- 0:39Speaker 2: That's right. I remember your son having so many things
- 0:43Speaker 2: when it came.
- 0:43Speaker 3: To like, well, he would never be able to go
- 0:45Speaker 3: to the dentist right for years because he's on the
- 0:48Speaker 3: autism spectrum has ADHD, and it took us years to
- 0:52Speaker 3: find a practice that kind of met him where he's
- 0:54Speaker 3: at and was patient with him. And so now it's
- 0:58Speaker 3: I never imagined this day coming. So yeah, he's a
- 1:03Speaker 3: champ's yeah stuff.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I'm glad you brought that up this morning because I
- 1:06Speaker 2: need to schedule that appointment full myself too, because yes,
- 1:09Speaker 2: you know every six months. There was something I remember
- 1:12Speaker 2: on the dentist's office as a kid. It said something
- 1:15Speaker 2: like go every time the moon changes, and I was like.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Well, insurance doesn't cover that. Insurance is very picky about
- 1:23Speaker 3: exactly six.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Insurance is picky about everything. I don't even want to
- 1:26Speaker 2: talk about insurance. No offense to the insurance industry, but
- 1:29Speaker 2: y'all got some issues.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Anyway, I'm feeling great today because it is Wednesday, and

- 1:42Speaker 2: we're halfway through the week, and then Friday gets here,
- 1:44Speaker 2: and it's all about the weekend. Whatever the weekend might
- 1:47Speaker 2: entail for you, even if that's you doing nothing, you know,
- 1:51Speaker 2: because that's you making a choice to spend time on you.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And so let today kind of be a warm up
- 1:58Speaker 2: for maybe what Friday will bring. And if you haven't

- 4:12Speaker 2: And that's the news with Toby and Chilly in the morning,
- 4:14Speaker 2: Top stories yours at the top of the hour and
- 4:17Speaker 2: in just minutes your morning mindset. Why because you might
- 4:20Speaker 2: need something that gives you a little extra umph as
- 4:23Speaker 2: you get into this Wednesday. Or maybe you need something
- 4:26Speaker 2: that will help you to share with a friends, something
- 4:29Speaker 2: that might just get them through whatever life is throwing
- 4:33Speaker 2: their way. Stay with us, we'll talk about it in
- 4:37Speaker 2: a minute ninety seven point one Please Washington's variety from
- 4:42Speaker 2: the eighties Ninetiesin today, you're waking up with Toby and
- 4:44Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning, and it's time now for your
- 4:46Speaker 2: morning mindset.
- 4:47Speaker 3: This is where we pause and share a quote to
- 4:50Speaker 3: get you into a good headspace for you to think
- 4:52Speaker 3: about the rest of the day.
- 4:53Speaker 2: God save the Queen from Queen Elizabeth the second she says,
- 4:57Speaker 2: above all, be true to yourself, and Elizabeth sid God
- 5:01Speaker 2: rests her soul. Above all, be true to yourself. Now,
- 5:06Speaker 2: what does it mean on a Wednesday morning to be
- 5:09Speaker 2: true to yourself? Above all? Be true to yourself? Well,
- 5:13Speaker 2: I think what the Queen's trying to remind us with
- 5:15Speaker 2: that statement is that authenticity is what it is that
- 5:20Speaker 2: builds the confidence that lasts longer than trying to please
- 5:24Speaker 2: everyone else. Be true to yourself today. That's where authenticity
- 5:30Speaker 2: even comes from. Authenticity is what it is that creates confidence,
- 5:34Speaker 2: and that lasts a lot longer than trying to please everyone.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Trust me, I'm like the diagnosed people pleaser over here.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It's part of my psychological profile. Doesn't work. Hopefully that
- 5:47Speaker 2: helps you today as you navigate whatever life brings your
- 5:51Speaker 2: way on a Wednesday. That is your morning mindset. You'll
- 5:54Speaker 2: find it the Toby and chillipage WATCHIFIM dot com and
- 5:57Speaker 2: on our socials. Feel free to check it out when
- 5:59Speaker 2: you get a chance and stay with us because in
- 6:01Speaker 2: just minutes.
- 6:02Speaker 3: You said you learned an important lesson about parking and
- 6:05Speaker 3: handicap spaces.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Very important lesson, and it's a lesson you don't realize
- 6:10Speaker 2: until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Let
- 6:15Speaker 2: me just tell you in a few Toby and Chilly
- 6:19Speaker 2: in the morning at eight sixty six nine two seven
- 6:21Speaker 2: forty three sixty one, it is ninety seven point one
- 6:24Speaker 2: wash Fmoh the lessons this life teaches you as you
- 6:28Speaker 2: enjoy the joy that comes with this journey.
- 6:32Speaker 3: And what is the lesson that you've learned recently?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Handicap spaces. It's been no secret that I've been recovering
- 6:39Speaker 2: for a while from a lot of knee surgeries, three
- 6:42Speaker 2: of them over the last what year or so, and
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's been painful at times, but I'm not out of
- 6:48Speaker 2: the woods yet. But I've discovered the importance of the
- 6:51Speaker 2: handicapped placard. I have a temporary one while I'm healing,
- 6:54Speaker 2: which allows me to park in handicapped spaces out of necessity.
- 6:59Speaker 3: And it's very important and convenient for you because it's
- 7:02Speaker 3: a struggle for you to get around on that roll later.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It is and it's not easy, like you know, getting
- 7:07Speaker 2: to work like this morning, drove myself to work this morning. Again,
- 7:10Speaker 2: there's a reason why these spaces exist. Well, I've also
- 7:14Speaker 2: noticed since I've been rocking out the role later when
- 7:17Speaker 2: it comes to people who respect the handicapped space, they're
- 7:22Speaker 2: few and far between.
- 7:23Speaker 3: So you're saying that you're noticing people are parking there
- 7:25Speaker 3: when they should not be correct and you know this
- 7:27Speaker 3: because they don't have a placard. There are certain handicaps
- 7:30Speaker 3: or whatever that are invisible, so to speak.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Right, they figure I can park here, run in really fast,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and get out so that at a shipping store over
- 7:38Speaker 2: the weekend. And if it were just one time, chili,
- 7:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't have a problem with it, But it's multiple
- 7:43Speaker 2: times on multiple occasions, whether it's me going to see
- 7:47Speaker 2: a movie, right and parking in a handicap spot at
- 7:49Speaker 2: the movie because it's closer for me to get into
- 7:51Speaker 2: the building, you know, running to a grocery store or
- 7:54Speaker 2: to the mall, or to tysons or shopping. These spaces
- 7:59Speaker 2: exist for a reason.
- 8:00Speaker 3: And you're really just upset at people who are thinking,
- 8:03Speaker 3: I'm only going to be a minute, but you're saying
- 8:04Speaker 3: that minute is when somebody else could be rolling up
- 8:07Speaker 3: that needs it. Were you ever guilty of being one
- 8:10Speaker 3: of those people that was like, Hey, you know what,
- 8:12Speaker 3: I'm only going to be a minute. I'll leave the
- 8:13Speaker 3: hazards on and I'll just jump right out.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I admit that I was worse than that. Oh I
- 8:18Speaker 2: had to go out of town to a friend's funeral
- 8:20Speaker 2: and park in a handicap spot at Union Station because
- 8:23Speaker 2: I was running late with a former colleague of ours.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And call it karma, And maybe that's why I'm so
- 8:29Speaker 2: belligerent about it, but it's true. It got you, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: karma will get you if you go abusing those handicapped spaces.
- 8:37Speaker 2: They're not for you. Don't do it. This public service
- 8:40Speaker 2: message brought to you from ninety seven point one watch
- 8:43Speaker 2: f M or He'll be and Chilly in the morning,
- 8:44Speaker 2: where you'll get top stories at the top of the

- 8:55Speaker 3: share those details in just a few.

- 9:57Speaker 3: French George's County police have arrested six people accused of
- 10:00Speaker 3: stealing more than a half a million dollars in merchandise
- 10:02Speaker 3: from stores across five states, including DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- 10:08Speaker 3: since last year, and reselling much of it online. A
- 10:12Speaker 3: DC police lieutenant could be headed to prison. Matthew Mall
- 10:16Speaker 3: pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor after allegedly messaging an
- 10:20Speaker 3: undercover investigator who is posing as a fifteen year old boy.
- 10:24Speaker 3: He sets to be sentenced on September thirtieth. A man
- 10:28Speaker 3: convicted of sexually assaulting a woman on Herndon's Wood Trail
- 10:32Speaker 3: back in twenty twenty four now faces up to eighteen
- 10:36Speaker 3: years behind bars. Dennis Navaret is set for sentencing December eleventh.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Prince William County police are searching for a man who's
- 10:45Speaker 3: accused of filming an eighteen year old woman under a
- 10:48Speaker 3: bathroom stall at a hotel in Manassa's. She confronted him,
- 10:52Speaker 3: but he fled. Investigators say that he was spotted at
- 10:55Speaker 3: the same restroom that's located in Tempo by Hilton just
- 11:00Speaker 3: two weeks earlier. Washington Commanders rather the Washington Commanders have
- 11:05Speaker 3: picked their builders for the new stadium. Clark Construction Group,
- 11:10Speaker 3: Mortensen and Smoot Construction are going to be leading the
- 11:13Speaker 3: project bringing experience from National's Park and Capital One Arena,
- 11:17Speaker 3: with construction set to break ground next year. And finally,
- 11:21Speaker 3: you know, beyond the usual liquids rule, TSA actually banned
- 11:25Speaker 3: some surprising carry on items like cordless curling irons, bladed corkscrews,
- 11:31Speaker 3: gel candles, and even snow globes. And by the way,
- 11:34Speaker 3: getting caught with any of those items could cost you
- 11:37Speaker 3: over seventeen thousand dollars per violation. Forecast for today partly
- 11:42Speaker 3: cloudy with the chance of a storm later. Hi's around
- 11:44Speaker 3: eighty six right now, seventy one in Rockville.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And that is the news with Toby and Chilly in
- 11:49Speaker 2: the morning. You get top stories at the top of
- 11:51Speaker 2: the hour, and we want to get your take on
- 11:53Speaker 2: this at eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty three
- 11:56Speaker 2: sixty one. Have you ever suffered lugshy letdown? Have you
- 12:01Speaker 2: heard of this phenomenon, this luxury letdown? You know, when
- 12:05Speaker 2: you go after something that's considered luxury, but it's well
- 12:10Speaker 2: we let down. We're talking about it coming up on
- 12:13Speaker 2: the surface. It seems like a luxury, but a letdown's
- 12:17Speaker 2: waiting for you and me, Toby and Chill. You in
- 12:20Speaker 2: the morning. It's ninety seven point one wash FM. Have
- 12:22Speaker 2: you ever experienced a luxury letdown? They're buzzing about this
- 12:25Speaker 2: on Reddit, so we thought we'd bring the conversation to
- 12:28Speaker 2: you this morning at ninety seven point one wash FM,
- 12:31Speaker 2: Chilly you know about this well?
- 12:32Speaker 3: They asked the question what luxury did you stop wanting
- 12:35Speaker 3: after you actually experienced it because the cost just wasn't
- 12:39Speaker 3: living up to the hype. And one of the best
- 12:41Speaker 3: examples was hot tubs. Another one was first class flight.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Or bottle service at a nightclub. I'll tell you what
- 12:49Speaker 3: bottle service at a nightclub I've never even wanted, because
- 12:52Speaker 3: I can tell there's no way that's going to be
- 12:54Speaker 3: worse the return on your investment. Who cares about bottle service?
- 13:00Speaker 3: You know?
- 13:00Speaker 2: When it came to bottle service at nightclubs back in
- 13:02Speaker 2: the day, when I used to have to do them
- 13:03Speaker 2: as appearances and then going and hanging with other colleagues
- 13:07Speaker 2: and coworkers, I can tell you it is mind blowing
- 13:10Speaker 2: how a fifty dollars bottle of champagne at the state
- 13:13Speaker 2: store somehow mysteriously becomes three hundred dollars at a club exact,
- 13:18Speaker 2: and you have to get it. If you want a
- 13:19Speaker 2: booth space or a VIP space.
- 13:22Speaker 3: That's really what you're paying for is the space and
- 13:24Speaker 3: having somebody keep bringing you said bottles. When it comes
- 13:28Speaker 3: to the first class thing, one time I did upgrade
- 13:31Speaker 3: and the seat that I had, or the airline that
- 13:34Speaker 3: I was on, it didn't recline all the way back.
- 13:38Speaker 3: For some it didn't turn into a bed. Does that
- 13:40Speaker 3: mean it was like comforable but it didn't turn And
- 13:42Speaker 3: I'm like, well, gosh, you know, maybe if this is
- 13:44Speaker 3: a turn into a bed, I would do this again.
- 13:47Speaker 3: But to me, it's not worth the thousands of extra
- 13:50Speaker 3: dollars to be if it's first class.
- 13:52Speaker 2: You're right, first class highly overrated.
- 13:55Speaker 3: And you're not going to like this some of you.
- 13:57Speaker 3: But I don't think some designer brands are worth the price.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I'm a dupe girl through and through period.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Well, I have some dupes, but I will say that
- 14:06Speaker 2: there are some there are some design of things they
- 14:09Speaker 2: do hold up.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I'm a very fickle person. I just like to change
- 14:12Speaker 3: things up. I don't need it to hold up well.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I will say Chile that sometimes those brand name things,
- 14:18Speaker 2: when they become vintage, that's because they hold up really
- 14:22Speaker 2: really well stand the test of time. Luxury letdowns, they're
- 14:25Speaker 2: a thing and coming up here at ninety seven point
- 14:28Speaker 2: one wash FM.
- 14:29Speaker 3: You know, if you're maybe heading into work right now
- 14:31Speaker 3: and you work with folks that are younger, apparently there's
- 14:34Speaker 3: some common office jargon that younger workers just don't understand.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So we're about to have a lesson together.
- 14:42Speaker 2: There's a fascinating new survey out of the UK this morning.
- 14:45Speaker 2: We got to tell you about. It's ninety seven point
- 14:47Speaker 2: one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the morning. When
- 14:49Speaker 2: it comes to gen Z, they just don't understand some
- 14:52Speaker 2: of the stuff people say at the office.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Well, this is common lingo and you may have used
- 14:58Speaker 3: it for years, but the new generation kind of get stumped.
- 15:01Speaker 3: They're not understanding it, Like what does in the pipeline mean?
- 15:05Speaker 3: Only twenty eight percent of gen Z workers. No, it means, well,
- 15:08Speaker 3: something is being worked on or something is being planned.
- 15:11Speaker 1: This kind of surprises me, touching base.
- 15:13Speaker 3: The younger generation also doesn't know put it on the
- 15:16Speaker 3: back burner. More than half. Yes, they do know it
- 15:20Speaker 3: means to postpone something and focus on something more urgent
- 15:23Speaker 3: right now, hit the ground running. Sixty four percent understood
- 15:27Speaker 3: the phrase it means to start a new job or
- 15:30Speaker 3: a project confidently, you know, I mean, yes.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Let's take this offline, let's put a pen in it.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Why don't we workshop this? Those are some of the
- 15:37Speaker 2: ones that you know. I mean, I hear them used
- 15:41Speaker 2: and I'm like, really, But.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I don't think we need to necessarily all understand the
- 15:47Speaker 3: jargon unless you're working in mixed company. So if you're
- 15:51Speaker 3: working amongst people that are within your generation, you can
- 15:55Speaker 3: create new office jargon, right if you're part of Gen
- 15:59Speaker 3: X like we are. I think a lot of our
- 16:01Speaker 3: colleagues definitely understand all of this jargon. You only get
- 16:05Speaker 3: into trouble when you are working with multi generations.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I think that we all need to take some time
- 16:12Speaker 2: to understand what blue sky thinking means. Do you know why?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Because it's a good thing no matter what generation you're in.
- 16:20Speaker 2: And that's a lesson on the office jargon. That's some
- 16:23Speaker 2: of these young'ins, these gen zs and such, they don't
- 16:27Speaker 2: even understand. God help the generation that comes after Gen Z,
- 16:31Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point

- 27:45Speaker 5: No, definitely not a jerk move, especially if you've been

- 28:03Speaker 3: in your life already knew you were in a new relationship,
- 28:06Speaker 3: and announcing it to them I think is fine. I

- 28:15Speaker 2: Blair.
- 28:16Speaker 5: When you're done without relationship, you are gone.

- 28:28Speaker 2: having me anytime now. Cassie and Boyd's jerk. What do
- 28:32Speaker 2: you think about Ethan's situation?
- 28:34Speaker 3: That's a tricky one, but personally I do think he
- 28:37Speaker 3: is jerk. Wow, okay, And why is that there needs
- 28:40Speaker 3: to be a morning period after a divorce is finalized.
- 28:43Speaker 3: So the fact that he just went ahead and announced
- 28:45Speaker 3: it kind of showed that he doesn't have any sympathy

- 28:49Speaker 2: So you're seeing Ethan pulled a jerk move.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely, one hundred percent.
