm in fashion? Um
- 54:11Speaker 1: uh what is it? I want attention? I mean there's
- 54:15Speaker 1: so much thing, so you know what, how about this?
- 54:18Speaker 1: Take it all? Yes, that's who I am now and
- 54:21Speaker 1: now well you get out there in front of me,
- 54:24Speaker 1: because because guess what if I'm all of these things,
- 54:27Speaker 1: but yet and still in the spaces that require somebody
- 54:31Speaker 1: to stand up and speak out, I'm standing in you
- 54:33Speaker 1: are not? What are you? I don't know that's a word.
- 54:38Speaker 1: So if I'm a cloud chaser and we know we
- 54:44Speaker 1: had one, you don't understand, and that's you know what
- 54:48Speaker 1: we can actually hear when we were saying like we
- 54:53Speaker 1: was in the other side. So in the Louisville Jail.
- 54:56Speaker 1: It sales is right next to each other, so events
- 54:58Speaker 1: you can actually literally here what's going on in the
- 55:01Speaker 1: next cell. And we heard Johnny singing and clapping, and
- 55:04Speaker 1: we was in there dance into yourself. We heard y'all
- 55:06Speaker 1: sing it to you know what you guys got me
- 55:09Speaker 1: through specifically, you know, I have cause to phobia, um,
- 55:13Speaker 1: and every time I get in the police van, it's
- 55:16Speaker 1: a real tough situation. And I'm not gonna lie because
- 55:19Speaker 1: we don't hate law enforcement and we need to be honest.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Whenever I say to an officer, especially, they know when
- 55:26Speaker 1: they're arresting us most times that we haven't committed any
- 55:29Speaker 1: heinous crime or you know, it's not like there is
- 55:32Speaker 1: this level of of of tension between us at that moment.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Most of the time, the officers that may have been
- 55:39Speaker 1: there as the first responders, who are definitely much more volatile,
- 55:44Speaker 1: they're usually replaced with officers who will arrest us with
- 55:48Speaker 1: a little bit more compassion. They try to deal with
- 55:50Speaker 1: us a little differently, and so when I say to
- 55:53Speaker 1: them I'm couse to phobic, they they almost always will
- 55:57Speaker 1: allow me to at least get in a spot whick
- 55:58Speaker 1: could get some air. Almost always do that. And I
- 56:01Speaker 1: have to say it because I wouldn't be being honest
- 56:03Speaker 1: if I did not acknowledge that that does happen. Nonetheless,
- 56:07Speaker 1: I have no business being in the back of a van.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Anybody having to fight from Brianna Taylor with clausophobia is
- 56:12Speaker 1: just something that we should never have to sacrifice. Um.
- 56:15Speaker 1: But when we were in this last van, the Loville, Kentucky,
- 56:19Speaker 1: is a whole different ball game. Being in this last
- 56:24Speaker 1: van with the the the divider between. I've been in
- 56:28Speaker 1: those before, but this is much smaller. New York's van
- 56:32Speaker 1: that has the divider, it has a little more space,
- 56:36Speaker 1: and this van, the wall is on your knees period.
- 56:41Speaker 1: There is nowhere to move. The wall is on your knee.
- 56:44Speaker 1: The wall is on your knees in between, and there
- 56:48Speaker 1: are people on one side and people on the other
- 56:50Speaker 1: and they stack everyone in and they closed not one door,
- 56:55Speaker 1: but two. They closed the first door and then they
- 56:59Speaker 1: closed the outsort outside gates, which is like van door.
- 57:03Speaker 1: So there's two layers to how they have you box
- 57:06Speaker 1: in to this vehicle. It is hot in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 57:10Speaker 1: When we were arrested, it was probably a hundred and
- 57:14Speaker 1: fifty degrees. I don't know how y'all made it on
- 57:17Speaker 1: y'all side, because men, big men, you listen to me,
- 57:21Speaker 1: we barely made it. No, finish your story, because that's
- 57:25Speaker 1: how we made it. No. So then Reverend Stephen Green
- 57:29Speaker 1: and others who are pastors. It's Reverend Stephen Green is
- 57:33Speaker 1: is a pastor um. And there were others in there
- 57:35Speaker 1: who know the good songs, the good old go down,
- 57:39Speaker 1: tell Moses, let my people go songs. Y'all started singing,
- 57:43Speaker 1: and Porsha and Yandy think they can sing too, and
- 57:46Speaker 1: so the whole van erupted in song um you know,
- 57:51Speaker 1: and and in in spiritual songs. I was about to
- 57:56Speaker 1: fall out, like I was on. I was in the moment.
- 57:58Speaker 1: And Angelo talks about that to our partnered until Freedom
- 58:02Speaker 1: Attorney Angelo pinto that he was on. He was in
- 58:05Speaker 1: the moment when the sweat began to pour, the tears
- 58:08Speaker 1: started rolling. He was we were about to have a
- 58:11Speaker 1: panic attack and fall out. And that music, that music,
- 58:17Speaker 1: those songs, those words that our grandparents and I will
- 58:21Speaker 1: ancest the song and when they were in the worst
- 58:25Speaker 1: of conditions, when they were in the field and they
- 58:28Speaker 1: knew that today masses in a bad mood, that he
- 58:31Speaker 1: might come and kill us. I believe that those songs
- 58:34Speaker 1: might have helped to keep masters sometime from harming people.
- 58:40Speaker 1: It literally came over me and my spirit change and
- 58:44Speaker 1: I began. I began to cry. Oh, I could cry
- 58:47Speaker 1: right now. I began to cry, saying, Lord, I know
- 58:54Speaker 1: I'm supposed to be where I am, Lord, please carry
- 58:59Speaker 1: me like I know you got me. And I was.
- 59:02Speaker 1: I was. I was preaching to myself in that moment
- 59:05Speaker 1: because I didn't know and I and the worst thing
- 59:07Speaker 1: I did was I looked at the side and I
- 59:09Speaker 1: saw that in the front of the van there's a
- 59:13Speaker 1: barrier and there's two seats inside of a little hole,
- 59:16Speaker 1: and there were two women in there, and I could
- 59:18Speaker 1: see the young lady in their crying, and I was like,
- 59:21Speaker 1: we're not gonna make it. By the time we got
- 59:23Speaker 1: to the next location, I was completely drenched with tears
- 59:28Speaker 1: and sweat, But my heart was so full that we
- 59:31Speaker 1: found a way, like our people have been doing for
- 59:34Speaker 1: so many years, to get through the worst experience of
- 59:38Speaker 1: my life. And on that note, I think we should
- 59:41Speaker 1: go into end this show. Man. You you close that
- 59:43Speaker 1: out beautifully man, those moments right there or would defined you.
- 59:49Speaker 1: All of those people who are fighting, and people don't
- 59:53Speaker 1: believe what you fight for, people who questioned the authenticity.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Despite all of that, you continue to move on, continue
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: to do what you're supposed to do. So my motto is,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: we don't have the right to do nothing. So we
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: may not always be right, Jamika, might not always be wrong,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: but I promise you we will always be authentic. That's
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: how we own it. M
