Fact-check: Matt Walsh’s “68 IQ Somali scammers” and the refugee-camp score behind it
On The Matt Walsh Show, Ep. 1714 (8 January 2026), Matt Walsh said Renee Good "gave her life in the commission of a crime to protect 68 IQ Somali scammers." Our verdict: false (truth score 0.02).
The Minnesota fraud prosecutions are real. The "68" traces to tests of refugee children in Kenyan camps and says nothing about Somali Americans.
Walsh's line aired the day after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Macklin Good in south Minneapolis. The episode never argues for the IQ figure. It shows up as an adjective in a sentence about her.
