- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to Couples Counseling with Chelsea, And I'm here
- 0:03Speaker 1: with three of my friends.
- 0:04Speaker 2: They are not a couple. They're a threatle.
- 0:07Speaker 1: They're not romantically involved either. There are three comedians named
- 0:10Speaker 1: Amina Amani, Sydney Washington, and Marie Fouston, and I spent
- 0:14Speaker 1: some time with them in Whistler and heard a lot
- 0:17Speaker 1: about their beef, so I thought I would bring them
- 0:19Speaker 1: onto the podcast. What are your thoughts, ladies on dating
- 0:23Speaker 1: somebody's ex boyfriend or ex girlfriend?
- 0:25Speaker 2: How do you feel about that? Oh, we don't do that.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I don't like anybody that my friend's like, no one bit, no,
- 0:30Speaker 2: thank you.
- 0:30Speaker 3: I don't even like the people that I used to like,
- 0:32Speaker 3: So why would I like your trash? Yes, so one
- 0:36Speaker 3: hundred percent I agree with like, I'm not even interested.
- 0:40Speaker 3: I feel like even if somebody looks their way or
- 0:43Speaker 3: I'm like, oh no, that's off the options for me.
- 0:46Speaker 3: But I feel like as I'm getting older, I see
- 0:48Speaker 3: a lot of women friends and it's just like, oh,
- 0:50Speaker 3: where you're married, now you moved on. Why can't I
- 0:54Speaker 3: date your eggs? Y'all don't know, y'all don't see that, or.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Y'all not together no more on that.
- 1:00Speaker 3: We were friends after y'all were together, So that don't
- 1:03Speaker 3: have nothing to do with me.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Well, me and Sydney were talking about this woman.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Her friend had went through chemo and passed away, and
- 1:10Speaker 3: when her friend died, she was like, Oh, the way that.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Her husband was treating her in the hospital. I noticed that.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And now now she's with the eggs they married. Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 2: to me, that's crazy, Like, that's crazy. Enjoy your love.
- 1:26Speaker 3: But to me, I just that's to me, that's weird.
- 1:29Speaker 3: So what y'all are y'all talking about her? Y'all y'all,
- 1:31Speaker 3: y'all reminiscing. Okay, but this isn't some additional info that
- 1:35Speaker 3: might change your mind.
- 1:36Speaker 2: She's seventy seven, does.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Ye? Well?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah? How old is the guy? Probably around that eighty.
- 1:45Speaker 2: But that's why I'm saying. I feel like as you
- 1:47Speaker 2: get older, the rules change. That's what it seems like. No,
- 1:50Speaker 2: that's weird. That's weird.
- 1:52Speaker 3: You guys have been friends for solo. You've seen so
- 1:54Speaker 3: many times, and then you saw me when I had cancer. Baby,
- 1:57Speaker 3: now you want my man.
- 1:58Speaker 2: That's weird. That felt like you've been blocking the whole time.
- 2:02Speaker 3: That means she was showing up to the cancer treatment
- 2:04Speaker 3: with like a good cat eye and her butt look good,
- 2:08Speaker 3: and she was like, oh, let me.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Brush your three hairs across your forehead. Yeah, I mean
- 2:13Speaker 2: the man is her heirloom.
- 2:15Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Listen, she was gonna take her shot out jewelry he
- 2:20Speaker 2: left wi Yeah, up for grabs. I'm glad. All I
- 2:26Speaker 2: know is I'm glad I'm gay.
- 2:27Speaker 3: And so we never have to worry about that with
- 2:29Speaker 3: the girls over here because you know they're very straight.
- 2:32Speaker 3: But I feel like even being friends with exes, I
- 2:35Speaker 3: don't really play that like that's that's my boundary too.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Like I just feel like if I met.
- 2:40Speaker 3: This person from my friend and they are no longer connected.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I hate when people continue friendships.
- 2:47Speaker 2: That is disgusting to me. That isn't just like ridiculous.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Also, I go in now with friends that have exes,
- 2:53Speaker 3: and I go in with like, just no once, this
- 2:55Speaker 3: is a wrap, this is a rep.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But also when they don't even know the person that well,
- 2:58Speaker 1: they met them one time at a dinner that you
- 3:00Speaker 1: had for they're hanging out.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And I'm like, wait, that was I just next.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Her, like after six years and you don't even know
- 3:07Speaker 1: her and you're hanging out with her. You continue like
- 3:10Speaker 1: I have this one guy every my friend's boyfriend. Every
- 3:13Speaker 1: time I hook up with someone on vacation, he stays
- 3:16Speaker 1: in contact with the guy that I hook up with
- 3:18Speaker 1: on vacation.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I'm like, why why are you remaining in contact with
- 3:22Speaker 2: these one night stands that I've had? That's a Pepine,
- 3:25Speaker 2: don't do that. It doesn't make any sense to me.
- 3:27Speaker 3: But if people people out there that's like that, they
- 3:30Speaker 3: will stay connected.
- 3:31Speaker 2: They'll be hanging out, they'll be inviting.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Them to the group check, coming to the events, and
- 3:35Speaker 3: you just be sitting there, like, do you think I
- 3:36Speaker 3: want to see this person again?
- 3:39Speaker 2: If I say bye? You gotta say bye. Well, I'll say,
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'll say that.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I feel like I'm the opposite of your friend, Chelsea.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Once my friend is done with somebody, that person is
- 3:49Speaker 3: dead to me. And Sidney can attest to this, because
- 3:52Speaker 3: Sidney got exits that I was like, well, I don't
- 3:55Speaker 3: we were done with them, And then Sydney still talks
- 3:58Speaker 3: to them, and I'm like, I've always said that he died,
- 4:01Speaker 3: So funeral for that person, girl, The resurrection is easter.
- 4:06Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying is good for it. She
- 4:09Speaker 2: keep everybody around. I know that is hard.
- 4:11Speaker 1: That is hard when you pitch about somebody and then
- 4:14Speaker 1: we all and your friends all back you up and
- 4:16Speaker 1: are like, fine, fuck her or fuck him, and then
- 4:19Speaker 1: that person gets back together with the person. You're like,
- 4:21Speaker 1: wait a second, I'm the only one that's mad at
- 4:23Speaker 1: them anymore.
- 4:24Speaker 3: But I don't really bitch. I don't bitch about them.
- 4:26Speaker 3: If anything, I put it on beat, I'd be like, oh,
- 4:28Speaker 3: I was I messed up. I wasn't right. I wasn't
- 4:32Speaker 3: all the way there for the person. That's why this
- 4:33Speaker 3: didn't work out.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Okay, what are your thoughts on lending friends money? I
- 4:39Speaker 2: don't say. I don't do. I don't do money and friends.
- 4:42Speaker 3: You don't know. I mean like, I'll get you a meal,
- 4:46Speaker 3: I'll send you a little a little uber ride or something,
- 4:49Speaker 3: a little bag or a shirt. Like if I could
- 4:52Speaker 3: give it to you and just let you have it,
- 4:55Speaker 3: one hundred percent is yours. But if I can't, I'm
- 4:57Speaker 3: not a bank, I'm not a leander. Like I got good.
- 5:00Speaker 3: If I need a loan, chase b away. It's a
- 5:03Speaker 3: whole lot of lists of people that I can contact.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I just I think it's embarrassing too.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I just I don't.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I feel like I wouldn't even I've never asked you
- 5:11Speaker 3: all to borrow money. We've been friends for probably a decade.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I've never asked them to borrow money. No, No, I've
- 5:16Speaker 3: probably stolen money. I've stolen money from y'all.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Oh from the new Yeah, I forgot it's mine.
- 5:25Speaker 3: No, I'm like, how No, I'm just saying that's that's
- 5:29Speaker 3: how I am with my friends.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Like, I'll take it.
- 5:31Speaker 1: But I recently had a friend hit me up with
- 5:34Speaker 1: a voice memo asking me for one hundred and seventy
- 5:37Speaker 1: five thousand dollars.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Oh thousand dollars.
- 5:44Speaker 3: But that's why they didn't text it, because they said,
- 5:46Speaker 3: you're not screenshotting this voice memo.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Exactly as soon as I listen to it, you know,
- 5:50Speaker 1: it disappears right. I was like, oh, that's why you
- 5:53Speaker 1: said to in a voice memo told me that she
- 5:56Speaker 1: would have it back to me at the end of
- 5:57Speaker 1: two months, which is even more sk than just asking for.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You're not gonna add it too much.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But I have a long history of loading people money
- 6:07Speaker 1: and them never paying it back, but loading them without
- 6:10Speaker 1: the expectation, you know, when people are in trouble. But
- 6:13Speaker 1: this was the first time in my adult life that
- 6:16Speaker 1: I was like, absolutely not, that's ridiculous.
- 6:18Speaker 2: What's the most what's the most you've ever lent somebody
- 6:21Speaker 2: like twenty grand? Right, why don't we go ahead and
- 6:25Speaker 2: add you to agree? But yeah, I mean, but for me,
- 6:31Speaker 2: I think that.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I mean I've had a long history of just like
- 6:34Speaker 3: being bad with finances, but then I've also met people
- 6:37Speaker 3: who have been bad with finances, and it's just like
- 6:40Speaker 3: you put it, you put it in the zeigeis you know,
- 6:43Speaker 3: if somebody if you can do it, and you can
- 6:45Speaker 3: and it helps them and then they eventually you know,
- 6:48Speaker 3: pay it back, that's amazing. But like, you know, what
- 6:51Speaker 3: is what is money if it's on right terms. I mean,
- 6:54Speaker 3: obviously there's people are sketchy in they're they're out there
- 6:58Speaker 3: using you and they're not coming from a good late.
- 7:00Speaker 3: But if somebody was down and out and like I
- 7:03Speaker 3: had it, I had abundance of it, I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 3: this is my good friend. But if it's on the
- 7:09Speaker 3: terms where like they say they're going to pay it
- 7:11Speaker 3: back and then they don't, then it's like I hope
- 7:13Speaker 3: you know that twenty thousand dollars. It's worth our friendship
- 7:16Speaker 3: because then I can't mess with you no more because
- 7:18Speaker 3: you're not.
- 7:19Speaker 2: On your word.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and I've definitely when I was coming up and
- 7:22Speaker 1: had no money, I definitely borrowed from a lot of people,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and I always paid people back because I was very
- 7:27Speaker 1: I always knew, like Marie that I would be successful
- 7:31Speaker 1: and I would do well. But for some reason, I
- 7:33Speaker 1: found the one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars in
- 7:37Speaker 1: such a stabbering sum to.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Ask someone for that.
- 7:41Speaker 3: That's more than that's more than most American salaries, Like what?
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is also someone I haven't seen in
- 7:48Speaker 1: several years, you know, I mean coming through on a
- 7:50Speaker 1: voice memo.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I was several year.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, we taxed sometimes, but we're not like close.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And I just I just couldn't get over it, and
- 7:58Speaker 1: I was I actually.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Realized that diference between me.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Now.
- 8:01Speaker 1: First of all, my business managers would never allow that
- 8:04Speaker 1: anymore because they know my history of being too generous
- 8:07Speaker 1: to people without asking enough questions, so they would actually
- 8:10Speaker 1: make someone sign a contract or something.
- 8:12Speaker 3: But you know, oh, oh that's good a contract.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I offered her that up.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I said, if you want to go through my business managers,
- 8:20Speaker 1: you're going to have to do some paperwork with them.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And then immediately she's like, I'm offended by that.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Oh, but.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I don't believe did she what does she need the
- 8:31Speaker 3: money for? Let's was she starting like a lash business?
- 8:35Speaker 1: I mean, it's all very shady, It's all. It just
- 8:39Speaker 1: felt shady right away. I was like, this isn't right,
- 8:42Speaker 1: This isn't how you ask for that either.
- 8:44Speaker 3: No, you haven't heard from her in a while, did
- 8:46Speaker 3: she Well, did she hit you with a like a.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Preliminary hey, friend, Like, did she text.
- 8:51Speaker 3: You to kind of like massage it in there?
- 8:54Speaker 2: No? No, she's brutally Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I have a question about drama, because I'm sure there's
- 9:06Speaker 1: lots of drama between the three of you.
- 9:08Speaker 2: How much drama is too much drama? And when is
- 9:11Speaker 2: when do you have to draw the line with the
- 9:13Speaker 2: level of drama.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Let me tell you what Sydney and Amina drama is.
- 9:16Speaker 3: We go out, we're having a nice time, we all
- 9:19Speaker 3: look great. Sidney will say something about Amina something, Amina
- 9:24Speaker 3: will say something back about Sidney something, and then they
- 9:27Speaker 3: just start roasting each other and everyone's laughing or no, no, no,
- 9:31Speaker 3: they're laughing at each other.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Everyone else is like, oh wow, they thought to fight?
- 9:38Speaker 2: Are they fight?
- 9:39Speaker 3: Right? And it's just like to me, it just feels
- 9:42Speaker 3: like low blow after low blow after low blow, and
- 9:45Speaker 3: I just listen and laugh. But because I yeah, I'm
- 9:51Speaker 3: too sensitive for that, and I'm Forrie, you're to the sensitive.
- 9:55Speaker 3: If someone said something about me the way that y'all
- 9:58Speaker 3: talk about each other, I I'm too sensitive for that.
- 10:01Speaker 3: That's when I'll be brutally honest. I can't y'all. Y'all
- 10:05Speaker 3: are like y'all will say.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Things and I'm like, oh oh oh.
- 10:10Speaker 3: It was like she's a mother and I mean it's
- 10:11Speaker 3: like she's on a house and I'm like, oh my,
- 10:16Speaker 3: like we do go go. And I thought it was
- 10:19Speaker 3: cool until one that she called me and she was like,
- 10:21Speaker 3: this week, I can't do this back and forth with
- 10:23Speaker 3: you would be there And I was like, first of all,
- 10:26Speaker 3: I was you started every time and now you no,
- 10:31Speaker 3: I do not accordially to put out your own message, liar.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's like sixty forty Sydney. I think it is.
- 10:40Speaker 3: It's one hundred percent like for the most part out come,
- 10:43Speaker 3: I'm chilling I'm vibing, and then here go Sidney saying
- 10:46Speaker 3: something that now I gotta I gotta pull out my guns.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Every week is different, but I do.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Remember she hit you up and said, I can't do
- 10:52Speaker 3: this with you this week, and then I want to say,
- 10:54Speaker 3: the next time I saw y'all together.
- 10:55Speaker 2: She started it.
- 10:57Speaker 3: No, she started it, and then I said, I thought
- 10:59Speaker 3: we was off this week, and I took like a
- 11:01Speaker 3: little few less blows than she did.
- 11:03Speaker 1: But what do you think it is between the chemistry
- 11:07Speaker 1: between you two, because I've seen you guys do it
- 11:09Speaker 1: and it is shocking, you know, I mean, especially for
- 11:12Speaker 1: people who are around you who aren't comedians, they.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Must be like, what the fuck is happen Meina, we
- 11:17Speaker 2: gotta slow down. In my family, I'm not gonna lie.
- 11:22Speaker 3: That's that's a love language of ours, like dragging each other,
- 11:25Speaker 3: like anything that I'm excited or happy about, Like with
- 11:28Speaker 3: my sisters, I'll come, I'll send them a picture and
- 11:31Speaker 3: like they'll congratulate, but like underneath it'll be a whole
- 11:34Speaker 3: tagging of like what I'm wearing.
- 11:36Speaker 2: With my hair, where I was at, who I was with.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So it's just in my family, that's just that's kind
- 11:41Speaker 3: of like a love language thing that we just go
- 11:43Speaker 3: back and forth dragging each other. Just I mean, keep
- 11:46Speaker 3: you humble, I keep sending me humble. I'd like to
- 11:48Speaker 3: say one thing I come first of all. First of all,
- 11:52Speaker 3: I have a low armun I be. I be low
- 11:54Speaker 3: most of the time. Amina stays coming in on a fout,
- 11:58Speaker 3: so her energy she you already be on defense because
- 12:01Speaker 3: you're like, well, what is she about to say?
- 12:03Speaker 2: And then you know she did her capitaling and something
- 12:05Speaker 2: about that.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Be like, oh my god, let me put the pause
- 12:08Speaker 3: up because I know she's about to say something.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie though.
- 12:10Speaker 3: It keeps me, it keeps me sharp. I will say that.
- 12:12Speaker 3: That's why I think. I think that's why I like
- 12:14Speaker 3: doing it, because it's like I know something, you're gonna
- 12:17Speaker 3: come through with the with the left hook, and now
- 12:20Speaker 3: I gotta come back.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So yeah, I can see in the gym. Yeah yeah,
- 12:23Speaker 2: it's just a gym. It's to work out.
- 12:25Speaker 3: It's an open mic against like I guess our emotions
- 12:29Speaker 3: or I don't know what it is that we do.
- 12:30Speaker 3: But I look at Amna as a sister, and whenever
- 12:33Speaker 3: we're doing it, I think I rarely be like, damn,
- 12:38Speaker 3: you took it too far.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Like once in a while, we did take it too far.
- 12:41Speaker 3: One time, remember when you were standing over me asking
- 12:43Speaker 3: me to pay you a vemo. I wanted to punch
- 12:45Speaker 3: you in your face because I was like, girl, it
- 12:47Speaker 3: ain't never day. I'm not gonna send you your money back.
- 12:50Speaker 3: And she was like, she was like, pull your phone
- 12:52Speaker 3: out and send it to me now.
- 12:53Speaker 2: And I'm like, are you serious right now? So you
- 12:55Speaker 2: took it too far. You're having a hard day.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Friend was, but you took it too far with that
- 13:00Speaker 3: coud sis. You don't have no problems them won't requesting
- 13:03Speaker 3: somebody for five dollars.
- 13:04Speaker 2: So there's that, and you've done that, and then do
- 13:08Speaker 2: and don't. I don't know how I am.
- 13:10Speaker 3: I am very particular about money. That's why I don't
- 13:12Speaker 3: do friends with money. And they also we go out
- 13:14Speaker 3: and it's thirty three dollars and sixty cents. Please do
- 13:16Speaker 3: not send me thirty three dollars. Honestly, you on my
- 13:18Speaker 3: list for that.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Thirty three dollars and sixty cents. You want the SI
- 13:23Speaker 2: you round it down. You need the round up. You
- 13:26Speaker 2: need the round now, you need to round up to
- 13:27Speaker 2: one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars. Yeah, that's exactly right.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And that's all for this week with Amina, Sydney and Marie.
