- 0:00Speaker 1: So in my house, my my husband does all the
- 0:05Speaker 1: cooking and I do all the dishes.
- 0:08Speaker 2: It's it's our okay, dividing.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Up the chores.
- 0:11Speaker 4: Except when I'm too tired, No, I do them.
- 0:17Speaker 2: But occasionally something falls down into.
- 0:22Speaker 1: The garbage disposal that shouldn't be there, like a spoon.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Boon, spoon bottle, catspoon is sticking out.
- 0:30Speaker 1: So it's got to be something that falls all the
- 0:32Speaker 1: way down in and you don't know it's there until
- 0:35Speaker 1: you turn it on and.
- 0:36Speaker 3: You can hear it, Okay, a wine stopper.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And I cannot stick my hand.
- 0:45Speaker 4: In there because somebody's gonna come along and flip the switch.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Well, and this all this is Stephen King's fault.
- 0:52Speaker 4: So well, that night you had him over for dinner.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So in the book Firestarter, and for some reason, and
- 1:00Speaker 1: they have never put that, they've done a couple of
- 1:02Speaker 1: different Firestarter things. This has never been on screen. So
- 1:06Speaker 1: this is something that is in my mind just thanks
- 1:09Speaker 1: to Stephen King's words. There's a part in the book
- 1:14Speaker 1: where it's like in that there are characters.
- 1:16Speaker 2: That can do mind control and stuff.
- 1:18Speaker 1: And in one scene, this character is doing mind control
- 1:22Speaker 1: on this doctor and he tells him to go home,
- 1:26Speaker 1: put on his wife's underwear and stick his arm in
- 1:30Speaker 1: the garbage disposal and turn it on, and that's how
- 1:34Speaker 1: he dies.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Well, you're already wearing your wife's underwear.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's a very yeah, it's a very.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Vivid image.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Because why would anybody steer their hand in the garbage
- 1:52Speaker 1: disposal and turn it on? Now, obviously I'm not going
- 1:56Speaker 1: to do that, but I can't get over sick because
- 2:01Speaker 1: once you put your hand in there, you can't see
- 2:02Speaker 1: your hand anymore.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Like that.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It's it is it like a trust fall kind of thing.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Put in your hand?
- 2:09Speaker 3: All right, what about it?
- 2:11Speaker 4: So what do you do about it? What do you do?
- 2:13Speaker 3: Do you have someone else doing?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Well?
- 2:14Speaker 2: I should call Joe and say, will you come.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Come and put your hand in the garbage disposal?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Out of the But I mean it is a genuine
- 2:24Speaker 1: fear of like, I don't think I.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Can do it?
- 2:27Speaker 4: So what do you? What do you do?
- 2:28Speaker 1: But he wasn't around last night, so it happened last night,
- 2:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, okay.
- 2:34Speaker 2: My first thought was I'll just leave it.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And hope that next time he comes around and turns
- 2:39Speaker 1: it on, he can hear that there's something in there,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and he'll get it out.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I was and lose his hand.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I was a big girl, okay, And I reached in
- 2:49Speaker 1: and pulled it out and it was it was It
- 2:52Speaker 1: was a tab to like the you know, like the
- 2:56Speaker 1: top of that coke of that thing.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It had to be a diet coke, yeah, as a
- 3:00Speaker 4: matter of fact.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But I was very proud of myself because I've overcome
- 3:04Speaker 1: that is a huge fear of life.
- 3:06Speaker 4: So does that mean does that mean now you will
- 3:09Speaker 4: be able to reach into there if you need to
- 3:11Speaker 4: in the future? I just does that mean that you'll
- 3:15Speaker 4: uh that you'll go on a cruise ship? Now? I mean,
- 3:20Speaker 4: does that mean that you'll go into the ocean?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Now?
- 3:23Speaker 4: Does that mean that you'll eat something that is homemade? See?
- 3:27Speaker 3: And and Sue points out what I was going to
- 3:30Speaker 3: point out. Do you use tongs?
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah? I thought of that too.
- 3:35Speaker 3: You've got those toast tongues.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, that actually probably would work really well, it would.
- 3:40Speaker 4: But am I the.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Only person that thinks, even though I know I Am
- 3:43Speaker 1: not going to turn that on that maybe maybe the
- 3:46Speaker 1: thing in there yea is like wedged and that's what's
- 3:49Speaker 1: keeping it from moving.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And as soon as you stick your hand in.
- 3:51Speaker 4: There, you're probably you're probably not the only person who
- 3:55Speaker 4: thinks that. But you know, I would like you to
- 3:57Speaker 4: do me a favor and take an hour, take take
- 4:01Speaker 4: half a take a whole day, and write out a
- 4:04Speaker 4: list of your irrational fear Take them, take a month
- 4:08Speaker 4: if you need to.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Somebody's saying we should do an X poll about irrational fears. Sure,
- 4:13Speaker 1: I totally agree with Gina. I cannot stick my hand
- 4:15Speaker 1: in the garbage now.
- 4:16Speaker 5: If you're dying for that scene that you're talking about,
- 4:19Speaker 5: apparently it's in a Final Destination movie.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Oh, here we go, Gina. We can help you. Call
- 4:25Speaker 2: us Larson hvac Sean.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Will you let me get this tab out of my
- 4:33Speaker 4: I have an irrational fear. Actually it's it's weird. It's
- 4:39Speaker 4: not a fear necessarily. But if I see a cup
- 4:45Speaker 4: or something on the counter that I think is sitting
- 4:48Speaker 4: too close to the counter, to the edge of the
- 4:50Speaker 4: counter or or excuse slightly, I'll just kind of push it,
- 4:55Speaker 4: push it back a little bit.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That just seems smart.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Well, no, because it's not. It's really not. It's it's
- 5:02Speaker 4: not too close, but I I feel like it is
- 5:06Speaker 4: and that's because and that's irrational. I look at my
- 5:10Speaker 4: rational mind says, no, that's fine, it's not too close.
- 5:13Speaker 4: But my irrational mind makes me push it back a
- 5:16Speaker 4: little bit. I do that all the time with stuff that.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Just seems smart to me though, Like, yeah, you don't
- 5:21Speaker 1: want a glass to fall and shatter on the floor.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Do you have a drain strainer? No, it's the metal
- 5:28Speaker 3: cup with the holes. It goes over the garbage. Okay,
- 5:32Speaker 3: get one of those. Okay, yeah, that's the first. And also,
- 5:37Speaker 3: you know you really shouldn't put food in the disposal.
- 5:40Speaker 4: No, not much.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I shouldn't do anything, Carrie. You and I did an
- 5:43Speaker 1: ad about that twenty years ago. We were a husband
- 5:47Speaker 1: and wife, and I think I was getting that because
- 5:50Speaker 1: you were the dumb husband.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I was the dumb husband.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Hey, I'm just gonna put this down in the garbage?
- 5:55Speaker 4: What are you doing on?
- 5:56Speaker 3: That's that's the voice I did, well, the dumb husband
- 6:01Speaker 3: void Orry, honey, I can do that.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Well.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Maybe next time we have an ex pole, we'll do
- 6:08Speaker 2: it all.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Why why do we have garbage disposals? If you're I
- 6:12Speaker 4: used to put all kinds of stuff down there.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Now I don't well that we were sold a bill
- 6:17Speaker 5: of goods as.
- 6:18Speaker 3: It's as it turns out we were.
- 6:20Speaker 5: We were told, yeah, you can grind up the food
- 6:22Speaker 5: and it just goes right. No, it's just.
- 6:27Speaker 4: First time I had a garbage disposal. This is what
- 6:29Speaker 4: I did. We had artichokes for dinner, and you know
- 6:32Speaker 4: we have all those leaves. I put those leaves into
- 6:35Speaker 4: the garbage and you know what happened. It ruined the garbage.
- 6:39Speaker 1: By the way, lots of people texting in that their
- 6:42Speaker 1: worst fear is putting their hands. They said, if someone
- 6:46Speaker 1: else is even in the house, it terrified.
- 6:49Speaker 4: You're not alone. It's not a problem for me. My
- 6:51Speaker 4: hand's too fat to go in there.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Katie says that she dropped a shot glass in one
- 6:57Speaker 5: and so she had to pull the glass shards out.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I again, those strainers, you need those, and just you
- 7:05Speaker 5: really shouldn't even have a garnage.
- 7:07Speaker 4: And what are you doing drinking a diet coke over
- 7:09Speaker 4: the sink?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Well it wasn't It probably just fell in. I don't
- 7:13Speaker 2: know what happened.
- 7:16Speaker 4: You must have you you were messing around with a
- 7:18Speaker 4: diet coke over the sink. Probably was
