- 0:29That comes flame, comes to cook, get, it comes to Mark?
- 0:33Is it just I'm gonna do it begin, I'm gonna go on the way.
- 0:40You may pill Vegan. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. You're listening to
- 0:45the Sports Shop Show. I am the Sportshop Wayne Candy, and we have
- 0:50rolled into the twenty twenty four in fl draft. We are twelve hours away
- 0:57from the Chicago Bears are on the clock. They get the first pick right
- 1:03now. From what every outlet you can plug into tells you. USC's Caleb
- 1:10Williams, the quarterback will be first off the board. That is pick one.
- 1:15So a lot of the mystery is how long will Chicago hold up traffic
- 1:22to make this pick or will they just give it to the commissioner. Roger
- 1:26Goodell just can walk up there with it in his pocket as soon as he
- 1:30finished his well opening joke about welcome to Chicago and make sure you get you
- 1:37a Chicago dog and the Bear's pick. Caleb Williams, Yeah, you get
- 1:45all that done in the first ninety seconds. We can get an introduction if
- 1:49that's the pick. See, that's all I'm betting on. Are you gonna
- 1:52wait like eighteen minutes until the serve the ceremony for something that was already in
- 1:59your back pocket. Chicago has the first pick, Washington with the second,
- 2:02New England with the third. All three of those teams are expected to go
- 2:07with eight quarterback, so we could see three quarterbacks in a row, which
- 2:12would not surprise anyone when you think about all three of those teams basically got
- 2:17rid of whoever was there playing in Washington's place. I think they let Sam
- 2:24Howell go New England, they let our man go from Alabama, Matt Jones,
- 2:32he's down in Jacksonville now. And Chicago's quarterback, who they thought three
- 2:38years ago in the same position they got justin s Fields, is now in
- 2:43Pittsburgh. So all three of those teams did open up a big space to
- 2:47say, hey, I'm getting a quarterback now. Which order that goes in?
- 2:53We at least know that. Everybody seems that Caleb Williams will be first
- 2:57on the board at four, Arizon, one of the Cardinals. A lot
- 3:00of reports they will go with Marvin Harrison, the third who a lot of
- 3:05people view as the best offensive player in this draft. The Chargers at five,
- 3:13you probably with them could go anywhere. They've kind of gotten rid of
- 3:19every receiver they have, so it might be the young man out of Washington
- 3:23Old doonsay, because they got rid of Keenland Allen. They let the other
- 3:27big, Mike Williams go, so they could be going receiver there at number
- 3:30five and keep the kid on the West coast go ahead. As part of
- 3:36the intrigue with Jim Harbaugh coming in, they may go with the best Michigan
- 3:43player available. I think a lot of people are trying to like push that,
- 3:46and nothing wrong with that. A lot of those guys. I wouldn't
- 3:53see a quarterback. No, I wouldn't see that kind of You already have
- 3:58trading Herbert, and right away we would already have known that because if they
- 4:01were trading Herb Herbert, he would be in Chicago. Well, he would
- 4:06already be one of them. And that's That's what I was asking, Why
- 4:10would he Why would we even be risking it on an unknown when just let's
- 4:15get him. The Giants are at number six. You never know what they're
- 4:20gonna do right now. Uh. They are similar to the J. A.
- 4:26T. S Chets chats chats where their draft picks aren't really developing like
- 4:32they think. They thought Daniel Jones, Daniel Dimes, they thought sa Quan.
- 4:36It's been like a real turmoil over the last five years and in their
- 4:41draft pick. That's not knocking either team. I'm just saying, Uh,
- 4:45the people those names and Saquan did deliver, but you still found it where
- 4:50you didn't want him. Now he's in Philly running the ball, Tennessee at
- 4:56seven, Atlanta at eight Atlanta going out and bringing in a quarterback. You
- 5:02could easily see them going on the defensive side of the ball. I believe
- 5:10that one of these ten picks need to grab the Kid Bowers out of Georgia.
- 5:15I think, especially if you're getting a quarterback the tight end position.
- 5:19He has a little that Travis Kelcey in it that natural. I don't know
- 5:25if he was a quarterback in high school like Trevor. A lot of people
- 5:29don't know what that Kelsey was a quarterback. Yeah, he came to Cincinnati
- 5:31quarter And I always tell people on this show, even since you've been here,
- 5:34Big Kenny, You'll be surprised how many of those slot receivers, those
- 5:39tight end styles that when you look those guys were they a lot of them
- 5:45went to college as a quarterback right and then they skill set just put him
- 5:49because that position that inside is about knowing and going reading the defense as well.
- 5:56And from Antoine Rondeel to guys like Hines to a Mondola to West,
- 6:02all those guys they know how to just get in there. It's not really
- 6:05a route, it's kind of a get open, yeah saying lot, I'm
- 6:13gonna go to the green car. I'm gonna turn around and then you got
- 6:15because I'm reading the defense and I'm reading that you two are about to blitz
- 6:19and he's gonna fall off, So I'm not gonna go left. I'm gonna
- 6:23just go right and curl up throw me the ball. It is one of
- 6:26them that I think Brock Blowers would do great with any of the especialty with
- 6:30Chicago, uh there with having two of the top ten picks. Something to
- 6:34give our man. Caleb Williams would be a nice tight end, especially since
- 6:40they went and got Keenan Allen out on the edge. Or you can get
- 6:44another receiver. What you don't want to do is mix a room where the
- 6:46Ricky at both spots. So the Keenan Allen gave them some range. You
- 6:53can now draft a young receiver or tight end because you have a veteran to
- 6:59be in the room or be around them on that side of the ball along
- 7:01with your young quarterback. So draft is tonight. Caleb Williams, we talked
- 7:05about him probably coming off the board first. If you remember back in the
- 7:12fall, Caleb Williams usc it lost. Who was that game? Washington?
- 7:16I think it was Oregon? It was I think it was Oregon, wasn't
- 7:19it. When he jumped up in the stands for a mommy moment and we've
- 7:25all am I right, we've all been somewhere and day was hard, and
- 7:29we've seen our mama, and we did ran to him and jumped in started
- 7:32crying. I must be honest, I have rarely from eighth grade to thirty
- 7:39nine years old, I rarely knew where my mom was in the stadium to
- 7:44do that and got Tyler for all of that. I'm out here handling business.
- 7:47Yeah I know, I don't even I can't even confirm that they made
- 7:51it until the game's over. And because once I leave the tickets where they're
- 7:56supposed to go, I totally erased them out of my mind. What they're
- 8:00doing, how they're doing. And that was a lot of the scrutiny about
- 8:03him jumping into this, And until you said that, it something about it
- 8:09always seemed odd to me. And when you said that, in that moment,
- 8:13I realized how you even find your mama in the stadium, how you
- 8:18look at go that she is, you know, I just run to her,
- 8:22And how well the new era of athletes seems to love to position their
- 8:28loved ones right next to the court or the field to where they're just a
- 8:37shoulder, because that's how they've been they most time, they have lived in
- 8:39a helicopter environment. So any game they ever had, it's a right shoulder,
- 8:46left shoulder. They're sitting right there. They're they're almost looking over there
- 8:50to the parent faster than they're looking at to the coach right of what to
- 8:54do or was that a foul? They're looking at their best friend or the
- 9:01wives or the girlfriend or their uncle. Hey that a five, Like they're
- 9:03not even paying attention to that. The coach is yelling for them to come
- 9:07over, big Kenny, I think, I Kenny, and see Kenny,
- 9:11I call the time out just to talk to you now. And now I
- 9:15had an experience like that with my son when he was playing t ball and
- 9:20mama was screaming something and the coach a screaming something, and I said,
- 9:24hey, Kenny, you need to listen to your coach. And he looked
- 9:28at me and said, but then I can't hear my mom and I was
- 9:31And from that I was like, look, we need to just stay way
- 9:35back while he's playing, because that's not why that man is out there to
- 9:39have to defer to you for what's going on on the field. So it
- 9:43starts young, but if you don't stop it, then it gets to the
- 9:48you lose to Oregon, and now you're jumping in the stands. And you
- 9:52had a question before the show a center around Caleb Williams. If that were
- 9:56you and this was a young man that were your son, nephew, cousin,
- 10:03someone a confidant that you had access to, what would you number one
- 10:09had felt like you needed to do in that moment, and what you have
- 10:13said to him, because sometimes what I feel like my natural response would be
- 10:18isn't what I think the child needs in that moment. You see what I'm
- 10:22saying. I try and consider that. Not that I always override my own
- 10:26judgment, but I try and consider that. So if that were you sitting
- 10:31in the stands and your young athlete jumped up into the stands to hug his
- 10:37mama, what would you have said to him? I would have continued the
- 10:41act of what he's doing after the game, when we got in the car,
- 10:46whenever we had a good chance to talk, once his emotions would have
- 10:50gone down, I would have told him that is not a good signal of
- 10:56leadership. You seen when why you I wasn't getting on Caleb for crying,
- 11:03right, but you go cry your family? Now is those other people in
- 11:07the uniform they need you as a quarterback. That's the job you took on.
- 11:13Your job is to lead them. They got to see you, you
- 11:16know, and you're showing a certain amount of selfishness. Now, if the
- 11:22rule is all hundred of us get to go jump in the stands at the
- 11:26same time, we're all together, we all we all together? Then,
- 11:31yes we are. But the other ninety nine from at least from what we
- 11:35saw in footage, stayed where with their family. Yes, that family,
- 11:41that's your football family until it's over. Yes, and then you go back
- 11:45to your regular family. And it was just a sign and we got some
- 11:48different reports of if you were looking to see where a person's constitution as far
- 11:54as leadership stands, it seems like and we'll talk later in the show about
- 11:58how Tom Brady say they function more. His only problem with the young era
- 12:03is they function more from selfishness. Right then team right, they hit the
- 12:09field word about their numbers and the whole game that is going, and they're
- 12:16they're always counting, that's my seventh catch, that's my and the other guy's
- 12:20counting. He ain't threw me the ball yet, right man, we had
- 12:22they're trying to win. Y'all still on that about I'm saying he got two
- 12:24more balls than me. And we'll be back with more than Sports Jock Show

- 16:03this spot shot show. I'm this one shop fwing candy. One thing I'm
- 16:07gonna say as we go forward, because in our music world, especially if
- 16:11you love a little hip hop, little R and B got a whole bunch
- 16:14of people beefing. Y'all are like twenty years thirty years too late. Come
- 16:21on, man, come on so late with the beef. Come on,
- 16:23sports, John, I don't even understand. I'm sitting here like what y'all
- 16:29people shouldn't even be rapping anymore, y'all. Forty albums in forty y'all aren't
- 16:33the new upstarts. Y'all. Y'all are pillow fighting from from Rose Royce's Wow
- 16:41Man, my great poopon is fresher than your well. I'll take your great
- 16:45poopon and take all your honeys because I can't say that word on. I'm
- 16:52sitting here like, what are y'all doing? I think every day so Chris
- 16:57krat Rick Ross beefing with future events. What are y'all doing? Kanye,
- 17:04we're playing beef music today. But gentlemen, y'all are waited too long.
- 17:11There's no need for Peyton Manning and Tom Brady to fall out. Now.
- 17:17I got my old label, I got ten platinum artists are fun to me.
- 17:22I made a half billion dollars. Who won't it? Now? Now
- 17:26we tough? Who won't some? I got smoked for everybody from my private
- 17:30island in the Turks and kekos bottled up in crystal glass. That's for your
- 17:37smoke. It's no longer in barrels. Right outside, it's actually bottled in.
- 17:42A man is sucking it in decanter, pushing it front of the bottle.
- 17:48Man to just make that good music. And I don't even want to
- 17:52hear somebody interrupt with some new news. What are y'all talking about? You
- 17:57don't get too series four hundred million later. This beef should have been when
- 18:03y'all were sleeping on each other couch right right. I gave you a ride
- 18:08to the studio. Now you're trying to diss me. Remember that day you
- 18:11stole my bandana? Remember we were there, we ain't have a one bandanna,
- 18:15and I told y'all was shooting the video and I needed to ban banana
- 18:18and you left with it. And we supposed you're supposed to bring me back,
- 18:22mana, you got to voe for fo. You're supposed to bring me
- 18:26two of them items back. Drake giving out burking bags at a concert.
- 18:30J Cole is pretending to be poor, pretending have you ever seen them?
- 18:37He rides a bike everywhere in like a T shirt and some and some shoes
- 18:42he got from good Will. And I'm like, he's like, peace got
- 18:45peace got. Everybody's like, don't you live in Calabasas. I'm saying,
- 18:51I got three albums, so you know thet you got three, which means
- 19:00you about seven albums date because you know I'll lose interest about album five.
- 19:07It just tickles me. And when I hear, I'm like, y'all,
- 19:08it's too late. I know everybody want to be bigger pop. Those people
- 19:12did that when they was twenty two. They upstarts. Were they were upstarts.
- 19:18There's a clear instance, there's a clear instance when they weren't that this
- 19:23is not a biggie in part thing like we were talking about with as far
- 19:26as like Crystal Glass or or gray pupone. Rick Ross was making fun of
- 19:33Drake about his private plane being old. So they're arguing about like I got
- 19:40a better Let me say you something. This is Ricky Rose, the biggest
- 19:47boss. And if you want to know something, dreazy, you don't want
- 19:52none of us. You don't want none of made back. Mute Yo,
- 19:56your plane old? Your is Oh look at his plane? How stupid you
- 20:03signed with that? Look at your plane. Your plane, so old,
- 20:07bro, Look at your plane. You got on that twenty twenty two Rolex,
- 20:11Look at you with that twenty eighteen Bentley, that's so you lame son,
- 20:19y'all. I just had to stop in the show and just get that
- 20:22out because that's the music. You will hear different artists out here beefing,
- 20:26and I'm just y'all are so late. It surprises you that these people even
- 20:32mentioning each other. Listen, Chris Brown and Quavo are beefing supposedly over Caruci,
- 20:40the daughter that Chris Brown had with Caruci. It's like fourteen now that
- 20:48she's so old. You forgot to have a baby. She's so old.
- 20:52People forgot they had a baby together. He got a whole nother baby and
- 20:56now he mad about Come on, man, I don't know, man,
- 21:00it's a come on man. These beefs are not enhancing your career. Doubt
- 21:07your fan base, whatever particular fan base that you have is your fan base.
- 21:14At fifty, you don't really win. That's why people go out and
- 21:18they start just doing the same old music because they can still draw a Janet
- 21:23Jackson if she just drew out Janet Jackson that's all she's looking for jan Jackson
- 21:30fan. She ain't looking for the news sixteen year old. She don't want
- 21:33nobody to look like fifty nine year old that know her music. That just
- 21:37won't my girl. You remember when we was West Less Way. Wow,
- 21:47honey. Yes, And if I can get half of them that's still alive
- 21:51to come out, to come out, I'm gonna have a big conspeci at
- 21:53this ticket. Proce Yes, come on twenty years ago, ticket for five
- 21:57dollars, five dollars. Then fifty nine year olds can afford the three hundred
- 22:02fifty dollars. And I don't have to stay out there long there get tied.
- 22:08I'm telling you you should have give him too full out at fifteen and
- 22:12they so I hadn't done. That's almost eleven. I can't believe we've been
- 22:17in here all. I should come into town. I decided to stay home,
- 22:19so y'all start is too late? Yeah, man, let it go,
- 22:23you gotta let it go. And what I want to see is when
- 22:26they run into each other though, like, is they're really gonna be smoking.
- 22:30You're gonna be like, oh, Drake, don't even come up on
- 22:33me with your old plane. A driver. Let myti my Bugatti window now
- 22:42a Limo Limo driver, sir, Yes, sir, Can you pull up
- 22:47that Rose Royce and let me speak at Quevo? Yes, sir, hold
- 22:51on, sir, Quavo, this Bugatti leather is softer than that Rose Royce
- 23:03leather. And then his his chauffeur turns and says, mister Quavo, the
- 23:07man says that his Bugatti leather is softer than your leather. Well you tell
- 23:12him that. I said, no, it's not no, sir, it
- 23:19is not drive me to my value. You showed him this morning, sir.
- 23:29We'll be back boring to sports jock. You're just having a little fun.

- 26:47Zone, d Welcome back to this WAT shock. Shot up this shock Wene
- 27:07Candy twenty twenty four NFL Draft tonight. We're getting about eleven and a half
- 27:11hours away. The Chicago Beers are Bears are on the clock, same thing,
- 27:15Beers Bears. A lot of great and Hall of Fame players. Kids
- 27:22are getting drafted or possibly drafted tonight. Jerry Rice, his son is a
- 27:29receiver. I know Frank Gore, the great Frank Girl who should get in
- 27:33for his longevity at the running back positioned about sixteen years at that position is
- 27:40wild. Uh so Frank Gore's son. I don't know their names. That's
- 27:42why the kid's actual name is Frank Frank gorg Georgian. I know. I
- 27:47think Jerry Frank Brendan Brendan. Where does Frank gor Junior play? I think
- 27:53he went to Southern Miss. Oh yeah, yeah, I thought he went
- 27:57to Southern Miss. Southerns the time. Yeah, A nice little plug Jerry
- 28:07Wright song with USC Yes, Yes, Marvin Harrison Senior, We'll be there
- 28:12to watch Marvin Harrison Junior, who says that his dad is envious of his
- 28:18height, Well nothing, nothing says I respect you, pops, like going
- 28:26into the draft when my daddy short, No, no, you want to
- 28:30be me? Marvin I think is like six four, right, yeah,
- 28:33mar j six and his dad's like sixty one right in there, he would
- 28:37have been way colder, been hating on him, right, So his dad
- 28:41would have been even a bigger Hall of Famer had had a few. Ed
- 28:45McCaffrey has another son that could be getting drafted tonight, Christian McCaffrey's brother.
- 28:49Ed McCaffrey is the dad Christian McCaffrey would be. His brother. Tarle Owens
- 28:56has a son. I don't know what college you went to. I have
- 28:57to look that up, but he as a son that's available for the draft
- 29:02tonight as well. So a lot of famous sons and one, two,
- 29:06three of those five guys are in the Hall of Fame. Possible for Frank
- 29:10Gore as well. All of them had long career, so even Ed mccatt
- 29:15was round. I think he won both Super Bowls at least one with the
- 29:18Broncos, isn't he? Uh? I think he has three. Okay,
- 29:22there's a lot of success in those family. Nine ers, and he's already
- 29:26got one son son that turning yeah, turning football upside down Sportshock. One
- 29:32of our listeners here Lloyd said about the beef, it's like sports jock beefing
- 29:36with Bruce Smith talking about Remember that illegal hands to the face The rest didn't
- 29:41call that was wheah. Yeah, I'm not saying what ninety seven ninety eight.
- 29:52Now you the caught Bruce at the wigs by name. Hey, bro,
- 29:55let's hope these wings don't push up by blood pressure. You got to
- 30:00cholesterol. Let me give the cholesterol. Now you think a major don't cholesterol?
- 30:07Lawrence Taylor like, man, let me get one. And you're like,
- 30:10na, Lawrence, you don't want money. Oh I'm good, Lemon
- 30:18about to give me a stroke. And they too high and so uh but
- 30:23that's what the muty They kill me with that beef and from limos and rockets
- 30:30they sound like musk and uh talk about But but do you think that you
- 30:37get so so wealthy that at some point you get bored and you start looking
- 30:44for that excitement. You missed the days when you share the baton Dana you
- 30:48know what I'm saying. You miss the days when the dude might pull up
- 30:51on you about not getting two items out the bag of four for four.
- 30:55So you go creating that drama. You can't be the beefing if we both
- 31:00got planes though, yeah, that is kind of if we're going we both
- 31:06have private planes. There there's rules against beef. Maybe, Big, you
- 31:11need to come back and tell us, Yeah, what's beef? What's not
- 31:15beef? Big? Right? What's not beef? Beef is when your plane
- 31:19got some satin sheets. Maybe need to come and give us that. If
- 31:26you if both of us are arguing the private jet airplane right in a hangar
- 31:32about a parking spot, right, that we we't really need to be beefing.
- 31:36We don't really need We need to stop we petty, that's what we
- 31:40need to get in the same call and just go down to the homeless shelter
- 31:42and start helping them because we immature and we got way too much time on
- 31:47our hands. You right, Uh, we were talking about the Bears who
- 31:51have the first pick. Caleb Williams, Chicago radio host, has got a
- 31:56little fiery against the cargo Bears. The Bears are about to petition to get
- 32:04a new stadium around the five billion dollar mark of a stadium in Chicago,
- 32:13and they had a pastor, Reverend doctor Charlie E. Dates led in prayer
- 32:22at the beginning of the ceremony, you know, the wish good luck on
- 32:27the venture of hoping they get the money to secure a new stadium. Well
- 32:31radio hosts for six seventy says that the pastor and the team, Kevin Warren
- 32:38chairman George McCaskey, basically in a nutshell Paara phasing, messed up a prayer.
- 32:47You shouldn't use a prayer for this occasion, y'all. Kind of like
- 32:54we're saying with the airplane, Like you misspent the prayer, Like you don't
- 32:59pray for stuff. You should go that the pastor should have went down the
- 33:01block and said that prayer for the people that were living on the street.
- 33:10He should be ashamed of himself praying for adventure like this. And I and
- 33:15I kept when I read the article, I was thinking, but there's a
- 33:17lot of traditions people do to start. People drink a toast, don't they
- 33:25Yeah, they say a song, or they do a lot of stuff.
- 33:30A lot of they blessed the fleet they bless the crops. They do a
- 33:37lot of say prayers at high school games in the States that is still allowed
- 33:43before the game starts. Just hey, as we start this game, this,
- 33:46make sure hope nobody come. I even times when you might not think
- 33:52of prayers nesting the Lord, don't let these folks pull me over because I
- 33:54know my life and well, I thought the guy what is his name,
- 33:59Lawrence Home, I just felt like that that was a total overreaction to something
- 34:10that the organization just thought they would start their venture off with a prayer.
- 34:15If that's their sensibilities. What's wrong? A lot of things start with a
- 34:20prayer, yea, even if it's not of your religion. I know.
- 34:22And that's where I was going to say. It's if you pay attention.
- 34:29A lot of people, especially organizations, sports organizations and multi cultural organizations that
- 34:37encompass a lot of different kinds of people, they steer clear of any kind
- 34:42of religious reference because people are so ingrained. Whatever beliefs they have are concrete.
- 34:50There is no negotiating a person's feeling about their religion or their faith,
- 34:55so people steer clear of it. It's one of those better let's be safe
- 35:02and you know, it's not that we don't agree, it's not that we
- 35:06don't have religious police, but were just gonna exclude it so these people don't
- 35:08overreact. And this guy, and he's got the kind of platform that people
- 35:13hear him. He's on the radio, So for him to say something like
- 35:16that, he will agitate the horness nets of people who feel like you should
- 35:22only pray for the homeless. Do you think that it was because it was
- 35:24the pastor was speaking from It was the perspective of a fan. Yeah,
- 35:30because he said, we want I've actually to help us win some games,
- 35:37help us to get a super Bowl here, help us to play in the
- 35:39super Bowl and bring back the nineteen eighty five roaring, cheering fans we had
- 35:45for your glory and for our good. They say, you got to be
- 35:47specific in your prayer. Yeah, he would tell me all the time.
- 35:51You tell me I don't have a super Bowl because I never prayed specifically for
- 35:57a Super Bowl. I always play, always prayed for health and to play
- 36:01the best I can. And they'd be like, well, you have ask
- 36:05God to win the super Bowl. And I'm like, well, you know
- 36:06what you know, and I'm finna start praying for Oscar because sports yaka.
- 36:10I'm like, you just keep me healthy and I'm gonna do the best,
- 36:16and I'm gonna put forth the best of my ability. But maybe I'm gonna
- 36:20go keep me healthy. I'll put forth the best of my ability in there.
- 36:22Give me an Oscar man. I don't know that that is playing around
- 36:25with your religion. Now he's taking a moment in he's a Bears fan.
- 36:31How how did you get so serious? Is what I would like to ask
- 36:35this announcer of something. I'm quite sure they raised the toast, yeah,
- 36:39yeah, And now they shoot off some fireworks and it's Chicago. Something got
- 36:45shot. I don't know if it was fire works, but it's Chicago.
- 36:49That was shouting. They throw a certain after you get married, and some
- 36:52they throw plates or something. Greeks, yes, they break the Jewish faith
- 37:00stomps a glass. The Greek faith smashes plates like stacks of plates. The
- 37:06bride does, and the groom and their families do that. We in African
- 37:13American culture jump a broom. There's a lot of stuff that people do.
- 37:16And just because it's not your thing doesn't mean it can't be anybody else's.
- 37:21And that's why whether I have believed in your religion or not. If I
- 37:25go where you go, and that's how y'all are starting, I stand up.
- 37:30I don't know that is your that is that doesn't I don't. That's
- 37:34the same thing we say with the flag, right If any country, if
- 37:37that's the moment, whatever organization I'm hanging with, if that's their tradition,
- 37:43either I stand or I remove myself. But I'm not gonna make it wrong
- 37:47that the cue historically their first moment they do this. Man, I don't
- 37:57think that's I don't think you ought to be doing that. Then you hold
- 38:02what Uh so I did? Lawrence Holmes, you lost me on that,
- 38:08and he lost all Chicago on that. There's just uh, this is dout
- 38:14desperate. They don't God, they don't fall falling so far out. Lord,
- 38:17Jesus Lord, I know I ain't been here since eighty five, but
- 38:22we wasted that pray on that boy just to feel he's sorry. God.
- 38:27Now I'm saying, I know you told me to send you a quarterback.
- 38:30Yeah, me told send your quarter I wasn't. I wasn't specific enough.
- 38:34God, I was. You said a big, fast, strong quarterback.
- 38:37Yeah, And I didn't say nothing about to touchdown store said nothing about you
- 38:42know, effectiveness. I didn't. I didn't put that party. He was
- 38:45six four and two thirty five. Real fast, Yeah, real fast wasn't
- 38:51worth a plug. NIA show. Right after this, some gunn on South,

- 42:16see sports jain't I'll sing even canny, welcome back to this one shock sholl
- 42:23out, this hoe shock wing Candy. Good morning to you out there in
- 42:27listening land. Glad to be here with you on this draft day Thursday.
- 42:32Remember the draft is over three days, so tonight at eight it's just the
- 42:37jump and it will go all the way basically until Saturday night. So I
- 42:44have a question, Yes, sir, if if you are tuned into the
- 42:50draft, Oh, I won't be tuned in. No. No, I'm
- 42:52saying if anyone who tunes into the draft on Saturday night, what does that
- 42:58say about that person? What kind of sick, twisted serial killer sits around
- 43:06in front of the TV for three days watching the draft? Like what kind
- 43:10of emotional profile should we make of those people? I mean, there's fans,
- 43:15and there's some people that plan and football is their whole sports life.
- 43:20The NFL, like we were talking about, you do have people who are
- 43:23just one sports specific Me. I didn't go to my own draft. I
- 43:30was just waiting around and I like to know who's drafted and team. But
- 43:36the whole conversation of the panel, the twelve people panel about who should be
- 43:43and all that puts me to sleep. If we could just do the order,
- 43:49like the commissioner came up there with all twenty I mean, thirty two
- 43:52picks already done. Then I watched the whole show, but that pick one
- 43:58person and then say watching it next on the board and then we go through
- 44:01this fifteen minute pen. Yeah, Washington's supposed to pick the guy who comes
- 44:07next. But you know, one of the things that we think about him
- 44:08is his numbers say this, but the other numbers say that. Well,
- 44:13I think that he's a good kid. Well he's got some challenges. Well
- 44:16who doesn't have challenges coming in as a rookie. Yeah, you know they're
- 44:20hoping to put him right behind that guy and get him started with some snaps
- 44:23very ear. You know, when he was in high school, he was
- 44:25the kind of guy that had a whole great deal of education from his coach.
- 44:30His grandmother was incarcerated when he was seven. Washington has made their selection
- 44:39pick two. With the second pick the draft shoes, right, it's like
- 44:46pick like I went to the store and came back and y'all just still on
- 44:53two. You ever tried to distort yourself. You ever tried to do something
- 44:58like I'm gonna just let these seconds pass by real quick, and I'm gonna
- 45:00go put some dishes in the dishwasher. I'm over loader clothes and come back
- 45:05and they'll be on like four or five and you come back and they're like,
- 45:07uh, steal washing, just got eighteen seconds left. I put too
- 45:12much soap in it. That put too much, so that's what you be
- 45:14thinking, And then that's just how it is. Are y'all still on pick
- 45:16too? I just knew after that now y'all was gonna be on like fourteen.
- 45:21Come on, I just knew I could just watch the ticker on the
- 45:23bottom and see what's going on. But we still it too. I think
- 45:28like between picks it was fifteen minutes and now it's ten. But now it
- 45:30feels like it's longer, like it's taken longer. And why do we need
- 45:37to know so much? I have no clue you've written and had specials on
- 45:44all this. I don't know what else more you're gonna tell me about Marvin
- 45:46Harrison's third Marvin Harrison an outstanding receiver and his dad is in the Pro Football
- 45:54Hall of Fame. Basically, other than that, I don't need to know
- 45:58much. What the of his dog is with his favorite ice cream snack that
- 46:04has nothing. His favorite show is The Fear of the Walking Dead. Now
- 46:07that's kind of interesting because a guy his age usually watches shows like what and
- 46:14You're sitting there like, man, these two That's what I think, because
- 46:16I'm like, how do you get this job? How do I get the
- 46:20job that goes like his favorite shows Fear the Walking Dead, and then they
- 46:23cut me a check for that. Well, I do know, Big Kenny.
- 46:27We talked about your JTS checks, Jets Jet having picked number ten.
- 46:31I man from New York who's a Raider fan. They are at thirteen.
- 46:36And remember this draft day, so you can have people move up move down
- 46:39in some of these slots based on who is on the board. The Dallas
- 46:45Cowboys command you, Greg have picked twenty four. I still don't get this
- 46:50whole thing where they talk and put down Dak so much. I still don't
- 46:57get it. Yeah, but I don't get the whole quarter The only person
- 47:02is supposed to be responsible for winning quarterback. I don't even know how that
- 47:07is possible. I thought it was a collective fifty three and men in like
- 47:15forty coaches were supposed to win the game, well some kind of way.
- 47:20Any loss of win by Dallas that was supposed to do more. So he
- 47:23threw five touchdowns, but when he got the ball back with seventeen seconds right
- 47:31and no timeouts needed to go ninety yards, he didn't get the job done.
- 47:36The great ones do it. The great ones do it. DA that's
- 47:39the problem. Say, you out here making excuses, but the analyst said,
- 47:44only one person in football history ever did it, and he's great.
- 47:51No, actually that was the only game he started, but we remember him
- 47:54because he went down in history. You making excuses, DA, if you're
- 48:00held it that real little brother. They brought him to death. I mean,
- 48:06and he be in there trying. He come to the sideline when they
- 48:09do the little interviews, he'd be just as humble and you know, respectfully,
- 48:15man, I'm trying and I'm out there playing my heart out and just
- 48:17trying. And they be like, ah, how could you do that?
- 48:21You had a nineteen point lead, Dak and you blew it. Yeah,
- 48:24Like, no, I didn't. I didn't let them score. I don't
- 48:28play cornerbacks. I played quarterback. You're making excuses. But that's where Dallas
- 48:34is at twenty four. So the draft tonight, it can be some shuffling.
- 48:37It'd be interesting. It's always interesting when there is some trades. The
- 48:39trade party the only thing to kind of make the draft. It's interesting.
- 48:44Right now, we expect three quarterbacks to go in the first three picks,
- 48:51so unless somebody moves down and move up, it'd be so it's very rarely
- 48:57some draft. You know, NBA have a little more trade in the NFL.
- 49:00NFL kind of always been more standard, but it'd be interesting to see
- 49:05how things work out, what happens to happen in the NFL for there to
- 49:09be a even the beginning of an overcorrection of what I call the quarterback experiment.
- 49:15And I always use my own JTS Jets Jets Jets as the benchmark for
- 49:21that. Always draft a quarterback number one kid always comes to them, stays
- 49:25about three years, then it disappears into obscurity. Well, you need like
- 49:30the Nick Foles and more of the Rock Purty to win the Super Bowl.
- 49:38And it just shows because remember sports a lot of times is mimic, right,
- 49:44So you start having a couple of guys that were not top ten picks,
- 49:47right, not first rounders win Super Bowl more frequently. Right then that
- 49:55he'll he'll wait, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm here. Give me
- 49:58a command. Maybe I don't need quarterback war give me a running back first.
- 50:01Not getting that quarterback in the second round on the third round on Saturday.
- 50:05We'll be back with more to Sports Jock Show right after this. Count
- 50:07it up, Count it up, Count it up, Count it count it

- 53:16really just be thankful. You should be mad at nobody. Man,
- 53:21nobody. I'm looking for that. I'm looking for that dude that stole my
- 53:24shoes off my feet in the fourth grade so I can buy him some most
- 53:29shoes. Look, I'm doing good. That's a song that Future and Drake
- 53:31did to get together. That's what they get together each other. I got
- 53:38in a conversation earlier in this week. I came Elijah one that you e
- 53:45versus Steph Curry in and who's better at basketball? Who had a better career.
- 53:55Who is the better player out of those two? In your opinion,
- 54:01Kenny, it's almost comparing like Bugs Bunny to Daffy Duck. Both were really
- 54:08really great leading spoilers of a character, but they played different roles different Being
- 54:23the purest that I am and believing that the era of the NBA was when
- 54:30Elijah Wan was in, it was a little bit more bumping bang. I
- 54:35would say, okay, uh, because they were like different players and great
- 54:45in their own way. I would say Steph because he was more influential,
- 54:54okay, slightly. And when they asked me, I told him them Hakem,
- 55:00because Hakeem Elijah one could have made the Hall of Fame on any end.
- 55:10He can made it from a defensive standpoint like a Ben Wallace, Yes,
- 55:15or he could have made it from an offensive standpoint like a Dominique Wilkins.
- 55:21Yes. That's why Steph couldn't get in the Hall of Fame from his
- 55:24defensive work. He has no body of work. Steph can't get in the
- 55:30hallway of his house from his defense. And it was simply as that.
- 55:34It was. It was what do we do against Hakeem on both ends of
- 55:38the court, he's an all time leading shot blocker and as a center.
- 55:44Take that out of he's a top ten steals yes as a center, Yes,
- 55:52number one all time in blocking shots. Get that out of here.
- 55:54In number I think ten eleven and steals, I think only player. Yeah,
- 56:01he's some guy that's only player. So just from a defensive point,
- 56:06he's like I think maybe he was around twelve and rebounds all time, So
- 56:10just from that he could get in just from those numbers like a like a
- 56:15Tim the Kem Baiman Tombo or he can go down here and give you the
- 56:21dream shake. That seemed to revolutionize that kind of finding that kind of guy
- 56:29that was more agile. I wasn't just a hook shot or that to that
- 56:34that Patrick ewing where you do to go across the lane. It started becoming
- 56:38is he doing moves? He got a little half fakey Bryant went to this
- 56:44man to teach him how to do moves in the post. Other guys have
- 56:51have gone and given him a couple of dollars for two or three days session
- 56:54just to teach them that kind of stuff. And that's why I said,
- 56:58because sometimes you know, yes, Steph is up. Steph ushered in an
- 57:01era where you just take bad shots from anywhere and make them anywhere. That's
- 57:09how I see it. Those people would take those shots and their coach would
- 57:13take them out again. I get you would get but now they taught you
- 57:19just to move as close as you can. It was taught that way.
- 57:22It wasn't that it was out of your range. You were not supposed to
- 57:24shoot the ball, but right behind the three point line. Steph brought in
- 57:30with the allowed it, which is energized. You know, every everybody,
- 57:37girls, Yeah, every everybody that they got Yeah, everybody thinks they got
- 57:42it from anywhere. Twenty years ago. That was a bad shot. Even
- 57:45if you made it, That's what I'm saying, the coach would still pull
- 57:47you to the sideline and what are you doing? Tell him like I didn't
- 57:53tell he wanted to take that shot right, No, no, no,
- 57:57not on him. And that just goes to show you how unpopular those shots
- 58:02were. He don't even want to be known as like the father of that
- 58:06style because a lot of coaches did not appreciate that. Yeah. So the
- 58:10only I gave it to a Keem, I mean, Elijah onon Haquem is
- 58:15that if you can make it on both sides of the court. Yes,
- 58:19that's why we say Jordan, That's why Lebron has to have some defense.
- 58:23He's been all time to Kobe, the guys that we talk about up there.
- 58:28So Elijah One brought you Jordan's offense and Bill Russell's defense, and that's
- 58:37why I give it to him over Steph Curry. But that was the big
- 58:39debate the Lakers tonight late night. Just cannot beat Denver. I would change
- 58:46it up, darvinham with I would start Jackson Hayes at center and go with
- 58:53more of a bigger lineup. I would stop going with that same lineup trying
- 58:58to defeat them. You've played them like eight nine times in a row and
- 59:02you haven't beat them. Now it's time to just start playing it off the
- 59:08cuff. My front court would I would let Confused start on Joker, confuse
- 59:15the muscle, and now when I get to the fourth, I would go
- 59:17back to letting a d right, but just to throw a little wrinkle,
- 59:22maybe to get some more boards and things like. I got to mix it
- 59:27up because they're nine and oh and nine, right, so trying it the
- 59:31old way they call that insanity, right, Yes it is. Yeah,
- 59:35yeah, they've now lost ten yeah, ten straight, ten straight games,
- 59:40so we got to throw that out. Man, that ain't even gonna work.
- 59:44Actually, I just might start Lebron ad and three other guys whatever.
- 59:50Take them got hey, all, y'all, take y'all. We got what
- 59:52else could happen? It ain't like we can we're oh and ten. Yeah
- 59:58yeah, but for what I've seeing, guess that's somebody break down the game
- 1:00:01like. They're also predictable, offensively correct, that's there. Yeah, they're
- 1:00:07soap, they're so like, Okay, Lebron's gonna do this, and he's
- 1:00:12gonna do this for the whole second half. And that's that part what I'm
- 1:00:14saying. But if you put now with Jackson Hayesen there, it's something we
- 1:00:20didn't have on tape. Now after this game, we'll have it on tape,
- 1:00:22right, But now we got someone else having to guard different people that
- 1:00:30they haven't been used to guarding because you keep coming with the same lineup.
- 1:00:35I would just switch it up like that, simple as that. The notther
- 1:00:37mean that laid in the game. It doesn't get back to what we used
- 1:00:39to do. But right now the Lakers need a new remedy. The Heat
- 1:00:43beat the Celtics last night. As I said, I don't think they're gonna
- 1:00:45win the series. But the Heat is one of those teams. Their philosophy
- 1:00:50through pat Riley and Eric Spostra is next man up. They practiced that way.
- 1:00:55That's how they built their team. People are on the court that way.
- 1:01:00You don't see people get benched and start soaking. It is the day
- 1:01:04I call your number. Yeah, I'm gonna need twenty five. Now it
- 1:01:07might be three four weeks from that. Right now, I'm just sitting Wait.
- 1:01:12We'll be back with more than Sports Jock Show right after this. Jn't
- 1:01:35Bowl, Wayne Or of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Dandius coming up next.
- 1:01:40And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three quarters of
- 1:01:45Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece of financial security, yet only forty
- 1:01:50nine percent actually have life insurance. When I was twenty five, me and
- 1:01:53my wife were just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:01:57Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What about you? Will
- 1:02:00you be leaving benefits or bills? When I was forty, with a kid
- 1:02:02in college and bills piling up, I was worried how my family will survive
- 1:02:06without me. That's why I made an appointment with the insurance informant. Information
- 1:02:09gives you power and life insurance gives your family security no matter what stage of
- 1:02:14life you're in. Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:02:16leave my family that bills or benefits. The answer is easy, whether you're
- 1:02:20twenty five or fifty, whether you earn a little or a lot, all
- 1:02:22you need is the insurance informant to help you build a foundation of security,
- 1:02:28because without you, your family will have two options, benefits or bills.
- 1:02:31Which legacy will you leave behind? Log on today benefits or bills dot com

- 1:02:45classroom of the day because they teach students important life lessons like teamwork, accountability,
- 1:02:51and perseverance. School sports are so much more than a game. They're
- 1:02:55about developing the whole person. That's why they're an essential part of every student's
- 1:03:00education. Encourage your student to participate in the last classroom of the day interscholastic
- 1:03:06sports. In Georgia. This message presented by the g hs A and the
- 1:03:09Georgia Athletic Directors Association. Enough enough, I don't have any why so serious
- 1:03:21suck and we hold the world ransom for Wayne, excuse me while I whip
- 1:03:27this out show I'm broadcasting live and it led her to a chat. This
- 1:03:31this is the sports shock Ship with Wayne Dandy. You may began up,

- 1:03:55Welcome back to this boy shock shop, this boy shock. Wayne cannot more.
- 1:04:00Wanting to you out there listening. Land glad to be here with you,
- 1:04:01Bick, Kenny comand you Greg in the building. If you missed any
- 1:04:05of that first hour. As we go off the air, you can go
- 1:04:10to Apple Podcast, Amazon Podcast, Spotify, Deezer, Audible, or iHeartRadio
- 1:04:16and catch the in Shire show. We're talking about the draft tonight, eleven
- 1:04:23hours away from that twenty twenty four NFL Draft, only the first round.
- 1:04:29As I said thirty years ago, I got drafted at the fifteenth pick,
- 1:04:33which I knew had the sense that I would not go in the top three
- 1:04:40or four picks. After five, I think I might even made a wage
- 1:04:44with my agent. We picked kind of where I was going to go in
- 1:04:46the draft, so I was able to go to church. It ain't nothing
- 1:04:51was funnier than taking my Jewish agent to the Southern Baptist a missionary Baptist church
- 1:05:00Lort Jesus as we started here on the threshold of greatness for this young brother.
- 1:05:10Amen. Amen, this was entertaining. Jersey was able because the draft
- 1:05:15then, as I told you coming to you, Gregory, was two days.
- 1:05:18They used to get the first three rounds in on the first day,
- 1:05:23but the draft started at one o'clock. This draft doesn't start the eight on
- 1:05:29a Thursday. That's what I'm saying you. Definitely, it is truly something
- 1:05:32I don't understand how I'm suposed to wait around to pick thirty two from Kansas
- 1:05:36City. Uh, you're talking about midnight twelve thirty long time if you're on
- 1:05:45the West coast. Maybe, yeah, so if teams are taking all of
- 1:05:48their time, it might be one. It to be one or two.
- 1:05:53I know. That's what I'm saying. My quick draft would be midnight.
- 1:05:57Yeah, it's a good twelve forty five. It could be four hours by
- 1:06:00the time they get to the Chiefs. But the Bears have the first pick.
- 1:06:04The Commanders have the second Washington, New England. Both of those three
- 1:06:10teams are expected to draft quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Who is it, Drake May
- 1:06:17Jason Daniels? Are those three? I prefer Jadon Daniels if I was Chicago.
- 1:06:25I'm just saying from what I saw watching him young, I can throw
- 1:06:30the ball capability, got a lot of upstars. I think Taylor Williams make
- 1:06:36me feel like I've seen the best of him. Jaydon Daniels makes me feel
- 1:06:43like yet to come. Does that make sense? Yeah, that makes complete
- 1:06:47sense. And sometimes that's what happens. You draft a guy, you call
- 1:06:51him a bust, but it's not a bus. He's giving you the same
- 1:06:54thing he was giving you when he was at Georgia Tech. Right, you
- 1:06:59just want him to give you. Just thought he was gonna go go up
- 1:07:01like we saw we see like ant man. I didn't see this man at
- 1:07:06Georgia. He was nice, good athlete, could dunk on somebody. Now
- 1:07:11he's taking reservations. You come out to have court. He has a little
- 1:07:16notepad. I mean, he's doing an old style. He ain't even got
- 1:07:19no fun. You got an old style, you don't get no little buzzer.
- 1:07:25He gonna get on micarophone. Now he's asking people who would like something,
- 1:07:32and and people listening. And to me, did he say something to
- 1:07:35I think I'm seventeen. Did you say something to He's serving up whoever likes
- 1:07:40and they getting so hot. But I didn't see that at Georgia. I
- 1:07:43thought, man, you know, maybe be a good solid, you know,
- 1:07:46six man, you know, But I didn't see another Dwayne Wade.
- 1:07:49That's what he reminds me of. That's that's who he of d Wade.
- 1:07:54He's the modern day equivalent of what d Wade that style. He's just tall
- 1:07:58enough, but he ain't really tall. He just gots that game. We
- 1:08:02have a couple of comments. Charlie Johnson says that Lakers need to get that
- 1:08:09preacher we was talking about from Chicago to do a prayer I think in and
- 1:08:24then our New York listener who's a Raiders fan, wants to know if Pennix
- 1:08:29will be around for the Raiders to pick without trading up. I think he
- 1:08:33will. At thirteen, I think he still will be on the board.
- 1:08:39When you look at the draft, as we said, the first repicks Arizona
- 1:08:45is still thinking and going with Kyler Murray. The Giants just gave Daniel Jones.
- 1:08:51We haven't seen any trade in them. Tennessee is kind of what be
- 1:08:57the next place that may want to go quarterback? Now, if I'm the
- 1:09:01Falcons, I said this before, I would draft whoever is the next quarterback.
- 1:09:06I would do me a Green Bay Packer situation, right, I would
- 1:09:12draft with Kirk Cousins. There. I do understand if we don't need you
- 1:09:16to do nothing right now, but you learn correct, you're our backup quarterback
- 1:09:21barring injury with Kirk once we get him back. This is a two year
- 1:09:27we're looking for you to take over in year three. That's what I would
- 1:09:30do. I would do the Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love kind
- 1:09:34of thing where they all kind of say even as I say. With Kansas
- 1:09:38City, Patrick Mahons was the first round pick. Patrick mahomes due date to
- 1:09:44actually really be a starter was his third year. In those first two years.
- 1:09:47If there was something that to have put him in there, they did,
- 1:09:50but they never put him in there with this take us to the glory
- 1:09:55until his third year. No, that was year year two. What's that
- 1:09:59it's second year he became the starter and win. He won MVP. Oh
- 1:10:02oh, that's what I'm saying. Said the first year. Wellkay, I'm
- 1:10:04sorry, but that first year he didn't get drafted with the pressure to go
- 1:10:09back. Right now, it's Alex's job learn, get the pace, get
- 1:10:15your feet wet. That's what you want to put But Michael Pennix. But
- 1:10:18the most likely scenario for the Falcons they will not go for that nine is
- 1:10:23Chicago, So then you become Michael Pennix. The j T. S chis
- 1:10:30Chicks. Chicks are in the same situation. I would say, the Falcons
- 1:10:33are in you know, the guy that's pulling the trigger is old at best.
- 1:10:39Maybe give me two years with Aaron Rodgers. Really, that's all I
- 1:10:43got. Really, this really would be this last year. He hadn't gotten
- 1:10:47hurt. Just the dude who dropped back and got put out for the sea
- 1:10:54didn't get touched. Now, so whoever you get might need to be ready
- 1:10:58to go. But if you see some kind of action, if bot Nicks,
- 1:11:01who would be like the fifth But there is a good you just have
- 1:11:04to keep your eye and if you get nervous, if you got somebody that
- 1:11:08all jump. If you're the Raiders, didn't go ahead on and jump,
- 1:11:13don't even waste worrying. If you can make the trade with somebody like a
- 1:11:17Chicago who has nine and you have thirteen, they might be willing to deal.
- 1:11:23Just jump right up in there and get who you do it and put
- 1:11:27it to bed. It's possible that the Vikings could get a quarterback and there
- 1:11:34at eleven, and then the Broncos at twelve, even though they trade it
- 1:11:38for Zach Wilson. But so I would think if the Raiders are ready,
- 1:11:44they may have to jump in front of them, right. That's why I
- 1:11:45said the first team that probably is willing to deal is Chicago because they have
- 1:11:54the first pick. And then if all they're doing is having picked thirteen,
- 1:11:58that's still a high pick, right what they might want to grab anyway,
- 1:12:01because you at thirteen probably could still get, like I said, someone like
- 1:12:04a brock Boers to go along with it at thirteen. So there's hope.
- 1:12:11But I would see how if I saw that tonight, Jared easily how the
- 1:12:16Raiders moved up sports shot thirty years ago, your name got called number fifteen?
- 1:12:25Do you ever does the gravity of that ever impact you. The fact
- 1:12:31that out of all the people in the world, I mean, being drafted
- 1:12:35in the top twenty, top fifteen is a major, major thing in sports.
- 1:12:41The fact that you are one of those names that that will live in
- 1:12:45perpetuity forever, and you know you can say I'm one of those. Do
- 1:12:53you ever think about it and be like, boy, you better put some
- 1:12:56respective in your voice when you talk to me. Does it ever make you
- 1:13:00think like, man, I'm a bad dude, or do you just take
- 1:13:01it with I was fortunate? You know, it rears its head when you
- 1:13:05get in conversation with people that did not play that feel like their voice of
- 1:13:13authority on the game exceeds mine and it makes me have to either leave the
- 1:13:20room, not engage in conversation with them, or bite my tongue because after
- 1:13:29about one a minute in twelve seconds of your rhetoric where you think you know
- 1:13:34the game because you read somebody else's highlight, when they get to that part
- 1:13:41where they say, you, man, you don't understand football. Yeah,
- 1:13:44that's when you ride right. That's when that temperament of how long I played,
- 1:13:49when I was drafted, All that stuff rears its head more often because
- 1:13:55I'm willing to listen to any opinion, as you know on the show,
- 1:13:58and I think everybody's opinion. I'm listening to learn. But that's where we
- 1:14:02did then. But then there's that stephen A. Smith. It's a lot
- 1:14:06of stephen A. Smith's out here that are that's where they know the game
- 1:14:13backwards and forward from television right right. And I don't deduce anything that someone
- 1:14:21does if I haven't really kind of at least been in the field, I
- 1:14:27don't have to have been as great as the person. But who am I
- 1:14:30to argue with someone who did three tours in Afghanistan about what it is to
- 1:14:36be at the front line? Right? You may you don't understand. I
- 1:14:41can't believe y'all be missing them shots. You don't understand what we take you
- 1:14:45nine days to invade y'all was doing, sleepy don't understand more. Man,
- 1:14:49that's the problem, you know, Like that's how people sound. And I'm
- 1:14:55like, well, if I and if somebody could transport you there or me
- 1:14:59there, we don't win a walk. I tried to from all the shooting.
- 1:15:01We don't got up right, man, I gotta go. I just
- 1:15:04signed up with this this kill thing. Everybody died, and that's part of
- 1:15:08your personality that I try and draw from because you're willing to listen a man,
- 1:15:13shut up. You signed dumb. You know that's me. You sound
- 1:15:15so stupid right now, Bro, why are we even having a conversation together.
- 1:15:18I'm stupid for talking to you. That's usually me. We'll be back
- 1:15:23for more the Sports Jock Show right after this. Just playing no games?
- 1:15:33Just don't think then they phoned. Don't playing no game? They should be
- 1:15:38left Tony, I'm playing no game. We don't go awayne. More of
- 1:15:45the Sports John Show with Wayne Gandy is comming up next. Have you noticed
- 1:15:51bad behavior has become normalized at interscholastic athletic events. Some fans seem angry,

- 1:17:47Welcome back to this spot. Shock Show I'm this sport shock Wayne Canny.
- 1:17:50Good morning to you. A couple of birthdays here today and going into
- 1:17:55the weekend. Head coach Dan Mullin's fifty two years old. Herm Edwards,
- 1:18:01often outspoken head coach a long time in the NFL, went back and dipped
- 1:18:08his toe into some college football. I think Herm when he went back to
- 1:18:13college, the modern day athlete doesn't necessarily fit some people that have age,
- 1:18:20and I don't think they fit Herm Edwards seventy years old. George Iceman Curvin
- 1:18:28who just always must have looked old because he's only seventy two, and he
- 1:18:34looked seventy two in seventy six. He was. You'd have seen the pictures
- 1:18:41of the Iceman sitting on the ice through went the silver basketball. He was
- 1:18:45seventy two with the silver jumpsuit, one piece. You seen him. He
- 1:18:48was sixty three years old. Eight. I thought he was more back with
- 1:18:53you know. Yeah, I'm not say I thought he was closer to eighty.
- 1:18:59Yeah. Yeah, So only seventy two is the Iceman arch manning of
- 1:19:04the nineteen year old and nephew of Eli and Peyton, who's still trying to
- 1:19:10pave his weight. I can't wait to see him get on the field.
- 1:19:13I think it helps. I keep telling you you only need like two real
- 1:19:15years now to be the first pick, and if that means a little patience
- 1:19:21and learning and get on in the field when you should, so you can
- 1:19:26kind of miss some of those down days just by experience. But Arch Manning
- 1:19:30nineteen Keenan Allen, we talked about him with the Bears thirty two to the
- 1:19:33Wide Receiver. Lizzo thirty six years old, disippear, Lizzo completely discope,
- 1:19:42she retiring. She doing something because they kicked off the super Bowl and you
- 1:19:46ain't seen no herd front Lizzo Georgiana Brewster, fast and furious. She plays
- 1:19:55Van Diesel's sister right in those movies. She's forty four years old and Lizzo
- 1:20:00gets a clock. Uh. Gina Carlo Esposato Sean Carlo Esposito Exposito sixty six
- 1:20:09years old. He's been doing a lot of great stuff here lately. I
- 1:20:14always remember him from Do the Right Thing. He was the guy that got
- 1:20:17his sneakers stuff. Yeah, so that's how far he goes back. Yeah,
- 1:20:24he was come. He ain't got no proper on the wall long career
- 1:20:30and he's been in some I think he has his own like show that's about
- 1:20:33It's about because he plays some sort of car drive the driver, I think
- 1:20:36it's the name of that. Yeah, so he and he was. I'm
- 1:20:41just saying it's one of those underappreciated. Has been in a lot of stuff
- 1:20:44and he his I think he really reinvented himself with the role as was it
- 1:20:53Gus Frayne, Gus Frayn and Breaking Bad. Gustavo Frame was someone that was
- 1:21:01That character alone set him up for whatever he'll have in the future. Kevin
- 1:21:08James, comedian TV actor, fifty nine, Jet Lee sixty one, t
- 1:21:14Pas t On Watkins is fifty four. Stany Kattik is forty six years old.
- 1:21:20Melaiah Trump is fifty four, Aaron Judd, the home run hitter for
- 1:21:26the Yankees thirty two, Chatting Tatum forty four, Rene Zellweger fifty five.
- 1:21:33Al Pacino is ady forty. I'll ever do a sports movie when I was
- 1:21:40right, yeah, any given Sunday, any given sense. I knew it
- 1:21:43was something he did that was around sports, and I was trying to find
- 1:21:47Robert Denair when I think of one I think of the other Robert Denair I
- 1:21:50know, did the fan, Yeah right, they are. They're sort of
- 1:21:54the same almost person if you if you look at it, and about the
- 1:21:59same age. I think they both just had kids. Robert de Naro is
- 1:22:01maybe eighty three, so like you're apart. Al Pacino is eighty four.
- 1:22:08Who else? Did we have it? Gently sixty one? That's it and
- 1:22:12the big fundamentals. Tim Duncan is forty eight years old. Is Tim Duncan
- 1:22:18Tupaca State is upset with Drake of using an AI visual or voice voice one
- 1:22:26of his newest songs. Did they say how much they're suing Drake for?
- 1:22:30They didn't say how much for, but they did send a cease and desist
- 1:22:34okay, So basically he didn't call and get permission. Right with AI,
- 1:22:39I didn't think I had to. Well see those o the things they're still
- 1:22:43ironing out about AI. You're trying to say that, and almost I would
- 1:22:48imagine some of the great area would be, who do I sue? I
- 1:22:54didn't create it? This was something that a robot created, but I used
- 1:22:59it. So you tell me to cease and desist, you know, and
- 1:23:05you obviously didn't get permission, but season desists usually come before we give you
- 1:23:11a dollar amount of what we want in return. Okay. A Tesla car
- 1:23:15shut down at a car wash while it was in the car wash, commands
- 1:23:18you, Greg was telling me, And they feel like it was due because
- 1:23:21of all the technology that was around it made it freeze. Is that what
- 1:23:26happened, Greg? Yes, it's since it's a it's an electric truck and
- 1:23:38mixing with water, that's kind of thing that that's what's been happening. So
- 1:23:42it's happened. It's happened more than once. Yes, Okay, so they're
- 1:23:46learning too. I mean it's still early technology, so I guess you can't
- 1:23:51almost like you can't fully submerge it into a wet right situation? Different between
- 1:23:57like you know how like with a watch, it'll tell you is water resistance
- 1:24:00or is water proof? Yeah? Yeah, two yeah, yeah, waterproof
- 1:24:04will be up to thirty meters or something like that. But now if this
- 1:24:11vehicle is struggling when it gets wet, then what happens when it rains?
- 1:24:15I can I can imagine that there are some environments where the rain is as
- 1:24:19yeah, is as forceful as the water pressure in a car here in Atlanta.
- 1:24:26We've had some storms recently that were that torrential. So are we going
- 1:24:31to look at possibly electric vehicles just stalling out all over the highway when they
- 1:24:36get wet. Or was this when you said because it's so much technology?
- 1:24:42I thought maybe because of all the sensors and the automatic car washes, they've
- 1:24:45got so many computerized when this comes on, and that I'm saying, it
- 1:24:49could be the whole combination of water and the technology around it, it's just
- 1:24:55triggering it to the fuse out in a sense. And guys, as we
- 1:24:59go to break, can tell me if I'm wrong. But I wasn't mad
- 1:25:02at this story. Glenn Sullivan, Senior, fifty four years old, out
- 1:25:08of Louisiana. He was charged of cues and found guilty of rape of a
- 1:25:14fourteen year old. He was sentenced to fifty years and castration. Where is
- 1:25:23the story in this? You know what I'm saying. Why wasn't I upset
- 1:25:28about the castration part? I'm still not. I'm saying, where is the
- 1:25:31I'm asking why did you bring this up? Because you know you don't You
- 1:25:34rarely hear that. You hear the fifty years, but you rare hear.
- 1:25:41Was it like a physical castration or the chemical castration? Did it say that
- 1:25:45I am from what artist? It was physical? Yeah, let's hope.
- 1:25:48Physical, Yeah, let's hope. But Louisiana, you know, I'm off
- 1:25:55the Deep South. Cool they you know, they got their own laws down
- 1:25:59there. Yeah, baby, And that's how I said. You know,
- 1:26:01I try to be general, you know, not jump the judgment. I'm
- 1:26:08not. I'm not. I was kind of all right with that. I'm
- 1:26:11like, cut them all, you know, we'll be back more to Sports
- 1:26:14Shock Show right after this. Gammy, you give me that you might be
- 1:26:20like, but give me that Halloween and the life at the Beim Don't go

- 1:26:33next. How was your job to school? Let me tell you. I
- 1:26:39had to get my iced coffee first. I just can't seem to put it
- 1:26:41down. My favorite rapper just announced a tour. If my phone was puzzling
- 1:26:44and crazy, I'm so excited HI to text all my friends right there to
- 1:26:46talk about it. Then someone started calling me and let's try that again.
- 1:26:51I turned my phone off right away. I never drive distracted. Visit Stomp

- 1:28:19not just love it. You don't have to call I am idea. It's
- 1:28:23like unshall welcome back to the show. On this what shof wing Gandy commands
- 1:28:27Greg Big Kenny in the studio Big News over the last couple of days,
- 1:28:30a big story, a lot of conversation around, did everybody wants to talk
- 1:28:34about Reggie Bush getting his two thousand and five Heisman back after fourteen years?
- 1:28:40Command you, Greg, if you can help me with this. The only
- 1:28:43thing about the Heisman that is in question for what I know is did the
- 1:28:47Heisman Foundation or the powers that be at the Heisman ticket or did Reggie give
- 1:28:56it back? Which one was it? I believe he gave it back because
- 1:29:02I know a lot of the story said he voluntarily gave it back. But
- 1:29:06did they have a rule for him? And he just did it. He
- 1:29:11just beat him to the punt, right like, I'm not argue about it
- 1:29:15right now. The he voluntarily gave it back, so they never found any
- 1:29:20precedent to take it right Okay, Well, they kept it as though they
- 1:29:27had lawfully taken it back, right right they because when the n c a
- 1:29:34A vacated that entire season for Southern Cal, so they vacated his records as
- 1:29:42well. Yeah, and I remember Southern Cal even superimposed his picture out now
- 1:29:49here. It is so because I've been in this conversation with a lot of
- 1:29:53people todays, Reggie Bush as far as performance, won the Heisman. But
- 1:30:01and it's a big butt trying to justify that now because of Nils and all
- 1:30:10that allows you to be innocent of the past. Doesn't set well with me.
- 1:30:16Me either, me either. It just doesn't set well with me.
- 1:30:21I would love to have all of my past defenses forgiven because we are in
- 1:30:27a much different time now, you know what I mean. The sensibilities are
- 1:30:30so much different now that all the little charges I racked up. Man,
- 1:30:34y'all aught to quick tripping about that little stuff. Bruh. The world,
- 1:30:38the world so horrible now. Stuff I used to do make it seem And
- 1:30:42that's my biggest defense. I hear in my conversations with five six seven people
- 1:30:45the last couple of days about this and their mine. Oh well it's legal
- 1:30:50now, so you should go back. Well, if that's true, then
- 1:30:53we got to go all the way back, all the way back back,
- 1:30:56s mu Eric Dickerson, Craig James, those guys who put on the death
- 1:31:00penalty, come on, man. Back in the early eighties, they took
- 1:31:03the program death Penalty to him out for they were out for two years so
- 1:31:08you're gonna call them and give them their money back. You need to come
- 1:31:12on now. We can get money. Plus in those two years we gave
- 1:31:15we gave Reggie his trophy back. Wayne Gandy played with the Auburn Tigers guy
- 1:31:20named Eric Ramsey in nineteen ninety one recorded secretly that coach died my head coach
- 1:31:27at the time, and some of his staff members and a booster had given
- 1:31:30him money so he could stay off out of the dorm in a trailer with
- 1:31:34his newly wife and their newly baby, and he recorded it, which in
- 1:31:41turn led me in my senior year of ninety three and in ninety four,
- 1:31:45those teams could not be on TV. We couldn't go to the SEC championship,
- 1:31:50and we couldn't go to the national championship. In ninety three we were
- 1:31:54eleven and zero. We were the number one team in the SEC, which
- 1:31:58means that they would have sent us to Atlanta. Where is my check?
- 1:32:03Then? Period? I would also went to a bowl game. Bowl games
- 1:32:10they give you money, gift. Where is all that for me? The
- 1:32:14year after I left, that team went ten to one. They also won
- 1:32:17the SEC. So two years the twenty one and one where is all that
- 1:32:23give me. I got fired for failing the drug test. What about the
- 1:32:27coaches that got fired that missed out on their money? Right, the schools
- 1:32:30in fractions that got fined right for breaking? Where are we gonna retron saying
- 1:32:36it's legal now in a lot of states. I got fired for a drug
- 1:32:40test. Now it is legal. I want my job at And that's my
- 1:32:43point, comanchie, It's Reggie Bush, just like I. I've used several
- 1:32:49examples. Last couple of days, Bien Kiddy, Ben Johnson beat Karl Malone
- 1:32:54in the hundred. I think it was Carl Lewis. I think it was
- 1:32:57the eighty eight Olympics. They found that Ben Johnson u steroid from Canada,
- 1:33:04right right, and that made Carl Lewis the winner. Yes, why hasn't
- 1:33:10Reggie Bush been disqualified and Vince Young become the winner? Vince Young in two
- 1:33:14thousand and five came in second, came in second. So Reggie needs to
- 1:33:18either prove his case of innocence because he has a guy, the Lake guy,
- 1:33:25I forget his name, Malcolm Lake, Carl Lake, something like that,
- 1:33:29who says that he had you know, he didn't have a signature from
- 1:33:31Reggie, but he had pictures of Reggie's mom and dad living in a house
- 1:33:38that he was renting, and everybody seems to be okay with things being And
- 1:33:45I'm like, well, if you take this stance in life, that means
- 1:33:48that what you're charging the day when you pass that college is for free,
- 1:33:55right, then anyone before this is a pay for college. Right. I
- 1:33:59want my money to get their money back, That's what you're saying. I
- 1:34:01want my money back, just like if they increase something, if they say,
- 1:34:04okay, anybody found guilty of this now has to do five years.
- 1:34:09So now they go pick up people from the past, and y'all got to
- 1:34:13do the extra year year. I'm finna have to go back. So how
- 1:34:17does it work? Come in? It doesn't. It does not work.
- 1:34:20That's what I'm saying, that it doesn't work, and that I think the
- 1:34:27reason that they allowed Ready to get it back is because now money changes everything.
- 1:34:33We can't have one of the and he stayed familiar with football his entire
- 1:34:38fourteen years of being under the scrutiny of having had to give his trophy back.
- 1:34:42So now he's gotten it back. And just like you said, what
- 1:34:45does that say to anyone who has ever been suspended, fired, released,
- 1:34:53written up for something that was a crime or an infraction when they committed it,
- 1:34:58and now are abilities are just different. Do we go back and because
- 1:35:04now the m m A is a popular sport, I get my assault conviction
- 1:35:10reduced or just thrown out because they're beating people up for sport. Now I
- 1:35:15beat this dude up because I was having a bad day. Why y'all tripping
- 1:35:19that was? That was a sanctioned as sanction fight in that octagon. I'm
- 1:35:25saying that was sanctioned. But they said I was cruel and brutal, and
- 1:35:30that was just based on the fact that y'all don't see cruel and brutal a
- 1:35:34lot. Now it's it's every day they they pay, advertisers pay to show
- 1:35:40it to you. So surely what I did is not shown in the same
- 1:35:45light. Right, it's different now everybody's changed their perspective fight this. Then
- 1:35:55only correction would be go back and when you University of Michigan with the Fab
- 1:36:01five, whatever money you charged them, then you they need their money back
- 1:36:08then period. Well there, you, Chris Weber, needs a public apology
- 1:36:14because you said it was wrong. It's right now. It's right now.
- 1:36:18He was always in the right, but you're suspending him from Michigan campus for
- 1:36:23twenty years. He was in the right. They were trailblazers ahead of their
- 1:36:28time. Do you think like this may have been a since the advent of
- 1:36:32the nil, like a test like, okay, what's the public perception of
- 1:36:39if we if we give Reggie as heisman back? Then going forward, we
- 1:36:45can look at all these other cases, look at Auburn and SMU Michigan basketball,
- 1:36:49and look at all these other sanctions and if there's what kind of evidence
- 1:36:56there was and under the current guidelines, if they fall under that, then
- 1:37:02we can restore these records. I don't know about money, about you know,
- 1:37:08compensation, that's possible, But do you think like this is just the
- 1:37:13beginning of it. I feel like it could be the beginning of it,
- 1:37:15and we'll look at these of these previous things. I bring it up.
- 1:37:19I know that people will bring it up. Those people that had were had
- 1:37:24those grievances. If you set this precedent, I expect a lot of legislation
- 1:37:30to recoup that million dollars that you find me and my coaching staff or you
- 1:37:33got me fired I was due to make eight million dollars next year. Only
- 1:37:39reason they fired me is because you came in talking about some NC double A
- 1:37:42sanctions. You suspended Todd gir Wasn't it Todd Gurley for a game, for
- 1:37:48an autograph or something? Right? Right? He autographed or something like that,
- 1:37:54get signed a jersey, signed a jersey and they gave him a tattoo
- 1:37:58or something. Try trying to lock his grandmama. You know, it's just
- 1:38:01ridiculous stuff. And all of those people are going to come forward like,
- 1:38:04man, stop, I'm just saying it has to be both ways, the
- 1:38:09good and the bad. So instead of doing that, how about what was
- 1:38:14wrong then stays wrong then, because then you have to go back. And
- 1:38:19I'm just using different examples. There wasn't time you could marry a fifteen year
- 1:38:26old, Yes it was, then they said the laws different. You know,
- 1:38:30there's a time when you could have married two fifteen year old. Then
- 1:38:33they said the law was different. So with Reggie Bush, and I'm not
- 1:38:36saying Reggie is right or wrong, Reggie got put in a where he needs
- 1:38:43to prove because that is evidence. A witness is evidence. Jo I know
- 1:38:50it. That's the biggest evidence. There can be with people that are evidence
- 1:38:55and is the evidence. That's who they go to see. Did you see
- 1:39:01the crime? They looking for somebody to witness see And some people take it
- 1:39:05too far. Uncle CHILDI said, he's gonna give him his Kardashian girl back
- 1:39:13life. It could have been different, his whole his whole life, and
- 1:39:16for you, and here it is for you as we go to break that
- 1:39:23whole thing. What everybody was doing. How do you know they didn't get
- 1:39:27caught? What if they didn't what if they suppressed getting the money? Don't
- 1:39:32say it wasn't an advantage poor? What did he do in the field?
- 1:39:34Him being able to go to field without financial stress? That's why we got
- 1:39:38the whole n I L advocated right, Yes, him not having to worry
- 1:39:44about his parents and how much the trip costs to get them to see him
- 1:39:47and all that brings a certain stress level down. Yes, it does.
- 1:39:51Better performance comes with what less stress? Stress one of the keys. That's
- 1:39:56what they tell you if you're Google now, if you want to increase your
- 1:39:59before, lower your strength, increase your stress level. We'll be back more

- 1:42:30Pick Kenny commands you. Greg. In the building, we were talking about
- 1:42:32Reggie Bush getting his heisman back, and I know a couple of people was
- 1:42:35like, oh, you're taking it personal, and I'm like yeah, because
- 1:42:38I really was one of those people who felt like, hey, you cheap,
- 1:42:42but if you get caught, you gotta pay the penalty. Auburn got
- 1:42:46caught, We had to pay the penalty. Now you make me upset because
- 1:42:51now you're trying to say, no, that wasn't true. So now how
- 1:42:56you know you didn't mess up my draft status? I was a finalists for

- 1:43:20had to put it to bag because it was right. It was the It
- 1:43:25was wrong then, so and we broke the law. Right, you upset

- 1:43:32up where I might have been. I don't know that's true. Different levels
- 1:43:36of wrong. No, that's what I used to try, and that's why
- 1:43:42I used to try and tell them. That's what's confusing. No, command
- 1:43:45Greg, That's what I used to try and tell the law. Come on,
- 1:43:48man, that ain't really like wrang it's wrong tripping, But yeah,
- 1:43:54it was wrong robbing the quick quick trip and robbing the bank are the same.
- 1:44:00Wrong, it doesn't wrong is wrong, man, And that's the thing.
- 1:44:03Everybody want a different shade of it. And it's like, no,
- 1:44:06it's it's wrong, and there you go. But moving on, legendary Olympic
- 1:44:13gold medalist. Should all Olympic gold medalists from the past, now that they're
- 1:44:16paying, get a check. Remember this Olympic will be the first time the
- 1:44:20race itself, yes pays, Yes, gold medalists, yes, silver metal
- 1:44:27Well, four years ago, I want to go or whatever it was it
- 1:44:30two years ago to modify it was two or three years three, Yeah,
- 1:44:32because they had to have it off in a year. I want to go.
- 1:44:36Yeah, I want my check. Y'all changed the rules, right,
- 1:44:40I would like my check. The US Olympic people gave me a check.
- 1:44:45See that some fun I supposed to get one from the Olympics. Olympic.
- 1:44:50Yeah, I would need that one too. It's like my state income backs
- 1:44:55is. I don't just want the federal and be like, nah, you
- 1:44:58can skip that little other part. Run me all the coins. The Olympic
- 1:45:01gold medal is Michael Johnson, the Great Michael Johnson two hundred and four hundred,
- 1:45:06dominant in his time, That's one thing. When I said the chem
- 1:45:10and stuff, Big kennyw was like, how you saying from his time,
- 1:45:14all you can do is be great of your time. Yeah, somebody breaking
- 1:45:17a record or being does not diminish mentally. The record was forty six.
- 1:45:24That's what I was trying to run. That's what I was trained for,
- 1:45:28That's what I ran. Then after I said forty six, I retired.
- 1:45:33You had a chance to look at forty six. Oh I got to break
- 1:45:35forty six. That doesn't take away that I broke it first. And a
- 1:45:40lot of people like Michael Johnson is dominant as a track performer. Mister look
- 1:45:45at me. Everybody had to tune in the gold shoes and everything was.
- 1:45:48Michael Johnson set to launch a track and field league. So I guess everybody's
- 1:45:54just gonna try to see it. You know, we got pick a ball,
- 1:45:57so everybody gonna see if they can just kind of get some of that.
- 1:46:00A track and field league where I suppose you just all the races are
- 1:46:05for money. Well, I guess he's in the same mindset. If I
- 1:46:09get the race three sort of, yeah, I got the big names to
- 1:46:12come by, right, we can you know, sell tickets to this low
- 1:46:16race. We might as well have our own league. Remember years ago,
- 1:46:20early in Tiger Woods's career, they kept having a little fear that Tiger might
- 1:46:25go and set up his own league and be live. It eventually happened,
- 1:46:33but Tiger didn't do it right, and there was a fear. I guess
- 1:46:35Michael was looking at like every other sport now is if it's worth the gamble,
- 1:46:41Uh, if you could get the big names to decide, since you're
- 1:46:45coming off the Olympics, if you can get all the gold medalists to come
- 1:46:48over to your league and run. And NBC people are playing for sport content
- 1:46:55now, Yes they are, Yes they are. They're trying to fill you
- 1:46:58with a different That's why I pick a ball corn I'm quite sure that's what
- 1:47:00he was watching. Yeah, he was watching the corn hole championship. They're
- 1:47:05thinking, man, And then they saw the big that big oversized check with
- 1:47:11like one hundred thousand dollars for the first place winner, and he was like,
- 1:47:14for corn holes, are you serious? And then it was like,
- 1:47:18I know they'll come see people run. Some people think corner will be the
- 1:47:23next Olympic sport. But I think also that we would it would be it
- 1:47:29would bring American interest back to track and field because we know, like you
- 1:47:34know, there are a lot of sprinters that we know, but over the
- 1:47:36last twenty years, we don't really know anybody, Like Shikari Richardson is the
- 1:47:43biggest American sprinter that we know. And I think that outside of the Olympics,
- 1:47:50we're sold. Our American athletes are packaged and sold to us. Like
- 1:47:56by the time Shakari Richardson gets to the Olympics, she's already been sold to
- 1:48:00us as the world's greatest runner. Like, we don't know anybody outside of
- 1:48:05her, and we put so much on her because that's how we see her
- 1:48:10here, that's how they present her. It's not like she's number seven in
- 1:48:14the world. She's the USA's fastest runner. Is how they portray her.
- 1:48:19So, you know, they get to the Olympics and we have so many
- 1:48:25hopes and dreams hanging on their shoulders that after the Olympics, what do they
- 1:48:29do? Where do these athletes go? Some of them, the gymnasts,
- 1:48:32they're eighteen nineteen when they win the gold and they retire, there's nothing for
- 1:48:39them to do post Olympics. So to have a leak like this and people
- 1:48:43are willing, as we could see with the Mike Tyson fight coming in July,
- 1:48:47people are and even to me, Wwe is making a resurgent. People
- 1:48:55love the spectacle. Yes, they love the spectacle. The quality of the
- 1:49:00spectacle doesn't matter, Yeah, as much as the event of the spectacle.
- 1:49:09It's social media is so much like that. You try and create content and
- 1:49:13you go into this thought process that you want to be the best digital quality
- 1:49:17and all, and then you see some dudes sitting in his closet with a
- 1:49:20flip phone filming itself with thirty million followers, and you realize they just want
- 1:49:26the content. They just want the content. We'll be back with more of
- 1:49:28the Sports Jock Show right after this. The best Living or Dead is now.
- 1:49:34Let's talk moyoid right now, and my eyes more red than the devil

- 1:49:49now let's talk about something exciting. Life insurance. Three quarters of Americans believe
- 1:49:54that coverage represents a critical piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent
- 1:50:00actually have life insurance. When I was twenty five, me and my wife
- 1:50:02were just getting started with our family and thought, we live forever life insurance.
- 1:50:05What's the last thing on my mind? What about you? Will you
- 1:50:09be leaving benefits or bills? When I was forty, with a kid in
- 1:50:12college and bills piling up, I was worried how my family will survive without

- 1:50:26leave my family with bills or benefits. The answer is easy, whether you're
- 1:50:29twenty five or fifty, whether you earn a little or a lot, All
- 1:50:31you need is the insurance informant to help you build a foundation of security,

- 1:51:21the sports Giant, Wayne Gandy. Now it's time for the school board when
- 1:51:29we put a spin on life and sports and how they intermingle on the Sports
- 1:51:34Jack Show with Wayne Gandy. He's talking now today Mega pull no coffin out
- 1:51:44of your mouth and wait to paranoid foot threat. Hey, let's get it,
- 1:51:46broth Bot the money power respect the last one is better. Say yes
- 1:51:49a lot of goofy's. What is checking me? Welcome back to the Sportshock
- 1:51:53Show. I'm the Sport Shock Wayne Candy Walmart, the megal giant that it
- 1:51:59is is going back to the human checkout lines in a couple of states,
- 1:52:03all due to stealing death. As some of you go through that automatic line,
- 1:52:12you are you know, missing one or two items. You know some
- 1:52:16reason the milk got all the way over on the purchase side and you ain't
- 1:52:23put across the screen right so don't have to do a lot of products.
- 1:52:28Remember, I just need the milk. If I can get the milk and
- 1:52:29eggs through free, I stayed, yeah, because milk, milk and eggs,
- 1:52:35Yeah, thirty dollars and that's for the half gallon and the half dozen
- 1:52:41eggs. So I was amazed that that process works because these things are so
- 1:52:46sensitive with their scales. So if you scan bread and then put a can
- 1:52:55that doesn't weigh the same, and they'll say, please put item or make
- 1:52:58sure you scan item type thing. But what I did not know is there
- 1:53:01are people who will say, go find the steaks, and then they'll peel
- 1:53:05that little sticker off of the chicken and put that on. So it scance
- 1:53:13and it weighs about three pounds. And so but now the steak costs fourteen
- 1:53:17dollars, chicken costs eight. So that's money is lost that way, and
- 1:53:23then just people bagging up stuff and walking out with it. Angel Reese,
- 1:53:29the all American out of LSU. I just want to send a shout out
- 1:53:32to you for being drafted high, for entertaining us. And now some advice
- 1:53:36just coming from a former athlete, Start focusing on basketball, leave the social
- 1:53:45media alone. I thought that I'm the shy Barbie. I just bought a
- 1:53:49car. Don't fall into those pit holes. Next thing you know, somebody
- 1:53:54spots your car, they break in it, or spot the car robbed you.
- 1:53:59But focus on basketball. That shot, Barbie, still the shine.
- 1:54:04Making yourself a target. You get up there and somebody instantly saw you call
- 1:54:12yourself that and you can't. You ain't from here to the club and want
- 1:54:16to do something to you. You don't know. Shot like that. Just
- 1:54:19go up there and play ball. Become the greatest player you had all the
- 1:54:23talent. You're an outstanding player. Thank you for entertaining me. I'm really
- 1:54:29at that phase. I don't have a lot of that comparison. You better.
- 1:54:31I thank you for getting out there, living up your name and balling
- 1:54:36out. It's just just leave that social media Instagram. Somebody gonna be following
- 1:54:40you to your condo. Still the shot is still the shot. And shot
- 1:54:49ain't no love angel, trust me. They they Jack Pippin Jack Pipping when
- 1:54:56he was there. I'm talking about in the middle of his six ring n
- 1:55:00the six six times. Yeah, they caught him with you, remember they
- 1:55:01caught him with the heat on the seat but Scotty said he can't be out
- 1:55:05here like that, no more, robbed him in a Scottie pipping jersey and
- 1:55:09a Scottie pipping jersey. Trophy said yeah at the trophy ceremonial. And that's
- 1:55:15how Chicago sound too. That's Chicago. Man. You robbed me, you
- 1:55:18got on my jersey, I'm saying now, and you this the trophy,
- 1:55:21Sarah. But just the parade, we at the victory parade. You done
- 1:55:26caught me walking to the parade and then robbed me. Hey, tsked me
- 1:55:29for my autograph and then told me to great game. Scotti gonne run that
- 1:55:31night. Yeah, just pumpy braids. Chicago is not the Omoos. No,
- 1:55:41it's gonna stop that, you know, letting people know what you got
- 1:55:44play basketball and hit him with a little that Jake Cole, Look, hey
- 1:55:50he got it, got nothing, bro, I ain't even got you out
- 1:55:53here on one hundred and seventy three acres like a I pat in my pockets
- 1:55:58six dollars. I get by a lot of people at the store and places
- 1:56:01I go Komanche because I go with the man. I ain't got it.
- 1:56:04They look at me, and they look at the size and they think and
- 1:56:06then they look, Nah, he ain't got nothing. He barely getting buy
- 1:56:11from what I got. I'm the king of pat my pockets to Take two
- 1:56:18wins and Take two company is the Take two Interactive Software them and artists.
- 1:56:29Tattoo artists Jimmy Hayton have been suing NBA two k over Lebron James tattoos?
- 1:56:39Is that right? Comanchi Greg says since ongoing since twenty seventeen? Basically from
- 1:56:45what you were telling me, this company was saying that in these NBA games,
- 1:56:53Lebron's tattoos are prominent, right, and they felt like they needed little
- 1:56:58money original artwork. That's real art artwork, right? Is that what it
- 1:57:02was? Commands? Okay? Did they win? Who's winning this case?
- 1:57:09Because the one story I read it sounds like they may be. It says
- 1:57:12that the battle over Lebron James tattoos has been ongoing six twenty seventeen and longer
- 1:57:18with the tattoo artists. Take two wins lawsuit over Lebron James tattoo is the
- 1:57:25heading I read? They lost the lawsuits? Okay? Okay, So the
- 1:57:30jury unanimously decided with Take two. Who is the agreeing that the developers' rights
- 1:57:39to use his likeness extended to his tattoos, okay, which is going to
- 1:57:45start being a point of contention. So maybe that will be something that I,
- 1:57:50as a tattoo artist, start contractually doing with the people who are famous
- 1:57:57that are wearing my tattoos. If you're gonna wear these tes tattoos, you
- 1:58:00can give them permission to use your image and likeness, but not my artwork.
- 1:58:06If the artwork is included, it'll have to come with a percentage of
- 1:58:11licensing fee for me. It does say that the tattoo artist Jimmy Hayden was
- 1:58:16originally suing over six tattoos he created for James, but the US district judge
- 1:58:23ruled against the artists this year, saying Hayden could only sue over two of
- 1:58:28those six tattoos, the tattoo of stars that are on his arm and another
- 1:58:33of James's mother her name Gloria. So I guess those are the only two.
- 1:58:39Maybe he could prove he did, but the other four he could not
- 1:58:42sue over. The US government has agreed to pay one one hundred and thirty
- 1:58:46eight million dollar settlement for what they are calling an FBI botched investigation of Larry
- 1:58:55Nazir and the people that we're assaulted. We'll split that one hundred and thirty
- 1:59:02eight million dollars. I watched my investigation to hey, watch time to find
- 1:59:12us guilty. I thought we need to investigate that, and we are in
- 1:59:15the ocean. The truth is he will throw your to the ocean. It's
- 1:59:23time to wrap things up. On the Sports Jut Show with Wayne Ginny.
- 1:59:47When you designs of the ocean, it gives us watch out testamenty to Vin
- 1:59:50would like to person thank you for tuning in today or Monday for any segment,
- 1:59:56any minute, any hour that you listen to us. We hope you
- 2:00:00were entertained. After we go off air. You missed any of the show,
- 2:00:03you can go to Apple Podcasts, Amazon Podcasts, Dzer, Spotify,
- 2:00:10Audible, or iHeartRadio and hear the replay. For years now, over the
- 2:00:17last couple of years, Rory McElroy has been a fixer of loyalty for the
- 2:00:28PGA, losing friends, threatening leagues, telling live and those players they're common
- 2:00:34as traders. They are all kinds of isms for signing with the live tournament,
- 2:00:42taking the bag, as they say, only to find out that for
- 2:00:48Roy's loyalty is a fifty million dollar payout, you know, because see how
- 2:00:56it all works together, commntion, what decide you for going over there to
- 2:01:00live in Saudi Arabia? League for the bag? Right? But now I
- 2:01:05found out you was doing all that because you already knew they were gonna pay
- 2:01:10you for your loyalty. Fifty million dollars one of the payouts for Roy and
- 2:01:15other guys like Tiger and Jordan Speed. Those guys got money as well.
- 2:01:19But the fixture of the flag that has been waving has been Rory. He's
- 2:01:25been outspoken telling people they need to be kicked out, they shouldn't be invited
- 2:01:29to all that. Only to find out that Roy had a big payday.
- 2:01:32Yeah, if I had fifty million dollars, I'll show you a lot of
- 2:01:34support too. Why would not? Hey, hey, Roy, if you
- 2:01:40don't leave, we're gonna give you fifty million. Now I can't believe y'all
- 2:01:43leave, y'all lame, bro What happened? What happened to game? What
- 2:01:49happened the game? Broh? So for that, Roy McElroy, you always
- 2:01:54knew it was a bag waiting on you, and then want the other golfers
- 2:01:57to go get there and knew he had a bag waiting all your tea check.
- 2:02:00Right, I'll tell you thought Rory sho at least be like Tiger.
- 2:02:16He got a hundred million and never really gave my answer. They asked him.
- 2:02:19Man, you know, I'm pretty set down in Orlando, right right,
- 2:02:27right, It's got nothing to do with me. I'm just out here
- 2:02:31with charging from this boy shop, showing. As we always say, on
- 2:02:34Thursday, We'll see you in the future. Peace,
