SCOUT’S EYE: Why Did The Cowboys’ Defense Struggle vs. Detroit?
Bryan Broaddus and Voch Lombardi break down the film from the Cowboys’ matchup with the Lions, focusing on why the defense struggled. They noted that Eberflus needs to blitz more and better use the players who thrive in pressure situations. They also pointed out issues with gap integrity up front and a key play where the defense bit on play action, leaving the middle of the field wide open. They highlighted Quinnen Williams for pressuring Goff and noted that most of Dallas’ best defensive moments came in the first quarter and faded as the game went on.
