  Speaker 1: on this chapter eight, we're gonna dig. We're gonna start

  Speaker 1: off in verse twelve. This is where we left off yesterday.

  Speaker 1: Remember yesterday that we talked about freedom from sin and
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: dwelling in us. We talked about the law and how
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: the law cannot help us, the law cannot save us.
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: Trying to fulfill the law, you will fail, we will
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: fail miserably to reach the righteousness of God. And that
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: we learned that the righteousness of God is imputed unto us.
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: It's a gift. It's imputed unto us as righteousness, and
• 6:16
  Speaker 1: it is given to our account. It is a gift
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: through the Cross of Christ, and it gives us access
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: to the grace of God. The grace of God is
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: what gives us the power over sin. Sin shall not
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: reign over us, Sin shall not have dominion over us.
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: We are actually living a life of freedom. And so now,
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: because God has done all of this, Paul is teaching
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: us how to apply it in a practical way. How
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: are we supposed to live now since we have access
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: to the grace this has been given to us, how
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: are we supposed to live it out practically in our lives?

  Speaker 1: In chapter eight it is breaking it down life of

  Speaker 1: the spirit. The law is spiritual. We need to be
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: like the yield sign and traffic. We need to wake
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: up and say I yield to the spirit. Today. We

  Speaker 1: need to cry out or wreched man that I am
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: knowing that there's nothing we can do. We don't have
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: the power within ourselves to produce righteousness. So we have
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: to call out and depend aily on God, on Jesus Christ,
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: on the Holy Spirit to help us walk this out,
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: to help us to stay in the spirit. So thusfor
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: we should hate the life of the flesh, we should
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: hate sin. We should not tolerate sin around us. We
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: should separate ourselves from the presence of sin as much
• 7:53
  Speaker 1: as we can. Don't hang out with those old friends
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: and those things that used to trip us up, that
• 7:59
  Speaker 1: be set I need sin, and we need to purposely
• 8:03
  Speaker 1: walk closer to our God a man. I told you
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: this is a Mount Everest subscripture. This book breaks it
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: all down chapter eight. It's so good, so I wanted
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: to droll in it, break it down in a couple
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: of episodes. So this is episode two, all right. Verse
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: twelve says, therefore, Brotherwn, we are debtors not to the flesh,
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: and amen to that to live according to the flesh,
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: So we're no longer debtors. We don't owe the flesh nothing.

  Speaker 1: We don't owe the devil nothing. We don't owe this
• 8:46
  Speaker 1: world nothing. For if you live according to the flesh,

  Speaker 1: you will die. Now that's straight up. There's no wiggle

  Speaker 1: want to live according to your flesh, according to cardinal mind,

  Speaker 1: you're dead. Like there's no other option. There's no other choice.

  Speaker 1: the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body,

  Speaker 1: you will live. There we go, life and death. That's

  Speaker 1: the choice right there, and we choose it every day

  Speaker 1: on a daily basis. Do we choose life today? Just

  Speaker 1: think about it. If you choose the flesh, you're choosing death.

  Speaker 1: you're choosing life. Just let that burn in our conscience.

  Speaker 1: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,

  Speaker 1: these are the sons of God. For you did not

  Speaker 1: receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you

  Speaker 1: receive the spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out

  Speaker 1: Abba Father. The Spirit himself bears a witness with our

  Speaker 1: spirit that we are children of God. And if children
• 10:16
  Speaker 1: meant heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

  Speaker 1: If indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also

  Speaker 1: be glorified with Him. Amen. All right, little so let's

  Speaker 1: go back and let's break this down. Paul reminds us
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: that we're no longer debtors to the flash share.

  Speaker 1: Living in the flesh leads to death. But by the Spirit,

  Speaker 1: we modify the deeds of our body. Amen. We got

  Speaker 1: to remember that depth or life. What do we want now?

  Speaker 1: This means we don't owe the flesh anything. Like I mentioned.

  Speaker 1: When the flesh comes knocking trying to drag us back

  Speaker 1: into our old habits reminded paid in full by the

  Speaker 1: We need to speak to our flesh. Right. The power
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: is in our words. The power of life and death
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: is in the tongue. And we need to say to

  Speaker 1: the flesh paid in full by the blood of Jesus, Amen, hallelujah.

  Speaker 1: Now those led by the spirit are the sons of God.

  Speaker 1: Now the spirit within us Christ, I'm a father. Now

  Speaker 1: if children then were heirs, were joint heirs with Christ,

  Speaker 1: Abba Father. It's a term of endearment. It's like saying

  Speaker 1: daddy right when you're young, daddy. You know, when I

  Speaker 1: got older, I would call my dad pop papa. But

  Speaker 1: now this is the type of relationship we have. If
• 12:19
  Speaker 1: we're led by the spirit, we are the sons of
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: God and the spirit inside Christ Abba Father. This is
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: the relationship God desires. He doesn't desire the law, he
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: doesn't desire rules or regulations. He doesn't desire rituals and traditions.

  Speaker 1: This is it. This is the heart of our heavenly Father.

  Speaker 1: For us to call him Abba Abba father as dear children,
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: this is one of the most powerful promises in scripture.

  Speaker 1: We're not only saved, but we are adopted. Imagine being
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: a child with full inheritance rights. That's what the spirit
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: does for us. I know a lot of us we've
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: always imagined that we had a rich relative, right, or
• 13:21
  Speaker 1: we wanted our parents to be rich, and just getting
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: that call like hey, you know, here's your mention, here's
• 13:28
  Speaker 1: your Rose Royce or whatever. You know what I mean
• 13:32
  Speaker 1: here it is, here's your MAK account, Like you're just wow,

  Speaker 1: Well guess what In the spirit, that is exactly what happened.

  Speaker 1: We are now joint heirs. We are so rich that
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: means the richest of Christ. We now have access to
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: we have benefits, we have prestige, we have status and see, beloved,
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: this is why we have so many haters out there.

  Speaker 1: This is absolutely good news. But we have to understand

  Speaker 1: who we are, what we have, and what our position
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: because we're about to break it down in verse eight.

  Speaker 1: And I want you to keep in mind what I

  Speaker 1: just said. I just said that we're sons, were children
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: of God. For one by birth, because we've been born
• 14:32
  Speaker 1: again of the spirit, and number two by adoption. God
• 14:36
  Speaker 1: has adopted us. So now we have an inheritance. We're like,
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: we got some bling bling in the kingdom, right, this
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: is how we look and this is why Haytn sates hat,
• 14:49
  Speaker 1: says man. One of my words that this is why
• 14:52
  Speaker 1: Satan hates us so much, is because this is how
• 14:55
  Speaker 1: he looks. He is jealous of us. Right, that's why

  Speaker 1: some we irritate other people's demons, because of the spirit

  Speaker 1: that is inside of us. Now we're gonna break down
• 15:07
  Speaker 1: in verse eight, for I consider that the sufferings of
• 15:12
  Speaker 1: this present time are not worthy to be compared with
• 15:16
  Speaker 1: the glory which shall be revealed in us. Yeah, we're
• 15:21
  Speaker 1: gonna suffer because look at us. Now, if we learn
• 15:24
  Speaker 1: our true identity and learn who we really are, I
• 15:28
  Speaker 1: believe that we can endure suffering a little better. Hey man,

  Speaker 1: verse nineteen, for the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly
• 15:48
  Speaker 1: waits for the revealing of the sons of God. Now,
• 15:53
  Speaker 1: imagine that all creation that means the sun, the moon,
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: the stars, are Earth, the birds, the animals. And what
• 16:04
  Speaker 1: just flashed in my mind was that scene on Lion King. Right,
• 16:09
  Speaker 1: one of my favorite childhood movies. I used to watch
• 16:14
  Speaker 1: all my children Lion King. And at the beginning of
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: the movie, we have with Fossa and Pride Rock and
• 16:24
  Speaker 1: We'feki bringing Simba as they sit there and wait for
• 16:34
  Speaker 1: their son, their heir, to be presented to all of
• 16:38
  Speaker 1: the animals, and they all bow and give them reverence
• 16:44
  Speaker 1: and give them homage. That's what comes to mind when
• 16:49
  Speaker 1: I read it this, like God is waiting to present
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: us to all creation. You know, just be like that scene.
• 16:59
  Speaker 1: They will give homage and they will honor us as
• 17:03
  Speaker 1: the children of God. So go, your homework is go
• 17:08
  Speaker 1: watch lion king. Go at least watch that first scene
• 17:13
  Speaker 1: when it comes on. And I'm talking about the original

  Speaker 1: one where Simba is presented. Hey man, that's us. No.

  Speaker 1: Verse twenty four of the creation was subjected to futility,

  Speaker 1: not willingly, but because of him who has subjected it.

  Speaker 1: In hope, Now we know that speaking about Adam and

  Speaker 1: Adam fell, all creation suffers. See, our sin does not
• 17:50
  Speaker 1: just affect us. We think we're just hurting ourselves when

  Speaker 1: we sin, because we have a habit or some type
• 17:56
  Speaker 1: of addiction or whatever. It may be, some type of
• 18:00
  Speaker 1: secret sin. But no, your sin affects others. All creation
• 18:05
  Speaker 1: has been affected by the iniquity that's been released on
• 18:09
  Speaker 1: this earth. Now verse twenty one, because the creation itself
• 18:16
  Speaker 1: also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into
• 18:21
  Speaker 1: the glorious liberty of the children of God. Now listen,
• 18:27
  Speaker 1: the glorious liberty of the children of God. Like, look,
• 18:33
  Speaker 1: we have a prestigious, a prestigious position, a prestigious place
• 18:44
  Speaker 1: in all creation, like all creation is waiting for us
• 18:51
  Speaker 1: to be manifested. Like, let that really drop in your spirit. Amen,

  Speaker 1: Now let's break it down. Paul suffered much, but he

  Speaker 1: kept this perspective that he is a child of God.

  Speaker 1: Now the glory ahead will far outweigh the sufferings that

  Speaker 1: we face. Now, now Paul can say this after being beaten.

  Speaker 1: Paul was in jail. Paul has been rejected. Then what's

  Speaker 1: our excuse? Right? How come we can't endure when it

  Speaker 1: gets hard we want to give up, or we want

  Speaker 1: to be quiet. We don't want to be a witness

  Speaker 1: for Christ because people are gonna make fun of us, Right,

  Speaker 1: what's our excuse? Whether whatever trial we may be in,

  Speaker 1: just remember it's only temporary compared to eternity with Christ.

  Speaker 1: Whatever trial you may be facing, situation or circumstances only

  Speaker 1: temporary until we meet God face to face. Amen. And

  Speaker 1: in verse nineteen through twenty two, let's look at that again.

  Speaker 1: of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the

  Speaker 1: sons of God. For the creation was subject to futility,

  Speaker 1: not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope. Now,

  Speaker 1: will be delivered from bondage of corruption into the glorious

  Speaker 1: liberty of the children of God. For we know that

  Speaker 1: the whole creation groans in labors with birth pains together

  Speaker 1: until now, all right, let's park there for a second,

  Speaker 1: Creation itself is groaning under the curse. And as I mentioned,

  Speaker 1: it was Adam. The whole entire earth was cursed when
• 21:39
  Speaker 1: Adam disobeyed God. Now creation is waiting for the revealing
• 21:47
  Speaker 1: of the sons of God. That's us, beloved, you and me,
• 21:51
  Speaker 1: if we are believers in Christ, and if we are
• 21:54
  Speaker 1: walking in the spirit. Now when Adam said, and it
• 22:00
  Speaker 1: wasn't just humanity that fell, the whole earth was affected
• 22:11
  Speaker 1: by hurricanes and earthquakes, diseases, it's all creation groaning for redemption.

  Speaker 1: Just think, if Adam had never fail, we wouldn't know
• 22:26
  Speaker 1: what a hurricane is, an earthquake, or a disease. These

  Speaker 1: are like symptoms, and all creation is groaning for the
• 22:39
  Speaker 1: day of redemption. Amen, They're groaning for the day of
• 22:44
  Speaker 1: the sons of God to be revealed. Like that's I
• 22:48
  Speaker 1: mean that hits like that is like man, that's like
• 22:53
  Speaker 1: a prestigious place, like man. We can't imagine what God
• 22:59
  Speaker 1: is prepared for us if all creation is waiting for
• 23:04
  Speaker 1: us to be revealed. All right, we're gonna go to

  Speaker 1: twenty three and to twenty five. Let me find my

  Speaker 1: we also who have the first fruits of the spirit,

  Speaker 1: even we are selves grown within ourselves eagerly waiting for

  Speaker 1: the adoption the redemption of our bodies, for we were

  Speaker 1: saved in this hope. But hope that is seen is
• 23:46
  Speaker 1: not hope, for why does one still hope for what
• 23:50
  Speaker 1: is seen? But if we hope for what we do
• 23:55
  Speaker 1: not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience, And

  Speaker 1: I believe that's key having patience. Amen. All right, we'll

  Speaker 1: preparing a new body for us. These bodies are subject

  Speaker 1: to corruption. One day you're gonna leave these bodies. And

  Speaker 1: as I said before, if it wasn't for these bodies,

  Speaker 1: if it wasn't for the flesh, Satan would not have
• 26:47
  Speaker 1: nothing to work with. The only way Satan can have
• 26:52
  Speaker 1: power over us is if he brings us into agreement.

  Speaker 1: Because there's laws in the spiritual realm. He just force
