• 5:40
Speaker 2: had to stop playing until the cops showed up. Wow, yeah,
• 5:45
  Speaker 2: I never I was. I wasn't in that golf course.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, Let's see here. I seen this on olive

Speaker 1: I brought my wife to a family party. She's seen
• 6:48
Speaker 1: my Nina pull down her pants and pee in the
• 6:50
Speaker 1: parking lot. That same Nina also rolled down my hill
• 6:54

Speaker 1: like you, Yeah, and your wife still stayed with you

• 7:33
Speaker 1: are you doing you you're not a good one.
• 7:34
Speaker 9: I go, oh, man, I want what she had.
• 7:40
Speaker 2: Wow, that's crazy. Yeah, that's crazy.
• 7:43
  Speaker 7: Bro.
• 7:43
Speaker 2: I'm glad you're not on meth anymore.
• 7:45
Speaker 5: Oh not for god, thank god.
• 7:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, going on, Hey, what's going on?
• 7:52
Speaker 3: I was working over there on the ninety second month.
• 7:54
  Speaker 7: I was.
• 7:56
Speaker 6: And there was this old almost laving down with what
• 8:00
Speaker 6: was going around and that?
• 8:02
Speaker 4: Right, okay, so find me this older guy that worked
• 8:06
  Speaker 4: with me.
• 8:06
Speaker 6: He un having a figures that day.
• 8:09
  Speaker 4: Yeah, and and.
• 8:14
Speaker 2: What oh we lost him. I think his phone cut out.
• 8:17
Speaker 2: Oh we lost him. We can't hit the end of
• 8:18
Speaker 2: that story. Oh what's going on?
• 8:21
Speaker 5: So I work in an oil field?
• 8:22
Speaker 6: Okay, So we're here in the middle of nowhere.
• 8:25
Speaker 7: Right, this lady pulls up in a little station wagon.
• 8:30
Speaker 3: It was like, this is my.
• 8:32
Speaker 7: What are you guys doing here?
• 8:33
Speaker 3: You gotta sticks chasing us around?
• 8:36
Speaker 5: Alarious where you on her property?
• 8:43
Speaker 7: We're in the oil field.
• 8:50
Speaker 1: Dickie's here, Molla on a fitness We work out with
• 8:52
Speaker 1: Dickey four days a week over at his cross uh
• 8:56
Speaker 1: Cross Training Facility over off of fruitgvill Avenue. Good morning, Dickie, Hey,
• 9:00
Speaker 1: good morning. Now let's talk a little bit about it.
• 9:03
Speaker 1: What the gym is. At first, it is a class setting.
• 9:05
Speaker 1: It is a fifty minute class.
• 9:06
Speaker 13: Yeah, it's group training.
• 9:08
Speaker 11: It's Monday for Thursdays, so four days a week, sessions
• 9:10
Speaker 11: of fifty minutes each. We limit every class of twenty
• 9:14
Speaker 11: people up per class. And it's a a combination of
• 9:18
Speaker 11: strength and conditioning. You know, we focus on you know
• 9:20
Speaker 11: obviously to your strength, your cardio and also your mobility,
• 9:25
Speaker 11: balancing things like that is all functional fitness to a
• 9:28
  Speaker 11: higher level.
• 9:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, really, and it really is good even if you're
• 9:31
Speaker 1: not some sort of athlete. You just you got kids,
• 9:34
Speaker 1: you want to carry groceries, you want to work around
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: the house.
• 9:36
Speaker 13: That it's an athlete to a certain degree. We just
• 9:39
Speaker 13: got to find that degree.
• 9:40
  Speaker 9: Well.
• 9:41
Speaker 1: One of the things, but one of the problems is
• 9:42
Speaker 1: when you have this conversation, the first thing everybody thinks
• 9:45
Speaker 1: is CrossFit or they think, and that's not that's more.
• 9:48
Speaker 1: You got to be kind of a gymnastic type kind
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: of an.
• 9:52
Speaker 2: Athlete to do that type of workout.
• 9:55
Speaker 1: Your workout for cross training is much more of an
• 9:59
Speaker 1: everyday person just trying to be stronger, trying to be
• 10:03
Speaker 1: more balanced, trying to be fitter, you know, trying to
• 10:05
Speaker 1: feel better, lose weight.
• 10:07
Speaker 2: And build some muscle.
• 10:09
Speaker 1: And the way that happens is you're not I want
• 10:13
Speaker 1: to talk about the fact that they always say, you know,
• 10:15
Speaker 1: as you get a little older, or just your body
• 10:17
Speaker 1: needs to lift weights, your body needs to move, your
• 10:19
Speaker 1: body needs to do things like that. And your class
• 10:23
Speaker 1: is so has so many different types of people in
• 10:26
Speaker 1: it at different ages, different levels, and you can do
• 10:29
Speaker 1: that with a group.
• 10:32
  Speaker 13: Yes.
• 10:32
Speaker 11: The nice thing about our group training on our system
• 10:35
Speaker 11: is that you can have a sixteen year old and
• 10:38
Speaker 11: a seventy year old working out nice to each other.
• 10:40
Speaker 2: They could actually be partners, which has happened before.
• 10:43
Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, two different variations intensity level, some high intensity,
• 10:48
Speaker 11: some low impact. You know, you could have come out
• 10:52
Speaker 11: of surgery for something, postpartum or whatever the case may be.
• 10:57
Speaker 11: There's a way to modify and scale a lot the
• 11:00
Speaker 11: way we do our program, so it's not something you
• 11:04
Speaker 11: will get lost in the crowd kind of like you
• 11:06
Speaker 11: know sometimes in the Big Bucks gym, I used to
• 11:08
Speaker 11: teach a group X you go in the back because
• 11:11
Speaker 11: you don't know what's going on.
• 11:12
Speaker 13: You're going left, everybody's going right.
• 11:14
Speaker 11: Yeah, and that doesn't really happen here because it's very
• 11:17
Speaker 11: structured and it's very simple to follow.
• 11:19
Speaker 1: That is also one of the things you need to understand.
• 11:21
Speaker 1: It's very structured, so you know exactly what you're doing
• 11:24
Speaker 1: when you get there. You have all your equipment when
• 11:27
Speaker 1: you get there. One of the things that is a
• 11:29
Speaker 1: great about it is the person next to you might
• 11:33
Speaker 1: be a little bit more, might be stronger than you,
• 11:35
Speaker 1: So they might be doing curls with thirty fives. You
• 11:38
Speaker 1: might be new to the class, still learning, or you
• 11:40
Speaker 1: might not, you know, still working on and you might
• 11:42
Speaker 1: be using twenties and you guys are getting the same workout.
• 11:46
Speaker 2: You're earning the same workout.
• 11:47
Speaker 13: Yeah, same same goal.
• 11:48
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 11:49
  Speaker 11: Obviously everybody has a different goal, but it's it's it's
• 11:52
Speaker 11: build up to that. Whether you're trying to you know,
• 11:55
Speaker 11: pack on a lot of muscle or just tone up.
• 11:57
Speaker 11: You know, it's very different, and but you can achieve
• 12:00
Speaker 11: with the same program that we do and the scalability.
• 12:03
Speaker 1: Well, you're on a fitness dickie. They got to call
• 12:05
Speaker 1: you how they get hold.
• 12:06
Speaker 11: Of you, text me six six one four four four
• 12:09
Speaker 11: three six three five and find out more about getting
• 12:11
Speaker 11: a week free trial. Noose things attached, just come out
• 12:15
Speaker 11: in for you and then we can go from there.
• 12:17
Speaker 1: All right, So we got Dickie here talking about getting
• 12:19
Speaker 1: in shape, getting I know, summer's coming and everybody goes, well,
• 12:23
Speaker 1: let's get in shipped for summer. Well, I think we
• 12:25
Speaker 1: need to go a little bit more beyond that and
• 12:28
Speaker 1: just being in shape year round.
• 12:30
  Speaker 13: You know.
• 12:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why I talk about Dicky, because Dicky
• 12:34
Speaker 1: has a set class for Monday through Thursday.
• 12:37
Speaker 2: It's fifty minute sessions.
• 12:39
Speaker 1: You just program it into your lifestyle, into your schedule
• 12:43
Speaker 1: and you get that exercise in.
• 12:45
  Speaker 15: Yeah.
• 12:45
Speaker 11: The nice thing is you don't have to do any
• 12:47
Speaker 11: online registration where you know someplace you get classes. Sometimes
• 12:51
Speaker 11: you don't you organishe a class spot every day and
• 12:53
Speaker 11: you can always clash other times, you know, because life happens,
• 12:56
Speaker 11: you know, it's life camp make in the morning, came
• 12:58
Speaker 11: in the afternoon, a vice versa.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: But now the reason I say that is because we're
• 13:02
Speaker 1: not you just got to stay.
• 13:06
Speaker 2: The problem is you see.
• 13:07
Speaker 1: These these meatheads on are these fitness people on TikTok
• 13:11
Speaker 1: or whatever, and you go that, oh, I got to
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: be like.
• 13:13
Speaker 2: No, you don't have to be like that.
• 13:15
Speaker 1: You just have to work out within your own abilities,
• 13:18
Speaker 1: stay healthy, stay in shape, so you can you know,
• 13:21
Speaker 1: play with your kids or you know, whatever the.
• 13:23
Speaker 2: Case may do yard work.
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: I don't give them, but I mean it's just one
• 13:27
Speaker 1: of those things that everybody looks online and they go, oh,
• 13:29
Speaker 1: I gotta be a fitness model.
• 13:31
  Speaker 2: Now you don't. I can't do a damn pull up,
• 13:32
Speaker 2: but yet I work out every day.
• 13:34
Speaker 11: I mean, you know, you know, all of social media,
• 13:37
Speaker 11: it puts a lot of unrealistic expectation. What they don't
• 13:42
Speaker 11: see is how mighty years those you know, those fitness
• 13:45
Speaker 11: influencers had put in uh and and prior to them
• 13:50
Speaker 11: going on them platform. Right, So here we not only
• 13:53
Speaker 11: start you off. You know, maybe you haven't maybe you
• 13:55
Speaker 11: were an athlete in high school, maybe in al Bundy
• 13:57
Speaker 11: you were scoring, you know, touched under the one game.
• 14:00
Speaker 11: But you know, we start you back up, and then
• 14:02
Speaker 11: we start you with a you know, basic nutrition program,
• 14:05
Speaker 11: and then we'll move up to a custom nutrition program
• 14:07
Speaker 11: depending on what you're trying to do that way, you know,
• 14:10
Speaker 11: that's you know, we all know nutrition is number one
• 14:12
Speaker 11: key to success all especially doing a weight loss. So
• 14:16
Speaker 11: we do that and you know, we get to bring
• 14:19
Speaker 11: the best athlete version of you at the current time
• 14:22
  Speaker 11: some of.
• 14:22
Speaker 1: The let's just talk real quick about some of the exercises.
• 14:25
Speaker 1: You know, obviously we do burpies, we do box jumps,
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: we do curls.
• 14:29
Speaker 11: So we do you know a lot of flyo metrics
• 14:31
Speaker 11: and trying to do that. And obviously if you cannot jump,
• 14:34
Speaker 11: you can always do step up, right, so there's a
• 14:36
  Speaker 11: modification for that.
• 14:38
Speaker 13: We do a lot of free weights.
• 14:39
Speaker 11: That means a lot of Dumbo works and I'm a
• 14:41
Speaker 11: big believer of you know, imbalance of trying to do
• 14:46
Speaker 11: each arm has to balance itself out instead of using
• 14:48
Speaker 11: a lot of bar bells kind of you know, stability
• 14:51
Speaker 11: wise is different. We still do barbell works, but you know,
• 14:55
Speaker 11: we do a lot of free weights.
• 14:56
  Speaker 13: That way.
• 14:57
Speaker 11: I have a girl that is a strong one arm,
• 14:59
Speaker 11: she's injured other arms, so she's got a twenty and five, right,
• 15:02
  Speaker 11: So that's that.
• 15:03
Speaker 13: Can't happen with barbell.
• 15:04
Speaker 11: But you know, we do you know, your basic curls,
• 15:06
Speaker 11: chest presses, but you also do you know, some of
• 15:09
Speaker 11: the similar stuff to cross me. We do snatches, we
• 15:11
Speaker 11: do barbo cleans and thrusters. You know, they need to
• 15:16
Speaker 11: box shouts or they jump ropes. We do a little
• 15:18
Speaker 11: bit of run here and there. I'll run to like
• 15:21
Speaker 11: what one tenth of a mile, so one hundred and
• 15:24
Speaker 11: sixty meters, you know. So the way we break it
• 15:26
Speaker 11: down is usually you know, either a five rounder or
• 15:29
Speaker 11: a ten rounder. And scalability was is very doable no
• 15:33
Speaker 11: matter what level you are at your at your fitness point.
• 15:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 15:37
Speaker 1: And one of the interesting things or one of the
• 15:39
Speaker 1: great things is some of it's time, a lot of
• 15:41
Speaker 1: it's time, so you don't ever get stuck. You don't
• 15:43
Speaker 1: ever get stuck on one thing trying to get it
• 15:45
Speaker 1: done because you're not good at that. Because you're not
• 15:47
Speaker 1: good at one thing, so you're able to get everything in.
• 15:50
Speaker 11: It's funny you say that the reason why we put
• 15:53
Speaker 11: our program works the way it is is because somebody
• 15:55
Speaker 11: did get stuck at one exercise years ago or in
• 16:00
Speaker 11: year fifteen, this is probably year to three. He got
• 16:02
Speaker 11: stuck for like thirty minutes one exercise. I say, this
• 16:06
Speaker 11: has to get better. So we've created this program.
• 16:08
Speaker 2: It's hilarious. All right, Dicky Molliana Fitness.
• 16:12
Speaker 1: You can check them out on the social media's social
• 16:14
Speaker 1: media's and what is the fun number can do?
• 16:16
Speaker 11: Six six one four four four three six three five.
• 16:19
Speaker 11: Well check it out on Instagram or Mulliena Fitness.
• 16:23
Speaker 1: Dickie's here Molliana Fitness. We've been working wend with him
• 16:25
Speaker 1: for years now. He has a class that a fifty
• 16:28
Speaker 1: minute cross training class, five of them a day.
• 16:32
Speaker 2: And you can choose one.
• 16:34
Speaker 1: You got your spot, you take your class, you build
• 16:36
Speaker 1: it into your schedule. So it's just like you know,
• 16:39
Speaker 1: anything else you do. You drop the kids, go to practice,
• 16:42
Speaker 1: you go work out. It's the same thing. Now you
• 16:45
Speaker 1: are going to do something with kids.
• 16:46
  Speaker 2: Now, this is.
• 16:47
Speaker 1: Why this is very important because kids today don't get
• 16:52
Speaker 1: as much exercise as they used to. Right, h Some
• 16:56
Speaker 1: of your kids do because you just throw them outside
• 16:58
Speaker 1: and there run around. But you're gonna do something with
• 17:01
Speaker 1: kids and parents are just kids.
• 17:03
Speaker 11: So it's kids focus, Okay, So we're gonna do it's
• 17:07
Speaker 11: two days a week.
• 17:08
Speaker 13: It's Tuesday and Thursday. Kids at ten am.
• 17:11
Speaker 11: Now the kids are out of school, everybody, you know,
• 17:14
Speaker 11: you can let them sleep in a little and you know,
• 17:16
Speaker 11: get up and do a.
• 17:17
  Speaker 13: Little egg workout.
• 17:18
Speaker 11: Yeah, the one parent is encouraged to join them.
• 17:22
Speaker 13: They don't have to, but it is well that.
• 17:23
Speaker 1: I was That's what I was going to say because
• 17:26
Speaker 1: one of the things that I know is a lot
• 17:29
Speaker 1: of parents be working or playing with their kids, and
• 17:33
Speaker 1: to put to combine that with a workout where they
• 17:37
Speaker 1: can do it together and both get a little healthier
• 17:39
Speaker 1: together is a great idea.
• 17:41
  Speaker 13: Yeah.
• 17:41
Speaker 11: I always say, you know, always have a you know,
• 17:43
Speaker 11: a workout partner, you know, somebody to keep each other accountability.
• 17:46
Speaker 11: You know, what better way to have, you know, a
• 17:48
Speaker 11: mom and a kid or dad and kid to go
• 17:51
Speaker 11: onto these classes. They're very simple, they're very basic. Obviously,
• 17:54
Speaker 11: the age range is is from five years old to
• 17:57
Speaker 11: twelve years old, so okay or twelve or more of
• 17:59
Speaker 11: a the smaller kids not so much of the junior
• 18:02
  Speaker 11: high high school.
• 18:02
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. So moms, if you're looking for
• 18:05
Speaker 2: something to do with your kids during.
• 18:06
Speaker 11: The summer, it based on structure, on like you know,
• 18:11
Speaker 11: functional fitness camp, which is much different than just having
• 18:14
Speaker 11: a camp where uh, you know, they just have you
• 18:17
Speaker 11: your kids run around and just waste time. Two. Yeah,
• 18:21
Speaker 11: this will they'll they'll teach you how to properly do squats,
• 18:24
Speaker 11: properly do push up, you know, your basic stuff from
• 18:27
Speaker 11: the beginning, and then we gradually go on and on
• 18:30
Speaker 11: and obviously the smaller kids is going to have more
• 18:32
Speaker 11: body weight. Maybe the older kids have can do some
• 18:35
Speaker 11: lighter weights as we progress on them. So but it's
• 18:38
Speaker 11: you know, it's only thirty minute sessions.
• 18:40
  Speaker 13: It's twice a week.
• 18:41
  Speaker 7: You know.
• 18:41
Speaker 11: He gets you routine and get your kids to learn
• 18:45
Speaker 11: how properly do workouts and do funk you know, functional
• 18:48
Speaker 11: fitness movement things like that. Because I know my son
• 18:51
Speaker 11: is he's you know, coming on with sixx years old
• 18:54
Speaker 11: and he's learning all this stuff. You can see him
• 18:56
Speaker 11: on my Instagram. He does pretty good. I mean he's sloppy,
• 18:59
  Speaker 11: he's fine.
• 19:00
  Speaker 13: You know.
• 19:00
Speaker 11: Yeah, they have to have a learn in the in
• 19:03
Speaker 11: the early age and take precaution on proper form things
• 19:07
  Speaker 11: like that.
• 19:07
Speaker 1: And it is a great thing, a great time for
• 19:08
Speaker 1: you to spend a little bit of time with your
• 19:10
Speaker 1: kids getting exercise in getting healthier, which fun.
• 19:13
Speaker 11: Of me six six one four four four three six
• 19:16
Speaker 11: three five. And you also see this post later on
• 19:19
  Speaker 11: today about.
• 19:19
Speaker 1: The information about the information for it. I mean, it
• 19:22
Speaker 1: really is a great thing. And you got to understand
• 19:24
Speaker 1: it's not one of these It's not intense intense intense.
• 19:30
Speaker 1: I mean, if you want it to be intense, Dick,
• 19:32
Speaker 1: you'll yell at you. If you're that type of person.
• 19:35
Speaker 1: If you're just kind of laid back and you want
• 19:37
Speaker 1: to you know, you want to work out, and you're
• 19:39
Speaker 1: not really an intense person, you're doing the fear of
• 19:42
Speaker 1: Dicky will handle you in that manner as well.
• 19:44
Speaker 2: Right, Just to understand some people are doing.
• 19:47
Speaker 1: Everybody works out for a different reason, correct, and you
• 19:50
Speaker 1: have to understand that.
• 19:51
  Speaker 2: So Dickie does.
• 19:52
Speaker 11: We're gonna have a lot of fun, but we also
• 19:53
Speaker 11: also going to be strict on on you know, proper
• 19:56
Speaker 11: form things like that. So the kids get a little
• 19:58
Speaker 11: taste of harsh reality. But at the same time they're
• 20:01
Speaker 11: not gonna cry going right, So you gotta.
• 20:03
Speaker 13: Have a balance on that.
• 20:04
Speaker 11: Like all that, and also the parents if you decided
• 20:07
Speaker 11: to join in, you get a little workout, maybe not
• 20:09
Speaker 11: intense workout like a normal class would be because it is
• 20:11
Speaker 11: full focus more on kids, but you get a workout regardless,
• 20:15
Speaker 11: all right, Dicky number again six six one four four, four,
• 20:18
Speaker 11: three six, three five.
• 20:19
Speaker 1: You can text me and call him. Go to Instagram
• 20:21
Speaker 1: check out will you on a fitness Dickie. We'll talk
• 20:23
Speaker 1: to you next week.
• 20:23
Speaker 2: We got it last night.
• 20:25
Speaker 1: The Knicks and the Spurs. I'm getting you know. I'm
• 20:28
Speaker 1: not a huge basketball fan anymore.
• 20:30
Speaker 2: Used to be a.
• 20:30
Speaker 1: Really big basketball fan. And they actually, you know, played
• 20:33
Speaker 1: like men. Now I'm not really sure what they do.
• 20:36
Speaker 1: But the Spurs and the Knicks.
• 20:39
  Speaker 8: What was it?
• 20:39
Speaker 1: Game four at the Garden? Never been to the Garden,
• 20:43
Speaker 1: I'm sure some of you have. I don't know if
• 20:45
Speaker 1: anybody listening has ever been to the Garden. Supposedly it
• 20:48
Speaker 1: is the best place to go watch a game, a concert.
• 20:53
Speaker 1: Supposedly it's the mecca of state areenus to go to.
• 20:58
Speaker 2: Now, I don't know. That could just be New Yorkers.
• 21:00
Speaker 1: Being a holes and jackasses like they are, thinking they're
• 21:03
Speaker 1: better than everybody else when they're really just a bunch
• 21:06
Speaker 1: of clowns. But that's beside the point. So I've never
• 21:10
Speaker 1: been there. I don't know if you have. Gilly might
• 21:13
Speaker 1: have been there. I know Gilly might have gone to
• 21:15
Speaker 1: the Garden. I don't know, maybe he has, but anyway,
• 21:19
Speaker 1: it was just an incredible I don't know if it
• 21:23
Speaker 1: was an incredible basketball game or not. It was kind
• 21:26
Speaker 1: of cool seeing all the stars there. There was a
• 21:28
Speaker 1: lot of celebrities there that were from New York. I
• 21:31
Speaker 1: didn't really see any fans in the building. Maybe Kylie
• 21:35
Speaker 1: jenn Or she might be the only one, but her
• 21:37
Speaker 1: boyfriend's from New York, so you know she's down by association.
• 21:41
Speaker 1: But other than that, I think everybody was legitimately a fan.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: All the celebrities were legitimate New Yorkers and fans of
• 21:47
Speaker 1: the team, so it was kind of.
• 21:48
Speaker 2: Neat seeing all them.
• 21:49
Speaker 1: The excitement of the game, I can only imagine how
• 21:53
Speaker 1: exciting it was for the Knicks fans. They were down
• 21:55
Speaker 1: by like twenty nine I think twenty nine points at
• 21:57
Speaker 1: one point in the game to looked like it was over.
• 22:01
Speaker 1: The Knicks ended up coming back. I think even in
• 22:03
Speaker 1: the fourth quarter they were down by like twenty points.
• 22:06
Speaker 1: The Knicks ended up coming back and winning it by
• 22:08
Speaker 1: one point. I believe, one six, one o seven, I think.
• 22:11
Speaker 2: Is what it was.
• 22:11
Speaker 1: And so I don't know if it was just a
• 22:13
Speaker 1: disastrous flop by the Spurs or if the Knicks are
• 22:15
Speaker 1: that good or whatever.
• 22:17
Speaker 2: Either way, the excitement.
• 22:19
Speaker 1: The point I'm trying to make about it was there's
• 22:23
Speaker 1: a lot of haters out there talking about, Oh, the
• 22:25
Speaker 1: Knicks suck, the Spurs suck. All those people are a
• 22:28
Speaker 1: bunch of idiots, And I do think New Yorker's idiots. Okay,
• 22:32
Speaker 1: but I will say this, the excitement and the emotion
• 22:37
Speaker 1: of that game had to be so incredibly thrilling to
• 22:44
Speaker 1: be there if you were a New York Knicks fan
• 22:46
Speaker 1: and truly are a fan of that team, the excitement
• 22:50
Speaker 1: and the thrill of watching your team losing and they
• 22:55
Speaker 1: should have lost the game, losing by twenty nine points
• 22:59
Speaker 1: in basketball and twenty points in a fourth quarter of basketball,
• 23:03
Speaker 1: and to come back and win by one point.
• 23:08
Speaker 2: I don't know, have you guys ever done anything like that?
• 23:13
Speaker 1: The closest I've ever gotten to that, And it wasn't
• 23:19
Speaker 1: even a game that meaning this is for the championship.
• 23:21
Speaker 1: I was at a Kings game, Me and my brother
• 23:24
Speaker 1: are at a Kings game, like the day after Christmas
• 23:26
Speaker 1: or Christmas Day against the Lakers, and it was one
• 23:29
Speaker 1: of those walkaway shots and this was a meaningless game.
• 23:31
Speaker 1: It didn't mean anything just to us sitting in the
• 23:34
Speaker 1: arena and whoever dropped the game winner with no time
• 23:38
Speaker 1: left and everybody just left the stadium heading down K.
• 23:41
Speaker 2: Street to go party.
• 23:43
Speaker 1: I mean, but the excitement to be in a game.
• 23:46
Speaker 1: I want to say, maybe I was at a Dodger
• 23:48
Speaker 1: game once where a walk off. I think I saw
• 23:51
Speaker 1: a walk off which was just it's exciting. They're thrilling.
• 23:55
Speaker 1: The excitement ups and downs of sports can really be
• 24:02
  Speaker 1: emotional and really.
• 24:03
Speaker 2: Be tiresome, but it can also be so thrilling.
• 24:06
Speaker 1: And I can only imagine how those fans last night,
• 24:11
Speaker 1: you know, and you could talk about what idiots they
• 24:13
Speaker 1: were by destroying stuff, but that's that's not those aren't
• 24:17
Speaker 1: true fans doing that already? Four two, five, four or
• 24:20
Speaker 1: seven to seven? Did you guys watch the game?
• 24:22
Speaker 2: Anybody? And and and what I'll I want to say this.
• 24:24
Speaker 1: The World Cup starts today, so you're gonna see the
• 24:27
Speaker 1: same the same rabid fans or soccer fans. Soccer fans
• 24:32
Speaker 1: are just incredibly loyal, true and emotionally attached to soccer teams.
• 24:37
Speaker 1: So you'll see something very similar today. A lot of
• 24:40
  Speaker 1: places around.
• 24:40
Speaker 9: Town, Hey, what's the man, that's how my house gets room?
• 24:45
Speaker 9: Last night with this game, and then today they're having
• 24:49
Speaker 9: my girl, actually my daughters are having a watch party
• 24:51
Speaker 9: at like even today.
• 24:52
Speaker 2: At the house for the World Cup.
• 24:55
Speaker 10: Yeah, for the World Club room.
• 24:57
Speaker 9: They're like, come on, dad, you've gotta come home for lunch.
• 24:59
Speaker 9: I'm like, nah, up in the middle of the day.
• 25:00
Speaker 10: I got to stay working.
• 25:01
  Speaker 2: Who's playing at eleven o'clock?
• 25:04
Speaker 9: Sure, I don't even know room, I'm telling you have.
• 25:06
Speaker 9: I've been so busy with work. But I know.
• 25:08
Speaker 10: All I know is last night the kids were getting
• 25:09
  Speaker 10: stuff ready and.
• 25:11
Speaker 9: Their dad at eleven o'clock.
• 25:12
Speaker 10: We got our friends coming over and I'm like, all right,
• 25:15
Speaker 10: well you guys have fun.
• 25:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll get crazy for the soccer. Yeah, soccer crazy
• 25:21
Speaker 2: on it, you know what I mean. Yeah, the soccer
• 25:24
  Speaker 2: we had.
• 25:24
Speaker 9: We had a tournament that we were supposed to go
• 25:26
Speaker 9: up into La Room and they had they were trying
• 25:29
Speaker 9: to schedule us for this weekend and I'm like, man,
• 25:32
Speaker 9: you guys are crazy.
• 25:32
Speaker 10: Hotels went up to like eight hundred bucks a night.
• 25:35
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're playing some games in l A. So
• 25:37
Speaker 2: far I forgot about that.
• 25:38
Speaker 14: You're right, yeah, it ain't the time to be We're
• 25:41
Speaker 14: getting no hotel rooms in.
• 25:43
  Speaker 1: LA Yeah, exactly.
• 25:45
Speaker 9: You know what I mean.
• 25:46
Speaker 10: But but yeah, now when you're when you're pad man.
• 25:48
Speaker 9: It gets a little crazy at that. But hey, you
• 25:50
Speaker 9: know what, room, I'm not a big fan of basketball,
• 25:52
Speaker 9: you know that. Yeah, but that game last night, man,
• 25:55
Speaker 9: that was pretty cool. The way they came back.
• 25:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, I was pretty exciting. It was pretty Yeah, it.
• 26:01
Speaker 10: Was comeback like that. You know they wanted it.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: Okay, oh me, Oh, Mexico plays Mexico and South Africa
• 26:10
Speaker 1: play it at noon. They played at noon today and
• 26:15
Speaker 1: then uh yeah that uh that last night game. I
• 26:18
Speaker 1: mean just you could feel the energy just watching it
• 26:21
Speaker 1: on TV now. And I'm not even a I'm not
• 26:25
Speaker 1: even a New York fan. I you know, as far
• 26:27
Speaker 1: as I'm concerned, anything past uh New Mexico don't exist
• 26:32
Speaker 1: to me. I could care less about any of those
• 26:33
Speaker 1: people on that part that way. I'm California in in
• 26:37
Speaker 1: you know, born and raised and would never leave. But
• 26:40
Speaker 1: uh yeah, they you could just feel the excitement. Man,
• 26:43
  Speaker 1: it was wild.
• 26:45
Speaker 2: Yo. I'm a Spurs fan, and it was an epic choke.
• 26:49
Speaker 1: It's true what they say, you live by the three pointer,
• 26:52
Speaker 1: you die by the by it.
• 26:53
Speaker 2: It's an unbelievable game. It was unbelievable.
• 26:57
Speaker 1: You're right, all right, I do got to say this though,
• 27:02
Speaker 1: Oh what did you send me here? Hey, roam, Mexico's
• 27:04
Speaker 1: playing at noon? Oh yeah, so Mexico. Who's Mexico playing
• 27:06
Speaker 1: at noon? South Africa and Mexico playing, And yeah, there's
• 27:09
Speaker 1: gonna be a lot of people out today. Man, if
• 27:11
Speaker 1: you're looking to go to lunch, if you're gonna go
• 27:13
Speaker 1: out and have a you know, there's gonna be a
• 27:15
Speaker 1: lot of people out at noon taking the.
• 27:17
Speaker 2: Rest of the day off to watch Mexico and South
• 27:19
Speaker 2: Africa play. So the World Cup, Man, it's incredible.
• 27:22
Speaker 1: The fans, It's incredible how crazy they get over over soccer.
• 27:26
Speaker 2: And that's why I said last.
• 27:28
Speaker 1: Night when I was watching that Knicks game, boy, that
• 27:31
Speaker 1: that stadium, that Madison Square Garden just looked insane. I mean,
• 27:36
Speaker 1: the feelings, the ups and the downs, and the thrill
• 27:40
Speaker 1: that those fans went through last night must have been
• 27:44
Speaker 1: just incredible, just absolutely insane. You know, alrighty four to two, five, four,
• 27:51
Speaker 1: seven to seven, Yo, Rome, So now where we gonna
• 27:54
Speaker 1: get all these Knicks jerseys at You're gonna see all
• 27:56
Speaker 1: these New York Knick fans in Bakersfield.
• 27:58
Speaker 2: Uh probably not, but.
• 28:02
Speaker 1: That's probably one of the few teams, uh in that
• 28:07
Speaker 1: could win a championship, or because of what they did
• 28:09
Speaker 1: last night, that's probably one of the few teams that
• 28:12
Speaker 1: Bakersfield will bandwagon just because nobody cares about New York.
• 28:17
Speaker 2: New York sucks. I'm probably not.
• 28:19
Speaker 1: I would bet there's not one person in Bakersfield that's
• 28:22
Speaker 1: lived in New York. So I'm just gonna say that
• 28:25
Speaker 1: for that. So, but hey, I don't know. We'll see
• 28:27
Speaker 1: in the New York Nick Flags. Maybe there'll be one
• 28:30
Speaker 1: bandwagoner who really, uh really needs to to make him
• 28:35
Speaker 1: feel better, make himself feel better about his life, so he'll.
• 28:37
  Speaker 2: Go get the the jersey. I don't know. I don't
• 28:40
Speaker 2: think so though. Now I don't think so.
• 28:43
Speaker 1: Of all the teams that Bakersfield's gonna bandwagon, I don't
• 28:45
Speaker 1: think the Knicks are one of them. Michael Bean is
• 28:48
Speaker 1: here for the Marriage and Family Center. We bring it
• 28:50
Speaker 1: right on Thursdays to talk to him about your relationships.
• 28:52
Speaker 2: Good morning, Michael, going all right?
• 28:56
Speaker 1: Marriage Family Center six six one three two seven five
• 29:00
Speaker 1: to one zero zero. Now you are explained everybody what
• 29:05
Speaker 1: you actually do, Michael. Before we get into some stuff
• 29:07
  Speaker 1: to talk about.
• 29:09
Speaker 6: Well, I just mostly help people figure out how to
• 29:12
Speaker 6: how to reconnect again. Whatever's gotten people apart, whether it's
• 29:18
Speaker 6: a bad habit of arguing with each other, they just
• 29:21
Speaker 6: kind of can't really talk or they've just sort of
• 29:24
Speaker 6: drifted apart. You know, our schedules are different, kind of
• 29:27
Speaker 6: not coming together anymore, and that's when that's when people
• 29:33
  Speaker 6: reach out.
• 29:34
Speaker 1: Now, Michael, when you talk about when we talk about reconnecting,
• 29:37
Speaker 1: does it always mean that we have to be fighting
• 29:39
Speaker 1: or arguing or can we just be roommates so to speak?
• 29:44
Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the thing. Sometimes people just kind of they
• 29:48
Speaker 6: sort of stop making the gestures. They kind of just
• 29:52
Speaker 6: you know, the sex life starts to just dissolve. And
• 29:56
Speaker 6: then yeah, they do, like you said it, well they
• 30:00
Speaker 6: well that's so very words though. Use sometimes it's like
• 30:02
  Speaker 6: we're roommates.
• 30:03
  Speaker 10: Well, we're just.
• 30:04
Speaker 1: Kind of I was just curious because we always talk
• 30:07
Speaker 1: about or I think people really find problems in their
• 30:10
Speaker 1: relationship when they're arguing, as opposed to just kind of
• 30:17
Speaker 1: how do I say, putting up with each other, not
• 30:19
Speaker 1: really getting upset over things, just kind of you know,
• 30:22
Speaker 1: humdrum through life with each other. You still might do
• 30:25
Speaker 1: things together every once in a while, or maybe you
• 30:27
Speaker 1: still might do things together because you've been doing it
• 30:30
Speaker 1: that way all these years, and but you're not really
• 30:34
Speaker 1: in a place where you just love.
• 30:37
Speaker 2: Being there, not that you hate being there, but you're
• 30:39
Speaker 2: just kind of blah blah blah blah blah.
• 30:41
Speaker 1: Does that happen? Is that happening more with people than
• 30:46
Speaker 1: we think? And they think everything's just the way it's
• 30:48
Speaker 1: supposed to be because well, that's how my parents were.
• 30:51
Speaker 1: That's just we're not arguing, so we're better than our
• 30:53
Speaker 1: friends who are always fighting. So does that Do you
• 30:56
Speaker 1: see that a lot in relationships?
• 31:00
Speaker 6: Very often the thing we get used to becomes normal.
• 31:04
Speaker 6: I mean that's just almost by definition, that's what normal
• 31:07
Speaker 6: is what we're used to, and so sometimes we get
• 31:09
Speaker 6: used to just this sort of humdrum existed. An interesting
• 31:14
Speaker 6: thing happens sometimes, and that is that when each partner,
• 31:18
Speaker 6: when they're kind of level of attraction and level of
• 31:21
Speaker 6: connectedness kind of goes down at the same time. Then
• 31:25
Speaker 6: you don't see a lot of arguing because they're both
• 31:28
Speaker 6: sort of accepting what's going on. But when one person
• 31:30
Speaker 6: feels really committed and they sense that other person's attachment
• 31:35
Speaker 6: going down. That's when you start to see a lot
• 31:37
Speaker 6: of the arguing because it creates a tension between them
• 31:41
Speaker 6: and the person. You know that it's like, wow, I'm
• 31:43
Speaker 6: being rejected or you know, so I feel threatened, or
• 31:47
Speaker 6: there's something going on, and then that tension comes out
• 31:51
Speaker 6: in the way they talk to each other, the way
• 31:52
Speaker 6: they treat each other, and then all of those bad
• 31:55
Speaker 6: habits start to get amplified, the ones that we really
• 31:59
Speaker 6: work on with couples so that they can actually sit
• 32:03
Speaker 6: down and have a conversation. Wait a minute, let's talk
• 32:05
Speaker 6: about what's really going on where we are right now.
• 32:07
Speaker 2: And what we need.
• 32:08
Speaker 1: Is it possible, Michael, for a couple to be married
• 32:14
Speaker 1: in a relationship where they're not necessarily they're not necessarily happy,
• 32:21
Speaker 1: but they're not miserable, and they may be getting their
• 32:24
Speaker 1: needs met just enough to not see, Hey, this is
• 32:29
Speaker 1: not this could be so much better.
• 32:30
Speaker 2: But you know it's not that terrible.
• 32:33
Speaker 1: I still get sex every six months, or I still
• 32:35
Speaker 1: have whatever. We're not fighting. We still go, you know,
• 32:37
Speaker 1: do the family dinners or whatever and family functions as
• 32:41
Speaker 1: a couple, but we really just aren't as happy to
• 32:44
Speaker 1: it do we not realize it as we're in that relationship,
• 32:48
Speaker 1: do we not realize that it can be better? Because
• 32:51
Speaker 1: we as you said, this is the new normal.
• 32:55
Speaker 6: You're hitting on the main tension of just mental health
• 32:59
Speaker 6: and general because in order to be happy, we need
• 33:04
Speaker 6: to accept things the way they are, and then in
• 33:07
Speaker 6: order to have things be better, we need to not
• 33:10
Speaker 6: accept things all right. We need to know that there
• 33:14
Speaker 6: could be something better, and the progress towards that well,
• 33:18
Speaker 6: I guess mental health is kind of accepting both at
• 33:21
Speaker 6: the same time. The way things are right now is okay,
• 33:24
Speaker 6: but they don't have to be this way tomorrow. They
• 33:26
Speaker 6: could be better tomorrow, and that is a tough thing
• 33:29
Speaker 6: for us to kind of keep in our heads at
• 33:31
  Speaker 6: the same time.
• 33:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Michael Being is here for the Marriage
• 33:34
  Speaker 2: of Family Center.
• 33:35
Speaker 1: All right, everybody, Michael Bean is here for the Marriage
• 33:38
  Speaker 1: of Family Center.
• 33:43
Speaker 6: From the background, it's a good thing.
• 33:46
Speaker 1: It's a good thing at summertime, and nobody's listening. They're all, uh,
• 33:49
Speaker 1: they're all hanging out somewhere else. They're all in bed
• 33:52
Speaker 1: still because their kids don't got to be at school.
• 33:54
Speaker 1: All right, Michael Being is here for the Marriage of
• 33:55
Speaker 1: Family Center. Six one three two seven fifty.
• 33:59
Speaker 2: Now that's where you call Michael.
• 34:01
Speaker 1: If you guys actually want to ask questions about your
• 34:02
Speaker 1: relationship eight four two five four seven seven, we can
• 34:06
Speaker 1: deal with some of it to a certain extent.
• 34:09
Speaker 2: If you guys really have some issues. I know we
• 34:12
Speaker 2: haven't done a lot of that in the last uh
• 34:15
Speaker 2: in the last year's Michael.
• 34:16
Speaker 1: So but so if people, if you do want to
• 34:18
Speaker 1: text me eight four two five four seven seven.
• 34:20
Speaker 2: We can talk a little bit. Michael. I want to
• 34:22
Speaker 2: get back to this.
• 34:23
Speaker 1: Uh, this idea of us being happier in our relationships,
• 34:30
  Speaker 1: and I just I I feel like most people don't
• 34:35
  Speaker 1: really understand that.
• 34:37
Speaker 2: I don't think society has really.
• 34:40
Speaker 1: Uh changed in the way of marriage of going. Look,
• 34:44
Speaker 1: you are gonna have hurdles, ups and downs. You're gonna
• 34:47
  Speaker 1: have struggles.
• 34:47
  Speaker 4: You're gonna have.
• 34:48
Speaker 1: Kids and mortgages and jobs, and it's gonna get a
• 34:51
Speaker 1: little bit complicated. But that does not mean you have
• 34:54
Speaker 1: to lose your relationship in the sense of you need
• 34:58
Speaker 1: to put up with this hub drum lifestyle. You know what,
• 35:02
Speaker 1: we always see that movie, Michael, where they get up,
• 35:04
Speaker 1: go to work at six, come home at five, have dinner,
• 35:08
Speaker 1: watch TV go to you know, that old, just boring
• 35:12
Speaker 1: lifestyle that is monotonous, that you don't have to have that,
• 35:16
Speaker 1: and it doesn't seem like society has ever tried to
• 35:19
Speaker 1: change that as a big picture, at least from my perspective, Michael,
• 35:23
Speaker 1: what do you think about that that.
• 35:25
Speaker 6: We are were very much encouraged to sort of accept
• 35:28
Speaker 6: this kind of idea that you know, over time things
• 35:32
Speaker 6: will get hum drum and you'll just sort of settle
• 35:35
Speaker 6: into this. You know, we'll check on the cheek and
• 35:38
Speaker 6: then we go to our separate corners. You know, you'll
• 35:40
Speaker 6: read the paper and you.
• 35:41
  Speaker 10: Go do whatever.
• 35:43
Speaker 6: Yeah. I just think that it's almost too bad.
• 35:47
Speaker 2: There's so much human potential.
• 35:48
Speaker 6: I think that gets lost or wasted when we just
• 35:52
Speaker 6: accept you know, I don't know, just you were so
• 35:58
Speaker 6: right before when you said that things can get better.
• 36:01
Speaker 6: You could you could be having so much more. And
• 36:04
Speaker 6: just because you're about arguing or fighting or getting cheated
• 36:07
Speaker 6: on or cheating on, just because that's sort of like indpendable,
• 36:12
  Speaker 6: doesn't mean it's great.
• 36:14
Speaker 2: Well, now let me ask you this, Michael, because you
• 36:16
  Speaker 2: did make a make a.
• 36:17
Speaker 1: Comment of what today is doesn't have to be tomorrow.
• 36:21
Speaker 1: So I mean You could have a bad day at work,
• 36:23
Speaker 1: go home and just go sit in your room and
• 36:26
Speaker 1: be pissed off or sip wine in the closet and
• 36:29
Speaker 1: whatever it is you're doing and take that day.
• 36:32
Speaker 2: But the next day you can be okay.
• 36:35
Speaker 1: So now we're with the family and now we're doing
• 36:37
  Speaker 1: stuff now, I mean, I don't.
• 36:39
  Speaker 6: I just don't.
• 36:40
  Speaker 2: I don't.
• 36:41
Speaker 1: I don't get how we get there. How do we
• 36:43
Speaker 1: get back to the point where you go?
• 36:45
Speaker 2: You know what today was kind of we didn't do anything.
• 36:49
Speaker 1: Everybody sat around the house and was on their phones
• 36:51
Speaker 1: and nobody paid attention to each other. But tomorrow doesn't
• 36:53
Speaker 1: have to be like that, and we can figure it
• 36:55
Speaker 1: out if we want to. But do we really want to?
• 36:58
Speaker 2: I guess is that is that? Is that a question
• 37:00
Speaker 2: should be asked as I.
• 37:03
Speaker 6: Think we sometimes want to. It'll it'll occur to us,
• 37:05
Speaker 6: it'll kind of go through our head and then we think, yeah,
• 37:09
Speaker 6: but do I really want to rock the boat or
• 37:11
Speaker 6: do I want to risk rejection? You know, having a
• 37:15
Speaker 6: conversation with your partner of hey, i'd really like to
• 37:17
Speaker 6: spice things up in the bedroom is risking having them
• 37:20
Speaker 6: go yeah, No, I don't. I'm just trying with the
• 37:24
Speaker 6: way things are. Sure, you know that would really hurt.
• 37:27
Speaker 6: So it does matter how you approach these things. But
• 37:32
Speaker 6: but do it. Don't just kind of put it on
• 37:34
Speaker 6: the shelf and kind of go it's too risky.
• 37:37
Speaker 2: Well, at what point do you just give up? Then? Michael?
• 37:39
Speaker 2: We should never give up?
• 37:40
Speaker 1: Right, If we want this person in our life and
• 37:43
Speaker 1: we want this relationship to work well and be happy,
• 37:46
Speaker 1: should we never should give up?
• 37:48
  Speaker 2: Right?
• 37:50
Speaker 6: I don't think it feels like giving up to people
• 37:52
Speaker 6: they settle. When they settle, I think it feels like, hey,
• 37:56
Speaker 6: I'm doing the noble thing. I'm enduring. I'm I'm you know,
• 37:59
Speaker 6: facing the sure this long struggle or whatever. Well, now
• 38:04
Speaker 6: you're giving up. Yeah.
• 38:09
Speaker 1: I saw this video yesterday, Michael, I think it was
• 38:11
Speaker 1: on Instagram, and it showed the dad. The dad went
• 38:15
Speaker 1: out into the backyard to start jumping on the trampoline
• 38:17
Speaker 1: and the question was how long did it take the
• 38:19
Speaker 1: kids to join? Three kids in the house, all on
• 38:22
Speaker 1: their technology and there were little kids, and he goes,
• 38:25
Speaker 1: how long you think it'll take for them to figure
• 38:28
Speaker 1: it out? And the first kid it took fifteen seconds
• 38:30
Speaker 1: for him to run out there and jump on the trampoline.
• 38:32
Speaker 2: The second kid didn't really care. The third kid.
• 38:35
Speaker 1: It took like forty five seconds, they said, and all
• 38:37
Speaker 1: of so two of the kids were out there with
• 38:39
Speaker 1: the dad playing in the trampoline because he started it. Yeah,
• 38:42
Speaker 1: and when as we're talking about this about you got
• 38:47
Speaker 1: to start it, you got to try something right?
• 38:50
Speaker 6: Yeah? Absolutely, I mean again, no, you kind of don't
• 38:54
Speaker 6: have to. But why are you saying no to tomorrow
• 38:57
Speaker 6: just because you're putting up with today? Be like down
• 39:01
Speaker 6: the road for you? What could how could this summer
• 39:04
Speaker 6: end up for you if you don't just kind of
• 39:07
Speaker 6: say mad rather not rock the boat. So you know,
• 39:11
Speaker 6: that's a great vision. It should be in people's mind
• 39:15
Speaker 6: of setting up this trampoline this Hey, there's an opportunity
• 39:19
Speaker 6: here for us and then going for it.
• 39:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to ask you about uh, I want
• 39:24
Speaker 1: to talk to you a little bit more about this.
• 39:26
Speaker 1: Michael Being is here from the Manager Family Center six
• 39:28
Speaker 1: six one three two seven fifty one hundred If you
• 39:31
Speaker 1: want to talk to Michael six six one three two
• 39:33
Speaker 1: seven fifty one hundred if you got any questions and
• 39:35
Speaker 1: four two, five, four or seven and seven about your
• 39:38
Speaker 1: relationship Michael, good morning, and I want to continue a
• 39:43
Speaker 1: little bit about you know kind of kind of I
• 39:48
Speaker 1: don't know how to say, you're not really you kind
• 39:51
Speaker 1: of aren't connected. You're losing your your connection just because
• 39:55
Speaker 1: jobs or kids, or or TV or phones or whatever.
• 39:59
Speaker 1: But you really want to try to get that back.
• 40:02
Speaker 1: And I'm going to use this example again. Oh go ahead, Michael,
• 40:05
  Speaker 1: go ahead.
• 40:06
Speaker 6: No, just I was going to say the way you
• 40:07
Speaker 6: said before the break was was great. It was like
• 40:11
Speaker 6: does it matter how you go about making these changes?
• 40:14
Speaker 6: And I think it really does.
• 40:16
Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, So what do you mean by that?
• 40:21
Speaker 6: Well, I mean if you've ever worked for a company
• 40:23
Speaker 6: where nothing ever happens, right, I mean that's like totally
• 40:27
Speaker 6: a need for a change and nobody's sort of listening
• 40:31
Speaker 6: and just isn't happening. It doesn't. That feels terrible. You
• 40:34
Speaker 6: feel like, wow, this is just there's like nobody home.
• 40:38
Speaker 6: I'm just here by myself. And that's how it feels
• 40:40
Speaker 6: like a relationship when something changes. But then we've also
• 40:43
Speaker 6: worked for a company where all of a sudden, they're like, okay, guys,
• 40:45
Speaker 6: new computer systems, get used to it.
• 40:47
  Speaker 4: Here it is.
• 40:48
Speaker 6: You're going to this training and you're going to learn
• 40:50
Speaker 6: to use this thing, and you're and you just feel
• 40:52
Speaker 6: sort of jerked along. So either approach in relationships is
• 40:56
Speaker 6: also not good. If you want to make changes in
• 40:59
Speaker 6: a relationship, you know, you've got to bring things up.
• 41:02
Speaker 6: You got to bring people along and use some courage
• 41:06
Speaker 6: and encouragement. But you also take your time and you
• 41:09
Speaker 6: kind of just like, yeah, me to find out how
• 41:12
Speaker 6: people are feeling about this change as it goes along,
• 41:15
Speaker 6: or people just feel sort of pushed through it.
• 41:18
Speaker 1: And that's what I was kind of going to give
• 41:19
Speaker 1: to Michael about how you approach it. You know, you
• 41:22
Speaker 1: come in and you go I mean, I'll just give
• 41:24
Speaker 1: you an example. The guy the thing I saw on
• 41:27
Speaker 1: the video the other day, the dad went to play
• 41:29
Speaker 1: on the trampoline. The kids had the option to go
• 41:31
Speaker 1: out or not. Two or the three kids went right
• 41:33
Speaker 1: out there to go play with him. And that's a
• 41:36
Speaker 1: positive change for a relationship to connect with his kids.
• 41:39
Speaker 1: So now you got the kids at home on their phones,
• 41:43
Speaker 1: you got the wife on her phone. Everybody's just kind
• 41:45
Speaker 1: of you know, and then dad comes home and he
• 41:48
Speaker 1: wants to do stuff. Everybody nobody wants to do this,
• 41:51
Speaker 1: or even dad comes home and wants to just sit down,
• 41:53
Speaker 1: and mom wants to do stuff. They've been waiting all
• 41:55
Speaker 1: day for dad to come home to do family stuff.
• 41:57
Speaker 1: The way you handle it, you can't just It's like
• 42:01
Speaker 1: most people give their family or their relationships ultimatums as
• 42:05
Speaker 1: opposed to options, And I just don't understand why we
• 42:10
  Speaker 1: do that.
• 42:11
Speaker 2: And I may be wrong about that.
• 42:14
Speaker 6: No, I think that is an approach a lot of
• 42:15
Speaker 6: people use, or it's kind of almost a bullying approach
• 42:18
Speaker 6: where it's just like, Okay, well give me those phones.
• 42:20
Speaker 6: We're going to go out to the plan exactly, you're
• 42:25
Speaker 6: gonna have people just staring at you while you inside, now,
• 42:31
  Speaker 6: you know.
• 42:33
Speaker 1: But if you give options of doing things that can
• 42:36
Speaker 1: be you know, you say, hey, what do you guys
• 42:37
Speaker 1: feel about doing this? Let's go to the movies, Let's
• 42:40
Speaker 1: go to dinner, let's go you know, to the boulevard,
• 42:43
Speaker 1: let's go I mean, just different options of things that
• 42:46
Speaker 1: you can do together, even if it's something at home.
• 42:48
  Speaker 1: I just I don't see a lot of people doing
• 42:53
Speaker 1: giving options for everybody to kind of decide for themselves,
• 42:56
Speaker 1: like this is the best way for me to reconnec
• 43:00
  Speaker 1: with you.
• 43:00
Speaker 2: Instead, you're like you said, bully, ultimatum, things like that.
• 43:04
Speaker 6: Yeah, And here's the weird thing that happens when the
• 43:06
Speaker 6: honeymoon face starts to wear off. Remember when you were
• 43:10
Speaker 6: courting that person, when you wanted their attention, Man, you
• 43:14
Speaker 6: would put up with a ton of rejection. You would
• 43:16
Speaker 6: try little things here and there, and sometimes they didn't work,
• 43:18
Speaker 6: and you didn't care. You were gonna we stay persistent, Yes,
• 43:23
Speaker 6: But then later in the relationship was then it's just like, oh, man,
• 43:27
Speaker 6: would feel so terrible if they said no, Well, wait
• 43:29
Speaker 6: a minute, what happened to you? Where's that person that
• 43:32
Speaker 6: showed up you know six months or year, two years ago,
• 43:36
Speaker 6: was just willing to try all kinds of new things.
• 43:39
Speaker 6: What happened to that person? Now all of a sudden,
• 43:41
Speaker 6: you're this person that's just like super gun shy or whatever.
• 43:44
Speaker 6: And you know, we sometimes will like go, yeah, that's
• 43:48
Speaker 6: true because of them. We sort of blamed their behavior
• 43:54
Speaker 6: on how we are now and the why that never.
• 43:57
Speaker 1: Goes well, all right, Michael, mean you saved for the
• 43:59
Speaker 1: marriage of family center. One last thing, Michael, as it
• 44:02
Speaker 1: pertains to this situation. Then I got a couple questions
• 44:04
Speaker 1: I want to ask you.
• 44:05
Speaker 2: People have texted in is one day you might And
• 44:09
Speaker 2: I always joke about this at my house.
• 44:12
Speaker 1: I always say, you know, one day I'll walk into
• 44:14
Speaker 1: the house and the dishes are there and I think, yeah,
• 44:16
Speaker 1: they don't bother me. The next day I might wake
• 44:19
Speaker 1: up and go, man, those are really botheringly. Let me
• 44:21
Speaker 1: get that done right now, because they're just driving me
• 44:23
Speaker 1: insane today, but they didn't drive me insane yesterday.
• 44:26
Speaker 2: So how do we.
• 44:28
Speaker 1: Deal with a couples who maybe one day he or
• 44:31
Speaker 1: she really doesn't want to do You're just not on
• 44:33
Speaker 1: the same energy level at that day, and it never
• 44:38
Speaker 1: seems to work out. Now one day turns into one month.
• 44:45
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 44:45
Speaker 6: How do you kind of persist with anything that isn't
• 44:49
Speaker 6: like a sure thing. Well, it's real easy to just say, okay,
• 44:54
Speaker 6: well I'm going to paint this room a different color,
• 44:56
Speaker 6: and then you pick out the paint and you do it,
• 44:58
Speaker 6: because that's one thing you can just to make a
• 45:00
Speaker 6: decision about and how it happen. But when you're dealing
• 45:02
Speaker 6: with another person, you are you've got their attitudes about
• 45:06
Speaker 6: it and how they're going to respond to it, and
• 45:10
Speaker 6: their energies and up to the downs, and so you
• 45:13
Speaker 6: do have to have a different kind of patience and
• 45:15
Speaker 6: persistence than you do with almost any other thing that
• 45:18
Speaker 6: you're trying to make changes in this.
• 45:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Michael Bean is here for the Marriage
• 45:22
Speaker 1: and Family Center. Michael Being is here for the Marriage
• 45:24
Speaker 1: and Family Center. Six six, one, three, two, seven fifty
• 45:27
Speaker 1: one hundred. You call Michael, go through the motions. There
• 45:30
Speaker 1: is some steps you have to follow, and you can
• 45:31
Speaker 1: get a hold of them. Good morning, Michael, Well, good morning.
• 45:34
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 45:34
Speaker 1: Somebody just texted I want to have this conversation because
• 45:37
  Speaker 1: I think it's a very important one that a lot
• 45:39
Speaker 1: of people may be dealing with in their lives.
• 45:40
Speaker 2: It says, good morning, Romeo.
• 45:42
Speaker 1: The question is he wants me to hear about his day,
• 45:46
Speaker 1: but when I tell him about mine, he shows no.
• 45:49
Speaker 2: Interest or barely even responds.
• 45:54
Speaker 1: Pretty common, right, Michael, Just not it Sometimes it's just
• 45:57
Speaker 1: even common between friends.
• 45:59
  Speaker 2: It's just personality.
• 46:00
Speaker 6: Between people, true, and I would say personalities and also
• 46:05
Speaker 6: just habits of interaction. It's the way you kind of
• 46:08
Speaker 6: start interacting with each other and it becomes it becomes
• 46:11
Speaker 6: kind of the rules of your relationship. And Man, before
• 46:15
Speaker 6: I answer, I just wanted to like let everybody know, hey,
• 46:18
Speaker 6: I get it that I don't know your situation, and
• 46:22
Speaker 6: we're sitting here talking about relationships kind of in general
• 46:25
Speaker 6: terms in ways that may or may not apply to
• 46:28
Speaker 6: somebody who's listening to this. There are persons people right
• 46:30
Speaker 6: now who are just thinking so frustrated hearing this because
• 46:34
Speaker 6: I know all of that. I've tried all of that,
• 46:37
Speaker 6: you know, it's just that it doesn't work. And so
• 46:41
Speaker 6: I just want to let you know, I get it
• 46:43
Speaker 6: that I don't understand your situation. I want to understand
• 46:46
Speaker 6: your situation so I can help specifically you, But right
• 46:49
Speaker 6: now we just need we just have to kind of
• 46:50
Speaker 6: talk in generality in ways that might appeal to most people,
• 46:56
Speaker 6: but I let it that you're not most people, you know. Okay, Yeah,
• 47:01
Speaker 6: these habits of interaction where you end up feeling like, okay, well,
• 47:05
Speaker 6: how is it that I can listen to you and
• 47:08
Speaker 6: hear you talk about something maybe that's not even really
• 47:11
Speaker 6: that interesting to me, That I can hear you out
• 47:13
Speaker 6: and let you kind of speak, But when it's my turn,
• 47:15
Speaker 6: I feel sort of cut off or put off or like,
• 47:18
Speaker 6: now it's just like you're making some big, huge sacrifice
• 47:21
Speaker 6: to even hear me. For ten seconds. That doesn't feel good.
• 47:24
Speaker 6: It just doesn't. And almost behind that question, I just
• 47:28
Speaker 6: sent this feeling of almost like a lack of respect,
• 47:31
Speaker 6: you know, or something, or lack of regards. Maybe that
• 47:34
Speaker 6: other person just doesn't think much of me. And when
• 47:38
Speaker 6: it comes across like that, I don't know that that
• 47:41
Speaker 6: person is feeling that way, But in those interactions, in
• 47:44
Speaker 6: that moment when you just want to be heard, it
• 47:46
Speaker 6: does kind of feel that way. It feels bad that
• 47:48
Speaker 6: we have to assert ourselves instead of the other person
• 47:52
Speaker 6: sort of asserting our needs for us.
• 47:55
Speaker 1: I got nine hundred questions for you. One is was
• 47:59
Speaker 1: he like that when you met him?
• 48:02
  Speaker 7: Two?
• 48:03
Speaker 2: When you deal with somebody, just because.
• 48:06
Speaker 1: They don't react the way that you react when somebody's
• 48:10
Speaker 1: saying something to you, doesn't mean they're not listening.
• 48:15
Speaker 2: And what is the if you're more of a.
• 48:22
Speaker 1: Animated, vocal person and you show it in a way
• 48:26
Speaker 1: that seems different than somebody else shows it to you,
• 48:29
Speaker 1: does that really mean that they're not that they don't care?
• 48:33
Speaker 1: And I'm just these are the questions I would ask Mica.
• 48:36
Speaker 1: I'm not trying to contradict what she's saying. What I'm
• 48:38
Speaker 1: saying is all of these things complicate, and as you said,
• 48:41
Speaker 1: I don't know your situation. You just said it, so
• 48:44
Speaker 1: these would be all the questions you have to figure
• 48:46
Speaker 1: out before you can actually help somebody and go, wait
• 48:49
Speaker 1: a second, here's where we can help each other. But
• 48:52
Speaker 1: we don't know any of those questions. I don't know
• 48:55
Speaker 1: if he's been like that from day one. I don't
• 48:57
Speaker 1: know if he's listening and he just his responses are
• 49:00
Speaker 1: more of a you know, he's kind of a quiet, silent,
• 49:03
Speaker 1: quiet time or a quiet type, and she's more of
• 49:07
Speaker 1: a vocalizing, you know.
• 49:08
  Speaker 2: Huggy feely type. I don't know those questions. I don't
• 49:11
Speaker 2: know those answers to those questions.
• 49:13
Speaker 1: Now, let me ask you this, Does that play a
• 49:15
Speaker 1: factor in helping somebody?
• 49:17
Speaker 2: As I just asked you those questions.
• 49:20
Speaker 6: Well, I mean, at some point it might. I think
• 49:23
Speaker 6: initially it's really important to just take a person at
• 49:26
Speaker 6: face value and go, hey, if you're having this question,
• 49:29
Speaker 6: it's because you're really lacking something that you need in
• 49:32
Speaker 6: this relationship. And that was my best guess is that
• 49:35
Speaker 6: it's that feeling of feeling regarded.
• 49:38
  Speaker 2: I don't disagree with you. I think you're right.
• 49:40
Speaker 1: I just I would just wanted to know these other
• 49:42
Speaker 1: things to understand more about him. Maybe you're overreacting and
• 49:46
Speaker 1: he's underreacting, and now we can we got to find
• 49:49
Speaker 1: a middle middle ground for everybody.
• 49:52
  Speaker 11: There.
• 49:53
Speaker 6: There are ways to go with this, for sure. There
• 49:55
Speaker 6: are ways or this this person who wrote in to
• 49:59
Speaker 6: get their needs in this relationship in a really fulfilling way.
• 50:02
Speaker 6: I'm not sure what those ways are, just because that's
• 50:05
Speaker 6: the process. That's how we have to get to through
• 50:09
Speaker 6: the interaction, by finding out all the details about you know,
• 50:13
Speaker 6: the history and the actual dynamics of the relationship, what
• 50:17
Speaker 6: got it to this point and what keeps it at
• 50:19
Speaker 6: this point. That's the important thing. I mentioned the word history,
• 50:22
Speaker 6: and that is important, just that it sort of enlightens
• 50:26
Speaker 6: how the path was walked to this point. But we
• 50:30
Speaker 6: don't dwell on it. We we talk about, okay, well, what
• 50:32
Speaker 6: is the dynamic right now and what would you like
• 50:34
Speaker 6: it to be and what's the first step kind of
• 50:36
  Speaker 6: toward that or.
• 50:37
Speaker 1: Is that Michael Beans got a good chat here marriage
• 50:41
Speaker 1: a Family Center six one three fifty one hundred and
• 50:45
Speaker 1: give him a call.
• 50:46
Speaker 2: Michael, we want to talk to you next week.
• 50:48
Speaker 1: I uh, I was going to ask you something.
• 50:52
Speaker 2: Oh, I'll talk to you about it off there, all right.
• 50:54
Speaker 6: Michael, Well you're thinking about that. I just want to
• 50:56
Speaker 6: remind people that when you do call six six one
• 50:58
Speaker 6: three two, just follow the instructions. Just listen to the
• 51:02
Speaker 6: message and follow the instructions and you'll get.
• 51:04
Speaker 13: To talk to you.
• 51:05
Speaker 2: If they knew how to listen, Michael, they wouldn't be
• 51:07
  Speaker 2: calling you.
• 51:09
Speaker 1: So the Dad Olympics, We've got the Dad Olympics coming
• 51:11
Speaker 1: up on Thursday, June eighteenth over at the Boulevard. Okay,
• 51:15

• 51:45

• 51:47
Speaker 1: cold beer, video games, all that good stuff bowling, so
• 51:53
Speaker 1: we're gonna be there for that. And this Dad Olympics
• 51:56
Speaker 1: might be turning out better than I think. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven.

• 52:29
  Speaker 1: I know I'm missing something, but anyway, so it's a
• 52:33
Speaker 1: big prize pack for dads, second, first, second, and third,
• 52:38
Speaker 1: and I've been signing dads up, so I guess all
• 52:41
Speaker 1: it gets. Let me just double check what the prizes
• 52:45
Speaker 1: are again. I don't want to miss anybody. Yeah, Mecca,
• 52:49

Speaker 1: be a part of it.
• 53:02
Speaker 2: So let me see what you sent me.
• 53:05
Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, if you're still taking dads for the competition,
• 53:08
Speaker 1: sign me and my son up. Please Seejy and Andrew.
• 53:13
Speaker 1: All right, you guys are in CJ. I'm assuming Dad's
• 53:17

• 53:23
Speaker 1: and you're in. Now.
• 53:25
Speaker 2: The contest is gonna.
• 53:26
Speaker 1: Go from seven thirty to ten seven thirty am to
• 53:33
Speaker 1: ten am on Thursday.
• 53:35
Speaker 2: June eighteenth, over at the Boulevard.
• 53:38
Speaker 1: Okay, I want to make sure you guys know it's
• 53:40
Speaker 1: an early morning thing, so you guys will come down
• 53:43
Speaker 1: Dad Olympics. Sign me up Rome for the Dad Olympics.
• 53:46
Speaker 1: Jonathan and Brandon. Yep, Jonathan and Brandon.
• 53:49
Speaker 2: You are in. So now what did I say?
• 53:52
  Speaker 8: Now?
• 53:52
Speaker 1: I got thirteen huh thirteen teams.
• 53:56
Speaker 2: I need twenty. We don't need to get them all today.
• 53:58
Speaker 1: We got until the seventeenth to sign you guys all up.
• 54:01
Speaker 2: But yeah, I want to let you guys play. But
• 54:04
  Speaker 2: once once I.
• 54:06
Speaker 1: Get my uh, once I get my twenty teams, I
• 54:10
Speaker 1: can't let you guys in.
• 54:11
Speaker 2: You just have to come down and watch and hang
• 54:12
Speaker 2: out with us, all right.
• 54:14
Speaker 1: So I was watching some videos earlier today about the
• 54:17
Speaker 1: Knicks fans right the next very impressive with what they did,
• 54:23
Speaker 1: and very impressive with what what happened last night at
• 54:29
Speaker 1: the at the next game in the NBA Finals. Uh,
• 54:34
Speaker 1: Richie and Little Ritchie, do you guys want to participate?
• 54:37
Speaker 1: They just sent me two names, Richie and Little I
• 54:39
  Speaker 1: don't know what that means. I don't know what you're
• 54:41
Speaker 1: asking me. So things that all their fans are fake, right,
• 54:47
Speaker 1: And I will tell you this that there, I believe
• 54:50
Speaker 1: that we're all those fans that were sided in celebrity
• 54:53
Speaker 1: row and wherever they put them.
• 54:55
Speaker 2: I one percent believed the fans unlike Los Angeles.
• 54:59
Speaker 1: I think on jan Los Angeles is the most trendy
• 55:02
Speaker 1: fake losers on the planet. But I believe they were
• 55:06
Speaker 1: real fans. And so they were. I was watching a
• 55:08
Speaker 1: video they were asking of all the fans they are
• 55:10
Speaker 1: like Taylor Swift was there. I think Taylor Swift goes
• 55:12
Speaker 1: to the Knicks games even when they're not.
• 55:14
Speaker 2: In the in the spotlight.
• 55:18
  Speaker 7: Uh.
• 55:19
Speaker 1: And and they were talking about who was the fakest
• 55:20
Speaker 1: FN there. Some idiot had the nerve to say Spike Lee.
• 55:25
Speaker 1: Spike Lee pays for his tickets. For those of you
• 55:27
Speaker 1: that don't know those, a lot of those celebrities get
• 55:30
Speaker 1: free tickets, but they have a lot of rules they
• 55:32
Speaker 1: got to follow to get those free tickets. Spike Lee
• 55:34
Speaker 1: pays for his season tickets. Okay, so Spike Lee has
• 55:39
Speaker 1: been a fan of the Knicks forever. He is the
• 55:40
Speaker 1: ultimate fan of the Knicks, if you're going to ask anybody.
• 55:45
Speaker 2: But they said Kylie Jenner.
• 55:46
Speaker 1: And this is why I wanted to say this, because
• 55:48
Speaker 1: they were talking, well, Timothy Chalome he's a fake fan,

Speaker 1: and Kylie Jenner. And then they said, well, Kylie Jenner's
• 55:56
  Speaker 1: a third thing. I don't think Timothy Schallomet is a
• 56:00
Speaker 1: fake fan. I think he is a young fan who
• 56:04
Speaker 1: can now uh he can now afford to go sit
• 56:13
Speaker 1: there an he's famous. But I don't think Kylie Jenner
• 56:17
  Speaker 1: is a fan of the Knicks. I think she's a
• 56:18
Speaker 1: fan of her boyfriend. And I think it's funny how
• 56:24
Speaker 1: ignorant people get online and say ignorant things.
• 56:28
  Speaker 2: Well, she's, of course she's not a real fan. She's
• 56:30
  Speaker 2: a California girl. I don't even know that she's.
• 56:32
Speaker 1: A sports fan, to be honest with you, of any sport.
• 56:35
Speaker 1: But her boyfriend is, so, what are you gonna do?
• 56:39
Speaker 1: What do you what would you do? Let me ask
• 56:40
Speaker 1: you this question. What are you supposed to do? You're
• 56:44
Speaker 1: a huge fan of something, right, you're a huge fan
• 56:48
Speaker 1: of I don't know. You will pick your team and
• 56:50
Speaker 1: then you go and get married.
• 56:52
Speaker 2: What are you supposed to do?
• 56:53
Speaker 1: Not take your wife, not take your girlfriend to to to.
• 56:59
Speaker 2: What turned out to be one of the I wish
• 57:02
  Speaker 2: I was.
• 57:02
Speaker 1: At the at Madison Square Garden last night, and I
• 57:05
Speaker 1: want both those teams to lose, but I wish I
• 57:09
Speaker 1: was there to just to experience that what are you
• 57:11
  Speaker 1: supposed to do?
• 57:13
  Speaker 9: Look?
• 57:13
Speaker 1: Man, you could be a fan by association. And my
• 57:17
Speaker 1: best friend called me and said, hey, bro, I got
• 57:19
Speaker 1: tickets to the Knicks. Let's go check them out. Okay,
• 57:22
Speaker 1: let's go. Oh Romeo is a fake ass fan.
• 57:25
  Speaker 2: No, I'm not.
• 57:25
Speaker 1: I'm a fan of being involved in stuff that's fun,
• 57:29
Speaker 1: that looks like fun. I don't like the Dodgers, but
• 57:32
Speaker 1: I love going to watch Dodger games because it where well.
• 57:35
Speaker 1: Also because Daniel Rodriguez got some amazing seats, and I
• 57:39
Speaker 1: sit with all those people and have an amazing time.
• 57:42
Speaker 2: There's so much fun and I don't care if the
• 57:45
Speaker 2: Dodgers win or lose. You know, it's just about so
• 57:50
Speaker 2: I'm sick of this, you know.
• 57:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, what did you send me here? Eight four
• 57:55
Speaker 1: two post four or seven to seven? What up?
• 57:57
  Speaker 8: Rome?
• 57:58
Speaker 1: As a parent, do you think it's easier to raise
• 58:01
  Speaker 1: a boy than a girl?
• 58:04
  Speaker 4: Uh?
• 58:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's easier to raise a boy than a girl.
• 58:08
Speaker 2: Why why would you ask me that question?
• 58:13
Speaker 1: Boys are far easier to raise than girls, absolutely, especially
• 58:16
Speaker 1: with today's drama filled social media. Everybody wants to be
• 58:20
Speaker 1: an influencer. Nonsentence, Yeah, I would say it's one hundred
• 58:24
Speaker 1: per easier to raise a boy than a girl, especially
• 58:29
Speaker 1: especially in today's society. Maybe thirty years ago as a
• 58:32
Speaker 1: fifty to fifty about the same.
• 58:34
Speaker 5: But no, yes, oh my gosh, so they the girl
• 58:40
Speaker 5: is so much harder to deal with, knowing I have
• 58:44
Speaker 5: a sixteen year old and I've started over and I
• 58:47
  Speaker 5: have now have.
• 58:48
Speaker 6: A two year old.
• 58:49
Speaker 8: It's so much easier than my sixteen year old, even
• 58:54
Speaker 8: though they have the difference.
• 58:56
Speaker 5: But you're right, that's society of she wants, he.
• 59:00
Speaker 8: Wants all this stuff, and I'm like, and my nephews
• 59:05
Speaker 8: are so different, and I'm like, they don't want none
• 59:08
Speaker 8: of that. I'm just like I And then I'm having
• 59:11
Speaker 8: another girl, and I'm like, I'm not the positical for
• 59:13
Speaker 8: I wanted another Boys.
• 59:15
Speaker 5: Boys are terrible, don't get me wrong.
• 59:18
Speaker 8: But but girls, their attitudes, their attitude for me.
• 59:23
Speaker 1: Do you let me ask you this question though. Do
• 59:25
Speaker 1: you think that in the eighties girls were harder to
• 59:29
  Speaker 1: raise the voice?
• 59:31
  Speaker 10: I don't think so.
• 59:33
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think so either. I think today's it's easier.
• 59:36
Speaker 5: Yeah, because they were raised different.
• 59:39
Speaker 8: It's like, okay, they do what they have to do,
• 59:41
Speaker 8: you know, so they're trained different. And then it's some
• 59:46
  Speaker 8: mothers that's that's, you.
• 59:48
Speaker 5: Know, teaching them too. So okay, I mean it comes
• 59:52
Speaker 5: with it starts from home, like they say.
• 59:55
Speaker 1: So I agree with you, but I think I think
• 59:57
Speaker 1: it's far worse today for for for girls to raise
• 1:00:00
Speaker 1: girls just because of just because of social media, just
• 1:00:03
Speaker 1: because of what's going on.
• 1:00:05
Speaker 5: With social media and all the drama. But he says,
• 1:00:07
Speaker 5: she's saying, like this boy, yeah, so.
• 1:00:10
Speaker 2: Much, so much all appreciate it, you do. Yeah, I
• 1:00:16
  Speaker 2: think she's right. I think.
• 1:00:19
Speaker 1: Before I think when it comes to raising kids, before
• 1:00:23
Speaker 1: social media, girls were probably easier or probably about the
• 1:00:26
Speaker 1: same as boys. But after social media, it's probably much
• 1:00:30
  Speaker 1: harder to.
• 1:00:31
  Speaker 2: Raise girls Promeo.
• 1:00:32
Speaker 12: So you still talking about the girls or the voice easier?
• 1:00:36
  Speaker 2: Yeah, what's up?
• 1:00:38
Speaker 7: But like, in what aspect are we talking easier?
• 1:00:41
Speaker 12: Because I have four boys, I don't have daughters, but
• 1:00:45
Speaker 12: I do know my friend she has all girls, no
• 1:00:49
Speaker 12: no sense. So I'm like, you know, comparing apples to apples.
• 1:00:52
Speaker 8: But it's like, in what aspects.
• 1:00:55
  Speaker 3: Are they easier?
• 1:00:56
Speaker 4: Do you think the boys?
• 1:00:58
  Speaker 5: Oh?
• 1:00:58
Speaker 2: Well, I just think boys bring lesson drama to the party.
• 1:01:01
Speaker 1: They might bring more chaos and more headaches and more
• 1:01:05
Speaker 1: nonsense in a sense of because they do goofy things,
• 1:01:10
Speaker 1: you know, and they get they get into you know,
• 1:01:12
Speaker 1: they jump around a lot, so to.
• 1:01:15
Speaker 2: Speak, and get in the messages.
• 1:01:16
Speaker 1: But women just bring emotional drama to the table for
• 1:01:19
Speaker 1: no reason all the time.
• 1:01:21
Speaker 2: I mean, you know, you women are emotional lucky.
• 1:01:24
Speaker 12: I need that emotional drama. I'm like, it's so fun
• 1:01:30
Speaker 12: me here, like it's so like my boys, that's so
• 1:01:32
Speaker 12: bored well, yeah, they're boring. I guess that is that
• 1:01:35
Speaker 12: is easier, right because they're boring, but uh, they're expensive,
• 1:01:38
Speaker 12: like the food like she was talking to the girl earlier,
• 1:01:41
Speaker 12: was talking about they want the girls want you Cattoo's it,
• 1:01:44
Speaker 12: you know, but the boys they eat a lot.
• 1:01:45
Speaker 10: And then also like you know, you can.
• 1:01:48
Speaker 12: Go to like the sort like Forever twenty one and
• 1:01:50
Speaker 12: like get you know, a que outfit for a reasonable price,
• 1:01:53
Speaker 12: but the boys they want like that name brand.
• 1:01:56
Speaker 6: That's you know what, You're right.
• 1:01:57
Speaker 2: I'm not going to argue with you. You're absolutely right,
• 1:02:00
Speaker 2: but I was gonna.
• 1:02:01
Speaker 1: Say, you know how you know how you women are
• 1:02:03
Speaker 1: with your emotional drama, and then you had to say
• 1:02:05
Speaker 1: that's what I missed, emotional drama.
• 1:02:09
Speaker 12: I think that's what I'm walking in my household is
• 1:02:11
Speaker 12: because it's like I'm like, man, like what to her hospital,
• 1:02:14
Speaker 12: She's like so annoyed about surgeons. It's so frustrating for her.
• 1:02:18
Speaker 12: But like you know, I'm me, I'm like, wow, it's
• 1:02:20
Speaker 12: so aliab over here.
• 1:02:23
Speaker 1: Four two five, four seven seven. Somebody asked me if
• 1:02:26
Speaker 1: it was easier to raise a boy or a girl,
• 1:02:30
Speaker 1: and I would say yes. In today's society. It's easier
• 1:02:35
Speaker 1: to raise a boy than it is to raise a girl.
• 1:02:38
Speaker 1: But social media really does screw uh, you know, really
• 1:02:41
Speaker 1: does throw a monkey wrench into the program with all
• 1:02:44
Speaker 1: these girls trying to be you know, influencers or never
• 1:02:47
Speaker 1: getting a break from the drama of just being a girl.
• 1:02:51
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 1:02:52
  Speaker 2: And and this.
• 1:02:53
Speaker 1: Is what somebody said, Hey, rom that girl who just
• 1:02:55
Speaker 1: called talking about she has all boys and her friend
• 1:02:59
Speaker 1: has all girls. Did she say she misses the drama
• 1:03:03
Speaker 1: of being a girl. Yeah, that's what she said. That
• 1:03:08
  Speaker 1: and that and that's why I say it's not it's
• 1:03:13
Speaker 1: it's harder to raise girls. But part of the problem is,
• 1:03:19
Speaker 1: as it comes to this, I think there's a lot
• 1:03:21
Speaker 1: of moms out there that like the drama that they
• 1:03:24
Speaker 1: missed that high school, that popular girl, that mean girl
• 1:03:29
Speaker 1: that this boy likes, that boy type drama that is created.
• 1:03:34
Speaker 1: And I think I think there's a lot, especially in Rosdale,
• 1:03:39
Speaker 1: I think a lot of those moms live vicariously through
• 1:03:41
Speaker 1: the through the drama of their girls, you know, And
• 1:03:44
Speaker 1: I think they like it, you know.
• 1:03:48
Speaker 2: But yeah, but I but I do.
• 1:03:50
Speaker 1: I do want to say this though I do think
• 1:03:52
Speaker 1: that it was it has changed. I think that raising
• 1:03:57
Speaker 1: raising kids, and so let's say the seventies, eighties, even
• 1:04:01
Speaker 1: the nineties was uh, was probably about the same no
• 1:04:05
Speaker 1: matter what gender they were. But once we've reached this
• 1:04:08
Speaker 1: Internet era and this social media era and this influencer era,
• 1:04:13
Speaker 1: and this idea that these girls cannot get away from
• 1:04:15
Speaker 1: the drama at school because it's all over social media.
• 1:04:18
  Speaker 2: Their boyfriend went.
• 1:04:19
Speaker 1: Out with this girl, that was hanging out with that girl,
• 1:04:21
Speaker 1: and that just is thrown in their face because they're
• 1:04:23
Speaker 1: always following each other. I think that's really when it's changed,
• 1:04:28
Speaker 1: that they're uh that girls are harder.
• 1:04:33
Speaker 2: To raise, all right, e four two four seven to seven?
• 1:04:37
Speaker 2: What did he say? I mean this is a.
• 1:04:41
  Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, So I don't I don't know. I
• 1:04:48
Speaker 1: just think boys, I mean, even though boys eat more,
• 1:04:52
Speaker 1: boys are are a little less dramatic. They might, you know,
• 1:04:56
Speaker 1: you might want to up your insurance because your boys.
• 1:04:59
Speaker 1: But Na, the girls are far harder to raise.
• 1:05:02
Speaker 3: Hey, Romeo, I just want to say I one hundred
• 1:05:04
Speaker 3: percent agree with you. I have two daughters and a
• 1:05:07
Speaker 3: son and he's in the middle.
• 1:05:10
Speaker 5: That kid, he's so easy.
• 1:05:12
  Speaker 4: That girl.
• 1:05:14
Speaker 8: I take blood pressure medication.
• 1:05:15
  Speaker 12: So now.
• 1:05:18
Speaker 3: How old they get older, it doesn't get any better.
• 1:05:21
Speaker 2: How old are your daughters?
• 1:05:22
Speaker 3: So they're twenty two now and sixteen, and my son's nineteen.
• 1:05:26
Speaker 2: At what point did the daughters become harder to raise?
• 1:05:29
  Speaker 15: At?
• 1:05:29
  Speaker 2: What age?
• 1:05:31
Speaker 3: I say, around when they started in middle school?
• 1:05:33
Speaker 2: Okay? Yeah, yeah, okay.
• 1:05:35
Speaker 1: They were just sweet angels from when they were born
• 1:05:38
Speaker 1: till about what ten eleven?
• 1:05:41
  Speaker 10: Yeah?
• 1:05:42
Speaker 8: Okay, yeah, I love them so much.
• 1:05:47
Speaker 10: So, but I get it.
• 1:05:48
Speaker 2: I get it hard.
• 1:05:50
Speaker 5: They are hard, and.
• 1:05:51
Speaker 2: You said they're still hard even. How's the twenty one
• 1:05:54
Speaker 2: year old now? Does she still live with you?
• 1:05:56
  Speaker 12: Yeah?
• 1:05:56
Speaker 10: She went to college.
• 1:05:58
  Speaker 2: Oh sure, I.
• 1:05:59
Speaker 3: Say, and it was, you know, a bit mud you know,
• 1:06:02
Speaker 3: just like so she came back home. But now she's,
• 1:06:05
Speaker 3: you know, living her best life back home and trying
• 1:06:08
Speaker 3: to figure it out. And as attorney for her, so
• 1:06:10
Speaker 3: I think that's kind of helping her.
• 1:06:12
  Speaker 6: Oh good goods?
• 1:06:15
Speaker 2: All right, well perfect, Well thanks for coming. I appreciate it.
• 1:06:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, girls are easy to raise when they're running around
• 1:06:23
Speaker 1: in their uh, in their little addresses and Tutuo's loving
• 1:06:26
  Speaker 1: on you just.
• 1:06:27
Speaker 2: Wanted to hang out.
• 1:06:28
Speaker 1: But once they hit that middle school, huh, that's when
• 1:06:30
Speaker 1: you gotta worry about them. Already four, two, five, four,
• 1:06:33
Speaker 1: seven to seven. Ego, Morning, Romeo, You'll be surprised at
• 1:06:37
Speaker 1: the amount of dudes out here gossiping being more dramatic
• 1:06:40
Speaker 1: than of females. I prefer my female friends because they
• 1:06:44
Speaker 1: more straight up than most guys.
• 1:06:47
Speaker 4: Okay, Romeo, these girls they're built different. There's something else crazy.
• 1:06:55
  Speaker 7: I'm scared.
• 1:06:55
  Speaker 10: Help me.
• 1:06:56
  Speaker 7: I have two and okay, I have I have a
• 1:06:59
Speaker 7: seven year old, sleetest little girl ever angel, and I
• 1:07:04
Speaker 7: have a twelve year old. I don't know who.
• 1:07:06
Speaker 5: Hurt her, but she's hurting all of us.
• 1:07:11
Speaker 3: Really wake her up.
• 1:07:12
Speaker 7: I have to wake her up, Romeo, for school in
• 1:07:15
Speaker 7: the sweetest way, like good morning, beautiful, it's gonna be
• 1:07:19
Speaker 7: such a nice day, you know, like trying to start
• 1:07:22
Speaker 7: off right, and it's wrong.
• 1:07:25
Speaker 1: That is wrong. You should wake her up like my
• 1:07:27
Speaker 1: mom used to wake me up. Get your ass up.
• 1:07:30
Speaker 2: You're good. You missed that bus. It's gonna be your
• 1:07:32
Speaker 2: ass because I got drinken.
• 1:07:33
Speaker 7: This was my first that was my first way. That
• 1:07:36
Speaker 7: was the way I would wake her up, and oh
• 1:07:38
Speaker 7: my god, it was hell for everybody.
• 1:07:40
  Speaker 10: And now hard.
• 1:07:41
Speaker 1: No, you gotta see, I'm gonna say this and this
• 1:07:45
Speaker 1: is why I think that, you guys, it's harder for
• 1:07:49
Speaker 1: girls today is because back in the day, most parents
• 1:07:54
Speaker 1: kind of treated their girls like their boys and kind
• 1:07:57
Speaker 1: of treated them both the same way when it came
• 1:07:59
Speaker 1: to certain sense. They didn't really entitle them when it
• 1:08:02
Speaker 1: came to some of the basics of life.
• 1:08:05
Speaker 2: And nowadays it's changed.
• 1:08:07
Speaker 1: I think that, Yeah, I think you moms and dads
• 1:08:11
Speaker 1: need to step up your game.
• 1:08:12
Speaker 7: Yeah, honestly, I don't remember being like that when I
• 1:08:15
Speaker 7: was that age, and I and I tell my mom my, mom.
• 1:08:17
Speaker 4: Would stay blacker, you know exactly.
• 1:08:21
Speaker 10: And yeah, I just.
• 1:08:25
  Speaker 1: I just I think here's what I think, And this
• 1:08:27
Speaker 1: could be completely wrong. I think boys still have a
• 1:08:31
Speaker 1: fear of their parents to a certain extent.
• 1:08:34
Speaker 2: I don't think girls do it all anymore. Now that's
• 1:08:38
Speaker 2: that's over, you know.
• 1:08:40
Speaker 1: I just think the way society has changed over the decades,
• 1:08:44
Speaker 1: that girls don't have that same fear as boys still
• 1:08:47
Speaker 1: do of their parents. And I'm not saying and I'm
• 1:08:52
Speaker 1: not saying you got to touch your kids. I'm just
• 1:08:53
Speaker 1: saying there is an installed fear that and we know
• 1:08:58
Speaker 1: it because we're still afraid of ours to an extent,
• 1:09:00
Speaker 1: even though they're old and we could whoop their ass.
• 1:09:02
Speaker 1: We're still afraid of them to an extent. And so
• 1:09:07
  Speaker 1: I just don't think. I think girls that's that's lost.
• 1:09:10
Speaker 1: They don't fear their parents at all anymore.
• 1:09:12
Speaker 7: But you know what, Romeo, even with that little ass
• 1:09:14
Speaker 7: with them, it's like it's nothing to them. Now. You say,
• 1:09:18
Speaker 7: give me your tablet, give me your eyes, want to
• 1:09:20
Speaker 7: give me all that? My god?
• 1:09:22
  Speaker 2: Oh man, you.
• 1:09:26
Speaker 7: I don't the door for you matter if you don't
• 1:09:29
Speaker 7: call John down that street, that homeless.
• 1:09:32
Speaker 2: You up, Oh god, holding that sign, If.
• 1:09:36
Speaker 7: That's what you're gonna do, that's where you're gonna end up.
• 1:09:39
Speaker 7: So yeah, it's hard hard, And I give it to.
• 1:09:42
Speaker 4: All those parents right now raising teens because it's wrong
• 1:09:46
Speaker 4: where I went wrong, and I'm paying for it right now.
• 1:09:48
Speaker 1: You didn't go wrong yet. You just you'll get it together,
• 1:09:51
Speaker 1: don't worry you all right, you'll figure it out.

Speaker 2: All right, you'll figure it out. I mean.
• 1:10:01
Speaker 1: They'll figure it out already. Four two four or seven seven?
• 1:10:05
Speaker 1: Would you send me here, yo, Romano? Raising kids is
• 1:10:08
Speaker 1: only hard as you make it doesn't.
• 1:10:11
Speaker 2: Matter boy or girl.
• 1:10:11
Speaker 1: The younger generation having kids is worried about being friends
• 1:10:15
Speaker 1: with their kids before being parents. That's why they think
• 1:10:18
Speaker 1: it's hard because when they try and discipline their kids,
• 1:10:22
  Speaker 1: they don't listen. Yeah, I think that's a fair, a
• 1:10:27
Speaker 1: fair statement to make.
• 1:10:28
Speaker 2: I do believe that.
• 1:10:30
Speaker 1: I mean, I never my parents were never trying to
• 1:10:33
Speaker 1: be my friends. But to be fair, we didn't have
• 1:10:37
Speaker 1: a lot in common. You know, my parents and I,
• 1:10:41
Speaker 1: me and my mother and father did not have a
• 1:10:43
Speaker 1: lot of common until I grew up and got older,
• 1:10:47
Speaker 1: and now we do have things in common and we
• 1:10:49
Speaker 1: do get along very well. We always got along real well.
• 1:10:51
Speaker 1: But they were always the parent. What they said goes,
• 1:10:54
Speaker 1: And you're right, there is some there is some abalidity
• 1:11:00
Speaker 1: to what you're saying about trying to be somebody's friend.
• 1:11:03
Speaker 2: You know, in this whole idea of.
• 1:11:06
Speaker 1: Remember growing up, when it was your parents' house, their
• 1:11:10
Speaker 1: rules were, you had to abide by their rules. You
• 1:11:14
Speaker 1: didn't have any say in the house because well, and
• 1:11:17
Speaker 1: you're right, this is not gender biased. You didn't have
• 1:11:20
Speaker 1: any rules in the house because you didn't pay the bills.
• 1:11:22
Speaker 1: How many times you remember hearing that from your mom
• 1:11:24
Speaker 1: and your dad. You don't pay nothing for this house.
• 1:11:26
Speaker 2: You get what you get. Now, you got to a.
• 1:11:29
Speaker 1: Point where you're making four dinners for three different people
• 1:11:32
Speaker 1: because you know, back in my day, you ate what
• 1:11:35
Speaker 1: your mom made or you did not eat.
• 1:11:37
Speaker 2: It was that simple. It was that black and white.
• 1:11:40
Speaker 1: I guess a lot of people today, I guess think
• 1:11:42
Speaker 1: that's wrong. It's not wrong, you know, So I guess
• 1:11:45
Speaker 1: you're right. You're trying to be a friend. You're trying to,
• 1:11:48
Speaker 1: you know, let your kids have an opinion when they're
• 1:11:52
Speaker 1: too stupid to or uneducated on the issue, but you're
• 1:11:56
Speaker 1: still going to let them have an opinion about it. So, yeah,
• 1:11:58
Speaker 1: you're right, trying to be trying to treat your kids
• 1:12:01
  Speaker 1: like friends. That's a.
• 1:12:04
Speaker 2: You might be right about that.
• 1:12:05
Speaker 1: I don't think you can discount what you just said
• 1:12:07
Speaker 1: already four two five.
• 1:12:08
Speaker 2: Four seven to seven yo.
• 1:12:11
  Speaker 10: Rome.
• 1:12:12
Speaker 1: You were talking about what's harder raising boys or girls
• 1:12:15
  Speaker 1: or what's easier?
• 1:12:16
Speaker 2: Raising boys is way easier. I got one.
• 1:12:18
Speaker 1: Example for you. I have a son who is nineteen
• 1:12:22
Speaker 1: years old. He got his car at sixteen. He has
• 1:12:26
Speaker 1: never gotten lost coming home, always figured out how to
• 1:12:30
Speaker 1: get home, and with GPS, how do you not know
• 1:12:33
Speaker 1: how to get home? My daughter yesterday called me not
• 1:12:38
Speaker 1: really sure where we live now? She's sixteen years old,
• 1:12:42
Speaker 1: just got her license a couple of months ago. I
• 1:12:44
Speaker 1: don't know where she went or how she got lost,
• 1:12:48
Speaker 1: but she has a car with GPS.
• 1:12:51
Speaker 2: I don't even know how that happens.
• 1:12:52
  Speaker 9: Rome.
• 1:12:53
Speaker 2: So yes, it's easier to raise boys.
• 1:12:56
Speaker 1: Oh my god, I will tell you something about getting lost.
• 1:13:05
Speaker 1: I Bakersfield is the first city I've ever lived in
• 1:13:10
Speaker 1: where I have met people that have lived her their
• 1:13:14
Speaker 1: entire life and have gotten lost driving around town. It's
• 1:13:18
Speaker 1: craziest thing, the craziest thing I ever seen.
• 1:13:21
Speaker 2: I have first time ever in my life. I've had
• 1:13:23
Speaker 2: that happen to me already fourteen, five, four, seven and seven.
• 1:13:26
Speaker 1: Although with GPS, nobody should ever get lost, right, all right,
• 1:13:30
Speaker 1: that's got it funny though It's not that.
• 1:13:34
Speaker 13: Jesse was up the time.
• 1:13:36
Speaker 10: I've just got back to the lot of state. I
• 1:13:37
  Speaker 10: have a plus.
• 1:13:38
Speaker 15: I saw about raging kids, Man, rage keys is hard.
• 1:13:41
Speaker 15: I I raised a lot of turkeys, animal the pigs,
• 1:13:44
Speaker 15: and it's a lot better than raking kids. And they
• 1:13:47
Speaker 15: act up there we have dinner. Got I do that
• 1:13:51
Speaker 15: with kids, man, they have more right there.
• 1:13:55
Speaker 2: Oh my god, Jesse.
• 1:13:56
Speaker 15: Lost away, man, you do it to do a hard
• 1:14:02
Speaker 15: time what you're in for, man, two year old collars
• 1:14:09
Speaker 15: doing time. It's a lot easier ray to animals, that

  Speaker 15: for living.
• 1:14:19

• 1:14:25
Speaker 2: he said, what are you in for? I took the

Speaker 2: iPad away from my six year old. You got six

  Speaker 2: months for that.
• 1:14:31
  Speaker 10: Hey, we'll talk, wrong, man, I think it's it's it's
• 1:14:34
Speaker 10: easy to raise girls.
• 1:14:36
  Speaker 4: Rome.
• 1:14:36
Speaker 10: You know, I got my six daughters, no boys. But
• 1:14:39
Speaker 10: one year I coached the boys team. And I'll tell
• 1:14:41
Speaker 10: you what I'm sure of that I had nothing about girls.
• 1:14:45
Speaker 10: These boys are top room. They complained, they cry, they
• 1:14:47
Speaker 10: whine about everything. Girl, they're ready to let's do it.
• 1:14:50
Speaker 10: Let's get it done.
• 1:14:53
Speaker 1: Maybe from an athletic standpoint, the boys the girls might
• 1:14:57
Speaker 1: be a little more compet and a little more But no,
• 1:15:02
Speaker 1: not in the real world.
• 1:15:04
  Speaker 9: No, I don't know.
• 1:15:05
Speaker 10: Wrong, but even out here like we both play.
• 1:15:08
Speaker 14: Like we go to the beach, roam, we go to
• 1:15:10
