- 0:48Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's Word with notes, quotes,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and stories, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:03Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:06Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: From the King James version of the Bible, we read,
- 1:44Speaker 2: I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless I live yet not
- 1:50Speaker 2: I but Christ liveth in me and the life which
- 1:54Speaker 2: I now live in the flesh. I live by the
- 1:58Speaker 2: faith of the Son of God, who loved me and
- 2:02Speaker 2: gave himself for me from Galatians chapter two and verse twenty.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I would like to title this reflection wanted slave for
- 2:15Speaker 2: sacrificial service. You know, not too many of us would
- 2:19Speaker 2: be attracted to a career as a slave. Yet that's
- 2:24Speaker 2: exactly what God is raising us to be, sacrificial servants
- 2:30Speaker 2: motivated by the nature of God working within us. Sacrificial
- 2:36Speaker 2: love destroys our comfort zones because it requires we laid
- 2:41Speaker 2: down our demands that life be lived on our terms.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It's a radical ship from what we often do serving
- 2:51Speaker 2: others as long as our interests and preferences are protected,
- 2:57Speaker 2: as long as we get credit for what we have done.
- 3:02Speaker 2: In sacrificial relationships, someone pays the price so others can
- 3:08Speaker 2: freely receive. All we have from God is freely received,
- 3:14Speaker 2: paid for through the passionate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and
- 3:19Speaker 2: now we sacrificially give to others. Our objective in Jesus
- 3:27Speaker 2: is to count the cost of Godly love. But then,
- 3:32Speaker 2: regardless of how much sacrifice it requires, we pay the
- 3:36Speaker 2: price so others can experience. First ten, the sacrificial nature
- 3:43Speaker 2: of God's love. By God's grace, our witness becomes so
- 3:48Speaker 2: rare that the world takes notice of such sacrificial service.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Those of us who were once slaves in the bondage
- 3:58Speaker 2: of sin have become free to become slaves of righteousness.
- 4:04Speaker 2: As has been said many times, we are not our own.
- 4:08Speaker 2: We no longer have individual rights. This life is not
- 4:13Speaker 2: about us, but about the transforming power of Jesus Christ,
- 4:18Speaker 2: our Lord. It is to him we bow and surrender
- 4:24Speaker 2: our will. He demonstrated God's sacrificial love for us so
- 4:30Speaker 2: that we could live in sacrificial love with one another.
- 4:35Speaker 2: We are crucified with him, dead to our earthly temporal goals,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and alive as his willing bond servants. God's will is
- 4:49Speaker 2: the only purpose for us to live.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 4:57Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard K and hear this
- 5:00Speaker 1: message in its entirety again online as well as Richard's
- 5:04Speaker 1: entire archive at Talknetwork Radio dot com. We would like
- 5:08Speaker 1: to acknowledge our theme song, how Great is Thy Faithfulness
- 5:12Speaker 1: from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album, unless otherwise.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Express scriptures are read from the Holman Christian Standard Bible,
- 5:20Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Additional resources used for Reflections on the Word with Richard
- 5:28Speaker 1: KA include Great is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 5:32Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again here is Richard
- 5:36Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So much of life is trying to find our purpose.
- 5:44Speaker 2: The scripture states that he who finds his life shall
- 5:49Speaker 2: lose it, but he who loses his life for my
- 5:54Speaker 2: sake shall find it Luke nine twenty four. I am
- 6:01Speaker 2: crucified with Christ. Nevertheless I live yet not I, but
- 6:08Speaker 2: Christ liveth in me. And the life which I now
- 6:13Speaker 2: live in the flesh, I live by the faith of
- 6:16Speaker 2: the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself
- 6:22Speaker 2: for me. Relations to twenty and that is today's reflection
- 6:31Speaker 2: on the Word.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 6:36Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
- 6:39Speaker 1: Richard K. Or Richard and the entire team. This is
- 6:42Speaker 1: Chuck Christie saying thanks for listening to this edition of
