- 0:24Now let's open our Bibles and study God's Word.
- 0:30I just want to start out by saying a huge thank you to you
- 0:34all. We've always been well supported
- 0:39by you. We've always had encouragement
- 0:43and postcards and emails and, and and support and everything
- 0:47from you. I've, I have never felt alone
- 0:50while we were over and and and out there.
- 0:52And I just wanted to say the God, we've always known he's
- 0:57been with us and we've always known that you've been with him.
- 0:59And, and I wanted to start out by just saying a huge thank you
- 1:04for all that you've, all that you've done for us.
- 1:07And Thailand is a, is a difficult place to minister.
- 1:10It's a, it can be a very discouraging place to minister
- 1:13it sometimes, but I've never, I've never had to do so
- 1:18wondering about my foundation, wondering if we've been
- 1:20forgotten or anything like that. We've always felt you guys there
- 1:23and so huge thank you. So also we have T-shirts back
- 1:28there. It's actually this T-shirt we're
- 1:31selling. Or if you're on my support team,
- 1:33just let me know and we'll just give you 1.
- 1:35I just wanted I, I brought a mostly just to say thank you
- 1:38for, for taking care of us and, and letting us and for just
- 1:43helping us to reach out to, to, to Thailand.
- 1:49I want to talk, I want to start out this talking a little bit
- 1:51about Thailand. So Thailand is it's a Buddhist
- 1:56country, it's 92% Buddhist if you can imagine that 92% after
- 2:03that is Muslim, 5% and then who knows whatever else.
- 2:07And then you get down to touch to Christians where we are 1.2%
- 2:13of the people out there, 1.2% little bitty group.
- 2:20Christians are very rare out there.
- 2:22And of that 1.2%, the vast majority are Catholics.
- 2:27So it's like, and, and it's traditional Catholic.
- 2:29Basically it's people who you know, they're not kneeling in
- 2:33front of Buddha, they're kneeling in front of Mary or
- 2:35some other statue, right? A lot of times that's what you
- 2:37get out there. The next biggest group out there
- 2:42is the Church of Christ who will let you know that they're the
- 2:44one true church, followed by the 7th Day Adventist, which is
- 2:47huge. Also another one true church.
- 2:50And then and and and then you get down so you can see what I'm
- 2:54saying. It's getting down smaller and
- 2:56smaller and smaller to people who read the word, people who
- 3:01are following what the what what the gospel is.
- 3:06The missionaries out there and the non denominational churches
- 3:09have a huge influence as does shoot as the whole, the whole
- 3:14missionary world is majorly influenced by the the health and
- 3:19wealth movement, Heidi Baker, Bethel, all that kind of stuff.
- 3:23It's inundated. Missionaries are inundated with
- 3:26that kind of stuff. So the chances in Thailand of
- 3:28actually meeting a Bible, believing Bible following
- 3:33Christian, it's practically impossible.
- 3:36It's very, very difficult to, to find someone out there.
- 3:39Like Thailand's been called the graveyard of missionaries.
- 3:44If you can imagine that the graveyard emissions, that's
- 3:46where we are. And even calvaries have, I've
- 3:48watched calvaries come and calvaries go right through,
- 3:51through, through Thailand. There's us in Bangkok and then
- 3:56there's another Calvary up in Chiang Mai, a wonderful church,
- 3:59awesome pastor up there. Chiang Mai is in northern
- 4:03Thailand and there's a lot of missionaries up there because
- 4:06they can get into Laos and, or I mean get into China and Burma
- 4:09and they, they do a lot of stuff up there.
- 4:11So this other church which is up there is pretty big, but has
- 4:16almost zero ties in it. It's almost all Chinese and
- 4:21Western missionaries basically. So it's, it's, it's a very,
- 4:25Thailand is a very difficult place to minister.
- 4:29And I'm going to go into that. I'm going to discuss a little
- 4:31bit about why that is and a little bit about the history
- 4:34there. But before I did that, I want to
- 4:36get into, I want to show you guys some photos of what it
- 4:38looks like out where we are. And so if we could pull up like
- 4:42the first of the photos, there we are.
- 4:48OK. So there, there we are.
- 4:50There is my wife Irena and Ben and Tashia.
- 4:53Ben and Tasha just went to school.
- 4:55Actually, this is in Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
- 4:57So I, I couldn't find a group photo in Thailand for some
- 5:00reason, But they're they're off going to school.
- 5:03And and that's, that's my wife Irena, who you just prayed for.
- 5:07So let's go to the next one. Here's our little group.
- 5:11This is just from this just recent, a recent meeting we had.
- 5:14We're a tiny church and, and this is actually, I mean,
- 5:18especially compared to American churches, but for an emerging
- 5:21country, for emerging like the very front lines, that's
- 5:24actually not bad. That's, that's fairly normal for
- 5:26for a place where they've never heard the gospel.
- 5:31Go ahead and go to the next one. So this is cool.
- 5:35So you can see how wide our church is.
- 5:38That's nudie. She's this little Cambodian girl
- 5:39who actually lives there. She lives in the church along
- 5:43with some like single. It's a place where we house
- 5:46single moms and and students and that kind of stuff.
- 5:51And I'll explain why in a minute.
- 5:52But you can see how it's just this little thin building and
- 5:55that first floor is where we have our, our, our worship
- 5:59services. And then it goes up like 4
- 6:02floors where, where, where people live there.
- 6:05So go ahead and go to the next one.
- 6:09So this is the second one. We've turned the 2nd floor or
- 6:12the second floor. We've turned the 2nd floor into
- 6:14like a podcast room or, or a place where we can present
- 6:17videos and make videos. This is huge.
- 6:20And this is turning, and I'm going to talk about that in a
- 6:22minute too, but it's turning into one of the biggest ways
- 6:25we're able to to do outreach. Go ahead and go to the next one.
- 6:29And then on the rooftop, we have chickens.
- 6:31So this is this. We actually use the eggs to feed
- 6:36the the kids. The kids can have the eggs from
- 6:38there every day. Although I have to say, we had
- 6:41to get rid of the chickens just a little bit ago because they
- 6:44were bringing rats, right? So here's what here's what our
- 6:47house looks like. We're on a we're on a soy, which
- 6:51is which it's a Thai, a little side street is called a Soy OK.
- 6:55And one side is a big St. called Ronkum Hang, named after King
- 7:00Ronkum Hang. And then the other side is a
- 7:03clong. It's a it's a canal where river
- 7:05taxis are cruising up and down on the canal.
- 7:08Right in the middle you have a spirit house, which is where the
- 7:11Thais will take a so they'll, they'll, they'll put like a
- 7:15little like a little house and there's little people in there.
- 7:18And that's where the spirits live.
- 7:20And our ancestors or whatever spirits were living there when
- 7:24they built the buildings, that kind of thing.
- 7:25But you'll go out there and you'll find drinks and food and
- 7:29cats eating the food and all that kind of stuff out there.
- 7:31So there's a spirit house in the middle when you come to when you
- 7:34come to our street, you have to you, you walk in and, and
- 7:38there's a giant arch over the entrance to our street and it's
- 7:41got like a huge dragon because the other side of the street is
- 7:45a Chinese temple. So I don't know if they made the
- 7:47street or we're actually our churches on the grounds of a
- 7:51Chinese temple or what. I don't know.
- 7:53But it's definitely the front. It's like it's the front lines
- 7:57right there when you walk in, on the left side is a statue of a
- 8:02horse and it has a scarf around it.
- 8:05And on the other side is a statue of a of a elephant and
- 8:08has a scarf because they believe that there's spirits in there.
- 8:11And So what you'll do is when you walk around town, every now
- 8:15and then you'll see like a tree. And if it's wrapped with
- 8:18scarves, it's because it has it has spirits in it.
- 8:21So let's go ahead and go to the next one.
- 8:24Oh, about the rats, it's OK because one of the girls who are
- 8:28living there, she eats rats. So she doesn't.
- 8:31It's not a problem. Those are not from our house.
- 8:33But she's not afraid of rats at all.
- 8:34To her, she'll kill them. She takes care of business for
- 8:37us. But we did have to get rid of
- 8:38the chickens. OK, go ahead to the next foot.
- 8:42So here's our little group, just such a sweet little group.
- 8:45This is when we did an outreach and there's Josie.
- 8:47I put this one to Josie. If you guys, she's on the left
- 8:51and she's in Kiev right now and during a tough situation out
- 8:55there, I bet. So go ahead to the next one, OK?
- 9:00One of the ways we do outreaches is every OK in, in, in Thailand
- 9:05when it's Easter, when it's Christmas, it's kind of surreal
- 9:08because like here Christmas, everything shut down.
- 9:12Not in Thailand. It's just a normal work day,
- 9:14right? Although every mall has
- 9:17Christmas stuff in it and they're singing, you know, deck
- 9:20the halls and all this, you know, the, the, the weather
- 9:23outside is frightful, which it's not.
- 9:26And, and even though they're singing that nobody knows what
- 9:28Christmas is. So what we'll do is we'll, we'll
- 9:30do an outreach on the street, Christmas, Easter and Songkran,
- 9:34which is basically where the whole country has a water fight.
- 9:37So water gun fight for the whole country.
- 9:39We'll do it every year And and we'll do we'll invite the kids
- 9:44in. We'll, we'll put food out on the
- 9:45street. Go ahead and go to the next one.
- 9:47I think we have. Yeah.
- 9:48So or we'll put we'll, we'll do ice and we'll do hot dogs and
- 9:52we'll say Souq Sanwan Christmas, Merry Christmas.
- 9:55Come on in. We'll invite people in, share
- 9:57the gospel, hand out gifts, explain how Jesus is, is the
- 10:02greatest gift of all. And that's, those are the ways
- 10:04we do it. Go ahead to the next one.
- 10:07And then afterwards, of course, you know, big thing in Thailand
- 10:11and churches and all is just eating together Thai style where
- 10:15you gather, you know, you'll have you'll order all kinds of
- 10:18food and everybody shares all the food together and it's Thai
- 10:21food. So it's awesome.
- 10:23And I think that's the last one, right?
- 10:27Oh, there we go. All right.
- 10:29So ministry in Thailand, What's that like?
- 10:33Ministry in Thailand is it's a slow burn.
- 10:37It's it, it's a long term thing. There's, there's, there's a big
- 10:42question that missionaries have a lot.
- 10:43For example, it's and, and, and the question goes like this.
- 10:47For 200 years, missionaries have been going to Korea and there's
- 10:52a lot of Christians in Korea. For 200 years, missionaries have
- 10:56been going to China and there's a lot of Christians in China.
- 10:59For the same amount of time, 200 years they've been going to
- 11:01Japan, No Christians in Japan and for and same thing in
- 11:06Thailand, 200 years they've been going to Thailand, almost no
- 11:09Christians in Thailand. Why?
- 11:11What's the difference between these two countries and these
- 11:15two countries? And, and the consensus is, I
- 11:19mean, it could be just the Lord wants to move here and he's not
- 11:21moving here yet. God's timing, I don't know, but
- 11:25one thing that's different is Korea and and China are very
- 11:29kind of facts based. They want to, to kind of,
- 11:32they're willing to argue to get to the truth.
- 11:35They're willing to, to, to come in and kind of get in your face.
- 11:38Chinese especially very willing to get into your face and come
- 11:41to an understanding. Thailand and Japan are not like
- 11:43that. They value agreement.
- 11:46They value harmony. They don't like a, a kind of a,
- 11:50of a challenge too much in that way.
- 11:54Remember in Acts 17. So remember in Acts 17 where
- 11:57Paul, he's going and he's, and he's going to talk to the, you
- 12:01know, Epicureans and the Stoics and he goes to the Areopagus and
- 12:04he has, and, and they're like, what is this babbler?
- 12:06What does this babbler have to say?
- 12:07And, and, and he says this thing and they laugh at him and it
- 12:09goes back and forth. That's very Greek, right?
- 12:13And that's actually our tradition because the Romans
- 12:17came out of the Greeks in Europe came out of the Romans.
- 12:20And that's our culture. That's, that's what we're used
- 12:23to. And in fact, when I was in
- 12:25Russia, I mean, they'll, they'll get in your face and in Russia,
- 12:29they'll be like, why, Why are you so stupid that you follow
- 12:32this thing? And you have to have, you have
- 12:34to have very thick, you have to have very thick skin to minister
- 12:37in Russia, Thailand, You have to have very sensitive, you have to
- 12:41be very, very sensitive because you can't, you'll just scare
- 12:45people away, right? And so it's, it's a very, it's
- 12:49a, it's a very different world. One of the girls in the church
- 12:53gang brought a good example. She brought this guy and he
- 12:56comes in and he's been going to church with us for a while.
- 12:59And he's still Buddhist, but he's still coming and he's still
- 13:01listening. And I asked him once, I said,
- 13:03hey, so you're Buddhist, right? And he's like, yeah, what do you
- 13:08guys? I mean, do you believe in God?
- 13:10Do you, do you, do you believe that there's a God?
- 13:13And he's smile, shrug, but he's done.
- 13:17He's not going to say he's not going to tell me.
- 13:19And I said, so do you believe in like, what do you think?
- 13:21You know, what do you think happens after you die?
- 13:24And in Thailand, it's a very strange question to ask.
- 13:27They don't want to think about that.
- 13:29So just asking. And he's like, I don't know,
- 13:32where do we come from? Evolution.
- 13:35They all know evolution. The people I talked to,
- 13:36definitely they've been trained in evolution.
- 13:38But you say, so where did the world come from?
- 13:41Shrugs. I don't know.
- 13:44It's that, it's that kind of a, it's, it's, it's that kind of a,
- 13:49of a, of a approach that you have to let me go this way.
- 13:54So Thais, they're Theravada, they're Theravada Buddhist.
- 13:57There's Buddhism and there's Theravada Buddhism.
- 14:00So, right, Theravada Buddhism is a very special kind of Buddhism.
- 14:05It's it believes so, so it holds on to Buddhism, but it also
- 14:09believes in spirits and the rocks and the trees and, and
- 14:12there's spirits everywhere and it's a constant battle to try to
- 14:16please the spirits. That's where the focus is.
- 14:20When I was talking to this guy, Ging, the one who brought him
- 14:23said Dave, we don't ask those questions, right?
- 14:26That's those are the questions that that we don't go.
- 14:29Instead, they're busy trying to please the spirits or trying to
- 14:33fulfill these things so they can they can have good luck, right?
- 14:37So a tie is raised as a Buddhist and they will go.
- 14:44They will they didn't usually reason their way into going.
- 14:48It's not because they thought they read a book or something
- 14:50and they decided to follow Buddhism.
- 14:52Buddhism is in everything. It's in the military, it's in
- 14:55the schools, it's in everything you do and everywhere you go.
- 14:59And so it's just absorbed, right.
- 15:02So I had a girl once, for example, she she, she was, she
- 15:08asked me, she came up, she said, Dave, if I become a Christian.
- 15:11And this is the kind of thinking that you have to work with.
- 15:14If I become a Christian, who's going to feed my parents?
- 15:18And I'm like, well, I mean, what do you mean?
- 15:22You know, I mean, you're a Christian.
- 15:24We're supposed to take care of our parents.
- 15:26She's like, yes, but I can't go to the temple anymore.
- 15:29And I'm like, wait, your parents are at the temple?
- 15:31And so you go through this conversation, you find out her
- 15:34parents are actually dead and she goes to the temple to feed
- 15:37her parents. And so she has to go there and
- 15:41she has, she goes there and she brings food and she brings
- 15:44whatever and offers it to her parents.
- 15:46And she's afraid that if she's Christian, she can no longer go
- 15:49to the temple and no longer feed her parents.
- 15:52And so you get into this. It's a, it's a long, confusing
- 15:56trudge trying to, you know, you need to talk about salvation.
- 16:01But before salvation from what right and salvation from you
- 16:06know, and, and is who's going to judge?
- 16:08And is there sin? What is sin?
- 16:10Why do I have to? Why do I have to worry about
- 16:12sin? What about my parents?
- 16:14What about this? And so again, it's a long, long,
- 16:17it's a long thing. Now, if you're, if you're a Thai
- 16:22and you want extra good luck, What they will do is every now
- 16:25and, and you, or, or if you want to fulfil your obligations,
- 16:29they'll shave their head, put on an orange robe and become a monk
- 16:32for sometimes a month, sometimes a few months, sometimes a year.
- 16:36I don't know. It depends on, on, on, on what
- 16:38you need. But it's, it's, it's constantly
- 16:41trying to manage the spirit. You're trying to manage your
- 16:44spiritual situation by doing things now.
- 16:49Nobody really understands the goal of Buddhism.
- 16:53And do you guys, do you guys, does anybody here like, have you
- 16:56guys ever studied Buddhism? Does anybody know what's the
- 16:58goal of Buddhism? What's the goal?
- 17:02Yeah. So.
- 17:03So here's the goal. So Buddhism says life is pain,
- 17:10right? Life is pain, and it comes from
- 17:14your desire to your desires of things, your desires for love,
- 17:18your desires for food, your desires for things.
- 17:21And so as long as you have this desire, you will experience
- 17:26pain. This is what Buddhism says, OK.
- 17:29And so in America we, you know, like like Hollywood, Hollywood
- 17:33Buddhism thinks, oh, it's great because then you can die and you
- 17:36can be resurrected and you can die and then you can be
- 17:38reincarnated and you can do as much as you want.
- 17:42In real Buddhism, the reincarnation thing is a curse.
- 17:46It, it, it's something that because you failed and the goal
- 17:50is to stop being reincarnated. In fact, in real Buddhism, the
- 17:54goal is to start rejecting more and more of the world and more
- 17:58and more of your desires until finally you, you separate from
- 18:03the world and you cease to exist.
- 18:05And now you've become a Buddha. The goal of the Buddhist, the
- 18:10real goal, if you know, if you've like actually follow it,
- 18:13is to stop existing, right. But Thais don't live like that
- 18:19because they're humans. They're just like us.
- 18:22And so the goals are to just normal, like I want, I want a
- 18:26girlfriend or I want to have nice things or I want to be
- 18:29happy or I want to have friends. And so, so you can see the
- 18:34contradiction, whereas Buddhism says don't do this.
- 18:37We're using Buddhum to do this. But they don't see a
- 18:40contradiction. Even the chants like like if you
- 18:44ever, if you ever stop by a temple, you hear, you'll hear
- 18:47them chanting. It's like, and it's a mind
- 18:52numbing. It's, it's, it's trying to, to,
- 18:56to, to, to to keep out. It's, it's just, it's just, it's
- 19:00just a, my a separation and a mind numbing thing.
- 19:05But when a Thai person becomes a believer, they become the most
- 19:12wonderful believers, servants loving when, when, when the seed
- 19:21like when, when you have a chance to spend enough time with
- 19:24them so they can absorb the gospel and they start to think
- 19:29and they start to ask and a root starts to go down and the light
- 19:32starts, starts to turn on. The fellowship is so sweet.
- 19:37The servants hearts the love for one another.
- 19:40And it's, it's just so beautiful.
- 19:42And this is my favorite thing. This is why I'm more than happy
- 19:48to spend 1112 years there when a tie gets saved and they see
- 19:54these, they see the truth of a God who loves them and the, the
- 19:58desire to share it with their family is overwhelming.
- 20:02So how have we made these inroads?
- 20:04So, so the problem is how do you spend enough time with them so
- 20:09that they can absorb it and you don't scare them away, right.
- 20:13So we've, we've been doing two things.
- 20:14First of all. We, you guys saw the, the place
- 20:18where, where we've, you know, for years we've had a place
- 20:21where people can live. And so the, the, the agreement
- 20:23is this, you guys can come and you can live in the church for
- 20:26free. And so we have single moms and
- 20:29students and we had couch surfers for a while.
- 20:32We had Europeans, European hippies just like coming in and
- 20:36staying in the place until they brought bed bugs and we had to
- 20:39put a stop to the hippies. But, but before that they would
- 20:43come. And our one rule was you have to
- 20:45go to church. And we had some of the best
- 20:49conversations out of that. Europeans, I was amazed at how
- 20:53little they know about Jesus Christ.
- 20:55They know about candles, they know about churches, but and
- 20:58they know, you know some of the big things.
- 21:00But the but how salvation happens very, very rare.
- 21:05So what we get is we get ties living in the place and it's
- 21:08good. It, it does it's good two ways.
- 21:10On the one side they're able to, to, you know, plug in and Start
- 21:14learning and start growing. And on the other hand, it makes
- 21:16us a safe place in the neighborhood.
- 21:20So in the neighborhood, you know, we're the only white
- 21:23people there and we're a little bit scary, right?
- 21:26Some kind of some white guy usually in Thailand, it's not
- 21:30for a good reason. And so we're a little bit, we're
- 21:34a little bit nervous about us, but since there's Thais living
- 21:37there and they can meet people and we have like a big cross on
- 21:41the on. We have a big white cross that
- 21:43lights up the whole neighborhood at night.
- 21:45It's like the only light on the street is our cross, which is
- 21:47pretty cool. But because of that, we're,
- 21:49we're, we're safe and it's been able to, you know, we've been
- 21:52able to, to, you know, we've been able to put those, those
- 21:56roots down. And that's one of the things I
- 21:58wanted to say. If you guys support us, you pay
- 22:00for that place and you pay for, we've got three kids living
- 22:06there. Well, two kids living there now,
- 22:07John and Nudi Cambodians. And we had another little girl
- 22:11recently, Sarah's most beautiful little girl.
- 22:14And we have some, another couple ladies who are staying there as
- 22:17well. So you support that.
- 22:20And that's one way we've been getting to know people.
- 22:22Now the second thing came along with COVID, which again the C
- 22:28word, I get it, Thailand was locked down hard, right?
- 22:34Really, really locked down. And so we couldn't, we couldn't
- 22:39do a lot of things. So we decided to, we again start
- 22:41putting our ministry online and we started doing videos and we,
- 22:44we, I would do it, it would go interpreted and then we would
- 22:47put it on YouTube and then on Facebook.
- 22:49Because in Thailand everything runs through Facebook.
- 22:51We would pay to send it out all over Thailand.
- 22:54And so next thing you know, I mean, I think one of the last
- 22:58few I did, we'll put one out and we'll get like 5000 likes,
- 23:02right? Which in Thailand is unheard of
- 23:04for a Christian. It's a, it's a Christian thing.
- 23:07And, and the thumbnail goes out and some guy like, well, the
- 23:10thumbnail of this guy saying, repent, be baptized, follow
- 23:13Jesus and we'll get 5000 likes on that.
- 23:16And I, I realize everywhere else that's nothing, but in Thailand
- 23:21about Christianity, that's a big deal.
- 23:24So that's, that is one of the things that I really want to.
- 23:27That's what one of the things that we raise support for us to
- 23:29be able to, to, to push that out because sadly, the town square
- 23:37now the town square, it used to be, you could go out to the town
- 23:40square and share the gospel in places.
- 23:42The town square now is in your hand, it's in your pocket, it's
- 23:45the phone and it's safe for ties, especially because there's
- 23:48no, it's not, it's not like a confrontational type of thing.
- 23:51It's not a challenge. They can ask questions, they can
- 23:55turn it off if they want or whatever.
- 23:56So that's, that's a little bit about Thailand.
- 24:00That's about the ministry that we've been doing Thailand.
- 24:02So I want to kind of expand it now and we're going to actually
- 24:05get into the Bible study, the Bible study portion of this.
- 24:10Let's go to Matthew chapter 28, verse 19.
- 24:22And I want to, so I've been doing missions for the like 25
- 24:25years. I was a missions pastor here for
- 24:2710 years, right? And I have a concern over the
- 24:31years that I've been watching growing and something which has
- 24:34been on a burden which has been on my heart.
- 24:35And I want to share that. And we're going to, we're going
- 24:38to read verses 19 through 20, the last verses it says this.
- 24:44Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
- 24:48them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
- 24:52teaching them to observe all things that I've commanded you.
- 24:55And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
- 24:59Now, this is the most missionary verse of all.
- 25:05It's like everyone knows it's typical, right?
- 25:07The, the, the mission pastor is going to go up and talk about
- 25:10Matthew 28, you know, predictable.
- 25:13But The thing is, everyone knows this has the go verse, right?
- 25:16It's and, and, and a lot of people walk away with this just,
- 25:19yeah, go, go, go. We need to go.
- 25:22But I have some bad news. These verses are barely
- 25:26happening in the world right now.
- 25:29And I'm not talking about people going there are people going all
- 25:32over the place. I'm talking about the rest of
- 25:34the verses, teaching them to observe all things, right?
- 25:39Making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of
- 25:43the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- 25:46So now we get to the problem. In this world, there are 1.6
- 25:54billion Buddhists across Asia, and that's just Buddhist, right?
- 25:58I don't even know how many Hindus are there.
- 26:00Probably maybe another billion, maybe.
- 26:03I don't know, right. And then how many, how many
- 26:05Muslims are there? Billion maybe, I don't know
- 26:08Hindu, I mean, is Shinto, Zoroastrians, Europeans who
- 26:13become pagans Again, this is the issue that we have.
- 26:17This is this is what's going on out there.
- 26:19Did you know there are places in this world where there is
- 26:23absolutely no representation of Jesus Christ at all?
- 26:27If you walked into a village and you said, hey, do you know
- 26:31Jesus, they'd be like, maybe he's in the next village.
- 26:36I don't know. He didn't live here.
- 26:37They would have no idea what you're talking about, right?
- 26:41There's places where they have no idea that there's one God to
- 26:45them. There's thousands of gods,
- 26:46right? There's places in this world
- 26:49where there are no Christians to be salt and light, nobody to
- 26:53point to Jesus, no radio, no videos, no church on the corner,
- 26:59nothing. And I remember when I got saved,
- 27:02right? And, and maybe you guys went
- 27:05through the same kind of thing like me.
- 27:06So a lot of us, we get saved through a crisis.
- 27:09Me, my, you know, my girlfriend. I don't even want to go into it,
- 27:14but it was a bad deal with a girlfriend.
- 27:15My, my heart was broken. And my mom, who had always
- 27:19shared the gospel with me and raised me up to be a Christian,
- 27:21just told me, Dave, you need to get to a church.
- 27:23You need to, you need, you've been making other people first.
- 27:26You need to make Jesus Christ 1st.
- 27:28And she was right, But I had someone to tell me to go to, to,
- 27:33to Jesus, someone to tell me to go.
- 27:37These other people, they don't have that right.
- 27:40Maybe you reason things through. Maybe you, you know, you, you
- 27:43didn't have to go through a hard time.
- 27:44You, you're one of the ones who like, like I have this friend,
- 27:47he was watching Jeopardy on TV and this lady goes, hi, my name
- 27:52is whatever. And my goal is to read through
- 27:53the Bible in a year. And he goes, huh, that's a
- 27:56pretty good idea. He read the Bible, got saved and
- 28:00became a pastor actually, which is cool because of some lady
- 28:04which you'll high 5 in heaven someday.
- 28:07But The thing is again, the best these people can do when, when,
- 28:11when one of these people in one of these places can do say for
- 28:15example, their father passes away or they lose their job or
- 28:19everything gets ruined or you know their their family, who
- 28:23knows? The best they can do is get some
- 28:27incense. Put it in your hand.
- 28:29Stand before a stone. Just stand before a stone who
- 28:34can't hear. He can't, can't help them.
- 28:38It's a it's a blind. It can't give them a future.
- 28:41It can't give them comfort. It can't, it can't do anything.
- 28:45The best they can do is stand in front of this and just hope that
- 28:48something goes OK or hope that some spirit is going to help
- 28:52him. And those spirits are not going
- 28:54to help them. The Spirit should hang out in
- 28:56those places, right? I try to remember sometimes and
- 29:00by the way, it's not when, when, when, when they don't have an
- 29:04opportunity or when they're when they're not giving their life to
- 29:07Jesus. It's not because they rejected
- 29:09Jesus for the 50th time or they laughed at it.
- 29:13It's because they've never heard they've never been given an
- 29:16opportunity. They would some people would
- 29:20accept Christ if we would just tell them about it, right.
- 29:24So chapter 28 is, you know, not happening for them yet.
- 29:30And I remember, I mean, sometimes I, I try to remember
- 29:33what it was like before I was a believer.
- 29:36And, and when I do this, like what a horrible, lonely,
- 29:41directionless, lost time. And I'm so thankful for my mom
- 29:45who was there to, to, to just share the gospel with me and to
- 29:48point me in the right direction and the church that was there
- 29:51Calvary to, to pick me up and, and the people who were there to
- 29:55mentor me and bring me in. I'm so thankful for that.
- 29:59And when I think of other people who don't have that, it breaks
- 30:02my heart. So I want to go a little bit
- 30:05further. And, and so this is the bad news
- 30:08is when I say this is not really happening, but I want to give
- 30:10you a little bit worse. Like it, it's even a little bit
- 30:13worse than that. People say, surely, Dave,
- 30:15there's missionaries going into these places, right?
- 30:18And, and we've got huge organizations like YAWAM and
- 30:21they're doing all kinds of crazy stuff and they're going places.
- 30:23Well, if you take the world, get this, if you take the world like
- 30:26a map, there's a little section over here called the 10:40
- 30:30window, right? And that and half.
- 30:32And, and that's like latitude, latitude, longitude 1040.
- 30:35I don't, I don't really know exactly, but half of the world's
- 30:38population lives in this square, then half of the world's
- 30:43population lives everywhere else, right?
- 30:45Think about that. Half of the world is in this one
- 30:48tiny section. The percentage of missionaries
- 30:51that goes to that half of the world that, that 1040 window of
- 30:56all the missionaries, 4 percent, 96% of the missionaries is going
- 31:03to the whole rest of the world, which I mean, I guess the Lord's
- 31:07sending them, the Lord's calling them.
- 31:09And yes, go where you're called. Definitely go where you're
- 31:13called because you're going to be used, but follow the Lord
- 31:16wherever you go. But I just wanted to kind of
- 31:19share that to, to share a little bit of reality that that there's
- 31:22whole huge sections when again, nobody knows anything.
- 31:27Now I have having a little bit, little bit more bad news.
- 31:33There was a ban who's fallen now, but his name is Ravi
- 31:37Zacharias. And and while he was alive, he
- 31:41said a few things which are very, very wise.
- 31:44And he was talking about Thailand when he said this.
- 31:47He said in Thailand, missionaries were instrumental
- 31:52in building the school system, right.
- 31:54So missionaries basically built the school system in Thailand.
- 31:59Missionaries also built the healthcare system in Thailand,
- 32:03the first hospitals, the whole care for the, you know, for, for
- 32:06people, all that kind of stuff. That all came from missionaries
- 32:08as well, right? The, the first printing press,
- 32:14the information, the news, all that stuff that came from
- 32:16missionaries also. So he says basically Thais are
- 32:21educated, they're healthy and they're informed on their way to
- 32:25hell. And I thought that was a very
- 32:28interesting way of putting it right.
- 32:32Matthew 28 is not is commanding us to do what go right.
- 32:36We all know that part go into the nations baptizing them in
- 32:40the name of the Father and the son of the Spirit, teaching them
- 32:43to observe all things right. These are the things that we
- 32:47should be doing. But unfortunately he's not the
- 32:50things which are happening. And a lot of times it when
- 32:54missionaries go out, they're doing a lot of things, just a
- 32:57lot of busyness and even local, like, you know, a lot of stuff,
- 33:01a lot of good things being done. But Matthew 28 is still not
- 33:05happening. So in Thailand, missionaries are
- 33:10doing the, the, the big things are trafficking, stopping
- 33:13trafficking. A lot of missionaries are out
- 33:15there stopping trafficking because Thailand is one of, you
- 33:18know, it's Thailand. It's it's it's known for, for
- 33:21it's one of those sex sex trade capitals of the world.
- 33:25Missionaries go and they work in that they were also work doing
- 33:28family counseling and they help because there's a lot of family
- 33:31problems and they come out and they bring psychology and
- 33:34they're working to help families get together.
- 33:36OK, great. They go out and they do
- 33:39agriculture. They help with the poverty
- 33:41because there's a lot of poverty out there.
- 33:43These are the main things. In fact, I saw get this.
- 33:45I saw an article a little while ago about a mission organization
- 33:50that was they, they, they spent $1,000,000 a $1,000,000 on this
- 33:57project in Thailand. And they were trying to cure
- 33:59poverty and help people, help people, you know, get out of
- 34:03poverty. And so they, they were doing
- 34:05agriculture. They were teaching them how to
- 34:07rotate crops, how to fertilize, how to they, they, they brought
- 34:13out some tractors and it was a great thing.
- 34:15And the article talked about like, you know how how you know,
- 34:19it made a huge impact, right? But I'm reading through there
- 34:23and I was wondering, I wonder how many people got saved.
- 34:28Article didn't mention it. Article didn't even seem
- 34:31concerned about it. It was just the fact that some
- 34:35people are being healthy and some people are doing stuff.
- 34:37And I got to say, I got to tell you what I bet happened and I
- 34:41don't know this for a fact, but I bet you they did help them
- 34:45make more money. They did help them with their
- 34:47farming. And those ties put a spirit
- 34:50house, a brand new spirit house right in the middle of that
- 34:52field. And the local temple got more
- 34:55and they smiled and they wired and they said thank you.
- 34:58And it was a very great situation.
- 35:00But I doubt that that there was any long term impact in Thailand
- 35:04because Thailand is a long term process, right?
- 35:10These things, these, these helping with the poor, these
- 35:14counseling, these, all these things, these are things that
- 35:18are good things. They're great things.
- 35:22But these are also things that the United Nations can do
- 35:24poorly. But it's things that non
- 35:27Christians can do. What is something that only
- 35:30Christians can do, teach, baptized, tell about Jesus
- 35:36Christ? And if we're not taking this and
- 35:39translating it into this, then we're doing exactly what Ravi
- 35:42Zacharias was talking about. OK, wanted to share a little bit
- 35:48more news about about what the mission field looks like right
- 35:52now. There are some good godly
- 35:55people, wonderful believers who want to go and they feel the
- 35:59call. Maybe the Lord is calling him
- 36:01and saying, hey, you know, they're, they're getting some
- 36:03place on their heart. Maybe they want to go to the
- 36:0510:40 window, or maybe they, they want to go do something
- 36:10right now. They're talking to their pastor
- 36:12or they're talking to whoever and they're just, they're
- 36:14excited, they're idealistic, they're close to God and it
- 36:17would be wonderful to have him on the field, right?
- 36:21A lot of times what happens 1st, and it's good counsel, is
- 36:24caution. We need to, we need to slow
- 36:27down. We need to go about this wisely.
- 36:30And that's true. You do need to be wise.
- 36:32I don't want people just rushing out and taking big risks and
- 36:36doing something stupid, going into debt or whatever.
- 36:38You know, it's crazy. But unfortunately what we do is
- 36:41we start thinking man's methods of doing things.
- 36:45Let's send them to the professionals.
- 36:47We need to send them to the mission organizations, right?
- 36:51Well, let me tell you a little bit about mission organizations.
- 36:54Mission organizations are a representation of the American
- 36:59church. They're made-up of all the
- 37:01churches that get together and and send people.
- 37:03It's non denominational and they come together.
- 37:06So the mission organizations are a good example of the American
- 37:10church. American Church is not a very
- 37:13healthy church. In fact, it's, it's, let's just
- 37:18say the American church is what Calvary came out of.
- 37:21A lot of people are here because we left the tradition area, the
- 37:25traditional churches, we left it.
- 37:27We wanted to go somewhere where we're studying the Bible, where
- 37:30we're going line by line. We want to know what the word
- 37:33says. And then what happens is when
- 37:35someone wants to, when they, when they've been fed and
- 37:38they're close to the Lord and they want to go on the field, we
- 37:40send them right back to the world and we send them right
- 37:43back to lies organizations. So here's kind of an example of
- 37:45what happens. First missionary experience.
- 37:48You, you want to go, you start to step out on the field, right?
- 37:52First thing that happens if you get a huge burden placed on your
- 37:55back, huge, that missionary burden.
- 37:58If you're, if you're say a Baptist or Methodist or one of
- 38:02those groups, they're going to require you to go to college,
- 38:04right? So you're going to have to go to
- 38:05seminary. You're going to need to get a
- 38:06degree four years, you're going to go to seminary, which a lot
- 38:09of people call cemetery because it's a great place to die,
- 38:13right? I, I knew, I knew a guy, he had
- 38:15two degrees. I met him on the field.
- 38:16He had two degrees from seminary and he didn't really even know
- 38:20the Bible at all. And I was like, wow, dude, 2°
- 38:23you must know the Bible. And he's like, I know how to I
- 38:26know how to do a church, I know how to run a Sunday school.
- 38:29I know those kind of things. I was like, OK, so if you don't
- 38:32go through, if you're like like us, if you're non denomination,
- 38:35you go through one of those like a standard mission organizations
- 38:38like I went through when I went to Russia year many, many years
- 38:41ago. What they'll do is they're going
- 38:44to first of all, make you go to their to the training six
- 38:47months, few months at which you're going to have to pay for,
- 38:50of course, while you're training.
- 38:52They're going to teach you counseling, psychology,
- 38:56counseling. They're going to teach you team
- 38:57dynamics. They're going to teach you
- 38:59missionary methods. They're going to have deep
- 39:01discussions about things like, hmm, maybe we shouldn't use the
- 39:05word sin when we speak to to Asians.
- 39:08We should use face and shame. And we shouldn't say like
- 39:12you're, you're, you're sinning against God.
- 39:14We should say you're making God lose face.
- 39:16And then these are the things that you're going to learn,
- 39:18which is I, I don't agree with that.
- 39:21You're going to learn how to, oh, you're going to learn how to
- 39:26raise support, which is good because if you're going to go on
- 39:29the field, you're going to have to go with a four O 1K health
- 39:33insurance, disability insurance, money for sabbatical, money for
- 39:38conferences, right? And they're going to take 20% of
- 39:42what you make right off the top. So this is this.
- 39:45In fact, I heard. So I, there was a, there was a
- 39:48family that was going to Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, right?
- 39:52They're going to go do ministry in Eastern Europe and they had
- 39:55to raise $15,000 a month to go over there, 15 grand in order to
- 40:02go there. And before you leave, you know
- 40:04what they do before you leave, you have to have a whole year.
- 40:07You have to have like raised one whole year before you go.
- 40:10So they're walking out the door over to Eastern Europe before.
- 40:13I don't know how much that is. That's a lot of money.
- 40:15Right. Meanwhile, while the Christians
- 40:18with our faith, while we're, you know, building up and going the
- 40:21wise way that the professional tell us to go, hippies are
- 40:25cruising all around Eastern Europe hoping you're trusting
- 40:27the universe to provide for them.
- 40:30And they're playing guitar and doing and living free.
- 40:33While Christians are being burdened by this is how it
- 40:37works. This is how it happens.
- 40:38And you know what else? When they get overseas, what
- 40:41happens? So, so you raised your money and
- 40:43you go and you land, you're excited.
- 40:45Let's finally I got here. Let's do ministry.
- 40:47They tell you no, your first year is only language learning.
- 40:51You're not allowed to do any ministry.
- 40:53You can do none for one year, only language, right?
- 40:57And a lot of people will defend that.
- 40:59You know, a lot of people think that's wise and having the
- 41:01language definitely huge. It's a big part.
- 41:05Now some, some of the organizations say for two years,
- 41:08but I can't tell you how many times I've seen missionaries
- 41:10come out, they get their money, they do their stuff, they get on
- 41:14the field, they go through their language, something comes up and
- 41:17they go home, right? Or you know, I mean, life
- 41:22happens and they go home. These are the kind of things
- 41:25that just they, they, they, they raise.
- 41:29This is the burden that's on me. And this is one of the things
- 41:32that I felt a burden to just share with you guys.
- 41:34And what, what's it's like out there, right?
- 41:38What we need on the field are people like you guys, people who
- 41:43have been learning the word line by line, verse by verse, precept
- 41:48upon precept. What we need are people who can
- 41:51keep their eyes focused on Jesus even in the middle of all the
- 41:55other stuff, right? It's like, it's like an Oasis
- 41:58here. And I'm telling you, we like
- 42:00like first thing I do, I land. And today I met with a couple
- 42:03brothers. It, it, it, you know, we went
- 42:05and had food and we're talking the word.
- 42:06We're doing iron, you know, iron, iron against iron, iron
- 42:10sharpening iron, right? This is very rare, very rare.
- 42:14That's what we need. We need people like that out on
- 42:17the field. So this is going to lead me to
- 42:18the second verse. We're going to second Timothy,
- 42:23chapter 4. We're going to read verses one
- 42:25through 6. All right, and while you're
- 42:31going there, I just want to say most, most missionaries and most
- 42:38people who who have not been going line by line, verse by
- 42:41verse, who don't have the foundation, they're like boats
- 42:44on a wave. They're getting thrown around
- 42:47and all the stuff that's happening, all the the latest
- 42:49ideas, all the latest politics, it it really beat you down.
- 42:54We need people who know these verses.
- 42:57All right, so second Timothy chapter 4 verses one through 6
- 43:01says I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus
- 43:06Christ who will judge the living in the dead.
- 43:08It is appearing in his Kingdom. Preach the Word, be ready in and
- 43:14out of season, convince, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering
- 43:19and teaching, for the time will come when they want, will not
- 43:22endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires.
- 43:25But because they have itching ears, they will keep up for
- 43:27themselves, teacher, and they will turn their ears away from
- 43:30the truth and be and be turned aside to fables.
- 43:33But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do
- 43:39the work of an evangelist, Fulfill your ministry.
- 43:43All right, Now, again, I realize this is a very common verse,
- 43:48right? It's very again, you know, in
- 43:50fact, most people usually when they read this verse, they're
- 43:53focusing on verse 3 where it says, you know, talking about
- 43:56itching and itching ears. And it is, it's like it says,
- 43:59don't get distracted by the itching ears, stay focused, do
- 44:03those things. But what I want to pay attention
- 44:05to is that where it says this, preach the word, share the
- 44:09gospel, tell people that Jesus is returning, warn them about
- 44:15Jesus. Warn them that the judgement is
- 44:17going to happen. And then without Jesus, you will
- 44:20perish. Reprove, rebuke, do so with
- 44:25long-suffering. Thailand is the land of
- 44:29long-suffering because it's like I said, it's, it's a long road
- 44:32and you will see no fruit for a very long time, right?
- 44:37Verse 5, watch, endure afflictions, evangelize, fulfill
- 44:42your ministry. And I I realize he's talking to
- 44:44Timothy. Jeremy is a pastor and it's and
- 44:47it. And not everybody is a passion.
- 44:48Not everybody is a missionary. But actually, yeah, you kind of
- 44:50are. We're priests and kings.
- 44:51Everyone is wherever we are. And what we're looking for is
- 44:54for stubborn people. People who are stubborn to
- 44:59follow Jesus, stubborn to bring it into their job.
- 45:02Stubborn. I'm going to put it on my shirt.
- 45:05I'm going to put it on the back of my car.
- 45:06I'm going to talk about it wherever I go.
- 45:08People are stubborn to make Jesus a part of everything that
- 45:13they do, right? We have people like, you know,
- 45:18like, like when, when I look at these verses, it reminds me of
- 45:21of Sharon Malcolm. You guys support Sharon Malcolm?
- 45:23This church supports this is a woman who is a single woman
- 45:28living in Peru, which is a very male dominated place.
- 45:31Every week she gets on a canoe and goes miles up the river and
- 45:35plants churches all over in the in the jungle, right?
- 45:39And a lot of people, I mean, she's planting churches.
- 45:41Wait, wait, wait. A woman planting churches, well,
- 45:44she hands them over to pastors and she gets out of the way is
- 45:46what she does, right? And if you want to pat, if
- 45:49someone else wants to do it, fine, go ahead and do it
- 45:51yourself. But that's what she's doing.
- 45:53She's stubborn and she's going to do it.
- 45:56I respect this woman so much. And then there's people like, I
- 46:00mean, like, so there's Paul and Wendy, we also supported here.
- 46:02I think they came back already. This is old 70s hippie couple
- 46:07decided that they're going to go and they're going to go to
- 46:09northern Iraq after the war was done.
- 46:12And they started, they started like a little Bible study.
- 46:14The imams come and they shut it down.
- 46:16So then they open up a, a bookstore, which happens to have
- 46:20Christian books and in the Muslim imams, they come and they
- 46:22shut it down. So they open up a coffee shop
- 46:25and, and they invite people to come and we're going to have
- 46:27we'll, we'll, we'll learn English using the Bible verses.
- 46:31And he told me he was like, Paul's all dude, they're going
- 46:33to totally shut us down. And when they do, we're going to
- 46:36do CPR next. So he's already planning.
- 46:38So, so like where they, where they, where they teach, you
- 46:41know, they teach you how to do that.
- 46:42He's already planning for the next one.
- 46:45These are the kind of people that that we're looking for.
- 46:48Byron and Emily were just, they're going back out on the
- 46:50field. Byron and Emily, I remember when
- 46:54they had to leave Donetsk because it was going to get
- 46:56bombed, right? And so they had, so they're like
- 46:59homeless. They, they got their, their city
- 47:01got bombed. And now they're having to wonder
- 47:03around where they're going to go next.
- 47:04And they end up in Zaparosa, which also now doesn't exist,
- 47:07practically, also very, very bombed.
- 47:09And now. And so they were here for a
- 47:11while, and now they're going back.
- 47:14Stubborn, gonna serve. And everywhere they go, it's
- 47:17always a church and a Bible study and people, this is what
- 47:21we're looking for. We need to remember.
- 47:25And whatever we do and whatever job we're doing, wherever we're
- 47:30working, whatever we're doing, we need to remember what matters
- 47:33the most. It's your relationship with
- 47:36Jesus Christ. What do we need to teach?
- 47:40What do we need to share? We need to remember that we're
- 47:43always on the mission field. Wherever you are, you have a
- 47:47responsibility to bring that light to be that salt, right?
- 47:52If you're going on vacation, you man, make it a make it a mission
- 47:55trip. If you, if you work in a
- 47:56cubicle, put some, put your Bible on the desk or something,
- 47:59anything, you have to push it out.
- 48:01But you do have to be light and you do have to be salt.
- 48:04You know, if you're retired, I heard that there's some
- 48:07countries begging retirees to come out.
- 48:10Just go and live there for a little while and, you know, and,
- 48:13and, and start a Bible study or just witness to the to the lady
- 48:17who works in your house or whatever you're going to do.
- 48:21Watch and do afflictions. I like that.
- 48:24And do afflictions. Wow, evangelize, support those
- 48:27who do be a part of the work. You guys, you guys know Hibby or
- 48:32Nathaniel, Nathaniel Hibbs. Nathaniel Hibbs has been
- 48:35ministering in Italy for a while on next to nothing.
- 48:39He his, his support needs to be raised, but he's still doing it.
- 48:43He's not going to walk away. He's staying strong.
- 48:46Those are the kind of people I, I love that I love hearing about
- 48:49stubborn to, to, to, to do it. Paul is calling us to get in the
- 48:54game. He's calling us to participate
- 48:56and do and be a part of it. So I realize also that here
- 49:03there's sometimes people who don't know the Lord and who have
- 49:06never made a decision for the Lord and who are just even
- 49:11trying to figure this out in the first place.
- 49:17Following Jesus Christ is a deadly serious decision.
- 49:23Yes, when we follow the Lord, it brings peace.
- 49:27Yes, when we follow the Lord, it brings wisdom, it brings
- 49:30blessings. It turns our life around.
- 49:32It does all these good things. That's that's true.
- 49:36But when we follow Jesus, we do so primarily because we are
- 49:39sinners and we have no chance when the judgement comes.
- 49:44When the judgement comes, we are lost unless except for the fact
- 49:50that Jesus Christ died and he, God gave us that opportunity.
- 49:54This is the gospel. This is the good news is that we
- 49:57are not going to be separated from God and go to hell forever.
- 50:00That's the good news. You have a way out, right?
- 50:04And I think we need to remember this first.
- 50:06It's, it's, it's, it's above the problems, it's above the job,
- 50:10it's above everything. We have salvation, we have a
- 50:14relationship with the living God that's incredible.
- 50:19That alone is incredible. So afterwards, if, if you, if,
- 50:23if you don't know that if you're kind of thinking about it,
- 50:25wondering about it, you're going to have to speak to a pastor,
- 50:28you got it, or, or someone next to you because especially in a
- 50:31group like this, they know the word.
- 50:33Ask somebody find out where you stand, if you're planning on
- 50:42going on the field, if you maybe you've ever considered missions
- 50:46and you've ever thought, you know, I'd love to be a
- 50:48missionary. I'd love to go over or do or or
- 50:51like with with our brother here. Go do outreach local, right?
- 50:54Do, do outreach. There are, there are, there are
- 50:56people being shipped in here and people be moving here from all
- 51:00over the world. The opportunities to, to, to
- 51:03reach out to people are amazing. If you want to do that, talk to
- 51:07me, talk to a pastor here, talk to JJ find out how to get
- 51:11plugged in, but make sure that when you do it, you keep your
- 51:15eyes on sharing the gospel. You do good, but you do eternal
- 51:20good, right? You mean you change lives
- 51:24eternally. That's what matters.
- 51:27So I'm going to go ahead and pray.
- 51:31Father, I just, this is heavy on my heart and I'm afraid that we
- 51:36can get distracted by doing good because it's good.
- 51:42We can sometimes make that a focus because it is a righteous
- 51:47thing to do righteous things. Lord would help us to never
- 51:51forget that our primary goal is is worshipping you, knowing you,
- 51:59sharing you. It's all about you, Lord.
- 52:03You are the king. You were the one who died for
- 52:06us. You were the escape.
- 52:09You are the brother who's you're the brother who gave his life
- 52:12for us. Lord, help us to remember that
- 52:17people need you and that without you they have nothing.
- 52:21Lord, but hopelessness and lostness and filling with all
- 52:25kinds of things help us to remember, even though we don't
- 52:28see them because they're on the other side of the world, that
- 52:31there are people who are lost. Father, if there's anyone here
- 52:37today, I pray that You would. If there's anyone here today who
- 52:42doesn't know you, I pray that you would speak to their hearts
- 52:47and that You would help them to realize the seriousness standing
- 52:55before you in their sin. Help them to realize that this
- 53:00needs to be avoided at all costs.
- 53:03Help them to reach out to you and help us to be there for
- 53:06them, to encourage them, and to share the gospel with them and
- 53:10to lift them up. Lord, we thank you for this.
- 53:12Please bless Thailand. Please bless the wonderful,
- 53:16wonderful believers in our church and the other ones
- 53:18scattered all over through Thailand.
- 53:21Some of my favorite people, Lord, I pray to you, bless them.
- 53:24And we just thank you for this church, this Oasis.
- 53:29And I thank you for the the way that you've taught, reminded us
- 53:34to go line by line through the word, reminded us to worship you
- 53:37and, and to know the word better.
- 53:38Lord, we thank you for these things and your holy name, Amen.
