- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:15Speaker 1: Blue Nation. Sorry about that. Welcome back.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm sitting here trying to do some work, and I'm like, oh,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I forgot we got to do radio. Do you remember
- 0:26Speaker 1: how to do that? No, I really don't, to be
- 0:28Speaker 1: completely honest with you. Good morning, everybody. I hope everybody's
- 0:31Speaker 1: having a great Friday on this September 4th. We're already
- 0:36Speaker 1: back into another month. I mean, it just, the days
- 0:39Speaker 1: keep flying by. But I'm back. Yes, this is live. Yes,
- 0:42Speaker 1: I am. My name is Michael Bennett, and this is
- 0:45Speaker 1: just the cat. So if you want to give us
- 0:47Speaker 1: a call, 502-384-1450. If you want to text us, I
- 0:50Speaker 1: hope we get a bunch of texts today. I just
- 0:52Speaker 1: want you to know, because there's so many great things
- 0:56Speaker 1: going on right now with the start of football season,
- 1:01Speaker 1: the start of all kinds of stuff. And I got...
- 1:06Speaker 1: Big news that I announced last night. I know you
- 1:08Speaker 1: saw it, Justin. Yeah. I'm excited about that. A week
- 1:12Speaker 1: from today, we'll talk about that a little later. But
- 1:15Speaker 1: you want to text me on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you can do it at 502-414-1450. Or you can tweet
- 1:20Speaker 1: me at Just The Cat Radio. And I'm assuming we're
- 1:23Speaker 1: on YouTube. I don't know. We are. Okay. So if
- 1:25Speaker 1: you want to follow us and watch us on YouTube
- 1:28Speaker 1: or listen. The stream is down today, so YouTube's going
- 1:31Speaker 1: to be imperative. Well, you told me that we're on
- 1:35Speaker 1: YouTube and now you're telling me we're impaired. Well, I
- 1:38Speaker 1: don't understand. The YouTube stream is good, but our online
- 1:42Speaker 1: stream is not good. You've got to be kidding me.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm telling you, you missed a lot while you're gone.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So in other words, people that live in Evansville, Lexington,
- 1:54Speaker 1: all over the rest of the state or beyond cannot
- 1:56Speaker 1: listen to us today. No, they can't. They have to
- 1:58Speaker 1: go to YouTube. And I've been trying to tell everybody
- 2:00Speaker 1: that on the text line that's like streams down. Well,
- 2:03Speaker 1: how are they going to find out then? How are
- 2:05Speaker 1: they going to know if they normally get on their
- 2:07Speaker 1: computer and listen to us through the computer? Or their telephone.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And it's like, oh, it's not up. So now they
- 2:16Speaker 1: don't know where to go.
- 2:16Speaker 3: If they've texted into the text line, I'll text them back.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Be like, go to the YouTube.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Okay. All right, then. Well, just go to YouTube. It's
- 2:24Speaker 1: Big X Sports Radio Louisville. And you know what? I'll
- 2:28Speaker 1: tweet it out in just a second. There you go.
- 2:31Speaker 1: What else is broken in this place? We're falling apart.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Just be surprised we're still in this building. Maybe I
- 2:37Speaker 1: should ask. Well, yeah. Wouldn't that be funny? We're supposed
- 2:41Speaker 1: to be next door. Oh, right now we are?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 1: You told me it was going to be a long
- 2:46Speaker 1: time before we did. I mean, I still believe that,
- 2:49Speaker 1: but we were told September 1st. Oh, really?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That would have been funny if you hadn't or no
- 2:56Speaker 1: one told me anything and I try to come over
- 2:59Speaker 1: here and nobody's here and you're over at the other building.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I'll have to say that would be hilarious. I agree.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Although, knowing you, you would tell me anyway. I would, yeah. Yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 1: because I love playing practical jokes, and I enjoy jokes
- 3:15Speaker 1: against me. I think they're fun. My boys tease me
- 3:19Speaker 1: like you relentlessly, and I love it. It makes me
- 3:23Speaker 1: probably laugh the hardest when it's against me. But, no,
- 3:27Speaker 1: I enjoyed it. I had a good time. For those
- 3:29Speaker 1: of you who don't know, I went to Key West
- 3:31Speaker 1: for a few days, saw some really longtime close family
- 3:36Speaker 1: friends and celebrated a person that passed away three years ago,
- 3:45Speaker 1: Labor Day weekend. And so we did that. I had
- 3:49Speaker 1: to speak. Somebody, I was, or I should say, I
- 3:53Speaker 1: was forced to speak. That was the hardest thing I've done.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And I've spoken at funerals before.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I've had to do, what do you call it?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Eulogy.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Eulogy. Thank you. And those are hard to do. They're
- 4:09Speaker 1: even harder when the person you know was like a
- 4:13Speaker 1: dad to you. And that was hard. And so I
- 4:17Speaker 1: did that. I got through it. I was proud of myself.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Woo-hoo.
- 4:20Speaker 1: My wife said I was really good. She goes, you
- 4:24Speaker 1: were the right amount. She goes, you were the perfect
- 4:27Speaker 1: amount of funny and serious. That's good. So that's good.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And then his wife came up to me and says, Michael,
- 4:35Speaker 1: thank you so much. Gave me a big hug. And
- 4:37Speaker 1: then I broke down at that point. I just let
- 4:41Speaker 1: it out when she came up to me. She goes,
- 4:43Speaker 1: you know, he would have been proud of you. So anyway,
- 4:45Speaker 1: that was hard. I mean, that was I hope I
- 4:48Speaker 1: don't have to do anything like that for a long time.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But we did that. What was that? Just the other day.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And so I'm glad that's over because that was the
- 4:57Speaker 1: part I was dreading the most. Sure. Was doing that.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And he was a little subdued because, you know, that
- 5:04Speaker 1: was also the time that the infamous Jimmy Buffett passed away.
- 5:09Speaker 1: So but anyway, it was it was a lot of fun.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I had a good time. I needed a few days
- 5:15Speaker 1: off just to let you know, Justin. And I feel fresh.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm ready to go. Yeah. Because as you said on
- 5:23Speaker 1: your show, I have missed a lot. You have. And
- 5:25Speaker 1: you're right. And I want to go through the entire
- 5:28Speaker 1: list of what you think I missed. And I want
- 5:31Speaker 1: to compare it to what I think I've missed. Okay.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Because I think I really believe the biggest story. While
- 5:39Speaker 1: I was gone was the saga of Mark Michu. Oh, yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 1: That was for UK now. Yeah. For UK. That was
- 5:48Speaker 1: the biggest. Is that on your list? Absolutely. All right.
- 5:52Speaker 1: We're one for one. The second one I thought was
- 5:56Speaker 1: a really big story. And that's the release of One
- 6:01Speaker 1: Will Love Us at Tennessee. Here is why I think
- 6:04Speaker 1: that was big. Yeah, I wouldn't have had that one.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You would not have had that one. Okay. Because of
- 6:09Speaker 1: what he said. We'll talk about that in a little bit.
- 6:13Speaker 1: And then, of course, all the LSU saga. We'll talk
- 6:19Speaker 1: about that today. What else do you think I have missed?
- 6:24Speaker 1: I mean, not even.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Just the LSU saga, but just the SEC saga.
- 6:31Speaker 1: The NLSU saga.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I mean, it's like they're trying to go after one
- 6:35Speaker 3: of their own, which has been really, really weird to see.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I mean, you had all the, didn't all the other
- 6:40Speaker 3: conferences come out and make their statements too while you
- 6:43Speaker 3: were out?
- 6:44Speaker 1: No. Did they really? I thought that was while you
- 6:47Speaker 1: were out. Well, maybe it was while I was out,
- 6:49Speaker 1: but I mean. I could be wrong. It's become a real,
- 6:52Speaker 1: can you say pissing match? Yeah. Okay, good. Between Greg
- 6:55Speaker 1: Sankey and LSU. I mean, it's becoming a bigger and
- 7:01Speaker 1: bigger deal. And we're going to find out who's your daddy.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I mean, that's basically it. Because a lot of people
- 7:09Speaker 1: are going after LSU and Lane Kiffin. A lot of
- 7:12Speaker 1: people are now going really heavily after Greg Zanke, the
- 7:16Speaker 1: SEC commissioner. And it's just, it's a crazy situation. But yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 1: We'll talk about that in a little bit. But, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 1: first thing I want to talk about, and I know
- 7:25Speaker 1: this is ridiculous, but, you know, this show and my
- 7:28Speaker 1: brain is ridiculous, okay? That's true. You don't have to
- 7:32Speaker 1: agree so quickly.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah, you do. Can I ask you a question?
- 7:37Speaker 1: May I ask you a question?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Sure.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So we're in an Uber the other day going from
- 7:43Speaker 1: the Tampa airport. To our home in St. Petersburg. Okay.
- 7:47Speaker 1: All right. And I want to ask you, what would
- 7:50Speaker 1: you do in this instance? And it seems like it's
- 7:53Speaker 1: becoming more and more of a trend for Lyft and
- 7:58Speaker 1: Uber drivers. And I want you to know, did I
- 8:01Speaker 1: do the right thing or did I do the wrong thing?
- 8:04Speaker 1: So we're driving. We're getting on the expressway. The lady,
- 8:08Speaker 1: very nice. is going 45 miles an hour in a
- 8:14Speaker 1: 65 mile an hour zone. Pick it up, lady. At
- 8:18Speaker 1: that point, I'm thinking she's being told by Uber to
- 8:23Speaker 1: drive slow or she's gotten in trouble by the company
- 8:29Speaker 1: or something's going on for her to be driving. And
- 8:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's not just as she's getting on. It's
- 8:35Speaker 1: while we've been on the expressway two or three minutes. Hmm.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And we're still going 45, no more than 50 miles
- 8:42Speaker 1: an hour in a 65 zone. At that point, and
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm in the backseat, my wife's up front, and the
- 8:47Speaker 1: lady's driving, and one of my other sons is with us.
- 8:51Speaker 1: At that point, I'm looking at my son, and I'm like,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm nervous. I'm looking all around. I'm like, somebody is
- 8:57Speaker 1: going to bump us or run into us because we're
- 9:01Speaker 1: going so slow. He's like, don't say anything. Don't say anything.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And I'm getting nervous. Do you say something to the
- 9:08Speaker 1: driver or do you keep quiet? I would probably upset something.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You would have. I would. Yeah. I'd have been like,
- 9:16Speaker 1: is there a reason you're going so slow, ma'am? Yeah.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And you know, this has happened not just once. This
- 9:22Speaker 1: has happened two or three times now to where the
- 9:25Speaker 1: drivers are going really slow. And I'm not trying to
- 9:29Speaker 1: be a jerk. I, I, I just want to know why.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So I, I very, my, my son's rolling his eyes
- 9:36Speaker 1: and now he's curled up in the fetal position across
- 9:39Speaker 1: from me because he knows what I'm about to do.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I said, ma'am, do you mind going the speed limit?
- 9:47Speaker 1: That's all I said. Okay. My son looked at me,
- 9:50Speaker 1: my wife, Michael, we're fine. I said, Patricia, we're going
- 9:54Speaker 1: 20 miles under the speed limit. I'm nervous. And then the, the,
- 10:00Speaker 1: she goes the lady started apologizing my wife started apologizing
- 10:04Speaker 1: to her my son is again curled up in the
- 10:07Speaker 1: fetal position he is utterly embarrassed by their dad And
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't know what I did wrong. I honestly, Justin,
- 10:17Speaker 1: I didn't say it in a jerky way, which I
- 10:19Speaker 1: can do. I'll fully admit I can be a jerk,
- 10:22Speaker 1: but I didn't. I said, ma'am, I'm nervous. Somebody's going
- 10:25Speaker 1: to hit us from the back.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I don't really care anymore what you said. I'm more
- 10:30Speaker 3: concerned about what was her reaction. Her reaction was, I'm
- 10:34Speaker 3: so sorry. And then looks at my wife and only
- 10:37Speaker 3: talks to her. And says, well, you know, we're supposed
- 10:42Speaker 3: to keep it under a speed limit. I didn't say
- 10:47Speaker 3: anything else. I looked at my son and I said, yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I said two letters and BS. I mean, just whatever.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Wait, so she never gave you a reason? She never
- 10:58Speaker 1: gave me a reason. No. And then she proceeds to
- 11:01Speaker 1: talk to only my wife the entire drive.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And then when we get out of the car, we
- 11:07Speaker 1: have to go to the trunk. She has to open
- 11:09Speaker 1: the trunk. I go to get the bag. She never
- 11:12Speaker 1: once looked at me, never once said a word, said
- 11:14Speaker 1: to my wife, very nice meeting you. I enjoyed talking
- 11:17Speaker 1: to you. Said to my son, oh, have a nice night.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Never once said a thing to me. Because you're rude.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I'm rude because I said that. I, again, I did
- 11:29Speaker 1: not say it in a jerky way. I didn't say any.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I just said, all I said is this right here, man,
- 11:34Speaker 1: would you mind at least going the speed limit? And
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't see how that's a jerk. Am I being
- 11:38Speaker 1: a jerk saying that? I don't think that's a problem.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I don't think so either. Sounds like she was being
- 11:42Speaker 1: a sensitive Sally. I see. I think so too. Yeah.
- 11:46Speaker 1: So I just, that kind of stuff makes me nervous.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And I just envisioned, well, this is the end of
- 11:53Speaker 1: my life. Somebody's going to ram us from behind. Because
- 11:55Speaker 1: on that expressway in Tampa, it's called 275. And there's
- 12:00Speaker 1: like five lanes going over the Tampa Bay, over Tampa Bay.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It's called the Howard Franklin Bridge. And it's like, I
- 12:08Speaker 1: can't do this, man. I'm too freaking nervous. I mean,
- 12:11Speaker 1: it's basically like 264, right? The way people travel. Absolutely. So,
- 12:16Speaker 1: you know, it's interesting. I had an Uber driver or
- 12:18Speaker 1: a Lyft driver pick me up yesterday. And I said, sir,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you got to answer my question. I asked him the
- 12:25Speaker 1: entire ride from the airport here in town, Stanford Field,
- 12:29Speaker 1: all the way out to Prospect, is there a rule
- 12:33Speaker 1: that you're not allowed to go over the speed limit?
- 12:36Speaker 1: Do you get penalized? Is there an incentive? He goes, no,
- 12:39Speaker 1: there is somewhat of an incentive for us to go
- 12:42Speaker 1: the speed limit or whatever the average is. But, you know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: we can get dinged if we're going over the speed
- 12:51Speaker 1: limit too fast or too much for hard stops, for
- 12:56Speaker 1: really tight turns, all kinds of stuff. We can get
- 13:00Speaker 1: dinged for it. And I said, well, there is an incentive.
- 13:03Speaker 1: He goes, well, I guess there is. So I just,
- 13:06Speaker 1: I mean, we talked about the entire way. But what's
- 13:07Speaker 1: the incentive for going 20 mile under? I see. That's
- 13:10Speaker 1: what I think. They should be dinged for going way
- 13:14Speaker 1: too slow. But then he proceeded, the driver yesterday proceeded
- 13:17Speaker 1: to tell me they've really been cracking down on 264
- 13:20Speaker 1: on the Watterson. It's funny how you call it 264.
- 13:26Speaker 1: When you say 264, I got to think a minute.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Where's that? I'm not from here. It's the Watterson. Yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you are. You live here. You drive the Watterson every day.
- 13:35Speaker 1: It's called the Watterson. I never get on the Watterson.
- 13:39Speaker 1: What do you get on? 64. Okay, fine. Whatever. driving
- 13:42Speaker 1: me you see you're driving me nuts already so welcome
- 13:45Speaker 1: back michael let's just let's figure a way to get
- 13:47Speaker 1: his blood pressure up in a matter of seconds speaking
- 13:49Speaker 1: of yeah driving me crazy i got a text from
- 13:52Speaker 1: 48 handily it said glad michael's back he drives me
- 13:55Speaker 1: crazy good entertainment how am i driving him crazy i
- 14:02Speaker 1: don't get it i mean i really don't i just
- 14:05Speaker 1: I took that as a compliment. Do I sound like
- 14:08Speaker 1: a jerk? Is that what I sound like? I sound
- 14:10Speaker 1: like a jerk. He said good entertainment. Okay. All right, then.
- 14:13Speaker 1: That's what you are. Okay. Well, I appreciate that. It
- 14:15Speaker 1: was a boring week without you. It was?
- 14:17Speaker 3: Although I did thoroughly enjoy going to get breakfast every day.
- 14:21Speaker 3: That was an underrated.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Part of you being gone. Oh, really? Okay. So I've
- 14:27Speaker 1: interrupted your breakfast time. I got some today beside me. Oh,
- 14:30Speaker 1: you did? Yeah. What'd you bring me? I got me
- 14:34Speaker 1: a granola bar. Oh, that sounds really good. I love granola. Same.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I know it's quite to the contrary of many people
- 14:41Speaker 1: out there that do not like granola. When it's granola
- 14:44Speaker 1: with a little bit of chocolate chips in it, those
- 14:47Speaker 1: mini chocolate, it's like, oh, that's heaven right there. Good stuff. Yeah,
- 14:51Speaker 1: it is good stuff.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Mine's got chocolate chips in it, so I'm in good
- 14:54Speaker 3: shape over here.
- 14:55Speaker 1: All right. Well, I had a good time in Key West.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Saw a lot of beautiful sunset. It was cool because,
- 15:00Speaker 1: you know, the part of Florida that I love is
- 15:02Speaker 1: this time of year because it'll rain for a couple
- 15:04Speaker 1: of minutes. And, you know, you don't get down because
- 15:06Speaker 1: you watch the rain and then you know it's going
- 15:10Speaker 1: to be gone in a few minutes. That part's fine.
- 15:12Speaker 1: You should have sent some up here. Oh, really? We
- 15:15Speaker 1: need rain so bad. You missed. You couldn't have been
- 15:18Speaker 1: gone a better week. Oh, really? It didn't rain a bit.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It didn't rain a bit and it was so stupid
- 15:26Speaker 1: hot this week. Oh, yeah. I mean, ridiculously hot. Oh, wow. Okay, well,
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'm sorry to hear that. I mean, yesterday, I think
- 15:33Speaker 1: it was 99. Really? Yeah. Wow. Okay, that's pretty hot.
- 15:38Speaker 1: All right, then let's go ahead and take our first break.
- 15:41Speaker 1: You know, we got to talk about some sports. And
- 15:45Speaker 1: I know I keep telling myself that we're going to
- 15:47Speaker 1: talk about that. We're going to talk about UK basketball
- 15:50Speaker 1: losing Mark Mitchell. We'll talk about that a few minutes.
- 15:53Speaker 1: We're losing a player for about three to five weeks.
- 15:56Speaker 1: We'll talk about that because we'll get some breaking news
- 15:58Speaker 1: on that one. Plus, guess what, Justin? What's that? We
- 16:02Speaker 1: got a football game tomorrow. And I'm looking forward to it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And also, 9 o'clock, Corey Price is coming in for
- 16:08Speaker 1: a special one today. Yeah, he missed his Tuesday. He did.
- 16:12Speaker 1: So he wants to make it up and come in today.
- 16:14Speaker 1: So there you go. He had a bad day yesterday. Oh,
- 16:16Speaker 1: he did? Why? His top button broke. Oh, that's right.
- 16:20Speaker 1: He texted us. I forgot about that. First time in
- 16:23Speaker 1: 30 years he didn't have his top button done. That's
- 16:26Speaker 1: a wild... Yeah, I thought we needed to do a
- 16:28Speaker 1: wellness check with him just to make sure he was okay.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I mean, my goodness. I thought that was so funny
- 16:34Speaker 1: that he texted you and me to let us know
- 16:36Speaker 1: that his top button wasn't buttoned for the first time
- 16:40Speaker 1: in his entire life. I love that. That's what I
- 16:43Speaker 1: love about you and Corey Price, okay? Because y'all are
- 16:45Speaker 1: genuine people. I'm not. I'm just a ridiculous idiot, so... Anyway,
- 16:49Speaker 1: let's go ahead and take a break. 502-384-1450. You want
- 16:52Speaker 1: to call 502-414-1451. Text. Hey, guess what? We're not streaming.
- 16:58Speaker 1: So you got to go on YouTube. I don't know
- 17:00Speaker 1: how those people are going to learn about it, but
- 17:01Speaker 1: I'm going to text you right now. So, you know,
- 17:03Speaker 1: see you in a minute. This is just a cat.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Sometimes it's lonely.
- 17:11Speaker 5: Sometimes it's only me and the. that filled this room.
- 17:49Speaker 5: There's a for sale sign on the big old rusty
- 17:53Speaker 5: tractor You can't miss it, it's the first thing that
- 17:58Speaker 5: you see Just up the road a pale blue water
- 18:04Speaker 5: tower I love Jenny painted in bright green That's my
- 18:12Speaker 5: Uncle Bill there by the courthouse You know why.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I like this song? Uh, no. It's going to be done. Well, I,
- 18:33Speaker 1: lo and behold, I heard this song. It's like, oh
- 18:35Speaker 1: my gosh, they just said church of Christ. And that's
- 18:38Speaker 1: the church I go to. That's why you like the song?
- 18:40Speaker 1: And that's why I like the song. And then come
- 18:43Speaker 1: to find out, it's like, oh, I like the meaning
- 18:45Speaker 1: of it because it's my town. And then come to
- 18:48Speaker 1: find out it's Montgomery Gentry that's from Kentucky. I know
- 18:52Speaker 1: everybody's rolling your eyes, okay? I just, I don't know
- 18:56Speaker 1: country music. I just don't. And then one of them's
- 19:02Speaker 1: passed away, hasn't he? I believe so. I don't know
- 19:05Speaker 1: which one it is, but I like them. Well, I
- 19:07Speaker 1: like that song. I like that they're from Kentucky. No,
- 19:10Speaker 1: they're good. They're a good band. Yeah. Are they really?
- 19:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I like a number of their songs. Oh, you do? Okay. Well,
- 19:15Speaker 1: that was one that I really liked.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I could probably sing like 10 of their songs. That
- 19:19Speaker 3: would be 10 of my 10,000.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah. You can sing 10 of Montgomery Gentry songs.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Maybe more. Wow. All right. You know, unusual for me.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I picked four songs today. Yeah. The other two. Pick
- 19:34Speaker 1: another Montgomery Gentry that you really like. I mean, I
- 19:38Speaker 1: was going to go with the football theme. Oh, never mind. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Never mind. You go with the football theme. You go
- 19:44Speaker 1: with what you want. I'm sorry. One day I want
- 19:47Speaker 1: you to pick another Montgomery Gentry song, though. I can
- 19:49Speaker 1: do that. And you tell me, Hey Michael, I'm playing
- 19:51Speaker 1: Montgomery Gentry. This is one of my, I'm just going
- 19:53Speaker 1: to play it and see if you can figure it
- 19:55Speaker 1: out that it's them.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Okay. Well, it'll be like an Easter egg built into
- 20:00Speaker 1: the show. Ooh, I like that even more. Yes. I mean,
- 20:03Speaker 1: anytime you put sugar in front of me, even mention it,
- 20:06Speaker 1: I'm good with that. Okay. One person said, go cats
- 20:10Speaker 1: and go Krogering. Here's what I'm going to do. Everybody
- 20:13Speaker 1: that mentions that grocery store, I'm going to mention Publix
- 20:16Speaker 1: twice more. Publix, Publix. Okay. So there you go. I just,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I just, I don't like it. I don't like that
- 20:24Speaker 1: our stadium is called that. Okay. So it's Commonwealth stadium
- 20:27Speaker 1: and I'm forever going to call it Commonwealth stadium. Maybe
- 20:29Speaker 1: the text was meant to say, go K Roger. See,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I love that. Who is that actor that said that
- 20:35Speaker 1: by the way, that lives over in Lexington. Something's on. Yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Steve's on. That's it. Steve's on. Love that guy. I'm disappointed.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I don't know if they've done a preseason infomercial that
- 20:48Speaker 1: he usually does. I guess that was a Mark Stoops thing.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm not trying to hate on the guy, but is
- 20:52Speaker 1: there a more irrelevant actor? Oh, wait a minute now.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Has he been in a lot
- 20:59Speaker 1: of stuff? I don't know if I've ever seen him
- 21:01Speaker 1: in anything.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Serious?
- 21:03Speaker 1: Okay, did you ever see the movie with Meg Ryan
- 21:05Speaker 1: called You've Got Mail? I mean, maybe way back. All right,
- 21:08Speaker 1: you saw that. He was in a Tom Hanks movie
- 21:11Speaker 1: where he was in a band. He was in Daddy Daycare.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I've seen that. He was in Daddy Daycare. He was
- 21:17Speaker 1: in Righteous Gemstones. Never seen that. You've never seen Righteous Gemstones?
- 21:22Speaker 2: Nope.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, man. He's in Chad Powers. I've been
- 21:26Speaker 1: wanting to watch that. Yeah, yeah. Steve Zahn has been in,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I'm trying to think what else is out there. White Lotus. Oh,
- 21:34Speaker 1: that's right. He was in White Lotus. I think that
- 21:36Speaker 1: was the second season. All right, I take back my statement. Yes. Oh,
- 21:41Speaker 1: I hate to tell you, it's kind of a dumb statement,
- 21:44Speaker 1: but no. Nothing changed while you were gone, buddy. That's
- 21:47Speaker 1: what I love about you, and that's the part I
- 21:49Speaker 1: miss the most. Steve Zahn is more relevant than you're
- 21:51Speaker 1: giving him credit for. I love the guy. I think
- 21:54Speaker 1: he's hilarious, and I'd like to have him come on
- 21:56Speaker 1: this show. I think I'd lose my mind if he did.
- 22:00Speaker 1: We'll see if one day. I haven't reached out to
- 22:02Speaker 1: see if I could. Maybe I should. Maybe that's my
- 22:04Speaker 1: next goal is to get him to come on this
- 22:06Speaker 1: radio show.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I did meet... I will say this. I know we're
- 22:10Speaker 1: not a political show.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I know. But I did meet our Kentucky congressman, Jamie Comer,
- 22:20Speaker 1: before I left to go on vacation. And I have
- 22:24Speaker 1: to say, I was pretty excited about that. What a
- 22:27Speaker 1: great guy. And then he... Well, I won't get into
- 22:31Speaker 1: any more of it, but he'd like to come on
- 22:33Speaker 1: this show. And I'm like, oh, geez, man. I can't
- 22:35Speaker 1: do it. We can't do it. Yeah. I'm a little
- 22:38Speaker 1: worried about that. So, all right. Tomorrow, UK is playing
- 22:45Speaker 1: Youngstown State. How excited are we about UK and Youngstown State? Oh,
- 22:50Speaker 1: I mean, there's all kinds of excitement. There's all kinds
- 22:53Speaker 1: of excitement in multitude of ways. For sure. What should
- 22:56Speaker 1: Kentucky fans be the most excited about coming from your mind?
- 23:01Speaker 3: I mean, just seeing something new, seeing a new coaching
- 23:04Speaker 3: staff and what Will Stein's going to do with this
- 23:07Speaker 3: program and how he runs his things. It's going to
- 23:11Speaker 3: look so much different from Mark Stoops because no offense
- 23:15Speaker 3: to Mark Stoops, but there were times where you would
- 23:17Speaker 3: watch Kentucky and It got a little boring. And I'm
- 23:21Speaker 3: not knocking the strategy of just trying to win the
- 23:25Speaker 3: time of possession, but Will Stein's not going to be
- 23:27Speaker 3: like that. He is going to be very much, let's
- 23:30Speaker 3: air it out, let's try to get a bunch of
- 23:32Speaker 3: points up on the board. So for me, it's just
- 23:35Speaker 3: the differing styles is what, if I'm a Kentucky fan,
- 23:38Speaker 3: I'd be the most excited about.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because no offense to Mark Stoops. I'm not going
- 23:44Speaker 1: to say anything negative about the guy. Uh, but it's
- 23:48Speaker 1: kind of nice to see an offensive mind take over
- 23:52Speaker 1: instead of a defensive mind. For sure. It just became
- 23:55Speaker 1: now when, when Cohen was here, it was kind of exciting,
- 24:00Speaker 1: but I think there is a new dynamic on the
- 24:03Speaker 1: offensive side. And, uh, I, I foresee us getting, uh,
- 24:09Speaker 1: potentially better quarterbacks coming to Kentucky. Because that's the one
- 24:13Speaker 1: thing we did not see. I know a number of
- 24:15Speaker 1: you are going to really criticize me for saying this,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but I hate to tell you, UK really didn't have
- 24:21Speaker 1: a great quarterback during the tenure of Mark Stoops. You
- 24:24Speaker 1: can say Will Levis all you want. In my mind,
- 24:28Speaker 1: he was a good quarterback, not a great quarterback. But
- 24:31Speaker 1: there's not 32 better NFL quarterbacks. Oh my gosh, man.
- 24:35Speaker 1: That poor guy is getting ridiculed. As he should be. See,
- 24:39Speaker 1: I agree with you. I was always really surprised and shocked.
- 24:44Speaker 1: In fact, I had a debate a couple years ago.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Not when he met about a year ago with Vince
- 24:51Speaker 1: Merrill saying, Will Stein is not a great quarterback. He
- 24:55Speaker 1: looked at me and goes, that's the dumbest comment you've
- 24:57Speaker 1: ever made. I said, I stand by what I say.
- 25:01Speaker 1: And I still believe that. And he's like, oh, Michael,
- 25:05Speaker 1: the Titans think a lot of them. And I said, well,
- 25:08Speaker 1: I'm going to the Titans. What did I say? No,
- 25:12Speaker 1: that's my point. Yeah, exactly. Settle down, Vince. It's the Titans. Well,
- 25:16Speaker 1: here's the other problem. You know the only team that
- 25:19Speaker 1: is looking at possibly picking him up? He's got a
- 25:24Speaker 1: trial today for the practice squad of the Jets. Yikes.
- 25:32Speaker 1: That should define right there. That's not good. No, it's
- 25:38Speaker 1: not good. In fact, that's really bad as far as
- 25:43Speaker 1: I'm concerned. So, yeah, poor Will. I mean, I'm not
- 25:47Speaker 1: going to sit here and just bash him. No, he
- 25:49Speaker 1: was a good quarterback at UK. He just wasn't great.
- 25:52Speaker 1: And man, social media went off on him talking about
- 25:57Speaker 1: that whole 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me.
- 26:01Speaker 1: And that there's not. Uh, so yeah, it's the, so
- 26:05Speaker 1: today's trying out for the jets for the practice team
- 26:08Speaker 1: and it's between him and the current United football league, MVP,
- 26:13Speaker 1: Jake Plummer. So how do you like that? You like
- 26:18Speaker 1: those apples, don't you? Jack Plummer though, right? That's what
- 26:21Speaker 1: I said. Jack Plummer. I thought you said Jake.
- 26:23Speaker 4: No.
- 26:23Speaker 1: No. Jack Plummer. If I did say Jake, I meant Jack. So, no,
- 26:27Speaker 1: Jack Plummer. Another Louisville, Kentucky rivalry. Exactly. In fact, on
- 26:31Speaker 1: the practice squad, that was the former Western Kentucky quarterback.
- 26:35Speaker 1: There's all kinds of Kentucky connections to the Jets. I mean,
- 26:39Speaker 1: that's a real fall from grace.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 1: And the guy dated Gia, what's her name? I don't know,
- 26:46Speaker 1: but ever since that, his life has not been good. No,
- 26:50Speaker 1: she was the good luck charm. And because I looked
- 26:53Speaker 1: at her, and it was Gia something. I forget what
- 26:56Speaker 1: her last name is. Duddy or Dada? That's it, Duddy.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Is it Duddy? Yeah, Gia Duddy. She's beautiful. And I think,
- 27:03Speaker 1: what an idiot for breaking up with her. Maybe she
- 27:06Speaker 1: dumped him. I don't know. But I always got the
- 27:09Speaker 1: feeling that he kind of dumped on her. But I'm like,
- 27:13Speaker 1: ever since, you're right. I think that's the best comment
- 27:15Speaker 1: you've ever made. Ever since she has been out of
- 27:19Speaker 1: the picture, life has gone the other way. It was
- 27:22Speaker 1: the whole tape thing. Ever since that came out.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 1: It feels like his life has just not been the same. Yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I wasn't even thinking about that. I know. I mean, listen.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You get, when people are, oh, please take that down. Listen. Listen.
- 27:39Speaker 1: If you're begging people to take that down, you should
- 27:43Speaker 1: have never recorded it in the first place is the
- 27:45Speaker 1: way I look at it. There's a reason that you
- 27:48Speaker 1: do not record certain things on your phone or anything
- 27:53Speaker 1: like that. That's why I try not to do– it
- 27:57Speaker 1: doesn't matter if I'm on the radio or not. I
- 27:59Speaker 1: try not to do stupid stuff out in public. I
- 28:01Speaker 1: do it in the privacy of my own home. That's
- 28:04Speaker 1: when I do.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Or on air.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Or, well, yeah, but it's not, it's, it's on radio. So, well,
- 28:09Speaker 1: people can't see because I'm on freaking YouTube. That's right.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Dad gone. And I can't do stupid stuff anymore. That's
- 28:16Speaker 1: a bummer. I like doing stupid stuff. So anyway, I
- 28:19Speaker 1: like making dumb comments, but yeah, this whole thing's crazy.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Let's get back to UK and Yonge State. Are you
- 28:26Speaker 1: surprised about the spread? 23 and a half points. Not really.
- 28:32Speaker 3: I would have maybe thought it would have been a
- 28:34Speaker 3: smidge higher, but that seems about right.
- 28:38Speaker 1: It does? Okay. Because CBS Sports, you know, they're the
- 28:41Speaker 1: people that said upset alert UK versus Youngstown State. And
- 28:45Speaker 1: Youngstown looked good their first week. Yeah. Well, they are.
- 28:48Speaker 1: But it was against them. They are good. I mean,
- 28:50Speaker 1: it was against a horrible team. Well, they're one of
- 28:54Speaker 1: the best offenses in the FCS, especially in the running game.
- 29:00Speaker 1: They have a, are you ready for this? They have
- 29:02Speaker 1: a senior dual threat quarterback. His name's Bo Brengard. Okay. Okay.
- 29:10Speaker 1: He is six foot 10.
- 29:12Speaker 6: What?
- 29:13Speaker 1: You heard me right. He is six foot 10 inches.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I'm like, holy cow. No wonder he's a dual threat.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I mean, if he takes one stride, he's already five
- 29:26Speaker 1: yards down the football field. What's his name? Bo Brungard. B-R-U-N-G-A-R-D.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I'm showing him at six foot. Somebody put on there
- 29:39Speaker 1: six foot.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Ten.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Okay, Mo, maybe I'm wrong. It must be six foot one.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I think they do have, let me look up their roster,
- 29:46Speaker 3: because I do think they have a really tall wide receiver.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Okay, well, maybe it's that one. So I screwed up.
- 29:51Speaker 1: What's new? They're right. Good point. Exactly. Running back is
- 29:57Speaker 1: Jaden Gilbert. He ran for 670 yards in 96 carries
- 30:03Speaker 1: last season. And going back to Bo Brunyard, their quarterback,
- 30:07Speaker 1: he threw for 1,400 yards last year. No, he ran
- 30:12Speaker 1: for more than 1,400 yards and passed for 3,200 yards.
- 30:18Speaker 1: So those are two of their best players right there.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Kicks off at 1 o'clock. Here's the only problem. It's
- 30:24Speaker 1: on the SEC Network Plus. Yeah, what the hell? Now,
- 30:28Speaker 1: I know, and there's a bunch of them that are
- 30:29Speaker 1: on the SEC Plus. Now, here's the good part, though.
- 30:33Speaker 1: For me and you, because you're on YouTube, right? Yep.
- 30:36Speaker 1: All right. Well, no, I mean, not really, but I
- 30:38Speaker 1: got ESPN, so that covers it. Oh, you do?
- 30:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:40Speaker 1: All right. Well, you're good to go with that. YouTube
- 30:43Speaker 1: subscribers now, the TV version of it, you're going to
- 30:47Speaker 1: get it without having to go through the computer or
- 30:48Speaker 1: anything else. Or ESPN and all that kind of stuff.
- 30:51Speaker 1: That's awesome. It's going to come right up on your
- 30:53Speaker 1: TV and you're going to be able to watch it.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Which I think, exactly. YouTube is real. I've been a
- 30:58Speaker 1: member of YouTube now, I think, two years. And I
- 31:02Speaker 1: really believe they are stepping it up compared to anybody else.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I've been very happy with it. Now, my only complaint
- 31:09Speaker 1: about YouTube... is they didn't have TVG, but you know what?
- 31:13Speaker 1: They were the brilliant ones because, you know, TVG is
- 31:16Speaker 1: going away. It'll be interesting to see what horse racing
- 31:18Speaker 1: does after this. But, uh, uh, I'm, I'm hoping FF, uh,
- 31:22Speaker 1: FX one or two picks it up. Like they've done with, uh,
- 31:26Speaker 1: they've been doing a lot. Yeah. Yeah. But we'll talk
- 31:29Speaker 1: about that a little later as well. But, uh, I'm
- 31:32Speaker 1: the most excited because it's a new offensive guy. I'm
- 31:36Speaker 1: the most excited because this is a completely different team
- 31:39Speaker 1: and they're trying to be completely different. I mean, it's
- 31:42Speaker 1: going to be a new environment, new concessions. We've already
- 31:45Speaker 1: talked about all that kind of stuff. I like a
- 31:48Speaker 1: new flavor of UK football. I'm very excited about this. Now,
- 31:53Speaker 1: is it going to be packed? I don't think the
- 31:55Speaker 1: game sold out yet, is it? I haven't heard anything
- 31:59Speaker 1: about it. I haven't either, and I haven't looked it
- 32:02Speaker 1: up as well. So I don't know if that's the
- 32:05Speaker 1: case or not. It's going to be fun. It's going
- 32:09Speaker 1: to be a lot of tailgating. People have been set
- 32:11Speaker 1: up for this now for the last two weeks. I
- 32:14Speaker 1: think the excitement with all the football people, I hope
- 32:17Speaker 1: some of the basketball people are excited about this because
- 32:20Speaker 1: it's a new day and age. You look at this.
- 32:22Speaker 1: We're looking at a program that has... A new football coach,
- 32:26Speaker 1: a completely new team, a completely new organization under football.
- 32:33Speaker 1: University of Kentucky has a basketball coach that's still relatively
- 32:39Speaker 1: new and a brand new athletic director. I mean, that's
- 32:44Speaker 1: three major jobs within a major Division I college. That's huge.
- 32:51Speaker 1: And I like the way this program is moving. I
- 32:54Speaker 1: like everything Jay Batt is doing so far. I think
- 32:57Speaker 1: he's hitting home runs. And I love, you know, you
- 32:59Speaker 1: and I talked about before I left to go out
- 33:01Speaker 1: for a week. The home runs that social media and
- 33:06Speaker 1: the football program is putting up there. Did you see
- 33:08Speaker 1: the jersey reveal yesterday? No, I missed it. They did
- 33:11Speaker 1: it in... Like, some big UK fan's man cave. Oh, really? Like,
- 33:17Speaker 1: where he's got just UK stuff everywhere. Really? Okay, I'm
- 33:21Speaker 1: jealous of that.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Okay.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I mean, so, like, that was another hit for me.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I saw that, and I was like, are you kidding me? Wow.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Just went to some random guy's basement and filmed their
- 33:29Speaker 1: Jersey reveal. I wonder whose house that was. Great question. Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 1: we'll find out. All right, we're going to take a break.
- 33:36Speaker 1: As soon as we get back, I promise I'm going
- 33:37Speaker 1: to get to your text messages. We'll get those.
- 33:41Speaker 2: 502-384-1450.
- 33:41Speaker 1: You want to call 502-414-1450. Wisconsin guy's really giving me
- 33:47Speaker 1: a hard way to go. We'll talk about that Wisconsin guy, okay?
- 33:52Speaker 1: But we'll stay right there. We've got a lot more
- 33:54Speaker 1: to go, and I'm glad to be back.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Well, I was born when I was raised. Well, I
- 34:00Speaker 4: keep all my yesterdays when I ran off. The brotherhood
- 34:11Speaker 4: made in the ground This is.
- 34:13Speaker 2: My town.
- 34:39Speaker 5: I feel that chill, smell that fresh cut grass. I'm
- 34:45Speaker 5: back in my helmet.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Cleats and shoulder pads.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Standing in the huddle, listening to the call.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Fans going crazy.
- 35:00Speaker 1: For I mean, this song gives me cold chills. Can
- 35:04Speaker 1: I say that? It's good. I'm not a fan of
- 35:07Speaker 1: the singer, but this is a nice song right here. No, don't.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Leave it up for just a second. Everything he says
- 35:16Speaker 1: there is so true. I mean, the smell of fall,
- 35:20Speaker 1: the smell of the grass, and the dew coming down.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It's like, oh, this gets me ready for football right now.
- 35:26Speaker 1: The boys of fall. There you go. All right, thank you.
- 35:29Speaker 1: That's enough of Kenny.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Bye.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. But yeah, yeah. They're
- 35:40Speaker 1: not kidding. Oh, the stories I could tell, but maybe
- 35:48Speaker 1: another day. One person texted. I love this. This is
- 35:51Speaker 1: how we start off the text line this morning. Sorry,
- 35:55Speaker 1: ignore the random. It's like, what the heck? And then
- 35:59Speaker 1: I have to go read the random, okay? I have
- 36:02Speaker 1: to go read the random. I'm not ignoring. These are
- 36:06Speaker 1: the ridiculous texts that we get on this show. I
- 36:09Speaker 1: need Blankenbaker's babysitter info. How is he able to go
- 36:14Speaker 1: to all these events with a young kid? How are
- 36:21Speaker 1: you listening to two different shows, buddy? Exactly. Is that
- 36:25Speaker 1: what it is? I guess. I mean, Blankenbaker's on the
- 36:28Speaker 1: air now, right? Who's Blankenbaker? He's a Louisville guy. Him
- 36:32Speaker 1: and Diener. Oh, okay. Yeah, by the way, Drew Diener
- 36:36Speaker 1: gets around. What do you mean by that? Did you see?
- 36:42Speaker 1: Don't get me started there. He's got a history. Excuse me.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Somebody put a video of him, was it himself, at
- 36:52Speaker 1: the U.S. a tennis championships or a U S open
- 36:58Speaker 1: tennis championships up in New York. Okay. And a tennis
- 37:01Speaker 1: ball came up into the stands and he caught it
- 37:03Speaker 1: seriously and throws it back out onto the court. I
- 37:07Speaker 1: thought you could keep tennis balls when they came up
- 37:09Speaker 1: into the stands. Can you not? All right. Think about this.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Think about all the different places you can go to
- 37:16Speaker 1: keep the ball. You can go to a baseball game,
- 37:19Speaker 1: foul ball, home run, anything players constantly throwing balls up
- 37:22Speaker 1: in the stands. You get to keep it right.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Yep.
- 37:25Speaker 1: A football. In the NFL, if a football comes up
- 37:28Speaker 1: into the stands, you get to keep it, right?
- 37:30Speaker 4: Yep.
- 37:31Speaker 1: All right. There's only two sports. How about soccer? If
- 37:36Speaker 1: a ball comes up into the stands.
- 37:38Speaker 2: No.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Why? That's what's wrong with that sport. What about hockey?
- 37:45Speaker 1: Do you get to keep the puck? You get to
- 37:46Speaker 1: keep the puck. The puck is yours. So it's soccer.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I guess tennis, you're not allowed to keep the ball.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And basketball, you're not allowed to keep the ball.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Correct.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Why not? If that ball comes up to the stands,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm taking it home. Those things cost money, Michael. Oh, what?
- 38:04Speaker 1: It costs them, what, $ 20 a basketball? You think money
- 38:07Speaker 1: grows on trees around athletics? Oh, my God. Crazy? I know.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I know you're being facious right now, or the correct pronunciation, facetious. But, yeah. Okay,
- 38:18Speaker 1: I need Blankenbaker's babysitter info, okay? I don't know who
- 38:22Speaker 1: Blankenbaker is, but more power to you, Blankenbaker, if you're
- 38:25Speaker 1: doing all this kind of stuff. So he's a UofL guy.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Correct.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And his name is Blankenbaker? That's his last name. Is
- 38:31Speaker 1: he related to the actual street? Because that's an unusual
- 38:35Speaker 1: last name. I couldn't tell you. Interesting. All right. Uh,
- 38:39Speaker 1: this is just, uh, this just in Tim couch is
- 38:42Speaker 1: going back to Kentucky for his fifth year. Well done. Yes. That, that, listen,
- 38:51Speaker 1: if you haven't seen Tim couch lately, I think he
- 38:54Speaker 1: could go back to UK right now for his fit. Oh,
- 38:57Speaker 1: no fit is not the proper term for Tim couch.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Just to let you know, he is ripped. I mean,
- 39:06Speaker 1: I would not say anything negative towards him. Holy smokes. Oh,
- 39:11Speaker 1: so now you're looking him up. He is ripped. He
- 39:13Speaker 1: is completely ripped.
- 39:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:17Speaker 1: I think he could play a fifth season at UK
- 39:19Speaker 1: right now. Yeah. And I'm proud of him for that.
- 39:22Speaker 1: But anyway, great guy, by the way. You'll never hear
- 39:25Speaker 1: me say a negative thing about him. John here. Michael,
- 39:29Speaker 1: glad to hear you.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Back.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Hey, even without Mitchell, I believe our cats can still
- 39:34Speaker 1: make a run at number nine. Also, I have our
- 39:36Speaker 1: football cats winning by 23 big ones. They will cover.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Kenny Minchie will throw for three TDs and run one in.
- 39:47Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 39:48Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Let's talk about Mark Mitchell. What do you think? See,
- 39:53Speaker 1: I'm already messing his name up. I know it's Mark Mitchell.
- 39:56Speaker 1: And then a second later, I'm thinking, no, it's Matthew Mitchell.
- 39:58Speaker 1: It's like, no, that's the former basketball coach. I just
- 40:02Speaker 1: I was like, well, now you don't have to worry.
- 40:03Speaker 1: I don't have to worry about it. What do we
- 40:05Speaker 1: think about this? I mean, it's just a bunch of crap.
- 40:10Speaker 1: It really is. And to not allow, and now Greg
- 40:14Speaker 1: Sankey saying, well, you're not going to allow this player
- 40:17Speaker 1: because it's an intra-conference transfer. That, to me, is probably
- 40:24Speaker 1: the dumbest rule of all.
- 40:25Speaker 3: What about Mo Diabate going from Kentucky to LSU? What
- 40:28Speaker 3: about Denzel Aberdeen going from Kentucky to Florida? What about,
- 40:32Speaker 3: I mean, I could just rattle them off over and
- 40:34Speaker 3: over and over. All the guys that already inter-conference transferred. Well,
- 40:39Speaker 3: the thing about you're supposed to do it the right way.
- 40:41Speaker 3: You're supposed to have your name in the transfer portal
- 40:43Speaker 3: and all that kind of crap. Why would Mark put
- 40:47Speaker 3: his name in the transfer portal when he didn't have eligibility?
- 40:50Speaker 1: That's the one thing to me that is. so stupid
- 40:53Speaker 1: about all this.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Like, you're punishing him because he didn't put his name
- 40:57Speaker 3: in the portal, but he had no reason to put
- 40:59Speaker 3: his name in the portal.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Exactly. I mean, to me, this is, it's just really ridiculous.
- 41:04Speaker 1: And now, LSU is fighting all this. So, with LSU
- 41:08Speaker 1: winning yesterday, does that allow Mark Mitchell to come back
- 41:11Speaker 1: to Kentucky? Because he doesn't want to go to Missouri.
- 41:14Speaker 4: No.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Let's be honest with that. That ship sailed.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Ugh.
- 41:18Speaker 1: It's sailed. I mean, I agree with you. I have
- 41:20Speaker 1: to tell you that, but I know, no, you're right.
- 41:22Speaker 1: There's no way.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Like you'd already, he'd already enrolled in Kentucky. Then you
- 41:26Speaker 3: enroll back in Missouri. You're not going to pull out
- 41:28Speaker 3: of Missouri and enroll.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Can you imagine though? It's like, okay, I'm going to Kentucky.
- 41:33Speaker 1: This is going to be a lot of fun. The
- 41:35Speaker 1: fan base is really behind me. Oh, I got to
- 41:38Speaker 1: go back to Missouri.
- 41:40Speaker 3: I mean, he didn't have to go back. I don't
- 41:43Speaker 3: know if he had to go back to Missouri or not.
- 41:45Speaker 3: I guess he could have gone elsewhere outside the conference.
- 41:48Speaker 3: He probably could have, but where else is there? The
- 41:51Speaker 3: easy road was to go back to Missouri, and it's
- 41:53Speaker 3: really a shame. Well, I mean, is that the easy road, though?
- 41:56Speaker 3: Because they already had 15 on their roster. So somebody's
- 41:59Speaker 3: getting the shaft because Mark Mitchell's coming back. And if
- 42:02Speaker 3: you're the NCAA, that's what you don't want to happen.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Because you made these rules for fairness and that next
- 42:10Speaker 3: generation of players to come up and have their opportunity.
- 42:13Speaker 3: And if you're having to remove somebody from a team
- 42:16Speaker 3: to free up a spot, that goes against everything that
- 42:19Speaker 3: they started all this.
- 42:20Speaker 1: We have officially gotten to a point. It's at the
- 42:24Speaker 1: point of no return of being ridiculous. And I'm at
- 42:28Speaker 1: a point, which I've always respected Greg Sankey. I'm to
- 42:32Speaker 1: a point now I'm losing respect for him. And he's
- 42:36Speaker 1: coming across like a little dictator clown. And I hate
- 42:40Speaker 1: to say that because I've always liked Greg Sankey. I
- 42:43Speaker 1: thought he had always looked out what is best for
- 42:47Speaker 1: the conference. And now at this point, I think his
- 42:51Speaker 1: ego is getting in the way and chaos has been created.
- 42:56Speaker 1: And he drew a line in the sand. LSU is
- 43:00Speaker 1: standing to it. I mean, I think you used the
- 43:04Speaker 1: right word there with chaos because I do think he
- 43:06Speaker 1: is trying to uphold the standards and the value of
- 43:09Speaker 1: the SEC. And it just came across where it felt
- 43:13Speaker 1: like Kentucky was getting screwed in this whole situation. But
- 43:16Speaker 1: now we're at the point where it feels like LSU
- 43:19Speaker 1: is going to get screwed. Yeah, I know that judge
- 43:20Speaker 1: came out and said those two pros can play. But
- 43:23Speaker 1: I hope more than anything, and I said this on
- 43:25Speaker 1: my show this morning, I hope more than anything, LSU
- 43:28Speaker 1: plays those two guys, and then Greg Sankey comes out
- 43:31Speaker 1: and says, huh, Blank Kevin, you're suspended half a season.
- 43:34Speaker 1: We told you you couldn't do this. You went and
- 43:36Speaker 1: did it anyways. I hope it screws LSU. Well, not
- 43:39Speaker 1: just that, but, you know, the threat has been thrown
- 43:42Speaker 1: out there, if they do, that LSU potentially is looking
- 43:44Speaker 1: at being kicked out of the conference. Can you imagine
- 43:47Speaker 1: taking a school like LSU and kicking them out? That'd
- 43:53Speaker 1: be wild. That would be the dumbest thing ever by
- 43:56Speaker 1: both sides. I think LSU would end up landing okay.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I think it hurts the SEC. Because that's a big school. Listen,
- 44:08Speaker 1: you're going to lose all of Louisiana. That's a lot
- 44:11Speaker 1: of viewers down there. Yeah, but I mean, we've talked
- 44:15Speaker 1: about replacements in the past. You could find somebody to
- 44:18Speaker 1: fill that spot if they can get out of their obligation.
- 44:20Speaker 1: It would be easy to fill it. Don't get me wrong.
- 44:24Speaker 1: But I don't think the SEC wants to replace and
- 44:27Speaker 1: fill it with somebody else. I think that's the concern
- 44:30Speaker 1: right there. They want to keep who they have and
- 44:35Speaker 1: then add at a later time. All I know is
- 44:38Speaker 1: they're going to be completely irrelevant in basketball. Will Wade.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Will Wade. He's in some serious trouble. Yeah. They do
- 44:46Speaker 1: not have a roster. He has been banking on all
- 44:50Speaker 1: of this to just go away. He's been banking on
- 44:52Speaker 1: the foreign players that are now going to be ineligible. Ineligible. Yeah, exactly.
- 44:57Speaker 1: It's just, it's gotten completely ridiculous. And I just, it's like,
- 45:04Speaker 1: what do you do now? Because I don't care if
- 45:07Speaker 1: LSU plays these players. They really didn't play in the end.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Everybody is a professional today. That's all there is to it. So,
- 45:15Speaker 1: hour two coming right up. And stay right there because
- 45:18Speaker 1: I've got a lot more to talk about.
- 45:21Speaker 2: We're the boys of fall.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Well, let's turn and face the stars and stripes. It's
- 45:28Speaker 1: fighting back them butterflies. It's calling in the air all right. Yes, sir,
- 45:35Speaker 1: we want the ball.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I did.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. All right,
- 45:55Speaker 1: now we're number two on this Friday as we get
- 45:58Speaker 1: you ready for a little football. Last night, tonight, and tomorrow.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I mean, all kinds of just all these games going
- 46:06Speaker 1: on right now. I'm thoroughly enjoying. But by the way, Justin,
- 46:09Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw this or not, but
- 46:11Speaker 1: did you see where Rutgers Rutgers football, which paid $ 1. 5
- 46:19Speaker 1: million to UMass to come and play them and lost.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I did.
- 46:26Speaker 3: I actually watched the entirety of the second half because
- 46:31Speaker 3: my dumb ass decided, you know what? Rutgers, they were
- 46:35Speaker 3: a 29 and a half point favorite.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Exactly. Please don't tell me you bet on this. They're
- 46:39Speaker 1: only down 17 and a half. That's nothing. I bet.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Did you really?
- 46:45Speaker 4: Wow.
- 46:45Speaker 1: What an idiot. And then they're getting a lot of
- 46:50Speaker 1: grief because of the fact that they had planned fireworks,
- 46:54Speaker 1: a fireworks show. And there was like six people there. Exactly.
- 46:57Speaker 1: And also, did you know their head coach, Greg Sciano,
- 47:01Speaker 1: was going for his 100th win last night? Oh, was
- 47:03Speaker 1: he really? And he didn't get it. I wonder what
- 47:06Speaker 1: Tennessee fans, because I look at him and I still
- 47:09Speaker 1: think of Tennessee. Because, you know, he was the coach
- 47:11Speaker 1: that was coming to the University of Tennessee, the next
- 47:15Speaker 1: football coach there, and the fans caught wind of it
- 47:18Speaker 1: and totally denied it. I always thought that was crazy. Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Just so you know, UMass was 0-12 last season.
- 47:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Had the longest losing streak in the FBS with 16 games.
- 47:33Speaker 1: was their first win versus current power conference school since 1978.
- 47:41Speaker 1: That's insane. Those are stats that my good friend across
- 47:46Speaker 1: from me would know. He's shaking his head right now.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Michael Bennett has stats. Corey Price, it's not Tuesday, but
- 47:52Speaker 1: it's Friday. It's good to have you. Hold tight, Corey.
- 47:58Speaker 1: All right, carry on. All right, you're back.
- 48:12Speaker 6: It's great to be here. Is this my first time
- 48:15Speaker 6: ever being here on a Friday?
- 48:16Speaker 1: I believe so. Oh, I know. I think you're right.
- 48:19Speaker 6: I can't think of one off the top of my head,
- 48:20Speaker 6: but this is nice. Yeah, I kind of like this.
- 48:23Speaker 6: Starting off the weekend on a high note, you know.
- 48:26Speaker 1: He's full of compliments today, Justin.
- 48:29Speaker 6: I mean, it's a high note because you have me
- 48:30Speaker 6: on your show. That's why it's a high note. Oh,
- 48:33Speaker 6: there we go. He told me I looked tan?
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you looked tan. And I've been in the sun
- 48:38Speaker 1: the past week and a half, and he didn't say
- 48:40Speaker 1: anything about mine. I'm still pale, so it's fine. It's
- 48:43Speaker 1: all good. Well, I will say we were all, you know,
- 48:47Speaker 1: you were in our thoughts and prayers yesterday. Oh, yes.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I just want you to know, and I hope for
- 48:52Speaker 1: everyone to know, Corey was down and out yesterday, and
- 48:56Speaker 1: I hope you're recovering well.
- 48:59Speaker 6: It was a weird day.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:01Speaker 6: I was putting on my shirt for work... And the
- 49:03Speaker 6: top button... The top button... Just popped off... And I was...
- 49:10Speaker 6: I was running late... I didn't want to get in...
- 49:13Speaker 6: Some of their shirts... So I was like.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Corey, spin zone for you. Since it's the start of
- 49:18Speaker 3: college football tomorrow for UK, that was just a precursor
- 49:22Speaker 3: to Will's offense popping off.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Oh. Oh.
- 49:26Speaker 6: But if you want to get technical, of all the
- 49:28Speaker 6: buttons I had on my shirt, I did button them all.
- 49:30Speaker 1: You did button them all. Good.
- 49:32Speaker 6: Technically, it's kind of sort of the same thing.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Okay. Wow.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Wow.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Listen, I just love the fact that you thought of
- 49:39Speaker 1: me adjusting. You took a picture of yourself first time
- 49:42Speaker 1: in who knows how many years of your entire life
- 49:45Speaker 1: that you didn't button your top button. I thought that
- 49:48Speaker 1: was funny. So I really considered doing a wellness check
- 49:52Speaker 1: for you. Can either of you all sew a button on?
- 49:55Speaker 1: I can. You can? Yeah. Can you? Of course not.
- 49:59Speaker 1: It's not hard. All you got to do is just
- 50:01Speaker 1: loop it through the four holes.
- 50:03Speaker 6: Well, I might give you my shirt and button.
- 50:05Speaker 1: That's going to cost you, Corey Price. What's the cost?
- 50:10Speaker 1: We can discuss all that. Okay. I don't know. You know,
- 50:13Speaker 1: it's funny. I wouldn't know where to go with just
- 50:16Speaker 1: a single button. Are they going to charge you like
- 50:18Speaker 1: $ 10 to put on? It's like, come on, man. That's
- 50:20Speaker 1: less than me. Really? You're going to charge more?
- 50:24Speaker 4: $ 14.
- 50:24Speaker 2: 99.
- 50:24Speaker 1: You're going to charge Corey Price $ 14. 99. Yeah. It's a
- 50:29Speaker 1: good deal. One of the best deals in the business. Wow. And,
- 50:33Speaker 1: you know, he brought you gifts on his birthday. Oh, yeah,
- 50:35Speaker 1: that's true. That's true. Man. Sorry. Okay, whatever. We can
- 50:39Speaker 1: work out a plan. How was the sissy cake, by
- 50:41Speaker 1: the way? Did you enjoy it? Of course.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Did you share it with anyone else on your birthday?
- 50:47Speaker 6: My brother, who's also his birthday, is the exact same day.
- 50:50Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 50:51Speaker 6: Your brother's birthday is the same day. I believe we
- 50:54Speaker 6: mentioned this when I was on the show.
- 50:56Speaker 1: I forgot that. Your two sons, same birthday. It's my anniversary. Amazing. Yeah. Well, congratulations.
- 51:02Speaker 1: How old is your brother? He's two years younger? One
- 51:04Speaker 1: year older. One year older. I am the youngest. They
- 51:07Speaker 1: saved the best for last. Same. Very much so in
- 51:10Speaker 1: my family as well.
- 51:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Although my dad said, no, the craziest for last. So anyway.
- 51:16Speaker 1: All right. I'm not that crazy. Today's not Tuesday, but
- 51:18Speaker 1: what happened this week? And I'm assuming we're getting into
- 51:22Speaker 1: sports now again. Am I fair to say that in
- 51:26Speaker 1: a little pop culture?
- 51:27Speaker 6: I've got one pop culture and one football game for
- 51:29Speaker 6: each day this week.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Whoa, nice! So we have a lot of sports. Jam-packed.
- 51:34Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to it. Let's hear it.
- 51:36Speaker 6: This week is August 30th through September 5th. Starting off
- 51:40Speaker 6: August 30th, 1993. The late night talk show, The Late Show,
- 51:44Speaker 6: airs its first episode on CBS. We all ever Late
- 51:47Speaker 6: Show fans?
- 51:49Speaker 1: Not really. Who was on The Late Show? David.
- 51:52Speaker 6: Letterman and then Stephen Colbert.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I like Letterman. Okay. No, I love David Letterman. I
- 51:58Speaker 1: did not watch a bit of Stephen Colbert. Colbert. Colbert.
- 52:03Speaker 6: The show aired a total of 6,015 episodes over 33 years.
- 52:08Speaker 6: Final episode was on May 21st, 2026.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Yeah, just a couple of months ago.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:13Speaker 1: No, David Letterman was really fun to watch until he
- 52:16Speaker 1: got way too political and I stopped watching. Yeah. I
- 52:19Speaker 1: hate that. I mean, and then Stephen Colbert was just
- 52:22Speaker 1: way too political. Colbert.
- 52:23Speaker 6: The show won the Primetime Emmy for Best Variety Talk
- 52:27Speaker 6: Series seven times.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 52:30Speaker 6: All under David Letterman, I'm assuming. Six under him, once
- 52:34Speaker 6: under Stephen Colbert.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Colbert.
- 52:37Speaker 2: Colbert.
- 52:38Speaker 6: August 30th, 1997.
- 52:40Speaker 1: It's a big day. I think, at least.
- 52:42Speaker 4: U.K.
- 52:43Speaker 6: Football defeats Louisville 38-24 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 52:47Speaker 1: This is the U.K.
- 52:47Speaker 6: 's first win against Louisville since September 3, 1994. This
- 52:52Speaker 6: is the big first, first game of the Hal Mumley era,
- 52:56Speaker 6: and I think the most important, first game for Tom
- 52:58Speaker 6: Leach as the voice.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Of the Wildcats. Oh, really?
- 53:01Speaker 6: Yes.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah, what a difference that was. I mean, and
- 53:05Speaker 1: I'm not trying to take away from other announcers, but yeah.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Tom's a go. Tom's a great one.
- 53:12Speaker 6: Running back Anthony White led the Wildcats with 183 yards
- 53:15Speaker 6: from scrimmage, 94 rushing, 89 receiving.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Anthony White. I don't know if I remember him. Is
- 53:22Speaker 1: he still around? He's still around. I'm just kidding, Anthony.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I love you, Anthony. I'm glad you do. Yeah.
- 53:29Speaker 6: August 31, 2007, the horror film Halloween.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Is released in theaters. Best one ever. Yes, it was. Oh, no. Really?
- 53:39Speaker 1: It's not. Not the original Halloween? This is 07.
- 53:43Speaker 6: Oh, I'm sorry. This is the Rob Zombie version.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Yeah, no. The original came out in 78. Yeah, I
- 53:50Speaker 1: was going to say the original is the best one. Oh,
- 53:51Speaker 1: the original. I mean, come on.
- 53:53Speaker 6: Directed by Rob Zombie, like I just mentioned. Starring Brad Dourif,
- 53:57Speaker 6: William Forsythe, Daniel Harris, Tyler Maine, Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor Compton,
- 54:04Speaker 6: and Sherry Moon Zombie. It's quite... Oh, never heard of
- 54:08Speaker 6: any of them. Malcolm McDowell?
- 54:11Speaker 1: Never heard of him? Who's he?
- 54:15Speaker 6: Boy, you know, I know his face, but besides the
- 54:19Speaker 6: Halloween films, I can't really pinpoint some he's been in,
- 54:22Speaker 6: but he's been in lots of stuff.
- 54:25Speaker 1: Oh, I know him. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 6: I recognize that guy. Film grossed approximately $ 58. 3 million domestically,
- 54:33Speaker 6: making it the 43rd highest grossing film of 2007. And
- 54:38Speaker 6: the thumb won the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for
- 54:43Speaker 6: Best Film of 2007.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Wow, I didn't know Rajon was doing that kind of stuff.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Good for him. He's kind of everywhere since he's retired.
- 54:48Speaker 1: He's the jack of all trades. Yeah, he is. August 31st, 2008.
- 54:53Speaker 6: UK football defeats Louisville 27-2 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
- 54:57Speaker 6: I wish Matthew was here still for all this.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Hate is coming in town today the sad part about
- 55:04Speaker 1: he was supposed to be here today really yeah so
- 55:08Speaker 1: so yeah we gotta take he asked if he could
- 55:10Speaker 1: come on i'm like absolutely come on you you're coming
- 55:13Speaker 1: on with us and then The prices for flights to
- 55:17Speaker 1: fly in yesterday were way too expensive, so we flew
- 55:19Speaker 1: in today. Yeah, I'm very disappointed in Matthew. You couldn't
- 55:22Speaker 1: pay for a flight? Oh, so I needed to pay
- 55:25Speaker 1: for him.
- 55:25Speaker 2: No.
- 55:26Speaker 1: That would have been a nice thing to do. It
- 55:29Speaker 1: would have been nice. What if we all three chipped in, okay?
- 55:33Speaker 1: That would have been the even nicer thing to do.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Here's my quarter. Okay, fine.
- 55:37Speaker 6: Call someone who cares. This was UK's first win against
- 55:40Speaker 6: Louisville in Louisville since September 1, 2002. UK forced Louisville
- 55:45Speaker 6: into five turnovers, three interceptions, and two fumbles. And two
- 55:50Speaker 6: of UK's three touchdowns were on defense. 28-yard fumble return
- 55:53Speaker 6: by Ashton Cobb and the memorable 72-yard fumble return by
- 55:57Speaker 6: Myron Pryor.
- 55:58Speaker 4: Ooh. Yeah.
- 56:00Speaker 6: September 1st, 1954. Michael was around to watch it then.
- 56:06Speaker 6: The mystery thriller film Rear Window is... Oh, great movie.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Yes. You like Hitchcock films? Not necessarily. I like the
- 56:16Speaker 1: guy that starred in the movie, though. I won't say,
- 56:21Speaker 1: because I'll leave it to you. Starring Raymond Burr, Wendell Corey, great,
- 56:25Speaker 1: great last name, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, and James Stewart.
- 56:28Speaker 1: The film grossed approximately $ 5. 3 million domestically, making it the
- 56:33Speaker 1: eighth highest grossing film of 1954. In 2007, the American
- 56:38Speaker 1: Film Institute ranked the movie number 48 on its list
- 56:41Speaker 1: of the 100 best films in American cinema history. Yeah,
- 56:44Speaker 1: I might go watch that now. That really is, because
- 56:47Speaker 1: Raymond Burr was famous for a TV show he had.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Ironside was the name of it. And then he also
- 56:56Speaker 1: had the Perry Mason show. And so he played a
- 57:01Speaker 1: villain in this movie. It was a great movie, by
- 57:05Speaker 1: the way. If you want to go see old Jimmy
- 57:07Speaker 1: Stewart movies, that's a really good one. Hard to top
- 57:10Speaker 1: James Stewart. Yeah, Jimmy Stewart.
- 57:12Speaker 6: September 1st, 1990, UK football defeats Central Michigan 20-17 at
- 57:18Speaker 6: Commonwealth Stadium.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 57:22Speaker 6: This is UK's third win in the last eight seasons
- 57:24Speaker 6: against Central Michigan. This is the first game of the
- 57:27Speaker 6: Bill Curry era at UK, which lasted seven seasons.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:32Speaker 6: Kicker Doug Puffery made the game-winning 32-yard field goal with
- 57:36Speaker 6: 12-23 left in the fourth quarter.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:38Speaker 1: There was a documentary that was out. It was, you know,
- 57:41Speaker 1: the SEC. Everybody watches that one on the SEC about football.
- 57:45Speaker 1: And they were interviewing Bill Curry during his Alabama days. Wow. Yeah.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I feel bad for him. I know a lot of
- 57:54Speaker 1: people out there are going to send the hate in,
- 57:56Speaker 1: but I was a Bill Curry fan. The key part
- 58:01Speaker 1: is he needed to succeed, and he just didn't.
- 58:03Speaker 6: He got us to the Peach Bowl.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he did.
- 58:06Speaker 6: Yeah, that was the– One good year out of seven.
- 58:09Speaker 6: Was that the Marty Moore Peach Bowl against Clemson?
- 58:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Marty hates it when people bring that up. I know.
- 58:16Speaker 1: You literally just did. I know. Sorry, Marty. Marty will
- 58:18Speaker 1: come over here and beat the crap out of it.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Marty's a good friend. I mean, I like Marty Moore.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Name drop. September 2nd, 2017. Corey Price. There's an even
- 58:27Speaker 1: bigger name drop right there.
- 58:29Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 58:30Speaker 2: U.K.
- 58:30Speaker 6: Football defeats Southern Miss 24-17 in Hattiesburg.
- 58:32Speaker 1: That's it? That's it. 24-17? Yeah. That was my first
- 58:40Speaker 1: game as a media member.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Wow.
- 58:42Speaker 1: My very first one down in Hattiesburg. I went to
- 58:45Speaker 1: that game. Nine years. Exactly.
- 58:47Speaker 6: It's been a fun nine years, I'm sure.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Yeah. It's been a fun ride. Hey, I'm done. Thanks, guys.
- 58:51Speaker 6: This is UK's first win against Southern Miss since October 4th, 1986.
- 58:57Speaker 6: UK held Southern Miss to just 1.4 yards per carry.
- 58:59Speaker 6: 55 yards on 38 carries.
- 59:00Speaker 1: And....
- 59:04Speaker 6: Denzel Ware had the game-winning touchdown and a 20-yard fumble
- 59:07Speaker 6: return with 49 seconds left in the third quarter.
- 59:10Speaker 3: You are saying southern miss right yeah southern miss down
- 59:12Speaker 3: in hattiesburg mississippi why is why is that a big
- 59:15Speaker 3: one we couldn't find a big one i.
- 59:20Speaker 6: Did lots of games last last year i'm trying to
- 59:23Speaker 6: spread the wealth you.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Know He's running out of topics. That's why. Corey, I
- 59:29Speaker 1: trust you and your judgment. I'm just saying, throwing a
- 59:31Speaker 1: Southern Miss game on there, maybe not your best decision. Wow.
- 59:38Speaker 3: That doesn't impress anybody.
- 59:42Speaker 6: Giving you my shirt to fix my top bun is
- 59:44Speaker 6: not the best decision as well.
- 59:46Speaker 1: I'd argue that's kind of embarrassing. Wow.
- 59:51Speaker 6: Man, he is throwing shade at you. How are you
- 59:54Speaker 6: going to respond to this? I spend some of my
- 59:56Speaker 6: free time doing research for this. I come on your show,
- 59:59Speaker 6: and you poop on me.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: It's not my show, for what it's worth. Well, it's
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: half your show. Yeah, exactly. It's half your show, Justin. Yeah.
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: So, you'll probably love this one, then. September 2nd, 2024,
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: the competitive eating special, Chestnut vs. Kobayashi Unfinished Beef, airs
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: on Netflix.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Love that. Chestnut probably smoked. But it looks... Yeah!
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I got to go look this one up.
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: The special took place at the Luxor Las Vegas Casino Hotel.
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: There were three events. The first main event, Matt Stoney,
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: he ate chicken wings for three minutes. Guess how many
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: chicken wings Matt Stoney ate in three minutes.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Matt Stoney has a mohawk. Was he stoned, by the way? Again,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: he has a mohawk. Okay, that tells me everything I
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: need to know. Matt Stoney... I bet... Go ahead, Justin.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: Chicken wings in three minutes. Guess how many?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: 90. Hold on. Hold on. Don't say. Almost. Really? Is
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: it really? Three minutes? Okay. You just gave it away.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I'm going to say 54. Oh, Michael Bennett, 53. Oh, really?
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: That's pretty good. Yeah. Okay. I almost said 6'7.
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: Or 6'9. In the main event... Joey Chestnut went up
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: against Takeru Kobayashi. They had to eat hot dogs in
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: 10 minutes. Guess how many hot dogs Joey Chestnut ate
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: in 10 minutes.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. 10 minutes. That's disgusting. The one in
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: the middle of the summer is 10 minutes, too, right? Correct.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I would have had 72. I'm going to say 84.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: That'd be a record. Michael Bennett, 83.
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: I mean, come on.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Wow! Are you kidding me? Who? Wow! Who is this guy? Yes!
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: So that's the record, then.
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: That is a world record, yes. Adrian Hot Dog's 10 Minutes, I.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Could you imagine? No, I cannot. I don't eat 83
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: hot dogs in 10 years. That's like one every, what,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: seven seconds-ish? Yeah, and when they start dipping it in
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: the water and all that kind.
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: Of stuff, that's disgusting. Well, that's the thing. The 4th
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: of July one, they can. The special they did, you
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: couldn't dip it in the water, and you had to
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: have the hot dog in the buns. The 4th of July,
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: you eat the hot dog and buns separate.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Right. Interesting. Okay. Yeah, because I'd like to know if
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: he really eats hot dogs when he's not doing a
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: hot dog podcast.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Hell no.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't think so? I would hope not. Yeah. Well,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe he really enjoys a good hot dog.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I mean, what is your... Corey, Justin, I'll ask both
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: of you. What is y'all's favorite food? Mmm. Biscuits and
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: gravy for me.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: Um.
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: Probably any form of chicken. I mean, I probably prefer
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: grilled chicken. Okay, so grilled chicken.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: And biscuits and gravy. God, your answer is so much
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: more healthy, Corey. I'm trying to be healthy. See, we're trying.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I would be probably, I would eat crab. Okay, I
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: can mess with crab. Crab cakes and football. I can
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: mess with crab. That's what Maryland does. That's what Maryland does.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: That's right. I'm thinking, could I eat that in the
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: eating contest, and then a couple of days later, would
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I enjoy having crab again? Could y'all do the same?
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: If you were in an eating contest, you were eating
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: grilled chicken, and Justin, you were eating biscuits and gravy,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: and you were downing as much chicken and biscuits and
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: gravy as you could, could you eat it again? Yes.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I could. Really?
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: I love grilled chicken that much. Are you a big
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Joe's Crab Shack fan?
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: It's fine. I mean, my problem here in Louisville is
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: that you've got to go pay to park, and I
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: don't pay to park.
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: You don't have to pay to park at Joe's Crab Shack.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: You don't? No. In that parking lot underneath? Yeah, you do.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I've never paid. Really? So, cops.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Hear that, Jamie?
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: Come get me, cops.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Wow, yeah. Jamie, that's right. September 3rd, 1983.
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: Scooch will love this one.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: U.K.
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: Football defeats Central Michigan 31-14 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: That's a little more respectable.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: It's just the first ever meeting between the two schools.
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: What year was that?
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: 1983. I was a sophomore in high school. How do
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you like that?
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: I thought you were like 40 by then.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: This was the first ever meeting between the two schools
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: and Jerry Claiborne's first win.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Oh, Jerry Claiborne's first win. He was winless in his
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: first season. Wow. I like Jerry Claiborne. He was one
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: of my favorite coaches. Old-fashioned coach.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Absolutely. And he came from Maryland. That's right. Where they
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: do crap kicks in football. Exactly.
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: UK scored the final 24 points of the game after
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: trailing 14-7 in the second quarter. Lawrence Lee, his nickname
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: was Choo-Choo. I read that in the paper.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: Lawrence Choo-Choo Lee led the Wildcats with 77 rushing yards
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: and two touchdowns.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Choo-choo. C-H-O-O or C-H-E-W? C-H-O-O. Okay. Like a train, I guess. Yeah. Well,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I'm thinking choo-choo. You chew your food. But yeah. Hopefully
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: you chew your food. Yeah.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: Jerry Chestnut probably doesn't chew his food. September 3rd, 2008.
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: The action crime drama TV series Sons of Anarchy airs
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: its first episode. We're all big Sons of Anarchy fans.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Never watched the single episode. I didn't watch either, but
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I knew it was pretty big. Yeah.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: Created by Kurt Suter. It stars Mark Boone Jr., Kim Coates,
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: Tommy Flanagan, Charlie Hunnam, Johnny Lewis, Ron Perlman, Katie Seagal,
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: and Maggie Siff. The show aired a total of 92
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: episodes over seven seasons on FX. And Katie Seagal won
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: in 2011.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Oh, cool. She played Peggy Bundy. Oh, really? Married with
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: the children. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: I know Scooch will love this one. September 4th, 1972,
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: the game show The Price is Right aired its first
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: episode on TV.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: One dollar, Bob. Is that a strategy, by the way?
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Of course.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Oh, it is.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: The best strategy. You can't go over. Okay.
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: Created by Mark Goodson, Bob Stewart, and Bill Todman. The
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: show has aired a total of 10,071 episodes over 54
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: seasons on CBS.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: Of course, it was hosted by Bob Barker until... June 15th, 2007,
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: and it's been hosted by Drew Carey since then.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Wow, it's been 20 years since Bob Barker was on?
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: 19, but yeah.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Price is wrong, Bobby. Oh, yeah, that's a great line.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I loved his bit in that.
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: On the cable version, it's Price is Wrong, Bobby. Yeah.
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: On the real version, it's... We're on radio, Corey, so
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: I did the cable. Also, you mentioned that my friend
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: and I did Happy Gilmore Trivia last night, and we won.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: Did you really? Oh, thanks for the invite. That would
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: be fun. I would do that one. Turns out you
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: didn't need me, but thanks for the invite down the line.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: We never need you, Scoot. Sorry. You mean it was
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: just trivia on the movie Happy Gilmore? And Happy Gilmore 2.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Both of them. I'd have to watch that a couple
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: more times. I would have nailed it.
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: I've only seen the second one twice. I think I've
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: seen it once. I've seen the first one... 60 times, probably.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe a little bit more. Great stuff.
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: September 4th, 1993, UK football defeats Kent State 35-0 at
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: Cowan Stadium. I know scoots are loving these games. At
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: least that's a respectable school. UK's second shutout against Kent State,
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: first one since 1984. Total offense, UK 506.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Yards, Kent State 177 yards. Pretty dominant.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: Pookie Jones of the Wildcats with 311 yards of total offense.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: That's a blast from the pass.
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: 181 passing, 130 rushing, and four touchdowns, two passing, two rushing.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: Dual threat quarterback. We should list some of the greatest
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: nicknames in U.K. sports. What?
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: Lawrence Choo Choo Lee.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: I think that's a great one. Pookie, I think that's
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: a great one. Wallace Wawa Jones. Oh, Wawa Jones is
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: another one. You could go on and on.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: Corey, the goat price. I mean, just keep going. See,
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: I always like sweet pea.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Vincent Burns, yeah. Yes. Rest in peace.
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: September 5th, 1981. UK football defeats North Texas State 28-6
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: at Commonwealth Stadium. This is UK's first game played against
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: North Texas State since 1950. UK held North Texas State
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: to just 34 yards rushing on 32 attempts. 1.1 yards
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: per carry. And Greg Long stole the show that day.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: Three interceptions, a school record, playing a 91-yard pick six
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: in the fourth quarter.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: Last one, September 5, 2003, the comedy film Dickie Roberts,
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: former child star, is released in theaters.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Terrible, terrible show. Yeah, it wasn't great. It was horrible.
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: It was slim pickings for movies.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: It was great enough to make the list for Corey Price. Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: You were harsh on his list today. My goodness.
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: Never Talking Scoots ever again. Directed by Sam Weissman. It
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: stars Craig Bierko, John Levitz, Miriam McCormack, Alyssa Milano, Rob Reiner,
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: Doris Roberts, and David Spade.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: It's a great cast. I know.
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: The film grossed approximately $ 22. 7 million domestically, making it the
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: 103rd highest-grossing film of 2003. And a little fun trivia,
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: the company Wham-O sued Paramount Pictures because a slip-and-slide was
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: used in the film without their permission.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Oh, come on! Jeez.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: You can't use a slip and slide and not tell whatever.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: I mean, that's really good. Or you'll get stuck.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: So a movie that came out six years ago called
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: The Wrong Missy. Have y'all seen that one? Yes.
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: It came out on Netflix.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: I think I saw that one. It seems to be
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: catching a resurgence right now. Lots of people are referring
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: to it, putting clips of it up. It's a fun.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: I had to go watch it again. I don't know.
- 1:10:01Speaker 6: I can't think of the name of the main character.
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: Female character, but she's awesome in it.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Lauren Lapkus. Okay, yeah, yeah. Yeah. She's hilarious in that movie. And,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: of course, it's got the regulars in it. It's got
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Adam Sandler's wife is in it. Jackie? Is that her name? Yeah,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Jackie Sandler. And his daughters. Oh, really? The daughters are
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: in it?
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: Sonny and Sadie.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: See, I like Nick Swardson. That guy's really funny. And
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: then John Schneider is always in it. those movies as well. Uh, Rob, uh,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Rob Snyder, Josh Snyder, uh, owns, well, used to own.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Papa John's. Why isn't it just not her close enough? Well,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: you know, they're filming a grown, grown, grownups three. Yep.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Are we excited about that? Maybe if Kevin James is
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: not in it, I'll watch it. Oh, he's going to
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: be in. He's, he's not funny to me. If anything,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: he ruins the movie. Oh, well, yeah.
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: Kind of like Scooch ruined this whole, uh, Whoa!
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Corey, that was your fault for picking a win over
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Southern Miss.
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: Your fault for saying something.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: 24-7. Suck it, Skeets. Thank you. Finally said. I do
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: have to read you a text. Bill Curry tried to
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: run the option with Tim Couch. Dumb, dumb, dumb. That
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Peach Bowl team was fun with Dean Wells and Marty
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Moore and Pookie Jones.
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: 96 was a rough year to watch, but I think
- 1:11:29Speaker 6: they say he was He was going to be fired
- 1:11:32Speaker 6: during the year, and they riled around him, and they
- 1:11:35Speaker 6: won their last three games in the SEC.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they did. I can still hear my brother-in-law yelling,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: is that what it took to get the players motivated?
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: And it sure seemed that way.
- 1:11:45Speaker 6: Went from, I think, 1-7 to 4-7, I think.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Yeah. But didn't they beat Tennessee that year, too, down
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: in Knoxville?
- 1:11:53Speaker 6: No, in 96 they got crushed. 95 was a close
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: game in Lexington.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: They lost by, like, four or five.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Yeah. But I, I did. I know it's not a
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: popular opinion. I liked Bill Curry. Let me say it
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: this way. I liked Bill Curry as a, a person.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: He's a great human being, but you know, who was
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator? It was Elliot. Use a lot. Use
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: a lot. That's it. Elliot. Use a lot. And he
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: wanted to use it.
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: It was a, it was a, it was a, it
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: was a user. Lack of passing is what it was.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Oh, boy. Low blow right there. All right. One more time.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: You want to give it to Justin?
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: No. Okay.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Once is enough today. I'll be nice. Not deserving. I
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: got it twice.
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: Unlike him, I'll be nice.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Be nice. I'm just saying. Win's not impressive. You're not impressive.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: They're wins. It doesn't matter. They're wins. We need the wins.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: They don't take pictures of them.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: Rich Brooks in 2006, I think after he beat Ole Miss,
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: a win is a win is a win.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Thank you. And I like that response. Rich Brooks is smart. Yeah.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: And a good person on top of that. Scooch is not.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: All right, then. Are you excited about tomorrow? I am.
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: My fifth season with Tom and Jeff. I say it
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: all the time, but I still can't believe I'm doing it,
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: so I'm very excited.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Who do you enjoy more, Tom or Jeff? Ooh. Got
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: to pick. I mean, you're on the wall. We're throwing
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: you down.
- 1:13:15Speaker 6: It's like picking between my two kids.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Nope. We need to know which one you like more. Uh,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: I mean, Tom. Oh my gosh. He threw Jeff under
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: the bus. Wait till we tell him. Wow. Get Pecoro
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: on the phone right now. You made me pick one.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Corey does not like Jeff Pecoro. I can't believe it.
- 1:13:36Speaker 6: And then if I picked Jeff, you would have said
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: I thrown Tom under the bus.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Of course I would have. I mean, it's a lose-lose.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: That's the best part. That's why you shouldn't have picked, Corey.
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: That's why you shouldn't have asked, I guess.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: No, no, I'm asking. We are right there for you. Now,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: prediction for tomorrow. What do you think is going to happen?
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: How is this season going to turn out for Will Stein? So,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I mean, it's hard to predict. There's so many questions.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: I mean, obviously, everything. New coach, new system, new QB.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: New players, new everything. Yeah. I mean, it's hard.
- 1:14:09Speaker 6: But I think, like, I kind of think of this
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: as the 97 year, a house first year. I think
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: they'll be fun to watch, but the results probably won't
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: add up. I'll go, we'll finish season five and seven,
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: finish just short of the bowl game. And tomorrow I'll
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: say 42-17.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: 42-17. All right, so the five wins are going to
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: be against who?
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: Youngstown State, South Alabama. Let's go Vandy at home. Vandy's
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: at home, right?
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Yes. Vandy at home. Two more. Missouri. Missouri. and South Carolina. Wow, really? Yeah.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: So that'll be, if UK loses, I mean, beats South Carolina,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: I predict that'll be Shane Beamer's last game. That'll be
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: kind of the, we're done with Shane Beamer.
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: I mean, is he on the hot seat? He's on
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: the warm seat, yeah. A lot of people are saying it, yeah, definitely.
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: I mean, I wouldn't mind forcing him out.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. I'm not a big fan of it. You
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: like being the responsibility or the reason behind somebody losing
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: their job and their livelihood. Yeah. That's kind of cruel. Absolutely.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: I'm learning all kinds of things about Corey today, Justin.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: I wish I could get scoots fired. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Did you hear that?
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Justin, you have a response to that? I don't. Okay.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I'm pretty well done with this segment. Corey, it's been
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: nice having you. It's been a blast. I appreciate you
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: coming in on a special Friday. I guess I'll do
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: this again in, what, four days? Exactly. You'll be right
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: back in here. That's right. We'll be back on Tuesday.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: And you'll be back in here.
- 1:15:55Speaker 6: Probably the shortest time span between two segments.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: I like that. I like that. All right, then. Corey Price,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: good having you, my friend. Always a pleasure. We've got
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: to take a break. Stay right there. More Just the
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Cats coming right up.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: It could crush this town and I can't hold out forever.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Even walls fall down.
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: Crawl, crawl the stream. Crawl.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: I got a whole lot of money.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Y'all ain't fun me.
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: Bottle key, pop in that water bag.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: It's a party, it's a party, it's a party.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: It's a party, it's a party, it's a party. My
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: hood up on the floor.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: So you think they're going to still play this come
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: third quarter? They need to. You think so? This is
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: one they should not get rid of.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: All right. Breaking news, as I've kind of played with
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: all morning long. In case you haven't seen it, Milan
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Momchilovic suffered a fractured index finger, will be out three
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: to six weeks. No big deal. I don't think so either.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: And they're trying to make it a bigger deal than
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: it really is. I just, I don't think it's a
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: big deal. The basketball season starts in 58 days. Last
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I checked, three or six weeks is both less than
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: 58 days. Exactly. So he's going to lose out on, wow.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: So there you go. How much practice time does a
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: dude like that even need? Well, listen, you get out
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: of sync a little bit. I mean, we don't want
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: him to be complete, as I like to say, out
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: of stink. I mean, hard to get out of sync
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: if all you're doing is running around the perimeter. Yeah.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: But, I mean, you still want to shoot a lot.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: And I'm sure that's what he'd like to do. But
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: that's the only part that just– it's just like the
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: injury bug has plagued Mark Pope since he's been at UK.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: And it's always been the point guard. Well, at least
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: now it's preseason, not in season. Yeah. I mean, but
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: the good news is a lot of people are talking
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: about Cam Williams not wearing a boot. in his latest workout.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: So that was the other positive. I mean, look at that.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Cam Williams is back. So hopefully that works out well.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: So listen, I don't understand what has happened because I,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I remember the time, uh, uh, uh, coach Brooks was
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: rich Brooks was going through the same issues when he
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: first became a football coach at UK. And there was
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: an injury that went down. It was clearly season, very
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: serious injury. And I can, vividly remember Rich Brooks looking
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: straight up into the sky there in the middle of
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: the football field at Commonwealth Stadium and just putting his
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: fist up. And it's like, I knew he was frustrated.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I got to feel the same thing with Mark Pope.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: He's like, what can go wrong? I mean, what am
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: I doing wrong? You almost feel like there is a
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: real thing called jinx. Has he been going to church?
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: I would say yes. But still, there are those things.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I mean, do you believe in the part where things
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: happen in threes? Do you believe that? Because there's times
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I've had that issue. Not particularly, no. Really? Okay. I do. Well,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: then that means you've got another injury coming. Yeah, I know.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: That's what worries me. So, hopefully, that's not the case.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about LSU. Uh... Rather not. Really? Okay. Well,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: let's not talk about LSU then. Can we just agree
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: that they're dweebs and trying to circumvent rules? Yeah, but.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Of course, they got that judge that said they're not
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: breaking the rules. So who do you believe? Do you
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: believe the NCAA SEC? Or do you believe the judge?
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: And of course, it's a judge in Louisiana. If I'm
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, I'm not taking the chance and playing those guys.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: I mean, did you think that judge was going to
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: rule against LSU? Can you imagine being a politician and
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: ruling against the state school? Right. You wouldn't be elected again, right?
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: No.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: So of course he or she is going to rule
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: for them. Now, do you think that LSU is going,
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: if they do play the players, which my argument is
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: they're all professional players. It doesn't matter that they played
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: in the NFL, NBA, MLB or not. They're all being played, Justin.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: I think this is just the man. I think it's
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: so silly. So I don't care that they play in
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: the NFL. You think LSU has an advantage because they
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: had a player that was up in the NFL? Do
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: you really, these players that they brought back to LSU,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: do you think they have a distinct advantage over any
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: other team in the Southeastern Conference? I don't personally.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: I mean, those two players, it's probably not as big
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: as I would like to think, but yeah, they have
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: an advantage. I mean, they were around NFL players all summer.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: They were getting to use NFL facilities. They obviously probably
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: got adjusted to the speed of the NFL. So coming
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: back to college, it's going to be like playing a
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: slower pace. I do think there are some advantages, yes.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Do you really? Okay. I just don't. I mean, you've
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: got professional players that come back to college and use
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: college facilities. Just because a player goes to the NFL
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: and uses their facility, I just don't see that as
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: an advantage. They're all being paid. They're all being paid
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: in college and professional sports. College is professional sports now.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: I don't see the big deal. I really don't. And
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: the fact that Greg Sankey continues to go after– LSU,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: UK for that fact, all these schools. I don't think
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: he's gone after UK. Well, but yeah, I get it.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: But in a backwards way, they kind of did. But
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: he's definitely gone after LSU, and I'm here for that. Yeah.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Did you like that the athletic director at Clemson threatened
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: to boycott the game this weekend? And that's who they're playing,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: you know. If they did play him, of course, they
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: backed down on that. Do you think they should have
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: boycotted him? No, but I'll tell you right now, I'm
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: the biggest Clemson fan in the world tomorrow night. Oh,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: come on. I am. No, not me. I hope they
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: kill him. Yeah, it's not going to happen. Yeah. One
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: person texted, I hear Youngstown has Goliath and Andrew the
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Giant on the offensive line as well. They do have
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: some big boys. Michael, what's your favorite moment of Zen
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: on YouTube TV? Oh, it's got to be the otters.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: Has to be the otters. Really? I do like the otters.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: But when they show those mountains with the purple flowers,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: it's like, oh, I do love that one. That's a
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: great question, by the way. Because I cannot get to
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: the remote fast enough when they say you can opt
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: out of the commercials. I do love those moments of zen.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: they're good yeah yeah yeah so all right you're the
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: otter guy i get it i mean i get it
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: everybody who doesn't love an otter exactly until they start
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: chasing you in the water they're mean are they really
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: yeah um one person texted in uh how was the
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: land of publics is uh mr bennett what i don't
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: get this florida Oh, okay. Since scoots was not able
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: to answer. Can you tell me your favorite sea shanty songs?
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: A pirate looks at 40. How's that? Okay. There there's a,
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: there's a pirate song right there. Uh, but yeah, uh, the,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: the land of publics is, was a lot of fun.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: What a weird way to ask me that question. And
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: by the way, it's awesome. I love the way you
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: asked that. Um, Wisconsin guy said politics has taken over
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: the show. Oh, just for a few seconds. It was fine.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: I love that. That made me laugh. He also said,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: let me get, did he say all this? Piggly Wiggly
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Field would be a cool corporate name. No. Is Piggly
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: Wiggly still around? I think so. There used to be one,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: I think, up in Crestwood years ago was a Piggly Wiggly.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: Weren't they– I think they were– weren't they started in
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: either Bowling Green or Memphis, Tennessee? I know that's a variation,
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: but– Yeah, they have 490 locations. They still have them? Really?
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: I thought it was called You've Got Jailed. What? No.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: He's in singles. Was he really in singles? Talking about–
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: The guy over in Lexington, the actor we were just
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: talking about a little bit ago. Steve Zahn. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Steve Zahn. Trevor has an argument that Mitchell should have
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: put his name in a portal. It's not a good argument,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: but he's got one. Call him in the second hour.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: He wouldn't be awake yet. Oh, really? Well, you know,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: I messed up. He's offered to come on this show.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: Trevor?
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Yes. That's the guy that's on... No, you're talking about peak. Oh, okay. Okay,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: I'll get him. Who's Trevor? He's the other producer we have. Oh, Trevor. Okay.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: You know Trevor. Yeah, I know Trevor. Okay. So he
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: has another argument about it? Trevor does? But he hates UK. No,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: he's just saying that Mitchell should have put his name
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: in the portal. Oh, really? But there wasn't a portal,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: so he's saying it's not a good argument. Uh, one
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: per Josh said, welcome back, Michael. Hope you're having a
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: better week than Steve Belichick. Oh my. Has that been
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: a crazy story? And of course, if you haven't seen
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: it yet, uh, he's being investigated, uh, or North Carolina
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: is being investigated. Michael Lombardi quit. Yes. Their GM. Yes.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: I mean, this is getting weirder by the second. How
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: do you get investigated today when everything's pretty legal in
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: college sports? I don't really understand how you can get
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: in trouble now. Do you? I mean, not really. No. Yeah. So, yeah,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: it's getting really bad for Steve Belichick. Do you think
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: Bill Belichick survives all of this another season?
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: No.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: I kind of feel the same way. Depending on how
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: their season goes, but ultimately, no. Yeah, I'm right there
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: with you. 48 Hanley said, used to have one in Hodgenville,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: a Piggly Wiggly. I didn't know that. I haven't been
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: to Hodgenville in years, but anyway. All right, we got
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: to take our last break. Stay right there. We're going
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: to come out with our prediction as soon as we
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: get back and talk a little bit about the season. Plus,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I got some big news about me personally, which I'm
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: real excited about, too. Stay right there. One more segment,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: just to catch. I mean, is there a better fight
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: song in the country? No, there's not. Okay, fine. LSU
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: president just released a statement within the last few minutes.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: He said, LSU respects the judicial process and the court's decision.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Our responsibility is to support our programs while complying with
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: the law and the rules governing our conference. We will
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: carefully review the court's order and continue to work constructively
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: with the SEC and NCAA as this matter moves forward.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: College football does not deserve this kind of ambiguity in
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: eligibility standards. This is just another illustration that Congress needs
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: to pass a version of the Protected College Sports Act.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: Of course they like it because their players get to play. Exactly.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: Of course they like it because the judicial system ruled
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: in their favor. that's the main part. uh and so
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: what does that mean does that mean they're going to
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: play the players does that mean they're going to have
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: the players on their roster but not play them i
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: mean i don't know what any of that means i
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: really don't i hope they play Do you really?
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Cause I think that's going to be bad for them. God.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: And you're right about Will Wade. I mean, the basketball
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: program is in total disarray. Yeah. If all this goes through,
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: I bet Modi about day regrets his decision so much. Oh,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: he has to. Absolutely. All right. Tomorrow. There's a bunch
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: of games. There's a few tonight. Is that right? Yeah,
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: several tonight, yeah. And then you've got a whole bunch, obviously, tomorrow.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: I mean, the only kind of game that I see
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: today that's kind of cool, maybe the Miami-Stanford game. It's
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: a conference game. Yeah, it's a conference. That's the thing
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: about the ACC. They're playing conference games right off the bat.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: I kind of like that. Come on, Stanford. Oh, really?
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: You're rooting for Stanford? Oh, yeah. They don't have a chance, though,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: do they? No. Uh, you got LSU Clemson tomorrow night,
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: seven 30. You're rooting clearly for Clemson. I'm going to
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: root safe for conference. I'm going to say LSU. I
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: don't care. I really don't. Other than I'm just not
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: a fan of Dabo Sweeney. Um, Auburn's got Baylor tomorrow
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: night or tomorrow afternoon, three 30. Uh, seems like him
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: kind of okay. Game Boise state is at Oregon three
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: 30 tomorrow. East Carolina versus Alabama, another boring game at noon.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: And then you've got Tennessee playing Furman tomorrow at 3.30.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: A bunch of 3.30 games that I'd like to be watching.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: So it'll be one of those things where, you know,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: the YouTube thing where you can watch four different things
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: at one time. I love. And then, of course, Sunday,
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: you've got University of Louisville playing down in Nashville against
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Ole Miss at 7.30. How do you feel about this
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: game right here? I don't know how to feel about
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: this game. I don't either.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: I mean, Ole Miss has a bunch of new players,
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: new coaching staff, whereas Louisville brought back a majority of
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: their coaching staff and brought in a good transfer quarterback
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: in Keenholds, and they've still got, what's the running back's name?
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: Gosh dang it. It doesn't matter. Go on. Just went
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: out of my head. But he's going to be awesome.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: So I think Louisville wins this game. I really do.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Do you really?
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: Oh, my. That's a bold prediction. I'm high on the
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: cards this year. Wow. Well, when you don't have a
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: tough schedule, it's easy to be high on the cards.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: I mean, because they don't play Clemson. They don't play,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: who else? Miami. Do they even play Florida State? I mean,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: they play SMU. They do play Florida State. Okay, so.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: But it's a home game. Okay, so what? And they
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: play SMU. Which, again, I say so what? SMU's a
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: little better. SMU's going to have a good year. I
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: still think they have two losses by the end of
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: the season.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: I do, too.
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: Ten and two. You're Indiana Hoosiers. You're predicting what for them?
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: 11-1, back to the playoffs. They'll be in the semifinals.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: I think they make it to the championship game before
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: losing to Georgia.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: Who are they losing? You said 11-1. Who are they
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: losing to? I think they lose the game at Michigan. Oh,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: do you really? Because it comes the week after they
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: host Ohio State. Okay. All right, then. A bit of
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: big news for me. I have my first horse that's
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: going to start in her first race a week from today.
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: Love that. I'm so excited about this. Can't wait to gamble.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: At Churchill Downs. And her name is Cosmic Creed. I
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: bought her in conjunction with another syndicate called West Point Thoroughbreds.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: And Terry Finley, who started that, he was on the
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: show with us Derby Week. He was nice enough to
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: allow me to be a part of this. And this
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: is a horse that is by Jimmy Creed out of
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: Moon and Stars. I love the name Cosmic Creed. And
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: so kind of a little combination between two. But she's
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: a beautiful, big chestnut filly that just will love on
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: you constantly. So next Friday, I will be at Churchill
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: Downs watching my very horse, very first horse race in
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: the Scenic Hills stable. Yeah. Yeah. Cannot wait. I know.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: Me too. By the way, there's a race at Saratoga today.
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: Where there's a colt running with all fillies. You ever
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: seen that? No, I've never seen that. I've seen a
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: filly run with all colts. I didn't think they allowed that. Yeah.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: He's a colt running with all fillies. Really?
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I mean, I want to know what all
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: the lady fillies out there are saying. They're going to
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: start protesting. Who knows? You can't have men and women's sports. No,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: I'm not going to get started on that. But I
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: should get started on it and then leave the next
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: show in it. We simply don't have the time for that. Anyway,
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: it's been fun being back. I missed you, Justin. Same.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: It's always fun when I get back and get to
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: see you again. And Corey Price coming in today. We're
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: talking about a win on Tuesday. 31-10. So I was
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: going to get ready to ask you. Yeah, UK is
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: going to win 43-7. So there you go. We'll see
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: you Tuesday. Have a safe weekend, everybody, on this Labor
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: Day weekend. We'll see you Tuesday.
