- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's a couple of men, welcome men, and it's a great evening, it's 24th, it is a great time here.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: It is the NFL Combine.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: I am Nick Kendall, joined by Carl Dunliner.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is Building the Broncos Carl, I don't know if it was last week I showed you I found my hat again or this is the first week that you've seen that I have it, but we're matching it again.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: I finally got through a box, I had a dance to get down there, but man, I am also.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: We're running on fumes.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: I've worked every day since February 9th for at least four hours.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: So we're here and I'm excited to talk football and get a break from other things in the world.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: And oh, I'm looking forward to the draft and the offseason and summer when it gets here as well.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: I've been doing the single dad thing for for two weeks with my wife down at
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of nights have happened to do my work after they all go to bed, you know, my son Saturday night.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: I told him that to go print bulletins for work the next day and he started crying.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, why do you have to go to work?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I'm doing it.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: Why you sleep and just you know, trying to explain that to a kid always tough.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: You can spend all day with them and you tell them you're going to spend five minutes.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: And it's hard for them, but yeah, no, it's good that we're here and talking about good, good, good coming in for Michael Ronkio, $100 super chat saying good evening Nick and Carl on building the Broncos gobo Broncos.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Mike, what can I say?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: I know I was actually thinking of you earlier today.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: I went to our other we have a couple houses just some different things and.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: I saw my boat next jersey and I always think of your picture is that's the exact boat next jersey that I have sitting on in my house.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: So I've been missing it.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: I found the found it.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like you found your hat.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: I found my boat next jersey.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you again, Michael.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: Heck yeah, well, thank you, Michael, that's, I mean, with authority, $100 is incredible.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: The offseason is here, so going to be, I mean, gosh, that's, that's as good as it gets, but not to be outdone, Shannon Mills coming in here in 1999, as well, I mean.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: incredible as this good evening shock that Sean has given a plate calling a place yeah I mean that's that's the story line here today.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder how long this plan has been in the works and how much Sean worked with web last season if he is willing to make this kind of bold statement today thoughts huge her web hope he's ready.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah honestly I'm
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: pretty shocked about it.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: There had been talk of this maybe coming like being pondered.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Sean Payton mentioned it otherwise I heard it through the grapevine of this even being considered as a possibility down the road like back in October this season.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean we'll see what happens day is what obviously at the end of the day this is still Sean Payton's offense and as we've seen of things.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: start going the wrong way.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would imagine he yanks some of that authority back, but really excited to see what the Davis Web can do here.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: I almost said Davis Mills, another quarterback here with Shane and Mills super chat here.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, no, I'm.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty shocked that it happened.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know that there was some frustration with like the, some of the sequencing and like tendency breakers with the calling of the offense, the last season, but like they weren't bad by any means.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think what they finished like 12th in DVA last season, which, I mean, there's obviously a room for improvement, but it's Sean Payton.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm only coach ever to win 14 games with two different teams.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: I believe, when we hit coach to do that.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty shocked, honestly.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And thank you Shannon so much, 99, 99 super chat.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thank you, they're Shannon.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: This is a great start to the show.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: You and I have had some crazy weeks in the past and now here we come and yeah, it's a big news.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think anybody, if you talk to Shawn Peyton, this time last year and said, hey, what would you ever think about giving up play calling duties?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: He would have laughed at you for even suggesting it.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: So the fact that he has reached this kind of point in his career and said, you know what, maybe I do need to focus more on big picture as a head coach.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I've got a guy that I trust, you know, they gave him some opportunities in the preseason and he did well in his opportunities.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I kind of knew when he turned down the jobs for the the Ravens and the bills, he had an opportunity to go work with the last two.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, now not MVP, but like the two MVP is before Stafford.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, nope, I'm going to stay here.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I didn't think that he would stay here just to get a title bump and a salary bump.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: There had to be something coming where at least he would get partial play calling duties.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'd heard some people talk about maybe he would call everything up to the red zone.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then Sean Peyton would take over at the red zone.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's kind of his specialty.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: He is very, very good at putting those kind of plays together and coming up with something to get somebody open.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm happy for web, I'm with you, I'm a little nervous.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't always mean that this is an upgrade.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know a lot of people were frustrated with Sean Peyton last year, but he did with what he could with the talent that he had.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, there could have been plenty of other calls and things could have gone a little bit different, but some of it was execution.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like, eyes were running open.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: And either Bonax missed it.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: blocking, blocking, broke down, you know, something like that.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: Or I got dropped the pass.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, as a coach, you can't control any of that stuff.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: That just happens.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm I'm excited for what by him.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think he can be a good one.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: I do think we're going to have to go through a little bit of growing pains.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now that's where I'm really going to wonder for Sean Payton can he.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: when things are not going well early in the season for the offense.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: Can he continue to step back and say, you know what?
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: I gotta give this guy his chance.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And before respond to that, Carl, I didn't want to say a load also, pop a bear, not the minimize the way $100, $99, 99, but $2.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: From a member, thank you so much, pop a bear, David Michael Rath, coming in here.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't, we haven't example of this Carl in the past.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, fans Joseph, no, I know it's on the other side of the ball, but everybody wanted him, effing out after the Miami game in the Chicago game and you have Rex Ryan out there, screaming on his morning ESPN shows, what a fool, fans Joseph, what's Sean Payton doing?
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Peyton is stuck by him, trusted the infrastructure, trusted the process of bringing those people in.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: And it's been rewarded for, I mean, obviously by and large with what the Broncos defense has been the last two seasons.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I think that it will be really interesting to follow the in-game communication and dynamics between Davis Web and Sean Peyton.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Sean Peyton is a fiery guy and obviously Davis Web.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: nose.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's worked here for three years now.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, three years in Bonax.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we've seen him go back and forth with Sean Payton a little bit.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: But now there's another dynamic there on the sideline, assuming we'll be on the sideline.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he'll decide to take it up to the booth for a figure of you who knows from him.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's I'm still a little bit shocked.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I've been talk about it.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: But the Broncos also I do think have a somewhat of a fail safe where if it doesn't work, you do have Sean Bain.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: You can lean back on again, but I'm excited.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: A little nervous, but excited all the same.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: So who do you think benefits the most from this on offense by David's Web now being the playcaller?
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: David's Web.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, honestly, it might be just
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: It might be the quarterbacks themselves.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now, that doesn't necessarily mean they're going to have better output necessarily, but we know that the quarterbacks coach has a very good and close relationship with Bonax and Jared Stitham, so as far as what integrating
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: what Bonax wants to do being a little bit more perceptive, having a little bit more collaboration and ownership of what the offense is doing.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think the quarterbacks honestly get a step up in authority and responsibility with what the offense is going to be going forward.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: I do think, like I said, he'll understand what Bonax, what Bonax doesn't.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think he might be a little bit,
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: where I'm looking for more malleable, where he's willing to change things up a little bit, where Sean Peyton, I mean, yes, he's going to call plays to help the quarterback, but I do think that he's been in this a long time where he has his system, his play calls, what he likes to do, and and sometimes it's not always to the best of what's out there and what the situation calls for.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe having a young guy,
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: You can get a little bit more input where maybe players have a little bit more say and coming to them to say, hey, this is what I like.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: This is what I'm seeing, where not the champagne wouldn't listen, but there's probably going to be a lot of times where Sean's going, I know a little bit more than you.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: I've been doing this for a little bit longer.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: And and sometimes that's for the best because sometimes I remember watching, I think it was like, it might have been Chad O' Trusenko.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: And he came to the sideline was doing, they had the mic on him or something like that.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: And he was just yelling, I'm open, I'm open every time.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: And he was like, triple-covered.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: And so every player is going to think, hey, I should be getting the ball on this kind of play.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's what's gotten to the NFL to have that kind of confidence in themselves.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, I think if I'm looking at an individual player outside of quarterback, maybe Evan Ingraham gets a little bit more of an opportunity.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: where this last season, he really got on to Sean Peyton's bad side.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: And just, just wasn't a great season for him.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you look at his actual, like, indices and stats.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're kind of going, how was it, terrible by any means?
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it wasn't great.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't what you were hoping for when you paid him as much as you paid him.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: But compared to what we've seen from the tide and position over the last few years, it was still better.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: And so I do think there could be a few more plays coming his way.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: I could see him getting a little bit more excited about this opportunity.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe me and a little bit more engaged in what's going on the game.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: I do think sometimes
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: This last season, he tried to do a little too much.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: The ball wasn't coming his way as often as he's used to.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: And so when the ball did come his way, he just was, he had so many drops where he was just he's looking too far ahead.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't, it's not watching the ball in and he's trying to make the play.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: And so maybe like I said, getting a few more targets gets him a little bit more involved in the game and he becomes a bigger weapon for this offense.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: What we envisioned when the Broncos paid him.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Colony Skeptical on the Evan Ingraham being much more than it was last season, but hopefully there'll be more affected when he's on the field, and maybe break some of the personnel tendencies that were obvious, uh, pre-snat based on who was on the field of the time, but we'll see him in the Davis Web offense, it could be, I mean, he peck.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's the next Sean McVay wonder kid, um, and he's going to be out of here and then hopefully off the NFC and
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, people are going to be plucking from his staff and Sean Payton.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it has to lead this hiring cycle.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like it was Sean Payton related hires with what's going on.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that Kyle Jainahan, Sean McVay, trius, you know, been picked dry to some extent.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I just keep coming back to the quarterbacks.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: You're just going to be one last guy being the middle man.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Sean Payton, more CEO,
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: running the operation and the entire football team always can't be in every meeting.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't know if he's in the quarterback meetings or not.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: But you have Davis Web there and he can really, again, the relationship is already very much established with those quarterbacks.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: So they all have obviously web does, but the quarterbacks as well now have more ownership.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: Will it be a good thing?
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Time will tell, but still Sean Payton's team.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: Still still, I mean, the penners write the checks.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: So it's their team, one penners, but far as the operation of everything.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Baiten at the end of the day.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: We got some more want to say hello to Mike Thompson, great to see David Junkin, questions, and Sean's on come and play as you think, Peyton and Peyton go all out to make sure web succeeds.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, they're going to go out to make sure web succeeds because if web succeeds, the bronclas are succeeding.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like the, if he fails, the offense is failing, right?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Everything is so inner connected here.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like a, I don't know, you're building, it's Jenga, right?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you pull one, but you know, that one's not that stable anymore.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: The whole thing's crumbling down.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: So it is obviously in their best interest to do everything that can to make him succeed as long as it's not taking away from other areas of the team.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like they shouldn't trade away the next five first-term picks to go get a wide receiver and an offensive line when a Titan are running back to this cycle because Davis Web has to be the best
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's obviously in their best interests.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the question, MVLEX test prep.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see in here.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: I see keyfizz in here says, can precedes and start already?
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: We got to get to the draft first, buddy.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: It should be really exciting.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: ENQX says, really went from the thing.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'll hack it as you're ever just an out in the Sean Peyton, Van Stos of the David Sweb.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Sean Payton, George Payton, I mean, what a second life he got after the Brussels and trading contract on Nathaniel Hackett.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, talked about his contract extension talk today.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: He certainly deserves it, with what he's done.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see, I mean, the draft is volatile, but I thought he's done a good job with contracts and, for he didn't see for the most part, with Sean Payton being the,
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: bleed.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Jason O'Neill, good evening.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: He said he'd give up play calling, but to what extent, I believe with all the times the question came up and pressers, he may have seen the right and on the wall time for a change.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it shows that he's willing to listen and change and evolve, right?
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: And also, I think Peyton and Peyton both emphasized, they wouldn't be doing this if they didn't think the absolute world of Davis Web as well.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not as much to me.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm interpreting this as not as much as Sean Peyton with her in a way as, like,
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: getting some fresh perspective ideas, sequencing, and Davis Webb is like blowing them away, and they wanted to do what they had to to make sure that he stayed in house.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Even if it's just for one season, we'll see what happens next year, but they must think obviously unbelievably highly of him.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's it's been amazing to watch the the evolution of Sean Payton,
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: because he's even talked about it when he first came to Denver that when he started with New Orleans, he micromanaged every little detail.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: He did not want to leave any stone unturned.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: He was hardly ever sleeping.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: He was burning himself out as a head coach.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Now, they were winning a lot of games, but he was not making very many healthy decisions for himself.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: And as he's gone on, one of the great things that he's been able to do is learn
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's got to trust his other coaches, you know, you bring these guys in because you believe that they could be good for your team.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's also a great showing in some ways that he kind of moved on from some of his long time buddies.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: And as we'll end to bring in some other guys now, they still have a lot of connections to him, but I think bringing in some of these younger guys that like I said, maybe have a little bit more.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: Pulson, where the NFL is going right now, maybe some better ideas for especially like the run game that some of this stuff's a little bit more outdated in that area compared to the past game.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that'll be good for.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, Davis Web is obviously highly thought of in the NFL circles.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: The fact that he was getting NFL head coaching opportunities,
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: He had plenty of teams wanting him to work with, like I said, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, that there's plenty of other places that wanted him as well.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: And so when you look at that, you're going, okay.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's something that everybody sees.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: There's enough people talking around the league going, hey, this guy, he's smart.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's really that next up in summer.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I hope that we get him for more than just one year as often as a coordinator.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, he might just be one and done.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: But I do love then the next thing the Sean Peyton did was he brought in a couple other young guys that have often coordinator experience some of them at college level some of them not quite at the NFL level, but guys that could maybe step in for that next guy.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so you're not completely left with nothing I think of Detroit this past year where they lost both of their coordinators and then tried to make it work and it wasn't terrible by any means.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: But it wasn't to the level that they had before with Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: And so, like I said, having those next guys up, that you can bring in, they know the system, they know the players, and you can feel good about them taking over.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think that this is really set up for the long term with boat nicks in this offense.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, God, I hope so.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: I hope so.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: The one, what does it call, the winner's curse, you know, lower draft picks and people picking off your staff and bright ascending minds.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's the, the winner's curse here in Davis web could be, you know, one and done if things go brilliant this season, but that's champagne problems right you're you're having to turn over people because you're so successful.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: So we got Chase Wellner and the house good to see a Tata Austin Dwarf great to see it to appreciate you Hope you're doing well.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want to say hello also to Roy.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Hey there surprise news for you guys I'm I'm surprised Sean Peyton I mean big ego and he's given up playing duties are a play calling duties
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: Well, see, Daniel Barry sports.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: I have my olipop here.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so no beer, but I appreciate the beer emoji.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, yeah, emoji, emoticon, whatever it is Jordan Lewis.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you evening, everyone.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Corey says he thinks it's extremely overrated news.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Sean scheme, so many of those plays with guys wide open Bowie their Mister was dropped.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have no bearing on that team still needs some Corey's down to business.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's still a big news.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, at the end of the day, I'm more roster construction focused than anything.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to those points too.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: Paul is in the house great to see a Glenn Ashley down under who your favorite players in the draft at Lineback are that fit our needs.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: I hope we can cut powers.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you like at CRG?
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Two questions here.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think, I mean, a CRG, you're probably talking already a four-cythane Darjuleo here for your CRG.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're looking for a T slash G type in this draft or even more of a T, honestly, I'm a couple tidbits from this.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, and 10 is up offensive line might be a high priority in the draft here.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: But linebacker?
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I really like Trotter from Mizzou.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think CJ Allen's a really good athlete out there.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you kind of want to play a little bit more for three with that third vinebacker, being more of a safety type, you got the LSU guy who's like six foot to 20.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: His name is giving me right now, but he's a really interesting safety linebacker hybrid and the cat out of Pittsburgh, Kyle Lewis, also a little bit more of a hybrid overhang safety type.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, based that's essentially nickel on early downs.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: That kind of player has a role.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: So those are some of the guys.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, York is out there too.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's interesting.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: I know Arizona State has a linebacker that's got some buzz.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: So Glenn, we got a lot of a lot of draft talk that we can get into for sure.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know George Peyton talked about that.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: He said that he likes the linebacked class for this draft.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: He likes how deep it is.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it actually does have some pretty high end guys as well.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: One's that aren't going to make it to pick 30, unfortunately.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, some of the files in play at 32.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: Right, there could be.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you got, like I said, CJ Allen there, a lot of people are mocking him to the Broncos, Anthony Hill, Jay Goldie, from Cincinnati's another name that's been thrown out there.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not first round, but, you know, sunny styles.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I don't think he's going to make it to us by any means,
- 21:10[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes linebackers, especially without deep it is, sometimes things are willing to wait.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: And just say, hey, we can go get a guy we think can start in the second, third, fourth round.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: So we're not going to take this guy in the first.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think he's making it clear to pick 30, because he's just too talented to do that.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: But I would be shocked if the Broncos don't come away with a linebacker in this draft within the first three rounds.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: talent's always going to dictate it and we said the same thing about tightened last year right and it just didn't work out that way so i mean you reset every time they're looking for it and the need with the talent available makes it a high probability but sometimes just doesn't work out that way so i'm with you car all be surprised with it if they don't do that i'm not going to come up here half an impuffing been like what's the hell is always depends on what's available uh... when they're on the clock what's available right now is
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: says good evening, great to see you fill.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: I feel in the first 15 plays will be a set of plays web and paint work on together.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: I just hope to cut down on the length of the call.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe although you have bonus year three, another off season.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: you might be able to do some of that also a lot of continuity across the line.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you, Phil.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: Woop comes in.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is my friend Billy here with this beautiful golden retriever.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Woop you for free.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big golden retriever fan.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to you, Billy out there in the Quad Cities.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, Jake, come in in.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, Broncos Country, Mile High, Hello, little fans.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Look what Alchemy's in the house.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Levine, come in in.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see Denver Luke, man, all are all our greats.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Shilo says the goatsaw, you flatter us.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Shilo, hope you're doing well.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: Up there in Minnesota, spring is coming.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: I know the big thaw, although maybe you're bummed about that.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: You don't come across as an ice fisherman to me, Shilo.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think Shilo just made a football team.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's the right, Shilo.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're friends on Facebook and he, yeah, playing tight in, I think if I remember right, maybe I have the wrong Shilo, if not, sorry about that, but if you did, congrats.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: Cool, and he says Nick, I think you and Eric and I want me wanting Nate Borkerker.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: A Texas A&M tight end by the time the draft comes around.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how he tests.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: He needs to probably run in the 4746 area, but he's in line, and he can be a useful piece.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt, Dana says, hey, we're gonna get a running back to come in here and be a good back.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Think so.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I did have a few more things that I wanted to say about Davis web Carl before we get out of here just some quotes.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: John Peyton obviously was being who came out earlier and kind of spilled the beans.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even it happened.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry guys, but Peyton said just.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: again, they're not doing this because Sean Payton wants to hang it up or anything like that.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's because I think they really think so highly of Davis Webb.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: And Sean Payton said I would only do that if I felt like it would help our team.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was quoted saying he's a gift.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's really sharp and he said something I wouldn't do if I I didn't think it would help.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: He said that twice.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: He also acknowledged,
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you feel like you're used to carrying something in hand, so your hands feel empty when you're not doing that.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: So he's excited to see what he can do there and also George Peyton had a lot of Good tidbits too.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm said back when he first brought him any blow aside of the interview like So that I'm going like what the hell are we doing?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Bring him back in here.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: We better get this guy back here.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: I also love Sean Peyton talking about how he has a little bit of Excuse me, George Peyton saying that
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: Webb has a little bit of swag to him, and he's not sure if he's ever seen confidence for a young coach like that.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: So again, instilling that confidence in that in those players.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: So really excited about Webb.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of buzz with him.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: And if he's successful this season, I mean Carl, even if it's replication of last season's Broncos offense, he's probably going to be head coached
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: They're about guaranteed, at least an interview.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: If not, probably a head coach.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if advanced Joseph was doing on the offensive side, what he's doing on the defensive side, he'd be head coach, I mean, to have this pick of the teams where he wants to go.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: But he's a defensive guy, the second time around, you know, there's some of that.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: Rememberance of, like you said, some of the bad games as well.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: And even this time in Arizona wasn't the best defensive coordinate.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, one of those, I don't think they had the talent.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: The, to fully maximize what he could do.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's like here in Denver in 2015.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: Part of what made that team great was, yes, we had a great play collar on defense in Wade Phillips, but he also had incredible talent to make it work.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: And you can't do that if you don't have a key to lead Bradley Robe, Chris Harris Jr.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: If those guys are getting burned and you're trying to play that man coverage, you're giving up a lot of big place.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: So like I said, it's got to be a mixture of the two.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so I am, I'm excited for Davis Webb.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little bit nervous about how this is gonna go, but it's not unheard of either.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: Andy Reed's giving up play calling duties.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he'll step in every once in a while with Maggie and everything that's, you just don't know.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but you think of like Eric being a me, they had top three offense almost every single season with him as often as coordinator.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe we had in that kind of direction and as they said, Sean Payton's going to be a great guy to have for him to divorce things is was it feel earlier saying the 15, the first 15 plays, course they're going to work on those together.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's not going to be shot, Peyton, saying, I'm completely hands off the offense now.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: There's no way he could ever do that.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to have his say and he's going to say, I think this work, I'm going to watch this kind of film.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to give my two cents, but hopefully he's still at the end of the day, says, I'm going to give this to Davis Webb, let him make the final say.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's what I'm trying to do is empower this guy.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, I hope we get him for longer than a year.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're correct about that.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Peyton, this is, these are probably my favorite interviews of the year, Carl, most of the time, just because I feel like we get so much information.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: I wish that Sean Peyton and George Peyton could have talked twice as long as they did, and sometimes I like it because,
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me feel smart even though some of the stuff is quite obvious when they talk about it, but Sean Payton talked about the season multiple things.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: One was the one score games this season being like saying essentially, I'm not stupid.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: I know one score games can be a little bit volatile and those just as easily could have gone the other direction.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: So while then
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're one score record indicates they have the ability to improve and be a little bit more stable and they're output and win in football games.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: It matters.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the record is the record, but predictively, I wouldn't assume that's going to be the case going forward with that record with one score games.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: And also, again, making me feel stuff that we've been talking about here is he son of eight and said, there's meat on the bone still on.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: What do you mean when he's talking about meat on the bone?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: takeaways, Carl, set it mid-season, set it at the by week, set it at the end of the year.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Denver was simply not good enough at taking the ball.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he said, it's a quote, the meat on the bone exists with our takeaways.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Also, he mentioned run game, the consistency of the run game, so the down to down stuff once they had Dobbins.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we looked at the stats of the success rate with RJ Harvey running the football is one of the worst we've seen in football in the last five years from a running back with that amount of snaps.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: So the takeaway is in finding run game efficiency two big points of emphasis from Sean Peyton from just the output of this team and direction that they want next season.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I have some people that I highly respect that have been excited about the idea of Travis
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: Part of me is he's a lot like RJ Harvey of I variance where it is a lot of We got some behind the scenes waves going on here.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: Got to get a shout out to one of our young fans here, but Perhaps he's kind of the same thing where there'll be a lot of zero yard carries than a 20 yard burst.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a little bit more consistent than obviously what RJ Harvey is at this point, but I would really love to see them find that that one to punch for you, but as you said, What JK Dobbins was able to do, but find somebody that's maybe a little bit healthier that you can trust to play 17 games.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's no guarantee that any of them can stay healthy and then find a better third back that you can trust.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: if, let's say, whoever the starter is goes down, that you're not relying on RJ Harvey to be more than what you drafted him to be.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: What RJ Harvey can do well, he is great at.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're talking about a guy that had double digit touchdowns, was a huge threat in the past game.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: And the run game could be that home run hitter.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when teams are trying to stop the past game as much as possible, running these cover two, cover four, cover six looks.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: And you can have a running back that can take off for 50 yards.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: That is a huge, huge advantage to have.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: So he has incredible value.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: But, like I said, you need to find that great counter to him.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: And whether that's Algear, it's not briefs haul anymore, unfortunately.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, with the transition tag, it's not completely closed.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I guess depending on what they do.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: I highly doubt that they go that way.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think it'll be probably franchise tag.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: because I think they'll know that they'll get into a bidding war if they put on the transition tag.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, there's still other options.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: Kenneth Walker's gonna get quite a bit of money.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure I'd go complete that direction.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: There's gonna be a couple of touch, Josh Jacobs.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: If he gets cut, man, I'd,
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be one happy Bronco fan to see him go from the Raiders to the Broncos and now get to do the Raiders, what he did to us all those years, that would be a lot of fun to go watch.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's a little bit older.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's been talk of David Montgomery, the Broncos possibly looking to trade for him.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I brought this up to somebody the other day and they said, oh, well, I don't want to trade for a 28 year old running back and I get that.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: but he's been showing he's still very productive and his contract is not all that bad.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's like $5 million a year that you'd be trading for.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: Compared to what Ken Walker is probably gonna get 15 million a year, 14 million somewhere in there.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: So third of the cost, maybe you're giving up,
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: your fifth round pick and getting a six round pick and my Montgomery back.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to cost you a ton to go trade for that guy.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I think the Broncos have a lot of options to improve that run game and improve that running back room, I just, I definitely be disappointed if we run it back with JK Dobbins, R.J. Harvey and the Glofflin, you better not be doing that.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way in hell.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way in hell and talking about the,
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: still both Sean Peyton and George Peyton talking about the positions.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: Team is still looking for, you know, mismatch weapons, jokers, but two of the positions that came up a good bit was running back as well as
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: linebacker and I know that Sean Peyton a few times mentioned like you know I'm not going to tell you our full plans for the off season or anything like that but running back came a few times I'm listening about needs he didn't dance around it saying running back would have to be one of the positions that they need so has to do that obviously everybody knows that and also both of them talked about linebacker just because Sean Peyton said there's two of them leaving so it's an obviously with two of your top three.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: gone, and as you mentioned, George Payton talking about, it's a good linebacker class, but they'd still love to have singleton and strunade back and quoted saying, we see both of those guys as Broncos.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe they'll bring up both back and let Greenlaw walk with a dead cap.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see, but I would be shocked if it's not.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's going to be
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: a new linebacker in house that's not through the draft as much as like some of these guys would be interesting quay walker.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: Devon Lloyd.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: Don't quote me on that though.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I maybe do.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: I just I would be surprised at this point.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would love Kate Nellus.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Some of these other athletes out there, Alexander Lone, it would be interesting as well, younger than Alex singleton, but probably one of strnod slash singleton.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: I would lean singleton.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, I'd like both of them back and move on from GreenLaw, but maybe GreenLaw seconded in system healthier, ideally.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there's a level that he can get to that we didn't see this last year.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: So with free agency coming up here in just a couple of weeks,
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: You're looking into the future, where do you see the Brock was spending their money?
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: How do you see them kind of designate this cap space that they have?
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: Because they've talked about being aggressive, but being smart about it.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: We're fighting kind of backed off from some of those comments a little bit earlier.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like he kind of took it down a notch compared to what he was right after the season.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: And it was more like, we're going to be cautious about this.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I could be stupid urgency, but not reckless.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, towards Peyton said, we're going to be urgent and aggressive.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: No stone and turn, but then like immediately after that said, you just can't go crazy because you were three points from the Super Bowl.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: And Peyton also kind of reinforced like the discipline saying, you really have to start from the beginning every year.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like despite getting that far, everybody's zero zero now.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: So how do you see the Broncos kind of dividing that up and where do you see them really wanting to spend their money?
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to spend, I mean, the three positions are obvious.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody who follows the team and kind of understands the flow of contracts coming in and out and also just the economics of where you want to spend money on free agency versus draft and develop and retain players.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: The positions that they need are some of the ones that are more.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: available for starter calibers for not huge contracts every season and running back line backer and tight end.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think that we'll see what happens against Elipree's Hall.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: You got, obviously Super Bowl MVP, whose name is escaping me right now.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now, is it kind of walker?
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's, okay, okay, because there's also kind of gain well out there, but yeah, kind of walker.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's walker.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: I really like Tyler Alger, we're going to pay attention to the on draft RDA.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: street for agents, whoever's cut, James Conner is also interesting, that might be cut as well, he'd big back and can do some of that really down stuff.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: I've been pounded in the table for Tyler Ozier since BYU, and he's got a lot of tread on the tires, because he had Bijon Robinson, ahead of him, who's
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: probably the best back in football right now.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, those positions and we are to talk about, you know, linebacker and tight end.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of tight ends available.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now we'll see a lot, like, you know, 30% will probably be retained by the team before free agency even opens.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, you got Kate out and you got Daniel billing her.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: You got Dallas got her.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: You got David and Joku.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: You got Charlie Coler, blocker as well.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's, there's going to be options out there for this team.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, spend money.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: Running back for sure, like for sure if you're sure duh you're bringing back one of these linebackers probably if not both and then finding a tight end that can come in and raise the floor and just make you more multiple.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean Not to be Dragon Slayer 69 here, but Adam Troutman, you know If you're grading him as a blocker, probably see minus D plus and as a pass catcher D plus D Yeah, granted there's not many like good wise
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: in the actual league at any point, maybe you know, 10 to 12 and some teams have like two.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: So, but you got to try to do better there.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: Just to make yourself more multiple, because right now he's, he's just not offering much.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Sean Payton even took a shot at him jokingly, but like took a, like a hard hard, where buddies.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Sean Payton shot on our,
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: close.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to bring him in immediately traded for him.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: But like said, I think before that week 18 game, like, you're this many points away from, or this many yards away from a bonus, you're not getting it.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're not getting that in a year.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: Try one.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: So sorry.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Chase Walner $2 said, what would you guys give up for David Montgomery?
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping for something like a fifth round pick.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you get a future seventh back.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the vets are not expensive, man.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's a real
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: What's the word I'm looking for?
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Deficiency?
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like economic, like you can get a lot of surplus value.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: If you're willing to trade some of these D3 picks for veterans, if you can take on the contracts.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, JFM paid nothing for him.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's gonna get 20 million per year on the market.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, that's a really good thing you can do if you have a lot of extra picks and the cap space to maneuver and take on some of those veteran contracts.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and this is where I've had people talk about the Broncos trading back and getting more draft capital.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos don't have a ton of open roster spots right now.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying that you don't, if you have an opportunity and it looks good, but I'd probably be trading more for 2027 picks than I would be to get more picks here in 2026.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: And or do this where you trade back and then you trade for a couple of these veterans that you think could come in and help you where you're you're getting them on the cheap and they're out playing what you would have ever gotten from a fifth round pick player that you would take this year.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you're getting instant impact.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like we know what David Montgomery brings to the table.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what a fifth round rookie would ever bring to the table.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes it works, and obviously there's still value there.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen fifth-ground picks work out here and didn't work before, but yeah, I'd probably do that as well.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's going to cost you a ton.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I think there's plenty of connections.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: is old quarterback from Iowa State is now on the offensive staff.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's old running back the coach from Iowa State is our running backscoach.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: So there's connections there.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's going to be people that will be trying to talk.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: The Bronco higher up to go make a move like this.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Montgomery would love being in this offense.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_02]: And getting more of that true number one hype snaps, you know, I think he was a little bit frustrated this last year, where Gibbs was starting to become the true number one guy and he was kind of being put on the back burner and which is understandable, I mean, Gibbs is
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's only going to make it probably 30 and you're going to pretty much not run them into the ground, but he's had a lot of steps.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he has too much more left, but he's got enough.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's options.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: And the probably a few tight ends available for trade or being cut as well, you know, talking about that market deficiency.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the right phrase.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody with economics out there can tell me what I'm wrong, but that's an area where there just seems to be, you can get some real surplus value for filling in needs and get a player who signed a contract, hasn't lived up to it.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're wanting to move on, maybe hasn't put the new scheme and you can bring in for pennies on the dollar.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: That guaranteed money stays with the other team.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: Which is why JFM's been so cheap here in Denver.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: A few more things here Carl.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: I did want to get to as we start to wrap it on up.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just big picture draft philosophy stuff from the team and I really did appreciate both Sean Payton and George Payton
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: That we had one passing quote, Carl, about wide receiver.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think George Peyton mentioned it at all.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: And Sean Peyton said, it'd be really like the progress of our young wide receivers.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: So that doesn't mean that they're not going to look to improve the position, but like a viable pathway for this season, if they're not able to bring in a number one wide receiver is
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: drafting a guy again, if it presents itself, you have three young players who think all took steps forward this season and if you improve running back and tight end drastically, that should raise the floor of the offense on the whole, on top of whatever draft tricks you bring in.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: So that's all that I recall the set about wide receivers, but something that both of them mentioned was the line of skirmish and specifically Carl, the offensive line, the offensive line, Sean Peyton gave an awesome quote,
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: talk about the offensive line saying it's one of the most important positions on your team because the mentality and their attitude permeates throughout the building.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: He also then added historically we've always invested early draft capital for that position and he emphasized the scarcity as well.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: I said it's kind of hard to find those guys.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: And for agency this time you got to go through the draft.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: John, George Peyton also alarm bells going off with the offensive tackle for me, Carl, saying that you don't want to age at the same time.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive tackles.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: Uh oh, aging at the same time, very much so for this Broncos team.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to take them at their word.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the, some of the coded language from George Peyton and Sean Peyton.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think offensive line very much is stock raised for me or probability raised for an early pick there.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: As it should be, I mean, you might even be moving on from Ben Powers this off season.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, maybe they're waiting for the draft as to see, okay, do we find a guy that we can feel comfortable starting at that left card spot that maybe then can move out the
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then as you said, both tackles getting up their an age, I think Paul had messaged me on Twitter.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, hey, do you think Garrett Bowles is going to play another four years?
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe two.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think Garrett Bowles loves football.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he loves being on this team.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: But he's also a big time family guy.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's talked about it before of wanting to be able to play with his kids.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I think if he starts,
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: having these nagging injuries that continue to remain with them.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's gonna say, hey, I've made more money than I can ever imagine.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: My family set up for life.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I've done everything I can for this franchise.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, he deserves it to walk off and get the hearty handshake saying, you were a great dimmer Bronco.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'll pro this last year, obviously shows just how far that guy has come.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: We do.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: We need to start looking for who can be that next guy.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, when you're looking at some of the big boards around there, there's some names that that could be there for the tackle position right around pick 30 that I think can kick inside if you need them to and then eventually you can move them back out to left tackle.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: I know, I love our offensive line coach and what he's been able to do with some of these guys like Frank Crum when he's come in.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's been a, a very solid guy, but is that what you really wanted to depend on?
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: You know, as Pearl says here, we need a backup left tackle.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like Crum.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just not sure that I view him as the future left tackle for Denver.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so, yeah, it's a way to tackle.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge value for an undrafted guy, like massive value.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: for sure.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so if somebody is there at Pick 30, and you say I think this guy could be our starter for the next five to eight years or more at left tackle, you don't pass that up.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: It just, it doesn't come around to hold a lot.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think of,
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: what the chiefs were able to do this last draft.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know their left tackle wasn't there for half the season because of some things going on, but they realized we've got to take a, we've got to take a badge of this guy being here.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: This kind of talent is it usually at this pick?
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: And so if you find somebody really like, even if they're not gonna start this year, I would still probably in that way.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the board always dictates at the end of the day, but you do have Monroe Freeling from Georgia, I and October from Arizona State, Kaden Proctor is interesting.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's some Blake Miller fans out there, as well.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, Eric's not listening to you.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: He'll get mad at me for even throwing his name out there.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, both of them talked about it, and again, my antenna went up.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: Not only, I love them talking about offensive line in George Payton, also going to shout out the defensive line being, what was his exact quote, essentially being a lifeblood of the team saying you always have to feed the offensive lines and defensive lines to sustain success, which is one thing I've just been screaming at on Twitter the last two or three years, because it was like the offensive line
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: they don't stay good if you don't continuously invest in them.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it literally is the identity that's what makes this team good from a personal perspective.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: The number one scene they have seen is that there may be the best team combined trenches on both sides of the ball in the entire league.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: See hooks maybe run for the money on that one as well.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one of the reasons that won the last teams, the reason that the champion, after all, couple of final of their takeaways here.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Carl, I did have one more big one that goes with the offensive line perspective as well about taking tackle.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would take a tackle, even if you keep powers, why did you events in the offensive line early?
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Payton, God bless him.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: You always talk about Sean Payton like, oh, he's all, you know, all about right now.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Once I put the chips in, and again, go to speak, take it as well.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: But it's what we have to go off of.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: He said that when you look at the draft classes, it's important to look three years down the road.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: Three years down the road is when we're going to look at the draft class and that was in context of
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: At the same class, that was unbelievable, March on Light, and Moralvin, Kamara, Trey Hendrickson.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: There was somebody else incredible in that class to that class was crazy, 2017, I think it was.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then also, it was in context of Javier Barron.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: But also, I think that's the perspective for the draft in general.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: Pick 30 day two, I mean, obviously, would you like to bring in somebody who has a pathway to make year one impact and ROI on the four-year contract?
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, of course.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not the point of the draft picks.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: The point is where the at, after three years and three plus years, especially early rounds, would you rather have a running back that comes in and is a serviceable running back?
- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: This season and then you know, you phase them out after four years.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: And like, oh yeah, we spent that.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: Or would you rather have a pro-boller, all pro-safety that's a franchise pillar for the next 10 years?
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know my answer, even though you don't need this safety right now, I know what my answer is, be easy.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: Give me the tent pole franchise building block talking about random one, I mean, that's, so again, offensive line, big picture draft, I think at all kind of coalesces and kind of paints a picture, we need to be talking more offensive line.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, and the brokers don't have a ton of positions that you can look at and say, yep, there is an easy path to see, then be in a day one impact there.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now, deep into wine, you can attach those positions.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: Patational, yeah.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've had our rotational, wide receivers, they rotate a lot, defensive line, they rotate a lot.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the ones, and of course, they have tied in running back linebacker.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to sign guys, you're not in the position where it's like, oh, if we don't go
- 49:12[SPEAKER_02]: for sure.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, they like their receivers.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: Feel last question.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think Web will use MIMS more as a wide receiver?
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: I could see it.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: At same time, if you go back and watch every one of of there's a video out there that has BONIX, every throw 20 plus yards down the field.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_02]: And there are about eight of them that he overthrew MIMS who was wide open.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we'd have a lot different conversation of, say, four of those eight actually were hits to mips.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: And we'd be like, oh, yeah, they figured out how to use this guy more.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's just because he's such a high variance player in the sense of he's running those deep routes for you or he's running the screen.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: Those either turn into really big plays or nothing.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_02]: And so yes, there's going to be some games where he goes out there and has 125 yards and there's going to be other games where he might have five yards of offensive production now maybe web figures out how to use it more and other kind of play designs.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: And and hopefully mimp is figuring out a little bit more of what it means to run as a wide receiver and be able to run within the traditional offense where it's not a hey this has to be a designated play to you.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: But right now, like I said, if they could just hit some of those deep balls, that would have made a huge difference in the way that we look at memes right now.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: And so I am, I'm interested to see how web's going to take all of these different weapons and any of them have a decent skill set.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: John Peyton has never really been big on having.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: lots and lots of big time weapons on offense, not that he wouldn't go for him if he can't if he can get him, but usually it's been one really big offensive weapon and a tight end or wide receiver, and then a running back that he's he can use to running back, yes, sorry.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so whether it's Michael Thomas, I mean, he had a couple tight ends that were were really good for a few years
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: He could find ways to get the most out of them.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, Franklin, I know the drops drop, the drops were maddening, but he still had a pretty productive season.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's one of the the best value wide receivers in the NFL this last year.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: And we're talking about a fourth round pick and he's bringing 750 yards of offense to you.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's not terrible.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: That it's not all that you would hope for.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: But for a number two, number three kind of wide receiver, that's, that's a pretty good production.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I think you can still feel pretty good about the wide receivers.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: As you said, if you can fix the tight end position and the running back position, you can feel a whole lot better about this wide receiver core, because it's not going to be stop-stutton and don't worry about the rest of them.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be oh crap.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Dallas got its out there, and now we got to worry about him attacking the middle of the field.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's,
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: Kenneth Walker coming out of the backfield.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: Now we can't just drop into a cover two cover four shell.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this guy can really take off and turn into a big play.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of options once you fix those kind of holes on your offense.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very much joker mentality, snap the pool cue and if you want the reps, take it.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know that's kind of,
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: shitty, someone as well, like Sean Baton, you know, talked about like it's parsley, my fault, you know, in these out there is making plays, but you gotta be so good that they can't take out the field.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: When you're there, I mean, I kind of have the elite's college football program mentality there.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking to hire, I recruited you as a forestar.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: I guess what you're in here now, you got the forestar next to you.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: That was great, a lot of you, Doddy.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: If they were, what do they call it?
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm playing the best guy.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: And guess what, are you a force or a came in?
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: You had a good year this year?
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a group in a five star behind your ass.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: You better be gansher.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_01]: So that's just the reality of it.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: Every year, like we started zero, the same for these players.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: And you build up credibility and everything.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you've got to come in with that mentality and run with it when you get the opportunity in Mims, did deliver Franklin, did deliver Pat Bryant, I mean, the way they scheme him, I think is enough for me to say that they, please stay in the field, that's a guy, but they're all valuable and that doesn't mean that I'm not looking to bring in another one.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a rotational position and it's one that if you can pop,
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: You can get some tremendous value, considering what, I mean, what's wrong with your dobs going to get paid on free agency this year?
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Carl, something stupid.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's going to get paid borderline wide receiver one money.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's a wide receiver three.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, rookie contracts are a really valuable one.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's seven o'clock, mountain time.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want to get at least two more things here.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be remiss if we didn't talk about vanstosive.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: He was talked about a little bit today.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Payton's saying he's a little surprised, credited vanstosive for his calling presence.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: George Peyton also really surprised and thinks he should be and will be a head coach in this league at some point.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: So happy to have answers of back.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I wouldn't say he's on thin ice, but Sean Peyton said it many times how much they want slash need to create more takeaways.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's public figure figure it out on that front.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: And finally, Carl, I know we've, again, cut me off here and kind of run in us out, but the last thing was credit to George Payton, getting 10 extensions done in 18 months, 400 million, that's also credit to the wealthy ownership group, willing to put their money where their mouth is.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: And Sean Payton publicly advocating for George Payton, getting an extension, same, it's time.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: So if man shows us back, George Payton contract,
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think probably pretty inevitable, a George Peyton kind of blew it off.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're very busy condensed off season with the post season and everything.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_01]: We'll take care of everyone, take care of it.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't imagine we hear something this summer for him, but the continuity is a good thing, especially with so much moving parts of the coaching staff right now.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm just hoping we don't lose both our defense coordinator and off the coordinator.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_02]: Next off season, then we're kind of scrambling to figure that out, but well, that's the winter's course.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: And that means the brokers are doing really well if that's what happens.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I did love Sean Peyton, I think, kind of took a shot at the Arizona Cardinals.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_02]: where he pointed out that sometimes these guys get, can't get out of their own way for making a mistake.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_02]: And there were some rumors going around that the cardinals really liked, fans Joseph.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_02]: And but it kind of got out there into the public and fans really pushed back and said, we don't want this guy and then ownership stepped in really like fans don't like it.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_02]: Let's not hire him.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying that who they hired is a bad coach by any means, but there are some frances.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: I franchisees out there that care much more about what the fans think than what maybe is the best thing for the franchise.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I think of
- 56:20[SPEAKER_02]: different guys that have been hired around the league of Sean McVeigh.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_02]: There'd be people who pushed back against him when he was hired.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_02]: Even Bill Belichick, when he was hired with the Patriots, there's a big article put out, I think in Boston, Harold or whatever, where it was pretty much like this is the failure of our team.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_02]: This team's going to crash and burn with him as a head coach.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_02]: whether it's next year, hopefully we get more turnovers and themes are going crap.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: Why did we pass on this guy?
- 56:56[SPEAKER_02]: I do think it's gonna be interesting next year after having so many openings this off season.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: Probably means there's gonna be fewer next off season.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_02]: I can't see they're being another 10 openings across the league and so probably less chances of both of them being gone, but like I said, if they're both gone, it means Broncos did great probably means top three seed and the FC win the FC West and Bonax looks like franchise quarterback
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: Davis Webb, column plays for the Broncos.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're really excited about it.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty shocking.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how it goes.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's the mystery box, a little bit, right Carl?
- 57:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it could be a boat.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Sean Payton, but they like him.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_01]: I might have been part of the deal to keep him here and that we officially got that.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_01]: And they seem excited and they're happy to have him on the staff and we'll see how it goes.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: Other than that, linebacker, tight end, running back.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to obviously make some moves there, and probably in free agency, but that doesn't rule out the draft, either.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, everybody, just because you sign Daniel Bellinger, in free agency, doesn't mean you can't go get Kenyan Sadik to pay her with him, if you want that, or just because you're bringing in.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: Bring back strana.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean you can't draft CJ Allen or the Jack Galade, brown two.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then running back, uh, probably not around one running back, but just because, you know, I think running backs, that's not a good crop this year.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: Just right.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but you might be able to bring in, you know, cost control running back three, round four or five, six, seven, uh, which can bring in more than we'll often did this year.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: So the pair of Harvey and whatever veteran you sign off the top seven that are available this season.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 58:46[SPEAKER_01]: should be really exciting, I always love this and shout at the George Peyton for, again, brilliance.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_01]: You got to feed the offensive line and defensive lines.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, everything falls apart.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: So, got to love it, got the big, you don't win without the big ugly, man.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's football.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: So, any final thoughts, Carl, we got to wrap up.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_02]: No, it was fun listening to him, like I said, you can hear these guys are all on the same page.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_02]: They all understand this is how we want to build our team.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_02]: And when you have that kind of unity between ownership, coach, GM, it makes all the difference.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I guess that I'm excited for web, nervous, but I think in the end, we'll be very excited with what we see from the office.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you, man.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you all.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you everybody for coming in today.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: Hang in out, Papa Bear, Michael Runk, he $100, Ruse, Shannon Mills, 99, 99.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_01]: Don't want to charge you one.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's sent on that one.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_01]: Film a Glawflon a couple of times as well.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: Chase Walner.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Denver.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_01]: We did we get this one.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_01]: Denver Luke came in late says are we crashing out if Denver goes running back in the first Oh, man, I just I have a hard time with it because I worry about
- 59:57[SPEAKER_01]: price holding you on the football like what he actually looks like as a big-time running back short Sean Peyton talked about some of the outliers and like your reference specifically, running back I really like to fumble a lot.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how does that work out in the league?
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's talking about Jayden blue on that one, but a little who knows?
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then but price I don't know about Jayden price and I wouldn't trade up for love.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: if he felt like 27 sure, but there might be other things going on if that's the case.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe if that if he felt 27 something something maybe going on.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, but thank you Denver Luke as well.
