- 0:51Speaker 2: it now?
- 0:52Speaker 5: I am enjoying life, golf, holidays, moving house, do you
- 0:56Speaker 5: name it. So it's actually been quite a good time.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Plus it's suns came out and it's.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Actually of the golf course today because the time I
- 1:03Speaker 1: look at your Instagram, you're you're on it.
- 1:05Speaker 3: You will.
- 1:06Speaker 5: I wish Myndy caps going down the way but sneaking
- 1:10Speaker 5: up the way.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Have you got an official clanding.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Game twelve twelve point two?
- 1:15Speaker 2: So how did you find local woman?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Who was it tough? That was flying? I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I was nine over until the fifteenth hole and it
- 1:22Speaker 3: all went Persia.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I've only played it once, but the back nine I
- 1:26Speaker 1: was good to the term is it back n longer
- 1:29Speaker 1: the chick?
- 1:30Speaker 5: Yeah, but it was good day to be. It was
- 1:32Speaker 5: a day late today, so I can't complain. Good charity
- 1:34Speaker 5: night as well. For Deborah it was all good.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen you've done but charity before excellent, excellent.
- 1:40Speaker 1: She was recovering the.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Day slightly, yeah, slightly, son to be.
- 1:45Speaker 5: It wasn't too wild last year it was that was
- 1:48Speaker 5: a big one, but I knew.
- 1:50Speaker 2: People were coming to the last night then any.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Graham was there and it was Emma Dodds was there
- 1:56Speaker 5: as well a few others and stuff that, so it
- 1:58Speaker 5: was a good turn out. They made a couple hundred answers,
- 2:02Speaker 5: so it was good for the cause.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's good to have you on.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I think we'll go back to obviously your management, you'll
- 2:07Speaker 1: be wanting to get back into the as soon as possible.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I'd imagine are happy.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I'm quite happy now, I'm quite I know you have
- 2:15Speaker 3: to know.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Your badges and stuff, so obviously you're preparing. They are
- 2:19Speaker 2: united thing, you.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Know, no finish my proate. So so I'm literally.
- 2:26Speaker 5: So I'm watching the last legs doing it, so it
- 2:28Speaker 5: should seeing something.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Robbie Keane getting a job view as system.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Has everyone been through that It was over on about
- 2:37Speaker 3: two months ago.
- 2:38Speaker 5: A text Robbie saying, what's the chances popping over to
- 2:42Speaker 5: come in see because you have to do a broad experience,
- 2:45Speaker 5: see the culture and stuff like that. A different club,
- 2:48Speaker 5: so obviously everyone's then trying to put into the girl
- 2:51Speaker 5: I've left. Robbie's floating about and to be fair, he's
- 2:54Speaker 5: done a fantastic job and having a glassy as well.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Stephen glasses over there as well, so do you play me?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Steven put the.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Glass at hims Ay.
- 3:00Speaker 5: So it was great because me and Johnny Hayes both
- 3:03Speaker 5: went over because we were the last two to finish
- 3:05Speaker 5: this part of their pro licens. So it's obviously always
- 3:09Speaker 5: a lot of speed. But to be fair Robbies and
- 3:12Speaker 5: joining it, it's a different culture. It's so in their
- 3:16Speaker 5: training area they've got twenty one different sports. They're all
- 3:19Speaker 5: finished by one o'clock at night out next ones in
- 3:21Speaker 5: people walking about watching them train and watching them doing
- 3:24Speaker 5: their attacks.
- 3:25Speaker 3: On a Friday they were prepping for games and.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Saturday, who's taking penalties and that everyone's just standing about
- 3:30Speaker 5: watching it.
- 3:30Speaker 3: You so different. I frustrated it.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I think he quite enjoys it. It's a
- 3:36Speaker 5: lovely city as well. Like the heat prepare to Scotland
- 3:40Speaker 5: and England will be obviously ridiculous, but no, it was
- 3:42Speaker 5: a really nice place. It was good that we went
- 3:43Speaker 5: watching them in the semi final the Cup. They're in
- 3:45Speaker 5: the cup final as well and going all the way
- 3:47Speaker 5: in the league hopefully, so no fair play it was.
- 3:49Speaker 5: It was a good experience. Good to see how Robbie
- 3:52Speaker 5: and Glassy worked as well.
- 3:54Speaker 2: He's a few jobs over there.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Is that's something that would maybe be floating your boat
- 3:56Speaker 1: as well, going going abroad obviously topping up.
- 4:01Speaker 2: In Scotland all your days. Is that something that you
- 4:03Speaker 2: would look at, you know?
- 4:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I'd definitely be open to. I had opportunities,
- 4:08Speaker 5: especially later on in my career to go to Australia.
- 4:11Speaker 5: It was just probably just before COVID time, and the
- 4:14Speaker 5: probably the best thing I've ever done was no even
- 4:17Speaker 5: think about that decision.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So no, it would be good. I think it'd be
- 4:21Speaker 3: different culture and I'm.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Not sure how they would understand the Scottish at the
- 4:25Speaker 5: side of the park when I'm going mental, but that'd
- 4:28Speaker 5: be good experience, and it would be something never say exactly.
- 4:32Speaker 2: You've still got the bug anyway, good management.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Dred percent. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the day to
- 4:37Speaker 5: day routine and do you know, but I.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Think I was thinking about it going the way through.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Obviously we went straight into somebody yourself from playing first
- 4:48Speaker 1: period was good.
- 4:49Speaker 2: The first pick was a goods So then experiences, but
- 4:52Speaker 2: that was what five six you right, it was good
- 4:55Speaker 2: as well.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Loved that good challenge.
- 5:01Speaker 5: That's what happens straight to your door.
- 5:05Speaker 6: That only didn't you should have actually done a lot
- 5:10Speaker 6: better itself.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It didn't. He should it should have. I mean, I
- 5:13Speaker 2: think it scored.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He scored nineteen goals for US this season before, and
- 5:19Speaker 1: I thought it's all the attributes, but sometimes when you
- 5:21Speaker 1: got a bigger club, it's it's a pressure.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Really hit the ground on.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Naturally, better finisher, Yeah, and just probably quicker over the
- 5:32Speaker 5: first five yards as well with what he was. But yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 5: that's a good place. She was brilliant, good understanding again,
- 5:39Speaker 5: Gas was Gas was different. Guys was tricky and light
- 5:42Speaker 5: and leaning and stuff like that. But really nice guy.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Terrible golfer, but really nice. Gas played played golfy Gas
- 5:51Speaker 5: the old course.
- 5:53Speaker 3: So played the old course. So that his meshed to
- 5:57Speaker 3: guys and I can't even remember who else it was.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I said, I actually remember. And the first tea, guys
- 6:05Speaker 3: missus a ball when the first has pressure. Oh mate,
- 6:09Speaker 3: I was going pressure.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You've got the eighteenth. You can go anywhere wrong, can you?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Shore is so.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Wide, you know, like just going and anything. He's missed it.
- 6:18Speaker 5: And I'm lying on the floor. These guys behind me
- 6:21Speaker 5: right watch and I'm like, praise, tell me somebody's video
- 6:23Speaker 5: that just plays. And then he's on the seventeenth. We're
- 6:27Speaker 5: all buzzing to get into to go onto the eighteenth
- 6:31Speaker 5: as well. So we're sitting there and Gas goes to
- 6:33Speaker 5: go on Whippies driver. It is a woman caddy that
- 6:37Speaker 5: was just to the right hand side. I swear like
- 6:39Speaker 5: touch tight. He's like zip the past the divers and
- 6:43Speaker 5: she's like, I've never seen anyone slice of ball that
- 6:45Speaker 5: life before. So that was my experience to the guys.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Strew was about, SI, he's a good golf.
- 6:54Speaker 3: That's probably I've.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Played it twice ninety It's quite easy to it's.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Ten years later, I had a pot on the last
- 7:04Speaker 1: for an eight nine and I must get a night again.
- 7:06Speaker 5: So consistently average I played a few times. It's especially
- 7:14Speaker 5: for second seventeen eighteen. The other ones were all carry
- 7:18Speaker 5: mind what one was a hot but.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Of course.
- 7:21Speaker 2: The weather as well.
- 7:24Speaker 3: That's right on that coast. That's mental.
- 7:26Speaker 5: It could be one day the jets flying up and
- 7:29Speaker 5: Overdeo and everything. But when it is a nice day,
- 7:31Speaker 5: isn't there's no more. So we'll take you back then
- 7:35Speaker 5: football podcasting.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'll take you back obviously with a fantastic career. You've
- 7:42Speaker 1: won everything in the game domestically. Take you back to hims.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Can you remember obviously getting in there at at the beginning?
- 7:49Speaker 1: How did that all come about?
- 7:51Speaker 5: I signed an S one when I was thirteen fourteen
- 7:55Speaker 5: for him, so I got released through rangeer Celtic send
- 7:58Speaker 5: an S one and we'll know Lea but says I
- 8:01Speaker 5: was not going to get next season. Signed the restaurant
- 8:03Speaker 5: for Hibbs and it guaranteed me one year pro. And
- 8:06Speaker 5: I've got a pair of lovely Joe my boots. Mate swear.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Terrible the laces, mate, I swear like that. They were
- 8:14Speaker 3: so bad.
- 8:15Speaker 5: So that was my signing on fe for ribbs Well
- 8:18Speaker 5: and went in the first year and it was literally
- 8:22Speaker 5: straight in pre season and ran around the fort seating.
- 8:26Speaker 5: My whole thing was about running, getting after people. Sprinting
- 8:29Speaker 5: and pre season probably helped me, if I'm honest when
- 8:31Speaker 5: I first went in there, because at this point, just
- 8:34Speaker 5: sixteen and a half, I think it was I couldn't
- 8:36Speaker 5: wait to get to school. I was trying to like
- 8:39Speaker 5: dying on becoming a footballer, but I was tiny. I
- 8:42Speaker 5: was but like the side of five just before going in,
- 8:45Speaker 5: So went on worked quite a lot in the gym,
- 8:48Speaker 5: try to bull cup because I was going in twice
- 8:51Speaker 5: a week if I was then Friday when I was
- 8:53Speaker 5: at school to go and play with on the seventeens
- 8:56Speaker 5: and see playing against the lads there were so much stronger,
- 8:59Speaker 5: with a like shark and I was like, oh, there's
- 9:01Speaker 5: a big step for me to go there a good education.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Yeah I was a striker, you would believe it. And
- 9:08Speaker 5: they quickly realized that I wasn't a striker. So now
- 9:13Speaker 5: and then you get an opportunity. Hibs were struggling for
- 9:17Speaker 5: money to la Pey Sosis and Catelli's duck laymen good
- 9:22Speaker 5: players like that where it has letting them go because
- 9:25Speaker 5: of the obviously money raisins and stuff that myself, Tom
- 9:29Speaker 5: or Thoma was older, which was older Gaz and Deeck
- 9:32Speaker 5: had just made in the squad as well, so there
- 9:34Speaker 5: was a chance for other young ones to come in
- 9:36Speaker 5: and there was like me, Kevin o'neils. There was a
- 9:39Speaker 5: few that were maybe just a year below. So then
- 9:43Speaker 5: we got an opportunity to get some game time. Then
- 9:45Speaker 5: eventually Bobby was like, guy can run.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Bobby gave me.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Bobby was the daft guy that gave me a new
- 9:52Speaker 5: deal as well. He gave us opportunity to get the
- 9:55Speaker 5: first team, playing the first team. Then never really looked back.
- 9:59Speaker 5: But I started really well because I started as a
- 10:01Speaker 5: striker and I had loads of energy I got after
- 10:03Speaker 5: people causing.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Produce starting the first team as a striker.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Started in the first team as a striker, Me and
- 10:07Speaker 3: Deeps up front.
- 10:08Speaker 2: You can now join our YouTube channel.
- 10:10Speaker 6: There's lots on offer, there's qun A's available, there's tickets,
- 10:15Speaker 6: monthly shoutouts, behind the scene footage of our bloopers.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Only thirty five takes just to do this one little
- 10:27Speaker 2: clicking the link below click.
- 10:30Speaker 1: This episode is sponsored by Rosie mcguires and Cable Roig.
- 10:33Speaker 1: We're going to be there at Celtic Supporters Festival from
- 10:36Speaker 1: June the fourth to the seventh, myself, Jackie, who else.
- 10:40Speaker 6: Peter Grant, Joe Miller, Alan Thompson and Tommy Johnson And yeah,
- 10:47Speaker 6: the link is in a description and back to the
- 10:51Speaker 6: episode said yeah.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Running even there run.
- 10:55Speaker 5: It was a no trackie backet run for it was
- 10:59Speaker 5: me and Gas, so the Gas and Tam mc manus
- 11:01Speaker 5: the two strikers the day at the game. So we
- 11:04Speaker 5: played Abodeen at home and they both got injured. So
- 11:07Speaker 5: Deeks went on first. I can't of remember what one
- 11:09Speaker 5: came off, and then I came on and it was
- 11:12Speaker 5: now now and me and Dixy ended up. Dick scored too,
- 11:15Speaker 5: I scored one, and from there we ended up playing
- 11:17Speaker 5: two strikers. I think Bobby at the time, for jeez,
- 11:21Speaker 5: we've actually found another striker to throw into that part.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Then eventually really really quickly realized he's maybe no striker
- 11:29Speaker 5: Chuck come out there, because then I went from striker
- 11:32Speaker 5: right one, and then I went he can't really crossed
- 11:34Speaker 5: the ball or beat a man right mid Then eventually
- 11:38Speaker 5: with Tony and that I found my position in the
- 11:40Speaker 5: middle of the parat So yeah, loads of good people
- 11:43Speaker 5: at homes at the time as well.
- 11:45Speaker 2: The help come out.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You mentioned the five coming through. Obviously it helped a
- 11:49Speaker 1: groupie is coming through at the same time.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Yeah, there was, to be fair, there was a lot
- 11:52Speaker 5: more FLETX was coming through. It was a gay a
- 11:54Speaker 5: couple of hours there and thereabout as well. So we
- 11:57Speaker 5: had a good young squad and we're had no money
- 12:00Speaker 5: to bring players in. You had Mikey Stewart that was
- 12:03Speaker 5: there that played, You had Stephen Glass. It was older
- 12:05Speaker 5: experience pro that helped everyone out. You had roll On
- 12:09Speaker 5: Dedge and a couple of or some kind of a
- 12:12Speaker 5: good divide like with young king lads and a couple
- 12:15Speaker 5: of older ones that had been never done it and understood.
- 12:17Speaker 5: So it was it was a really good dressman. To
- 12:20Speaker 5: be fair, I probably still speak to most of them.
- 12:23Speaker 5: It is it is good for us, like everyone together
- 12:25Speaker 5: because a young Scottish lads draft. I was in a
- 12:28Speaker 5: flat with keV Thompson at the time and he moved it.
- 12:35Speaker 5: So no, it was it was a great experience because
- 12:38Speaker 5: like we played the train together and then straight afterwards,
- 12:41Speaker 5: we're going to playing pool, We're going to do everything.
- 12:43Speaker 5: He ended up having a great bond, which was really
- 12:46Speaker 5: really good.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of less pressure as well for he's coming
- 12:48Speaker 1: through as well. When it's if you're coming through it together,
- 12:51Speaker 1: it's you can bounce off each other.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I think the first couple of games, when you come on,
- 12:55Speaker 3: you have that excitement you have on this is the game.
- 12:59Speaker 6: You play that before We've got to play Barcelona mid
- 13:02Speaker 6: week and you were about I don't know if it
- 13:04Speaker 6: was the one that Bobo got sent off.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Were you studied me and you you you said to
- 13:10Speaker 3: me in a couple of other boys.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Said I'm going to You're not going to camp you
- 13:15Speaker 6: and when I'm going to break your leg and I'll
- 13:18Speaker 6: get them there's a few years. No, he's fucking mine,
- 13:21Speaker 6: I'll get I actually quite liked that about you, you know,
- 13:25Speaker 6: coming through young boys, going to seeing you senior players.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I'm going to break your leg that you know. Tom
- 13:33Speaker 2: broke your ankle, just.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Look at my Sorry, the shoulder back was a wee
- 13:38Speaker 5: bit later later I dislocated Tom's shoulder.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Back after that, So there was another one. You thought
- 13:44Speaker 2: I was trying to do you. Is it Sheltic Celtic?
- 13:46Speaker 5: No, oh my god, mate, somebody sent me on Twitter
- 13:52Speaker 5: know that long ago, So I asked that Celtic part
- 13:55Speaker 5: one bright Yellow.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You gave me Bobo. I've got the as I could.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Said I didn't catch.
- 14:04Speaker 3: You or didn't know you didn't do but I said
- 14:06Speaker 3: he caught and I was done. You should see the tackle.
- 14:09Speaker 3: His legs are up higher than his body.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Nasty sneak.
- 14:15Speaker 6: That's the best way to be though, But I don't
- 14:18Speaker 6: see that game. That was like he finished three one.
- 14:22Speaker 6: He tooke away through the corner, didn't you. And that
- 14:25Speaker 6: was the game that Bobo was going.
- 14:27Speaker 2: To kill Stillion after it, Lenny changing him.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Honestly, Little Tomo jumped in the cupboard. Tomo just typical Tom,
- 14:36Speaker 6: but it was actually Lenny had started it. Lenny started gaining.
- 14:39Speaker 6: Bobo is you're walking in like fucking defend and I'm
- 14:43Speaker 6: to be fair, I would normally say it would be
- 14:45Speaker 6: Bobo's fault. I was quite critical of bobouse that everybody
- 14:49Speaker 6: was holding him back for he threw John Robertson over
- 14:54Speaker 6: the treatment. He didn't be three, but he can fly
- 14:57Speaker 6: right over. And I was sitting right across I used
- 14:59Speaker 6: to sit just as you come into changing room and
- 15:02Speaker 6: big john SOUTI rab or try to stop them getting
- 15:06Speaker 6: too stillion and be still and just kept chopping away.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Fucking do your job, bobo, fucking defend. It was like
- 15:11Speaker 6: the Hulk and Martin that I would trying to stop
- 15:14Speaker 6: when you were killed.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Him, you know, stopping him. I told us the story
- 15:18Speaker 5: I had done a Q and away rather a couple
- 15:20Speaker 5: of weeks ago. I was talking about that. He was like, honestly,
- 15:21Speaker 5: it's the one of the scary.
- 15:23Speaker 6: A big, massive scream and he booted something and he
- 15:27Speaker 6: went away at the changing room. Maybe he threw at
- 15:29Speaker 6: the shower area and the door like slammed behind him.
- 15:33Speaker 2: They were just in shock.
- 15:35Speaker 6: And then STILLI and start doing inks to him, went
- 15:37Speaker 6: through to try and speak to him. He told him
- 15:39Speaker 6: to get to fuck you know, fuck off Cillian. He
- 15:42Speaker 6: was still going to kill him, but he was. He
- 15:44Speaker 6: would have honestly ended him if you got a hold
- 15:47Speaker 6: of him. There did you score at that time? He
- 15:52Speaker 6: was the last man to end us.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Done well getting close.
- 15:56Speaker 3: That's when I had pay. They wanted to be kind
- 16:03Speaker 3: of get the grander spot on.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Then obviously you get to Celtic then two thousand and seven, Yeah,
- 16:10Speaker 2: two thousand and seven, was that any of that team
- 16:13Speaker 2: still in.
- 16:13Speaker 5: The dist you would have been still and Lenny no both,
- 16:18Speaker 5: so Lenny had it was a cup final against the Fella.
- 16:20Speaker 5: That was Lenny's last game and I came in after
- 16:23Speaker 5: just after that, so there was no stand to be
- 16:27Speaker 5: first going literally gone. But then it was like Lee, Naela,
- 16:32Speaker 5: Big Elvis was there, Wolves good player to lovely big
- 16:37Speaker 5: Yan was there was special though Jesus and and he's
- 16:43Speaker 5: big guy Marcas.
- 16:46Speaker 3: We interpreter Marca and Ka. It's so good.
- 16:51Speaker 5: I taught you have to talk to you had to
- 16:53Speaker 5: talk to like Naca and Marca to speak to Naca,
- 16:56Speaker 5: to speak to come back.
- 16:58Speaker 3: How does he rate?
- 16:59Speaker 1: Because I've spoke to a few guys that try to
- 17:02Speaker 1: think who it was might have been deep recently talking
- 17:06Speaker 1: about Knack and Mory and they're saying one of the best.
- 17:08Speaker 2: And now does he rate because you've played there.
- 17:10Speaker 5: For so long, probably one of the first ones to
- 17:16Speaker 5: be in the gym beforehand doing no like lifting weights
- 17:19Speaker 5: and stuff that, but stretching like yoga and stuff that
- 17:22Speaker 5: way before anybody else was really doing it. Come in,
- 17:25Speaker 5: do his training straight back into the gym doing yoga man,
- 17:28Speaker 5: and you're like looking at the guy gone right, you
- 17:32Speaker 5: can see why he's bud like that, and we're probably
- 17:35Speaker 5: talking about where we're going later on at night and
- 17:37Speaker 5: stuff that.
- 17:38Speaker 3: So it was different as well because.
- 17:40Speaker 2: The standards for you is the Jews. Look at him, right,
- 17:44Speaker 2: I think he was when.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I first went in.
- 17:46Speaker 5: There was loads of good pros like Elvis and stuff
- 17:48Speaker 5: that was there as well, so there was a lot
- 17:50Speaker 5: of really really good lads in there, but Naka was
- 17:52Speaker 5: the one that probably everyone kind of went like, he
- 17:55Speaker 5: lives his life inch perfect, his body fat, never changes,
- 17:59Speaker 5: his diet are changes, the size and never changes, and
- 18:01Speaker 5: he's always there and there.
- 18:03Speaker 3: About for training.
- 18:04Speaker 5: So everyone starts to foot things together, going maybe look
- 18:07Speaker 5: after herself a little bit better than you'll be more
- 18:09Speaker 5: like nk You end up like Macca.
- 18:13Speaker 7: It's one of the lover because it ended up plenty
- 18:16Speaker 7: of well, probably still playing now, still still having three
- 18:20Speaker 7: kicks through the car one days and stuff like that.
- 18:22Speaker 2: One didn't he So how did you find your transition?
- 18:25Speaker 1: Because you've obviously then went through through Hibbs with a
- 18:27Speaker 1: group of boys that you knew and all of a
- 18:29Speaker 1: sudden You're at Glasgow Celtic.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Dikes was there, was there, Dix was there, Chris Killing
- 18:35Speaker 3: was there.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Cut from all your faces in the dress room.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Obviously I knew Autumn, but.
- 18:42Speaker 2: With them all, that's what I'm saying, you played.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Would you walk in there and think I better be
- 18:48Speaker 5: nice to these guys and like Dazz a day, Like
- 18:52Speaker 5: even the game before, I fought with Lenny two weeks before,
- 18:54Speaker 5: and Lenny was the first person when I walked in
- 18:57Speaker 5: when I signed, he was the one that I met.
- 19:00Speaker 3: She's like, oh no, here we'll go.
- 19:02Speaker 5: So but everyone was brilliant because like me and Daz
- 19:05Speaker 5: had I was playing right at three at that point
- 19:07Speaker 5: of time, and Daz was playing left back and I
- 19:10Speaker 5: just kept running and smashing das right and Daz's mouth
- 19:13Speaker 5: was giving me.
- 19:14Speaker 3: My mouth was given Daz it. It was brilliant.
- 19:16Speaker 5: And then he's what walked in. I was like, well,
- 19:22Speaker 5: even like Aidan as well. Aidan was technically the best
- 19:24Speaker 5: player and the team yeah at the time, right, and
- 19:27Speaker 5: I used to try smash Aiden all the time because
- 19:29Speaker 5: obviously my whole head was if I can stop and
- 19:33Speaker 5: then help us, And then in training sessions are like
- 19:36Speaker 5: he's all right for you, and he's good lad, good player,
- 19:39Speaker 5: and you end up playing alongside him, having like loads
- 19:43Speaker 5: of fond memories as well, how well we're done, especially
- 19:45Speaker 5: Champions League at that point at the time as well.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I think football does that as well, at the relationships
- 19:50Speaker 1: in football, because he would have been playing against you.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and recognize your quality and your talent.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Now keep him off the ball after the little tackle.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Is it Celtic? Now he's going to part of our team.
- 20:00Speaker 2: So I think football kind of covers.
- 20:02Speaker 5: All that kind of it's good because like you go,
- 20:05Speaker 5: I say to everyone, see, you could be whoever you want.
- 20:07Speaker 3: You really can't.
- 20:08Speaker 5: You could be a good guy off the part, right,
- 20:09Speaker 5: you could be really really See if you go in
- 20:11Speaker 5: that park and you're a good guy, you're gonna get.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Beat literally, So you have to go in there and
- 20:15Speaker 3: be a nasty bastard and you have.
- 20:17Speaker 2: To have that from the start, from youngster in there.
- 20:22Speaker 2: That would be better probably Do you just learn quickly?
- 20:27Speaker 3: Nah?
- 20:28Speaker 5: I loved winning, and I always taking it home when
- 20:31Speaker 5: I get beat and gone moods and stuff that. But
- 20:34Speaker 5: I was I'm a bubbly character away from it. But
- 20:37Speaker 5: then see as soon as I went in the dress
- 20:38Speaker 5: room and stuff that, I was like, I need to
- 20:40Speaker 5: get myself focused. But I hated school, right, but I
- 20:43Speaker 5: needed I know, like whenever a manager talked or whenever
- 20:45Speaker 5: somebody else spoke, My whole thing was I had to
- 20:48Speaker 5: like make sure I concentrated because what goes on in
- 20:52Speaker 5: here is nothing prepared to do. And a manager talking,
- 20:54Speaker 5: I'm like, right, lockdown, got you, I know what you
- 20:57Speaker 5: need me to do, set players on the board, whatever
- 20:59Speaker 5: it is. I've done my job.
- 21:01Speaker 3: And that's what.
- 21:02Speaker 5: See, if something went to me you didn't do your job,
- 21:05Speaker 5: I'd be like, start to think what you're do in Scotland,
- 21:07Speaker 5: you know, doing this proper. So I did overthink things
- 21:10Speaker 5: like that, but in a good way, I think, and
- 21:13Speaker 5: it helped benefit my career and it helped benefit my
- 21:15Speaker 5: game as well. So that's probably the best thing that
- 21:17Speaker 5: I probably takes.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It's funny as obviously you're sitting here with the hair
- 21:21Speaker 1: and you've got this alter ego that goes onto the pitch.
- 21:24Speaker 2: People probably see that different side.
- 21:26Speaker 1: You probably think anytime I've met you've played a couple
- 21:29Speaker 1: of Foundation games with you in a totally different character.
- 21:33Speaker 1: It's just obviously for that ninety minutes. I've played the
- 21:36Speaker 1: guys like that as well.
- 21:37Speaker 3: You just have to be partly violent.
- 21:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you can do what you want for nineteen minutes
- 21:41Speaker 5: and you don't want to fight bubble after it.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I'd have been doing the exact same as what.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Did you play the Bobo?
- 21:50Speaker 3: No? I did die, so you know what I mean?
- 21:55Speaker 3: What about size?
- 21:56Speaker 5: He studs, mate, I swear used to like every in session,
- 22:00Speaker 5: take them out and replace some of the rugby ones again.
- 22:03Speaker 3: And they were about that size, and he wore them
- 22:05Speaker 3: in training.
- 22:06Speaker 6: He wore them in the Felin's astrasage. I had to
- 22:08Speaker 6: be fair studs all the time, and Astro never won moldies.
- 22:12Speaker 6: I could never trust myself to plant my foot and
- 22:15Speaker 6: go and plus if you stand on somebody's tables, but he.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Would if you were in front of him and training
- 22:20Speaker 2: and they're just walk coming up.
- 22:22Speaker 3: He played, he trained, away played. He was one of
- 22:24Speaker 3: them that.
- 22:25Speaker 5: Yeah, as you were united when he broke his leg
- 22:29Speaker 5: when he's made the tackle up at Tannadise, because I
- 22:33Speaker 5: can't ever met it was was that just before? It
- 22:36Speaker 5: was that about two thousand and eight, a bit before
- 22:39Speaker 5: was it a bit because he's Gordon had Steve McManus,
- 22:45Speaker 5: Gary called with a few others, ended up getting a
- 22:47Speaker 5: couple of injured Bobos came in and Bobos brilliant defensively right,
- 22:51Speaker 5: but I like bubbleding up and playing. He was no
- 22:54Speaker 5: interested in that at all. But he's man of the match,
- 22:57Speaker 5: Man of match, man of the match three games in
- 22:59Speaker 5: a row. Now got to turn of this and goes
- 23:01Speaker 5: to try and smash somebody, ends up breaking his own
- 23:03Speaker 5: life and it studs caught.
- 23:05Speaker 1: The I remember playing against him and it was a
- 23:10Speaker 1: big vargam and that Sheeltic park. Oh, I hated it
- 23:14Speaker 1: against use your size and you're talking about the studs.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I think Varga had the same studs on his boat
- 23:20Speaker 1: boat and he's righting my toes.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Oh no, this is all the big prince of darkness.
- 23:25Speaker 6: They battled as that day as well. Think it was six.
- 23:29Speaker 2: All of a sudden you played it Celtic in your nose,
- 23:31Speaker 2: pour and five and then you receiving ended.
- 23:33Speaker 5: That was nice, no grave on that. I felt that
- 23:38Speaker 5: a couple of times as well. We've got pumps seven
- 23:42Speaker 5: maybe six it he got sent off, yeah, in the game,
- 23:46Speaker 5: and then we just got battle.
- 23:47Speaker 3: But we ended up in a back ten. It's it's
- 23:50Speaker 3: never nice night.
- 23:51Speaker 2: But the def for never tackling was tackling me.
- 23:55Speaker 6: I think that.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Any when you tell me York and never played the.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Signed him for York and and he loved to read
- 24:08Speaker 6: the weird Apartment, just running for the stadium, and Dekes
- 24:10Speaker 6: was right across from you, right, and this is how
- 24:13Speaker 6: good he is, un are And it was a boxing
- 24:17Speaker 6: match was on.
- 24:17Speaker 2: It was like midnight.
- 24:19Speaker 6: He text him, you just ordered that pizza, see you work,
- 24:25Speaker 6: come and watch the boxing match. Just ordered pizza and midnight.
- 24:29Speaker 6: He isn't even hiding it isn't even try to get
- 24:32Speaker 6: him fit.
- 24:32Speaker 5: And Friday before they give the Saturday relegation and all
- 24:36Speaker 5: that into the boxing.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Did you go? So I would decided God greater ability,
- 24:46Speaker 3: But I.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Remember, yeah, that is what I was going to say.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So we were in the office with the chairman at
- 24:52Speaker 1: York and he held a Derek from You're seeing us
- 24:55Speaker 1: and if he can get this, we'll show his goals
- 24:58Speaker 1: on YouTube. And every goal was better the next one
- 25:00Speaker 1: of the last one, top corner, top call. He could
- 25:02Speaker 1: finish for fun and the chims like, right, well, we'll
- 25:06Speaker 1: take him.
- 25:06Speaker 2: But unfought.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It was getting on a wee bit decks and he's
- 25:09Speaker 1: fitness wasn't even it should have been. But my god,
- 25:11Speaker 1: that video tail we could finish.
- 25:14Speaker 2: He hip telling it.
- 25:15Speaker 6: He was the same weight, the same weight as when
- 25:17Speaker 6: I was playing back at absolutely rested.
- 25:20Speaker 2: But the kidney couldn't. He wasn'ty fit. Especially he's getting
- 25:25Speaker 2: pizzas at midnight.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Followed on Instagram, your phone's Chinese Chinese.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Well he gets and he must go at the training,
- 25:40Speaker 1: I mean the boys training. He's got a fish supper
- 25:42Speaker 1: in the carbon Bruins sauce over what a guy.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Basically he is a great lad.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I think he said you were in court. Well Jesus, yeah.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It wasn't that good.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Lest So we obviously a lot of top football, of course,
- 25:59Speaker 1: but I did text you before you keep one and
- 26:03Speaker 1: mentioned a little bit of music, which she replied was
- 26:05Speaker 1: maybe not.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Yeah, these are not going to enjoy my music strength
- 26:10Speaker 5: Ni dance though, like Scoot and proper dance music night.
- 26:14Speaker 2: So that's you.
- 26:15Speaker 3: That's my go to.
- 26:16Speaker 5: So if I'm in a car, I'm going somewhere. I
- 26:20Speaker 5: don't mind listening to podcasts, right, but I quite enjoy
- 26:23Speaker 5: just call the music on and the louder the music gets,
- 26:27Speaker 5: the better it gets for a special see when they're
- 26:29Speaker 5: driving back and forthy it what must have been?
- 26:31Speaker 3: What must be like this?
- 26:33Speaker 2: Did you travel with Elvis Federer?
- 26:37Speaker 3: Like the music?
- 26:38Speaker 2: So I used to call him mister dead you trouble
- 26:42Speaker 2: for Edwin.
- 26:43Speaker 6: When I was me and you and we can leave
- 26:45Speaker 6: billowing in the Elvis and we take turns each to
- 26:48Speaker 6: drive to stolen We'll be trained. I used to call
- 26:51Speaker 6: him mister dead. And I used to program my iPod
- 26:54Speaker 6: and every song was about being dead. It was dead
- 26:59Speaker 6: or alive, living, kicking big. I was just sitting in
- 27:02Speaker 6: the back of my mark. And then the last song
- 27:05Speaker 6: we got and we got there to the training groom
- 27:07Speaker 6: was dead man walking to Bruce Springsteen. He's hearing now
- 27:10Speaker 6: he's laughed that big laugh, very funny actually like he's
- 27:20Speaker 6: a little bit different to the rest of him.
- 27:22Speaker 2: He's utilementum and its quite lasting. Did you but you
- 27:29Speaker 2: in controlling the direst room of the music? Is that one?
- 27:31Speaker 5: And we had like music set times when we're going
- 27:34Speaker 5: out and stuff that it was like all the foreigners
- 27:37Speaker 5: like headphones on, I'm not listening to that with Amelia
- 27:40Speaker 5: Amelia listened to like previously, somebody reading the Bible and
- 27:43Speaker 5: stuff that he's gone this, no, I'm going no this
- 27:47Speaker 5: yes that no, and he's gone no this he helps me,
- 27:53Speaker 5: this helps me. But like quite a lot I'm just
- 27:57Speaker 5: ended up listening to their own music headphones on. But
- 27:59Speaker 5: we have big blaring as loud as we can.
- 28:03Speaker 2: These kind of a classic is a rave, those kind.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Of gigs I would die know in Scotland.
- 28:10Speaker 5: No, I don't know if that's again to be fair,
- 28:12Speaker 5: I been've been in the park and I shelticventful.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it was different. It's good fun.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Attacks when you get attacked.
- 28:24Speaker 3: A couple of times when I'm pining per per was
- 28:28Speaker 3: the problem is right? I love a bit of bar
- 28:31Speaker 3: I love music.
- 28:31Speaker 5: But see when people get so drunk they think that
- 28:36Speaker 5: it's like paying in cups and watching it on you
- 28:38Speaker 5: grabbing yeah, and too much. I see when it's like
- 28:42Speaker 5: loads of people in a tight area and no, no clusterphobic,
- 28:46Speaker 5: but I'm like what one's going to and when.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I try and stay clear of stuff that being sent
- 28:53Speaker 3: for the older age learning.
- 28:57Speaker 1: And again going back to your football as well, your
- 28:59Speaker 1: traveling through its was that a conscious.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Seff up to stay away because you away for Glasgow
- 29:05Speaker 3: travel fed. It's it's not about the drive, isn't it.
- 29:08Speaker 5: You were I was at Barrifield to start with the
- 29:10Speaker 5: first six months and then I went to Lenox. Lennox
- 29:12Speaker 5: time is even better because I was going the nine
- 29:15Speaker 5: halfy just need nothing. I'm going to Barrifield was a
- 29:18Speaker 5: wee bit harder, but I'm sure I made it.
- 29:22Speaker 6: Even the weather because I used to go through and
- 29:24Speaker 6: a pair of shots and the T shirt he gets
- 29:26Speaker 6: through there and the boys like that.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Scotching definitely Doesney Ray as much, I believe me. I
- 29:33Speaker 3: was like looking at the day rain glass. When you
- 29:38Speaker 3: get to.
- 29:40Speaker 5: It just changes and snowing and be snow But Lennox
- 29:42Speaker 5: time is the same. It's got many climate because of
- 29:45Speaker 5: you went next to the mountains and stuff. It's like
- 29:49Speaker 5: a weird different climate. So it was always colder driving.
- 29:53Speaker 5: You're always like, we're not saying.
- 29:55Speaker 2: We're better, but well it's only better played for the
- 30:00Speaker 2: Glasgow Club.
- 30:01Speaker 3: That was the best part of it, going in winning
- 30:04Speaker 3: games then get but to be fair for five so
- 30:08Speaker 3: I kind of proper scheme. Lovely place.
- 30:17Speaker 2: It was a stadium that I had never been to
- 30:18Speaker 2: the management path, never been.
- 30:22Speaker 3: What a bad stadium the track ring.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I think that's the only pitch that I could throw
- 30:27Speaker 2: the ball in at the penalty area.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Throwing Touchtown used to Craig Levine was a manager, say
- 30:34Speaker 5: what's say what? I was about fourteen at the time,
- 30:37Speaker 5: so we were I was at Cowden Beef Phabs, Strangers Celtic.
- 30:41Speaker 5: You just went around to that point in time. It
- 30:44Speaker 5: must have been about for thirteen and we were due
- 30:46Speaker 5: to play a cup final on the pitch. I had
- 30:48Speaker 5: to get abandoned because the two stock cars went flying
- 30:51Speaker 5: right over the pitch and the chapter went on pulled
- 30:53Speaker 5: them off right.
- 30:54Speaker 3: You just.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It just went even the changing rooms. I've never been there.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Have you played there? I've never been at it until my.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Five Cup or.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Something I played there.
- 31:10Speaker 5: It has played friends and all that quite a lot
- 31:14Speaker 5: at the start of the season and that it's it's
- 31:16Speaker 5: definitely experience.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I think the stock Carl rationing was coming on after
- 31:21Speaker 2: I left.
- 31:22Speaker 3: They're all sitting there red engines for everyone to get.
- 31:27Speaker 2: That's where the crowds were.
- 31:29Speaker 5: To be fair, that probably paid half the lads because
- 31:31Speaker 5: that brought him more fan based what anything else did.
- 31:35Speaker 3: So that's a nice big place to start with.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you're saying about the school thing. Where did you
- 31:42Speaker 2: go somewhere abroad to watch them? No, I will do
- 31:45Speaker 2: though you fancy that when making festivals.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Quite I quite like a festival if it's sunny, no wind,
- 31:52Speaker 5: the camp in the rain and not being able to
- 31:54Speaker 5: have a shower and freeze on it. It's no for
- 31:57Speaker 5: me that but to go and to go to a
- 31:59Speaker 5: festival the class to go abroad and just chill, relax,
- 32:02Speaker 5: and they try to video me.
- 32:04Speaker 3: And I'm having a pipe.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Another thing, that's the thing.
- 32:08Speaker 5: Dancing to scooter. I can't dance carry sign. So Bubble,
- 32:16Speaker 5: you've done festivals.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I've done like you have the definite Oasis Oasis tee
- 32:23Speaker 1: in the park with you and it was raining and
- 32:26Speaker 1: the buddler and books and it was muddy up to
- 32:28Speaker 1: your knees from before we even got there. Transmit, I've
- 32:31Speaker 1: been in transmits Transmit a few years ago, but everybody
- 32:35Speaker 1: there was about thirty years younger on me.
- 32:37Speaker 2: A good time?
- 32:38Speaker 3: Did you go Oasis? Muddyfield? How good were Tuesday? Saturday?
- 32:45Speaker 3: Was a Saturday?
- 32:45Speaker 5: Was the first night I went straight after the game
- 32:47Speaker 5: straight there so good? Are you standing up sitting right
- 32:52Speaker 5: at the back. I got the tickets literally last bout
- 32:54Speaker 5: dot comt class class.
- 32:57Speaker 2: We're speaking about it before Lenny. Lenny was there on
- 33:00Speaker 2: the Tuesday night. They were just so good.
- 33:03Speaker 1: And I think that they're coming back next year as well.
- 33:04Speaker 1: I think they're going to do it well. I think
- 33:07Speaker 1: they're just going to tour again. William Let's slip on
- 33:10Speaker 1: Twitter if you can believe it, Williams. We touched it
- 33:14Speaker 1: el then Naki Mura, who's.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Your allowed you? Would you like to give us your
- 33:19Speaker 2: three best that you've played me in your career.
- 33:21Speaker 5: And your praise and just got to be up there.
- 33:24Speaker 5: And I loved Phraser and Afa two different characters and
- 33:29Speaker 5: goalies as well. Fraser was like proper pro turned dark,
- 33:34Speaker 5: make sure everyone looked unbelievable, and Afa.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Was half it was Alfa, but he was brilliant and
- 33:42Speaker 3: keep it. He had no fear.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I thought there as well. Though again I've been fortunate
- 33:47Speaker 1: enough to play a couple of times. It was totally different, different.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I assumed more child now. It was because he was
- 33:54Speaker 1: so polite, so quiet. I was like, I've held your
- 33:58Speaker 1: in my.
- 33:58Speaker 5: Head, but used to be but he's I think he's
- 34:02Speaker 5: like chilled that now quite calm football that sat to
- 34:04Speaker 5: people brings like you have the whole work the week
- 34:08Speaker 5: building up into the game, then you've got to explode somehow.
- 34:11Speaker 3: So most people exploding a Saturday Saturday night afterwards.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Someday and depending on who it is that Katy was
- 34:20Speaker 5: unbelievable and I was okay, see coming as a young
- 34:23Speaker 5: kid to go through and there's a picture of him
- 34:26Speaker 5: float about where him and you see the picture a
- 34:29Speaker 5: couple of weeks ago. I was back over and he's
- 34:32Speaker 5: kind of the kind of reenacted it as well. So
- 34:34Speaker 5: Katie was unlive. Carl's all about Prolo James as absolute
- 34:38Speaker 5: dream to play with, played with Robbie Keane. Robbie was
- 34:42Speaker 5: like a different level of sharpness and his movement was
- 34:46Speaker 5: so good and like a couple of things pop up
- 34:49Speaker 5: on Twitter and they come through and you see his
- 34:51Speaker 5: goal gets kill many bops in speed and we drink
- 34:54Speaker 5: over the goalie and just class minds with him. Even
- 34:57Speaker 5: Big Victor as well, when there was an apsolute machine,
- 35:02Speaker 5: Didney sprint? Kidney sprint because he was a bigger read.
- 35:05Speaker 5: But you couldn't get the ball from he was direct
- 35:08Speaker 5: good in the ball. They just had a bit of him,
- 35:11Speaker 5: even like people like Charlie as well go under the radar,
- 35:15Speaker 5: but Charlie we had all naps that wonder left as well.
- 35:18Speaker 5: And then you've got Joel led Ladies and people that
- 35:20Speaker 5: you can't even really it's hard to pick the top three.
- 35:23Speaker 2: You've been in that long though you've been through probably
- 35:25Speaker 2: two or three different I've.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Done match a lot of people. The more came and
- 35:28Speaker 3: for did to get rid of him.
- 35:30Speaker 2: You've seen so many the team's fully changed through the years.
- 35:34Speaker 3: And the style and god.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Game has changed so much, and all no being able
- 35:40Speaker 5: to go in the box to start wearing bulled doubt
- 35:42Speaker 5: and stuff that now everyone's in the box.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Buldings your thoughts on that. I quite like it.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Building for the back.
- 35:49Speaker 5: I prefer to drop in and play and see the
- 35:51Speaker 5: whole pitch, then just kick it as a fifty to
- 35:54Speaker 5: fifty if the ball goes high long to get it wrong,
- 35:56Speaker 5: as a time and a place you can go over
- 35:58Speaker 5: the press and you can be it. But about eighty
- 36:00Speaker 5: six percent build up, well, well, I hope we averaged it.
- 36:04Speaker 5: Fleetwood and Air we were about eighty six percent and
- 36:06Speaker 5: build up and play and it's a fifty to fifty
- 36:08Speaker 5: few pigs it long, So we tried to kind of
- 36:11Speaker 5: put that over to the lads. This is why we
- 36:13Speaker 5: try and do it. This is what because even in
- 36:16Speaker 5: championship you can play maybe know in the winter periods
- 36:19Speaker 5: you have to a lot bit more direct. The pictures
- 36:21Speaker 5: give up. But the year before it was loads of astrols.
- 36:25Speaker 5: It was five astros in the league, so every second
- 36:27Speaker 5: game as astro. So we were like the decent pictures
- 36:30Speaker 5: as well, so we're able to play on them and
- 36:31Speaker 5: a lot more, especially through the winter or something. Now,
- 36:34Speaker 5: I like the whole build up phase, understanding movement time
- 36:38Speaker 5: and the patterns and stuff. So that's it's going to
- 36:41Speaker 5: keep moving again. But now teams are going back to yeah,
- 36:45Speaker 5: kicking the ball along, put it in the box, long frown.
- 36:48Speaker 1: You watched it was a fantastic game with Paris and
- 36:51Speaker 1: Bayern Munich. But Paris put it in the corner from
- 36:53Speaker 1: the kickoff.
- 36:54Speaker 5: They did that a lot of the time, so they
- 36:56Speaker 5: literally just start and just rugby. Lennie done that Eyebrocks.
- 37:01Speaker 5: We were talking about that other day. I was, well,
- 37:04Speaker 5: I can't even remember. We'll talk there chatting away and
- 37:06Speaker 5: I was like, I remember he was like, oh, we're
- 37:09Speaker 5: at the semi final when he's Beatnall Cook. So he
- 37:14Speaker 5: came up with what do you think I was? He
- 37:17Speaker 5: was like Celtic part kick off. I was like, sorry, Eyebrox.
- 37:22Speaker 5: He was like, right in the corner, let's get after
- 37:24Speaker 5: and to be fair from that, eyebrocks. We got a
- 37:26Speaker 5: shot away after a minute in the game. So it's
- 37:30Speaker 5: going to change again. It'll come back and there'll be
- 37:32Speaker 5: teams that will stick to tree four three three. Teams
- 37:35Speaker 5: will go four four two four one three two three
- 37:38Speaker 5: five two as well, So it's all going to jump
- 37:41Speaker 5: back in and out. But you can see the physical
- 37:42Speaker 5: sides stronger. What people look for runners now and it's
- 37:47Speaker 5: all starts based, Like people are making signings now due
- 37:50Speaker 5: to how many touches you make, how many times you
- 37:52Speaker 5: can run, how many high intensity I can start that
- 37:56Speaker 5: you can handle teams.
- 37:57Speaker 2: It will be a bit more well, and not just
- 37:59Speaker 2: you the you're talking about guys are doing the cuff
- 38:03Speaker 2: like you.
- 38:04Speaker 5: If you look at Massive, he's not going to hit
- 38:08Speaker 5: He's not like an actual proper six and three inch
- 38:11Speaker 5: perfect athlete, but he's better than everybody else. So there's
- 38:15Speaker 5: always going to be people that Griffs was never going
- 38:17Speaker 5: to be that scored forty goals and ones and he
- 38:19Speaker 5: went against everything. Ronnie Diler's diet was well everything, Sorry,
- 38:23Speaker 5: Ronnie Diler's diet was for English breakfast in the morning
- 38:26Speaker 5: was loving life. Scored forty. There's no right way and
- 38:31Speaker 5: the wrong way to do it. It's what's best for
- 38:33Speaker 5: teams and individuals. And that now the players are getting
- 38:37Speaker 5: signed from computers. You just go like, oh, Jackie's bed
- 38:42Speaker 5: four hundred tackles this year. You've passed the ball forward
- 38:45Speaker 5: once when I'm signing new Jackie. So there's small things
- 38:49Speaker 5: that it does help, but he's still I think there's
- 38:52Speaker 5: a big because like the movement like he stand behind somebody,
- 38:58Speaker 5: like receiving it in the back through past the ball
- 39:00Speaker 5: at time, what's that goes and understands that our safe
- 39:04Speaker 5: side paths or yeah, where you are as well for
- 39:07Speaker 5: you to go and drive beyond somebody as well, it's
- 39:09Speaker 5: just natural.
- 39:10Speaker 3: Then goal scoring.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Everyone needs goal scores, so that's what it's going to
- 39:13Speaker 5: go back to four four two, and they're so hard
- 39:15Speaker 5: to find as well.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not there's not much coming through.
- 39:19Speaker 1: To be honest at the moment, striker wise, I've always
- 39:22Speaker 1: been amazed that likes a Celtic and Rangers.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Haven't they just strikers and.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Sean was probably the last one Celtic Sean played wants
- 39:33Speaker 5: to be fair Rangers name back. Actually no, it's hard
- 39:37Speaker 5: to break through. It's Celtic and Rangers because the lads
- 39:41Speaker 5: that are coming through, it's hard for the manager to go.
- 39:44Speaker 5: I can trust you unless you he knows one hundred
- 39:47Speaker 5: percent he's going to put you in like James. But
- 39:50Speaker 5: you trust James all the along because he's still probably
- 39:52Speaker 5: the best one out at the club. Is they can
- 39:54Speaker 5: go both ways. He's direct and he looks like he
- 39:58Speaker 5: always wants the ball and to go and in the
- 40:00Speaker 5: front foot, which which now kind of frowned upon, to
- 40:04Speaker 5: go and beat a man and whip up on the box.
- 40:06Speaker 5: James came on Cup final, semi final whips them on
- 40:10Speaker 5: the box and then.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I know and it gives sheltered empty there as well,
- 40:14Speaker 1: because that game is running away through silted back the
- 40:16Speaker 1: extra time, I thought, where's the goal coming from?
- 40:18Speaker 2: As you say, just put a ball in the box.
- 40:20Speaker 5: It causes problems at times Goalie Disney know whether to
- 40:23Speaker 5: come and get you goalie the actually because.
- 40:27Speaker 2: The center backs now no used to dealing with crosses,
- 40:30Speaker 2: don't ever in front of them and.
- 40:33Speaker 5: You know, rather than turn them or hard because even
- 40:37Speaker 5: kids now you know to do too much heading with them.
- 40:40Speaker 5: You know, the head before the day before the game
- 40:43Speaker 5: and stuff that even the first team levels you kind
- 40:45Speaker 5: of put on your doing set plays because you're going
- 40:47Speaker 5: to you have got to head the ball. But then
- 40:49Speaker 5: if you can't do it a Friday when you're going
- 40:51Speaker 5: to do it, it's like that's the last point of time.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Make sure you work on that so everyone knows what
- 40:56Speaker 5: they're doing and you're going into a game. You've got
- 40:58Speaker 5: to put your head on the line and understand the
- 41:01Speaker 5: trying to look after people on that, but you still have.
- 41:03Speaker 3: To defend it.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I know it's such a huge part of the game
- 41:06Speaker 2: as well.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Always kind of husband, but it's a sign of the
- 41:10Speaker 1: times in as well as you say safety, yeah, safety, but.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I think.
- 41:17Speaker 2: It's just one of the ones where you're looking for
- 41:20Speaker 2: a bit more excitement. I always think it was. There
- 41:22Speaker 2: was a bit on the game. I'll get back to
- 41:23Speaker 2: that game last night.
- 41:24Speaker 6: It was it's always James Is because he's that's always
- 41:28Speaker 6: been his game, taking people on it, whereas most of
- 41:31Speaker 6: them now and scared to take somebody a mistake, make
- 41:35Speaker 6: a mistake and they go back and back before you notice,
- 41:38Speaker 6: back at your goalie and it's a pet.
- 41:41Speaker 5: You take a throwing and acting yardbooks and you end
- 41:44Speaker 5: up going all the way back to just I'd rather
- 41:48Speaker 5: you just gave the baby. In that era, try to
- 41:50Speaker 5: beat somebody trying to be directed something cut in the box, and.
- 41:53Speaker 2: He actually changed the whole training.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Remember it.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Takes to pass it back and pass it all back
- 41:59Speaker 2: and chaining.
- 42:00Speaker 3: It was a freekick. We tried that as well. It
- 42:02Speaker 3: goes into the game to pass it back and coming.
- 42:10Speaker 1: That's my That is that a part of the game
- 42:14Speaker 1: when you get into management that frustrates you because obviously
- 42:17Speaker 1: it's obviously say that you can change things on the pitch,
- 42:20Speaker 1: you can prep them like that, you can set up training,
- 42:23Speaker 1: and then one minute of the game they're doing the opposite.
- 42:25Speaker 3: To me, that's I think that's the hard thing.
- 42:28Speaker 5: I think I've probably done that to managers as well,
- 42:32Speaker 5: because they're probably telling you things and making sure it's
- 42:34Speaker 5: strolled into all week and then you go into a
- 42:35Speaker 5: game and it's maybe the one and you end up
- 42:36Speaker 5: passing the ball back to hapcause it's safe at so
- 42:40Speaker 5: I think that's a it's a comfort thing than people.
- 42:43Speaker 5: But my pet hate is the first going there there.
- 42:46Speaker 5: I don't pay the way back to him. It's a
- 42:48Speaker 5: good but the thing is the center half can clear it,
- 42:51Speaker 5: or the fullbacks can clear it, and you're passing it
- 42:53Speaker 5: back to the door.
- 42:55Speaker 3: They are near as good on the ball. Isn't what
- 42:57Speaker 3: anybody else is, and that is what is.
- 43:01Speaker 5: It's one of those ones that does frustrate you, but
- 43:03Speaker 5: you need to try and play as much as you can.
- 43:05Speaker 5: I get that and play in there half, but there's
- 43:07Speaker 5: a time and a place to come back around the
- 43:09Speaker 5: press and to go forward. But yeah, I hate when
- 43:11Speaker 5: the goalie's got sixty seventy touches of the boggain.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Especially when I try to roll well studs over it
- 43:16Speaker 2: like the forest keeper. Then try to really studs over it.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Gave it back to the keeper before we let you go.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Title race Celtic all the way.
- 43:28Speaker 5: I think for the double now, especially Celtic, I think
- 43:32Speaker 5: the biggest result of the weekend. Yeah, obviously mother Will's
- 43:35Speaker 5: huge perhaps keeps digging in. He does actually keep digging.
- 43:39Speaker 5: I actually really liked that. I've got so much time
- 43:42Speaker 5: for him. He is actually really good dad and.
- 43:44Speaker 2: He's ohs and everybody's kind of said the box, I'm
- 43:50Speaker 2: still there.
- 43:50Speaker 3: You just think it is Gary Linark are going to
- 43:52Speaker 3: wear his boxes.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Stephen Thompson that was deleted for spits, so getting the winner.
- 43:59Speaker 3: We can lad to be Fairs defended well.
- 44:03Speaker 5: Actually a good job with them over on, especially going
- 44:07Speaker 5: down to nine men and still being hard to like.
- 44:09Speaker 3: The first goal is lucky. It's an on going the guy.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Off, the boys try to get back into the box
- 44:16Speaker 6: and this weekend is a bit but you know, Hearts
- 44:20Speaker 6: Rangers Monday half five on a Monday.
- 44:24Speaker 7: I think Celtic played first again. I think it's a
- 44:27Speaker 7: big going beat perhaps Easter. It's not going to be easy.
- 44:31Speaker 7: I want to be because you can see how well
- 44:32Speaker 7: they defended. Yeah, I know they're missing.
- 44:34Speaker 5: I don't know if Grant's back, but he's a huge
- 44:37Speaker 5: myster them as well, and they're nice and solid. Hearts
- 44:42Speaker 5: kind of played into the hands of we whipping balls
- 44:44Speaker 5: into the books.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Was just happy.
- 44:45Speaker 6: Just think next week Celtics kind of I think struggled
- 44:48Speaker 6: this season is killing teams off when they've been in top,
- 44:51Speaker 6: getting that fourth.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Have always done it in the past. I've always last
- 44:55Speaker 2: couple of games and.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Then they go again.
- 44:59Speaker 5: Say, as long as I keep winning, it doesn't he
- 45:01Speaker 5: always have to be pretty. It's this is a stagetty.
- 45:06Speaker 5: You've got to make a mental seasons because the thing is,
- 45:10Speaker 5: if Martin's still there the whole time, probably no losing
- 45:14Speaker 5: the five or six games Nancy kind of lost in
- 45:17Speaker 5: the leagu's done.
- 45:18Speaker 3: It literally is done and you're like, well done.
- 45:20Speaker 5: But now that kind of period gave everybody probably a
- 45:25Speaker 5: chance to get back into the title racing.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Dell's jumped right on the chances that and winning games.
- 45:29Speaker 5: And yeah, to be fair, I like the way the
- 45:31Speaker 5: players will style good shape about them as well, and
- 45:34Speaker 5: they've got good brag and stuff, and the brag is
- 45:38Speaker 5: really good. Shanks just being in formed as well is
- 45:43Speaker 5: exactly what so we definely in the middle of the
- 45:47Speaker 5: park as well. Started to grow onto that position, I
- 45:50Speaker 5: think a wee bit more, and played against him a
- 45:52Speaker 5: couple of times. I always thought it was a wee
- 45:53Speaker 5: bit naive. I always thought he's going to dive in,
- 45:55Speaker 5: try and smash and you knew it was coming. Now
- 45:58Speaker 5: see when he's playing against yourself.
- 46:00Speaker 2: We try to do Aberdeen trying to get even again.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Or cous growth.
- 46:08Speaker 5: For Aberdeen, it's to be a good tackle for it's
- 46:12Speaker 5: a great tackle. Then what was right back? So the
- 46:15Speaker 5: ball gets my head.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Mind? His name.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Celtic.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Okay, we'll wrap it up with We always get a
- 46:27Speaker 1: recommendation from a previous guest. This one was Darren Coyle,
- 46:31Speaker 1: comedian and it's a film, a song in an album.
- 46:35Speaker 1: So he's went for Heat is a film with picturing
- 46:39Speaker 1: in de Niro Famiar that Dave punk Tron Legacy, which
- 46:44Speaker 1: I think is the soundtrack of that film.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Is it the idea? And the way here?
- 46:51Speaker 2: You might no listen to this one the way Home
- 46:53Speaker 2: Elton joins Sacrifice.
- 46:55Speaker 3: I like Elton John.
- 46:56Speaker 5: I like the eighties as well, right I do. I
- 46:58Speaker 5: can jump in between all different styles of music and that.
- 47:02Speaker 2: So that was his recommendation.
- 47:04Speaker 4: So for your recommendations, if you get three happy Gilmore
- 47:07Speaker 4: good one musket No, the second one terrible, the first
- 47:13Speaker 4: one unbelievable.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Can you do happy?
- 47:16Speaker 5: But it's not going to go down the middle music, Scooter,
- 47:22Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie, absolutely love you put a tune
- 47:26Speaker 5: on logical song.
- 47:28Speaker 2: So when I was listening that to be through, one
- 47:30Speaker 2: of the boys had a song Celtic one.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Of the Scottis and class class good tune to be
- 47:35Speaker 5: fair bouncy as well and what was the.
- 47:38Speaker 3: Other part that I need to do?
- 47:40Speaker 2: Album?
- 47:41Speaker 3: Scooter album, can it Tellian album, Show Your.
- 47:48Speaker 2: L It's coming back in the same records for forty years.
- 47:57Speaker 6: They're coming back in four four two four two is
- 48:00Speaker 6: coming back down. The fourth Man playing fourth because they
- 48:04Speaker 6: get battle of reelm dread of it. When everyone's gone
- 48:07Speaker 6: to shows, you swings around.
- 48:09Speaker 2: One day I'll be back playing.
- 48:14Speaker 3: The Foundations walking.
- 48:17Speaker 2: It's been absolute pleasure met thanks for Kingank you very
- 48:19Speaker 2: much back
