Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get right
• 0:06
back to the Pam Bondi interview with Congress. Question with
• 0:11
respect to that memos assertion that no further disclosure of
• 0:15
files would be appropriate or warranted, do you recall who
• 0:17
made that decision at the time that no further Epstein
• 0:20
file should be released? Answer? Can you point out where
• 0:23
you're reading that? Question? Sure, Down at the bottom of
• 0:26
the first page, there's just one sentence, and it says
• 0:29
the determination of the DOJ and the FBI that no
• 0:32
further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted. Answer. I can't
• 0:36
answer that other than that was in July, and we
• 0:39
had sought, meaning the Department of Justice to unseal in
• 0:43
July documents from courts in the Southern District of Florida
• 0:46
and Southern District of New York, and that was denied,
• 0:49
I believe by both judges the release of those documents.
• 0:53
Question if you know, would the Department have been aware
• 0:56
of the content of the three million or so pages
• 0:59
that we now have seen at the time that the
• 1:01
memo was written in July. Answer? I don't believe so.
• 1:04
Question okay, So that judgment about no further disclosure of
• 1:08
files would be warranted was made on a lesser understanding
• 1:12
of what the files were then as we sit here today. Answer, well,
• 1:17
clearly they did not know that there were three million
• 1:19
plus approximately three million pages of documents at the time. Question,
• 1:24
as far as you know, was that July memo written
• 1:26
informed exclusively within dj and the FBI or did the
• 1:30
White House have any role in crafting that memo? Answer?
• 1:34
I don't recall. Question. The month prior, in June, Elon
• 1:38
Musk had tweeted that time to drop the really big
• 1:40
bomb at real Donald Trump is in the Epstein files
• 1:44
and that's the real reason they have not been made public.
• 1:47
Did you have any conversation with any agency or administration
• 1:50
staff about the tweet? Answer? I'm not going to discuss
• 1:53
any conversations that I did or didn't have with the
• 1:56
department or administration. Question I think or conversations inside the
• 2:02
department I think have been discussed to a pretty good
• 2:04
extent here today. So is there some more nuanced to
• 2:07
that idea? Answer? No, question, okay? Is it that you
• 2:11
will not answer that particular question for the record? Answer?
• 2:15
Will you repeat the question? Answer, Yeah, that Elon Musk tweet,
• 2:19
which was last June. Mister Musk said, quote, it's time
• 2:22
to drop the really big bomb at real Donald Trump
• 2:26
is in the Epstein files. The question was just whether
• 2:29
you had any conversation with subordinates colleagues about that tweet? Dylan,
• 2:34
That question calls for communication that she already said she's
• 2:37
not going to testify about, and she already answered that,
• 2:40
So question, I definitely don't think it does. But can
• 2:44
you help me understand in what sense? In other words,
• 2:47
it's not a conversation with the president, it's during her
• 2:50
time as Attorney General Dylan, She stated that she is
• 2:54
not going to testify about executive branch communication, and your
• 2:57
question elicited that it was broader than the president question. Definitely,
• 3:02
I'm not asking about presidential communication. So is the category
• 3:07
not just president or close aids to president, but inside
• 3:10
of DOJ conversation Dylan, that question redacted. You're kind of
• 3:15
changing the scope of your question. Actually, question, I don't
• 3:19
think I am, Dylan, I think you are. Question I'm
• 3:23
definitely not. The question is just whether miss Bondi, and
• 3:26
I'll direct it to Miss BONDI had any discussions that
• 3:29
you can recall with colleagues at DOJ about the tweet
• 3:33
that I just described, Dylan, So that's a different question
• 3:37
than the one you had originally asked. You can answer
• 3:40
the question if you can without revealing privileged communication. BONDI sure.
• 3:45
I'm sure we did, because that was quite a post. Yes,
• 3:48
but I can't recall the extent of the conversation other
• 3:51
than did you see this question? To your knowledge, did
• 3:55
that tweet have any impact on the department's decision to
• 3:57
release the July memo we previously did discussed answer? To
• 4:01
my knowledge, no question, all right. I would like to
• 4:04
ask a few questions about Glayne Maxwell and the conditions
• 4:07
of her incarceration. This topic was discussed to some extent.
• 4:13
Bondy jumps in. Can I have a minute to confer question? Sure,
• 4:16
of course, answer there's something I might want. We can
• 4:20
go off the record for a moment. Do you have
• 4:23
a clarification, Bondy, no question. Okay, We're actually going to
• 4:27
do a few questions from members that are here, so
• 4:30
I'll turn that over in that direction. Now we have
• 4:34
mister Garcia asking the questions. Mister Garcia, Miss BONDI, thank
• 4:40
you again for being here. And again just want to
• 4:42
reiterate we wish you a full and speedy recovery. So
• 4:45
thanks for being here, Miss BONDI a couple questions I
• 4:48
want to start. First. There's been a reporting that indicates
• 4:51
that you had informed President Trump on May twenty fifth
• 4:54
that his name appeared multiple times in the Epstein files
• 4:57
that were reviewed by the DOJ. A couple of months later,
• 5:01
on July seventh of twenty twenty five, which was discussed earlier,
• 5:05
the DOJ and the FBI released a memo saying that
• 5:08
no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted. We just
• 5:12
discussed that now. Looking at the conversation that was reported
• 5:15
back in May, why did you tell President Trump he
• 5:18
was in the files, Bondie. I'm not going to discuss
• 5:22
the conversations I did or did not have with the
• 5:24
President of the United States, and I've said that multiple
• 5:27
times on multiple topics throughout my tenure. Garcia, what was
• 5:32
President Trump's reaction when you had that conversation with him?
• 5:35
No response, Dylan asked and answered, Garcia. Did President Trump
• 5:40
at any time tell you not to disclose what was
• 5:43
in the files? Dylan asked and answered, Garcia, Let me
• 5:47
get to Glenn Maxwell. It's clear not answering my questions
• 5:50
about President Trump about any conversation with President Trump, what
• 5:55
he may have directed you to do. Is that correct, Bondi,
• 5:58
I'm not going to answer any question any conversations that
• 6:01
I've had with the President of the United States, whether
• 6:04
we had them or didn't have them, or the substance, Garcia.
• 6:08
So let's look at the handling of client Maxwell. Obviously
• 6:12
a convicted sex trafficker. She sentenced to twenty years in
• 6:15
federal prison. You earlier today called her evil. We can
• 6:18
agree on that. I wonder, just to re clarify, miss Bondi,
• 6:23
do you think that Maxwell deserves a pardon for her crimes?
• 6:25
Bondy No, Garcia, Okay, thank you, we agree on that
• 6:29
as well. Now I also want to talk to you
• 6:31
about the prison. She was moved to a less secure prison.
• 6:35
You mentioned earlier that it was comparable. In fact, that's
• 6:38
not correct. There are four levels of prison within the GOP.
• 6:42
She was moved to the minimum level from another level,
• 6:46
so she was actually moved to a lower level, less
• 6:48
secure facility per BOP. We have an exhibit on it.
• 6:52
If we need to also share that our counsel can
• 6:55
pass it around. Do you think that she should have
• 6:57
been moved to a less secure prison? I think any
• 7:01
inmate should be moved somewhere where they can be safe,
• 7:03
regardless of what crime they committed. That would be a
• 7:06
question directed at the Bureau of Prisons, and I have
• 7:10
full faith in Billy Marshall, who is the director of
• 7:12
the Bureau of Prisons. Garcia, but will you acknowledge that
• 7:16
she was moved to a less secure facility? Bondy, No,
• 7:19
because I have no knowledge of that, Garcia. Okay. I
• 7:23
do want to make sure that we get that exhibit out,
• 7:25
but that is the case, she was moved to a
• 7:28
less secure facility. Do you know if Acting Ag Todd
• 7:31
Blanche ordered the move to a less secure facility? Bondye,
• 7:35
I have no knowledge of that, Garcia. Did you ever
• 7:38
ask anyone to move Glenn Maxwell to a different prison, Bondy.
• 7:42
As I stated earlier, I knew she was moved when
• 7:45
I read it. I guess online or saw it. Garcia, Okay,
• 7:49
did you talk to the Acting Ag mister Blanche after
• 7:52
you read it online? Dylan on any topic? Garcia on
• 7:57
the actual move Glen Maxwell to the less secure facility, BONDI,
• 8:01
I don't recall. I would direct that though to the
• 8:04
Bureau of Prisons. I don't recall Garcia, Okay. I just think, obviously,
• 8:08
the move Glenn Maxwell to a lesscure facility was everywhere,
• 8:12
was being discussed in the news, a massive, obviously move
• 8:16
that the Bureau of Prisons ended up making under whose
• 8:18
direction we still have yet no answer on. And so
• 8:22
it's interesting, of course that you don't recall if there
• 8:24
was ever a conversation. Did you have a conversation with
• 8:27
the Bureau of Prisons about the move after what happened, Bondie,
• 8:32
I believe. I ran into them and at an event
• 8:35
and I asked it was moved to a similar level,
• 8:37
and they said, yes, I believe. But this is why
• 8:40
it's not unusual. As a career prosecutor, she was on
• 8:43
top of the news, and if she was getting threats,
• 8:45
I don't know even where she was moved where she's
• 8:48
housed now, But if any defendant at any level is
• 8:51
getting threats, it's common to move people within the prison system.
• 8:55
That's why it wasn't that unusual to me. That's an
• 8:57
absolute lie, by the way, and also, nobody would threatening
• 9:00
her in the Honor Dorm in Tallahassee. Now you see
• 9:04
why Pam Bondi didn't want to be under oath. Garcia,
• 9:09
thank you, And would you agree that perhaps the question
• 9:13
should have been directed at the Bureau of Prisons and
• 9:15
to the Acting AG Todd Blanche. Bondi, yes, question, okay,
• 9:18
and so mister Blanche, Bureau of Prisons, that's where the
• 9:21
information is at. Knowing what you Dylan jumps in, I
• 9:25
would just not a congressman that mister Blanche actually made
• 9:28
those remarks and said that during a briefing that you
• 9:31
walked out of, mister Garcia. So, knowing what you know today,
• 9:35
do you think that miss Maxwell should have been moved
• 9:38
to that facility? Bondie anytime. I don't have details and
• 9:41
if she received death threats, what kind of threats, but
• 9:44
anytime an inmate at any level is threatened, they will
• 9:47
be moved. Well, that's going to be great to hear
• 9:50
for a lot of people that are being threatened in
• 9:51
prison right now all over the country. Pam Bondy, former
• 9:54
AG says, you're going to be moved. Start hitting those
• 9:57
petitions up and if you have family members in prison,
• 10:00
time to start sending letters in saying that they're being threatened,
• 10:03
so everybody gets moved to a camp. That's what Bondi
• 10:06
is saying, right. It's very common among prisons, state and
• 10:10
federal to move inmates, and she had just recently given
• 10:13
a very public interview. Garcia, thank you. Last question, you
• 10:17
are aware that, of course, there was the Epstein File
• 10:20
Transparency Act that passed in Congress, but there was also
• 10:23
an active subpoena that the dj did actually not fully
• 10:26
respond to. Are you aware of that, Bondy, I'm sorry,
• 10:29
could you slow down and repeat that again, please, Garcia.
• 10:33
So you're aware that besides the Epstein File Transparency Act
• 10:36
that passed in Congress signed by the President, prior to that,
• 10:40
there was an active subpoena passed by an oversight committee
• 10:43
for the full release of the files, and that those
• 10:45
two are separate. Bondi. Yeah, and that's when we released
• 10:49
I believe approximately thirty three thousand or over thirty thousand.
• 10:53
She gets cut off by Garcia. Thank you, and we'll
• 10:56
continue with some additional questions on that. I'm going to
• 11:00
turn this over to Representative Frost. Mister Frost, thank you
• 11:04
very much. One quick question for clarification for the record,
• 11:08
the Council kept referring to your participation here as a
• 11:10
voluntary interview. Are you aware that this committee issued a
• 11:13
subpoena to you, Bondy, yes. Question. Do you not consider
• 11:18
this sit down to be complying with that subpoena? Bondy,
• 11:21
I am no longer attorney general. The subpoena was regarding
• 11:24
when I was Attorney General. I'm here voluntarily today. She
• 11:28
gets caught off by Frost. So is it your opinion
• 11:31
is that you sit She cuts them off to comply
• 11:35
with you Frost again, So just to make sure for
• 11:37
the record, in your opinion, the sit down is not
• 11:39
to comply with the subpoena, but it's a voluntary interview.
• 11:42
Have nothing to do with the subpoena issued by the committee, Bondi.
• 11:46
I'm here to answer any questions that you have that
• 11:49
I can answer. Regarding Jeffrey Epstein. I also came in
• 11:52
while I was Attorney General to this committee voluntarily with
• 11:55
Deputy Attorney General at the time, Blanche, who answered many
• 11:58
of the questions that you're asking. However, during that hearing,
• 12:02
I believe many of you, if not all of you, left,
• 12:05
Frost cuts her off. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am, thank you.
• 12:08
And just for a clarification of the record, now she
• 12:10
cuts him off. So many of those excuse me, I'm sorry,
• 12:13
I didn't mean to interrupt you. Many of those have
• 12:15
been asked and answered by at the time, the Deputy
• 12:18
Attorney General Frost. Yeah, thank you, ma'am. And just for
• 12:21
clarification for the record, you do not see this sit down,
• 12:24
this voluntary interview, as you call it, as complying with
• 12:27
the subpoena that the committee issued. You see this as
• 12:30
a separate thing. Mister Ginn. I'm sure, I'm confident that
• 12:34
you're aware that the answer to that is actually that
• 12:36
there was a robust discussion between the Department of Justice
• 12:39
and this committee about how the Department of Justice would
• 12:42
fulfill its obligation in responding to the subpoena. And this
• 12:45
sit down interview right now, is the Department of Justice
• 12:48
compliance with the committee's request to have time to speak
• 12:52
with the Attorney General. Yeah, because comer hooked her up.
• 12:57
Stop of the bullshit, mister Frost. So miss, just for
• 13:00
clarification for the record, is the answer. Yes, you do
• 13:03
see this sit down as complying with the subpoena. Mister Ginn. Again,
• 13:07
the contents of former Attorney General Bondie's testimony do not
• 13:11
overlap with the content of Counsel's negotiation with you all.
• 13:14
So I mean, I think the answer to that information
• 13:17
is really directed to Miss Dillon and myself and the
• 13:20
Attorney General. Mister Frost, Okay, So, Miss Bondi, you don't
• 13:24
have an answer for that on whether or not you
• 13:27
see this as complying with the subpoena. Miss Dillon, she's
• 13:30
not going to answer that, mister Frost. Okay, So you
• 13:32
won't answer the question. Okay, back to the Glen Maxwell transfer.
• 13:37
Are you aware if President Trump was informed about the
• 13:39
transfer before it happened? Bondi, I'm not going to discuss
• 13:42
any conversation that I had or did not have with
• 13:45
the President of the United States on this topic or others.
• 13:48
Mister Frost, Yeah, I understand that, but it's not about
• 13:51
the conversation you might have had with him. My question is,
• 13:54
are you aware if he knew about it before it happened? Bondi.
• 13:58
I'm not going to discuss any conversation that I might
• 14:01
have had or not had with the President of the
• 14:03
United States. Mister Frost, So, just for clarification, it seems
• 14:07
like you won't answer my question relating to conversations you've
• 14:10
had with the president, but also any conversations you've had
• 14:14
about the president. Is that true, Bondy, no question, okay.
• 14:18
So my question has to do with if you're aware
• 14:21
that he knew about it, not if he told you
• 14:23
he knew about it. Gin jumps in once again, I'm
• 14:27
just going to object to this entire line of questioning.
• 14:29
It's just argumentative and completely unproductive. Redacted, Council. This is
• 14:34
a transcribed interview. There are no objections, Frost. Yeah, I'm
• 14:38
just asking questions and I'm just trying to understand the
• 14:40
scope of things, Dylan. If members are tchewing up their
• 14:43
time repeating themselves, that is not our problem, Bondi. I
• 14:47
am not aware of the President having any knowledge of it,
• 14:50
whether it be from reading in the paper or people
• 14:53
reporting that he did, or talking to anyone about it.
• 14:57
I have no knowledge of that, mister Frost. Okay, thank you, ma'am.
• 15:01
Did anyone in the administration ever express concern about the
• 15:04
transfer or urge Bo Peter reverse it, Bondie. I'm not
• 15:10
going to discuss any conversations that I had or did
• 15:12
not have with the administration, mister Frost. Okay, thank you redacted.
• 15:19
Just a really quick clarification, and it's not so much
• 15:22
for you all, but more just for the record. The
• 15:25
reference to the relationship between the subpoena, a deposition, a
• 15:28
transcribed interview related discussions, we have not been part of
• 15:32
those discussions and we haven't been read into those discussions,
• 15:35
so we don't actually have any knowledge of that. So
• 15:38
that's just for the transcript. Please continue, all right, folks,
• 15:42
We're going to wrap up right here, and in the
• 15:43
next episode, we're going to pick up where we left off.
• 15:46
